Gale -- I personally think you're idea is fabulous! There's no point in getting down if sodium is the prime suspect! (I think you're right about the popcorn too.) ;)

Beck -- GREAT job! You are rockin' the scale this month!! I haven't personally experienced the screwy cycle thing but I've heard that it's very common in women losing weight because estrogen is stored in fat...so when you're losing a lot - the estrogen is released into your blood stream. I'm certainly no expert here but that's what I've heard... :)

Openup -- I personally say don't worry about the personals. We're all here to get the support we need and give the support we can. We love to hear from you but take care of yourself and the rest will fall into place!

Kiyoshima -- WOO HOO! You're doing GREAT!

Mandy -- You continue to inspire me! Great month so far!!

Thaisccs -- You're doing great this month! Keep it up!!

ArcticMama -- Nice whoosh!!

Morning all! I'm down the .4 from yesterday, so back to 208.8 - yesterday was a weird food day for me....I was way under calories, but I really didn't feel hungry at all. Very weird for me with TTOM approaching fast, but I'll take it, there are enough TOM days when I want to eat everything in site, so I think I needed this one.

Starbrite & Diana -- Ouch! Darn sodium.

4:217.5 (+.5)
5:216.5 (-1) ran 25 minutes straight without stopping yesterday. GO ME!
6:218.5 (+2) So I ate absolutely horribly yesterday! I went and did my two workouts yesterday, but I was in such a rush all day that I didn't really think about what I was eating. I just wanted something quick and filling. I really don't want to be stuck in the 2teens forever so I've really gotta step it up!

16: 218.5 OMG this was the worst/best week ever! The worst week because I was on a break from diet and exercise. The best week because my sister graduated with her Master's in Social Work (SO POURD!), one of my dear friends got married, and I got to spend time with my Mommy and Daddy (they were up from Georgia). I'm definately getting back to my daily routine (although I missed my morning run). I've got just 8.5 lbs more to go before I can reach my 210 goal for this month. I know that I can do it!!
17:
18:216 (-2.5) YAY!
19:218.5 (+2.5) Okay no more excuses. I've definitely been lazy recently. I haven't been getting up to run in the morning nor have I been doing my afternoon work out. I didn't wake up this morning but damn it I'm going to the gym as soon as I get home from work. Also I really need to start counting calories again. It's kind of hard to eat healthy when you are on a tight budget. I've been getting a lot of compliments on my weight loss ,but that is no excuse to slack off. I'm reaffirming my weight loss commitment today!

I'm down 1.8 to 174.4. That makes up for yesterday being up a pound, but I don't know how long this will last since TOM is still trying to show up.

Angie - I don't know about B12, but the body can certainly do some strange things when we are losing weight. I know that back when I first started my anemia got worse even though I was still taking my iron pill and making sure to eat iron rich foods. The doc said it was normal for weight loss to cause funny things like that and raised my dosage. The human body is strange, amazing, but strange.

Arctic Mama - Yay for no lying tickers! Congrats!

I didn't bother checking the scale, woke up feeling less then great . . . a lot less.
My shins are sore too, so bizarre, i've never had sore shins, I can only figure its been from walking an extra 2 miles each day on concrete. . . . maybe time for new shoes?

My great sodium flush was an epic fail yesterday. 4,000mg fail. :yikes: I had no idea (until I looked it up after eating it) that the Subway turkey breast and ham, while low in calories, packs 2,000 mg of sodium. But, my win for the day was that I had a VBS planning dinner, ate before I went and didn't touch the pizza, hot dogs, soft pretzels or 3 kinds of homemade cheesecake (NYC theme.) I just drank my water and planned away without the food! :D

Starbrite - No worries on a little bounce! You'll be back down in no time. :)

Diana - I understand you on the sodium, for sure! Evil stuff, it is. Well, tasty and evil... hahaha!

Angie - TOM is a strange one isn't he? I am starting and this is only my second one in 3 years (babies!), it's doing some strange things to me, too.

FitGirly - Woohoo for a whoosh! Love that!

Rhonda - Good job on maintaining! That's a success!

Sept15 - Awesome job staying in your maintenance range, you rock it!

Coondocks - Walking on concrete for long periods always gives me shin splints for some reason, no matter how good my shoes are.

Madam - WTG on 20 lbs lost!! :carrot:

Ona - You're so close to goal, you must be able to taste it! Keep on fighting the good fight!

 to everyone else this morning. I hope you have a fantastic day!

Yahoo! :carrot: I'm very excited about this number! The fact that I'm back in the 260's is beyond exciting. Once again, 268 is my lowest weight in 4 years! I'm not quite sure if these numbers are going to stick around because last month - the following happened: big whoosh before TOM, big gain immediately following TOM, and then it took a few more days after that to get back to pre-TOM...and we're talking a 6/7lbs here...so... we'll see if it sticks because yes...TOM is RIGHT around the corner again! I'll be sad to see it go IF they do BUT...I believe I'm settling into a comfortable routine, I'm definitely OP (calories, water, exercise) WAY more days than I'm not and I think I've found the magic calorie range I need to be at - so those are ALL good things. :D

I REALLY like Rhonda's parting line so I'm going to borrow it! Have a great on-plan day everyone!

Matilda -- Woo! Nice loss over on part 1...jump over here okay! :D

Starbrite -- :D Don't sweat it. You're working so hard...keep it up!!

Diana -- Sodium is evil! Anyone know where we're supposed to be on daily sodium intake? One website I was on said 1500mg/day but MyFitnessPal says 2500mg/day. Is there an individuality to our numbers...like some of us react differently to sodium than others? :chin:

Angie -- Woo hoo! So happy you're back to 208! Not hungry?!?! I need a few of those days too! My TOM is also sneaking up. BOO!

Kiyo -- You CAN do it!!! :cb:

FitGirly -- Nice whoosh! Here's hoping it sticks...even with mean ol' TOM! :crossed: I'm hoping the same thing for myself! :crossed: :crossed::crossed: (You think that's enough finger crosses?)

Sept15 -- Hang in there! You're still showing a down trend!! :D

Coondocks -- You could be right...time for new shoes. Once shoes reach the end of their life, they tend to slap down from heel to toe a bit more which stresses that shin muscle...Have fun shopping!

MadameZombie -- Yahoo on 20lbs!!! You're doing great this month!! :dancer:

OnaMil -- Woo hoo!!! Great way to start the day!! ;)

Gale -- Holy moly! Honestly, the fact that you ONLY had 4000mg is a HUGE success! If you hadn't eaten before your meeting - you would have been way higher than that! Great job on planning ahead and avoiding the temptation. :cp:

Hi all.

I think I've entered another one of the famous Freakish Whoosh cycles. I'm down 1.4 to 190.4. I've revised my May goal to 189. It felt super ambitious in the beginning of the month because of how slow April was for loss but I feel ok adding 1 more pound now.

Nothing new on the drama at home except that I am now focused on making Maxwell feel better and finding time to do fun things with him. He has really been effected by this over these last 2 weeks since I have been busier than usual and more stressed out. He and I need a SEVERE dose of fun STAT!!!! I hate how this is bothering him. I am going to do a fun supper tonight and then we can work together to straighten out his playroom downstairs since my new treadmill (yes, the ONLY high point from last friday!) is there now. I think I am going to surprise him and pick him up from school and take him rollerskating tomorrow. He's been wanting to do that recently. I don't know. I just feel the need to focus on him to show him that we are ok.

1: 251.6 (damnit! 0.6 gained? Went for a 6 km hike yesterday burning 2731 calories and only ate 1400-1500 calories that day. I'm hoping it's just retention caused by dehydration b/c I didn't pack enough water, and because TOM is approaching. We'll see what it is tomorrow. I think I should step it up with the exercise now that I'm heading into my 3rd week.)
2: 252.2 - what the heck?! I really, really, hope this is just because maybe TOM is approaching (Im so irregular, I never really know until it arrives) - but I followed my plan yesterday, deviating only to get a McDonald's cone (150 calories) and I budgeted it for that, too. Not 100% sure why I've gained a pound and a bit back. Very annoying!
3: 252.6 TOM still not here, still getting intermittent symptoms that it's approaching but not here yet. Frustrated, but I know I haven't gone over my calorie budget so I cannot be gaining weight through that (I'm not eating high fat foods or low-nutritional value foods). Just have to persevere and wait.
4: 253.0 Ok, NOW I'm getting frustrated. I've been on a steady rise since Sunday and there's no reason for it. I'm sticking to my plan, I haven't deviated at all, TOM isn't here (yet), and I'm still GAINING. What the ****!? I'm starting to get uber discouraged. I can't go any lower in calories than I wan 1300-1400, and I can't go any higher b/c I'm sedentary for more than 8 hours a night thanks to work. I try to get in 20 minutes of exercise before work, but that doesn't always happen. So frustrated.. I'm doing everything right and I'm GAINING!
5:252.0 TOM finally appeared, sorta. Very light but we'll see how it goes. Hopefully when it's done I'll be out of the 250s; that sure would be nice especially since I've been so "good" and kept to my plan! Crappy day today, but I'll be hitting the treadmill at work on my lunch break like I did last night - watch some of the hockey game that way :carrot: Tonight will make 3 times this week exercising for 20 min. I'm proud ^_^
6: (didn't weigh)
7: (didn't weigh)
8: (didn't weigh)
9: (didn't weigh)
10: (didn't weigh)
11: 250.8 I went to my parent's house for several days (thursday until tuesday) and it's highly likely I gained some weight back because it's very hard to eat the way I need to there. Mom makes everything mostly home made, so figuring out calories is hard. I just tried to eat smaller meals and it seems to have paid off with not a huge gain. Though, not a huge loss either. *sigh* Back on track now.
12: 251.8 Ugh. Up again but it's understandable. Mom and I went to our favorite little Italian restaurant in Vancouver where the portions of spaghetti are massive and I just about ate the whole darn thing. I had water with dinner, so that's a plus I guess. Haven't had that spaghetti in months, either. Back on track today and even more so when mom goes home again lol
13: 251.0 meh, mom's still here so not eating well.
14: 252.0 *le sigh* I love my mom, but I can't wait for her to leave so I can get back to my routine. It's going to be super tough when she's down this summer selling corn (her summer job) and staying with me. Teeny 600 sq ft 1 bedroom basement and ALL of her crap. I had a 2 bedroom last year and it was a DISASTER all the time. She refuses to clean up after herself so I end up doing it all. I'm not looking forward to it. Even now, my living room/main room is a mess and it's mostly her stuff everywhere.
15: (didn't weigh).
16: 255.0 #%*%&#(@&(%)%!!!! I'm so mad; I regained 5 pounds for what? NOTHING! Trying to get back on track but finding it even harder than when I started!
17: 253.0 Ok, on a downward trend now. Let's hope there are no more hiccups soon.
18: 252.8 Weighed at the doctor's office today and it looked like 252-ish. Hopefully it was correct. Talked to my nurse practitioner (like a GP) about everything. She said I should be drinking twice as much water as I have been and to increase to 30 minutes of exercise 3 times a week. Also, getting on the antidepressant for my moderate depression will help (she says) and that if the water retention doesn't get better in a few months of staying on track, to see her again. Told her my eating plan and what I generally eat and asked if she thought I needed a dietician but she said it sounds like I have it all under control, it's just a matter of sticking to it despite the rough patch. To be honest, I did go off the plan while my mom was in town and that no doubt contributed to the gain, so hopefully I can really stay strong. My parents want me to go up to their house next weekend because it's Nilla's (My dog's) 1st birthday. I think if I *do* go up, I'll have to bring my own food - or at least get my own food once I'm there so I'm not eating what they eat.
19:251.5 Woo! Heading back down! Did 30 minutes in the gym last night; 7 on treadmill, 7 on bike, and 15 on weights. Definitely feeling it today.

So, I hope you guys don't mind if I rant for a minute. :( I know this won't get much sympathy since you all go through it every single month but may I just say that TOM sucks! I started today, my first one since Dec 2009 and only my second one since Feb 2008... I forgot how icky it makes me feel. I feel like I've been hit by a mid-size truck, I'm so exhausted and dizzy and all around feeling blech. :( I don't feel like eating or even moving. Bed sounds delightful. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Roxy -- Woohoo for your 1.8! Awesome! Yeah it is weird about the B12, but I guess it's just one of those things. I feel great, so I'm not overly worried.

Coondocks -- I would guess that you need shoes with more cushioning, or maybe just a newer pair of what you have...?

Ona -- Great job, keep going!!

Gale -- Welcome back to the TOM club...lol.

Jami -- Yes! Loving that you are at 269...you can do this! That's a good question you asked about sodium...I've heard different target numbers too.

Vixsin -- I feel for you with Maxwell...I know it's heartbreaking when you realize that they are stressed or bothered by life's problems when all you wan to do is protect them. I hope you guys have an awesome fun day. Cam and I just read a great book called "Yes day" and in it the little kid gets to make ALL the rules for one day..so they order pizza for breakfast and play crazy games, etc etc. Cameron can't wait to have one of those days, so I've promised to have one while we're on vacation later in the summer.

Mandy -- Ahhh! Just TWO MORE DAYS!! I'm so excited for you!

Twinmomma --

Sooo...I just went for a spray tan..seriously. I can't believe I did it, it's really not a 'me' thing to do. A friend at work commented on my scary white legs when I wore a skirt to work this week and suggested it, and it's been on my mind since, so I thought why not try it? I'm still developing right now, it takes about 4-6 hours for the colour to show.

I'm so tired tonight, yucky. No WI this morning, BUT no bread, no pasta, no candy.. I've been a good girl today! :D

Coondocks - ready for it? It's pretty pathetic, but I'm kind of ashamed of how I look and therefore hate going out because of it. Terrible excuse, but normally I'd just brush you off.. so that's the truth! I'm working on it, so hopefully I can just get over myself and come out with you! And yes, time for new shoes :)

Angie - best decision EVER! Fake tans always make you look and feel great! I have been sitting in the sun, and the tan I'm getting is making me feel a little better about my body! Big count down to your trip! I am so excited to hear alllll about it!

JamiSue - please let me come live with you so I can do everything you are doing and drop 10+ pounds in a month :D

 to everyone else I'm missing.. which is a lot.. but this girl needs to sleep! 2 work days before vacation! :D

JamiSue - I guess you are right about the not worrying about the personals .
I just try to pass along the information/advice from experience. I do not want to step on toes either that could really hurt someone :^:

I have to adjust the ticker - 10 1bs here. I need to keep on top of the weigh in 's more but on the other hand I don't want to get obsessive about it and get discouraged if I have a negative.

All the sodium chat , I use sea salt sparingly , it has trace minerals , it is better than what i once used , which was half- salt I checked the ingredients one day
A salt and***potassium chloride mixture*** with iodide and a freeflowing agent, contains 50% less sodium than regular salt. Use for baking, cooking and at-the-table seasoning just like regular salt for the same great results.
***This very same compound has been used on several occasions by Dr. Jack Kevorkian , it works by stopping the heart. It just freaks me out to what they put in foods these days , and why I am so wary. And I am not saying that someone is going to have ill effects from using it , but it is poison and they do not know the results of a buildup or if it does etc.

You need to change your ticker! :carrot::D:carrot::D:carrot:

i definitely will... if my weigh in tomorrow (well, later today) reflects the correct number. i hope dinner at olive garden didn't mess me up too badly.

i ordered something NOT off of the 'low fat' menu, but only ate about half of it, boxed the rest up and sent it home with curtis for him to eat tomorrow. i ate a large plate of salad, and *gasp* 3 breadsticks. i couldn't help it. they are addictive. we also had dessert, the "pick 3" shot glass size desserts, and we split them all. i washed it all down with 3 glasses of water during dinner, and a bottle of water later.

my calories during the day before we went to dinner was only about 300. so unless dinner went well over 1500 calories, i SHOULD be okay. well, except the sodium. i could TASTE how salty some of the stuff was. amazing how going light on the sodium for a while can make it so freakin obvious when something is loaded with it. (deli meat is dangerous for the sodium!)

I'm up a pound to 175.4. Stupid TOM! My legs are also seriously sore since I went on a 5 mile hike yesterday with hills.

Coondocks - New shoes sounds like a good plan. My shins were bugging me, I got new shoes, all better.

Gale - It's everywhere! Good job at dinner. I'm sorry TOM is sucking so much for you. Me too!

JamiSue - I'm hoping it works for you:crossed: but I don't think I have enough things to cross when it comes to TOM for me.

Vixsin - That sounds like a great plan and I think you could both use it.

Angie - I'm considering this spray tan stuff. Let us know what you think.

Happy Friday!

Morning! I stayed the same today, which is pretty pleasing since I picked up dinner at Subway last night.

Starbrite -- You'll do well, don't worry and try not to over-think it.

Diana -- Congrats on your loss!

Roxy -- The spray tan experience was overall good -- but I have a word of warning to share...lol. They tell you to come to the studio freshly showered and exfoliated; I did this but there are parts of your body that you would not think of exfoliating, and spray tanning will show you which ones they are. You don't see the results until 4-6 hours later, so I woke up this morning with hands that look like I dye leather for a living. It's crazy how dark my hands were, and the bottoms of my feet too. I spent about 30 minutes scrubbing my leathery spots like crazy to remove the top layer of skin. I guess wherever you might normally have dry skin, these are the areas to concentrate on. I had to exfoliate my knuckles! They did have some cream to put on around your fingertips and for your palms, but I'm guessing it had to be put on quite thickly and I was a little more sparing! Everywhere else looks great and perfect, but my hands and feet are making me self conscious today, but even they will be fine by tomorrow, with my scrubbing it's improved by about 60-70% already. :)

Have you tried the new Orchard Chicken Salad at Subway, yet? I think it's a seasonal item. I had it previously and enjoyed it. I've thought about getting that type of tanning done. You will have to keep us updated with how long it lasts and your overall thoughts. I am ghostly white!

Hi Friends. The scales finally went down a bit. Today is my official weekly change-the-ticker day. I'm down a whopping .8 for the week! The good news is that I'm back on plan 100% and am aiming for an on-plan weekend.

Making some big decisions regarding my job and my future. I'm not one who like a lot of change, so I'm feeling more than a bit stressed. Trying to find ways of dealing with the stress without eating. I'll be back this weekend for personals.

Have a great on-plan day!

Up .4 this morning to 190.8. I didn't get enough sleep last night so that's what I'm blaming it on. LOL

Fun was had with my Maxwell last night!! Dinosaur chicken nuggets for supper. I drew him a picture of us at work yesterday and gave it to him this morning. He was THRILLED!! He was so surprised that I drew that for him. I'll take a picture of it and post it. You guys will love it! I am so NOT an artist!!! LMAO

I'm picking him up at school and definitely taking him rollerskating this afternoon. We are both excited. I feel better about my boy. There were many easy smiles this morning and that made me feel really good!!

Will check back later and do personals.

1:218.5 (+.5) Didn't do any exercise that day and boy did I miss it!
2:218.5 (0) Exercise today, can't wait to get settled into the new place so my diet can get back on track!
3:217 (-1.5)

20: 216.5 (-2) Is this even normal? I can understand fluctuating a pound but 2 lbs? Oh well, I guess it's one of the things of weighing in daily. Also got in my 5k practice yesterday, I've really gotta get my time down!

good morning everyone!! :D

today will be the last time i weigh in until next friday when i have to face the music upon returning to reality from my honeymoon and then realize the calories on vacation do, in fact, count.

today's weigh in: 267.9
change from yesterday: -0.8
loss for the week: 3.9 pounds! (whoa!)
total loss for may thusfar: 7.7 pounds
total loss since start (march 15): 32.1 pounds

time to change the ticker, and hope my honeymoon doesn't result in a huge gain! i told curtis to not be upset if i brought exercise DVDs lol. he said he'd be crazy to argue since he knows they give me energy. :D

good luck to all of you this week! i will miss my regular check ins, and all of you wonderful folks! :)

p.s. i guess olive garden didn't do too much damage after all :D

YA FREAKING HOO!! LOWEST WEIGHT IN FOUR YEARS!!! Today's my officialy WI day so I have also updated my ticker. Funny cause I was so anxious during my workout this morning because I wanted so badly to get to a computer and update it! LOL!

Probably because of that anxiousness, partly because I was just tired and it's Friday - I DID NOT want to workout this morning. Didn't have much trouble getting out of bed or going to the gym but as soon as I stepped up on the ol' DREADmill I wanted to get off! LOL. I usually walk 30 minutes but recognizing my feelings, I had already decided to reduce it to 20. After 9 - I just KNEW I wasn't going to make it to 20. So I decided to go at least 1 mile. At 1 mile - I was so close to 20 minutes I pushed myself a little futher and MADE IT! Woo hoo! And then...surprising myself even further...I got on the elliptical for another 10! Whew! What could have been a disappointing workout turned into an excellent one! SO PROUD TO ME! ;) I even followed that up with some arm exercises (gotta work on those potential bat wings EVERY day) and some good stretching.

Oh yea - I almost forgot. I also had my mom measure me last night....and I've lost....7 1/2 inches! Man - seriously on :cloud9: this morning!

Reptogirl -- Great job on your sweet down trend!!

TwinMomma -- Man oh man is that marathon getting close! Looks like you're training hard...I can't wait to hear how you do!!

Aimee -- LOL! You're cracking me up. Nothing special going on here just super motivated...right now anyway...and I'm taking advantage. There's nothing like having lil' guys at home excited for my WI's too! The day will soon come when I'm sick to death of tracking and exercising...here's hoping for the strength let my comittment take over then so I don't backslide! BIG CONGRATS on being a "good girl" yesterday! Are things better with the BF?

Starbrite -- Congrats on the loss! Is your scale about to die?? Good luck with the interviews and with the class!

Diana --

Angie -- Thanks for sharing the spray tanning experience. Did you just go to a regular tanning salon? Good lessons! Have a GREAT time in VEGAS!

Rhonda -- Sounds like you had a GREAT week! .8 is nothing to scoff at considering the challenges you've faced recently. GREAT JOB! Keep it up!!

Vixsin -- I can't wait to see your picture! What an adorable idea! Have a GREAT time rollerskating w/ Maxwell!

Kiyo -- Good luck on your 5k tomorrow!!

Love -- GREAT JOB!! You've got a nice downtrend going on!!

Mandy -- Woo hoo!! Great job girl!! I like the way Curtis thinks! Have a great time tomorrow!

171 - not amused, but not going to sweat it. I have been walking 2+ miles extra for the last 4 days, doing leg, arm and ab work and kinda sorta neglecting my water intake, so it's bound to happen.
I did wear different shoes this morning, such a difference. Time to throw away the old ones for sure.

Aimee - Not pathetic at all, I have been there and still have days there, totally understandable. The offer is there whenever you want to come out with the 'girls', if it helps, these are the girls that have been around me for years, seen my struggles and uncomfortable awkwardness, and I have always, ALWAYS, felt nothin but fabulous around them. no bread, pasta or candy . . well Damn you are taking charge like no ones business, rock on!!

Vix - I really wish we lived in the same city some days, it sounds like you are one heck of a great mom and Max just sounds too adorable for words. I can't wait until Jack is old enough to be picked up for special 'dates' from school

Jami - KUDOS and then some to you!! Congrats on the low and the fantastic stats this month!!

Roxy - New shoes have def helped, my right shin was still a little irritated but i figured that would happen, otherwise its all good.Hows all the prep coming along for the kids??

Angie - started my inclines again, I don't know what it is but i've become more focused on the exercise and toning, not that its a bad thing ;) How is the tanning looking? Im looking for something, like Diana, I am ghostly white and need some colour . . . . badly ha ha.

Diana, Ona, Love, Matilda, Repto and everyone else have a great one!!

Angie - Your hands and feet made me lol. If I do go for one I will make sure to exfoliate mine really well.

Vixsin - So glad Maxwell is feeling happier and that you are too because he is. :)

Mandy - Congrats! Have fun!

JamieSue - :congrat: on the low weight and the awesome day you are having.

Coon - I'm glad that your shins are feeling better. Yay new shoes! Hubby got his physical form from the doc today and his shot records and that's the last of the paperwork we need to gather, so I will be calling Monday to make an appointment for turning it all in.

starbrite - What grade level is the interview lesson for? I know you are going to do awesome.

20: 251.8 Up a little bit, but I'm not stressing. Going on a 6 km hike tomorrow.

Just quickly -- I still support the spray tan. I'm practically transparent after a long winter, and I'm golden toasty brown now! I went for level 2, but next time I'd probably choose level 1 to be a little more subtle. People were asking me today if I just got back from vacation...lol. I'll be sure to post some pics from vegas when I get back to show you guys.

I hope to be able to check in here to try to keep myself accountable for what i'm eating, although I won't have access to a scale.

Good Morning, Everyone! I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Hmm, I've dropped down lower than my maintenance range. I always have a higher calorie day on Saturday (today). We are going out of town next weekend. Even if you watch it closely, it's hard to stay 100% in you calorie range. I am going to play it by ear for right now. I don't want to drop down any farther.

I'm up .4 to 175.8, grrr TOM!

Angie - I hope you have a blast in Vegas.

Diana - Just think of the slightly under range as a little extra buffer because you're right, going away from home always makes it harder. I wouldn't stress too much over .4, just keep an eye on it.

I'm off to do 2 hours of zumba with my hubby now!

20: 216.5 (-2) Is this even normal? I can understand fluctuating a pound but 2 lbs? Oh well, I guess it's one of the things of weighing in daily. Also got in my 5k practice yesterday, I've really gotta get my time down!

Coondocks - I will definitely keep it in mind :) Thanks for the offer :) I appreciate it!

Alright, I'm just done. I was getting into a good routine, cutting WAY back on carbs, feeling pretty darn good. And then the bf decides to behave badly and now I'm not heart broken I can't stand the idea of eating. Hard to love someone and hate them at the same time. There will be some huge discussions in the next week because I can't keep it up. I am hoping to try and stay on plan.. but if I'm not posting.. thats why. Grr...

Starbrite Congrats on the 1.5 pounds!

Reptogirl Great job on that pound!

Fitgirlygirl How was the 2 hours of Zumba? That's a lot! My drop could have just been a fluctuation, too. I will just keep doing what I've been doing and analyze when we get back in town.

Ona Great job on the .8.

Kiyoshima Congrats on the .5.

Liliann Hi and Welcome! You are off to a great start!

Aimee Sorry about the stress between you and your BF.

Good Morning, Everyone!

Calories for yesterday: 1740

Weigh In: 144.6 (I kept going between 144.4 and 144.6. I will say that I stayed the same)

No Change

Liliann Great job! I know you have to be super motivated right now! Are you are on a particular food plan? Counting calories? I count calories and watch my carbs. I don't count my carbs though, just make sure I don't over indulge in them. Have a great day!

starbrite..Way to go on your loss!! Wow, almost at goal.. Amazing!! Keep it up!!

Diana.. Stay the same is good and better than a gain. Keep it going! I am not dieting per say, just choosing healthier foods and eating from stomach hunger.

Enjoy your day all!! :)

Liliann I think you have a great food plan. I have found that I have less cravings since I'm eating healthier. Keep up the great work!

20: 251.8 Up a little bit, but I'm not stressing. Going on a 6 km hike tomorrow.
21: (Didn't weigh)
22: 249.5 Yes, you read that right.. 249.5! I am out of the 250s. YAY! :cheer2::cheer2: We didn't go on the 6 km hike yesterday, but a nice hour and a half walk by the ocean - and the gym is probably really helping, too!

It's still TTOM but I didn't want to stay off the scale any longer. Things are not looking good for me this month. Last week was long. We were all sick at one point or another and I only made it to the gym three times (plus a workout at home.) My eating has been atrocious since I've been on TOM, 2000-2100 calories per day - I'm so stinking hungry! *sigh* I hope I didn't undo all of my hard work this week. Today should be the last day of TOM and so hopefully the scale will go down over the next week. Back at the gym tomorrow. Today's eating hasn't been great so far, but I should be able to come in close to calories.

Hello Everyone!

starting personals from where my weigh ins start :) on 5/20

Mandy congratulations!

Ona good job on the .8 GONE :)

Thanks Jami but boy do I wish I could lose like you! (I know never satisfied, LOL) Wow you are doing it Lady :high:

Coondocks we'll get back to our 160 something weight. Remember last year my low in September was 165 and look at me now. I know how to do it but something is lacking in me and I am having a difficult time getting it back. And you don't have far to go, YOU GO GIRL!

starbrite good job on the 1.5lbs + .2 GONE :) How exciting to be so close to goal :) I'm happy for you and excited with you

Gale no weigh in but a great compliment makes it a little better  Rant away, I feel ya' ... sorry about the TTOM gain but you know it's only temporary since things are better healthwise right (I'm in and out so much)

Roxy I would love to do Zumba with my husband, eventhough I don't think we'd get to much dance in because both of us are horrible dancers. I'm sure you had fun :)

Rainbow congrats on getting out of the 250 :high: and good job on the 2.3lbs GONE :)

Angie, have fun in Vegas :)

Diana good job on the 1.8lbs GONE :)

reptogirl good job on the 1lb GONE :)

kiyoshima good job on the .5 GONE :)

Liliann wow 8lbs what did you do, WOW! that's great! :welcome: ... not to sound stupid but when you say you eat from stomach hunger does that mean you only eat when you are hungry? I need to find away to stop the late night hunger pangs

Aimee

OK here's my big update ....
I've been on this horrible eating roller coaster for quite some time and decided to check out a weight loss specialist. I need to get my weight under control because I don't want to be insulin dependent. I did very well last year but this go around after trying to work out of the home things are harder. I am taking an appetite suppressant and a B-12 shot that isn't working as far as I'm concerned. I have yet to exercise and that may have something to do with it. I'm gonna start tomorrow doing my WAH with Leslie DVD's again and see if that helps. It's a 12 week program on a 1200 diet. Start day was Wednesday I go back on Tuesday to follow up. Today I'm up .2 at 177.2.

Hi Kukkie, eclipse, Vixsin, Ronda, Matilda, and everyone else I missed.

Thanks Liliann  ... for whatever reason the Dr. told me not to eat any nuts at all. Which is kind of a good thing because I over indulge but I can't eat peanutbutter or flaxseed either. Maybe I should have asked why huh :D. Today I've been hungry most of the day not sure why and I can't find anything to eat that would be satisfing so I don't know what to do.

Rainbow :crossed: that you will

20: 216.5 (-2) Is this even normal? I can understand fluctuating a pound but 2 lbs? Oh well, I guess it's one of the things of weighing in daily. Also got in my 5k practice yesterday, I've really gotta get my time down!
21:
22: 217.5 (+1) Did my morning run and I'm determined to get in my second workout today. Hopefully tomorrow's weigh in will be better. Get me out of the 2teens already!!

Good morning, Friends.

FitGirlyGirl - Your husband does Zumba, too? That is so cool! There are no men in our classes. Not a one.
Aimee- I'm so sorry to hear that things between you and your boyfriend aren't going well. I hope things ease up for you soon.
Starbrite - Good luck on your interview.
Gale - I've had a tough month, too. But, we're still trying.
Love2B150 - It's wonderful that you have decided to see a weight loss specialist!

I'm still hanging in here, but I had a tough weekend. My problem is mental and emotional. At points, I start to feel sorry for myself and don't want to police everything single thing I put in my mouth. I'm really seeing how much of an issue I have with food. I'm an addict. Plain and simple. I wish we had some kind of weight loss specialists in my area, but I haven't been able to locate any. For now, I just keep trying and praying that I figure this out for myself.

Have a great on-plan day.

Hey everyone! I'm back from California and let me just say I had an excellent time, despite some crappy weather and a cancelled flight! It all worked out in the end and we did have a really good time. However, hotels and travel do not help when trying to eat healthy, especially when surrounded by fast food restaurants left, right and bloody centre. I tried to make the best decisions I could with what was available, but eating on any sort of normal schedule was a serious mission that failed miserably. I did however keep up my water intake, so there is a plus and we did lots and lots and lots of walking. Haven't weighed in yet and not sure I'm going to today since I've already had my coffee, so it wouldn't be a true reading. We'll see what happens tomorrow, but I'm excited to get going again and kind of desperate for an intense workout so I don't feel like such a blob... doesn't help that TOM is expected any day now! Lots of reading to catch up on, so I'll be back later for personals.

Hi Kukkie welcome back

:yay: eclipse, I'm sure you'll pass that 2.8 loss in a month. Your'e doing great :) I'm happy for you :high:

Hi Vixsin it's probably water, since you know you were on point. I sure can't say the same. I got the water in but my food choices were a :nono:

...ok my turn :D ... I had been doing pretty ok (whew) then yesterday I was off the chain. I don't think there was one meal that I had yesterday that I would call healthy :(. I did ok at breakfast almost until I discovered some fried shrimp my daughter brought home from Applebee's (I had 4). And you know it's bad when the children say, "Should you be eating that?" or "That's not diet food Mommy!". I will see progress for a few days and that should be inspiration that I did it and I'll just screw up. Then I have the nerve to get upset and wonder why (even though I know) ... No self control here lately on my part.

Went over in calories yesterday by 418, had 53.56 grams of fat and no exercise. Weigh in today 178.8 up 1.6lbs. And I weigh in at the doctors tomorrow ... not crossing my fingers just gonna face the music. So far todays meals have been on point. I'm going walking with my husband this evening and I'm gonna do at least a mile or two with Leslie just in case the rain that they are forecasting comes.

Have a great day Everyone!

PS it's awfully quiet in here ....

So we had my oldest son's birthday party this past Saturday. I did pretty good but over indulged across the board. Not reall too much of any one thing but just too in general. I knew what I was doing though...I made the choice. I didn't start the guilt game though and woke up Sunday with a fresh start. A couple of good things still came from this...which is always good. My NSV (I always try to find one when I slip up) is that I still tracked ALL my food. In the past, I've stopped tracking when I over eat so I can't quantify the damage. No tracking + no weighing = no mistake, right? :) Not this time, I tracked every bite! It was a good exercise 'cause most of what I ate was OP except the afternoon cake (geez doez vanilla frosting have a TON of freaking calories) and the late night pizza.

Surprisingly, I'm feeling good this morning. Got up and went to the gym and am on track for another OP day. I like the fact that I didn't start the guilt game after my off-plan day. I made a choice, am dealing with the consequences (lil' gain and lots of sodium intake) and am moving on. No biggy!

Have you guys seen those signs on construction sights saying "X accident free days" or something similar? This off-plan day reminds me off that. "Two on-plan days in row!" My count just started over. ;)

Starbrite -- YAHOO!! Great loss! Holy crap -- 3lbs from goal?!?!

Reptogirl -- NICE!!

Diana -- I can imagine that maintenance is just as hard if not harder than losing. Great job tracking and working to find a healthy balance.

Kiyo -- Great job recommitting! You are doing great!

Liliann -- WOW! You're are throwing down huge numbers! GREAT JOB!!

Aimee -- Take care of yourself! Let us know if we have to go over there and give the BF a swift kick in the you know what!

RainbowGirl -- That's what I'm talking about!! Great job!!

Gale -- Hang in there! I'm actually pretty impressed that you made it to the gym often even though you or someone was sick all week at your house! Celebrate the successes...no matter how little!

Love -- Hey...a pic of you! :) Sounds like you have a good plan! YOU CAN DO IT!!

Rhonda -- Sometimes "hanging in there" is the best we can do. Celebrate ANY succuess you have! You'll figure this out.

I post one from time to time then take it off because I don't like it. But this one is far away so it doesn't look so bad :)
I'm trying to figure out how to post a thumbnail picture of me before ...

TOM fooled me this morning. I thought it was over and then, after the gym, it jumped out and tackled me again... sigh. I just keep telling myself that it will end sometime. Hopefully today is the last day... for real. :) I made it to the gym today and did intervals on the stairstepper/elliptical machine (it's called a crossramp, I think it's a mix between the 2.) Food is OP so far today (first time in 3 days) and I think it's gonna be a good week!

 to everyone! I'm off to get my housework started.

Gale -- So sorry to hear about TOM. REALLY hoping for you that he leaves sooner rather than later. TOM - are you listening? Make like a tree and leaf! YAY for being OP! It's DEFINITELY gonna be a good week!

23: 252.3 Well, that was shortlived. I don't know what happened. I ate according to plan, I drank 1.5 L of water and I regained the weight. I'm getting so annoyed. I'm doing everything that I'm being told to - 30 min exercise every day, 1400 calories a day, low fat, low carb, low sodium, lean meats, lots of veggies, and I'm not losing. I totally feel like just giving up. I mean, it's been over a month and a half and I've only lost 12 pounds and now seem to be stuck. If I eat any less, I'll starve, and I can't exercise more b/c there's no time when you work 2 jobs. Urhg. I'm so upset.

LOL Gale, yea, 12.5 pounds (if you don't count the repeated yo-yoing there gaining and losing the same few pounds). I just don't FEEL like there's been a difference. Plus, I'm young and impatient, I want sh*t done NOW damnit! even though I know I didn't gain the weight overnight. Patience is not one of my virtues.

I have discovered that 1.5 L weighs almost exactly 3 pounds. And, since I know I already retain a lot of water, that's probably to blame for the increase in weight. It can't be fat b/c I eat very little of it anymore. It has to be water. So, I've re-started the cranberry pills I had started last week and I'm going to be forcing myself to visit the bathroom every few hours (all my life I've been able to hold it like a camel) and see if that doesn't help in the next few weeks.

It's just annoying because it doesn't really feel/look like I've lost -anything- this month. I've just been yo-yoing the same few pounds; gaining them, then losing them.

Gale TOM sucks hope it's gone soon  Glad you're having an OP day :)

Jami ... I think I'm still comparing my body now to the way I looked at 165 last September. It's not a big difference number wise but I looked so much better. I was walking faithfully 3 miles a day and rarely off point and wearing a comfortable size 12. I gave away all of my plus size clothes and managed to sneak a few 14's in and I am barely closing them. I'm so afraid of getting back to the 190's/200's. I look at that weight watchers ad of Jennifer Hudson and it makes me sick. (hope I'm not offending anyone) she looks so good. I keep thinking wow.

on a good note I did have a great lunch only 303 calories and I did 2 miles with Leslie. So off to a good start so far :crossed: I don't blow it :)

Rainbow that's 2.1lbs a week you're doing great :) but the back and forth is maddening I know  Hang in there! I'm 45 and I want this weight off now also. :) I look at my stats for the last two months I've been back and forth same numbers. We're with you 100% of the way.

I have to thank all of you that listen/read my complaints. It's a great feeling knowing that you have someone to listen and that understands. Thanks.

I think I'm still comparing my body now to the way I looked at 165 last September. It's not a big difference number wise but I looked so much better.

I totally understand and that's exactly what I'm talking about. We (women) almost always compare ourselves to some other time when we looked better or god forbid some other woman who we think looks better - bleh! It's almost always better to not give a crap about what others think but sometimes it would be so helpful to see ourselves how others see us. ('Cause I think you look fabulous!) :D Totally not dogging you there either because I am definitely included in that "we" statement above.

I also now what you mean about being scared of going back. Everything I hit a new decade I'm terried of gaining and going back to the next. I can mostly keep it buried 'cause I know it irrational but the thought sneaks out for a quick second every morning when I weigh.

Jami.. Thank you for the kind words!

Rainbow.. Try drinking more water..Maybe 1.5 liter is not enough..You can search for a water calculator to determined how much water is needed. You will be amazed on how much water we need to flush out the water weight. I need to drink about 6 liter due of my weight,,but am drinking 3 liter daily. Hope this helps. Stay strong!!

Hi all quick check in for me. My food is so off plan it's not even funny - but I've probably walked 15k in the last two days. I'm incredibly sore and achy and trying to keep up my water. TTOM is due today so between that and everything else I'd hate to see a scale today! I hope you are all doing well :).

Today I was 175.8, not bad since yesterday was 178.6. I have not been a good girl. I have not been tracking my food at all. After our 2 hours of zumba we decided to go to the Greek food festival. That would be ok if we had not gone way overboard and then decided to have Mexican for dinner that night. Yesterday I was good except for a few pieces of baklava from the festival. Today I have had more baklava, thin mints, chocolate ice cream with extra chocolate syrup, more pita chips than I should have, peanut butter straight from the jar (luckily it was almost empty so I could eat too terribly much), and for dinner we went to burger king! Oh my goodness! Ok, so I have stopped using the bodybugg food tracking system. I don't like the way their software bogged down my system and I don't want to put it on my new computer, so I need a new food tracking program. My hubby uses fitday, but I don't like it. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what to make of my scale numbers of the past couple of days. Sunday was a Jewish holiday (Lag B'Omer) and we had a cookout with our community, then some friends came over to our house and we continued the fun here. I had one mojito (hadn't had an alcoholic drink in months!) and ate a more potato salad then I should have, but everything else was pretty much on plan.

I was 226.4 on Sunday morning. Monday morning I was up to 228, then today I weighed in at 225. How can I be up 1.6lbs one day and down 3lbs the next? Water retention? I'm excited to see 225 because that was the goal I'd set for the Independence Day challenge, and that's still 6 weeks away.

Sorry for not having time for personals- I'm checking in before waking the kids to get ready for school. Hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday.

Here are my weigh-ins so far this month:

1:218.5 (+.5) Didn't do any exercise that day and boy did I miss it!
2:218.5 (0) Exercise today, can't wait to get settled into the new place so my diet can get back on track!
3:217 (-1.5)
4:217.5 (+.5)
5:216.5 (-1) ran 25 minutes straight without stopping yesterday. GO ME!
6:218.5 (+2) So I ate absolutely horribly yesterday! I went and did my two workouts yesterday, but I was in such a rush all day that I didn't really think about what I was eating. I just wanted something quick and filling. I really don't want to be stuck in the 2teens forever so I've really gotta step it up!

169.8. Such a bizarre weekend. went up to 171, back down to 169 then back to 169.8.
I have started re-tracking my calories and discovered that I was WAY under eating, so trying my best to get that back up. Was sick over the weekend with the crappy weather so little movement, but I did get in lots of water so that's good.
And my car died . . . but that's not too bad, it's nice enough to walk almost everywhere and transit isn't too bad either.
Anywho, I'm going to do some reading and hopefully catch up with everyone!!

Up another pound to 192.6 this morning. My jeans feel tight today. I was a little snacky last night but nothing too damaging. I'm sore as heck from my run yesterday and I definitely didn't get enough sleep last night. I think I am going to try and baby myself for the next few nights and SLOOOOOOOOW DOOOOOWWWWNNNN. My goal for tonight is to have a nice home-cooked meal with my Maxwell and to make sure I am in bed by no later than 10pm. That's the plan, anyway. :crossed:

Hey all, thanks for the welcome back. JamiSue, I didn't realize you were in Sac until just now!!!

I still haven't had a chance to catch up on the reading yet, but I did weigh in yday after my coffee even though I said I wasn't going to and I was at 202.6 which means I gained 5ish while I was away. But I'm already headed downwards with 201.6 this morning. Since we came back Saturday night and I had two days before work, I went grocery shopping and cleaned out my kitchen cabinets, so I've got lots of healthy foods stocked.

Haven't been posting because I haven't been really weighing everyday, well I do but if its up(which is normally is by .2-1lb) I dont mark it, getting back on the ball today and going to go on the elliptical again. Saturday im going to see some of my family for a picnic and if they say anything I wanna say I lost 50lbs so im going to try and go for 1.4lbs before then!

Sorry no personals have homework/projects/tests I have to do for the next couple weeks, no summer vacation for me.

Good Morning Everyone! :D

Jami, you have made my morning. BIG BIG  ... Thank you  I weigh in today and I was bummed because I have only lost 2lbs according to my weigh-ins. I messed up with that shrimp my daughter brought home so it's my fault. My NSV is there are still 6 pieces left and I have not touched it though I have wanted to :D

Liliann which water calculator do you use? I just thought you were supposed to drink half your body weight in ounces. I would love to know if I'm drinking enough. Thanks :) Staying the same is better than a gain and you are doing great :)

Hey Angie, great job on your walking :) I've started walking again. You know how good it makes me feel. I only got to do a mile yesterday. Hubby changed his mind since it was thundering and drizzling, but there was no lightening (just distant thunder) so we could have went. Instead I waited and went later but my stats were pretty good. I love my great trainer app. oh and I did 2 miles earlier with WAH with Leslie. I'm trying :)

Roxy great job 2.8lbs .. I wish :high: I use fatsecret but I've heard sparkpeople and livestrong are good.

Hi eclipse

Bullet you can do it  Hope you get some breaks in this summer while pursuing your goals :)

Well I had a good breakfast, so off to a good start. Down .2 to 178.6. I go for my weigh in at the doctors this afternoon and also get to find out what discoveries came out of my blood work that I don't already know about.

BOO! LOL! Very nearly groaned when I saw another gain this morning but I quickly checked it, got dressed, and took my butt to the gym. :D I did have one off-plan day, was retaining water yesterday (my ankles & calves were actually a little swollen), TOM is due this weekend - so, it shouldn't be a huge shock to see some gain. So, I'm turning that frown upside down and digging to be even more OP than ever! :carrot: If I look at my numbers, those numbers can go down just as quickly as they go up if I dig in and focus. So, don't worry ladies...I got this! ;) Piece of cake!

Rainbowgirl -- Ditto what Gale said. Sometimes the weights going to come off slow and only show the downtrend over time and sometimes it'll come off more quickly. The MOST important thing is that it is going down! You're doing so great!

FitGirly -- YAY! Sometimes we just CAN'T look a gift horse in the mouth, right? There are many times that we inexplicable gains...so why not inexplicable losses? You're do! I use MyFitnessPal for food tracking and love it. The user interface is super easy and very intuitive.

Starbrite -- You are going to rock that interview! Good luck!

Becky -- YA FREAKING HOO! :carrot:

Diana -- Nice!

Liliann -- Great job! There's no way that weight's coming back!!

Kiyo -- Hey...I think maintaining during TOM is the BEST!! WAY TO GO!!

Coondocks -- Great job re-evaluating your food. Undereating is definitely not condusive to weight loss! You are a walking fool! :D Have fun!!

Vixsin -- Even more than what the scale says, what my close say is SUPER important. I never feel fatter than when my clothes are tight. I've had a couple of small gains (which I'm not sweating) but my clothes (which are looser than at the beginning of the month) still feel great! Good luck staying OP today!

Kukkie -- Yup! I'm a Sacramento girl. :) You're off to a great start this week! Keep it up!

Love -- That is an awesome NSV. Successful moderation...is great!

Jeri -- Go, Jeri! Go, Jeri! 2lbs to goal!!! Woot woot!! :carrot:

Ack! Correction...TOM is here! :( and :) The sooner it comes the sooner it goes! Plus I HATE having TOM over the weekend!

Rainbowgirl
05-24-2011, 03:42 PM
24: 251.1 Ok, not bad. I did drink the 1.5 L yesterday but I made sure to pee all day long. I don't think I ate too much, but I might have. I go to the gym tonight and tomorrow, but I'm off on Thursday (my Nilla Bean's 1st birthday lol I'm such a dork) so I'm either going for a hike with the birthday puppy or something. That will be my 30 min 3x a week. Sticking on plan, even though it's frustrating.

Hi All

I'm back! The wedding (my brother's) was BEAUTIFUL and absolutely perfect :D I did really well with food ... up until Sunday when I was a little bit hungover, then yesterday because i was still really tired and had a 9 hour drive home...and then today because i was tired and had a deadline for work. :( Not sure how I did SO well on vacation and then ruin it when I come back. That's backwards ...though i did indugle in the alcohol - lol . anyway, back on track in the morning!

Scale didn't come up with anything consistent this morning. ranged from 214 to 220 :?: I'm taking the 214 and sticking with it. lol. That's up almost 5 from last tuesday. oh well, it was my brothers wedding and I wanted to toast it.

Hope everyone had a good week!

169 this morning on the dot.
Another stressful few months coming up, what i thought would be a civil ending is turning out to be lawyers, name calling and pettyness. How fantastic for a grown man. Scuse me while I roll my eyes.
But, I will not let it deter me like it did at the begning of the year. Im effin pissed though since I am now paying for a lawyer instead of school and a newer car.
Im not amused.

Scale weirdness this morning, up 2lbs to 203.6. Ate later than normal I guess, still trying to get into my normal routine. TOM should be lurking around the corner, but who knows, it's my first month off the pill so I'm sure my body is still adjusting... pretty sure I'm not preggers though.

Coon: Sorry Shaun's being such a poop. I'm thankful that you have the money to pay for lawyers so that you can watch yours get EVERYTHING you deserve and THEN SOME!!!! :high: Don't let the stress win! You ARE stronger than you're surroundings. You're "Jack's Mom!" Heck yeah, girl!!!

Still dancing with 192. Down .4 to 192.2. Thanks Ovulation! :tantrum:  I'll tell ya, I am really looking forward to the whooshes that should start happening in about a week or so. I am confident that I will be firmly planted in the 180's! :crossed: Only a couple more months and my system will come back to normal since I had the Mirena removed!! Can't wait for that!!!!! :yay:

Going to try and do some Yoga with Bob tonight. I think I am going to try to run in the mornings before Maxwell gets up. I loved working out first thing in the morning. It would always set a nice tone for the day. I think I'm going to try it.

Whew! Finally seeing negative numbers after a few good OP days! YAY! I'm noticing a trend of going off-plan over the weekends, even it's usually only one day, I'm not liking the results too much so I'm going to have to think of a new goal to help me manage that behavior.

I'm going in for routine bloodwork this morning. I'm actually looking forward to seeing how the numbers look after nearly two whole months of health eating and exercise! My doctor was very happy and congratulatory to hear about the loss I've had so far. YAY ME!

Yesterday was a TOM false alarm I guess, only turned out to be SUPER light spotting. What's up with that?!? Just come already!!!

Rainbowgirl -- You're right! That ain't bad! GREAT JOB!

Gale -- GO GALE! So long TOM!!!

Love -- Mmmm...pizza AND Taco Bell in one day!?!?! That just isn't right! Sounds like you're handling it well though! (I'm not sure I agree with Coondocks and Diana about it not tasting as good as it smells but it's still not worth it...I suppose. ;)

Mandy1974 -- :welcome3: (We have another Mandy that's on her honeymoon right now, so this is going to get interesting!) :D

Reptogirl -- Keep hangin' in there! You're gonna see those numbers!!

FutureThoughts -- Way to stay focused. You made a choice and you're moving on...that a GREAT outcome following what sounds like a fabulous weekend!

Starbrite -- :crossed: Can't wait to hear!!!

Lilian -- WOO HOO!

Diana -- Looks like you're doing pretty well. You're teaching the rest of us how the whole maintenance plan can work. THANKS!!

Coondocks -- Grrrrr! Not sure there's much more to say than that. We're here for you!

Kukkie -- Yea, I'm finding it takes 3/4 days for the weight flucutations to calm down even after one off-plan day...doesn't seem to get much longer for extended off-plan days though. I'm sure everything will balance out soon and you'll be back into your routine in no time!

Vixsin -- I bet you're excited for your cycle to get back to normal. I've never been comfortable with most forms of birth control...they've always made me feel out of whack. Good luck getting your morning run in. I'm REALLY enjoying my morning workouts as well. It's a great start to the day and the ONLY way I KNOW I'll get my exercise in!

Congrats on the loss!

Down to 255.6! TOM came yesterday so im guessing its from that but I also didnt eat a lot of calories, .6 more and I will have lost 50lbs! Saturday will be fun because if anyone asks I can say I lost 50lbs :) I told my mom and she thinks I lost more before because she thinks I weighed more then my start weight wish I knew

Bulletproof -- I'm seeing a few ladies lose weight when TOM comes but I'm always the opposite. Yay on the new loss! GREAT JOB!

Kiyo -- woo hoo! Keep up the good work!

Ona -- Thanks for the encouragement. Great job yourself!

Reptogirl -- Nice!!

FitGirly -- I started with that online tracker too and loved that they had an app. I recently switched to MyFitnessPal - I found the Food Tracking portion to be much easier to use but that's just me. Good luck with it and CONGRATS on the sweet loss!

Matilda -- You can do it! Way to stick with it!!

25:249.1 Okay, finally seeing a bit of a change. Cautiously optimistic. Didn't get my exercise in yesterday, the game was on (GOOOOO CANUCKS!) and wow what a game! Am hoping to get it done this weekend sometime.

Vixsin and Jami I applaud you ... I have a friend that gets up faithfully at 4am to work out. I just can't do it or maybe I could if I went to bed at a descent hour and slept through the night, hummm :D

Jami good job on the 1.1lbs GONE :) yes YAY YOU!!! ... about the pizza and taco bell :) the taco bell didn't bother ne as much as the pizza. I am so glad I didn't give in to it. I could have easily had half of a pie :D (licking my lips) :) TOM came for me, the second time this month, sucks!

Bullet early CONGRATS on 50lbs GONE :woohoo:

Kiyoshima good job on the 1.5lbs GONE :)

Hey MS. Ona good to see you, You go GIRL 186 :woohoo: Thanks on the avatar ... I guess I've set a new record it's been there a couple of day :D

Hey Matilda I see you're refocusing ... I need to stay focused. Best of luck to you with your goals and to all of us :)

Hi eclipse

repto good job on the 1.4lbs GONE :)

Gale compliments are the greatest, people see what we don't :)

Roxy good job on the 1.4lbs GONE :)

Rainbow good job on the 2lbs GONE :)

I had a good weigh in down 1.2 at 177.4 so that was a plus since I am bloated like crazy. Pretty OP so far, gotta get about 40 more ounces of water in though. ETA - total calories 1572 ... 372 more than what the doctor wants, went overboard on the saltines.

Hello to everyone I missed, Have a great everning!

Good Morning, Everyone!

The scale is down this morning. Again, since we are going out of town this weekend, I'm not worrying about it. I have a plan for the weekend and I plan to stay on plan. But, you know how it is when you are traveling or out of town. You are out of your element and there are things out of your control. I will do the best that I can do. My exercise will be swimming. The hotel also has some cardio equipment. I will choose swimming over equipment any day! Once I get back home, and my weight stabilizes (from the water weight, you know what happens with the water weight. ;)) I will evaluate my food/exercise program, if that seems necessary. I was really hoping that I could keep things the same. We'll see.

Calories for yesterday: 1440 + :coffee:

Weigh In: 144

23:
24: 217.5 (-0) TOM Stupid period!! oh well it's a woman's burden lol

Scale down again 1.5 to 202.1...

Love Nooo! we're not trying. I just felt like I'd been on it for quite some time and that maybe it was the reason for a few things, including why I've been bouncing between the same 10 lbs.

UP .6 this morning. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why, my steps were over 10,000 . . . I'm averaging 13,000 with walking Jack to daycare and back, my calories were on point . . . . until I realised my water wasnt. I only drank half of what i normally do so i'm hoping its water retention.

hmmmmmmm

I am up another pound to 193.2 today. Pardon me whilst I roll my eyes...

I just have to say that THANK GOD I weigh daily and have my spreadsheet. I have been all OVER that thing these last few days and sure enough the gains started this time last month too.

Had a great 20 minute run last night. I am also SUPER sore and still exhausted. I still haven't had a good night's sleep this week. All factors for the number on the scale.

I am on plan. I know my whooshes are coming. I will not falter from my plan.

Yeesh...TOM is killing me this month. No gym workout in two days (morning bloodwork yesterday and KILLER cramps this morning). I am REALLY looking forward to getting my bloodwork back. I've never had cholesterol problems but my triglycerides were slightly elevated and my HDL has always been low so I'm anxious to see if there is improvement.

I'm glad to see the downtrending continuing, no matter how small. I was actually a little under on my calories and WAY under on my water intake so I'm super happy with how things are looking!

Rainbowgirl -- GREAT JOB!!! Nice whoosh!

Love -- Pizza is my FAVORITE food too. I have to be super careful if I'm going to be around cause the smell alone is enough to awaken the hunger beast inside. Yikes! SO happy to hear that you did so well though. GREAT JOB! And SO sorry to hear that TOM is back. That's the WORST news!

Diana -- Good morning! It's probably good that you're starting little below your weight range right before a vacation! ;)

Beck -- GREAT JOB! You are rocking the weight loss since recommitting!!

Kiyo -- WOO HOO! You're trucking right along now!!

Kukkie -- Yahoo! Great job getting back on track after your vacay! You're doing great!

Coondocks -- I'm the same boat as you. WAY under on my water intake yesterday. Amazing how big a difference it makes, huh?

Roxy -- Wowza! Nice whoosh!

Vixsin -- Those whoosh's are right around the corner. Hang in there, you're doing great!!

25:249.1 Okay, finally seeing a bit of a change. Cautiously optimistic. Didn't get my exercise in yesterday, the game was on (GOOOOO CANUCKS!) and wow what a game! Am hoping to get it done this weekend sometime.
26:248.1 The whoosh continues. I'm hesitant to update my signature to include my first goal met (249; 13 pounds) in case this is just a fluke. Maybe I'll wait until Monday and see. If I'm still under 250 from now until then, I'll update it. :) I think what's really helped is drinking all that water! It's kept me full all day which means I really don't want to eat, and it's helping me flush out everything.

Thanks Jami, I can't figure out why this happens some months and others it doesn't. :?: Sorry about the cramps. I had then briefly the first night but a cold pillow tucked under my tummy helps. :) Yes downtrending is good to see :)

Went way off my plan .So totally disgusted with myself , At the time I didn't mind because i was covering with exercise thinking that if I did just a little more I would been the safe side. But then it hit me , I lied to myself and cheated myself , me myself and I . And I have no tolerance for "liars or "quitters" but isnt that exactly that ???, I lied saying it would be o.k when I knew better. And I threw all that hard work away. How can it be o.k to cheat on a diet , and this is not the first time , for years I wanted this and have been blaming everything and everyone I could out of guilt , blaming for my unhappiness. It was me all along and I did it again . But you know what I just made Myself unhappy. I have none to blame i could have said no. I chose not to. I know it may not seem that big of a deal to others.
But how can it be that it is o.k to do this and not OK for someone in school to cheat , it is still for self improvement , and character. I stole from myself ,
if someone constantly lies , do we give them another chance ???? No because we believe they wont stop , even if the lies were not meant to hurt . So why is it o.k to keep cheating on a diet?
Sorry ladies , very very very rough time here.

Morning all

Somehow I'm miraculously down. Must be all that sugar leaving my system. Plus, I've realized over the past few months that I gain/bloat during ovulation as opposed to TOM, so I think I'm on my way down from that. Still up from before the wedding, but happy to be getting back on track.

I'll be in during the weekend to catch up with everyone! Have a great holiday weekend!! Stay strong :carrot:

PS - Openup, stay strong. I have tough days like this too, but don't beat yourself up so much. Try to work through it and remember we're here

Down this morning but quite sure what to, I saw 200.4 and 201.4 and I didn't get back on because I was so achy and crampy. In any case, down is down, we'll see tomorrow. TOM arrived in full force last night and mannnn let me tell you, I did NOT miss the cramps, moods or cravings while I was on the pill. *sigh* But it's only for a few days right. So I'll get over it

Diana have a fabulous time away!

openup don't be too hard on yourself. We all have tough days, but just remember you're part of a fabulous and safe group here, where you will not be judged, only supported. Do you keep a food journal? It may help to start writing what you're eating down along with what you were feeling when you ate it. That may help you pinpoint some of the reasons why you feel like you can't follow through.

Future I used to be like that before the pill too, gain during ovulation, whoosh during TOM.

For all my friends in the US, have a fabulous long weekend

I am down .2 to 173.2. Still crazy busy and no time for personals, but love you all. For those that are curious about how the adoption stuff is going, we have a meeting on Tuesday to go over things with the caseworker and will hopefully be scheduling the homestudy then.

Have a fantabulous Friday everyone!

171.4 this morning . . . . Im really getting confused as to whats going on here.
TOM is not coming around for another 10 days, I got in a lot of walking yesterday, ate clean, drank enough water and I even got a decent amount of unbroken sleep.
The only thing I can think of is that I've been living under a good calorie level for so long my system is 're-booting' to a more realistic level of food. It's healthy food, but it's more than I've been eating for longer than I would like to admit.
Grrrrrr . . . . motivation to get a good weight lifitng program back in place. I can't seem to keep up with that unless I have a DVD or laid out prgram right infront of me. Blah.

Kukkie - Down is down. I've been so blessed that I've only had bad cramps maybe 5 times in my life and even that wasn't until after I had Jack. I give kudos to any and all women that deal with that on a monthly basis.

Jami - I can't believe how much of a difference the water really makes, its crazy, but I'll never go another day thinking I can have only 3 glasses and expect it to not show up. And uhmm . . . Holy crap fantastic month for you!! WOW!!

OpenUp - Don't beat yourself up, it happens to us all and the added stress of whatever you have going on makes it all the more difficult. Vent as much as you need to, deep breaths and keep taking one step forward, you can do this.

Diana - TGIF indeed, been a hellish week and I'm glad it's over :) You're a maintaining rockstar . . . just had to throw that out there :)

Future - Its no miracle you're down, you're taking care of business lady!! Keep at it and watch those numbers fall!!

Love - thanks for the hug :) I'll get threw this all, I always do. Congrats on the .2, I don't think these 170's are going to be sticking around long with you at all!

Vix - When you're done with your whoosh can you send it my way ;) I know I'm stronger than I realize most days, blessed to be Jack's Mom . . . I feel almost guilty that I don't feel bad for Jack not having that influence as his 'male role model' but I do feel bad for S, Jack is an amzing little man full of love, empathy, energy and laughter . . . why would some one walk away from that?

Repto - CONGRATS!!! on the 50lbs WOOT WOOT!!!!

BBL, I should probably do some work . . . . I have a huge stack of cheques to send out . . . . I don't really want to but a few people might get upset if I don't ha ha

I'll out of town through Sunday so I won't weigh in again until Monday. That said, I'm not expecting anymore whoosh's and will be happy to be able to hold on at 270.

Stayed the same today. 193.2 I was happy not to see a gain. LOL I managed to get some sleep last night so that is a victory as well. No exercise for me yesterday. I am planning on a run today and also another solid night's sleep. I have a very busy day tomorrow and I want to be ready for it.

Despite what a rough month this has been in my offline life, there are positive things going on around me. I am on plan and I am going to stay that way. My whooshes are coming.

Coon: You are a rockstar. Super Single Mom's are where it's at!!!!! I'll never understand the ability to walk away from something so profound either. Thankfully neither one of us will EVER have to worry about such foolishness!!! Jack knows he's the lucky one to have you!!

Happy Friday Everyone :)

openup first let me say :welcome: to you, better late than never :) Now whew you are really being hard on yourself and the spiel you gave yourself is punishment enough. I think you have learned your lesson and I must tell you a lot of what you said hit home for me. I have done exactly what you said to myself over and over again. Just plain lies (though I never thought about it like that until you said it) so thanks for the wake up :) ... but I always come back to 3FC and let the motivation and inspiration of the ladies here pick me back up again and again. The key to starting over is checking in as often as possible (talking to myself here too). Sometimes it's only for a day or two but it's a day OP that can lead to many more. Clear your mind, hug yourself, say to yourself I can and will do better and start from there (again talking to myself one day I'll learn it pays to listen :)). Smile and feel better. We're here always BIG

Diana have a wonderful weekend ... I know you'll do just fine

Hi FutureThoughts

Kukkie yes down is down :) Sorry about the cramps

Same to you Roxy!

Coondocks maybe calorie cycle for a week or two and see how that works. Personally I think you are doing great, your whoosh is coming. I need to get on the ball with some form of workout. No matter what I say I just don't do it. I thought having the treadmill would make it easier but after 20 minutes I am exhausted. Yet I can go outside and walk for a hour what gives?

Jami have a wonderful weekend :) Can you take ibuprofen for the cramps. My daughter has them really bad like I use to when I was young, so bad I take the ibuprofen to her so she can get out of bed. My poor baby. Mine don't last as long and aren't as bad as hers. Thank goodness with age something improved :)

Vixsin great outlook, you're working hard so they are definitely coming :)

Ok my sad update :( I need a kick in the butt,

I am up to 180 this morning up 2.8lbs my rings are tight also. Coondocks when you said I'd be out of the 170's I thought, HA :D ... I think I must have snacked on everything I could think of yesterday, all the right portion but nothing healthy. Total calories in snacks yesterday 650, 701mg of sodium. I am gonna try to do better today. But between 1:30 and 3:30 I just want everything and it's almost everyday that I feel this way. But I am thinking (really hoping) today is gonna be a good day :)

Just realized that I haven't had a workout in almost two weeks, first with the vacay and then the catching up at work. Going to have to rectify this over the weekend. I should do it today, but realistically I'm having drinks with my sort of sister-in-law tonight (she's my hubby's cousin, but he doesn't have a sister and we're really close, so yeah SIL she is) and omg I just realized I have a bridal shower tomorrow. My head is full of cobwebs lately...

hi ladies!!!

i've missed you guys! :D

weigh in after honeymoon/wedding fun was 274.6. which is a gain of 6.7 pounds over the course of a week, but considering the lack of water and the plethora of sodium consumed i'm hoping most of it is water and will come off quickly this week.

*fingers crossed*

i've got a lot of reading to do!

oh PS... a cheesy photo from the reception (i'll have more once the photographer is finished making them spiffy, this was one my best friend took)

27:249.0 Little bit of a gain but I'm not surprised. I hate a rather large steak last night, with 2 cobs of corn, potatoes, a can of Coke, and a piece of Nilla's birthday cake, so I wasn't expecting to lose much. Today back on schedule :) And thanks for the congrats!

Aw, Mandy - congrats! Honestly, I don't think your weight gain on your honey moon was too bad. I remember gaining at least 10 lbs on mine (back in 1999). It was mostly water weight, though, and came off quickly.

I'm up .4 lbs today to 152.6, but I'm sick as a dog today with some sort of cold, so I'm just going to assume that has something to do with it. My youngest two kids have been pretty sick, too, and my little guy (5 years old) sounds like a croaking frog when he tries to talk. I feel so bad for him, but it's hard not to giggle when he talks because he sounds so dang cute .

Mandy!!! congratulations lady!!! Did everything go the way you wanted it???

well if i list everything that went wrong it might just sound like it was a disaster...

my hair wouldn't hold a curl, my girls didn't have time to work on their hair, the flowers were pink instead of purple, the hymn got skipped, they listed my parents under 'parents of the groom' and his parents under 'parents of the bride' and we had to have a stand in groomsman in a military uniform instead of a tux.

but in my mind, small potatoes. it was a beautiful ceremony, with a hugely fun reception and a perfect honeymoon. i was surrounded by family and friends and so many people that love us. everything is official, i'm going to the social security office and the DMV on thursday to take the last few steps to changing my last name, curtis is all moved in, and today we put all the money-gifts into the bank into our shiny new joint checking account.

Mandy small potatoes indeed, overall sounds like you had a fabulous time and so you should have! Congratulatons again, I can just hear the happiness exuding through your words :) PS. your ring is absolutely gorgeous!!!

I'm at 201.6 this morning, slightly up but no biggie because I did have some extra sodium and a couple of martinis last night. Flushing it out with water today and I'll just be extra careful about what I eat at the bridal shower, no sugary pastries for me!

Gale,great whoosh girl :high:

Rennie, hope your stomachs feeling better today  when i don't eat enough at breakfast and Lunch or especially if i eat some carbs early in the day( like cereal for breakfast :dizzy:) I have craving between 1:30-3:00 :dunno:

All along my Journey, I've eaten by the rule( i read somewhere) of eating breakfast like a king(a big one) lunch like a Queen(a medium one) then dinner like a poor man(a small one) and that helped alot. But now (since i don't need that much food) I'm eating 6 small meals (every 2 hours) and that seems to work good for me.

Eclipse, wow, hope you all are feeling better today

Roxy,good luck Tuesday

Coon,i think you're doing great with your weight considering everything you have going on  you're holding it together and it hasn't gotten out of control.Could be just a little plateau, you'll be rewarded soon.

I'm feeling a little better today - still obviously have a cold. My little guy's voice is a little better, but I think it's a "watch TV and play the gameboy/wii" kinda day for all of us. You need those every now and then, right?

As for me, I'm down .6 today, back to my low from a few days ago of 152. I got on and off the scale a few times hoping to see 151.something, but no dice  .

Hi Friends!

Sorry that I dropped off the radar for a while. I was doing really well on my plan until the "honeymoon" phase wore off. I finally reached the point where it was time to start dealing with the negative thoughts and emotions that lead to me being obese. I was really struggling with feeling deprived, overwhelmed and grieving for the loss of my comfort food. The realization that I can't use food anymore to soothe my emotions, to de-stress and to relax made me incredibly sad and I started to panic. I started to wonder if I really wanted to do this for the rest of my life. The answer is 'Yes.' I want this! I want to be healthy, to feel wonderful and energetic and to look great! I've decided to start journaling and to actually deal with the negative emotions instead of stuffing them down. I'm working on all aspects of my health...physical, mental and spiritual. So, I'm back here to stay. I need the accountability with you all and to share this journey with people who get it.

Mandy - You were such a beautiful bride! And, every wedding has things that go wrong. My ushers sat everyone on my side of the church. The whole other side was almost empty! And, my husband's boutonniere was switched with his best man's, the guest book went missing and has never been found and the photographer did not include my sister-in-law in any of the pictures. The most important thing is that you enjoyed your day!

Have a great on-plan day.

I am the same today, 173.2. I'm shocked since I had country fried potatoes with chili and cheese on them last night, and that was on top of the rest of my day's food. Considering the fact that I burned about 3,400 calories, the 2,140 I ate were ok, but I figured the sodium from the giant plate of potatoes would kill me. I had 4,056mg yesterday! I won't complain though. Today I may even have some crazy thing called a doughnut burger. Good lord!

Coondocks - I'm sorry Mr. Scale is being a jerk. I think the idea of your body doing a system re-boot sounds reasonable. I hope it finishes soon.

JamiSue - I feel you on the cramp issues. I have never had such issues and then the last few months have been terrible. I hope you're feeling better.

Vixsin - You are awesome staying on plan through all that mess. Good job!

Mandy - Congrats! I think the 'cheesy' photo is adorable, you guys look great. Some things are definitely worth the scale being up temporarily, and we know it will be temporary.

Ona - Thank you

I hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend or just a great weekend for those who are not in the Memorial Day zone :)

28:249.8 I didn't eat all that well yesterday; was trying to get ahold of the mess I call my apartment and I'm 200 minutes (almost a week) behind on my quota and have only today and half of tomorrow to get it done, so nutrition went out the window.

I had a little over 2,000 calories and a little under 5,000mg of sodium yesterday and I am only up .6 to 173.8. I can't complain about that. I ate a doughnut burger and an entire smoked turkey leg. I guess if you are going to indulge in such things it should be chased with lots of water, I had over 100 ounces, and it should be done when you are spending the day out in the heat, constantly moving and sweating. :)

Hey everyone! I'm back from Vegas. I was completely and totally off plan, I did forgo carbs here and there, but I ate way more of them than I normally would. I left Vegas last night at 11:30 pm and arrived home this morning at 6:30 --- and in that time I might have slept for about 2 hours max. I decided to weigh in now anyway, just to get a feel for where I am...oh boy. I'm at 222.3, so a 14lb gain in a week. What!? Yes, that's what my scale says. I'm sure I'll shed 3-4 lbs quickly because I haven't slept and I'm blown up like a balloon from flying and all the crappy sodium filled food, but still I think there is a good 10lb gain there.

Hi Friends!

Angie - Welcome back! Sounds like you had a great time. I have a feeling that a majority of that 14 pounds is water weight.
Roxy - doughnut burger? What in the world is that? LOL
Vixsin - enjoy that new command center! I'm doing some much needed "spring" cleaning in my home. It has just gotten out of control around here lately. I blame the Zumba. I'd rather go to Zumba than clean! :D

Some NSV's for me. I'm now in 2X shirts from 3X and 42D bras from 44DD. Most of my weight is coming off the top half of my body! I have lost some inches on the bottom half, too. Just not enough for smaller pants. I've lost 3 inches off the waist, 4 1/2 off the hips and 2 off the thighs. Not too shabby for 26 pounds!

Have a great on-plan day!

hello everyone!

i've decided to stay off the scale until wednesday the 1st of june, to give myself a couple days to flush out some of the sodium gain and to get myself back into the swing of things. hopefully those few days will get me back on track and i will figure out how much work i will need to re-do.

i don't regret a single thing from the last 10 days, i've never been happier. totally worth a backslide of a couple weeks. :D

Rhonda -- I sincerely hope it's a lot of sodium/water. We did an incredible amount of walking, I estimated 15 km, but I think that's very conservative, it was probably more like 25 km at least.

Down .2 to 191.6. Went to a cookout today and was very pleased with my choices. I had a couple of grilled chicken wings, 2 small pork ribs, a pc of kielbasa, a sm handful of chips and a HUGE helping of tossed salad with lite italian dressing. I even had some dessert today too! I went ahead and had a very small taste of 3 things that were there. It was SO GOOD!!!! I never have dessert at cookouts and stuff and today I decided tht I wanted it so it was wonderfully delicious. No workout tonight. I'm tired from all of my efforts yesterday. I'm looking forward to a good night's sleep.

do you know why my husband is wonderful??

i had the munchies and wanted to nibble on a crumb cake muffin that he had leftover from a charity bake sale... and he somehow turned that into me working out. i don't know how he did it, but i avoided the lovely smelling baked goods and got in a 2 mile 'brisk walk' workout with one of my leslie sansone dvds.

Hi Everyone!

I'm back and had a wonderful mini vacation. I swam every day for my exercise. Of course I had some really good food. I will get on the scale tomorrow. I'm sure I will have a gain. I will deal with it, though. I made some good choices and some not so good choices. ;) The bad choices were the shared desserts and bread service that came with our dinners. Those evil carbs and don't forget about the evil sodium!

I would like to say that losing weight made a huge difference in my vacation. I really enjoyed myself wearing shorts, swimming, etc. It would not have been like this if I was 140+ pounds heavier. I felt so Blessed to be able to enjoy myself the way I did.

Angie

Kukkie -- Sorry about the gain...weird timing.

Jeri -- OMG - get a new battery!! You are too close to goal to not know for sure :D

Aimee -- I guess I'll see tomorrow how things turn out. I'm still hopeful and kept my sodium pretty low today. Congrats on your return to the scale; much more successful than mine. :)

Roxy -- Chinese food is evil -- first, it tastes so darn good, and then even if you eat fairly well the secret sodium in it messes you up!

Diana -- Your vacation sounds wonderful! I'm so happy for you that you could take your new body out for a test drive like that and have a great time. Darn sodium, darn carbs!

The scale is playing tricks on me! Down 1.3 today to 200.7 but I saw the number go back into Onederland. Decided to play it safe and take the higher number, which is still a loss. But it means I have a 0.2 gain for May! Not bad considering I spent half of the month on vacation eating not so healthy and not having a decent workout in a while. June promises to be a good month--do we have a name or thread yet?

Angie are you ready for the heat today? They're saying up to 42 with the humidex! Yikes. Stay hydrated my friend! I'm sure the sweat and water will take whatever we have left of our vacation weight with it

Yet another month ending in sheer sillyness. 173 . . . not even sure how that happened so I'm going to use the excuse that I'm retaining water from the extra walking up hill I did over the weekend. My treadmill has a nifty little 'rolling hill/hike' setting . . . really feel it in the derierre.

Bring on june . . . 32 years old this month, too much time spent on ridiculousness, time to make the rest of this year mine.

Where is the june thread?

gonna do my best to end the month of a good note! I've been really lax since the day after the wedding, after reaching my first mini-goal. It's a mental thing, but I'm stronger than I used to be. I will get back on track today -- not tomorrow but today! ...it's just so much harder to start again once you pause :(

I got sick yesterday which helped my WI today - lol - so i'm ending the month at 211. That's up just over 1 pound from my low this month. I'll get back to that low and keep on going!

Enjoy the last day of May everyone! Have a strong, on plan day :carrot:

-I exit you smaller in size but bigger in confidence than I entered! :D

Good Job to everyone for participating in this thread this month! Together we're each getting smaller  Thanks for the support!!

My scale is also not giving me the low battery indicator anymore. I'm still going to change the batteries to be sure though!

Hi Everyone

I just realized that June 1st is my Anniversary date with 3FC. I have lost a total of 16.6lbs this year which doesn't sound bad unless I look back at the fact that I had lost 30lbs on 9/25/10.

My June 2010 stats are beginning weight: 195.4; ending weight: 183.2, Total loss for JUNE 2010: -12.2lbs. How interesting! I need to find my food journal from last year to see what I was eating. I'm gonna shoot for 8.8lbs this month and just maybe I can get out of the 170's.

26 ~ 177.2 (-0.2) calories 1677 TTOM
27 ~ 180.0 (+2.8) calories 1117 TTOM
28 ~ 177.4 (-2.6) calories 1922 TTOM ... cookout
29 ~ 179.4 (+2.0) calories 1217 light spotting ... ac out since Friday
30 ~ 178.8 (-0.6) calories 1218 still spotting
31 ~ 178.8 (same)

I've got to do better. I'll catch up on personals later today.

Have a great day Everyone!

I weighed in today at 178.8

Wow! I’m down 5.3 today to 213 -- which means I get to post a loss for this month….although it’s a measly .4 Still, I’m simply amazed that I’ve lost 9.3 lbs in 2 days…just shows what sodium can do! I’m sure I’m now at my new actual weight, and I have to re-lose these last 5lbs from Vegas. I’m on plan and motivated to lose the next 40lbs, 1 pound at a time!

Diana -- The highlight had to be just enjoying myself and only worrying about me. I haven’t been able to do that in a long long time…even when I have an evening out without Cameron I have to always act with caution because of course, I have to drive home, or take care of him the next morning. I really enjoyed having a few drinks and knowing that even if I felt like poop the next day, that would be the biggest consequence. I felt like I was 25 again :D I danced, I drank, I stayed up too late…it was wonderful! (Oh yeah, and we worked during the day, but that’s hardly worth mentioning…lol) Now to behave like a responsible 40yr old again and get this vaca-weight off!

Jeri -- Anxiously awaiting your weigh in today (or tomorrow) :carrot:

Reptogirl -- Sorry for the overall gain, but consider what you’ve done in the last 2 weeks instead. Hope June will bring big losses for you!

Quillie -- Congrats on your loss for May!

Beck -- Wowowowowow! What a great month for you…congratulations on that and on being halfway to your goal!

Kukkie -- I’m going to be sitting outside in that heat tonight…Cameron has a t-ball game. We’ll be bringing lots and lots of water! Oh if only it would take the last of my vacation weight with it! I’m trying to think about a name for the June thread, but nothing is coming to me.

Vixsin -- Great month!

Coondocks -- Back to incline walks, great job!

FutureThoughts -- Best to get right back on track, that will bring you back to your low in no time. Good luck in June!

Ona -- Hi! Good job in May. I can’t wait to see you hit 180 in June!

Jeri -- Good job on your .2 -- not far now!

TOTAL LOST -10.0

Wow, what a month! Feel so much better being back home and back OP following a rough holiday weekend! I enjoyed the extra time off work but did not enjoy the days off-plan! TOM really kicked my butt this month. I was not prepared to feel so incredibly tired and the cramps...whew! Considering that I swung back and forth 6-7 lbs during last month's TOM - this 3 lb swing is a relief! :D Totally stoked about my loss this month! I learned A LOT and I'm ready to take those lessons with me so I can show June who's boss too! :club:

I do have a couple NSVs to share this morning. I had routine bloodwork done last week and received some great news. My Total Cholesterol is 140 (s/b under 200) and is down 36 points from January! My Triglycerides are 150 (s/b under 150) and is down 12 points from January! SO FREAKING happy to see these numbers. Heart and artery disease run rampant in family - on both sides! It's such a serious genetic health issue, that my younger brother died from a heart attack just over four years ago...he was only 24 years old! That was a very sad and unfortunate wake up call for me. I'm thankful that this horrifying loss probably saved my life...

Mandy -- WELCOME back and congratulations!!! We missed you and that picture is so NOT cheesy...it's adorable! I'm sure you're bummed about the gain but I think you did amazing and yes, I know it's gonna fly off now that you're back OP! Your rings are SO beautiful. Unique and elegant! I love your attitude about the gain - I think you're perspective is right on!

Gale -- Big congrats on your whoosh just before the weekend! I'm so happy for you!!!

Rhonda -- So proud of you for listening to yourself and then saying "nope", not gonna go there! I love your idea of journaling how you're feeling. I think that's the only way we can finally rid ourselves of those crazy thoughts. To let them come, feel them for a moment, analyze them and then say no. Congrats on the NSVs!! That's some serious inches lost!!

Roxy -- Yes, I'm feeling much better now that TOM is long gone. I've always had rough back cramps - honestly, it feels like early labor...every month! Grrrr. This month was a doosey though. Positive note - learned more about myself and THAT is a very good thing! :)

Vixsin -- Nice whoosh!! Enjoy your "command center!" Nice loss in May!!!

Angie -- I agree with the others in that much of that 14 lbs has got to be sodium. It'll come off quick! I swell when I fly too. Have fun getting back OP...you're going to feel much better soon! Congrats on the whoosh!

Kukkie -- I don't know why, but I gain when TOM leaves too! :(

Aimee -- Good luck on the WI!!

Diana -- Even your "bad" choices don't sound so bad. Bread service is bane of my existence but "shared" desserts is better than not shared desserts! ;) So glad you enjoyed your new healthier body on this most recent vacation!

Quille -- Great job on this month's loss and welcome to the 100lb club!

Beck -- WOO HOO! You are doing amazing!!

FutureThoughts -- I like you end of month summary. Congratulations!!

OnaMi -- Great overall loss this month!!

Jeri -- Congratulations on making it to a new los this month!! SO happy for you!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE for making it through another month!! Whether you're smaller, bigger or the same - you're still here!! See you all on the June thread!

Today I am 177, up .2 instead of having lost some of the water from the Chinese. My hubby wanted a steak last night with bacon and bleu cheese. Far be it from me to tell a man who serves his country that he can't eat what he wants on Memorial Day, especially not one who will be deploying in the near future, so we ended up at Outback. Why do the holidays always come at the end of the month? My loss for May is 1.4

Reptogirl You still had a .4 loss for the month. Keep working your plan.

Quillie Congrats on the 3.6 pound loss!

Beck You have done a fantastic job this month! Congrats on the 16.6 pound loss this month and 70 pounds overall! :carrot:

Kukkie That's not bad at all considering your vacation. You have maintained. Nothing wrong with that.

Vixsin Congrats on the 6.4 pound loss!

Coondocks June is going to be your month! Make it happen!

Futurethoughts Sorry about you being sick yesterday. I hope you are better today. Congrats on the 3.4 pounds for the month.

Ona Congrats on the 3.2 pounds!

Eclipse Congrats on the new low!

Rennie Hi  Hang in there. You can do it.

Angie It sounds like Vegas was fantastic! I am so glad that you enjoyed yourself. Congrats on having a loss for the month.

JamiSue Congrats on the 10 pound loss! :carrot: I agree, I could have made a lot worse choices. I'll keep working on the positive changes.

Mandy I think you've done great, especially with everything you had going on. :carrot:

Fitgirlygirl Does your Outback have the new Wood Fired Grill? I love this new way of cooking they have. They don't add the extra butter to the steaks when you have them cooked with this method. Congrats on the 1.4 pounds!

This perpetual search for The Answer reached its apex a couple of years ago, when Oprah led the frenzy over The Secret. The video and accompanying book were a rehash of one of the oldest of self-help truisms—"think positive"—refreshed with a dusting of "science." The secret of The Secret was something called the Law of Attraction. As Oprah put it on the show, "It says that the energy, that the thoughts and feelings that you put out into the world, both good and bad, are exactly what is always coming back to you, so you have the life that you have created." Oprah and the teachers of The Secret, as they call themselves, did not mean this metaphorically. They explained that the universe and everything in it are made of vibrating energy, and by thinking positively we can actually "attract" the positive vibrations of the universe and bend them to our will. "You're a field of energy in a larger field of energy," one of The Secret's teachers said. "And like attracts like, and that's very, very scientific."

By harnessing this powerful science, they said, we can have anything we want—happiness, love, fabulous wealth. This was so inspiring to Oprah that she devoted three shows to the product and appeared on Larry King to talk it up more. She said it encapsulated everything she believes. "I've been talking about this for years on my show," she said. "I just never called it The Secret."
On one of the Secret shows, Oprah gave an example of the scientific power of the concept. She said that once, while she was hosting an episode about a man who could blow really big soap bubbles, she was thinking to herself, "Gee, that looks fun. I would like to blow some bubbles." When she returned to her office after the show, there, on her desk, was a silver Tiffany bubble blower. "So I call my assistant," Oprah told the audience. "I say, 'Did you just run out and get me some bubbles? 'Cause I got bubbles by my desk.' And she says, 'No, the bubbles were always there. I bought you bubbles for your birthday and you didn't notice them until today'

There are many lessons that might be drawn from this anecdote. One is that if you give Oprah a thoughtful gift, she may not bother to notice it or thank you for it. This is not the lesson Oprah took away from her story. Because the way she sees it, her assistant hadn't really given her the gift at all. She gave it to herself. Using the power of The Secret, she said, "I had called in some bubbles."

So my take on the secret is , stay positive think positive and positive things might happen , its known as " positive thinking " ,
but it lost me on this point ...

Rhonda Byrne advises that you can keep your weight down by avoiding the sight of fat people. "If you see people who are overweight, do not observe them, but immediately switch your mind to the picture of you in your perfect body and feel it." Don't worry about calories, just get rid of that 150-pound sorority sister down the hall.
I will take time and re-read it but i find many things wrong here...
If you think yourself healthy , you are healthy , so How did i get sick , and that must of meant i wanted my husband to die?????

Lots of off plan foods and TONS of salt this weekend coupled with only one trip to the gym (and I won't be able to go until Thursday) makes for a cruddy weigh in today. We had my in-laws in town for 4 days and while I cooked mostly OP foods, a calorie bomb of a chocolate cake did sneak in there (700 calories/slice!) So, up 1.6 from my low and recording a loss of 1.6 this month. It's better than the last months where I've had no loss or a gain. I do believe this is the first month that I've ended in the 230's though. Yay!

I aimed at 7lb lost in May and fell just a little short of it. Finishing the month at 175.3lb, that is a 6.7lb loss! hurray! I haven't lost this much in one month in a long long time! :)

Needless to say, I'm joining in here for June as well! Even if I haven't posted a lot (which I'll try to change next month), this is a great way to keep track!
