WW Clubs and Groups - Thursday Weigh-in Results--a New Year

Happy New Year!!!!!!!
Welcome to the thread to anyone new. We post our weekly scale results here.

I'm "thinking" about going to weigh in tomorrow. I might not get to because our kitty isn't feeling well and I'll call the vet in the morning. He (the cat) is getting up in years and I guess will be ailing more. I hate that!

Good luck to all that do weigh this week.

Thanks for starting a new thread, Tina!

Happy New Years! I'm weighing in tomorrow. Hope everyone has good luck at the scales!

Tina, I hope your kitty is ok. I'm a cat lover (have 5 myself) I know how it is when one of your babies is sick.

So how did everyone do who weighed in today?
Susan, you said you were going to weigh today, so, did you lose more weight? :)

I didn't make it today but will go tomorrow.
I took my cat to the vet this morning. He didn't have fever or any infection. They ran a thyroid test. The results won't be back until tomorrow. The vet said that lots of older kitties need thyroid medication. I find that very interesting. David (our son) told me it was hereditary since I take Synthroid. I kind of doubt that. :)

I'll look for more posts.

Tina,
I forgot to weigh this morning (good excuse, huh?) Last time I weighed earlier in the week, I had gained it all back. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Funny, my dog has thyroid problems too. It's a family thing! Let me know how your kitty is when you get the results back.

Good luck to everyone.

Ok, I weighed this morning and I was up 1.5 pounds. However, I feel real bloated and TOM is just around the corner.

How is everyone else doing? I hope you all have a great loss!!

Didn't WI this week. I hate to even get on the scale. I don't think I've done terrible but I'm sure I'm up some. I will probably WI next week. I think I might try it on my own at home for one session. I gave myself a time off last year and it did me some good not to have to WI every week. I still had lost 3 lbs by the time I rejoined the next session. I think the winter off will be ok. I still will WI at home and do the program and if I start to mess up too much then I will rejoin sooner. I guess I'll wait and see how I feel in a couple weeks, that's when this season pass is up. Hope everyone has a great week end....Sis

I was up 1/2 at weigh in. Thought it would be more than that the way I've been eating!! Glad that it wasn't though.

Hope things work out for the kitty! I know how I get when our dog is sick.

Hi.
I weighed in Friday and was up 1 pound which isn't that bad.

Sis, do whatever is best for you. Like you said, you can always get yourself back to meetings if the home thing doesn't work.

Tammy, 1/2 isn't bad at all!!!!!

Report on my cat----He checked out okay, no thyroid problems. However, he's still favoring his back right leg. We don't know if it's a muscle injury or what.
I can take him in some time this week and they'll x-ray his legs and back. I'm going to wait a few more days before making him go through that ordeal. He is eating better now.
We'll see.
Thank you for your concern. Our pets are also our children, aren't they!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. It's beautiful here. I think it's in the high 60's right now.

Hi Ladies,
Tammy, 1/2 pound is nothing. It will come off this week.
Tina, 1 pound isn't bad either. It'll come quickly. Glad your Kitty is better!
Sis, do what works for you! You can do it!!!

How did everyone else do? Hope you had a good loss.

GOOD MORNING

May I join in? I weigh in on Thursdays and think it may help to post my progress here.

I weighed in on this Thursday last and showed a 1.2 pound loss which gets me started on what I want to happen this year. My long term goal is to lose a pound a week which is 52 pounds will be gone off this body come the end of 2003.

I have a charm bracelet started on which I place a sterling silver charm for each 10 pounds lost. I never have more than 10 pounds to lose at any given time and look forward to when I get to add another charm. I feed my Thin Within person.

Have a great week folks and I'll see you again on Thursday.

I am so bummed out. This is the most I have ever weighed.
286 and my goal is 145. I guess the best time to start is now.
My family needs this too, so I am going to take notes each meeting and relay it to my family so they can keep track of their own points.
I am worried about my daughter, she is 10 and 165 pounds.
I guess the best place to start now is clean out the pantry and start over.
Good Luck everyone

Dont get down on yourself...you have made the decision to do something about your weight ....celebrate that fact...you are doing something about it and I know you are on the right track. Going to the meetings and then helping your family is a great idea. You will inspire all of them.

Embrace Maggies ideas and feed the thin person within.....set realistic goals and remember inch by inch and pound by pound...you will make the weight go down.....

Okay, I'm overdoing it a little this morning. :)
I am sooooo excited because I got on my scales and had a 2 pound loss!!!
When I journal, I lose. I don't know if not eating starches morning and noon is really helping but I feel better. It's not going to continue because I need my morning cereal some days. I just wanted to try something different.
(My doc had suggested going without them altogether for 6 wks.---no way.)

Good luck to everyone who weighs in this week.

WEIGH DAY RESULTS

CONGRATULATONS to all of you who have lost this week and encouragement to to those who did not for if you keep at it you will surely be a loser.

Hey gang! Way to go on the losses!! I was down 2 pounds from last week. That was a pleasant surprise. 2 down, lots to go. lol

I tend to reset my starting point at different times, and I reset it Jan. 1. That weight was lower than it had been at the beginning of 2002, so that's progress.

I still need to journal.

I hope you have room for one more Thursday weigher. I started over again last Thursday, so today was a "week 1" result for me. I was very surprised to see I had lost 10 lbs. the first week, never had that happen before. I posted to the WW message board on Tales at the Scale and just kinda got bashed. I KNOW that it won't happen every time, I KNOW that I may not lose next week, but jeez!! At least have SOME happy things to post to me, :p !!

It looks like this might be a nicer group, so I'll just come here instead. I am 41 and live in Denver, been trying to get to a goal weight for over 20 years. Unfortunately that goal weight keeps getting farther and farther out of reach. I'm not giving up, though!!! Can't wait to get to know you kind folks.

Wow! Are we good or what!!!
Maggie, Susan, Tammy, Cynthia---great job!!!!! It sounds like most of us had losses this week.
(If you didn't have a loss, please post anyway.)

Cynthia---we are sooooo happy to have you join us.
There's nothing but positive vibes coming from this thread and the Thursday Chatters thread.

I, Tina, (sounds like a wedding) am 50'ish. Our son is grown but lives in Houston where we live. I've been a Lifetimer since '92. However , I haven't been at goal range all those years.
I'm struggling right now to get back there.
I have one geriactric (sp?) kitty who's been ill. So, you might hear me talking about him now and again. He's our "baby."

Hi all...yes Im still here ....last week I had a .4 gain....which wasnt such a surprise as it was TOM.

This week I had romance in my life....then emotional upheaval...so Im not sure what the scales will say about that.

Tina
01-15-2003, 09:22 AM
hello group, ;)

Kady, wondered where you'd been. :) Romance can have major affects on us. Try to make it work positively for you. If you are upset, mad at him, take it out on food and just eat the right things. Look at those jelly donuts and see his face and throw them aside for now.
And I go on and on. :D

Are we all weigh in in this week?????
I'll get on my scales in the morning. I'm not expecting much. Now, I know that's not the spirit.

Good luck all.

I'm a little nervous myself about tomorrow. I had such a huge loss that I know I may not lose tomorrow, yet I've been brilliantly OP for the week. It would be a bummer not to get some kind of reward for that :( . Intellectually I know that, whether or not I have a loss tomorrow, staying OP will eventually get me to my goal. But emotionally I'll be totally BUMMED if I don't. Argh!

It's a beautiful day here today, at least by the looks of it. Who knows how cold it may be, . Have a FUN day all!

Hi,
Hope everyone has a favorable weigh in.
Cynthia, you are doing soooo good.
Maggie, my fingers and toes are crossed that you'll have a good loss.

My scales show about the same as last week. I've been up and down this week. I kind of blew a loss for today when I splurged yesterday. Well, I had come home from the dermatologist office and was hurting. He froze 2 places on my face and 2 on my left leg.  My leg really hurt.
So, I sliced a banana (so far so good) and put half a can of low fat Eagle Brand on it and ate every little bit. Yummy!!!!
It was low fat.

Good luck everyone.

Tina , thanks for the support. Actually I didnt use food at all. I want to stay at the weight I am ( actually lose) and no man is worth that. LOL Actually I was quite proud of myself as in the past I would have eaten my way to feeling better.

Chillin...I do pretty much the same things week in and week out with wildly varying results at the scale. I have lost up to 5.8 pounds in a week to a gain of 3.6. I did nothing different in those weeks. I have realized that as long as I do what I am supposed to do the scale will eventually show it. IN the meantime dont get down on yourself.

WI this week showed a loss of 2.4 which brings me to a total of 98 lbs lost so far.....100 lbs here I come

Maggie

GOOD MORNING MY LOSER FRIENDS

The Iron Monster said I am down another 1.4 POUNDS to bring my total for this year to 5.6 for which I am so pleased.

CONGRATULATIONS to all of you who are trying to lose weight this year. Keep your FOCUS and you will be so pleased with what happens and happy that you did when December rolls around.

I wish a good week for each and every one of you.

I down 4 pounds!!!!

Maggie, you crack me up with your "Good Morning My Loser Friends." :) This is the only place where we would let others call us losers. That's my goal... to be a big LOSER. :) You are doing GREAT!!!!

Tina, same is good!!! Now that is a new one for me.. banana with eagle brand milk. I think it one that I better not try, I just might like it.:chin:

Kady, WAY COOL almost to 100 pounds. How much more do you want to lose? You are doing wonderful. :goodvibes:

Cindy, you are doing awesome. Isn't it funny how we beat ourselves up over what that little scale says. It can make me have a good day or a bad day!! Even if you don't lose, you could be losing inchings!!:wizard:

Hope everyone is a loser today!

I am pleased to say that I lost 2 pounds!!! Going to Curves and doing the Walking off the Pounds video must be doing something for me!!

I weighed and measured at Curves yesterday. Since right before Thanksigiving, I've lost 10 pounds and 8 inches!! I was happy. Also the body fat percentage was down on the little machine that they use.

I HAVE BEEN JOURNALING ALL WEEK!!! I have also had water instead of pop everyday for lunch the past 2 weeks. That is an accomplishment in itself.

Good luck to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I posted after my WI this afternoon, and now I don't see it!!! What in the world happened? Now I don't have time to repeat the message.

Anyway, shouldn't have worried about the WI - lost 5 lbs. this week!!!!!

Kady, WOW, how do you keep focused to lose that much? The best I've done is about 63 lbs., then I s l o w l y get off and it comes back. Any wisdom on long term devotion will help.

Kady
01-16-2003, 08:57 PM
Hmmmm I posted a message and its not here.....

WI this week showed 2.4 down...to give the grand total loss of 98 lbs.....100 here I come.

Chilliin...your body knows what its doing.....and eventually the scale will show it.....you just keep doing what you know you ahve to and dont let the number on the scale get you down.

MY losses were extremely varied...although week in and week out I varied little.

Kady - :D - a girl after my own heart. I save three points each day so I can have my ounce of chocolate. Just love the stuff. I found out that Sur La Table has El Rey bars, so I go there for my fix. Considered some of the best in the world, and decadent.

Still no darn precip in Denver, things are looking so dry. My poor yard :( . I actually walked 2 laps today, kinda slow but I did them. The weather was good for it, nice and sunny and it felt warm even though the temp at the time was only supposed to be around 23 degrees, just didn't feel it.

Have a good day all!

Tina

Hi,
Cynthia, good job walking 2 laps.
I've been so busy that I haven't been on my treadmill today.
It's so cold here. It actually got below freezing last night. Brrr...

Kady, are you on Maintenance?

I've been so good today.
Tonight I'm fixing one of those 3 pt. desserts in the "In the Groove" book. The one with the chocolate pudding & Cool Whip in the biscuit tart. We've had it once and liked it.

I was down 1/2 pound this week. I've been journaling and drinking plenty of water, so I was a little disappointed that it wasn't more BUT I can live with it!! Maybe next week will be more if I keep it up.

Hope everyone else is lucky at the scales!

Kady
01-23-2003, 12:02 PM
Yes Tina I am on maintanence. I have 2 more weeks to go to lifetime. After that I still want to lose 10-15 but ....I can do it.

Last night the scale showed a .6 loss. I will take it cause I knew it would be my low week...( I was bloated all week). Today I am already down, so that holds good for next week. I am hoping to hit a total loss of 100 lbs. That still is unbelievable to me. But I love the chance to get used to it.

With this week's loss , I hit another set of numbers....I always love when you go down from 80's to 70's to 60s or 50's ..seems like an accomplishment .

Go for what you want!!!

Tina
01-23-2003, 01:27 PM
