 Welcome Friends
You've found a great place to come and vent, share or ask for prayer support. This is a great group who will be very encouraging, caring and loving....anyone is welcome to join!
A Servant's Prayer --
Jesus, My Jesus....How marvelous are your ways....
Far more splendid than my mind can envision.
What an honor to be chosen by you.
A lowly child I am, but empowered by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the great hope to which you have called me.
I give myself totally to you, Lord.
Take my imperfect heart and make it perfect.
Peel away the hardness.
Close the doors I have opened to the temptations of this world.
Gently remove the roots of painful memories, sins, doubts and fears.
Discard anything that separates me from you.
Lord, fill the emptiness with the light of your love that I might be a beacon calling the lost back to you.
To love as you love.....
To serve as you serve.....
To forgive as you forgive.....
Always mindful of my nothingness while doing great and marvelous things in your name and for your glory.
This I pray, Jesus, in YOUR name ...

 HI EVERYONE ~ Yeah, the month of April is here; does that mean spring has arrived -- it seems so! We have had glorious :sunny: here for the last week (or more) and the "white stuff" has been melting on a steady basis. We are praying for an early spring after a cold winter, so that we can get out to our camping lot sooner this year. WE went up there for a drive yesterday; oh, we love going there so much and we needed it after a harrowing afternoon ... there's too much snow to get in yet; still some high banks from the snow plows, but that all should melt pretty soon.
I tried to get in here but my PC was acting up the last few days; tried tonight and all is well! So I thought I'd start the new APRIL Thread as no-one else had done that yet. We had a lovely day today as well, so we went for very long drive to a friend's place and it was very nice too. Boy, it sure cost us a lot for gas, but it was worth it becuz we saw two flocks of SNOWBIRDS that stopped over here on their way north -- they are so pretty to watch as they fly in formation.
We came home and had a lovely oven dinner; one of those precooked ones you just pop in the oven. I had cabbage rolls and DH had his favorite, which is Shepherd's Pie. I am glad to have a no-cooking night; we try to do this more often now. :D
Our dear NIKO got lost on us today; DH accidently let him get away ... again. Thankfully, he didn't go far; we went hunting to his favorite places (where other canines live) but then found him just behind our place -- sneaky rascal ... We were thanking GOD and His angels for helping us to find our baby so quickly!!! :)
Hope you are all well and having some nice spring-like weather where you all live; take good care ... Rosebud :flow2:

HI GALS ~ :)
Angie is sitting behind me on her laptop while I post here and watch the baseball game on TV (with the sound off as Angie and I still talk to each other even though we are "social networking" :D")
We got to spend some time with my GRANDdaughter today :carrot: We went over after church to watch her sleep :) then back this afternoon to see her really awake and attentive for the first time :carrot:
I posted a couple of short videos and the pictures here ~ http://s1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff439/GLM227/KAIA%20Week%202/?action=view¤t=MVI_2582.mp4
just keep clicking on the NEXT button ~
I will be working closer to home for a couple of weeks, only 130 miles roundtrip which is way doable for me! I hope to keep in touch a little better, although we may be putting in some overtime so...we shall see ;)
It is a pretty important job for us...my boss even called me today to make sure I was going to be there as planned on Monday...he has been on vacation...I told him I was there with my crew on Saturday...back to the ski slopes he went :)
ROSEBUD you are in my prayers...thank goodness for NIKO being safe!
04-05-2011, 11:24 AM
So glad to hear spring time arriving Rosebud and Nikko is safe. Gary have not looked at the videos yet but will tonight.
I got 3 more weeks on being a leader in our group on line. Was wishing I could say I lost a bunch of weight but only 10 pounds got no farther than that but thankful for 10 pounds gone. It is not easy to loose weight when you cannot move like you used to and like to eat. I am a member after this session for the rest of the year. I want it that way I can still encourage others and help the Leaders out.
04-05-2011, 09:42 PM
GARY ~ thanks for the prayers; appreciate them. We're trying to catch up on our sleep the last couple of days; it takes a while and we have some decisions to make over the next while too.
BOOTSIE ~ congrats on the 10 lbs you have lost; hey, that's a goodly amount you know. Lots of folks would love to lose that much any time, trust me. Glad things went so well with your program; we know how much you enjoy it and I'm sure they will appreciate your help too!
GOOD NEWS ~ On Monday, the computer guy I called got back to me (he is very busy), so I ordered a brand new PC with high-speed internet, so I should be set to go in about a week he says! :carrot: I decided to do this since the price is fair and the other one won't arrive up here until August or later (but I'll use that for a back-up and for personal stuff).
We had ***** here since yesterday but the skies have cleared tonight and the stars are out; and we are supposed to have :sunny: and warmer temps for the next few days -- that will probably melt all that off. Just had a quiet day at home; so was able to catch up on some of my emails.
Hope all our friends are having a great week; take good care ... Rosebud :flow2:
04-09-2011, 08:54 PM
:wave:HEY EVERYONE ~ I hope the scarcity of the replies around here is just an indication that you are all busy outdoors enjoying the amazing spring weather we are having ... am I right? Hmmm? ;)
We had the most wonderful weather today ... all the way up to about 70 F around noon, then it dropped down to about 65 F for the afternoon. Lots of snow was melting today; people were out walking and riding -- some without any jackets too. It is cooling off a bit now, but I hope these kind of temps will stick around so all the snow will melt this week. That would be fabulous!!!
We've had some good blessings this week: my new PC is on it's way with a 22" HD Television screen, dvd & cd burner, and lots of memory & speed too. Plus we received an unexpected IT rebate as well. They changed the forms so much, I didn't know how to figure it out, so I just sent in our income info and they figured it all out for us -- and surprise, surprise ... we got a check in the mail (most of which is going toward our savings for our cabin and some to my new PC). And thirdly, we've been blessed with a quieter week/end around here; thanks for your prayers about that. The kiddies turned their music way down; sure hope it stays that way. :D
Have a great weekend and take good care ... Rosebud :flow2:

Gary, she is a beauty ! What a lucky little girl to be born into such a nice family.
Oh 2 be me
04-10-2011, 07:47 AM
Morning all! I'm still around. Still taking baby steps on this journey of a healthier me.
Not sure if I told ya'll our grandchild is due Oct. 8th!! They are going to find out what it will be in May. We get to see them next weekend. They live almost 6 hrs away. We are meeting in the middle. ;)
I'm looking into how foods affect inflammation in the body. Very interesting. I'm beginning to think I have some kind of auto immune disease-rheumatoid arthritis or something. Or if it is just my back problems causing me to hurt all over. I know I have fibro. Will be going to a spine dr, then to a rheumatologist hopefully soon, just waiting on the phone call.
School is going well. Spring break this week so yeah!! I do have homework and tests to study for tho.
Well, ya'll have ablessed Sunday!!
04-12-2011, 03:55 PM
Rosebud-exciting to be getting a new computer:)
Not much going on here, except running, running, running....soccer practices 3-4 afternoons a week, games 1-2 evenings a week, plus all the regular stuff, like youth group. Trying to get DS3's testing done, so then the school year will be winding down. I'm ready for summer, but not. We have so many projects we need to complete that I just don't know how we'll get it all done and have the money to do them! Little by little will just have to be the theme for the rest of this year, I guess.
Well, shoot, have to go take care of something-bbl!

04-15-2011, 10:45 PM
 HI TO YOU ALL TOO ~ we've had a busy week here also -- I think as the good weather shows up, we will all be busier than ever. We've had people popping by for visits and us doing shopping & errands & favors for others, etc. Plus all our time doing stuff around here as well; little projects & big projects too!
We are making plans for the summer as well; and that takes time, esp as we get ready to go to the lot. We have to pack up some food, water, bedding, and lots of other stuff to take up there for the summer/fall as well. DH is ansy to get up there but they are predicting cold weather with some possible rain & **** for the weekend. So we'll wait for next week sometime, I think ...
YES, I have a new PC on order; hopefully it will arrive sometime soon. Seems the guy is busy; and I'm not sure what happened really??? He could be waiting for some parts to come though. I am getting a bit concerned as someone else told me something not so favorable about him, although it was years ago. Gee, I wish people would tell you these things beforehand instead of after, or not at all so you you don't have to worry ... moan ... :dizzy: Anyhow, we are praying things work out well with no problems; sometimes we just have to have faith!
DH and I are just having a restful night at home as I got a lot of walking in yesterday and my feet were a bit sore today. I picked up lots of books this week: our local second-hand store had a free book day on Thursday, so I gave them a donation instead!
Time to go have my tea and do a bit of reading for awhile; so take good care everyone ... Rosebud :flow2:

I am going to a Good Friday service tonight. I have been chosen to read Matthew 27:32-44. (The Crucifixion ). There will be other scripture readings as well from other congregation members. We have to stand behind the pulpit to read, my fear is that I will fall down on the way to the pulpit or that I wll start coughing or sneezing when I read,
04-22-2011, 06:47 PM
You will be fine BARGOO!
for the first time in 15 or so years Angie and I will not be reading at service tonight. She is playing bells in front and the readings tonight will be from the choir loft. Angie told vicar when he called that I could not be counted on with traffic from the job I am on right now...I did get home early enough but will sit with my family in the pews for the first time in a long time on Good Friday instead of reading from the choir loft...
Reflection and sadness surrounds me tonight....

Well, that is what Good Friday is all about isn't it ? By the way have you ever read Psalm 22 ? I am embarrassed to say I had not read it before, or if I had I had forgotten it. It is powerful.

Honestly, I am not sure that I have...but....
I have recited the words" My God, My God why have you forsaken me"....many times in the Good Friday readings at church.....
Thanks for "leading" me back to scripture tonight Bargoo....
04-23-2011, 01:29 AM
I wish I had a church to go too! It sounds like y'all are going to have so much fun, giving thanks to our Lord Jesus!
04-23-2011, 08:45 AM
I wish you did too BOOTSIE!
Well Bargoo how did it go last night?
It was strange but good sitting down in the pews for me last night with my daughter and Angie after reading from the choir loft for so many years. Hearing the voices of Peter, Jesus and others being read I wondered if I sounded as great as the crew did last night...probably not! I may have lost my job for good...lol!!!
Have a great Holy Saturday ladies...
I hope to return later today to share our plans but now must send the dogs in on Angie for our walk!!
04-23-2011, 01:39 PM
Gary, it went pretty well. I didn't fall down. I didn't sneeze, actually I felt more like weeping reading about the crucifxion of our precious Lord and Saviour.
04-24-2011, 07:10 AM
He Has Risen !!Hallelujah!!
04-24-2011, 08:06 AM
Getting ready to go to the Easter Sunrise Service .
04-24-2011, 08:34 AM
Since Angie has to play bells at the 8 and 10:30 services today we decided to skip the SONRISE Service...
I can see out my window my brother is taking off for it, the rest of our family will join me at 8 o'clock.
Have a great day gals....I will check in later.
HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Hello! I'm new to this site & really looking forward to meeting new people to share my weight loss journey with. I am a Christian and I believe that the only way i will suceed in losing weight is by the grace of God. I've lost a few pounds since I started my lifestyle change and I'm very excited about my future. I hope to meet a lot of great people here. Have a blessed day. :carrot:
04-24-2011, 03:37 PM
Curvy, welcome and good luck.
04-24-2011, 08:59 PM
Busy-busy-busy! Packing for work...see you all next week-end
We had a glorious EASTER below is the link to some pics and a very short "blurry" vidoe of Angie playing bells at the end of one of their songs...
I will get a better recording one day...
Don't you just love our stained glass window of Our Lord?!
Prayers for all

I tried to watch the Passion of Christ and I had to turn it off when they beat him, could not stand seeing him be beat and going through all that. I know it was a movie but to think Jesus suffered like that it just breaks my heart. No one has any right to treat anyone like that.
04-25-2011, 08:16 PM
:welcome: PAULA ~ glad you found us here; prayers going up for you for your new good health journey. Just take one step at a time; one day at a time; that's the best way to start. Small changes toward healthy eating & living is best; and before you know it, you will start to feel better very soon.
BOOTSIE ~ I know what you mean; I have the same issue. We have about 4 movies here about JESUS' life and journey to the cross; and every time we get to the part leading up to and during his crucifixion, the violence makes me weep for him. That's why I always thank Him for being so brave & courageous, and loving -- to have been so willing to endure so much for all of us!
I am sure that is what MEL GIBSON was trying to get across -- ISAIAH 52:14 says that HE was beaten so badly that His visage (face) and form (body) were marred more than any other man (Read through Chapter 53 as well). However, I am still glad that MEL decided to use his unlimited, GOD-given talents to make a movie that showed the world what JESUS CHRIST really did for us all; and GOD will use that movie to spread the gospel around the world to those who might not have heard it any other way ...
My old PC was acting up on me again, so I was limited how much posting I was able to do this week; got knocked off 4 times on Saturday, so I just shut 'er down. I still haven't got my new PC yet; am going to go to another place and see what happens. I wasn't pleased what happened with the other guy; so that must be a sign for me (he never got back with a final estimate of the cost; and kept changing things every time I talked to him too). So lesson learned; now we move on! LOL!
We have had a mixed bag of weather here; some :sunny:; some ****; some clouds; some :rain:; some cool temps & some warm ones. The snow is practically all gone now though, so we'll be able to go to our lot soon, I think (May is soon enuff anyways). We are still looking for better living arrangements; there have been some interesting developments lately -- so we are praying for GOD's leading to guide us to the best place for us!
Hope all our friends here had a lovely EASTER WEEKEND; we had friends over for dinner on Friday, but the rest of the weekend was fairly quiet for here. Of course, the stores have been closed, so shopping will wait until this week.
Have a great week coming up; May is almost here already -- where does the time go? Take care ... Rosebud :flow2:

Hi Rosebud. I am having a terrible time with my weight again. Yesterday I gained 5 pounds in one day and just feel terrible! Even if it is water it makes me feel really bad! I just don't know what to do. I am still with the ministry but this gain is unreal and I am sick of it especially when I just got through loosing that weight and here I am again, in one day. Please pray for me.
04-30-2011, 02:15 PM
We found out recently from a reliable source that our son has been dealing drugs. :( His gf kicked him out of their apt Easter Sunday, and he's been bouncing around ever since. He came to our house looking for a place to crash, and we told him he couldn't stay with us. He's been down this road before..the amazing thing is that we didn't know he was in trouble at the time. We thought he'd just had a falling out with his gf. I believe that the Holy Spirit was warning us that it wasn't safe for him to be in our home. :( He left some things with us, but he hasn't been back. It's been 3 days since we've heard anything. He may be in jail, he may be on the run from the law. Please just pray that he's safe. I'd rather see him serving the LORD behind bars, than living like  in the world!
04-30-2011, 04:53 PM
Praying for your son Joanne, that God takes him by the hand and guides him to safety, and keeps others safe from him, even if it is jail. Also praying for you Joanne this has got to be so hard for you.
04-30-2011, 06:10 PM
I haven't been here in a long time. Been thinking of y'all... Bootsie, Rosebud, Gary and others here and deided to drop in and see how y'all are doing. And decided I'd like to come back as I really miss the Christian fellowship here with you guys.
Joanne I will be praying for you and your son. It isn't easy to go through these things with our kids, but they have to learn that as much as we love them that there are just some things we will not and/or cannot tolerate. I pray that God will give you peace and pray that He will take care of the situation in a way that your son will come to his senses so he can escape the hold satan has had on his life and keep him safe as He restores him to you in a way that that only God can do that will bring Glory to God. I've always said that I am glad I'm not a young person going through what these kids go through and are tempted with these days. They really need our prayers
Bootsie I know this learning to lose weight and keep it off has been a real struggle for me too. I think I've found a way that is going to work for me. Right now my fasting blood sugar is coming down again and the scale seems to be moving downward. I want to know it really works long term before I share it, but if it does I'll definitely share with you. I do pray you will find what works for you.
Rosebud I hope you get your pc working for you soon.
Hope everyone has a blessed weekend.
04-30-2011, 08:35 PM
Thank You Trish and so glad your back. I have not been on here as much as i would like but things will start to slow down now for me some. I too sure hope Rosebud gets that computer soon, to think I used to want to shoot this computer when I got it now if I lost it look how many friends would go with it!
04-30-2011, 10:17 PM
Joanne, praying for you at this time , that you will have peace and that you will stay strong. praying for your son that he will get the desire to get away from drugs whether he is dealing or using. Praying that he will learn to trust God and learn he can have a better life.
05-01-2011, 08:58 AM
Hi Gals :)
Gosh, I am so sorry for never finding time to post here much lately :o With that new GRANDbaby and all this work out of town I am just not home much. I do read here though every time I come home and I do have :) good intentions to come back and most but...well.....anyway here I am this morning!
I was gone all week again but am having a great week-end so far. Friday afternoon when I got home I stopped by my son's and dil's house to drop off my bil...my sister was visiting the baby and she had his truck...anyway I was able to hold her for a few hours before I went home...which is just 1.5 miles away.
THEN :carrot: Angie and I went back over for our date night, taking take-out, and giving my dil a chance to do some grocery shopping. My son was coaching the high school track team at a night meet. So I was able to spen a few more hours with the little one... She is 5 weeks old now and really getting cute :)
Spent yesterday morning on a 4 mile walk at the beach then breakfast at the cafe with Angie and the golden's, Reba and Rylee ...awesome morning :)
I will return soon....time to throw the dogs in on Angie ;)
05-01-2011, 09:36 AM
consider the dogs thrown.....
Boy did they bolt out of there crates :D it was potty time!
After the beach Angie and I went to a new Christian bookstore near us, nice to have it, it is run by a Calvary Chapel church. So many of those stores have closed down with the economy and online purchases. Nice to have a place to go and browse the  WORD
After that we did a Costco run....OUCH!!! But we are good for a lot of stuff for quite a while...thank goodness :)
As we got home to unload I got a call from my daughter asking why I hadn't been up to see my granddaughter...she was visiting my dil for the day along with one of my nieces, it was my dil's :bday2:....I told her I didn't want to barge in on their party and was just shopping, vacuuming, and running errands.....they told me to get up there they were expecting me to show up today :D
So, Angie and I ended the afternoon with a nice visit with my daughter, dil, niece and my dil's grandparents who showed up after we got there...I got to hold the little one again :carrot:
After church this morning Angie and I are actually meeting my daughter/sil and son/dil/baby at my daughter's house in San Diego then we are going over to a huge art walk in Little Italy...should be a lot of fun.
Then back to out of town tomorrow...sure feel blessed t have work in this economy but I really could use a break of working near my house...I really do like my home better than a company apartment or hotel! But, it is the life I choose :)
JOANNE ~ Prayers for your son and your family  Although it has been over 20 years, my family traveled that road with the drug abuse with my brothers, they weren't dealing but using. My one brother has been clean and sober now 22 years thank you Salvation Army! :) And my little brother has passed over 10 years ago...he had kicked the drugs for almost 10 years but had returned to the alcohol...his issue was more of damage done to his heart from his drug abuse. It is a very difficult road to be on with loved ones...I was an "enabler" but was also pretty young and didn't understand the  "hold" the drugs had on them at the time....I do not blame myself in any way for their lives either....
ROSEBUD ~ I hope you get your PC up and running! I also hope the weather is treating you well and that "lot time' is just around the corner
BOOTSIE ~ I am sure that extra weight overnight was due more to water and sodium. I hope those fires are all under control, I assume they are as there has not been any mention of it here on our news as it was for a few days.
TRISH ~ good to have you back visiting!
BARGOO ~
Hello to all MIA's! :)
Well Ladies...off to get ready for church, Angie needs me to set up a table in the patio area for :yoga: sign-ups this morning...Be good
05-01-2011, 01:23 PM
The fire is now 74% contained. At last count, 310,995 acres have burned. New ones have popped up all over only 2 counties in Texas have not had a fire break out I heard this morning from a fire fighter. He had just been to San Angelo fighting a large fire. It is really odd to me anyway, that so many fires are breaking out everywhere, no one seems to know how most of them are starting.
I have lost that extra baggage now working on the 35 pounds needing to loose!
05-01-2011, 04:38 PM
Thanks for the welcome back.
Gary CONGRATULATIONS on that Grandaughter. I always said that I loved being a Mother, but being a Grandmother is fabulous. I'm going in a few weeks to see my 2 little Great Grandaughters and very much looking forward to spending time with them. They are 8 and 3 yrs old. I sure miss not getting to be with them more often. Glad you are blessed to have work even if it is out of town, but I know you would love to be closer to home especially at this time with the new Grandaughter. Have a safe trip to job and a safe return.
Bootsie You know I realized when I read what Gary wrote you about it not being weight gain. My last doctor's visit I had what looked like a 2 lb gain. When I mentioned it to the doc, he said "I'm not worried about 2 lbs. That could be caused by anything... sodium or you didn't go to the bathroom before". I think we get so scale focused that we forget that we aren't really gaining weight. Glad you lost the gain and headed back down.
Bargoo, Joanne, Rosebud and Everyone else reading:wave:
Have a blessed day!!!
05-01-2011, 09:20 PM
Your right Trish on the weight gain, it just freaked me out when I stepped on the scales and it was up 5 pounds. I know that my body does that a-lot but still it really gets to me.
I love being a Grandma too! We are going to Marfa to see my Grandson graduate and my heart is jumping up and down I am so excited to see them . It has been a year seems like and I miss my 5 grandchildren so much! Those of you that are so near your grandchildren write down all those special moments you have had with them and give it to them when you pass on. I just got a book out where I did that and one part Stormy was 3 and he was getting scared because of the wind blowing so hard and I told him yeah it is a wonder the wind don't blow a cat through the air it is blowing so hard! I had down that he looked at me and grinned and said Nanny.... I looked out the window and I said ,Stormy there goes a cat through the air! I had down and he just laughed and laughed. Now Stormy is 18 years old but I still have precious memorries of him when he was a baby.
05-01-2011, 10:25 PM
Thank you all so much for your prayers & support! My son stopped in yesterday just long enough to collect the things he'd left with us. We know that one of the bags had a portable scale . I believe the County Sheriff is looking for him, but they've got to catch him red-handed. My husband and I have been praying "whatever it takes" for years now! He needs to have a "pig pen experience" like the Prodigal Son in order for God to turn his life around!
Gary: You don't love that baby too much ;)! Enjoy your blessing.
Bootsie: I understand what a struggle it is to keep the weight off. God knows your need, and He knows how to help you!
Rosebud: I'm physically challenged..don't get out of the house without my DH to help me :D My PC is my lifeline to the outside world. I'd miss it so much! I hope you get your PC up and running soon.
Praying for a great week for everyone! :grouphug:
05-01-2011, 10:53 PM
STOP!!! PLEASE DON'T POST HERE ANYMORE ... becuz I started the new MAY chat thread, so come on over and join us there -- thanks!
JOANNE ~ I remember you well; and I responded to your last post in the new May thread too.
