Default Blah, blah, blah!!!!!

I went to the doc the other day. Found out I weight 275 lbs instead of 240.
I haven't added any inches though, it's weird. My clothes still fit the same! I was thinking, I may have weight-gain due to not being on birth control anymore. Possibly water weight, maybe? I don't know. I just know I haven't expanded physically!

Will walking do alot for me?

Any movement will do a lot for you. Not just for weight loss either. So... I'm a little confused.... where did the 240 number come from? Was that the weight you were when you last weighed yourself and because you didn't feel or see a difference physically you assumed you were still at that weight? I doubt you are carrying 35 pounds of water weight, sorry to say. Maybe 5-8 pounds (at the most) is from water. You are very tall so gaining 35 is completely different for you than it would be for me and that's probably why you haven't seen too much difference in how your clothes fit. And for me, I don't measure myself accurately because I can never seem to get the tape measure in the same place each time! LOL

I don't know. But regardless of whether you are 240 or 275, eating right and exercising is the path you want to be on!

Good luck hun.

I was at 260, lost 20 lbs, and then 2 months later when to the dr (a few weeks ago) and was at 275! I hadn't changed anything... so on so forth...oh well :P

I really don't know any of my measurements because I dont have a tape measure. I took my laptop charger cord and measured each inch with the finger method... HAHA. I'm probably way off! I'm going to do the 365 miles in 365 days thing here on 3FC. & Also going to try P90X!

Walking can't be touted enough! I started out with walking a few minutes each day and gradually moved it up to the hour I walk these days. Any movement's good for weight loss, as long as you stick with it and curb a few empty calories at meals. Small changes make big progress in time.

I don't tink you have 35 pounds of water weight. When was the last time you weighed 240 ? Those nasty pounds have a way of creeping up if we aren't vigilant. Get a tape measure and have somebody help you measure. Get a scale if you don't have one and keep a record of your measurements and weight so you can see what is happening'

I would start slower than p90X if you aren't already a seasoned exerciser. P90X is an extreme fitness program, has a fitness test requirement to begin, and is costly. Honestly, I'd start walking at least 30 minutes a day and work shaping up your diet. If you hit the exercise too hard at first, you're probably gonna burn out instead of change your bad habits to healthier ones, that's what it takes in the long haul to change your weight for good.

BTW it doesn't matter where you start or your pace at first, just so long as you start and keep learning and growing in your health and fitness.
