Default WW and breastfeeding

Hi,

I'll be giving birth to my son in a couple of weeks and would like to start Weight Watchers as soon as I can. I have the new PointPlus material and my daily points amount (34 points) but I'm not attending meetings. How many extra points do nursing mothers get a day? How many points should be used on milk products? I'm assuming I still get 49 Weekly Points allowance as well.

TIA for letting me know.

You get an extra 14 pts for exclusively breastfeeding and 7 pts if you are supplementing with formula or food (if you are supplementing with formula because of supply issues, I would not decrease your food intake because that can cause your supply to plummet). You are supposed to consume an extra milk product (so a total of 3 a day). Yes, you get the 49 weekly points also.

Congratulations on your little one! I don't know if it's your first, but being a mother is awesome!

first of all. Dont take your current number to heart. After i gave birth to my daughter, i lost 23lbs by a week later. So your number will change, And if you're breastfeeding or pumping, you need to tell weight watchers they'll give you a number and all the added information on that. It is an option on etools.

congrats

Default Thank you

I appreciate your responses! Wow, 14 points seems like a lot but I'll take it! I plan on exclusively breastfeeding. I'll also make sure to up my dairy servings to 3.

Thanks again.
