I looked it up and no, they won't do anything for you. They are based on what physical therapists use to strengthen small muscles. They are a good therapeutic tool when used properly but they won't do anything to rid fat.

I've used these machines extensively, but for therapeutic purposes.

Basically, there's no way, using one of these, to put enough stress on the muscle to do any good. They'll cause mini contractions in the muscle, sure, but not enough to give you any sort of muscle build or toning.

I've been using an electric nerve stimulator (which is what this is) for around a month, for 3-4 hours daily, on my left shoulder (they're used for pain management as well). With that amount of usage, if this was a muscle-building success, I'd have some muscle difference on that side, right? But I'm exactly the same. No increased muscle tone, no change at all on the side I've been using it on.

Bootcamp wont make you lose fat either.. its your DIET and being in a caloric deficit that makes you lose fat.

I think what one of the above posters wa trying to get across was that once you LOSE the fat (through DIET) the so called "toned" muscles you are looking for will be revealed....... the muscles are just hiding underneath a layer of fat, if that makes sense. Theres really no such thing as "toning" a muscle... you can BUILD muscle, or you can LOSE muscle, you cant "tone" it, or "lengthen" it or do anything to change the genetic structure of the muscle.

WHat you see in magazines, of women you would call "toned".... all it is is the layer of fat covering up the muscle isnt there... so in place is muscle DEFINITION, or "toned"

ANd no, electrical impulses will do NOTHING to help you reach your goals
