I was up WAY too early, and barely slept last night. Bad end to the month, I am only down 2.7 thanks to a pretty nice gain. I am planning for a fabulous month in May, I'm going to Las Vegas in June, so it'll be VERY hot and I'll need to wear shorts and/or tank tops!

I am looking to buy a new blender. Does anyone have any insight on either of these? I have a 20% off coupon for Bed Bath and Beyond. The prices for these two would end up being close. I looked at the Oster site but the one at Bed Bath and Beyond isn't listed.

Morning! I'm down .6 today and hopefully that will be the trend for the rest of this month...or at least for the next three weeks before my trip to Vegas.

Aimee -- I was thinking about you last night...here's a hug  Wish we were going to Vegas at the same time! I only lost 3.8 in April and was cursed with 2 TOM in a month...totally sucks. I feel like I shouldn't have to have one in May.

Bulletproof -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :celebrate: I hope you have a fantastic day :)

Diana -- Good job on your .8!

Ona -- :woohoo: Congratulations on getting below 190!

Mandy -- Was the bridal shower a surprise, or meant to be a surprise? How did it go? Congrats on losing despite the tempting food!

Good Morning, Happy Sunday!

Hi eclipse

Diana great job on the 4.8lbs gone for the month :) and the .8 today :woohoo: Lady :) I like all of those blenders much fancier than my Hamilton Beach. I just got a GE Fresh Single Blender. I like it because I can blend only one cup and take it with me. I guess it's simular to the bullet.

Ophelia great job on the 5lbs gone for the month :) ... it's less than you would have liked but it's better than a gain

Hi Liz, Rainbow, and Mandy

Rhonda great job on the 10.6lbs gone for the month:)

Hi VickiLou and Kukkie

Angie great job on the 3.8lbs gone for the month:) and the .6 today :woohoo: Sorry about the 2 TOM last month, that use to happen to me and it still may since TOM is here so early this month :(

Happy Birthday Bullet, have a joyous and wondeful day

Hi Vladadog  Good to see you! How have you been?

Aimee I didn't lose a thing ... good job on the 2.7lbs gone for the month. :)

Roxy I'd like to say the same thing but I was bad to me in April :D. I would so love to not ever see the 180's again and get out of the 170's for good. :) We'll do it :goodvibes: for us ALL :grouphug:

Beck great job on the 12lbs gone for the month:) My hat is off to you for your Walk today :)

twinmomma great job on the 4lbs gone for the month :)

Hi Ona, Happy First Sunday to ya  Congrats on your 189.4 you go GIRL!! :)

Hi MadameZ

Hi Coondocks and Matilda  Sorry if I missed anyone

Ok Ladies I am back again this mornings weigh in was 181.4. TOM is here and I am pretty bloated, though I got a great compliment in church this morning. Guess I don't look too bad. I only had a one pound gain for April. I weighed in at 179.6 yesterday, but had two hearty burrito/taco like things for dinner. I am so hoping to do things right this month.

I am down 2 lbs this week to 257. I have gotten out of my plateau (which lasted over a month) by really watching my sodium, drinking more water, making sure I eat no refined carbs, and increasing my fiber.

You all are an inspiration to me!

I have no idea what the heck happened last night, except maybe that hubby and I had a couple of drinks, but I'm up 3 lbs from my last weigh in, which was the day before yesterday. So here I am again at 200.5. Good grief...

Bullet - Happy Birthday!!!

Diana - I'm a big fan of Oster blenders, but the one thing I noticed with them is their cheaper stuff with the plastic jar/pitcher thing always have more problems than the ones with the glass jar/pitcher thing. I'm not sure why that is, but I hope that's helpful.

Good morning, Friends! Happy Birthday, Bulletproof!

Diana - you didn't list the Ninja, but I highly recommend it. You can purchase it at Walmart for around $30. It comes with a large pitcher and a smaller prep blender. Chops everything up and blends easily!

Kukkie- Bet it was the drinks.
Love - How nice to get compliments!
Authentic - So glad to hear that you kicked that plateau to the curb!
Aimee - I'm sending good thoughts your way. Hope things look brighter soon.

The scales are smiling for me today. Lost .6. Worked on my flowers and sanding the deck railing yesterday. My allergies are crazy today! Going to pick up some donation items for the tornado relief efforts. A friend and her husband will be making several trips across the state border this week. When I come home, I need to finish painting the deck railing and possibly staining the deck. I have so much to do today and not enough hours in the day!

Have a great on-plan day.

Star congratulations on reaching your Ideal Weight :high:

Angie I so wish I could have stuck with this --->Anyway, I think it's awesome that you decided to start eating healthy again now, rather than waiting 5 more days until Monday. That's how you'll win this battle, making one great decision at a time. I don't know what my problem is. I think this journey gets harder and harder as I go. I say the words and have full intentions on doing what I say and then screw up horribly in the late afternoon/evening. Angie what is your typical monthly treadmill miles goal? Got my answer 40k ... that was cute about Cameron and his pj's :)

Ona I don't like to leave anybody out. LOL I do admit that looks like I have a lot of time on my hands because sometimes I have to make time for me and 3fc is my me time. And you know what I've noticed is when I am on here I do what I am supposed to a little better. I have got to keep my fingers away from food every minute  I know you didn't ask for all of that

Mandy what a sweet story about Curtis not working nights :) Hugs for you on helping your friend  that had to be hard.

JamiSue LOL glad I can make somebody smile/laugh. I'm surely not smiling much here lately, but I am so trying to stay positive. :) I'm behind again all this catching up is from last week :D JamiSue we have two scales both digital the one in the kids bathroom will give you a 3-4lb hike my son told me from mine. I have used the same scale since I started so I don't ever get on there's.

eclipse Congratulations on the 80lbs gone from this time last year :high:

Diana my Moms husband noticed the amount of sodium in the soups at Panera Bread. I only noticed it in the chicken noodle. He won't eat their soup at all.

reptogirl hope everyone is doing better and this is a better week for you

Kukkie great NSV on the bras :) Gotta laugh for ya' ... we were shopping and I picked out a few bras and handed them to DH. He said they look kind of big, I told him they are really small it's just the padding that I need to fill them out, what little boobs I had the weight loss took that away

Authentic great job on the 2lbs gone for the week :)

Kukkie that the crazy gains happen to me too ... I hope it goes away soon

JamiSue great whoosh 2.6lbs gone :high:

Rhonda great job on the .6 down :) Compliments are great especially when we don't feel our best.

Fit4Lyfe great job on the 8.8lbs gone for the month and the .2 today :)

eclipse gotta love TOM ... I'm hoping that's part of my reason for the 1.8 gain :D gotta blame it on TOM at least ;)

Roxy :crossed: you don't have to hide in hall either

I am having the hardest time with new windows 7 laptop. I am hitting a key that is giving me a new tab or refreshing and deleting what I am typing it is driving me nuts.

Now my other gripe ... I have only had a smoothie and a cup of V8 juice. WHY? because I don't feel like fixing anything else and I don't want to go in the kitchen and eat the wrong thing. HELP!!!

@angie - no the bridal shower was planned well in advance, so i knew to eat light during the day to sort of balance out the goodies at the shower. kudos to my mama who didn't make the brownies with the caramel that she knows i love so much and would eat like 4 of them!

@love i'm stoked about the 'no overnights' or very few of them. i was shocked that his supervisor is so considerate! most bosses are not. :)

today for me showed a drop of .4lbs, to 275.6... yay 275! i'm of the mind that every pound is a victory and every time that number before the decimal goes down i celebrate! :)

*deep breath* i've also posted my first 2 progress pics on my blog, in anticipation of a 3rd one (at 270, my entry into obese, instead of morbidly so), and to sort of motivate me. "i can't keep looking *that* bad if people are watching me!"... the link is on the side <- and there's a tab at the top that says "progress photos"... i tend to babble on my blog about various things, feel free to peruse! :)

Mandy I'm happy for the two of you. I remember when my hubby was working nights it drove me crazy, but we also had 4 children then also. :) Then I decided to go back to work and worked nights for 5 months. That drove me crazy also :dizzy: In your progress photos I can tell around the neck area. Keep up the great work

I had a pretty descent lunch finally ... tuna w/4 saltines, brussel sprouts, sandwich thin, and a apple for snack. I needed the calorie count for a red apple medium size. I found 72-81, does that sound right to you all?

But the best part is I couldnt fit into them jeans in October! I got 3 pairs of 22s!(was wearing 26s) and a tight pair of 24s and they are skinny jeans! Never had them!! Im also fitting into 1x and even got a XL but some tops were 2x but fitting into the jeans there made me so happy!!! I also got this cute tank top kinda shirt but cut low in the front that I love but will take me a while to be able to wear in public  Hope everyone had a good day!

Ok, I'm back in for this month. I stopped breastfeeding last month and so everything went pretty wonky for me. I gained about 6 lbs from my low (237), so am working on that again. I think I have a plan figured out... 1600-1800 cals/day, gym (cardio/weights) 4-5 days/week, walks on the off days. I'm also dealing with some weird cycle issues. I've been either nursing or pregnant since Feb, 2007 so I have only had one period in nearly 3.5 years. I can tell that things are already going strange in that area and I don't know what to anticipate.

So.

April 30th: 240.6

1: 244.4

I had a boatload of sodium yesterday, only got a couple hours of sleep and I think I might be starting my cycle (I really have no idea). I also started going to the gym this week and did a solid hour on the elliptical yesterday. My muscles are sore from starting a lifting routine this week, too... so I'm attributing this monster gain to mostly water weight. I've been within my calories, so I will just keep on trucking and see where it goes. :)

Woke up to a winter wonderland this morning! Feels more like November than May, I just need to remind myself summer IS coming :D

Diana - Great whoosh this morning!! I don't know about those blenders, I asked the BF about then since it's his job to know all about them. He's not a huge fan of Oster, he says Cuisinart, Krups, and Breville - the last of which is his favorite brand. He also says that on some of the cheaper ones, they list the watt's, but not to fall for that since that those won't matter if it's a cheaper motor, it'll still burn out. But all of that depends on how much you plan to use it, what you are using it for and so on. We tend to invest a little more and have had the same blender for 6 years. Ours is a Krups.

Ona - Woohoo you are in the 180's!! Getting pretty close to goal :)

Angie - I think you shouldn't get TOM in May, you should be rewarded for getting it twice in April. Make sure you tell me all about Vegas, because I've never been! I don't know what I need to do! Too much probably! Great loss this morning :D

love2b - It's hard ending a month with TOM, I'm sure you would have done much better if you weren't getting it. Thanks for reminding me that 2.7 isn't all that bad :) I got on the scale this morning :o Bad idea! I was up 1.1! However I was running late for work, and then ended up going to the bathroom, and I definitely lost that 1.1 ;) TMI I know ;)

Bulletproof - Happy Birthday!! Hope you are having a fabulous day!! :D

Rhonda - thanks :) Today was a good day! Sounds like a very busy day! Nice loss for you this morning too!!

Roxy - stay safe! I bet the gain is from the stress, sounds like it could be a very stressful situation! We've had to evacuate half our province pretty much due to the flooding. Is tornado season usually this bad for you?

Mandy - I don't know you do it with the overnights AND planning a wedding! Thank goodness for his good boss :) Very generous!

So I had jumped on the scale this more pre-bathroom break. It was bad, so I'm refusing to take it :D I am SO excited I can sleep in tomorrow, and am really hoping to wake up and the snow will be GONE! Fingers crossed! I'm training this weekend at work, which I love for a few reasons.. first, I get paid 18 bucks an hour which is nice! And second, it's a nice change, I get to meet the newbie's, and it makes me think! I also eat less, since I almost always work thru my breaks.

Gale Hi

Aimee Thank you. We use the blender for margaritas and protein drinks, etc. Nothing big. We don't even use it on a regular basis, so I didn't want to put a lot of money in it. The one we have now is a 14 speed I think. It only works on 2 speeds, now. We've had it since we got married, almost 23 years ago.

I jumped on so quick this morning to check in. I didn't have time to share or do personals.

So, I just wanted to share that I did it everyone! I walked and completed the Half Marathon (13.2 miles) yesterday in just over four hours! I wanted to quit so badly once I hit 10 miles but somehow managed to keep putting one foot in front of the other until I made it. I also burned almost 2100 calories!! woo hoo!!! I'm SO proud of myself! My feet, knees, and hips are SO freaking sore but I think I just might try another half marathon - who knows...maybe next year I'll run one!

In addition to shaking up my workout program after that crazy gain last week, I've also decided to give daily weigh-ins a try. I'm just now beginning to realize the delicate balance between the types of food, how many calories, and how much exercise. I don't want to go overboard, but the devil's in the details, right? I figure it could be helpful to really delve into all the data for a month until I get to know myself better!

Diana -- I'm sure you don't need anymore suggestions but I LOVE the KitchenAid blender I bought at BB&B. We've had it for about five years and it blends everything so well!

Girly -- Congratulations on getting all that outdoor work done. Congratulations on the loss!!! Take care of those allergies too, though I'm sure they're about to get worse as you spend more time on that deck.

LadynRedd -- I think you only wanted to join this thread so you can brag about your trip to Cancun at the end of the month! ;) Just kidding. (Kind of). :) Anyway...WELCOME!!

Fit4Lyfe -- Congrats on losing 8.8 last month. I know it wasn't what you were hoping for but here's to losing 10 this month!

Eclipse -- Boo! I hope Aunt Flow leaves soon!

Roxy -- Boo on your TOM too! I really hope that the bad weather stays away from you guys!

Love2b -- I'm so sorry that you're not smiling much these days. It seems such a shame - especially when you're so good at making other people smile. I'll start working on my one liners so I can return the favor, okay? AND, I am SO done with the crazy scale switching. From here on out it's the Wii and the Wii only! :D You got figure out what short cut key you're hitting before you drive yourself nuts! (Or is it too late for that?) On the red apples, your calorie count sounds right but you probably want to lean toward the higher count...just to be safe. ;)

Mandy -- Love the pics! I can definitely see a difference! Congrats on making it to the 275's!

Bullet -- Congratulations on the jeans! I don't think there's anything better than clothing NSVs!

Gale -- Lots going on with you right now. I hope you're body settles into a routine now that you're not pregnant or breastfeeding. I imagine that's a pretty big shift so GOOD LUCK!

Aimee -- Yay on the pay increase during training! It's nice to hae to use our brains now and then too, right? ;)

Angie
05-01-2011, 09:37 PM
Authentic -- Sounds like a great week, congratulations on that and on figuring out what works for your body. :)

Jeri -- Sorry about the gain today!

Roxy -- Stay safe please! Check in now and then so we'll know you're okay. :)

Rennie -- I'm finding exercising more is helping me stay on plan, I feel like I don't want to have wasted my time. It also helps to pass some time when I feel like munching. I'm aiming for 40k again this month...so about 24 miles. It can be so hard to stick to plan sometimes, I know that my head is not in the game when I start struggling. My only advice is to just keep coming here, check in and play along until you can get your head to catch up with your heart on this. Yes the apple calories sound about right.

Mandy -- Thanks for sharing the pics! I see a difference already in your face...and I like your hair in the ponytail! What kind of gifts did you get for your shower? I wish there were someone in my family getting married, it's been a while since I went to a shower or had a wedding in the family, I'm starting to miss it!

Bulletproof -- Wow, fabulous shopping trip! What a gift to get to buy new sizes :) :) Hope you are rocking the new skinny jeans ;)

Gale -- Welcome back :) Sounds like you have a good plan for May.

Aimee -- This trip to Vegas will be my first too...I'll tell you all about it, I promise. Sounds like a fun week at work, and very profitable too! Better luck on the scale tomorrow.

Diana

Jamisue -- Fantastic! Congratulations on your half marathon!

I spent a lot of today making a quilt for DS...it's been ages since I've sewed, but I really felt the urge lately. I'm using old jeans to make the top, so I'm recycling too. :D We went out for dinner (to a Tex-Mex type restaurant) to celebrate that Cameron can now successfully read his entire sight word list. I have to admit that I did not show much restraint at all, but I did come home and do 40 minutes on the treadmill as a kind of penalty :p. It does let me finish the day at just 100 calories over plan. Now I'm trying to drink everything in sight to avoid the dreaded sodium gain.

Cute line of the day...
Cameron (accusingly) "Why is the TV not working Mom!?"...(and then with horror) "Is this a nightmare?"

love2b150

Bullet glad you had a wonderful day! Congrats on the NSV with the shopping :)

Gale your plan sounds great :) Oh do I remember those days. My friends would say, are you pregnant again :) I'd say yep ;)

Aimee it was pretty nice when we got out of church ... then the sun was behind the clouds and I needed to turn the heat on for a moment. And with some of the things I say it's never TMI. That is the one good thing about TOM I am regular for all the days I'm on. :crossed: for the snow to be gone. And glad you get to sleep in tomorrow.

Diana I'm trying goodness knows I'm trying. I think I'd go crazy if I had to buy another new wardrobe. Remember I gave away my old clothes so I can't go back :crossed: Wow now that's a blender 23 years, I buy the same brand and same kind as close to it as I could get. :)

JamiSue you're so sweet. Congrats on your run, YOU GO GIRL :high: I haven't typed professionally since 2005 so now I just get by and these new computers are so tempermental :D.

Well I ended with 1556 calories today maybe a little more but didn't go over my 1600. May go downstairs for 20 minutes on the treadmill. TOM is so heavy it's ridiculous. This just makes for a mess, something else to get on my nerves. Just ignore me the next few days. I think the 180's, my eating and TOM are just too much at once. Next week will be better :)

love2b150
05-01-2011, 09:49 PM
Angie that's how I felt last year. I would never waste my 3 miles plus on eating stupid things. But with working and now not working it's just so hard to get back to the old Rennie. I mean everything has changed. I quit on 4/4 and I just got back into the routine of my regular housework ... the kids hate it. (they liked it better when I was just letting it slide) I remember when Vixsin went on that cleaning spree oh how I wished it was me but I was exhausted all the time. Then I felt like the lazy bug slapped me and that has never been me. My friends call me the Super Mom (but where did she go)
My only advice is to just keep coming here, check in and play along until you can get your head to catch up with your heart on this. <--- thanks for the advice  Well thanks for listening to another gripe :) and best of luck on the scale in the morning

gifts from the bridal shower... the order i opened them

from MIL2 (curtis' stepmom) and Gma Svenn, i got a set of hot pink and black tools, and a women's prayer book.

then they left and i opened one from a friend of my mom's, an honorary aunt if you will, she had it tied with multiple difficult ribbons. inside was: a pack of amp energy drinks for the wedding night, a gift card to applebees, and $75 in visa gift cards.

after that i opened the one from another honorary aunt, and it was a gift certificate to a spa for a massage and mani/pedi.

then i opened mom's gifts... from mom i got a gorgeous photo album for my wedding photos, two books, one titled "great sex" the other "the art of sensual massage" (i love my mom haha), as well as a certificate stating that i do not have to pay rent (the parents are the landlords) for the summer after i'm married and before i move.

from MIL1 (curtis' mom) and his sister i got bride/groom travel mugs w/ lids that keep drinks hot or cold, as well as a stove top popcorn popper, and 4 big plastic popcorn cups

1: 251.6 (damnit! 0.6 gained? Went for a 6 km hike yesterday burning 2731 calories and only ate 1400-1500 calories that day. I'm hoping it's just retention caused by dehydration b/c I didn't pack enough water, and because TOM is approaching. We'll see what it is tomorrow. I posted this on the accountability thread but I wanted to be accountable here too. Hope it's ok ...

Breakfast supposed to add peanut butter to this but the taste is overwhelming and berries (I know the strawberry yogurt isn't the same)
smoothie = light vanilla ice cream, light strawberry & peach yogurt, almond milk and vanilla whey protein powder, low sodium V8

Lunch
tuna w/light mayo and relish and 4 saltines, whole wheat sandwich thin w/cinnamon, and brussel sprouts

Snack
medium red apple and later a bag of honey cashews

Dinner
salmon, green beans, 1/2 biscuit and a little baked potato w/spray butter

Today's calories 1556 maybe a little more
86ozs of water
exercise treadmill 18:46 minutes, 1 mile burned 126 calories

not the greatest but better than I've been :)

Good night everyone :crossed: for great weigh-ins for us all :grouphug:

I was gone for most of last month (though I still tracked) so I'm glad to be back and chat with all of the regulars and meet the new folks!

I'm up slightly from my last weigh in, but I was out of town this weekend and sick to boot, so I didn't get any exercise in...AND we had a 85th birthday party to attend!

I am a little bummed because I was hoping to reach my goal weight by my 1 year anniversary of my weight loss (May 8) and as I got closer to that date and realized that I wouldn't reach my goal, I felt down. Which was RIDICULOUS! How could I not celebrate how far I've come? How could I be depressed that I didn't lose 127lbs in a year when I *have* lost 119lbs!? So I decided just to not be upset about it - celebrate the 1 year mark and move forward. I'm looking to the future, and deciding where my new goal weight will settle - 175lbs just marks my venture into 'overweight' and I know I want to go a little further, but just haven't decided how much.

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the group, Chantelle.
Welcome back, Gale.
Bulletproof - Congratulations on fitting into smaller jeans!
JamiSue - Congratulations on completing your 1/2 marathon!
Angie- I love Cameron's comment! My girls would think it was a nightmare if we lost the internet.
Reptogirl- Hang in there! Hope life settles down soon.
Mandy - Those are wonderful gifts!
Diana - Hope you work week is good despite the busy-ness. Oh, and this is the one I have http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ninja-Master-Prep-Food-and-Drink-Maker/14895654 There are different levels of Ninja This is the basic one that I use for my protein shakes with ice. Crushes and blends the ice with ease.

The scales went back up by .6 today. I have no idea why. Fickle scales!

Today, I have a dental appointment to have to fillings replaced. I really, really don't like going to the dentist! Hopefully, all goes well and I'll make it to Zumba this evening.

I made the decision to go off Medifast. I have 8 days of food left. This plan does cost quite a bit each month and I wanted to make a donation for relief to the tornado victims. I originally started this plan to give myself a kickstart and it did do that. I'm now detoxed off the sugar and eating on a schedule. I'm planning to transition to a combination of Southbeach and calorie counting. I must confess....I'm terrified that my weight loss will stop or will slow down to almost nothing! I'll be researching some meals and snacks that I want to use as my go-to meals for the first few weeks. I'm going to try to make the transition as easy as possible!

Have a great on-plan day.

I am on a combination of Southbeach and Weightwatcher's and it is working for me. I am losing around 2 lbs a week. I was just on Southbeach (you don't count calories or points on Southbeach) and I hit a plateau for like a month so I realized I needed to be more accountable as to how many calories I was eating. Since I find counting calories to be difficult, I am using Weightwatcher's online and counting points instead. I like their tools and its a good daily diary for me to be accountable and stick to my food plan.

Did you like the Medifast? I was afraid that I would get sick of the shakes pretty quickly, so I never tried it.

Down 0.4 to 200.1 - loads of water to flush out the previous nights' drinks. But then I also did some Zumba, yoga, and weight lifting, so I now suspect I'm retaining some of that water for muscle repair. Be back shortly for personals.

fitkristi You're so close to goal, WTG! You have come so far this year, I can't wait to see where you decide to settle in.

Yay you keep getting below youe goal weight :)!!! Have a good day!

@fitkristi
I can understand being bummed about not hitting your year mark but dont be! Your at almost the same start weight as me and I figured even losing 10lbs a month it will take over a year to get to it you did an awesome job with all the weight you lost!!

@GirlyGirlSebas
Scales are a very tricky device!

@Kukkie84
Congrats on the .4

At 261.8 today and going with my friend for Chinese since we couldnt do it yesterday :) not long after chinese were going to school and I will need to drink a lot of water so im gonna try to pack 3-4 water bottles!

Today I am down .8 to 177.6. I'm probably about halfway finished with the spring cleaning. With the constant rain, I can't get any yard work done and the dog is always wet when he comes in and leaves paw prints everywhere so I can't keep the floors clean, grrrr! I'm going to the gym this morning, I didn't go all last week. After that I'm spending a few hours helping with donation stuff for tornado victims on base and then more cleaning.

Bulletproof - Congrats on the clothing. Sounds like a good b-day treat for yourself and new sizes are always awesome.

Aimee - It's stress, TOM, and sodium all combined. I'm not worried, it's going away. We've been here since August '08 and never seen it this bad. The locals say it's not usually like this either. The entire continent is having strange weather this year. We also have lots of evacuation in this area for flooding and our area is under a constant flood watch right now. Enjoy the training week!

Diana - Your blender and my micro should be buddies. I've had it since 2001, not 23 years yet, but it's still goin strong and that's after spending a few years in England where the power difference should have shortened its lifespan. LOL

JamiSue - :congrat: on the half marathon!

Angie - A quilt from old jeans sounds adorable. I have wanted to learn to quilt, but so far have not found the time. A nightmare, lol, he's too cute.

Mandy - Energy drinks, LOL, I love that one!

Rhonda - A change like could make your loss slow down or stall, but it will go back to normal. I think the planning ahead that you are doing now will probably help. Good luck! That's awesome that you want to donate to tornado victims. I was not personally hit (yet :crossed:) but I live in the area of Arkansas that was hit hardest (the base hubby is stationed on was hit) and I have friends and family in Alabama, so I know people who were hit.

Hi blinkworks :welcome: ... When I weigh at night I'm 3-4lbs lighter in the a.m.

ophelia I feel the same way about the 8 that you do about the 3. I think that number likes me. I saw a 6 in September of last year so I know it exist but it keeps hiding :D Gotta find some humor in this  We'll see new numbers this month :)

Hi Chantelle :welcome:

Hi Diana, do let us know if you find your blender though. Have a great week

Hi Xaria good job on the .2 down :)

Rhonda that's what I wanted to do was SB and calorie count but I think in my mind and with my limited discipline I do better with just counting. Best of luck to you in your transition  LOL I think all young people and older (like me would think it's a nightmare to be without the internet) we are so spoiled, hehehe. Hope all goes well at the dentist and you feel up to Zumba.

My update ...

First thank you ALL for putting up with my whining yesterday :grouphug:
I must had kicked/pinched a nerve or something that helped. My weigh in today was 177.6. I am down 3.8lbs. I did my usual on off the scale and the number did not change. And I weighed in only 5 minutes earlier than yesterday. So I'm feeling revived and happy today ... thank goodness :). Hope this keeps up :crossed:

I hope you ALL has a Positively On Point day

April 30: 251.0

1: 251.6 (damnit! 0.6 gained? Went for a 6 km hike yesterday burning 2731 calories and only ate 1400-1500 calories that day. I'm hoping it's just retention caused by dehydration b/c I didn't pack enough water, and because TOM is approaching. We'll see what it is tomorrow. I think I should step it up with the exercise now that I'm heading into my 3rd week.)
2: 252.2 - what the heck?! I really, really, hope this is just because maybe TOM is approaching (Im so irregular, I never really know until it arrives) - but I followed my plan yesterday, deviating only to get a McDonald's cone (150 calories) and I budgeted it for that, too. Not 100% sure why I've gained a pound and a bit back. Very annoying!

alrighty everyone, i'm here. checking in.

reporting an up today, but not a big one. 0.2lbs to 275.8 but i'm not gonna stress it. why? TMI - no poo today yet, so that's easy enough to fix. and also, after i have little gains i tend to have a whoosh. like a pound or so, like my body needs to gear up to let go of the weight. don't know how that works, but it's a pattern i've noticed.

it also means that i managed to not go overboard with my 3 day weekend and overeat like i tend to do when i've got time off. staring at leftover candy and a huge bin of cashews. so i'll take it! :)

everyone have a good day today!

Rainbowgirl

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 pounds

April 30: 282.6
1: 280.0 (-2.6)
2: 278.9 (-1.1) TOTAL LOST -3.7

Down 1.1 this morning! Yay! Started my daily weigh-ins Sunday and will do my "official" weigh-in on Friday mornings. Woke up feeling great this morning - but mostly because I decided to sleep in! :) I've already made plans to hit the gym and swim laps :swim: after work though so I can meet my goal of working out 6 days/week. :)

Angie -- Hearing you talk about quilting is making me get the bug. I haven't made a quilt since I was in high school. My mom had saved a bunch of jeans so she could make a denim quilt but never got around to it. I think I just might have to see if she still has all that stuff. Sounds like fun! Great job hopping on that treadmill when you got home! LOVE the stuff about the T.V....kids are so freaking funny!

Rennie -- Next week will definitely be better! Heavy TOMs are the WORST!!! I LOVED the advice Angie gave you. Keep checking in until your head catches up with your heart...perfect!

Mandy -- What GREAT gifts! It's getting so close....are you just dying?!? Great job staying OP over the weekend! You are doing AMAZING!

Chantelle -- :welcome3:

FitKristi -- Good job on checking the bad feelings about your goal weight. You have done/are doing FANTASTIC!

Rhonda -- Good luck on tweaking your plan. Sounds like you're planning ahead well so even if you have some bumps I'm confident you'll recover quickly.

Eclipse -- Yay! 130lbs!!

Matilda -- Great job having such an aggressive goal this month. You'll never know what you're capable of unless you try, right? Good luck!

Rainbowgirl -- Yuck! I COMPLETELY know how you feel. I gained almost 7lbs last week and had no idea why. You'll start heading back in the right direction in no time.

Thaisccs -- Congrats on losing 50lbs! YAY!!!

Mare -- woo hoo!!!

Roxy take care of yourself with all those warnings! You'll be in my thoughts.

star I didn't get to saying this before, but holy ideal weight range! Congratulations lady, that's a huge accomplishment.

mandy glad to hear your enjoyed the bridal shower. Very sweet (no pun intended) of your mom to not make your brownies  and I love your gifts, very neat ideas.

Diana yep, still smoke free. 7.5 months now, which I find amazing and such an accomplishment. But then it also gets me down because in that 7.5 months, I've also yo-yo'd with the same weight, when I could have been at my goal. Oh well, I've recommitted and hopefully I'll get there soon.

JamiSue congrats on finishing the half marathon. That's fabulous!

Angie Cameron is the most adorable thing ever! Are you with Rogers? I heard a lot of people were having issues yesterday.

Chantelle and thaisccs welcome to the group!

Kristi glad you got out of that funk, because that's an amazing accomplishment!

Rhonda we'll all be here to support you during your transition, but always good to have a plan in place!

Jeri 130 lbs is an amazing feat! Congratulations!

Rennie great job on your 3.8! Glad you're feeling renewed. I wish I could get there too

Gotta get back to work, so  to Meh, Gale, Rainbow, Matilda, Arctic Mama, Aimee, Eliana, Bullet and anyone else I missed

grrr another non diet day, but on a good note, i am starting to feel better!!! my throat really isn't hurting much now, i woke up without a voice..just whispers and cracking sounds but through out the day it has come back..if i keep feeling better i should feel up to tackle a grocery store and get some decent food i can eat..and my sister should probably get to come home from the hospital tomorrow as well

I was fortunate to stay the same despite the sodium laden dinner last night, but I did 4k when we got home, so I hope that helped. I ate out for lunch again today, but with another 3k under my belt I ended the day 250 calories under plan. Hopefully I will dodge yet another sodium bullet. Tomorrow is a work at home day, so great on plan food is on the agenda for me.

Ophelia - Hope to see you reach the 220's tomorrow.

Diana  Talk to you at the end of your busy week!

Kristi - Welcome back! Where are you for sizes now? Is there a target size you have in mind?

Rhonda -- Hope the dentist appt went okay for you. Luckily for DS our TV was only out of commission for about 10 minutes while I figured out which buttons he had pressed :D

Kukkie -- Way to get in lots of exercise! Yes, we're with Rogers -- so maybe that was the issue!

Bulletproof -- Congrats on your weigh in today :)

Roxy -- Good job on the loss and the spring cleaning! I have the same problem with floors and the dog. About the quilting, I took a 'learn to quilt in a day' class about 10 years ago and I was hooked. I haven't done much sewing since Cameron was born, but I felt like it was time.

Jeri -- Congratulations on your loss today and your fabulous overall loss!

Rennie -- Wowowwowow whoosh! Whatever you did yesterday, keep on doing it!

Mare -- Good job on the last 4 weeks!!

Mandy -- Congratulations on managing your long weekend well :)

Jamisue -- Yup, I'm collecting old jeans from everyone now...lol. I was ticked off that I had to go buy some at a thrift shop to get me started. Congratulations on your great start to May!

Angie - Thanks for the welcome! I'm in size 12 for pants, but fit into one pair of 10's (miracle!) - my exercise clothing pants are Larges, and some mediums. I fit into larges for shirts, with the occasional medium thrown in. It's just MIND boggling to me that I'm out of plus sizes!

reptogirl glad you're getting better, :crossed: for a good day tomorrow for you and your sister

Hi Friends! I dropped a pound overnight. Gotta love those crazy scales!
I'm running behind on work because of my dental appointment yesterday. No time for personals. Ladies, get your vitamin D levels checked! Mine was crazy low and I had no clue until I decided to ask my doctor to test me last year. Now, I have issues with my teeth and the beginning stages of bone degeneration. :(

Thanks to each of you for your encouragement about me switching off of Medifast. I'm 47, in menopause and have a very slow metabolism. A lot of diets simply don't work on my body. I'm hoping that Southbeach principles will work for me again.

Have a great on-plan day.

Thanks for each of you

I am so in this month too!!!! My official loss for April was 3 lbs. I am in it to win it in May!!!!

Hi Everyone!!

WOW! Have I (and this thread!!)been busy! I hope you all have been doing well.

the weekend was great. Busy as usual.

Today my scale rewarded me with a huge whoosh down of 2.6 lbs down to 195.2!!! I don't think it will stick around tomorrow but it's here today! I think my random gains all last week were due to ovulation. I think now that I had the Mirena, I am becoming one of those who gains at ovulation and then again around TOM's arrival....Super. :)

I've had 2 MAJOR NSV's!!! I am officially NO LONGER OBESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never thought I would be so happy to say that I am OVERWEIGHT and I am proud!!!!!! :high:

And yesterday, I bought a treadmill!!!! I can't wait to pick it up!! I can't wait to have it in my house and be able to stare at it longingly as I walk by it to do laundry. LOL

All that makes for a VERY happy girl today!!!!!!

Wow have I ever missed a lot!
No internet, No scale for the last little while.
So, I don't know what I weigh right now . . . . I think i've gone up a bit, I can 'feel' it, weird as that sounds.

BUT . . . . I have restarted my weight lifitng, restarted my treadmill and restarting C25K this week!!
I've been eating healthy foods, cooking healthier and making sure I'm eating enough and not under eating from stress.
Jack has started a new daycare and it actually ends up freeing up about 35 minutes for me each morning as it's so so close. Kind of upset that I dropped him off this morning and got "Ok, love you bye mama" and off to the toys he went - but I know that's a really great thing.
Things with S, well they are what they are, we are civil the few times we speak and that's good enough.

big breath . . . here we go :) :)

Vix - CONGRATS!!!!! :carrot::carrot:I love the 'in it to win it' motto for the month, i'm right there with ya!! Im glad to be able to jump back on here, the positive vibe is infectious :) Awesome on the treadmill :D

GirlyGirl - You've got the determination to find what works for you, good on ya!! Keep at it and you'll find it for sure

Kukkie - Rock it OUT with that whoosh!! Way to go!

Angie - Quilting I never got into, my mother makes beautiful quilts and has always made for me and my brother. I still cherish them :) I'll stick to making my jewelry, I'm too much of an instant gratification person lol.

Love - Good for you shaving time off your mile, those seconds may seem small but they build up!

FitKristi - .5 is great! Glad to see you back, your one year is coming up and look how much you've accomplished . . . amazing. :) :)

Matilda - Throw down with those pounds and reach your goal this month, i know you can do it!!

Aimee - Day off, oh what a joy that would be, at least your getting some nice weather instead of rain for it. Hows the month been treating ya all 3 days of it lol - no more headaches for you I hope!

Welcome to everyone new, sorry I know I've missed a LOT of people, I'll be back a little later but should probably do some kind of work while I'm at my desk :p

Angie

Hi everyone! I'm up .6 today, but I know it's a sodium gain. Looking forward to having a whoosh as the restaurant food leaves me. I've already logged 7km for May and plan on adding a few more today. 19 days until I leave for Vegas!

Kristi -- That must be so awesome! I was in the mall last weekend and realized I haven't mall-shopped in ages. I've been online shopping mostly because I feel a bit embarrassed about shopping in non-plus sized stores...like they might ask me to leave because I'm still on the border. :dizzy: Congrats on your .5 today!

Rennie -- Sounds like you had a great day yesterday, congratulations!

Aimee -- Congrats on your .4, enjoy your day off today :)

Starbrite

Diana

Roxy -- Sorry about the gain. Do you find that exercise helps with your cramps? It has been working for me -- I knew TOM was coming because of breast tenderness and general irritability, but the cramps did not come in advance this time, and were not even too back during for a change.

Kiyoshima -- Congrats on your 1.5 today! Where are you moving?

Kukkie -- Whoosh! Good job!!

Gale -- When that happens to me (lower at night than the next morning) it's normally because of sodium...could that be the case for you?

Rhonda - Congrats on your 1lb loss today!

Vixsin -- Whoosh for you too! Awesome! You're going to love the convenience of having the treadmill. I use it often after DS is in bed or while he's vegged out watching a movie for the umpteenth millionth time. :D

Matilda -- Love the attitude, if you're doing the right things those little gains mean nothing, it will be gone soon and take a few friends with it!

Coondocks -- Well I am an instant gratification person too...I always choose simple patterns, and I machine quilt, so if all things are on my side I can finish a top of a quilt in a day or two. Then I only have to work up the energy to finish the bottom (the boring part)...lol. I also make beaded lanyards to hold security passes for work, or the things that hold your glasses around your neck -- I make those when I want to see something started and finished in an hour or two :) That was a great daycare find for you and it sounds like Jack is happy there too, great all around! Good luck with your C25K. I've dropped out, I couldn't move on to week 4, but I've been doing a lot more fast walking.

Ona -- Miss you! :sumo:

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 pounds (Ready to kick butt in May!)

April 30: 282.6
1: 280.0 (-2.6)
2: 278.9 (-1.1)
3: 276.0 (-2.9) TOTAL LOST -6.6

Woke up with a major headache :headache: this morning but am able to ignore it for now thanks to the GREAT news the Wii man gave me this morning! Finally down to where I was last week before my HUGE and CRAZY UP WHOOSH! I didn't work out yesterday and haven't worked out yet today. I was still pretty sore yesterday from the 1/2 marathon but am definitely feeling better today. I'm going to stop want to swim laps on my home today - so I can hopefully continue to see losses on the scale.

I'm fantasing about the 260's, right now. I haven't been in the 260's in almost four years! Here's hoping I get back there soon! :crossed:

Kiyoshima -- I know what you mean about missing exercise. I'm a day off my routine and I can tell the difference! Good for you for focusing on getting back on track! Congrats on the loss this morning too!

Reptogirl -- So sorry to hear that you're still not feeling great but at least it is getting better. My husband has been sick for two weeks now and hasn't been to the gym because he feels so awful. Sending you  and hoping you get better soon.

Angie -- You are the model of balancing food indulgences with excellent exercise! Great job!!

Kristi -- Wow! Out of plus sizes...how fantastic! :cp: I can't wait for there to no longer be a 2 in front of the size on my clothes! Congrats on the loss this morning!

Rennie -- Congrats on the time you made for the mile! Being an avid walker myself, I happen to think that's a GRRRREAT time! Great job on the water drinking too! I still haven't mastered that one!

Aimee -- You'll be loving all that OT when payday comes! Glad to hear you'll have some time for R&R soon and congrats on the loss!

Lizz -- SO LONG 240's! They're are going to be in your rear view in no time! ;)

Diana -- GOOD MORNING!!

FitGirly -- So sorry to hear about your cramps! I have brutal menstrual cramps as well and truly sympathize. I hope they (and that pesky pound) take their leave soon!

Kukkie -- Go Kukkie! Go Kukkie! Hooray on the whoossshh!!

Gale -- You exercise 3.5 hours yesterday?!? Holy smokes! That fake weight gain will be gone for sure!

Rhonda -- Thanks for the tip on Vit D. I never think about that stuff and had no idea they could test for it.

Vixsin -- I'm you girl! I was only down 2.2 in April so me and May have got some beef to settle! CONGRATULATIONS on being overweight! That is an amazing success!

Matilda -- Great attitude! I'm new to daily weighing but don't let the sale take away the success of having an OP day!

Coondocks -- Welcome back! It's always bitter sweet when our little ones run off to play when we drop them off. Good for them but always a little tough for us. Congratulations on starting your C25k plan again! I had read you and others talking about that and final decided to figure out what it was. The plan sounds amazing! I think I'll give it a try in a month or two myself. :D

Coondocks There you are! Thank you I appreciate you saying that especially since you all workout like crazy  Aw they do make you wanna cry sometimes (our little ones). I drove to work with tears rolling down my face. She laughs when I tell that story now :)

3: 252.6 TOM still not here, still getting intermittent symptoms that it's approaching but not here yet. Frustrated, but I know I haven't gone over my calorie budget so I cannot be gaining weight through that (I'm not eating high fat foods or low-nutritional value foods). Just have to persevere and wait.

You don't ovulate when you're on the pill, but there's still some hormonal things that happen around that time. You just don't release any eggs. :)

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone! I am confident that if I stick to my plan the scale will cooperate. So, in the face of my inexplicable gain this morning I played an hour of racquetball at the gym. Take that, silly scale! ;)

@ JamiSue - Yep, Mondays are my big exercise day. I did an hour of cardio and a half hour of weights at the gym in the morning and then played 2 hours of volleyball in the evening. I've been playing volleyball for years, through my high and low weights; I even played 7 months pregnant with my first  I just love it! :D

Jamisue - Yep, I eat out often for work, and I try to make good choices, but still, restaurant food is always more full of sodium, and it's sometimes hard to get accurate calorie counts. The exercise is a little insurance for me, if I was off on the calories, or if the sodium is high, I like to give myself a little wiggle room.

Mandy - Way to go holding steady!

Rennie -- Congratulation on your .8 today -- that combined with yesterday is pretty great. Love your goals for May!

Rainbowgirl -- Stick with your plan, it will pay off soon and you'll get your whoosh :)

Gale -- Good job on the exercise!

Hey all! Can I jump into this May Scales Party?? I don't often pay attention to my daily weight (even tho I get on the scale mostly every morning) because, like a lot of you, I just naturally fluctuate t/o the month  But what I really liked about this group was all the people concentrating not on the number but whether they were OP and exercised the day before!! Good job everyone!

So I think this will be good for me! Bold is official weigh in for Harry Potter Challenge.

i figured it had to be something, because i tend to gain around ovulation, and i was wondering if those 'hormonal things' that still occur when it's *supposed* to happen could be contributing to my scale not moving...

Good Morning, Everyone!

I haven't mentioned this recently. I am still having issues with and try to figure out my food allergy. It has gotten better. I think I may be allergic to a couple things. Maybe a food family. :dunno: Anyways, that's what I am dealing with right now. I think it's responsible for my gain the last couple of days. It will pass though.

Hi Friends! Gained .02 today. I'm not surprised. I've had a tough couple of days. Work has been extra stressful and I've been turning to my old comfort foods to deal with it. Time to pull it together! Last evening, had a chat with Hubby and we decided that I'm not quite ready to come off the Medifast. The structure is incredibly important for me right now. Once I made the decision, it's like a weight was removed from my shoulders! I need to get a ton of work done today, so please forgive me for not doing personals. Hopefully, I can squeeze in Zumba tonight.

Have a great on-plan day.

'morning gang! Weighed in at 198.8, that's +1lb from yesterday, but I'm not worried. Was OP yesterday and I decided to angle the tv towards the elliptical last night, so that I could get in a workout while watching The Biggest Loser. How's that for motivation to keep going? Spent the first half of the show on the elliptical, and the second half with free weights. Man I felt good last night, and this morning I am sore! So I have no doubt the gain is from my muscles holding water. Oh and since I actually graced the office with my presence today, I also weighed in earlier than usual.

4: 244.6 :tantrum:

This is really starting to irk me. I went over my calories by about 400 yesterday, but I burned over 1200 calories exercising, 1600 just wasn't cutting it... I was hungry!! I'm not a believer in eating back exercise calories, but when I'm super hungry I will give myself some leeway. Maybe I'm exercising too much? I've only been at the gym thing for a week and a half, maybe I'm retaining huge amounts of water? My rings are really tight. I'm so frustrated that I've been faithfully going to the gym and what I have to show for it is a 4lb gain. :(:?: I exercised for 3 hours yesterday (1 hr racquetball + 2 hrs volleyball) and 3.5 hrs the day before (1.5 hrs cardio/weights + 2 hrs volleyball)... I think I'll take it a little easier today.

Ok, pity party over. I'm off to the gym to put on more weight. ;)

The on plan eating is def helping, I feel more lively. I am sure a lot of that is mentality with the moving on from the situation I'm in - I just feel better about everyting. More like me, randomly amused and happy and little silly things.

Vix - Check you out with your whooshes, dang!! Congrats to you! I need a few of those myself, I'm sure it'll come getting 'back together' with Bob this week . . he's still an evil evil man though :D

hello ladies! (where is our gentleman? and the lady that brought him? they've been away a while...)

today's visit with the little wii man saw me at 275.4. a new low, barely, but still a new low! down .4 from yesterday. i'm attempting the new WW plan, because i was having issues counting calories. here's the magic words: i've got an app on my phone! :) i love helpful apps on my phone.

i've noticed that my exercise lately doesn't feel like exercise. which makes me feel like i'm not doing enough. i get no cardio boost from the walk it out game anymore, barely winded after 30 mins of step and boxing. so i ordered leslie sansone's "walk away the pounds" dvds. 3 dvds with 5 different workouts (for 26 dollars!), i'm hoping a change up in the exercise helps me get past the scale stalling on me!

Angie I went to the Allergist and everything I was originally suspicious of was negative. I am not allergic to fish or seafood. I was/am thrilled about that. We live on the coast and I eat a lot of seafood/fish. I recently eliminated broccoli, spinach, asprin, & ibuprofen. I had a reaction this week, but it's not as bad as it was even a month ago. I ate at Jason's Deli. They put alfalfa sprouts on the wrap that I like. I am kinda suspicious of the sprouts. I seem to have a reaction every Monday. I eat at Jason's every Sunday. :dunno: It could be a coincidence, though. Alfalfa sprouts, asprin, etc are high in salicylates. The problem is that my reaction is not immediate, so it's hard to tell exactly what it is.

Coondocks -- Getting rid of all that stress has got to be making a positive impact on you. I've had a few situations like that and when I finally ended up removing the negative person, it was AMAZING how great I felt...almost instantly!

Mandy -- Good luck with WW. It's a great program, I just got tired of having to convert everything to points. For calorie counting I use http://caloriecount.about.com/. And the magic words....YES, the have an app! I can't do anything without an app these day! LOL

Bulletproof -- Yay on still seeing those decreasing numbers. Sometimes we just need a break from the status quo and I'm happy you're still able to meet your goals!

Angie -- YEA BABY! :carrot: You are SO FREAKING close to ONEderland!!!

Diana -- Wow...The Dr. told you go on maintenance? That is simply FANTASTIC! :bravo: All your hard work just paid off bigtime! I can't even imagine my doctor being satisfied with my health. What a dream come true!Must be a great feeling. Here's hoping that you get the allergy stuff figured out sooner rather than later...I can't imagine what havoc that must be playing on your system.

Diana - Well look at you!! Congrats in a MAJOR way!!

Angie - With a whoosh like that, you may very well see ONEderland for your trip, either way you've done so fantastic I hope you have a great, great time!!

Jamie - It almost was instant, the minute I admitted that ya know what, he is drama, he created this situation, its my fault for not standing my ground sooner but now that I have, WOW. Part of me is always going to love him, but I've at least reconized that the man I knew is no longer there. So, this is MY time to be the happy go lucky person I normally am and that's what is going to benefit me and Jack in the long run :)

I was up another 2.8 to 181.4 this morning . It's TOM plus sodium from TOM munchies. I am feeling better today though and I even went to the gym. We have our zumba/power hour teacher back now. Yay! TOM is still hanging around, but at least he's no longer immobilizing me. :carrot: If all goes well and we do get these 4 kiddos I am going to go to the doc to see if I can't get something done to stop this mess.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone.

Vixsin - Congrats on being overweight! :cp: I hope you enjoy the treadmill.

Coondocks - Congrats on having a little more free time in the morning. Just enjoy what you CAN get right now, soon he'll be too embarrassed to say he loves you in public, lol.

Angie - Exercise helps my cramps as long as the cramps are the normal kinda mild ones. The weight loss is starting to regulate my cycle, but it is also giving me 1-2 days each month when the cramps are so bad I barely make it out of bed. We are experimenting with pain meds to try to find one that will at least let me function even if I can't exercise. Wow what a whoosh! Congrats!

Mandy - Yes, the time when you are supposed to ovulate can still cause a little stall for some women who are on the pill. Happens to a friend of mine every single month. She will jump up almost exactly half a pound and stall at ovulation time then have a little whoosh about 3 days later. Congrats on the new low!

Diana - I am sorry you are still having allergy issues. I really hoped that the removal of broccoli would end your suffering. Congrats on the awesome doc visit! :woohoo:

Kukkie - I almost always exercise while I watch TBL. I feel funny watching it if I'm sittin on my butt.

Happy Wednesday (what's left of it). I'm off to get beds for my future youngins.

Rts good job on the 0.2 down :)

Jeri probably just water :)

Vixsin good job on the 1.2lbs gone :crossed: it sticks around and it a lower number tomorrow  We are supposed to go again tomorrow. Congrats on your run. I'm gonna leave about 30-40 minutes earlier tomorrow so I can get the speed in. If I don't sweat I feel like I've wasted my time. .... Coffee date? :)

LOL Jami I will take that 0.2 any day. I enjoyed my burger and my pizza too. :) but I also think it had something to do with my getting up at 3am and almost finishing a 20oz bottle of water. I was hot so I woke up (nothing new I'm always up in the middle of the night) checking on the kids. But last night I came downstairs, antsy I guess because I haven't done that for a good long time. But I was working night too maybe it's part of my adjusting stage ... sorry about the run on ...thinking/typing out loud :D

Coondocks this is so me ----> and not everything else that hops into the cart funny how that happens  So happy you're feeling better  I just looked at your ticker ... I've gotta catch up :D see what slacking off did!! I'm talking to myself ... we use to be close :) Great outlook for you and Jack

Mandy good job on your new low :) I love Leslie Sansone's DVD's they start off a little slow to me, that's the tease, then she walks you like crazy :)

Matilda good job on the 0.2 down and glad the stressful part has eased up :)

Bullet good job on the 1.8lbs gone with no cc and exercise, not bad at all :) think of how much better it'll be with cc and exercise :)

Thanks Angie ... wow 4.2lbs ... you go girl :high: I don't take the exercise into consideration. I haven't figured all of that out yet :?: ... and I obviously didn't do enough yesterday to matter :( ... but I did have a great day and I now that I know I'll do better outside I'll definitely make an effort to get out of here :D So far so good today. I went to Curves got there early which gave me more time on the circuit because after Zumba I'm ready for home. :) Angie I believe you can do it :crossed: Onderland here she comes

:woohoo: Diana journey well done ... I know you were grinning from ear to ear  Sorry about your illimation of spinach, you've been eating a handful of spinach for breakfast since I started with you.

Roxy glad you're feeling better ... have fun shopping for the children. I love decorating/changing things around. :)

Ok I'm gonna hit the treadmill early so I can shower before church just in case I copout when I get back. Talk to you all later :grouphug:

Great work everyone! Diana, so glad to hear everything's going along re: thyroid!

Hope everyone is doing well today - it's nice and sunny here!

4: 253.0 Ok, NOW I'm getting frustrated. I've been on a steady rise since Sunday and there's no reason for it. I'm sticking to my plan, I haven't deviated at all, TOM isn't here (yet), and I'm still GAINING. What the ****!? I'm starting to get uber discouraged. I can't go any lower in calories than I wan 1300-1400, and I can't go any higher b/c I'm sedentary for more than 8 hours a night thanks to work. I try to get in 20 minutes of exercise before work, but that doesn't always happen. So frustrated.. I'm doing everything right and I'm GAINING!

Love -- Good for you. My first marriage was a similar situation. Once I gave him the boot, I realized one day that I hadn't had to worry about anything for a while and started laughing. Used to be that I was always on edge, waiting for something bad to happen - because inevitably it always would. My ex was ADDICTED to chaos so it surrounded our lives 24-7. What a relief it was to have peace and quiet - as much as you can get with a one year old anyway. :D

No time for personals tonight, but I still wanted to say hi to everyone and check-in!

DH is leaving for training on the East Coast tonight, and he'll be gone for almost 2 months, so I'll be helping him pack everything and spending some time with him before he heads out. We went out to eat at Olive Garden tonight, so I halved everything to try to minimize any damage to my calorie count. We'll see how it goes in the morning. Also going to try not snacking out of boredom and/or loneliness over the next week or so before I fly out to California to visit with some family while he's gone.

Anyways, I've got to run! Oh, and before I forget...my weigh-in this morning was 229.6, so finally popped out of the 30s. Praying I stay under tomorrow, but it doesn't seem likely. Going to go to Zumba this weekend to burn off some of these extra calories and keep myself preoccupied!

Rainbow, try not to focus on the number -if you're following your plan its probably just our crazy female hormones causing an up. :dizzy: Hoping you have a whoosh coming!

Like thaisccs, I'm editing my original calendar :-)

I can't do pts of personals tonight cause I'm doing from my phone and its tricky -lol. Thanks all for the warm welcomes and have a good night!!

Ohhhh I'm so afraid for my whoosh...when I weighed in tonight I was back up at 217 -- I couldn't have gained 7lbs today right? Oh well, lots of water and crossing my fingers for a good night. Ack, just remembered I have to get up extra early tomorrow too! Darn it. I could get on the treadmill, but I'm just really bushed tonight.

Roxy -- Ouch, sorry about the gain today!

Rennie -- Thanks :) I think you're doing plenty of exercise, don't discredit yourself!

Ona -- Thank you! Woohoo on the dress! I love the clear straps for the bras, isn't that a great idea!? I need a new strapless bra too, but I'll wait a bit to make sure it will fit me once I've lost a bit more. Darnit, you're making me want to get back on the treadmill...maybe just 1-2km before bed. :D

Thaisccs -- Yep, that's how I do it too...I update the original post each day and then just post today's result along with my other thoughts and personals. :)

Jamisue -- You bet I'll be trying ot dream about another whoosh tonight...lol!

Ophelia -- Good job on getting into the 220's! Sorry to hear you'll be missing your DH for a couple of months :( We'll do our best to keep you busy here!

I'm going to try and catch up from today.. might take me days to fully catch up though ;)

Coondocks - dare I say summer is here? It's pretty sunny out right now! Glad to see you back, you sound in good spirits :D If you are bored on Saturday you should stop by the store, we are having an event! It might be good, or it might be REALLY bad, not too sure yet!

starbrite - you are right, 9 pounds is nothing compared to the 136 you've already lost!

Diana - I don't know how you are dealing with these allergies so well, I'd be going crazy!! Great news today! :carrot: Congrats!!

love2b - .2 is nothing :D Great whoosh the other day though!! :)

Ona - great job with maintenance! Did you find a dress?

ladynredd - Cancun sounds amazing!!

Rhonda - I would think it might be easier to know what you are doing day in and day out, for me it would bring comfort. Sounds like it's a good decision for you now, and I'm sure as more weight comes off you'll make the transition.

Kukkie - what a fabulous set up!! I started to watch Biggest Loser last night but got distracted by phone calls. And I love makeover week!! I'm sure the weight is just water weight, it'll be gone in no time :)

Gale - your body is probably adjusting to everything, how long has it been since you last were breast feeding?

Vixsin - what a great whoosh!! :) Have fun on your coffee date, we want details! :)

Jamisue- have you seriously lost over 6 pounds this month so far?? OMG! Nice job, forget the .2 today.

bulletproof - great wi today!

Angie - WOW, I've never seen such a huge whoosh before! I hope you don't get any jumps tomorrow, enjoy it today!! Next stop?? ONEDERLAND! I might need some diet tips from you after that whoosh, while I won't make it to onederland before my trip, but the 240's would be nice :)

Roxy - How's the weather thing going? Everything calming down? When might you get the kids? Thats very exciting news!!

Sorry if I missed anyone, I'm sure I did..

As for my WI? Down 1.8 this morning. I had an early dinner yesterday, and then slept WAY in this morning, so I'm sure it's from that. Kind of fun to see 255.7 this morning though!! Angie - I SO feel you on the fear of a jump tomorrow, I might avoid the scale..

Aimee -- Thanks! Yes, I'm motivated by that fear though, so I just did 2.5k on the treadmill -- I hope it works! I would so so so love to get to ONEderland soon and not take 2 months to lose the next two pounds :) I'm crossing one of everything I"ve got for you to get to the 240's for your trip!

I so appreciate the encouragement here today and it got me up off my butt and on the treadmill, so if I bounce tomorrow at least I'll know that I did all I could, on plan eating, on plan exercise -- I've done my part!

5: 214.4 (+4.6) *sigh*

Okay, I bounced, uhhh...I bounced back the whole thing and then some. Up 4.6 (what!?) to 214.4 -- maybe yesterday was really just a dream afterall! I'm struggling to remember if I forgot to take my water pill last night, but I'm fairly sure I did. I've never exercised so much, and I'm on plan for eating. The big drop down and the big gain again are both so strange (although it was easier to live with the big drop down!) My leg muscles are tight, but not painful, I do have a sinus infection but don't think that would have such a dramatic effect. I think I will try going back to no-carb for a few days to see if that gets things moving.

I'm posting my weigh ins for may along with my calories and exercise -- I show my net calories, so that's what's left after the exercise.

Angie You may be retaining water, especially if you feel tight. Are you taking meds for the sinus infection? I am still feeling swollen around my midsection. My panties even feel weird. I know I am holding on to some water from that reaction I had.

I am so exhauted this morning. First things first,

Diana congratulations to you! You've accomplished amazing things and are such an inspiration to us all. Will you stick around with the daily weighing while you're entering maintenance?

As for me, I'm down to 197.5 so the pound of I think water weight and a bit more. Yay. I was actually hoping for more, but realistically I was working until 11 pm last night and up early this morning for another conference call. BBL for personals.

No official weigh in until I find new batteries lol.
I borrowed my neighbours scale and it read 174. Granted I was fully dressed, had already eaten breakfast and had a full glass of water, but Hmmmmm, clearly I've but some back on. Will have to get that off. Ohhh, the high sodium snack last night . . . forgot about that :o

Aimee - what kind of event? Its funny that you mention that I was going to ask if you were working this weekend, was hoping to get out that way to see about new foundation . . . hmmmmm . . . . Congrats on the double 5's lady!! And yes, I dare say summer is here, our pool is scheduled to open may long . . . Bring on the Patios:carrot::carrot:

Kukkie - Yeah your excited!! Great weigh in for you today keep ipt going!!

Kristi - Check you out, calorie burning champ right there! I did the same thing last night, not pizza . . . . nachos :o

Angie - dont let the bump get to you, your exercising and staying on plan. If you're muscles are feeling tight and you have a sinus infection, I'm sure a lot of that bump is water. Keep at it, ro-sham-bowl those pounds :boxing:

Ona - I can't wait to see the dress, I'm positive you'll be stunning in it. And with the confidence you have . . . you will ROCK that event for sure!:cb:

Jami - Your stats for the month are awesome you are kicking May's butt!!:lifter:

Roxy - What an exciting time for you and DH. I can't tell you how amazing I think it is what you are both doing. I'm so excited for you both!!

Good Morning!

I am up .4 today to 194.4. After the whooshes, I'm fine with that kind of bounce. Coffee date after work today. :crossed: Please don't be psycho.. I think I may wait to have my Clif Bar until right before I leave work so that I won't feel the need to get something to munch on. I'd like to just get a green tea.

Planning on supper at Subway with my Maxwell tonight. Club on a flatbread, piled high with veggies here I come! Sidebar: I wish they had wheat flatbread. Also going to try for that Pilates tonight since I didn't do it yesterday. Got a great day of food packed with me so I am super confident in that.

Kukkie: Awesome weigh in!

Diana: I said it in the other forum that we check in at and I'll say the same thing here too: I just now noticed your new signature. For whatever reason, it really stuck with me today. When I first started, you were back over 200 and to see you in maintenance mode now is very cool to me. I have been reflecting on my own journey a lot over these few weeks since I had a stall on the scale. It's funny where you find your motivation around here. Just glad we're in it together, that's all.

I'm down 1.2 to 180.2. Thank goodness it's not another gain, yesterday I did my weight lifting class and zumba and I was OP with my food. A few more of those kind of days and maybe I can have all the TOM weight off and get to work on some real weight loss for the month. We also went yesterday and got kiddo beds. We got 2 twin sized beds with trundle beds under them that are made in a nice light colored wood (gender neutral). They are perfect since they will work for pretty much any kids they give us, including the 4 we are currently hoping for.

Aimee - The weather has been nice the last couple days. Yesterday the flood waters were even down enough to open the main highway. :woohoo: We are going to go turn in the last of the paperwork Monday (at least we hope it's the last of it). We have no idea how long it's going to take from there. It could be a couple weeks or it could be a few months or they could tell us no entirely. :crossed: I'm hoping for the first one, of course. 1.8! Wow! Ok, so we all need early dinners and sleep ins, got it. ;)

Angie - I'm sorry about the bounce back up. It could be the sinus infection.

Gale - :crossed:

Coondocks - Thank you. Hope with us that the county gives them to us. The little ones are in a good foster home right now, they are trying to teach them to eat veggies and everything. They need a forever place though. And I don't know anything about the home the 12 year old is in right now. You may have put some back on, but all those factors really could add up to about 10 pounds. Heck, even just a different scale has been known to do worse than that.

Happy Thursday everyone. Today is my hubby's Friday this week, yay!

good morning everyone! quick post just to check in before my weird shift at work today (11-8) so i'm weighing in earlier than usual (around 1-1:30 is when i usually weigh, today 10:30)... but it said i had a drop of 0.5, to 274.9... woo! 274! the scale does love to show me a .9 afterwards though. make me work to keep it i guess.

after fussing with both apps on my phone, i'm sticking with 'myfitnesspal' because it's just easier to use than the WW app, and i shouldn't have to spend more time on my diet than my life.

have a good day everyone!

I bounced WAY more than I thought I could, but my grandma bought chinese food for dinner last night. Not a great option, high in fat, high in sugar.. my body hates those things! UP 2.9 this morning. Yikes. I've packed good food for work today, so I'm sure it won't last long! Grocery shopping tomorrow, and back to counting calories, I've been a little lax the last week. Sometimes I just want to shake myself..

Angie - sorry to hear about your bounce too :( But you know the source, and once that water works its way out, you'll get back down :)

Ona - the dress sounds pretty great! Pictures please :D

Gale - Great loss this morning! Hopefully the losses are more consistent as your body adapts!

Coondocks - it's an event for Mother's Day, we have makeovers from a couple different vendors, mini manicures with 10 different shades of crackle nail polish, Soda Stream and Keurig are doing demo's, the photo counter is going to have a little table where kids can decorate frames for mother's day with a free 5x7 from the photo lab (for 5 bucks), and that's all I know of now. Originally the computer dept was going to do a game "Guess the Celebrity Mom" and we'd give out little prizes. They might back out though. I'm curious how things will go, worried too.

Roxy - glad the weather stuff is calming down so you can focus on the kid stuff! Hopefully it's sooner than later! 1.2 is pretty darn good! :)

 to everyone I've missed! I am off to work, and probably won't check in tomorrow since I'm working late tonight and early tomorrow!

Mandy: OMG!! I use MyfitnessPal too. And LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it!!!!!!!! I don't trust the calories much that they give for the exercises so I just add my own but for the food. WOW! BIG WOW!! I love the barcode scanner. I have gone nuts in my house and found that theres only 1 or 2 foods in my house that aren't in that database! YAY FOR THAT!!!!!

5:252.0 TOM finally appeared, sorta. Very light but we'll see how it goes. Hopefully when it's done I'll be out of the 250s; that sure would be nice especially since I've been so "good" and kept to my plan! Crappy day today, but I'll be hitting the treadmill at work on my lunch break like I did last night - watch some of the hockey game that way :carrot: Tonight will make 3 times this week exercising for 20 min. I'm proud ^_^

Hi everyone ,

Finally got the nerve to jump in and say hi. I was one of those people on the sidelines watching/lurking and cheering.

I am totally committed to losing the weight not because i have to but because I want to , Not because of someone else but because of me.Most of all because someone believed in me before i even thought i could come this far on the journey. He loved me for what was inside , he always tried to motivate me and get me started , ate all the dishes i made . He always tried for me even though i did not see it.
Sadly he is not among us anymore . But that does not chance the fact that I cannot do it.

Rainbow 1lb gone :yay: and you have a right to be Proud. I sure am when I hit that treadmill. I thought it would be easier having one here but I still have to make myself do it.

Mandy good job on the .5 down :)

Ona your dress sounds gorgeous and I am sure shopping for it was a complete joy  Take pictures in both dresses please :)

thaisscs that's what most of us do also update the original but post it daily at the end too if that makes sense :).

Jami I'm confused :?: or I missed something :D

Ophelia I love Olive Garden so glad we don't have them or Carrabas out here :D Good job on halving everything. Congrats on getting out of the 30's :crossed: that is sticks for you :)

 Diana  Hope you rest better tonight  and you will never be kicked out. I told you I look for you when I go MIA so you have to be here  tired of me hugging you yet :)

FT the phone is tricky to post on. I get to upgrade in June hopefully the next phone will be better, got a blackberry right now :)

Angie you think so!? It just seems so minimal compared to before. I couldn't even get some of the machines at Curves into the green today. It has lower my (something?? can't think of the word) because the last 4 times I used Curves Smart my numbers were low and I still can't do it. And on bras ... I hate them, maybe if they made them with more fabric in the back/sides I'd be better. I don't think they can invent one that fits right for me. DH squeezed that stuff hanging over the back the other morning. I wanted to smack him, hehehe :D I told him to leave my bra fat alone  Angie someone told me to take the batteries out of my scale and do a reset, it'a worth a try.

Thanks Aimee I'm so sick of the 170's :(. :woohoo: for you 1.8 gone :yay: (catching up) and the 2.9 is only temporary  ... I need to shake myself today too ... I did really well then opened the pantry and spotted frosted flakes .... whyyyyy!!! I'll say I ate 2.5 dry servings ... stupid me

Hi Rhonda

Vixsin I like what you said to Diana. Your day is full of excitement, :crossed: no psycho :)

Roxy 1.2lbs gone :yay:

Kiyoshima 1lb gone :yay: yes Go You on your run! :)

eclipse good job on the .2 down :)

Hi Matilda

Hi openup :welcome: Sorry for your loss, sounds like a wonderful person :)

As for me weigh-in this morning 176.4 down .6 but I have already messed up. I went to Curves did the circuit and Zumba. Couldn't get my Curves Smart to stay in the green on about 4 machines, sad! I felt good when I let however. Came home made me a smoothie because that's what I had a taste for then spotted the frosted flakes in the pantry and poo on me. I have eaten about 2.5 servings. :( I'm going walking with friends this evening so hopefully I can repair some of my damage

@Love2b - Rest day is relative. I have another commitment on Thursday mornings (only for another week, and then break until fall, yay!) so I can't go to the gym since the childcare is from 8:45-11:30 and my previous commitment is from 9:15-11:15. I will still go for a walk this afternoon, I just won't be hitting the gym. :) I fully expect a bounce back up tomorrow, but I'm hoping hoping hoping not to go above 240.

@vixsin - i'm loving this myfitnesspal thing too. it's making my calorie counting like a bajillion times easier. and if it's not in there with a barcode, it's in there with the search option. i haven't used it for exercise calories yet, because i told it "i'll be working out 3x a week @ 30 minutes" and it told me to lose 2lbs per week i would need approx 1770 calories per day. (i had set my range to 1600-1800 so good guess on my part!)... i tend to go lower cal on the days i don't exercise, and towards the higher end on the days i do. though i did get weird looks today at work when i scanned my bag of raisinets... :P

Diana -- Thanks, I hope it is the sinus meds, I'm just taking over the counter tylenol sinus. I did pee a lot today so hopefully it's whooshing away.

Kristi -- Sorry about the gain, but pizza, mmmmm.. :) I'm drinking a lot today and I feel like it might be helping. I hope it's the infection, thanks for telling me that could be it...I've been so good lately it seems crazy to have gained all that at once.

Kukkie -- Congratulations on your pound!

Ona -- Thank you :) I did wonder about the battery, I probably should have verified the low weight yesterday, but I just about floated off the scale when I saw that number! Today though I did step on more than once and got a consistent reading. I'm going to keep fighting, this has got to be a weird fluctuation, and eventually it will pass. I think the investment in your foundation garments was a good choice, it will just make your dress look that much more fantastic!

Gale -- Holy whoosh! I'm glad you verified it..lol. Thank you, I'm going to keep making good choices and hope for a good change on the scale soon.

Coondocks -- Thanks! Don't you hate when the scale needs a new battery? I find it annoying because it's not just a regular old AA type, it's the little round type and I always guess wrong when I go to pick one up! Are you doing any incline walks lately?

Rhonda

Vixsin -- Good luck with your coffee date, and with your dinner date with Maxwell :)

Roxy -- Oh my gosh, I thought you were hoping for a family of 2 children, I didn't realize that there were four! I hope that dream comes true for you, I can just imagine the amazing holiday season you'd have this year.

Mandy -- Good job on the .5!

Kiyoshima -- Good job on the run and on your -1 today!

Jeri -- Congrats on your .2

Aimee -- Sorry about your bounce too...:(

Matilda -- Great job on the 2hr workout yesterday! You'll see the payoff soon!

Rainbowgirl -- Congratulations on your -1lb...good for you for fulfilling your exercise goals!

Rennie -- Have you ever considered getting a custom made bra? I'm going to do it when I get to goal, or closer to goal. Everyone I know that has done it raves about how great they are. Congrats on your .6 today!

Yikes, I've been a work meeting ALL day and it seems like I missed a week in this thread! So, teeter tottering at 276. I'm feeling very happy what I'm doing though. I'm OP for food, water and almost for exercise. Realized yesterday that I can burn the same amount of calories in half the time if I swim (or double in the same time)! Stoked about that! SO looking forward to my "official" WI tomorrow so I can finally adjust my ticker.

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 pounds (Ready to kick butt in May!)

April 30: 282.6
1: 280.0 (-2.6)
2: 278.9 (-1.1)
3: 276.0 (-2.9)
4: 276.2 (+0.2)
5: 276.0 (-0.2) TOTAL LOST -6.6

Ophelia -- So sorry to hear the DH will be away for so long. I always enjoy some alone time myself, but that's quite a bit. Happy to hear that you'll get the chance to visit with family though. FUN!

Aimee -- Summer has definitely hit CA. It's 90 today! Whew. Thanks for the support. I'm super happy with the numbers this week but even happier about how many OP days I'm having! Yay to you for being down 1.8!! Woot woot! Don't fret that 2.9. You'll find your stride again soon and it'll be HISTORY!

Blinkworks -- I'm sorry but that's just too funny about your scale. He can tell (not sure why the scale has to be a boy) that you're serious and he knows he's gonna need some serious juice to keep up with you! ;)

Reptogirl -- Down .4! That's a little better than "well". :)

Angie -- So sorry to hear that your whoosh ended up being a dream. (pun intended). I know that 4.6 is going to take it's leave again VERY soon...at least it will if it knows what's good for it! But I think Diana's right, definitely sounds like water retention.

CeeJay -- Welcome back! No shame in needing a fresh start every now and again! Guess you had your own little "come to Jesus" meeting, huh?

Kukkie -- Congratulations on officially being in ONEderland! I know you were bobbling right around 200 for a bit...you must feel so happy!!!

Gale -- HOLY SMOKES! I'm scurred! CONGRATULATIONS ON THAT MONSTEROUS WHOOSH!

Coondocks -- (I accidentally posted this to Love yesterday. Oops!) Good for you.

Rhonda -- Hope you had a great day...even with the craziness! Thanks for the positive vibes this morning!

Vixsin -- Good luck tonight! Both on your date and to stay OP!

FitGirly -- Congrats on getting that loss! You EARNED it!!!

Mandy -- I'm interested in trying 'myfitnesspal'. I've really been liking CalorieCounter but I have to enter most food manually because the database is built by users. (Sorry CalorieCount users but I just don't trust you!) ;) Quick question: Does it just track calories on food or all the other nutrients too (fat, protein, iron, calcium, etc)?

Kiyoshima -- Yay! Down 1lbs whoo hoo!

Jeri -- Yay. Down .2!!

Matilda -- Wow, with all that working out...maybe just make sure you're eating enough calories and drinking enough water.

RainbowGirl -- Yahoo on TOM finally coming. Now he can get to leaving! :) Congrats on the exercise routine. Moving more is a big part of the battle!

Openup -- :welcome3: I'm so sorry to hear about your loss and SO HAPPY that you've found your voice. I really hope (and believe) that you find the support you're looking for here!

Love -- Yikes. No wonder you're confused. I meant to post that to Coondocks. Congrats on the loss this morning!

Gale with my eating this evening I expect a gain tomorrow also. Hate it but I know I did it, I need to face my boo boo's. Maybe by the fall I'll get out of the 170-180 range. I thought you meant no exercise, when I hear rest I think rest :)

Mandy :D on the look from your co-worker :)

Thanks Angie I saw one of those places that make them by my church but they didn't last there long. I guess when I finally get to a weight that I can maintain I'll look into it more. I probably won't need a bra then, just a descent fitting camisole :)

LOL thanks Jami :)

I think I look pretty good just looking in the mirror then someone will take a picture and I feel awful. You'll look beautiful in your dress, just stunning :) Ona I can pass this gift of always talking on to you ... drives my husband crazy sometimes :)

Diana yes I did and it felt so good :) Don't think it helped much though :(

today's update

weigh-in today was 176.4 down .6 from yesterday :crossed: for only a small gain tomorrow
calories 1888 over by 288
water 80ozs and 16ozs green tea
exercise Zumba/Curves circuit 1hr and 2.8 mile walk at the track 3.44mph, 49.57 minutes (great trainer says I burned 215 cal. on my walk)

fat secret says I burned a total of 773 calories Angie how does that work?

Good night :grouphug:

Angie
05-05-2011, 10:14 PM
Rennie -- Your net calories are the total you ate, minus the total you burned, so your net for today would be 1115 (1888-773). So for me, without exercise I should eat 1390-ish calories per day to lose 2lbs per week, but if I also exercise then my net calories are lower than what I actually consumed....so let's say I burned 500 calories per day and still ate 1390, I could likely expect to lose 3lbs per week rather than 2. I hope that's what you were asking about...lol :D

Good Morning. or just morning anyway... I was up working until about 1:30 and really only because I crashed. Back at it early this morning too, so Angie I can only wish I were still sleeping. I made the mistake of checking the scale just to see  stupid me. 199.9 *insert extra long sigh here* Combination of no sleep and late night pizza, I know I know, bad idea, but working that late, absolutely starved. I'm down another pound to 179.2. My food yesterday was POP and I walked a little over 3 miles, spent about 3 1/2 hours sorting/hanging/toting clothes at the base airmen's attic (a place where people donate things and those who need and are low enough rank to be allowed can come get them for free), and did an hour of zumba. 4 more pounds to go to get to my low, but at least I'm back in the 170s now. I'm off to do my weight lifting class, zumba, and some more volunteering at the airmen's attic today.

Aimee - I think we all need a good shaking from time to time.

openup-Welcome I am sorry for your loss, but am also glad that you got to experience having such a wonderful person in your life.

love2b - Silly Frosted Flakes! At least you caught yourself before it was the whole box.

I just stood there on the scale and stared at the number with disbelief. This journey keeps me in a constant state of awe sometimes. Today sure is one of those days. :)

So the coffee date last night was real nice. I don't think he's psycho. He seemed to be real nice. There is another boy I am talking to who lives a little farther away and we are trying to work out meeting one another so that is a nice thing too.

BBL for personals.

Hi Friends! Stayed the same today. I think I'm in some kind of mini-plateau. At least, I hope it stays mini! Work has been so hectic. I'm struggling to keep up! I will get personal with you guys this weekend. ;)

Have a great on-plan day.

Still no weigh in . . . I think I might avoid the actual weigh in until I've had a week or more with the daily exercise and better eatnig under my now tight belt. My victorious size 10 jeans are feeling a little snug today and as much as I'd love to use the excuse TOM is due . . I know it's not all that. Picking up and moving on!!

Vix - I think you should change your name to Whoosh! Gald to hear the coffee date was not a loon :) Keep your options open, you're a prize and there's nothing wrong with keeping doors open :cb:

Angie - I got out of the walking habit for too long, with everything else I was dealing with sleep was something I was lacking and took every chance I could get to catch up. Im back on track with it and getting one in tonight for sure :)

Jami - I swear reading your comment I was wondering if you were a fly on the wall with my relationship!! I do feel unbelievably better and you're completely right about not worrying . . . I just don't anymore. It's fantastic :) :)

Aimee - Holy Crap that sounds like an event and a half! I'm def going to try and make it down there, I still havent picked up a mothers day gift for my mom :o I feel horrible for leaving it to the last minute, but she had toddlers once too, I know she'll understand :) Throwing it out there . . . me and a few friends do patio drinks at the forks pretty regulalry, you're always welcome to joing in . . . we are a little rowdy - but in a good way :)

Kukkie - Here's hoping you get some good rest, I'm starting to see the value in it more and more lately. The soak in the tub is a perfect idea I think.

Ona - Ohh that evil evil sodium!! You're still a butt kicker! I think you may surprise yourself with your confidence and I dare say you're probably no longer as shy as you think ;)

Konfyoozed - Great numbers for the week!! How much longer till you're a blushing bride?

Star - Ahhhh you're so so close and another .8 down . . Fantastic! Very excited for you :D :D

Diana - Why am I not in the least bit surprised your Dr tells you to maintain and that's quite literally what you've done with no change. You really are awesome!!

Love - cereal can be the devil, so delicious and deceptively bad for you once you check the labels on some of them. Good for you that you stopped when you did . . . awesome job!!

Roxy - Wonderwoman over here!! What a busy schedule you've got, wow . . . but looking at it, who better can take care of 4 kids then someone who enjoys being active! Congrats on getting back into the 70's:D

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 pounds (Ready to kick butt in May!)
(official WI)

April 30: 282.6
1: 280.0 (-2.6)
2: 278.9 (-1.1)
3: 276.0 (-2.9)
4: 276.2 (+0.2)
5: 276.0 (-0.2)
6: 274.0 (-2.0) TOTAL LOST -8.6

YAHOO!!! So FREAKING happy right now! I'm OP for food, water and still just almost OP with exercise. Taking my boys to dinner and movie tonight. Then going to hang with my parents at their campsite all day Saturday...might even stay long enough to roast a few marshmallows! :T

Ona -- Thanks so much! I do much better when I'm busy too...because I'm a serious boredom eater. Idle hands....and all that.

Mandy -- Thanks for sharing about myfitnesspal. I'm anxious to check it out! the barcode feature sounds AMAZING!! I've already signed up online and downloaded the app! :D Woo hoo on the loss again today!

Rennie -- There are a lot of explanations online about what a calorie deficit is and how much yours should be. I found this one that breaks it down in laymans terms. http://caloriecount.about.com/calorie-deficit-weight-loss-ft51764. I am just now starting to understand all this myself and maybe you understand it better than me. BUT, you're definitely burning more than 773 per day...you have to include the calories you burn just by being alive too (for breathing, sleeping digesting, etc).

Vixsin -- YAY for whoosh week! We all need those every now and then to keep us going, dont we? So glad to hear coffee date guy was not psycho! Hope you get to meet farther away guy soon. Options are a GOOD thing... ;)

Diana -- Looks like your maintenance is going well so far! YAY!!!

Kiyoshima -- Come on girl! You can do it!!!

Kukkie -- Take care of yourself! Working so much and not getting enough sleep will definitely wreak havoc on your plan. Wine and a hot bath is just what the Dr. ordered!

FirGirly -- Such a busy girl you are! Keep up the great work!

Coondocks -- Definitely hold off on the weigh-in if that's what feels right. Getting settled into a good exercise routine is hard enough without risking "not as good as you'd hoped" scale numbers. Just relish in the success of the MOVING you're doing for now...if that feel right for you anyway.

6: 251.0 :carrot: TOM is still here but weight is going down again. I feel lighter too, and I swear I look it but I don't think that's possible after only 11 pounds. Regardless, am happy the scale is going in the other direction now! Thanks for everyone's encouragement, and yes, I hope TOM takes a lot of weight with it when it leaves!:D

Roxy -- You are one busy lady these days! I hope you do get the kids you are hoping for; it will be a lot of work, but wow, the rewards of having a big family like that -- that sounds awesome! What in incredible gift to give to them too. :)

Mandy -- Good job on your .4! I think you can pull off another 4.6 by the wedding -- I'm crossing fingers for you :)

Gale -- Congrats on the small bounce today!

Ona -- I think you're doing great considering the crazy week you're having! I can't wait to hear about the party, I hope you won't be too tired to fill us in on Sunday :)

Vixsin -- Congratulations on the weigh in and on the successful coffee date last night. You said he's not psycho, but you don't sound swept off your feet either; I hope the other one takes your breath away!

Coondocks -- Great, I'll get a walk in tonight too! I like the idea that you're out there doing it too :) it will keep me motivated to stay on a little longer.

Okay, I had a shorter day today at work, so I'm home now...figured I would get on here and catch up a little bit, lol.

Love2b - Yeah, the Olive Garden here in town can be hit or miss, but it was definitely a hit that night...so yummy! I was surprisingly stuffed with what I allowed myself, but it was still so hard not to force it all because of the taste...that used to be a very bad habit of mine back in the day, lol. I didn't end up hitting any terrible snags on the scale after, so I'm happy I managed.

JamiSue - I know what you mean! You leave this thread for a day or even two, and it feels like you have so much to catch up on and don't know where to begin, haha. Also, yeah, seeing my family is going to help out a ton. I haven't seen any of my family or friends back home in almost a year, so I'm very excited!

FitGirly - Congrats on hitting the 170s again!

Gale - Holy woosh! Even with that bounce, I'd take it! That's amazing.

Vixsin - You too, that's great! I will be keeping my fingers crossed that the crazy woosh fairy comes by my place in the morning, too!

Rainbowgirl - You're doing great for also having TOM!

Mandy - I've been away from 3FC's daily happenings for awhile now, so I didn't know you were a bride-to-be...congrats! Only 15 days, how exciting! :)

Hit Goal Weight Ladies, Sure as normal I'll bounce around for a while, not sure when I'll stop losing or when maintenance will start but maybe another 5-10lbs and I'm so done and onto building lean muscle mass and keeping this weight off for life. I'll make a bigger post in the days to come but here is a pic from yesterdays photo shoot!

p.s. Thanks for al the support and this place has held me accountable since December, keeping the last few lbs to lose in my eye sight. I value that ♥

I'm down .2 to 179. I was hoping for more because I'm still holding some TOM weight, but I know that yesterday my sodium was a little high and my water intake was not as spread out as it should be, more than half of my water was after 5. I took my measurements last night and I have lost 4.625 inches since April 3, I LOVE weight lifting. Since he was off work yesterday, hubby went with me to the gym and to volunteer at airmen's attic. It was fun having him with me. The air force fitness program is now requiring that he track his intake. I'm glad because I don't think he had any idea about some of the things he eats, like how much sodium. I tell him and he listens, but I don't think he really got it until he saw it in black and white on the fitday screen. So now he is trying to watch his sodium and is trying to aim for the 60/20/20 macronutrient ratio. I'm so glad to see him start paying attention to his food. :carrot:

Coondocks - Now that things are calming down in your world I'm sure your jeans will not be snug for long. The kids are a big part of why I am so active. Some of the things are things I want to do while I am still able since I won't have so much free time once I have kiddos. My main motivation for getting fit is to give my kids a healthy mom who will be a good role model for them and still be around to see their kids.

JamiSue - You are rockin this month! Keep up the good work.

Angie - Thank you. Yes, it will be a lot of work, but I'm from a large family, so it's what I'm used to. I have 4 brothers and my parents took custody of another one because he's uncle was beating him. There are still some foods that I have no idea how to cook just enough for hubby and me because I learned how to cook from a mother who was used to cooking for lots of kids and their friends.

Twinmomma - Congrats! :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

Good morning, Friends!

Coondocks - You're back on track and those size 10 jeans will fill extra comfortable soon, I'm sure.
JamiSue - How was dinner and the movies? Hope you enjoy your time with your parents.
Matilda - Sending a butt kick your way! :kickbutt: While I'm at it, I'll give myself one, too!
Diana - Congratulations on reaching goal!!! You are an amazing inspiration to us. Thanks for hanging out here and sharing your journey.
Mandy - Why are you up so early today?
TwinMomma - Congratulations on reaching goal!! You look amazing and so happy.
Roxy - Glad to hear that your husband is watching his nutrition now. Sometimes, I get so caught up on the weight loss and forget that the nutrition and health aspect is even more important.
Mandy - Strawberries! How cool is that!

Today, the scale are up.6. I'm not surprised as I've been really struggling this week. This is what always happens to me. I get some weight off in the first couple of months, then the honeymoon is over. The unwanted emotions come back out to play and I turn to the food to help me deal. But, not this time. I've lost almost 25 pounds. I'm not turning back now. I need this for myself!

Have a great on-plan day.

No shocker here, although a little bummed to see 240-something again. I lifted yesterday and my sodium was also over 4000mg for the day. I LOVE ham, but don't love what it does to the scale. I think that with my gym routine I'm going to see up up up during the week and then a dramatic loss on rest day. We'll see. Whatever happens with the scale I'm going to keep at it, I feel really great when I work out. I've had a daily average of 1700 calories eaten and 550 calories burned with exercise.

Twinmommaplus - Congratulations!!

Mandy - I love fresh strawberries, I'll bet you can't wait til they're ripe enough to pick!

Thank you for the welcomes!:D I will try and keep up , there are so many posts and so much information it is almost information overload.

Does anyone have input about Stevia? I am wary of artificial sweeteners , some break down into formaldehyde and others are made of known toxins.
I know I may seems like I am going overboard with this , but recently I was diagnosed or i should say Misdiagnosed with lactose intolerance because of a artificial sweetner. I know that sounds crazy but not as crazy as going in to have surgery to have my gallbladder removed which was not necessary...Looking for a new doctor now , although it is hard to say goodbye to a family doctor that takes care of so many members in my family , but someone who misdiagnoses twice , type 2 diabetes which developed after having gestational diabetes and the doctor just said i was gaining weight and had high blood pressure and diagnosed depression.
But I am proud to be among so many determined , confident , strong women who are losing weight.

@Gale - you're right. i keep talking to the plant telling it to hurry up! i want my strawberries! hopefully the rabbit repellent keeps working... bunnies got all my strawberries last year!

@Rhonda - up early today because i had to work 6-3, so I'm not sure how accurate my weigh in is. i would have gotten my weight when i was home at 10am for my meal break, but i had already drank a ton of water, so i knew that would be wrong. i'll be back to my 'normal' schedule on monday.

@openup - this is a lively bunch, and for the last month and a half that i've been here, they've been very friendly and supportive. definitely excellent motivation!

@jamisue - have fun today! and good job avoiding the popcorn trap... i love me some popcorn!

@roxy - proof on the screen is the way to get men to pay attention? awesome. i'll have to remember that. mine says "okay" and keeps crunching away with no idea what i actually said about his food. i think he's annoyed by how much i pay attention now haha.

@ophelia - i am one of those annoying brides-to-be that brings up her wedding in EVERY SINGLE conversation haha. but since i'm not bridezilla, i allow myself the luxury of telling everyone who cares (read: who will listen) :D i've tried to be a little less obnoxious on the boards here, but i still probably bring it up WAY too often for some people haha.

CONGRATS! to everyone who saw the scales go down today!

and extra special congrats to TWINMOM for hitting goal! that's awesome! :)

THANK YOU all so much for the positive feedback! Its making all the difference and I'm eternally grateful!

Mandy -- Wow! So close to such a huge milestone! Simply amazing! Are you looking at the BMI table to figure that out? So is it over 40 that's morbid and then over 30 that's just obese? Congrats on another .5 down this morning! BTW, I could use some guidance on the myfitnesspal app. I'm not seeing the barcode scanner feature. Just curious if you have the app for Android or iPhone? You can definitely pull off another 4.6 in 2 weeks!! Mmmm...strawberries!!

Ophelia -- Glad to hear that you had a short work day yesterday. It's really nice to get those every now and then. It's really nice that you'll get to spend that time with your family. It'll make the time with your hubby away a bit easier.

Reptogirl -- yay! One more pound bites the dust!

Blink -- you're doing great! Way to focus on the positive!

Gale -- Way to stay focused! You're doing great things!!

@jami - i have it for the android phone, and to find the bar code feature try "add to diary -> select meal -> search for food" ... it's the button that looks like a bar code next to the search bar. you have to install a bar code scanner app to use it (which is also free)

Star Congrats on your 1.3 pounds!

Mandy Congrats on the .5. Sorry about the 5:30 AM. :faint: :tired: I've never grown strawberries. They look great! Right now I have a couple different types of tomatoes and peppers.

Twinmommaplusone Again, congrats on getting to goal! :carrot:

Fitgirlygirl Congrats on your .2 and all those inches!

Ona Great job on the .4.

Rhonda Thank you. Find that focus. You can get through this tough time. You can do it.

Blinkworks Great job on that pound and 10 pounds since joining! :carrot:

Eclipse Congrats on the .4!

JamiSue Great job on the 1.3 pounds!

Gale Hang in there. I love smoked pork chops. Every time I eat them I have a slight gain.

Openup I use stevia on occasion. I don't know about long term use, though. I think every brand has different ingredients, too. I heard that a popular brand has MSG in it. But I don't know.

Opheliaphoenix Hi!

Mandy I didn't know that! How long do you have strawberries and does that one plant produce a lot?

last year was my first year with them, and honestly i didn't get very many. i actually got none! i saw a couple, but the rabbits got them haha. this year will be my first year with that one plant producing and i put some rabbit repellent stuff down to hopefully keep them away. you can see how many are on there right now. that is 2 plants in a very shallow pot. i would assume a few in a raised bed with more room for roots (and more care, as i didn't really do much with mine over the winter, assuming they were dead) would produce enough to make several jars of jam + fresh strawberries for other desserts :)

Well, I thought I posted this morning, but I guess I forgot to save it! Anyway, I was down .6 today to 211.2 -- not sure how things will look tomorrow. I'm a bit over my calories for today, but spent the day shopping and walking around. I guess we'll see in the morning.

Today my stepmom took me shopping, compliments of her and my Dad -- this was my IOU at Christmas -- they promised me a shopping trip when I was ready. I decided it was time and I'm now nicely outfitted for the summer months. I chose a lot of things that can be easily altered or tailored as I lose more weight (ie/ skirts)

Twinmomma -- CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm blown away by how you just quietly got there and then announced it...lol. I guess we should have seen it coming! You've done an amazing job and I hope you are really proud of yourself  PS - You look fantastic!

Roxy -- I always cook for an army too :) Congrats on the inches lost!

Ona -- I hope the party was/is fabulous and that you are enjoying yourself! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Rhonda -- Stay with us, don't stop now. You are totally rocking this, you've lost 25lbs already and that's just the tip of the iceberg of what you are capable of doing! :) :dust::lifter:

Blinkworks -- Congratulations on your first 10lbs!

Jeri -- Good job on your .4

Jamisue -- Congratulations on your 1.3 today and on your amazing feats of self restraint at the movies. :)

Gale  Ophelia

Mandy -- Good looking strawberries! congrats on your loss today :)

Wow, so I knew alcohol is a no-no when trying to lose weight, but I didn't realize just how many empty calories were lurking in so little! I took it easy on the food calories today, because I knew I was going to be having a drink or two tonight, but I guess I underestimated the damage. Two rather weak drinks, even when mixed with Sprite Zero (0 cals), still ended up being 356 calories!

Needless to say, I'm a little over on my calories today...lesson learned!

Happy Mothersday to all the Mums out there. My little beauties bought me two recliners for the garden. I love the sun and they know how much I like to enjoy it- bless :)
Up 0.8 - annoyed because this always happens when I'm about to break a decade. I get so close then play bouncy for a few days or weeks. Ho hum! Having a big BBQ today so I guess I'll be up again tomorrow. Must fight on :sumo:
