Default OT..stress issues

I want to keep this short for everyone; basically I have a lot of stress on my shoulders right now. Wedding in 5 months, moving to a new city, fiance has already moved and has a new job, I haven't found a job yet, I am commuting up there every weekend (he has our dogs so he can't come back here), we have to renovate the house, I am still at my job and it is stressful as is etc.... Since last Friday I have been throwing up (not intentionally by any means). I thought I had the stomach flu, but I would just get really sick then throw up. This has been going on since. I went to the doctor yesterday and she said it is just stress; every other test came back perfect. I don't know what to do. Her advice was to just stop being stressed. I don't feel stressed, but it's starting to be after every meal I throw up. The only thing she could do was to tell me to drink Gatorade. I feel so weak, tired, and confused at how to get over this.

Has anyone else experienced this...if so, how did you get over it. It seems to get worse now with every little thing. I am so lost. Any help is greatly appreciated

What is the diet you are following? To me it sounds like gallbladder issues- specially if you are doing low carb/high fat and aren't feeling overly stressed.

I understand completely. When under stress I am nauseated and have bowel problems (I.e. Diarrhea), or vomiting. If it persists tho I would go back to the doctor. Mine usually just lasts hours to a day.

I am calorie counting, but I had my gallbladder taken out in 2008

I'm a nurse who works lots of night shifts.... and I found myself vomiting a lot half way through a shift because of stress/sleep deprived.

In school they taught us the importance of not getting "burnt-out". To de-stress. Anything from having a bubble bath, reading a book, spending time with friends/family, pedicures, etc. Whatever you find thats relaxing! Maybe try having a nice candle-light bubble bath (or whatever is on your de-stress list) and make sure you don't think about any of the stressers you mentioned above.

I've never had that problem before, but I do get pretty intense stress headaches. I read a trick in a book once, and it's helped me. When you're feeling pressured, or maybe right before you go to sleep (or for you, maybe right before you eat), tense up every muscle in your body as tight as you can, and then slowly completely relax them, focusing on specific muscles and gradually progressing through your body. I'm not sure how it works, if it's the actual physical tense and release of your muscles, or if it's simply from focusing on the one thing, but it helps me.

What test did she do? Did she think about referring you to a specialist? The fact that YOU aren't feeling stressed makes me think it's NOT stress related.

If you don't push a doctor they won't do more than basic stuff- all that vomiting is NOT normal. When my husband was severely ill the doctor kept dismissing it and I kept pushing till finally I got a referall to a neurologist (forced referall) and turned out he has MS. Obviously that is not your case but what if you have something going wrong with your stomach?

If you aren't feeling stressed and you are getting enough sleep I'd tell her flat out it's not stress and you want to see a specialist. What if you have celiac's disease or an intestinal blockage or something causing this? Also since you had your gall bladder removed maybe you are having complications now due to that? I'd just continue to push that you are not stressed out so it must be something else.

Just because you DON'T feel stressed doesn't mean you aren't. Try Yoga to keep yourself calm and relaxed (trust me as much as yoga is boring it actually works) Maybe do some other things as well like read a book, or meditate or something.

Beerab - she drew blood and tested blood sugar. Since I had thrown up that morning what I tried to eat for breakfast she considered it a fasting blood sugar test. I had my thyroid checked a couple months ago and that was OK.

Urinalysis - to check for dehydrations and any infections. Also pregnancy.

X-ray of my stomach. The only thing she said about that was I have a strong artery next to my stomach.

Blood pressure - was slightly elevated

Temperature - Normal

The doctor came in and said the only thing it can be is stress; then stomped her foot and said stop stressing. Then told me to drink Gatorade when I am throwing up. She told me if I keep throwing up next week I can come back in and she will run more tests. She said they will be absolutely pointless, but if I push it she will do them.

I'm kind of at a loss. Whenever I don't feel sick I try to eat and then sit still and relax so I don't throw up. I am trying to get any little bit nutrition I can.

Pickles - I have done that before and it feels amazing. My issue is I don't feel tense or stressed at all.

Sweet - Would you do something de-stressing every night?
