I thought a check-in for how we're doing on the January Challenge would be good. I want to plan my menu also, so here goes:

Saturday:
b-eggs with salsa and cheese
l-tuna salad
d-pork chops? shrimp if I go out to the store

did my exercise. and got water pitcher filled for the day. Thinking about not killing DH, but reconsidering that goal. we'll have to see how the day goes.

anybody else?

I was planning on doing some sort of exercise everyday.....but its not working out that way.

However, I did get my walk in day before yesterday.....everything was too slippery yesterday..I know, no excuses.

Breakfast- scrambled egg w/cheese
Lunch- coleslaw w/bacon and 3 roast beef slices
Supper- chicken and ceasar salad

Doing good on the food part.....Im almost thru the withdrawals

next?

Dottie, thanks for starting this - I REALLY need the accountability!

Food's been OP, but the excercise part......... :( Yesterday I spent a LOT of time cleaning out a closet and some drawers - I sure hope that counts, 'cause I threw my back out. Just got home from the chiropractor and was told to cancel any plans that I had and spend the rest of the weekend in BED! DH, (actually SH, the creep!) wanted to know what's new about that!?!?!?!

Anyhow, no excercise of any kind for me at least until the middle of next week.

Thanks hon, I was gonna start a weekly thread Monday--I suppose we acn do that still, eh?

I am not going to count my menu on weekends since I need carbs to get through the long hours at work. However I will try to ingest more water and less caffeine and that should stave off the bad influences of the carbs. During the week I plan being 100% OP

Pooky, why do you think you need carbs to get through work? In my experience, I feel more energetic and sharp-witted when I stay strictly low carb. Not sure of your reasoning on this.
Anyhow, here is how my day went foodwise.
B
2 egg omelet
2 slices ham

L
BBQ chicken leg and thigh
lettuce & tomato w vinegar

Snack
diet jello & whipped cream
2 tbsp PB (wicked I know)

Dinner
home made chicken veggie soup LC of course
2 chicken drummets

Snack
diet jello & whipped cream

This is a good thread but I seem to post my menus AFTER I've eaten instead of before. Not much point in my posting them before because I change my mind so easily. :dizzy:
Hey, I just checked out my totals on FitDay and it came to 17 gr carbs and 1281 calories. Not bad, huh? And I'm not even hungry at 11:41 pm. Test strips very faint purple.

Sunday- Pooky, I started this mostly for me 'cause I can't get to the computer much during the work week, and the weekend is the best time for me! I think it's more active here during the week though...

Sunday menu-
b-leftover Thai food(can you guess what happened to Sat dinner?)
l-shrimp salad(defrosted 2 lbs of medium shrimp for the week)
d- turkey sausages and meatballs(with pasta for DH)

snacking on cashews, celery and some leftover chicken

Did my workout tape this morning(2 days in a row!) and will drink lots of water and iced green tea today. Feeling less murderous as DH is downstairs doing his ironing! Love to see a man with an iron in his hand!

Breaky, scrambled egg w/cheese
Lunch, coleslaw and roast beef w/ mustard
Supper, ceasar salad with some sort of meat, Im not sure yet, I have to check the freezer.

I know, pretty much the same thing as yesterday....I dont mind eating like that. Especially since its filling, and I know whats in the fridge to eat. I dont have to think about it.

Didnt get much exercise in yesterday...does playing outside for 2 hrs, with 5 kids count???

Im going to be starting weight training within the next couple days..so that should help too.

Have a good op day
Robin

Sorry Linda, I know it may seem strange, but I tried doing low carb when I first started and I was hungry and even more tired! :yikes: I need the energy carbs provide to keep me awake and keep me going during my shift. This doesn't mean I'm pigging out (one of my snackies was chicken soup!)--I am drinking lots of water on the job and I know this strategy is working for me because I did a pre-weigh in (official day is Wednesday) when I got home and voila! 3 pounds gone! :cb: Mon-Fri, I am a strict low carber, for sure!
