Exercise! - Running App

I was told that there is some kind of app on the iphone that you can use that helps with running. I heard about it a while ago and of course have forgotten the name of it but the person said that it basically helps you work your way up to being able to run a mine. So I guess you run a minute, walk a minute, so on and so forth until you're running the entire time. Is this a crappy explanation? probably, but I don't know how else to go about it. lol There has to be someone out there who knows what I'm talking about!!!

I have an app called "Get Running," pretty sure it used to be called couch to 5k but I just now checked the name before I typed it and it is now called "Get Running." Haha.. I didn't even notice that. Anyways, I hate running, but this app is EXCELLENT!!! It made me actually kinda enjoy it!

There are several Couch to 5k apps out there I think. I use this one Cto5kapp (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/c25k-couch-to-5k/id301233668?mt=8). I like it because you can set it to play with your own music and have it just chime and say "Run" or "Walk" when it's time to switch. I think it cost $1.99 when I got it but now it looks like $2.99.
Couch to 5k has actually been around for awhile, since before apps, so you can get all sorts of info at these sites, including the chart that shows the run/walk intervals. There are also threads here that discuss it.
Cool running C to 5k page (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml)
C to 5k plan (http://www.c25k.com/) (I send my students here because it's also translated into lots of different languages! And at the bottom of the page there are links for podcasts with all sorts of different music or motivational stuff.)
