inquiring minds need to know!
We have no plans, and actually I was hoping to sleep through the whole shabang, but the big kid has other plans.....sooooooo....I'll put them in their pj's and sleeping bags and serve some snacks.
What are your plans.....surely they are more exciting than mine!!!!!
Happy New Year!
Blessings in 2003!

We are staying home tonight!!
Just came home from dinner, daughter treated hubby and I to dinner. Her idea!!!
My kids are scattering to the winds. Both boys are going out with friends, makes me nervous, but what can you do when they are 20 and 22. Daughter is spending the night with a friend, I know she will be in, the parents are friends of ours and will not let them go out.
I doubt that I will make it to midnight, the way I figure, the new year will be there tomorrow :D
So ya see peachie, my plans are no more exciting than yours.
Happy New Year!!

Well. we are going out to a really classy dinner party but I'd rather stay home! I guess I'm getting old. However, I'm about to do the bath and make-up thing and gussy up. Harry wants to go to the party (!) and, much as I hate to say it, this could be his last NY's Eve.
Whatever you do tonight, have fun!

Trying to get on this thread to let you all know I am off to bed as I must go to work tomorrow. The weather is snow, freezing rain, then changing to rain after midnight, the salt trucks just went through so roads shouldn't be so bad. Well Happy New Year to all,
]Really like the newlook we have]

Happy New Year, everybody!
Robin, my night sounds most like yours. Kung Pow for all of us, and Unfaithful for after Cody goes to bed. HubbaHubba!
Taz, glad you like the new look. Some people aren't too happy with it, but hopefully it will grow on them. I used to hate lime, but now I love it. It is a fresh color, and that is how we need to feel, fresh and new, like the New Year!
Ruth! Is Harry in bad health? I have heard you mention arthritis before, but nothing else. I'm sorry. :( I hope you both have a wonderful Eve and that 2003 is happy and healthy for you both!

Peter and I will have our usual race to see who falls asleep first in front of the t.v. I'm hoping that my Canucks/Leafs game will be broadcast on satellite because the dumb cable company isn't airing it. How dumb can they be? I have some doubts though because our satellite comes from the US and these are two Canadian teams which is not high on the satellite company's priority list.
I went out today and found a couple of bras that actually FIT me and feel comfortable. First time I've ever worn a C cup but it's only because of the style. The first six I tried on were B cups and they were partly empty. :o WHat a thrill to put on a C cup and have it fit perfectly! I know, I know...a lot of you have large bosoms that you wish you didn't have but most of my bulk is around my tummy and backside so I've always wished to have a bit more on top. The salesperson told me she had had an apronectomy a while ago. She still looked pretty heavy to me but she said the only way the insurance would cover it was if it was just a basic cutting off of the hanging down flab which was aggravating her back. Well, I have the same problem and now it's got me thinking if I should have it done or wait until I've lost some more weight and THEN get it done. I mean who wants to have it done twice or even more often? Then again, I really hate that flapping apron of flesh and fat. SHe says they cut off 17 pounds.

WOW! 17 pounds! They cut 5 from me and he said it was one of the biggest he had done. I had mine with still 50 pounds to lose, and I don't regret it. I may have some flab when I lose all my weight, but I don't think there will be enough for another apron.

Home at last - and I like the new look of the site.
Elegant dinner that went on and on - we were still on the salad course when it was midnight! Champagne, oysters, roast goose, red cabbage, Jerusalem artichokes, chutney, green beans, wine, potatoes, mesclun and tarragon salad, wine, jellied gin or jellied port or blanc mange, wine, Stilton, port, coffee, liqueurs and everybody was dressed up. the company was good and not pretentious and Harry was pretty damned perky for his age.
When we got home, he asked if I wanted a nightcap! Oh dear!
Good night all and Happy 2003.

WOW!!! i should have checked in last night, but i fell asleep...
mom and i went out about 5:30 to visit her friend in the hospital, and then we went to dinner at a local mexican place, the one that serves HUGE platters of food that lasts me for 5-6 meals!
and then home. mom went to bed around 10:30, and i fell asleep in front of the TV at 11 [or so] and came to around 1...
so, yet another exciting new year's eve around here!!!
ruthie... i need to move up there.. you folks really know how to live!

Well, I didn't say I ate all that! As designated driver, I try to stay cool. Bob offers non-alcoholic bubbly too. Anyhow, it was a wonderful, elegant evening and I just flirted a wee bit - with a defrocked priest. Is that dangerous?
I wish I could have filmed the house and the dinner tables (34 guests).

First time in years I've actually made it, but there were not fireworks and funny hats around here. But I did break out a bottle of champaign that had been in the closet for about a year. Does it say something about my lifestyle to be sitting playing computer games drinking champaign out of a crystal flute??

says that you're a classy lady!!!! better a crystal flute than the bottle!!!!
AND RUTH flirting is healthy. and as for the defrocked priest, well, depends on the reason for the defrocking. ;)

Well, messing around with another woman was the real reason but the guy just wasn't into the whole clerical bit!

Brian (DH) and I stayed in last night as we usually do. He is a wonderful cook and grilled us up some fillet mignon and we ate the batter-fried shrimp that we had leftover from Chirstmas dinner. Ate LOTS of chocolate! Watched TV saw the ball drop in Times Square, went to bed. Slept in the morning and now DH is frying up some bacon! First day on Low Carbs, here we come!
I wish peace and love to all in 2003!

I stayed home..watched the Sex and The City Marathon, and went to bed around 1:30. It was a fun night. In my town, its really not safe to be out and around at night, let alone on New Years Eve, so I always stay in. I like it that way. Ive never been a big partier, and it was nice to have some "me" time:)

HAPPY NEW YEAR! *
We had a great New Year.
Last year we began a family tradition of renting rooms at a local hotel. We set up pot luck and order pizza around the pool area. The pool area is full of families with kids and everyone is having a great time. The kids have loads of fun and swim. We toast the New Year with the boys and our friends around us.
The next morning we get up to a buffet breakfast and more swimming for the kids.
