5) State your exercise goal
6) State your other goals, whatever they may be

I'll go first

1) My plan is Atkins and I am reinducting myself today!

2) 5 pounds gone on the scale, I'm not weighing in till tonight to see where my numbers are.

3) My emotional goal is to find something else to do with my hands when I am under stress instead of putting things in my mouth.

4) My water intake goal is to have at least 2 glasses of water every time I put something in my mouth

5) This is a big one for me and I really hate to exercise, BUT I vow to haul out my yoga tapes and do them at least once a day.

6) My other goals have been well under way for a while, save my money, pay off my small credit card debt and start saving for school!

3) Not to graze when I'm bored.

4) I plan on drinking water instead of Diet Coke or Diet Dew.

6) I plan to not be bored. I plan to take some classes for fun, and make at least 1 new friend.

Pooky - thanks for the kick in the butt...... it's been so long since I've lost anything, weight or inches! (since OCTOBER!!) :fr: but at least I know that I know how to maintain!!

okay, here goes:

my Atkins induction begins anew TOMORROW (we are getting ready to go to an annual New Year's brunch in about an hour, and I promised myself my first bagel since last April!) - see, altho until this yesterday, I didn't "cheat", I had stopped keeping my food journal, so my portions and some extra carbs may have crept back in.

I would be thrilled to see 5 lbs go away in the month - it would put me FINALLY past the 30 lbs gone mark!

My emotional goal is to try not to explode (especially internally) when stuff gets to be "too much" for me

Get back on the proper amount of water...... I've been drinking it, just not as much as I should

Aaaah..... excercise. I haven't done ANY in months. I am going to try to do some 3-4 days per week. I have a treadmill and I also have the Leslie Sansone tapes w/the weighted balls - I'm not gonna promise myself that I'll do it every day (I know me better than that!), but I will try to get in at least 15 minutes 3-4 x per week for the whole month of January, and then maybe progress from there.

Other goals: hmmmm, not too sure about that right now, gotta give it more thought...... I think I've set enough for me for right now!

1) I am starting Atkins Induction today.
2) Well, I need to loose 126 pounds to get to my rather heavy personal weight goal. But I would be happy to have my first goal to be to lose 30.
3) This one is hard. I guess it would be to offer myself positive self talk daily
4) What is the recommended water intake? My goal is at least 8 glasses per day
5) To walk 20 minutes every morning before I go to work
6) Get back on my supplements, which I have fallen off of badly

KICK ME HARDER!!
1. Atkins but lower fat and calories than I've done before. Try to keep calories in the 1500/day range.
2. Weight loss goal is just to get back to what I was in early October (262) before my holiday binge mode began. That's about a 12-15 lb loss (estimate cos I haven't been brave enough to get on the scale yet). Once that is achieved I will set my goals in 5 lb increments. I will turn the big 60 in February and my long term goal is to be "Slim at 60".
3. Emotional goal....face reality. Somehow I let myself get into this "devil may care" mode and I really can't afford to let down my guard. I also have to learn how to deal with my occasional bouts of the blues without stuffing my face and I need to improve my "self talk" so that it's positive instead of negative.
4. Water intake needs to be improved. I'll going to try for two full Britta containers a day. Right now it's about one.
5. Exercise goals...just to do MORE. I haven't done anything lately and my aching joints are the result. I need to get back to my water exercises three times a week. I have a recumbant stationary bicycle that is just sitting in the guest room feeling lonely so I have to start using that regularly. Also, I have to get out my weights and start using them regularly too.
6. Other goals. Try to be better organized in my home and in our home office. Not let darling hubby get me down when he wants to do paperwork late and really hasn't the patience to be doing it when we're both tired and cranky. Get my garden in better shape in the coming year. It's such great physical and emotional therapy to work with the earth and plants.

Hi,
Pooky thank you for inviting us over. I usually post on the freestyle thread. First, I've tried several plans this past year. My weight kind of stalled, so I incorporated more carbs. This was a recommendation that I found in Dr. Swarzbeins book and also in Suzanne Somers new book. It helped me and my weight loss started again.
1.So my plan is a combo of several plans. Without going into a great deal of detail, it's low carb/high protein. I eat a few more carbs than I use to.
2.I started at 274 in August. I'm at 231 now. My goal is to lose 5 lbs. a month until I'm at 150 lbs.
3.Emotional goal-to find pleasure in other things besides cooking, eating and cooking for other people.
4.I drink 120 oz of water or more a day. I've never had a problem drinking water. It is the only fluid I drink except for iced tea occasionally and some soy milk on my kashi in the morning.
5.Exercise goal-to be consistent and to vary my routine. I exercise between 45 min. and an hour a day. I would like to add some variety. I do 20 min. of pilates a day, 20-30 min. on the gazelle and then the total gym for about 10 min. Somedays, I will do a little on the abdoer or skip the pilates and do a cardiosculpt tape. I would like to do some things outdoors when the weather is better.
6.Stop shopping so much, my credit card is way too high. Get my garden in this year. Walk without limping. Be pain free.

1) State your plan, modified WW
2) State your weight loss goal: I just want to feel good in my own skin
3) State your emotional goal, I need to not loose my temper

4) State your water intake goal: As much as humanly possible

5) State your exercise goal: To go to the gym every chance I have. That will start on the 6th when the kids go back to school. Days I can't hit the gym, I will go to curves.

6) State your other goals, whatever they may be: I want to set realistic gaols so I can achive them. I would like to be a size smaller for my brothers wedding in May.
Thanks pooky, it helps to see it in print :)

1. Plan...Atkins......restart induction tomorrow morning

2. Weight Loss Goal.......155ish by the time it warms up enough to go out and buy new shorts

3. Emotional Goal.....lean more on hubby. I tend to keep things bottled up inside and Ive learned when I talk to him....he is quite the inspiration.

4. Water intake.....keep doing what Im doing

5. Exercise goal......at least a 30 min walk every day, and if its not great weather, then an exercise tape in the replacement of the walk.

6. When the weight is finally off......buy a leather coat for next winter :) Ive always wanted one, but would never buy one because of the weight issue, and how I looked.

OK, I'm in.

1. Plan: I guess PP is closest, or Atkins OWL- will eat only very small portions of carbs, 10-15 g. at a time, up to 60g. per day. Other than that, smaller portions, more veggies and fish.

2. Goal- 4 lbs. That would be a miracle, I'm hoping for 1 lb a week. More that that and the earth might implode on itself, and the heavens rain fire and the angels weep. Four pounds seems like alot to ask. I've been working out like a demon for 5 weeks, and only lost ONE!

3. Emotional goal. I promise not to kill anyone, not even DH, even if he deserves it. Definitely anger management, and a little self-love thrown in.

4. Water, I do OK here. Limit soda to one a day, but most days I don't drink it anyway.

5. Exercise- Keep up the walking tapes and weights. Every other day during the week and both weekend days. Minimum 4x's a week.

6. We are on a big savings binge- will possibly buy a house this year and want to maximize our cash savings for a down payment. So, frugal Low Carb? Eggs and burgers and veggies, I guess. And water's free!

Thank you Pooky.
1-Atkins
2-5 lbs, this month
3-Be good to myself
4-at least 10 glasses[I like crystal light in my water]
5-anything for 15 min a day [we can do anything for 15 min.]
6-stop complaining at work, that I do more than anyone else! Call my mother more, kiss my husband more, walk in the rain without an umbrella, stop to smell the flowers, thank God more, etc, I do enjoy life.

Time to stop avoiding this and get my butt in gear.

My plan.......just higher protein, lower carb. Since my tummy is so small I need to keep reminding myself that protein first, protein first.

My year long weight loss goal is the final 50 pounds. I will still be a heavy adult weight, but not sure after weighing over 300 pounds if I can carry off a much lower weight, time will tell. Short term for January is 8-10 pounds.

My emotional goal is no grazing, no eating unless I'm hungry.

Water goal, just keep a water bottle by my side all day.......if it's there I will drink it.

exercise goal, to go walk at the park 3-4 times a week

other goals, maybe get serious about looking for a part time job to get me out of the house more. Much of my eating is from being bored.

Thanks for starting this Pooky

1) State your plan, i.e. Atkins
Atkins/ WW ~ Our Employee Health group is bringing WW to the office. I am signing up for it to use the meetings as a motivator and to weigh in with them so I am accountable to someone else, I just will not share my food journals with them!

2) State your weight loss goal
10 pounds a month, That would put me in prime shape come swimsuit season!

3) State your emotional goal, i.e. to be able to be angry without eating
I want to be the happy mom my boys deserve!

4) State your water intake goal
16 oz at the Y in the morning, 32 oz at my desk before lunch another 32 oz after lunch, a couple glasses after work. Somehow I need to continue this on the weekend, which is difficult to do with the lack of daily structure.

5) State your exercise goal
continue my 5:30a.m. Monday through Saturday exercise program at the Y. 30 minutes of eliptical training, and 30 minutes of weight training.

6) State your other goals, whatever they may be
Try to get other areas of my life in order, like my job and my home. I need to do some major cleaning and straightening in my basement. Visit my 3FC Friends in NJ in May!

Thanks Pooky for starting this very important, much needed thread.

That is going to be my new slogan for the year. My mantra so to speak.

Well here go
Here's how it works:

1) State your plan,After long deliberation, I've decided to follow the Performance Diet Plan. It is very close to Sugar Busters or the Zone, the basis being low GI foods
2) State your weight loss goal: I plan to loose 60 pounds-that sounds like a lot, but it's only 5 pounds a month. I CAN DO THAT

3) State your emotional goal,: to work on not letting depression get in my way, in other words to keep a positive attitude and stay MOTIVATED!! (that's where you guys come in)
4) State your water intake goal: at least 64 oz
5) State your exercise goal: To go to the health club at least 5 times a week
6) State your other goals, whatever they may be:To get out of PLUS SIZE clothes!!! Non weight related goals, to keep the house "neater" It's clean, but I have a problem with clutter!!!
