I had a ball last night, I hope everyone else had a great time doing whatever you wanted.

My friends came over at the back of 10 and left just before 5 this morning, we drank loads, danced around, chatted, sang and generally enjoyed ourselves.

Drank too much, ate too much rubbish but hey it was good fun and it doesn't happen every day of the week. As we were dancing it was hot in the house and we opened a window, was freezing this afternoon, we didn't get up until 2:15. The boys are out of bed, but they aren't really awake, they are laying on the couch watching a video under their quilts, looking oh so cute.

But here's to the year when I am going to lose at least 3 stone. Today is a nothing eating day, the gammon is gently roasting and the potatoes will soon be joining it, at least we're not having traditional steak pie with all that pastry

Tonight I will be planning my eating for the next few days and organise a shopping list. I am going to wow you with my losses over the next few weeks, hope I don't live to regret thoses words.

Speak to you all later, need to get my butt in gear

BPB, so glad to hear your man is on the mend. Enjoy your junk today, you do deserve it after your past week.

Haven't look at the pictures yet Cathy, but I seem to remember one of you in the bath from TPAAT.

I must scan a couple of pictures in when I go back to work.

The boys were up until 5 too, they could have kept going longer with their pals, it was the adults who were wilting.

Today is the day I get my life back to normal. Normal mealtimes and bedtimes and healthy food - no more junk and definately no more alcohol - for a few days anyway.

Wish the office was open tomorrow and I could go back to work. Hate this long holiday we have in Scotland, after the New Year. Everywhere is still shut today with even the supermarkets on short hours, so we can all drink ourselves stupid again today - WELL NOT ME !!!!!!

Need to attempt to tidy the boys rooms after all they pals were in the other night. Will get a shower first though and some breakfast, at the table, with Steven. No more eating on our laps. Sean is still sleeping, am going to let him lie, he has had far too many late nights. This afternoon though I am going to drag him somewhere where he can use up a bit energy, goodness only knows where in this weather, but I'l find somewhere.

Time to get serious

Lost my ooomph today..it was pouring down last night and the gutter was overflowing onto the deck below..really loud..so i listened to that until 3am when the rain eased off..i'm so :tired: this morning  i hope a good hot shower take's care of that.

Congratulations Leigh-R on losing 3lbs over the holidays..you clever girl :D

Got to drag myself to the mall today for groceries so hopefully i'll make some good choices..i'll definitely avoid the candy aisle

Gosh, Sal, you certainly know how to party!!You don't need to join thousands of others in Edinburgh...sounds like you had a super time right there!!Hope you are all recovering, by the way?

I stayed in but went to friends for lunch yesterday which was great. In the evening I restored the lounge to it's former state...sorry, could not put up with the clutter and mess any longer... and watched Billy Elliot on the beeb. I have seen it before but it was worrth watching again.
Must make an appointment with my dietician in the next few days. I think things are ok. I have not done too badly but ruined everything today and lost the plot by eating a 100g choc 'n nut bar that someone had bought me. I am a lot better if there is no naughty food in the house, so I plan to give the Christmas pudding and the dark chocolate biscuits to my neighbour. The goodies are all part of a food hamper I received for Christmas.....

Errr, please excuse ignorance but SmilingSal, what is "TPAAT"? re the photo thread.???

cat90
01-02-2003, 02:19 PM
Teel...TPAAT..is ten pounds at a time..we used to have our own thread on here but it got canned due to the lack of posting's..we are now on the miscellaneous board and we have a group on yahoo where we post pic's of ourselves (if we want to :( )

I de-christmased the house today, just got to the stage where I had to get back to some semblance of normality. I watched Billy Elliot last night, hadn't seen it before and cried most of the way through.

Been at my SIL's today, she is due her second baby on the 11th, we only popped up for a short visit, 6 hours later we sent out for pizza. Ended up having to go and pick it up as there was an hour and a half delivery time on it. Didn't do too bad, had half a pizza and some pakora, wedges, dip, chicken nuggets, etc. Besides all that though, have only had my frosties this morning. So have not done to bad on my first, back on program day.

Tomorrow will be better, I will manage to count points for the whole day. Am going to count my points for the whole week again starting at 6pm Friday night. It worked last time I did it, so I know that if I stick to it again and count everything then it will work again. Will count everything I eat over the weekend and then divvy up the remaining points for the rest of the week.

Tomorrow I am tidying up 2 cupboards, the coat one in the hall and the one in my room. A lot of clutter will be ready to go into the loft by the time Ray comes back from work. he will not part with his beloved Land rover magazines, even though they have not been read since we moved into this house 8.5 years ago. Men !!!

I managed to stay on track today, hurray!! I had 6 squares of fruit and nut and 4 boiled sweets but managed to call it a day. Let's hope for a good day tomorrow , I would like to get through the weekend without alcohol if that is manageable.
The shock of the scales on Saturday should see to that!!
I am ready to see the back of the xmas decs, will make a start tomorrow night then blitz the house on Saturday. I have a few cupboards need sorting so remind me of that when my fingers keep reaching for the goodies and I need to occupy myself to keep the greedy demons away.

01-02-2003, 10:11 PM
Hi Ladies,
I am on track OH YEAH!!! I have been counting points since yesterday and I even finished off a bar of fruit and nut with a friend over a cuppa tonight and it fitted in with my points so I am well chuffed. I am doing really good on the water intake as well. I am proud of me.
ER is a repeat tonight but I thinkI'll watch it and drag the trampoline out and bounce for a bit, as one of my aims with this weight loss business is to get back into this excersie business. I used to get up an hour earlier last year when I was on track and puff my way through Tae-bo, but I think if I do either that or bouce ( and I bounce all over with this bod) I will do better, cos I don't like getting up at the best of times at six in the morning, so five is even more horendous!
Anyhoo, I hope you all have a great day tomorrow, I am back at work now, although this is a very short week of only two days...today was the first, I think it helps, cos the mind, body and mouth are occupied :)
We have winter weather warnings for the next few days so if we get a good snowfall, I'll burn calories too, by walking thorough snow and maybe shovelling it too.
Later tater's.

Whatever the boys don't eat today are going in the bin before bedtime tonight, the biscuit tin is too easy to binge from while I am half asleep.

Well i got over the first day ok, it's just the rest of the year I have to worry about now  We need to get some shopping in either today or tomorrow, mind you I think i could live on Oatso simple for at least a week without getting fed up of it. I really need to get my packed lunches organised, I am not too keen on sandwiches (more of a between meals kind of snack!!) for lunch, will have to make up some salads etc, if anyone has any ideas i would be happy to hear about them.
I am going to de christmas the house tonight and tomorrow and get out my rebounder, I may even have a jump around on it!!

Have just been to a local country park to do the recycling, have a walk and feed the bread/cake/ mince pies/popcorn(!)/to thegeese/ducks etc and the fruit and nut mix to the squirrels. Have to confess to eating about 4 brazils on the hunt for squirrels though:s: . It is absolutely freezing out there, need to get some gloves for Harry but can't face going into town with cold wind/rain battering my raging ear.
Thats my exercise and good deed done for the day anyway. So far so good with the diet, almost tea time, mmmm what shall I have and what can i do to lose at least 7lb b4 tomorrows ww class :stress: :headache: :judge: :crossed:

My scales don't seem interested in 2's...i can lose 2 one day and gain 2 the next  Although i have'nt started exercising again i am doing better with my eating :D i've even been able to stare a packet of chocolate hob-nobs in the face and not partake

Hello All, well spent the day cleaning the house and getting rid of every last trace of Christmas. There are still a couple of boxes of chocs lurking but they are NOT going to be eaten by me. harry has a big plastic box full of choc/sweets in the fridge and they will be the biggest temptation, I asked him to count them much to DH's disgust cos he cant pinch any now either.
Dave is cooking the tea on our new George Foreman lean mean grilling machine, any one else got one? Any tips for good meal ideas?? We are having stir fry veg with Chicken he has cooked on it , smells lovely, will report back later to tell you what it tastes like.Bye for now

I have had the most wonderful day.

We got up the sun was shining and todays DIY and tidying tasks were shelved, as we climbed in the car and headed north. First stop was Calendar, was very sunny and everything was frozen, we fed the ducks and had a stroll besides the river and the boys played in the park, then on to a loch, where again in the sunshine we threw stones in the water and broke ice, followed by a hike up hill, breaking more ice and enjoyed many spectacular views, which would be hidden from sight in summer, due to foilage on the trees.

Then off for a snack in the pub and then a drive and a walk around the bottom of the munros. Was a lovely day, but bitterly cold, when we were talking to a woman at a farm on our last walk, it was -2 (celcius). But it was a fantastic day.

Sorry to sound a bit like the Scottish Tourist Board, but I would reccommend visiting on a sunny crisp January day rather than the middle of summer, it may have been cold today, but at least it wasn't raining and muddy

Eating has been alright so far, although Ray has just gone out for pizza and there is a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge for later to wind up this very relaxing day

Wish every Saturday could be this good

Off to come back down to reality - some time

Hi ladies, well done on weighing in Cathy. I will have my first weigh in on Weds.
TQ, I have a GF grill and we use it a lot. I love chicken cooked on it, it always comes out so tender. ALso fish is lovely done on it too. I did try, let me think, yes corgettes...and um, yellow veggie but can't think what it's called, cut into strips and on there for about five minutes, and it was very yummy.
I am being a slob today, not got dressed yet and am watching Eastender's cos I think it's the Christmas special one.....that Phill Mitchell is such a horror!
I have been cleaning and doing several loads of laundry though, so not a slobby lazy day!
Right am off to have another drink of water and then a cuppa...
have agreat weekend everyone.

Best Chicken I have ever tasted!! Oh I love my grill!! We decided to get one because MIL has the baby one and we had tasted food done on hers and were impressed, we bought a bigger one and that was because we bought a new cooker before Christmas and though I am thrilled with the ovens, burners etc the grill is crap and as I don't fry anything I felt the need for one!!
I am trying hard to keep on track but feel very hungry today, sure its just a TOM thing cos I cannot possibly be hungry after all the stir fry veg I ate.

Hi ladies,
Sounds like everyone seems to be having an ok weekend :) Mine is good. I have eaten nicely (haven't dribbled once)! It is snowing here now. SOrt of crept up on us this aftenoon. There's about an inch settled on the ground now but I don't think we'll get much more, it's supposed to peter out through this evening. Looks pretty out though.
Dave and I went out walking in the nearby woods this morning, with some friends and of course Pen and Lew. Lew decided he needed a cool down on the way back to the car and decided to lay down in a puddle a muddy one at that, so I was not happy, although he didn't leave a huge mess on the back seat of the car, daft me forgot to put a towel or blanket in...tut tut.
SO both of them got baths when we arrived home and they are all nice and sweet smelling and Penny is extremely curly, she is in dire need of a hair cut.
I have been ploughing through laundry this whole weekend and am still battling more loads, does anyone else have this constant fight? Thank God for a dryer is all I can say, don't know what we'd do if I had to hang everything out, although I do love washing on the line :)
Right, have to stop babbling, must go do laundry.....help me!
Have a great week everyone.

Going back to work wasn't too bad, even managed a very quick chat with TQ when I got there on MS Messenger.

Have been up and down the stairs several times today, that is bound to help shake this body back into action. Also went for a walk at lunch time in the park, the ground was all frozen and hard so I just wandered around across the grass, instead of sticking to the paths, was lovely and invigorating.

Went to my new WW class tonight, was good, but very quiet. Gail is the leader there too and reckons a lot more people will start their diets next week, when they have got rid of all the goodies out of the house. The class is totally new, so there were only 7 of us there, almost individual attention. Everyone is very friendly and I enjoyed it, I hope for Gail it is busier next week, although I would be quiet happy with the smaller group. There is a class before it, so no doubt some people will move from the earlier class to the later one, over time.

So today has been good, but tomorrow I will glitter cos I will be so healthy.

Have had an amazing on points day, if only every day could be so easy!!!

Haven't done much, got up late, de-iced the car, went to work, climbed up and down stairs far too many times, went for a walk, de-ided the car, came home, made the dinner, tidied up, did a huge pile of ironing, put it away, toasted a bagel, came here.

Does ironing count as exercise, it always tires me out - or is that just boredom !!!

Every Saturday I like a treat - don't we all. But I have mine regardless of whether I have saved enough, or indeed any points during the week. But made a decision today, if I don't lose weight on the Monday, I don't have the Indian or Chinese or Pizza or whatever on the Saturday night. I can still have something nice, but it will have to be healthier and within points and probably out of the supermarket chiller. Think this may inspire to work harder to lose weight each week.

Just need to be strict with myself the first week I gain weight so that I don't juse have the 'treat' anyway. You may all need to come round on that Saturday and chill in my livingroom just to make sure I stick to it.

This weeks gain doesn't count as it was a holiday gain - is that me just deluding myself. Can't take any credit for the idea, it came from the VLL at WW. But that is what I pay the money for, her ideas and inspirations.

Best go before I commit myself to anything else.

How come I feel fatter than ever? I have been so good following my points. Not even going to the max, so there are some banked. I am below tonight too, and actually fel a bit under the weather, scratchy throat and bunged up nose.
Well I'll let you know tomorrow if I'm fatter or not when I jump on the scales in the morning. Here's keeping everything crossed although darling hubby did tell me he was proud of the way I've stuck to the 'diet' all week, so that has made me feel great about keeping to plan and not giving up, even if I am fatter tomorrow. Can you still not post TQ ???

We were chatting this morning, hence all the eractic testing and hello posts.

Am thinking about reporting you for advertising Veggie, no one will believe TQ put you up for it.

Teel a rebounder is like a small trampoline that lots of people here use in there livingrooms, to bounce and up and down and watch TV. Think there was such a rush of sales this time last year, with everybody on this site buying one that Netto probably brought in double this year and can't sell them. I was put off by someones comment that you if you didn't watch when you were bouncing your boobs would end up on the ceiling !!!!

Have had a very energetic day, up and down stairs, under cabinets, then I walked down to the town and back and then away for a 30 minute swim with Sean tonight.

Am going to finish reading here, then it's a hot chocolate and some toast and bed for me. Brought a new alarm clock today, as the light had gone on my old one and I stayed in bed until 7:45 today as I couldn't see the time. The new one speaks the time to you, so I will have no excuses.

We have no snow, I want snow. {{STAMPs FOOT in TEMPER}} x 2.

We have no nettos, sounds like a good shop for bargains, I love a bargain.

I have been amazingly on points again today. If only I could be like this every day. Went swimming again this evening with Steven, am very very tired. But it is doing me good, isn't it.

Had a lovely day at work today, went to see a new building we need to cable up and I went with a guy who knows a lot of the history about the place, was really interesting to find out a lot of the background. They are keeping the facade of the building and building the new building behind it, so from the street it will keep it's character and not look like the usual modern office block.

Haven't drunk enough water today, my liver will be doing the work of my kidneys, and not helping this body get rid of it's fat. Better get some water in, even though it's late and I will be up half the night getting rid of it, it will be worth it. You appreciate I am doing this for my kidneys sake and not for me. Is there a difference ????

Is all too confusing

I don't think I could even beging to think about doing them now though, especailly one exercise towards the end where you kneel and swivel your hips down and round, it loody hurt everywhere doing that! LOL!
Another tape I used to love was a Cher one, which you learnt a dance routine in, it was great fun and made you sweat, and it disappeared during our move to the States :( Now I do Tae-bo which I also love, and I really must start back up with it.....yes, yes, yes indeed. I was born in Middlesex too, so maybe I don't exist either. Stirlingshire disappeared during the boundary reorg as well, but I'm still here, I think !!!!!

Had a nothing day yesterday, slept all afternoon and then went to a friends in the evening, but I really couldn't be bothered and although we had a nice blether and a chat we didn't sort out the week away, like we we're suppose to do so it was a bit of a wasted evening.

I really hope Ray and the boys are up for doing something today, even a swim would be good later with the boys, they love to go to a 'normal' as opposed fun pool near here and dive in all the time. Wears them out and it means I have to tread water at the deep end to make sure they are OK. Would do us all good.

Either that or I go for a walk, really depends on what they all want to do. Who am I to make the decisions for all of us.

They are all still sleeping, I was too hot and woke up, nothing to do with the fact that I slept all yesterday afternoon

Need to put the adventure back into my life

Have been to visit friends today and ended up staying for dinner, will need to balance out the chocolate cake and custard into the points.

Wonder how many points that is going to leave me a day until the new week starts on Friday evening - not a lot me thinks, even if I count in my exercise points. Will teach me not to over indulge so much next weekend.

Haven't a thing organsed for tomorrow morining, no school uniforms, no lunches, nothing.

Hello girls,
Five miles! Wow! I'm impressed, when I did used to goto the gym here I used to manage two and then my legs were so wobbly I always felt like I was going to fall over. In fact I've not got a good track record on treadmills, I've come off a few times cos I got cocky and let go and trippped over my towel that fell off the rial and I tripped over it....that was a laugh.
I've had a good weekend point wise. In fact I'm under points today, but I'm not hngry. I've had some sad news from friends, so I think that must have something to do with it.
It's piggin' cold here, brisk but sunny and I did wrap up and poop-a-scoop earlier. My life is so exciting I know!
Anyhoo, have a great week everyone, on with the plan of a thinner a life. Talk soon :)

Have had an on points day. Needed one after dinner at my friends last night.

Has been wet and windy here all day, not walking weather at all, so I stayed in at lunchtime and played puter instead.

Am going to have a go at eating something different every day this week. Just one little thing, think tomorrow I may have a pasta salad instead of just an ordinary salad with bread and spreader cheese. Going to just add little variaitions to make it interesting.

I am determined that this is the time I will lose this weight, all it will take is time and willpower

BritinNJ and Cat90 What is Joe Millionaire about? All the other message boards I look at are always talking about it.

By the way do you any of you remember Sunset Beach? Did yo ever see it? It had a small cult following in UK. My Mum and I loved it even though it was daft!

BritinNJ
01-15-2003, 07:19 AM
Peacock, Joe Millionaire is about twenty girls who have been told they are meeting a man worth 50 million bucks and they are all trying to dazzle him with their charms so that he picks them to be his woman. What none of them know is that he is in fact a builder who earns 19,000 bucks a year. They get eliminated each week and I guess only the girl at the end will find out he's not a multi millionaire, and then we'll see what her reaction is. The actual guy who is doing all the fibbing is actually rather nice and even on the first week, he felt guilty for fibbing...I felt quite bad for him and most of the girls claws were out within the first ten minutes of the show...meeee...OW!

Was at a meeting all day today with lunch provided. But the lunch was cr@p so I was in no danger of overeating. Had tasteless soup followed by a salad, didn't even fancy the pasta and there were no puddings to choose from, so that part was easy.

Ooooooooooo Carol, you poor soul. Keep squeezing and get rid of your gunk. Hope you feel better soon. I am all over my cold now, I am so glad. I am tired though, it's been a busy day at work. I feel a bit stressed today and it's shown in my eating. We had cake at work for the kids and I had a piece and I'm usually so good refusing it, and everyone at work is very surportive of me doing WW, so I don't know why I gave in today.
It's a three day weekend here so I hope I don't keep off of track cos of today. It's also very cold, I think our temp for thisevening is going to be 9 degrees! Don't know if I want to walk out in that with the dogs. They run outside in the back for a very quick tiddle as it is!
Cathy, I didn't see the repeat of Joe last night, was busy upstirs doing laundry until ER...wouldn't miss that for anything though :)
Hope everyone has a good weekend. TQ, what do you polish your wood floors with?

Hi all!! My ear is still 'uncomfortable' but on the mend, I haveto finish my ear drops and then The doc gave me a prescription for an ear spray on Thursday, and hopefully that will get to the bottom of it.
It has put me off going swimming though and really i need to get on with that to aid my weight loss. Back to work on Monday so that involves a good hours walking each day, every little helps.

Hello am feeling better, am tanked up with vitamins, decided I have to take much better care of myself.

I have a new nephew, Rays sister had a wee boy yesterday, they have decided to call him Kade, going along with the trend for unusual names, it was strange at first but has grown on me. Haven't seen him yet, but she they came home from hospital today and we are going to pop over tomorrow and visit, must get a present for her older boy as well.

It is all boys on Rays side of the family, 8 boys and no grand daughters, still his other sister is due in April, maybe she'll have the grand daughter, imagine how spoiled any girl born into this family will be after all those boys.

Have over eaten over the last few days. I have gone from struggling to eat 20 points at the beginning of the week, to eating everything I can find. At this rate I will be showing a gain on Monday. I have to get my act together tomorrow and get back to it.

Am hoping for a long lie tomorrow, keep telling Ray it must eb my turn to stay in bed for an hour or so. Steven always wakes me up in the morning though, think his dad is just to grumpy for him.

I live in hope, of a weight loss this week and a long lie.

I have no idea where the infection came from as I haven't been swimming since November so don't think I can blame that. Heres hoping I will soon have seen the last of it though.

Hi girls,
Well after being a big greedy piggy on Friday, I got myself back on thrack Saturday morning and have been doing well ever since. I also figured out why I was such a pig on Friday too. I WAS hungry cos silly me didn't eat all my points on Thursday! At least that is what I'm thinking made me pig out.
I had a lovely meal tonight, a proper very low fat roast, with loads of veggies. Cabbage by the truck load and now the tum is rumbling so I'm afraid I might be in for a bit of a windy night! Too much information right....LOL! Anyhoo, I'm off to my cosy bed, I have another day off tomorrow, yippee, so can have a lie in :) Here's to a good week for everyone.

I was v greedy on Saturday, must be summat in the air Chris and heading this way!!
We went to the British Museum with H and then out for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, I had a salad......a cobb salad.....the best salad I have ever had, I swear a burger and Jacket potatoes would have been less calories!! Spent Sunday lazing around all day reading the papers and generally doing nowt. Must try to get myself back into my routine now, back to work today, well on a course actually but you know back into the big wide, very wet and windy world.!! Have a good week fellow cyber slimmers.

Popped into Tesco yesterday and discovered that they are selling quite a lot of Weight Watchers books off cheap - presumably because its been renamed again.

Anyway the two big books (pure points cookbook 2001, and 2002) were there at £4.something instead of £10.99 and they had quite a lot of the magazine size ones that were selling for £2.99 instead of £5.99.

I bought "low point pasta meals" and "family meals" and they had about 4 others as well - one pot wonders, quick meals in 30 minutes - I'm afraid I can't remember the others.

They also had quite a lot of other diet and exercise books so thought it worth mentioning in case anyone was interested:)

Sorry, forgot to say:

I have been doing very well on my diet since I last posted. I had to overcome my first major hurdle on saturday which was eating out at someone elses house. I've started following the "wendie plan" which i first saw mentioned somewhere on this site where I vary the points I eat every day. Saturday was my high points day so I managed to eat out - sensibly - at lunch time and have enough points left to have an evening meal too. I was really pleased with myself:)

Sunday I went to see Harry Potter at the cinema and sat next to my friend who was eating chocolate toffee popcorn whilst I ate my packet of weightwatchers chews. How angelic was that?:cp:

I am a very happy bunny tonight, but very aware that I have to stick to plan religously to keep the weight off next week.

I am going to be angelic for the whole week - I'm sure it is possible.

Hi all!! Feeling really doom and gloomy today, been up sinca 5.30 and feeling stressed out after just one day back at work, well I was on a course (really ate badly yesterday lunchtime!!) and found out about my next couple of assignments, 3,000 word essays, I am too bloody old for all this!!
DH is working late every night this week (10pm) so my exercise isn't really getting everywhere, my walking to work will be back in motion today so lets hope I can stride all these negative feelings out.
Have a great day and send me some good vibes if you have any spare.

Have just watched American Idol, never have before, 'Simon' is rather nasty whcih I already knew cos I'd heard about him from previous shows. Does he do the show over in ENgland too I wonder?
My baby is turning into a teenager tomorrow. She is already taller than me so I think I'll be ok having to say I'm old enough having two teenagers now...LOL! We've made her a cake, so I'll have to try a very slim slice of course, should be able to do it within the points. Talking of points, I tried a new cereal today, it has 9 grams of fibre, and 2/3 of a cup equals one point so with half a cup of skimmed milk, it makes for a very filling two point breakfast. Looking at my writing here, I reckon I've lived here too long cos spelling fibre the British way looks funny to me now......Oh NO!! I just can't believe it.
Right, well I'll post on the weigh in tomorrow, hope everyone has a great day.

Hi all, I am returned from the "no use computer zone!!"
The truth is that mum and dad decided to come and stay for a few days and went home yesterday, so I did not have any time to get on the computer let alone get to this site!!
The visit was very exhausting and I struggled with the increasing level of relentless pain in my back and legs.Sleeping on the soft spare bed did not help matters and by the time they left yesterday afternoon I had reached screaming pitch several times but managed to step back in to the normal, jolly, polite daughter zone....
I won't write about all my thoughts now but will let loose in my journal entry another time.....

Thinking about your stress levels, BritinNJ...NOW YOU HAVE TEENAGER IN THE HOUSE!! and what was that new cereal you tried??:T

I saw an ad for WW on TV last night, and if I recal correctly the new name is something like WW "it's time to eat". It stuck in my mind as sounding sort of crazy. :)

Arwen
01-23-2003, 02:56 PM
Yes the new WW package is called "time to eat". I thought it sounded a bit silly too. Its been repackaged so if you go to meetings you get a trendy sort of handbag to keep your stuff in and instead of a book a week for the first 10 weeks you get a card every month or so - I think anyway. I need a suitcase to keep my WW stuff in but I still want that bag just coz it looks cool. How sad am I! But I'm just doing WW from home and ordered the continuation pack so I don't get anything except weekly weigh-in cards and rewards like the 10% keyring. I don't even get silver sevens.

Teel, Harry Potter was excellent. I would definately recommend it though I'm not sure how much longer it will be showing for. Very different from Lord of the Rings which I'd been to see the week before. During that one I ended up sucking my thumb (which I've never done in my life) just to try to stop bitting my nails! Even though I knew what was going to happen as i've read the books about 20 times. How daft is that I wonder:)

I hope you recover from your visitors soon too.

Congratulations to Cat90, your Grand-daughter was exactly the same weight as my daughter and I bet she's just as gorgeous!

I hate the time to eat adverts, at one bit a woman goes on about wearing whatever you want and she is wearing a hidous black lacy smock like top. Why would I choose something like that if I could wear anything.

Sorry to anyone who likes the top.

My boil is giving me problems again, had swollen up to day with yet more gunk and I had to get it out, sorry for the images, but now it won't stop weeping and is sticking to everything. Wonder how many months I'll need to wait for an outpatients appointment to get it drained properly and how many times will I need to do this. Is very tender and I am feeling very sorry for myself.

There is a bottle of wine in my fridge and I have to be honest and confess to being tempted. Would rather keep it for tomorrow, will need to see how the willpower works out

And how is Grandma feeling today?:p

Teel you should get one of those mystic meg phone lines, you know the type of thing call 0800 XXX XXX and talk to telepathic Teel. The boil has indeed turned into an abcess and yesterday I was the woman with the incredible swelling side. Also affected my energy and gave me a blinder of a headache until I got some anitbotics from the doc at about 5. By then my tiny boil was bigger than my fist. All is much better now, the antibotics are curing it nicely - so far, although it is still quite swollen, not so nasty looking.

So no booze for me this weekend and there I had saved up 12 poins plus 10 exercise ones to enjoy myself tonight.

I will still enjoy myself, we will just be at home, but the wine bottle is still in the fridge and will need to stay there until next Friday night know. Avoiding it is taking will power.

The boys have gone swimming with their uncle and I am supposed to be tidying up and sorting the washing, but hey I haven't managed on here very often this week

Hello the U.K.

Thank you for your kind messages of support....I am at the stage where if anyone is too nice to me I get all tearful....bleh!!!
To update you a bit...I saw my psychiatrist on Tuesday and he stopped the newish pill and increased the old pill that he had reduced to start the new one....are you still with me:?: !
The next day I saw the orthopaedic man who had my m.r.i. scans...said there was a load of excess inflammation around disc lumbar 2 and 3.It might resolve by itself in 5 years time but then the two discs would fuse and he did not want that to happen. So he wants to inject in to the discs..I forgot to ask him what, but I suspect steroids and local anaesthetic. I have had two lots of these injections before and they cause so much pain you feel like you have been run over by a herd of hippopotami, without them doing any actual good in the pain releif area. I have aggreed to him doing this because I don't feel I have any other choice but I am in agony here and hopelessly depressed with the whole of this "life" thing.I just want to  and  :stress:
Sorry to blurt all this out. I just don't want to cope with this any more......
But there is no other realistic path to take, is there???

Sorry, Smiling, about your absess...a friend of mine has got one in his throat.....aaaaaargh!!

I also had the gorgeous pierogies somethered in butter YUM! (for those not in the know - they are the russian/ukrrainian/polish version of - dumplings but more like ravioli than our sort of dumplings.

I have also indulged in M&S chocolate covered marzipan as well.

Hey Teel

I think you have enough on your plate at the moment without beating yourself up if you put some weight back on. I know how annoying it is when that happens but you have higher priorities at the moment, like getting better. You can get back into weightloss when you are feeling more like your usual self. So treat yourself gently and be nice to yourself..you deserve it:)

Teel, just look after yourself and your weight will sort itself out - you are the important one, not the number on the scale.

Arwen, I beg to disagree, 36 year old Geminis are a much better model than the 38's.

Big disaster, my WW class looks like it will be cancelled, due to lack of take up. WW don't give them much time to get established. This was only the 4th week and the she (VLL) had to have 30 people there tonight, there was 17 which is an improvement on last week. Think if WW just gave it a couple of months, then it would reach their aspirations.

Suppose it is all about money for them.

Am going to nip in last minute to the weigh in of the earlier class and get the talk, over 100 people go to that class, not sure it is going to suit, I prefer a smaller group.

Am going to count my points from 6pm in the evening again this week - seemed to work last week. Although I just had a bag of onion bahji (sp?) from the Co-op I thought it would come in about 4 or 5 points, is a whacking 7 - just as well it was my 'dinner' adn not a snack.

Bakewell

Teel: you have to remember that pain is the body's way of telling you that something's wrong - it's designed so that you can't ignore it. I know that's a terrible fact when you're suffering & it won't go away long after you've got the message(!); but the point is that it's very hard to get your head round anything else when you're in pain, so it's perfectly understandable that dieting isn't a priority right now. Concentrate on whatever you have to do to get well, & worry about the weight later. Take care of yourself. :grouphug:

I thought we already HAD this discussion in October around Ali's 40th & my 30th - I told you all then that LIBRANS are the best!!! :joker:

That's a pain about your class, Carol - I hope the earlier one does suit because I think it makes a big difference. I think I've finally found my dream class this time - it's during the day, but it's in the playbarn of a pub, so the kids can play in the toddler area & I can keep an eye on them while listening to the class. Whenever I've tried to go before I've tried not to take the kids & then my biggest battle has been being at the mercy of my unreliable hubby as I needed him to babysit!

Carol, I know it can be a pain when a class closes but don't let it make you lose motivation. My class moved in August/Sept to the other end of town and as I result i've wasted almost 6 months where I could have been dieting because the new class wasn't convenient and left me without one. I'm now doing WW from home. And, hey, all geminis are cool so I will forgive you for being 2 years younger!

I remember my old leader saying that WW gave her £15 I think it was for each meeting to help towards room hire etc and she had to find the rest herself. It doesn't encourage them to run a small group does it?

Shell, the difference with me and Teel is that we were born on the same day. Carol, you don't share the same birthday do you? 16th June?

But I was reading a WW article on line and saw a recipe for little chocolate fudge cookie bites and it seemed fairly easy, plus I had the ingredients. I whipped them up in no time, they only took eight minutes to bake and they are scrummy, and are only one point each and it's a good mouthful! :)

Am doing OK today, have been busy at work tidying up and still have an afternoon worth of it too do. It will lovely when I have finished - hopefully.

Sounds like everybody's being very good - that's what I like to hear!

So; Teel & Helen - what's Tuesday's child? Full of grace or fair of face, was it?!

Chris - is that recipe on the WW website? It sounds gorgeous!!! I've picked up some of the WW chocolate mini rolls while I was in Asda tonight - only 1.5pts & indivually wrapped, which seems much more sensible that some of the other things where you have to open the whole pack. Unfortunately, they say 'limited edition' just like the WW raisin & hazelnut bars that I love - typical!!

Bakewell, yes, the recipe is on the web site. My kids have eaten the brownies and haven't even realised they are low fat, said they were scrummy. I shall definitely be making them again. You can freeze them too and one batch makes 42 brownie mouthfuls :)
It's snowing here, the roads are very slick. I just had to leave work and go and collect my dughter from her school as she has a horribly gunky looking eye. So am now waiting on the doctor's office ringing me back to see if I can get her to see a doctor today and get some meds.
I'm hoping to have a nice little nap too, now I'm home for the afternoon and she's ensconsed in front of the telly, bless her.

I thought I would do this post in glorious technicolour.....And I have been an angel today...at last I have been serious enough with myself to have an OP day....breakfast was cereal with skimmed milk..lunch soup and unspreaded bread and dinner was macaroni with M&S count-on-us range lemon chicken and peas and sweetcorn. Ah...but I did cheat and have a mint sweet after dinner...

:drill: :drill: must get stern with myself otherwise I will never get to my first target which, afterall is only a pound and a half away... :drill: :drill:

I see the forecast for the weather is totally abysmal..snow showers and a wind chill factor to make me want to stay indoors tomorrow. I hope it is okay for the weekend, friends are coming from 90 miles on Friday evening.
BritinNJ, I hope your daughters gunky eye is nothing too troublesome and clears up soon....
See you soon, everybody...

Big disater at work, the servers went down again - how I love working in IT - not !!!!

Anyway, meant I didn't have time to have my afternoon snack, must be a good thing considering I have had cheese rolls this evening, or did I have the cheese rolls because I was hungry and had missed out on the afternoon snack ??

Today has been alright, am going out for lunch tomorrow so that will be another story. Think we are going to the Indian, will probably have chicken Tikka as it is on the business mans lunch, not only because it is the healthy option

Have just ironed a pair of trousers and a shirt for tomorrow - ME !!!!! normally I just chuck them back in the tumble dryer and hang them straight up - I must be sickening for something

Even though I am only a long 'drive' away from home I can sympathise with you too. Hope you are feeling a bit brighter now Chris.

Well I am enjoying this unexpected day off work!! When the Head called this morning to say the school was closed I rolled over and pulled the duvet up around my ears and snuggled down again. Unfortunately H got up within minutes and insisted on going out to play in the snow. It has been good fun though and you have to enjoy it while it lasts cos it won't stay for long. I feel for those stuck on the roads/motorways though. This country just cannot cope with whatever nature throws at us, my sis lives in Sask, Canada and she would laugh if I told her this amount of snow brought us to a standstill.
Hope you are all having a good time and aren't snowed in, or frozen up.
I am going to see Peter Kay tomorrow night I hope the trains are running ok, its a long way to walk to Hammersmith!!

Am having an eating day, not good for me - but I'm sure I am beg enough (literally) to cope with it

Had the afternoon off work to go to a cultural afternoon at school, a burns poetry afternoon none the less. Steven won the prize for his age in the burns comptetion at reciting a poem, my wee red caur. Went along and listened and feel all cultured and at peace with the world at the moment.

Work sucks, but everything else is good.

Lots of it bringing chaos to normal life and weekend plans.I am sorry but I have been looking forward to this weekend for weeks, as my friends and I have booked to have a photo-portrait done for my Christmas present. This has now been cancelled for now 'cos of the adverse weather conditions making travel difficult.I am not amused. Actually I am b*~@*y cross. And I have sat at home all day (I know I couldn't have gone far but I needed a sleep and a relax session) waiting for a courier to deliver a new mobile phone...now they cannot come till Tuesday so there is another day wasted.I mean, why Tuesday?? Hello from a sunny Scotland with no snow. All the news last night was about the snow, they spent most of the programme discussing the lack of gritters on the M11. Is that all that happened in the world yesterday, sure something more important was going on somewhere. It was funny the first time I heard it, but by 10 o'clock I'd had enough. There are loads of gritters up here, loads and loads of them.

Am having a get back to serious day, need to have been seriously off plan for the last 2 days and need to do some damage limitation. Ray is working nights on some emergency job so still no night out, think we may manage to get a night out before summer, but hey you never know.

I am going to make the 0 points chinese soup that was on the WW card this week and I think there is some sugar free jelly in the cupboard, so there are 2 no nonsense filler uppers. May even have a look through my veg and see if I have enough to russle up a veg chilli or something equally low points.

May be going out with some friends and their kids tonight. But it will be a take the car shot so no booze, had too much wine last night. Enough to keep me going for a wee while any way.

So today is get serious day and a 'get back to it' day for me. Am determind to get my ar$e in gear again and get this weight off. The way I felt yesterday it would have been too easy just to slip in to the old eating and stop trying althogether - THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. I am in control

Enough !!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's February (already) and I am quite pleased with myself as I have lost 8lbs in January - just need to keep the momentum going during February and I'll be well on my weigh (ha ha) to the re-styled me.

We are going to do this, snow or no snow. Here's to a healthy February ladies.

Goodness, I can talk for Scotland once I get on my high horse !!!!!! Sorry for blethering on. No sensible adult here to talk to you see.

Is very quiet in here today, you must be all having better fun than I am.

Have done nothing exciting, took the boys for a haircut, involved an hour wait at the barbers, really exciting.

Then came home and gave the boys a cooking lesson - we were really originally and did boiling an egg. But it was fun to see their faces as the water heated up and started to boil and all the questions that raised and then the squeals of delight as the sand dripped through the egg timer. Made me stop and smile. We're going to try beans on toast next time, they already make excellent toast.

We were supposed to be making a cake this afternoon, was going to be banana and chocolate cake, but a couple of their friends have dropped in and the plan has been delayed. Will keep us out of mischief this evening - is a WW cake, 3 points per slice, so I'll be able to have a piece.

Really need to go tidy up a bit, Ray has just got up before his night shift, so I want to run up the Co op and get in a few things to make the chinese 0 point soup. Turning into a culinery day

We have snow it is offical :):):):). There is a little dusting a bit like icing sugar over the gardens, the road are still clear. Would love to wake up tomorrow morning to loads of it and be forced to stay at home and 'play out' in it all day. But it will probably all melt or even worse freeze and turn into even more of a death trap.

Think I just live in the wrong bit of Scotland, Edinburgh is less than 30 miles away, and they are getting loads and all the traffic hassles it brings with it - stay safe every one

Have been so off plan this week, will not get away with it this week. Maybe the weather will turn so bad that I can't get to WW tomorrow night - wishful thinking. Need to go to the early class as well, over 100 people at it - will not be fun waiting to get weighed with that many people.

Have made a committment to myself that what ever I gain this week I lose next week. Just hope it isn't too much

I am grateful that we haven't had snow over the weekend or Shell and I would never have managed to meet Ali today:)

We had a very nice few hours together and Shell and I both felt very inspired by meeting someone who has achieved such a fantastic weightloss. Meeting Ali has made me feel that losing my excess weight is possible - its not an impossible dream, I have now met someone who has really done it:)

I still can't imagine being slim - its a very long way away - but Ali is walking proof that it is possible.

Diet is still going well. I was supposed to have a high point day yesterday but despite going out for most of the day and then having a chinese (chicken chow-mein), I still went to bed with 10 points left over. Today I've gone about 2 points over so still have 8 in the "bank".

Anyway, thank you Ali for taking the time to meet two of your biggest fans!

HI everyone

Helen I really enjoyed meeting you and shell I just wish we could have spent more time together, the three hours seemed to fly past so quickly...I was really annoyed with myself after I left you both because I had brought my camera with me to get some photographs of us together and I completely forgot until I was on my way home :(
But I am pleased that you are really inspired now, it really isn't an impossible dream and I know you can do it. And as I said yesterday, if you need any help , you have my email address, and phone number. email, phone or text me any time you want to, even if you just fancy a chat. the same goes for Shell too. Actually the same goes for anyone if you feel a chat would be better than an email send me a pm and I will give you my phone number :)

I have had my third full night on uninterrupted sleep and it has been bliss. I really didn't want to get out of bed this morning when the alarm went off, it was just so comfortable. When I did get up and looked outside it was covered with snow. Mark had already told me last night he wanted the car today so he would get up early and take me into work, which I am grateful for...I hate driving in the snow.

The weekend has been pretty good....I went to the superstore on my way home on friday and nipped into the clothes section to have a peek at the bargain rail and found a pair of black leather trousers in a size 14, they looked a small fit, but they were only £4.99 so I bought them, when I got them home I tried them on and they fit comfortably, I obviously still can't tell just by looking at things if they will fit or not. When mark got home from work, he came up stairs to see the new bed, when he saw me in the leather trousers, he grinned, and threw me on the bed and pretended to start pulling them off, but I had my boots on and the heel of the left one went straight through the trousers and put a big rip half way up the leg.
He felt terrible and insisted on going straight back to the store to see if they had any more.I didn't hold out much hope because they were on the bargain rail and that means they are usually old stock they are just getting rid of, but we went anyway. We searched the rails and finally found another pair and beleive it or not they were also a size 14, I must have been fated to have those trousers. He bought me 2 new tops to go with them too because he felt so bad...I should let him ruin my clothes more often :)

Weigh in wasn't good...I gained 3lbs, but I am not as upset about it as I thought I would be, at least it wasn't 9lbs like last month and 3lbs should be easier to get rid of. I think part of why I wasn't so upset was because I was on a high with getting the leather trousers and also because of meeting up with Helen and Shell. That was really nice I spent about 3 hours with them and they are 2 lovely ladies and theymade me feel really special.:)

Thanks Girls :)

We have a had a bit more snow, not enough even for a real snowball fight, but now the temperture has dropped and the whole lot has turned into one big ice rink - not fun to drive on.

Work was busy and stressful as usual, but I am past caring about it, just leave it all behind when I leave.

I am jealous of your good nights sleep Ali, I was awake most of the night and am paying for it this evening

We have a big problem at home, we have lost the hamster, yes it was careless of us. We got up on Sunday morning to find the cage lying wide open and Thumper was gone. Me and Ray have searched everywhere, but haven't found him yet, if he isn't tucked away some snuggly in the house, don't think he will survive the freezing temperture tonight. Ray has even looked under the floor incase he made himself a wee nest down there. Am dreading having to tell the kids, will need to do it tomorrow if he doesn't appear tonight, he must be getting hungry by now!!!!

Feeling very motivated again, amazing what going to class can do for you. Just went and got weighed tonight, am going to the earlier class and have arranged to meet some people there at 7 next week, instead of going at 6:30 and sitting for 30 minutes to wait and get weighed and then not even bothering to stay for the talk. So next week, new plan. I am in control.

Hello all who visiteth herein!
I am sorry in advance that this is going to be a bit of a miserable post...but things seem to be going from bad to worse and worserer here just now.The good thing is that my new mobile phone arrived in the arms of a city-link courier on Monday..3 days late from the first delivery date but a day earlier than the arranged second date!!!:rolleyes: It is minute and very cute..the bad things rather overwhelm the good just now. The car failed its m.o.t.test and has to have some work done, I have seen my g.p. again and cried again, and he has changed my pain-killers again and he thinks he will ask my psychiatrist to see me before my next due visit in April...but worse than all of the above is the knowledge as of yesterday that my friend's husband has pharyngeal/tonsil carcinoma. He now has an m.r.i. scan tomorrow and a biopsy under general anaesthetic booked for next Tuesday. I don't know what to say that will be of any help. I don't live near enough to just "pop round"....they have gone through so much in their married life, losing their 20year old son to an asthma attack, the wife being just about crippled by arthritis and their daughter currently working through divorce procedings. And now C......going to have to go through this awful disease which will probably bring his life to an end.

Why do some people seem to have to suffer loads and loads and others seemingly get through life illness/trauma free...does anyone out there know??

Yay...our snow has all gone. That should mean a normal 15 minute journey into work instead of the 2 hour one it has become over the past couple of days :)

I went out for a meal last night with my sister for her birthday. We invited a load of the mums along whos kids we look after during the day and it turned into a really good night. I stuck well within my calorie allowance and only used 506 calories on having a chicken and bacon salad. It had actually been removed from their menu, but the chef said he would be happy to make it for me and even weighed the chicken and bacon so that I knew exactly how many calories I was eating, which I thought was very nice of him. We have never been to that particular restaurant before, but for how nice and helpful they were, I will certainly be going back again :)
I also bought some penguin wing dings...I have never seen them before, but they are little penguin shaped chocolate covered biscuits, about 13 of them in a packet and only 144 calories for a full packet...I had them with my chocolate drink at bedtime instead of my usual chocolate biscuit and very nice they were too...they lasted a lot longer than the biscuit normally does as well..mmmm...very yummy :)

Well time for work.
Have a great weekend everyone

Teel I am thinking of your friend, as TQ says, just be there for them, they know you are

Have had a good week eating wise, here's hoping I can keep it up through the weekend. I really want to see a loss on Monday night.

We found Thumper (the amazing escaping hamster) under the bath on Wednesday night, what gave him away were the tiny little footprints in the bath, the poor mite had obviously beein glooking for a drink.

He is now safely back in his cage, but hatign every minute of it.

Smiling Sal - "Thumper?" for a hamster? (lol!).

That reminds me. One of our old hamsters (speedy gonzalez I think he of the lovely silky coat) went missing when my Dad used to take him out at night. He was eventually found when my Dad thought to go down the cellar (this was hardly used except to store apples which we forgot about). Anyway Speedy G found them (hic!). He was certainly drunk on cidery apples but didn't try to fight my Dad or throw up on him. He went quietly to his cage and slept it off!!!

Our cat (Topsy - rip) also hide under the floorboards when we had the rising damp sorted out. I would have thought she would have avoided the chemicals as it stank! However, a cat's curiosity does get the better of it!

The hamster is called thumper as he "thumps" his ball off the wall when he is out for a roll. He is still in the huff with us for putting him back in his cage.

I have been so good (so far) this week it has been amazing. I haven't been feeling very well but I haven't been exactly ill if that makes any sense. It has been more like I have been fighting some bug, I've been tired, had headaches and been very lethagic. When I got in from work last night I went straight to bed and slept for 3 hours, not like me. Sean has a tummy bug and is feeling under the weather, I am beginning to wonder weather my body has been fighting the same bug all week.

Have no great plans for today, apart from the fact that I am going to tidy and clean this house, need to tackle that ironing pile as well, I don't iron much but it has been building up over the last week or so. Also want to make some soup, need to look out a recipe.

Am hoping to go to the pictures tonight, but have no babysitter and now Sean isn't feeling too great am not sure I can go. Gran would babysit if I ask her, will need to see if Sean brightens up, at the moment he is milking it for everything and lying on the couch watching a video.

Am going to try and do some aerobics later, depends again on the cleaning and what the boys are up to, it is definately not a spectator sport.

But last night we went out. Not to the pictures as originally planned, will get to see the gangs of new york eventually. :o Oh no!! I have been a big :ink: today. I thought I was absolutely starving for most of the day and ate things I usually manage to stay away from. I feel terribly guilty of course and vow to get back on track tomorrow. So when you send good don't eat bad vibes to TQ this week, can you all please send some over the Atlantic towards this way too. Much appreciated. :(

I was a total P_I_G last night, 4 yes, 4 packets of crisps!!
I must be good this week!!

Bad girl TQ! Put those packets down. The only reason I am not joining you in the naughty corner is because I am 1) feeling like c**p and 2) Skint! I had been having 2 packets of crisps a day but since I have brought my bran flakes in to work and started to have them for breccie instead of letting them just sit there at home, the munchies are under control!

It must be catching, I too ate like a :ink: yesterday. It started off alright, I went off to Dundee for a meeting and then as we are a new team, I suggested we go for lunch at the end of the meeting. So we went and I had an enormous burger and chips and ate the lot. Think my body enjoyed the fat, cause at tea time I had a whole pizza fried from the chip shop, I dread to think how much fat was in that, but hey I enjoyed it. Also had more chips. And then just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, I drank more wine than I have in a long time, on a school night as well.

So this morning I decided I would have to work a bit harder this week to get it off, at least I have until next Monday night to get rid of all the rubbish. So I got up and did 30 minutes of aerobics, I walked at lunch time, ran up the stairs several times and am going swimming. I figure if I exercise a bit more this week and watch what I eat I stand a chance of getting off with it.

I have been an  all day, just need to keep it up.

Am sending very good vibes to everyone, I think we need them this week.

In a previous job we had a very negative person in the team and it got to the stage we used to laugh about it with this person and jump around the office stamping on the negative vibes to stop us all joining the misery. Wish it was as easy to stamp on those 'eat me' vibes and the munchie monsters.

I am going to do it, I am I am I am.

If I lose one pound this week, I'll be over the moon
If I lose two, I'll have lost a grand total of 20lbs, something good
If I lose three, I'll have lost 1.5 stone, something amazing
If I lose four, I'll be in a dead faint on the floor

I have something to aim at this week, I am going to do it.

Carol, I'm getting good vibes from you luv, thanks. Must be honest and say though, with the time difference they missed being here to stop me devouring some digestives after work and some crisps at work. I blame the cold (couldn't possibly be lack of will power, now could it), it's absolutely bl**dy freezing here. I've never been so cold in all my life. I am only now feeling warm and that's cos I just had a very hot bath and soaked in it for half an hour. We have a few more days of this weather too with more snow forcast, so I'm afraid my body storing food my well beat my will power, although I hope the will power can fight the good fight.
Right, enough of my eating woes, off to enjoy a vuppa now and wath Monach of the Glen :). Have a good day everyone.

I've never really watched Monarch of the Glen..i've seen clips but it does'nt really appeal to me..is it really any good :?:
I'm going to weigh-in with my "starting" weight in the morning and then only weigh-in on the 1st of each month..all this scale hopping and yo-yoing is getting on my nerves :( so i'm hoping by doing this it will take the pressure off of me to show a good loss on fridays :?: sounds weird i know..but if i don't lose i think "why the :censored: should i bother" and then proceed to eat every piece of chocolate i can find and go out and buy more!

I personally like Monach of the Glen, although I don't watch it all the time Cathy. I think I like it cos it reminds me of my Dad, he was a Scot, although he didn't live any place like those folks on the show do...LOL!
I've never heard of Acres of the sky Peacock, what's that about then?
I do watch Eastender's on BBC America anad I try for Grahm Norton too, cos I think he's hysterical, but he comes on most night round my bed time. I might catch him tonihgt though as there's no work for me for the next four days :)
There's two major snow storms headed this way too, oh what fun. We've still not got rid of the last eight inches that dumped down last Friday. I'm getting a bit fed up with winter to be honest, and am looking forward to spring.....
Have a good evening all.

Thanks for the flowers Teel, they are lovely, will probably be the only ones I'll get.

Peacock if you've not watched this series of 2000 arces of Skye, you'll need a hanky when you watch the repeat of last weeks programme - all I'm saying. I sobbed from about half way through. My lips are sealed.

Ate too much fruit loaf last night - whoops silly me !!!

Suppose it happens, will just need to be extra on program today to balalnce it out.

Have been doing aerobics this week and my legs are killing me. Not sure if that is good or not. But I can feel a difference in myself from doing them - not sure if that will be enough willpower to get up at 6:30, 3 mornings next week to do it again - time will tell.

Suppose it all depends on how much I want this weight loss. Am in danger of becoming a diet bore. One of my friends is doing WW too and a couple of years ago was very successful in losing weight, only like many of us to gain most of it back. She encouraged me to go back to WW this time round, we go to different classes due to working arrangements. But this time I have the willpower and she is struggling to find hers, so what do I talk about all the time, points this, points that, my exercise plan, what I have eaten, what I am going to eat, what I am not going to eat. Not surprising the poor woman has no motivation to diet, probably after talking to me for an hour she off to find the most fattening things in the kitchen - so I just want publicily (although she is never here) to say Sorry Linda I will shut up and stop boring for Scotland, although you are too much of a good friend to tell me to do that.

Am going to do a power of house work today and hopefully have a half reasonably tidy house when Ray comes home later. Won't have if I spend all day sitting here.

HI girls,
I would just like to say I am VERY proud of ME today :) I just got up, on my first day off of this four day weekend and did my Tae-Bo work out. I feel good! I was out of breath, huffing and puffing and don't seem half as flexible as last year when I was so good about doing it, but I'm hoping the flexability will come back.
I have over indulged the past few days and knew it every time I shoved something in my mouth. I think counting points is another term for feeling guilt every time you put soething sweet and delish in your gob.
I am going food shopping in a bit, to stock up on some nesessities for the storm that's about to hit, so I will buy good stuff for myself so as I don't completely fall off the wagon, as well as all the stuff yourself silly, keep warm stuff we usually buy for days like this.
Right, am going now, burn more calories with abit of housework and then it's off to the jolly old commissary....wahoo!
Have a fabulous day everyone. Keep warm.

:yikes: Tae-bo..i've never tried that..is it really hard :?: in fact i don't do many exercise video's it interrupts my telly time  i'm serious..that's the reason i spend so much time on my treadmill i can watch telly at the same time..i recently bought 3 new tapes and i've done one once..the FIRM i tried to do but gave up after ten minutes and have'nt even WATCHED the tape and a pilates one i have'nt done or watched either..good job hubby does'nt know :s:

I do Tae-Bo Basics, Cathy, it's the second video in a pack of four. It's 28 minutes long and I cand oo it all although I think some of my actual moves are to be desired. It's a keep moving one, but I think it's fun and enjoy it. I did it loads last year and want to get back to it as it really did help the weight fall off. I'd like a treadmill too, but really don't have the room for it in this house.

I used to do Tae Bo Cathy, was persuaded by that Tae Bo godess herself - Zookeeper (hello Zoo), wonder how she's getting on)

I have the live tape, it is hard, but when I apply myself I can do most of it. I don't feel fit enough at the moment to do the Tae Bo, I want to be able to do the full 27 minutes not drop to the floor wheezing after the warm up, which is like a full work out in itself.

Occasionally I find myself in the kitchen, legs shoulder width apart, knees bent, arms at shoulder height, doing alternate side jabs while I wait for the kettle to boil - guess I am still doing the bits I like.

had a lovely indian takeaway for my tea last night and lots of vodka (whoops !!!!) today I am going to be so on plan it will be unbelievable. I am going to make potato cakes for brunch later adn probably a spicey bolengenese for dinner or maybe a chicken thing, can't make my mind up.

Am getting my hair cut later, hasn't been done since October, so it has grown quite a bit, will be nice to have it shorter again, I definately decided that I don't want long hair any more.

Veggie - keep it up!!!!!!

I know you can do it!

If you feel hungry eat EAT eat, but breadsticks and salsa, or low fat cake, or count on us chocolate mousse, or low fat philly on rakusens crackers!!!! Don't be deprived.

I'm still below my target weight, if I need to snack then I just do. Continuous deprivation is what makes me overindulge.

HIYA Veggie, how you doing ? How's everyone else too ? Eating - well you need to eat to survive, you have to feed the engine, so your engine needs a bit of extra fuel, happens to us all.

I haven't been very on plan for the last couple of days, have been feeling under the weather again, thought I was coming down with a cold, last night, but I went to bed at 7 and slept through to 7 this morning and although I'm not feeling perfect right now, I do feel better than I did. The cold hasn't come to anything, think it could the on set of tom as I have a lovely spot on my chin.

I have been feeling ran down quite a bit recently. I have been taking vitamins and eating healthily and eating fruits and veg and drinking lots of water - but maybe my body just isn't happy. Or just maybe I would still feel like this even if I was eating chips and sausages and cheese and crisps and even the occasional piece of chocolate with a bottle of wine - who knows. Am not going to give all that eating a go just to find out

haven't done much over the last few days, ate (a little too much) slept (far too much) worked (far too much).

I did get up early yesterday morning and do 30 minutes of Lorraine Kelly, but this morning my bed was far to comfy. Need to catch up on my callanetics - haven't done that yet this week.

The swimming is looking doubtful tonight due to Seans behaviour earlier on. Will see how I feel in 40 minutes.

Am making some WW no fat chips, really just potatoes chipped and par boiled and then baked. Put salt on mine, probably undoes all the goodness but they taste wonderful, just need to pop to the kitchen to see if they are ready yet and for a refill of juice

Talk to you soon

Hi everyone. Ok after a whole five days of being off the WW wagon, I have climbed back on :)
I went to sign permission for my car to be repaired today. It was quite a shock seeing it, there's more damage than we first thought so I'll be without it for about three weeks. I have a rental car, so can get about though.
I am doing good today. I've even eaten a flake that came in a care package from my Auntie. I worked out the points again and they are indeed four points. I shall have to buy some more when I next go to the Brit shop as I think you really feel as if you've had something good and bad and it's easily put within my points.
I've even managed to walk the dogs tonight too, we had to walk along slushy icy roads though as the snow is even higher than when it first fell due to the ploughs scooping it up the paths. Poor dogs couldn't figure out where to do thier 'buisiness' so opted for the slush. We are supposed to get torrential rain Friday and Saturday with a warm up in temps, so the snow should all melt, of course then there's the potential for flooding, I do lead an exciting life don't I? I've even had a flood of my own in the kids bathroom with the snow from the roof, and tonight I've had to have a man out to fix my didning room ceiling which also sprang a leak from the kids bathroom and started falling down.
Carol, I think I'll try some of those WW chips, they sound yummy.
OK, enough for now, take care everyone.

Woke up this morning and my first thought was I need to phone Gail the very lovely WW lady. I have been so off plan the last couple of evenings it has been ridiculous, where has my willpower gone ?

SO my first thought this morning was I need to phone Gail for some motivation and some tips which I probably already know, but am not doing anything about.

But as it was Rays alarm that woke me and not mine, I had a whole hour to lie nice and snuggly in my bed and think about it.

Have made a decision to phone Gail tomorrow morning if this evening pans out no better.

Am not just putting off the inevitable (sp !!)

I have walked 1.25 miles and brought myself 2 new notebooks.

One a slim line shopping list one, which is just the right shape and width to list the foods I eat and put a points against it, and the pages are long enough to fit a whole days food on it. Will also add in exercise done and points earned.

The other is a jotter notepad, which will become my journal. tried the online journal here, liked it for a while and then got bored with it and what I was writing.

So this journal is going to be more like an ideas, hints, tips, motivations, objectives, bad things. Anything that I think may help me keep losing weight and sticking to program will be in there. Also as it is not on computer it can go anywhere with me.

Have headed up the first page, 10 reasons why I want to lose weight, the first two obvious answers are the way I look and the way I feel. Do not anticipate struggling to find 10 reasons why I want to lose weight

Have also decided to work out how to use the points database correctly, my friend lent me an old one when she brought the new time to eat one. if I can figure out how to get it to calculate the points by adding in the cals and sat fat then that handy guide will be going everywhere with me. Do not want to waste my money on buying a new time to eat one, when I have lindas to practice on.

Think I may have found my motivation while I was laying in bed this morning, strange place for it to hide.

Smiling Sal

Forgot to mention I put on my lucky knickers this morning, lucky for what I don't but maybe that is where all this motivation has come from - who knows, who cares as long as it stays around.

BritinNJ
02-20-2003, 08:38 PM
ROFL Carol, I reckon I need some lucky knickers. Not for motivation, mine is doing ok today, but for just getting on in life without any trauma's. I have had one he** of a week so far, TGIF as they say for tomorrow :)

Am still on the case, even though the lucky knickers are in the wash. Am starving though, and my new eating / points counting day doesn't start until 6,a whole 25 minutes away.

Am beginning to plan what I can have to eat, think I will make potato cakes not sure what I will have with them, chicken or shepherds pie, will need to make a decision.

Will be a struggle this weekend but I am determind to stay focused. I really want to see a loss on Monday night

Was out on the razzle last night, lots of wine, vodka, curry and a far too spicey chilli and lime naan bread. Probalby about 2 days point allowance gone in one evening

But hey it was really good fun

Am eating very healthy today to make up for it.

Have been abandoned by Ray and the boys today as they have gone hill walking with my brother, and I got left behind
