GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, 2 of them:
Whatever you desire to do, it's important to start somewhere, and the best somewhere is exactly where you are. If you feel overwhelmed by the task, release that feeling and just get started. When you feel outnumbered or overpowered, choose to let go of that feeling and simply get started. If you think you're unworthy or unable, leave that thinking behind and set about to start where you are. Then work to move yourself steadily toward where you intend to go.
Some days you'll make more progress, and some days you'll make less that you'd like. Let the victories and the disappointments all serve to push you continually forward.
Circumstances will never be perfect -- just get started anyway. Things will never work out exactly as you anticipated -- just keep going anyway. What matters is that you start, and then that you persist. The twists and turns and bumps along the way can all end up working in your favor. Start somewhere, right where you are, and work your way toward whatever you can dare to dream.
-- Ralph Marston
**************
THE WORLD YOU CHOSE
If it is important enough to you, you will find a way. If it is not, you will find an excuse.
Difficult circumstances can challenge you but they cannot stop you. Only you can stop you. Others can give encouragement, can teach you and help you, or they can conspire against you to hold you back. Only you can decide what to do with it all, and what to make out of what you've been handed.
There are some roads that lead to success and others that lead to despair. The road you are on depends entirely on the road you have chosen.
Whether you see a life filled with beauty and positive possibilities or whether you see no hope at all, your assessment will most certainly prove to be true. So which one will you choose to see?
The world you choose to experience and the world you most sincerely choose to live in is precisely the world where you will be.
-- Ralph Marston

Have a wonderful day, and a fabulous week and a Merry Xmas!!!!!

SB since 3/22/00
Reached goal 6/10/01
Good morning! This is my first time posting on the SB boards. I have been doing low carb, but I am switching to SB so I can do something that my whole family can benefit from. I hope you don't mind me asking some questions. I tried SB once before and made a lot of mistakes and gained weight, eeek!
To start out with what is probably the first of many questions, is anybody here a vegetarian? I have been lurking here for a few days trying to read about it, along with my book and getting some really good pointers from Debbie. I'll try to not ask too much before I get it all read!
Looking forward to getting to know you all!

So good to me!
GREETINGS! Got ALL my shopping done on Saturday including wrapping them all! Got ALL my grunchies bought yesterday (took me 2 hours and $200 but no one will be going hungry this week :D ) Today we have to finish cleaning the bathrooms and put the finishing touches on the house before everyone gets here. Tomorrow night will be our traditional Christmas Eve Dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe - 'twill be a good time.
Our neighbors are coming over for Christmas Dinner (2 of them and her daughter is visiting), they had already invited another older couple over so they will be coming and that makes 12 total in my house for dinner. (13 if Vince gets to sneak home for a little while - he'll be working)
MONET I'm with everyone else - do tell - is the sausage ball recipe legal? Sounds like a great idea! BTW, I"m so looking forward to meeting you in person!
BOB I'm so sorry you're having to adjust your plans. Can you call the rehab people and see if they maybe made a mistake? What a bummer. Although I can tell you Vixen is doing the wiggle butt dance for Skeeter.....
MEL How kind of you to think about your family and how they might not like chicken salad with cottage cheese for Christmas. My mom ran down a huge list of things for me to get and it didn't take her long to get to $200 in groceries - and we've also got neighbors bringing stuff over!
JENNIFER - WELCOME TO THE BOARD!!! I feel like we've got a celebrity in our midst! Ask away! That's what we're here for and we all learn something even from the simplest question. I'd think it shouldn't be too hard to eat vegetarian (as long as you're not vegan) if you are careful to get enough protein. DEBBIE could easily get you hooked on hummus which would be a good source. There's some lentil recipes, too, I'll see if I can find some of mine. I'm not vegetarian, but some of our favorite dishes are.
TIGER WELCOME TO THE BOARD, TOO!! Is that an AUBURN TIGERLILEY?? It can be difficult at first to figure out how to join us, but now you've got it and it'll be a piece of....sugar free cake. ;) Come back to this thread all week and hit POST REPLY to add to the thread. Next Monday DEBBIE will have another one for us to start fresh from. As you can see we talk about everything from food to family.
Well, I better go get dressed and start moving. I probably won't be on the rest of the week, but I will be thinking about all of you! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

Happy Monday
Are your ready????
I'm almost there. I gift certificate (which I am getting on my way home). 1 gift to deliver (hope to get DD to do that today) and 3 things to pick up at the grocery (boy do I dread going there).
Eating wasn't great this weekend. Not totally bad. No sweets just too much food and some breaded snacks. I did realize one thing though, I can never go back to eating the old way. This is for me for life. I had some gingerale Sat as my stomach was upset and didn't have diet. Sunday my head was killing me. There was sugar in the meatballs and weenies so that added to it. I felt horrible and was ravenous all day. I did have 1 T of mashed potatoes for dinner. I haven't missed anything by not having them for 15 months.
Deb, I loved your statement in the MM. If it is important enough to you, you will find a way. If it is not, you will find an excuse. That really hits home. I have cut it out and hung in on the top of my computer to read everyday.
Bob, So sorry about your trip. Is there anyone that could check on Kate throughout the day for you? The airlines are horrible about that. Can you book a flight now an then change it again? Did you see the UK-Ind game?
IDblond. I'm glad not being online helps you but we do miss you. Merry Christmas to you too.
Mel., WOW! 13.2 miles. You rule. I couldn't even walk that much.
Melf, Tis the season to indulge. Just don't let it get out of hand.
Robin, I think the season is the reason we go crazy. It's there so we eat it. Just shake yourself off and go straight ahead. Keep it in control and you will be ok.
Sef, Loved the jokes, especially the Nite Before Christmas. So true. Take care of yourself.
Yellow, not to worry I don't think you will be the only one in Jan trying to lose those extra pounds.
Monet, Don't you just hate trying to find a last minute gift. Good luck.
Rosalie, 2 pounds. :bravo: Great. I think you are the only one losing right now.
Jennifer, Welcome. This is a great board and SB is a great WOE. It's good to see a newcomer this time of year. Ask away, someone will have an answer. I love the pic as your avatar. At least we know who we are talking to. I think we all should do that.
Tigerlilly, Welcome to you too. I hope you join us again when you move. Good luck. This is a great board for support and help.
Trish, Have a great birthday on Friday.:balloons: :gift: :hat:
I think I'll be checking in later today, but just in case. I want to wish each and every one of you on this board a very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year. A thinner new year, and happiness and love. I know I am so thankful for this board. I sure couldn't do this w/o you guys.

I ate like a :ink: ALL weekend and I'm NOT a happy camper.
On a lighter note (since I'm sure not lighter) I did get an adorable Christmas present...
Her name is ROXY and she's 7 weeks old. She's adorable and if she doesn't stop trying to climb the Christmas tree we're having her stuffed and put on the mantle.. *grin* I'M KIDDING!!!
First dog we've ever had with a tail... kinda weird..LOL

Gifts and wrapping are done, grocery shopping is done (and it went over $200 easily, SOL). I think I have enough food for twenty people, but only 10 are really going to be here. So LEFTOVERS! Yippee! I won't have to cook for a week after this, except for myself.
Now I have to start cooking without tasting- and it's tough knowing about what all is in the fridge. I'm going to take Christmas eve dinner and Christmas Dinner as free meals. Will try to stay SB legal (except for the cranberry sauce. The agave based sauce got a big thumbs down last year from everyone.) But forget about portions! and wine! I will get to the gym on Christmas tho- it's open from 7-1 and my trainer has made me a bet that I won't get there, so I'll show him! And it's leg day...can't miss leg day.
Sorry I can't reply, I gotta go start cookin'
Just wanted to say to BOB- I'm sorry about your trip!
have a good SB day, ladies!

My eating stinks...:) but I did workout for the first time in months!!! Yippee!!!!! The 3 mile walk with Leslie Sansone. A much stronger workout than I expected. It was great. My hips were hurting before I started so that was a little uncomfortable..but all in all a good workout. I broke a sweat but wasn't dying. :)
Beth..your puppy is soooooooooooooo cute!
Welcome Jennifer!
Jack-K...you are doing so good. I wish I could say I haven't had any sweets. I've been a bad bad girl..*smile*
Merlis...good luck on the eating with out tasting. I'm sure you can do it.
SolShine...sounds like it's gonna be very nice at your house on Christmas. We are having a nice quiet Christmas for the first time in years. Just us. The kids will get to enjoy their gifts and things without having to run here and there.
Welcome TigerLiley...you'll get the hang of this in no time.
In case life gets busy...HAPPY BIRTHDAY early TRISH! May it be full of all the things that make you smile. Beautiful memories and special surprises.
Merry Christmas and Happy holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was very bad at lunch. Went Mexican, had a burrito, chips and 2 margaritas. Don't know what came over me. Just kept saying it's Christmas. Got to get in control. Our new gym arrives on Monday so I am hoping that is all the motivation I will need. Need to get out and buy the new book too.
Beth, your puppy is adorable.
Bob, He learned from a good teacher I guess.
Mel, sounds like you have a plan. My monies on you getting to the gym.
Country, Yeah for you working out. At least you have one thing going great. Sounds like a lovely Christmas at your house. My kids used to open and run out the door. Now they have time and they are too big. We are going to get this eating thing down pat in just a few days. Hang in there. I'll trade you weights.
Probably won't be back until after Christmas. I am off the rest of the week.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY SB FRIENDS AND A HAPPY & SUCCESSFUL SB NEW YEAR TOO.

Good Monday Morning Everyone:wave:
I'm taking a break from cleaning to get a post while the board is fresh this morning.
Was suppose to go meet up with DENISE and DD Amber today but had to cancel, unfortunately. I not only got up very late this morning, due to not falling asleep til after 4am, but I just have a lot to get accomplished before Saturday when my cousin and his GF come to stay with me from Rochester.
Geez, here it is after 9pm already. I started the post, got called away and the computer was taken away from me. Kids don't have school, need I say more? Lauren just got off of the computer so I could hop on.
I didn't get as much as I wanted to get accomplished today. I'm pooped and don't have much oomph in me today. I didn't get to sleep until about 4:30am. I actually fell asleep at 8:30pm because I didn't feel well and woke up right before 11pm and couldn't go back to sleep. When I did wake up this morning it was late to late to go walk AND my legs were absolutely killing me! I lifted a lot of heavy stuff yesterday and I'm feeling it big time today!:fr: I'm hoping tomorrow will be better.
The garage sale went okay. I'd hoped to make more money and actually have no idea what I made at the end. The second day I didn't remember what I started out with at the beginning and then my sister was giving me money to pay her debt off that she had with me. I'm guessing maybe around $100 or so dollars. Lauren made $107 off junk she had, my sister made about $75 and 2 neighbors threw a few things over and made $35 and $60. I still haven't cleaned everything up out there - neighbors must be wondering about me!
Have to tell you this interesting story that happened with my sister today. She was driving and saw this elderly man stuck with his car and no one stopping to help. Even with all the kids in the car, she decided to stop and called for him to get help. They told her it would be 1 hour and luckily it was only 10 minutes because she was still with him. When she told my DM what happened, Mom told her she'd be rewarded. About an hour or so later she had stopped at a pawn shop she hadn't gone in to in about 15 years to see if they had a gold chain for my nephew and there at the pawn shop is her camera, not the same model, but her actual camera that had been stolen out of her car along with a video system for the girls rooms that had been stolen as well, which was also there. She has a case number with the police from when it happened and told the pawn shop that it was stolen property. Can you believe it! The camera has all these pics of the babies on it that she never took off and she was heart broken to think she had lost them. Now she's waiting for the police to call her to see how to get the stuff back.
Ummm, I had a really bad last 5 days of eating. You know I can never do anything short term and that includes eating off plan, no, I have to extend it for days on end til I feel my skin tingling as it streches as the pounds pile on! I'm back on track today though - just thought I'd confess my sins!
I can't believe in less than 3 weeks we'll be having our SB GET TOGETHER! Oh Lord, for those of you coming, you just don't have a clue. :s: For those of you who aren't - trust me, you'll be hearing about it and seeing lots of pictures, for sure!
I better get on the ball and try to get in a few replies while I can...
JENNIFER http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign4.jpg Actually I should say I'm honored that you are with us! I think it's wonderful that you are going to have the entire family following SB. With all the great food you are allowed they hopefully will find it an easy WOE to follow. I am not a vegetarian, but my 16 year old son is and I will also eat veg. items quite often which are acceptable on SB. It's very easy to follow this WOE and be a vegetarian-being vegan though is harder. Ask all the questions you have, we are more than happy to throw you out our 2 cents.
TIGER, http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign3.jpg Glad you've found your way on to the boards and decided to join us. Where are you moving to Missouri from? Unfortunately, corn products are discouraged on SB. BUT, I do want to say this, it may be possible to eat something once in a while in small moderation and still be able to lose weight successfully on this WOE. The glycemic index is a tool to help you follow this woe and corn is high GI. BUT, an old member that made it to goal ate bananas each day and still lost weight successfully. What may bother one person may not bother another. You can try it and see how you do if you really want to eat a certain item.
SOL, so what's VIXEN being spoiled with on her first Xmas? I'm counting the days down til we all meet up at the new house - I can't wait!!!!
JACKK, I can totally relate with eating off plan and feeling icky. Will we ever learn??? Glad you liked the MM - I have to get on the ball and really re-read these things, I definitely need the motivation myself!
BETH, you're not alone with the eating, I think we all need a wagon pick up! Congrats on the new addition to the family - is it a pit? Hey, forget the mantel, if she continues to try climbing up the Xmas tree just use her as the topper!
MEL, I can't believe you did the entire 13.1. I don't think I will be albe to do it before the race, guess I'll just have to wing it. It's hot here again. Dying to know what the race weather will be come race day! I'm hoping to try and get a few longer runs. Heck, I'm just hoping come tomorrow I can walk normally, much less run! Did you ever get my e-mail about the shuttle from the hotel so you won't need a car????
COUNTRY, join the crowd with the stinky eating!
HEART...join the crowd too!
Well, I'm going back to clean something. Lauren was asking me why I was cleaning the closet in the family room when no one sees it. I guess I should of been cleaning stuff that's obvious. Will have to work on that tomorrow. Even with having the garage sale and getting rid of a lot of stuff, it doesn't look like I even made a dent anywhere.
Well I want to wish each and every one of you a MERRYCHRISTMAS!

Debbie, how wonderful that your sister found her stuff at the pawn shop! Don't feel too bad about the eating. It's not going too well here either right now, but you know what? As soon as the holidays are over, so is the eating. It will be big time OP. Will not be foolish about what I eat between now & then, but I will eat what I like for Christmas. It's only once a year.
Meliris, wow!! 13.2 miles, you go girl. Now you know for sure that you can do it!
Bob, so sorry your plans fell through.
Tiger, no, cornbread is not ok with or without the sugar because it's CORN. That is a :nono: But hang in there. Good luck with your move.
Jennifer, WELCOME to this corner of the board! I'm like SolShine, I feel like we have a celeberty(mispelled:eek:) in our mist :D Of course we think that SB is the best WOE. Even though we do stray at times :o
Solshine, Hope you have a great time with all your family there. Sounds like you have all your ducks in a row, now go have a blast.
Well I finally have all my gifts wrapped & under the tree. Did some grocery shopping done yesterday. Have to work again tomorrow then hoping to get finished cleaning house for the family get together here Wednesday. Going to ds's house tomorrow night for fireworks & bond fire. We all live in rural areas, so we can do that. :) She's cooking gumbo, so I doubt that I'll eat any. Will hold off till Wed. lunch.
DD is on her way in from TX tonight. It's been raining here all day & we're under a tornado watch so I'm praying they don't hit too much of that weather on the road. Oh, also have Mom here for the night, so it's wall to wall beds tonight LOL. Well, got to go get some shut eye.
Hope to get back tomorrow night, but in case I don't.

Hi all! Whew....I am soooooo stressed, I can't even put it all into words. :( I have been trying to keep up by at least reading all your posts. My eating has been horrible and I am totally out of control. I've been eating a lot of white and refined products. Not too much sugar but enough to make me nauseaus and give me headaches. I feel really horrible and It's not going to be getting better over the next couple of days. I have been so good since Sept. and now I feel it's all over.:?: It's really quite depressing. I'm just hoping to maintain and not gain too much. This will be my last post for quite awhile. I felt compelled to stop and say "hi" and wish you all A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! :)
Beth: Your new puppy looks just adorable!
Debbie: That's pretty weird what happened to your sister. I believe in Kharma, that's for sure! I hope you are feeling better now....
Melf: The bond fires and fireworks sound like fun. I love that kind of stuff. I will be in front of a campfire for about 7 days starting the day after Christmas!!!
WELCOME TO JENNIFER AND TIGER!!! This is the coolest group of gals anywhere!!
Jackie: I can relate to you. I have been eating mexican almost everyday in some for or another. I've bee really craving it.
Hi Sonya, Mel and BOB: Will see you soon in Orlando!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRISH!!:hat: :grouphug: :balloons:
Hi to Crystle and Heartmom too and anyone else I unintentionally forgot to mention in my post.
Anyway, I will be busy with family tomorrow and on Christmas. The day after Christmas, I will be camping and riding all terrain vehicles for 7 straight days in Central Florida. It's supposed to be in the 40's at night so we will have a bond fire every night. I will not be back in town till January 2nd and I will say Hello to everyone then. Take care all and I hope everyone has a very special Christmas and lots of fun throughout the holidays!!

I will NOT being participating in WIW this week... I'm taking a Christmas holiday...LOL
DEB - Yep... the pup is a pit. I caught a lot of flack from some people I know because of that... but she came from housepet parents, from a housepet background and we are VERY familiar with training dogs to respect us as alpha as we have an agressive/dominant Weimaraner.... so she will be getting plenty of training. That being said she is one big TONGUE with paws. That darn girl will LICK everything that walks past her. She adores my kids and will kiss them until they think their skin is coming off..LOLOL. She's a cutie, for sure!
Welcome new people... stay OP!!! LOL. Once ya stray, I swear it's harder and harder to get back on track.
Yesterday I had a piece of hersheys dark chocolate... one candy cane... (and a tiny piece of pineapple upsidedown cake)
UGH!!!! Just hog tie me and throw me in the closet until Christmas is OVER!
See Y'all Later!!

Oh, Man, I am so sorry I did not check in yesterday. I was having to fight my daughter for the computer, and I barely got to check my email! Thankfully, she is asleep right now, or I would not be on here!
The sausage ball recipe is legal. It is rather simple. I use 1 12 oz. roll of reduced fat sausage, 8 oz. of grated cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup sgww flour and a tad of baking powder. If you make or use a whole wheat baking mix you can sub that. The regular recipe calls for 1/2 cup of bisquick, so anything that can sub for that will work. Mix it well, roll into small balls..about an inch to an inch and a half. Bake at 400 until done. Maybe about 15 to 20 minutes. (as you can tell, I really don't have this written down, I just make it every year, and bake them until they are nice and brown..my family likes them crunchy!) A recipe makes about 30 balls.
I am doing ok, just very very tired. I have a doctors appointment next week, and I am going to have to talk to him about the possibility of chronic fatigue syndrome, or other complications. I still have a large knot on my neck of swollen glands. I do ok until I do anything even slightly strenuous...like walking around a shopping center. Then I ache all over, and feel like I can't move another step.
Of course, having the fatigue problems has its advantages when you have a husband like mine. He told me to rest this morning, and he went out armed with a list to get the odds and ends I still needed. It is just candy and little things for stocking stuffers, but it is nice to be able to veg and not deal with the crowds! The rest of my shopping is done. My sister in law gave me more ideas for her beau, so I got him a shirt, and will give him some hankies, and try and get the monogram done for him later.
Dinner is all planned...the family Chef, my son in law, is making a huge roast beef. It is all prepared and in the fridge waiting to be popped in the oven at six tomorrow morning. He is making stock with the trimmings and my house smells divine! We will make Yorkshire pudding (one with ww flour for us SBers...), and green bean casserole and other goodies to go with it. He is also making some duck pate', and got all kinds of unusual cheeses to serve as a brunch.
I am not getting on the scale, since I have nibbled on some naughty goodies the last few days. A neighbor brought a plate of cookies, and I had to try one. BIG mistake! They are the best cookies I have had in a long time! I got a box of Russell Stover sugar free candies to help keep me from being tempted, but I ate them much too fast! Seems the box did not last more than two days!
I hope everyone has a very wonderful holiday. May God's love fill your hearts and homes with warmth, and laughter.

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone:wave:
Despite feeling like somewhat of a zombie:faint: from lack of sleep and despite it being REALLY late when I finally did wake up, I got this flabby arse out and did my 4.5 miles. Wasn't anything great and had to walk a lot of it because not only are my legs still hurting a bit, the wind out there is a killer today-oh, did I mention the heat was a factor too? Took me 53:45, better than I thought at least.
I have to get in the shower and run a few errands, none which will be at any stores except possibly the grocery store which, when I ran by it, is a zoo in itself. I need milk, eggs and few other things and since the stores aren't open tomorrow better brave those crowds. I have to go by the library and return some videos and to a church to donate a coffee table I don't want to save til my next garage sale-better give it to a place that I know will give it to someone in need rather than sell it.
My eating was great yesterday and I'm confident today will be just as good, as so will tomorrow. Since we don't do anything for Xmas, it's not a problem thinking about Xmas dinner. Thursday we are going to my cousins house for dinner and I don't anticipate any trouble there. New Years day will be the next thing to roll around and since it's at my house I'll have no problem staying OP, so I figure that I should be staying OP until ORLANDO! Possibly the day before we come up may start my downward trend:shrug:
MELF, I'm sure after the holidays many will get back on the wagon. We'll just have to ask for some back up wagons to get everyone back on track. I think we can at least stay OP til Orlando, don't you? I for one KNOW that I will be indulging somewhat there, but hopefully you and the other gals won't let me stray too much, and vice-versa;)
DENISE, have a wonderful time at River Ranch and enjoy Xmas and New Years to it's fullest. Give me a buzz when you get back in to town and settled in.
BETH, I have to admit, I would probably be giving you some flack about the dog. They have been banned here where I live due to all the problems of them attacking not only strangers, but their own family, esp. children. The "most gentile dogs" people would say and then they ended up attacking children within their own family, many times fatally. Just PLEASE be careful. We've seen too many things happen down here, and you know it has to be bad when a breed is banned from a place as big as Miami Dade. Enjoy the holiday and afterwards, no more excuses, from any of us-it's back on the wagon and on the straight and narrow!
MONET, jump on board the wagon when it comes your way, as the rest of us will be doing. Rest up girlfriend, you need some energy for Orlando!!!
Okay, I'm outta here for now. I'll check back later today. Will just be watching some foreign films between the cleaning - need a break or two, you know;) Saw a good one yesterday called SHALL WE DANCE, a Japanese film. I have 2 they are holding for me today, and a new book, some new diet book I want to look at, always trying to read the latest of what's out there!
Once again, MERRY[/color=crimson]CHRISTMAS![/color to yo all!

A Mom's Night Before Christmas
It was the night before Christmas, when all through the abode Only one creature was stirring, and she was cleaning the commode. The children were finally sleeping, all snug in their beds, While visions of Nintendo and Barbie, flipped through their heads. The dad was snoring in front of the TV, With a half-constructed bicycle on his knee. So only the mom heard the reindeer hooves clatter, Which made her sigh, "Now what's the matter?" With toilet bowl brush still clutched in her hand, She descended the stairs, and saw the old man. He was covered with ashes and soot, which fell with a shrug. "Oh great!!" muttered the mom, "Now I have to clean the rug." "Ho-Ho-Ho!!" cried Santa, "I'm glad you're awake. Your gift was especially difficult to make." "Thanks, Santa, but all I want is some time alone." "Exactly!!" he chuckled, "I've made you a clone." "A clone?" she asked, "What good is that? Run along, Santa. I've no time for chit-chat." It was the mother's twin. Same hair, same eyes, same double chin. "She'll cook, she'll dust, she'll mop every mess. You'll relax, take it easy, watch the Young and the Restless." "Fantastic!!" the mom cheered. "My dream come true! I'll shop. I'll read. I'll sleep a whole night through!" From the room above, the youngest began to fret. "Mommy?!? I'm scared, and I'm wet." The clone replied, "I'm coming, sweetheart." "Hey," the mom smiled, "She knows her part." The clone changed the small one, and hummed a tune, As she bundled the child, in a blanket cocoon. "You're the best mommy ever. I really love you." The clone smiled and sighed, "I love you, too." The mom frowned and said, "Sorry, Santa, no deal. That's my child's love that she's trying to steal." Smiling wisely Santa said, "To me it is clear, Only one loving mother is needed here." The mom kissed her child, and tucked her into bed. "Thank you, Santa, for clearing my head. I sometimes forget it won't be very long, When they'll be too old, for my cradle-song." The clock on the mantle began to chime. Santa whispered to the clone, "It works every time." With the clone by his side, Santa said, "Good night. Merry Christmas, Mom. You'll be alright."

This will be my last post probably for a couple of days. At least I'm not alone in falling off the wagon, lol. Saturday, we went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant and I totally blew it and then Sunday I was doing good until my friend whips out a bag of Hershey's mint chocolates. I ate so many that I lost count so then since I already cheated I continued to cheat throughout the night! So yesterday morning I woke up and it hurt to open my eyes they were so puffy, I stepped on the scale and it was up 4 pounds. I had one cheat yesterday, but drank lots of water and this morning it's a little better and I'm only up 2 today. I plan on eating good tomorrow, but getting back on track Thursday. I'm not going to continue like I've been. It seems every since Thanksgiving I haven't stayed OP more than 2 days or so at a time. Okay, my confession time is over. I hope you all have a great time over the holidays!

Merry Christmas everyone!
Just popping in to wish all of my SB pals a Merry Christmas! I'll be back more now that my computer is plugged in again! :)
As you all know I had my breast reduction surgery that DEB was totally against! Everything went fine and I'm feeling really good. I had it a week ago today. I feel so much better- DEB tried her hardest to convince me not to have the surgery and I totally see her point but I am a stubborn hard-headed turd and I did it anyway! So, please don't hate me DEB!
I hope all of you are doing just great and I look forward to meeting all of the newbies that have joined since my computer has been down!
Love,

Evening All:wave:
Thought I'd get in a post while I take a short break from doing some cleaning and wrapping a few of ELI'S presents that I haven't wrapped as of yet.
Didn't do much of anything today-just what I had wanted to do. One thing to tell you, when I went to the library I looked at the new books section as I always do and what do you think they had there? The NEW SUGAR BUSTERS BOOK! Was surprised to see it as I thought it wasn't out til next month, but there it is. Will be reading it for content over the next few days/weeks to see what's new, if anything, in there.
HEART, it's weird when we get a taste of something, like chocolate, how we can go absolutely ballistic and eat that crap so uncontrolably! I swear, if I didn't know better, I'd think the candy mfg. companies put addictive drugs in their chocolates. We really have to think of this junk as a drug, just look how we can't control ourselves when we that first piece. Don't worry about your eating, you're on the top of the list for the wagon pick up!!!;)
FRUIT, glad to see you checking in. I could never hate you, that was a decision only you could make, I just thought it wasn't right at this time for you. I hope and pray that you won't regret it later, that's all. As long as you are happy with everything, THAT'S what's important. Okay, so how many pounds did you lose from the boob job?
TIGER, where in FL are you moving from? Too bad you aren't sticking around, you could of come to our get together in Orlando in a couple weeks! There's a bunch of us from the Sunshine State!
Well, that's it for me for now. I hope you all get what you've wished for for the holidays. After tomorrow we have just a week to look forward to the New Year, and a good New Year I hope it will be for everyone!

DEB: Honestly - I don't know. After the surgery I asked him how much he took out and he didn't tell me - I guess he figured that with all the drugs and all that I wouldn't remember. So, I'll have to ask on my next visit. On the morning of my surgery I was weighing 252. By the time I got to my house 2 days later I was at 254 - go figure. So, I don't know! This morning - 248. Honestly though, I haven't been eating much and I am still very swollen and have fluid build up I think. I've acquired a disease in my mouth - something similar to -if not - stomatatis. I have ulcers all over my tongue, throat, tonsils, etc. and I can hardly swallow. So, I can't eat anything without severe pain. I had a cup of FF/SF frozen yogurt for supper and that killed me to put it down. Naturally, my tongue was the only thing bothering me at first and my pharmasist said it could be a yeast infection from the antibiotic. Then late this afternoon, I noticed the ulcers - you know - after all dr. offices are closed!! So, unless it gets horribly bad I'll be going to the doc on Thursday. If for some reason I'm totally miserable tomorrow - I'll head to the ER.
We aren't doing anything with my family this year for Christmas - they are all at my dad's which is 3 blocks away but we had a huge falling out with my step brother and I can't be in the same room with him without killing him. So, I thought it was best to stay away. My sisters will come here to see me tomorrow and I'll go visit my dad & step mom after the evil step brother leaves. I'll have to fill y'all in on what happened another day when I'm a little more up to par! My dad doesn't want him to ruin my Christmas just cause he's an *******, but I really don't think I can be civil. So, don't you think it's just best for me to stay away? Me being sick with the mouth thing and recovering from surgery gives me a good excuse to leave myself out of the festivities and spend a quiet Christmas here with my wonderful hubby!
Well, have a wonderful day tomorrow! I'll be checking in!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
I didn't mean to be absent from the board last week. I had temporarily lost my interent service at home and don't really have a chance at work to do any posting. Anyway, I have it back now and wanted to check in.
We were supposed to have a Christmas Eve dinner party Tranquils' house tonight. She became very ill today with a flu bug and high fever so we had to postpone our plans. She has been in bed miserable all day. How awful for her to be sick at Christmas. We will try to have dinner at her house tomorrow, with me and her Gram taking care of the kitchen, and hopefully she will be feeling a little better, or at least be able to sit up for a short time and eat a bite of food.
I must confess that my eating has been terrible, especially with the sweets. I would like to blame it on all the goodie baskets that were sent to our office the last two weeks, or on all the stress that I have financially, or because of my impending divorce and ect.... BUT, after reading Deb's MM message yesterday, guess I can't get away with it as it would just be an exuse and it is the road I've been chosing lately. I am absolutely miserable from being an eating machine and ready to choose the better road. I wish I could understand why I do this to myself.
I sure admire all of you that are being more faithful with staying on program during the holidays. Way to go with losing 2 lbs Rosalie! Fantastic!
Crystle, hope your quiet Christmas at home with the kids is a very blessed time for your family.
Jack k, I copied your idea and printed the MM statement to put on my computer. It hit home with me also. Lucky you being off all week. Hope you enjoy your week!
Deb, the story about your sister finding her stolen items at a pawn shop is really awesome. Hope she can get her things back soon.
I still have some gifts to wrap so have to run. Welcom to Jennifer and tiger, and hello to everyone else. I'll be back soon.
Take care,
Wendy

Twas the night before Christmas and all round my hips
were Fannie May candies that sneaked past my lips
Fudge brownies were stored in the freezer with care
in hopes that my thighs would forget they were there
While Mama in her girdle and I in chin straps
had just settled down to sugar-borne naps
When out in the pantry there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter
Away to the kitchen I flew like a flash
tore open the icebox then threw up the sash
The marshmallow look of the new-fallen snow
sent thoughts of a binge to my body below
When what to my wandering eyes should appear:
a marzipan Santa with eight chocolate reindeer!
That huge chunk of candy so luscious and slick
I knew in a second that I'd wind up sick
The sweet-coated santa, those sugared reindeer
I closed my eyes tightly but still I could hear
On Pritzker, on Stillman, on weak one, on TOPS
a Weight Watcher dropout from sugar detox
From the top of the scales to the top of the hall
now dash away pounds now dash away all
Dressed up in Lane Bryant from my head to nightdress
my clothes were all bulging from too much excess
My droll little mouth and my round little belly
they shook when I laughed like a bowl full of jelly
I spoke not a word but went straight to my work
ate all of the candy then turned with a jerk
And laying a finger beside my heartburn
I gave a quick nod toward the bedroom I turned
I eased into bed, to the heavens I cry
if temptation's removed I'll get thin by and by
And I mumbled again as I turned for the night
in the morning I'll starve...'til I take that
first bite!

Hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL holiday :)
I think I got about 5 pounds for Christmas... ugh!
DEB - I agree that some dogs can have the propensity to be dangerous... but not if they are bred right. We have had NO incidence of pit attacks in my area because breeding them to fight isn't a thing here like it is in areas like Miami and Chicago and some in California... that's why the bite incidences are higher there, because more of their pits were BRED to FIGHT and then people bought "pets" from a fighting line. I also read a really interesting website that proved that there are SEVERAL bites and attacks that were blamed on pits that were later proven to be mixes that just LOOKED like pits. They even had pictures of about 10 dogs on the site daring you to find the ones that were pits... I picked 3 myself... and NONE of them were. It just goes to show you have to be careful what you listen to. :)
BOB - I got a gift certificate to Bed Bath and Beyond, but I'd trade in a minute for the Blockbuster one  LOL!! We got my MIL a DVD player, so I'm sure she'll be heading to buy some DVD's soon now!
Well... I'm off to do the family shuffle. My MIL spent the night, and they left this morning... to my dad's next and then to my moms. (About 3 hours of driving!!!)
Love Y'all.... Merry Christmas!!!!!

The presents are opened, way too much food is all over, and in the oven. My borther and his family were supposed to come visit, but we are having one of our lovely PA storms of alternating snow, rain, sleet, and general slush, expected to freeze hard by late efternoon. So it's just the four of us and enoughr food for 12! I'm doing my best to make sure there won't be too much left over  .
Have eaten all sorts of terrible stuff and I don't even care. Tomorrow's a new day.
I DID get to the gym this morning after we opened presents and had an awesome leg workout. There were more people there than I expected, and it was very fun and friendly. I won the bet and will be receiving a new t-shirt. I'm a little worried about what it's gonna say.
ok- the kitchen beckons.
Have a wonderful Christmas, everyone!

I CAN'T GET THIS BLASTED DVD TO WORK!!!!!
The movies from Blockbuster were terrible except for Unfaithful.
Tom Cruise has gone techno and I don't like him like that!
IF I could get the new box to work, I would be satisfied, but I'll have to go to Bestbuy and see if I'm doing something wrong, or if I need additional plug ins!
The turkey is done, and we'll be greasing down here in a few minutes...

Hey everyone!
I can probably say for the 1st time that I've been awesome today. You know why - cause I can't eat a flipping thing! I'm going to the Dr. tomorrow to see what is wrong with this mouth of mine!
Went to my Dad's after my step-brother left. But, my sisters came over here earlier and told me that when my dad was saying the blessing that he cried cause we weren't there. I feel horrible. I'm his baby and I know it killed him for us to not be there - it killed me to hear that I hurt him so badly. To top it off - it is his birthday today too. I hope it made my step brother who was sitting there getting ready to fill his face feel even worse - everyone knows the reason I wasn't there was because of him. He was a total ******* to us and embarrassed us terribly at the LSU/ARKANSAS game in front of thousands of people - even so far as to make fun of my hubby because he is now deaf in one ear from that car accident that we were in this summer. He and Terry talked it out and my SB apologized but things will never be the same again. We don't ever even want to see him again. So, I didn't go to Christmas today because I really didn't know how I would react - I might be in jail for murder tonight had I gone. I just hate that my dad was so hurt.....
I hope he understands....he had come by the other day and told me not to let one ******* ruin my Christmas but I just couldn't go. Anyone else ever have a similar situation?
BOB: I'd love to have rammed my fist and my tongue with my contageous self all down his throat! I'm so horrible! But he is such a MF! I can't stand him.
Hope everyone else had a better day than I did - it was nice staying home with hubby but not the same as being surrounded by your whole family........
See you tomorrow
Merry Christmas!

Good morning everyone. Send the wagon around, or the sleigh, or whatever, just pick me up!!! I had way too many nibbles of this and that, made and ate the most awesome cornbread dressing on Christmas Eve. Haven't exercised in forever, either. I was pretty good yesterday, I made a prime rib roast, with asparagus, brown and wild rice, and salad. Made a sf cheesecake with the pecan crust. I also made this awesome Mediterranean layered dip and served with ww pita chips. It was all really yummy. For breakfast yesterday morning, I made breakfast tacos and used the ww tortillas.
We had a really nice holiday, spent too much, ate and drank too much and slept too little. Back to work today, though, yuk!!
BOB - when you get your DVD figured out, sign up for Netflix. Girl, it's the coolest thing and works great! You can usually get a month free, if not, email me and I think I can sign you up for a free month. Was K-19 the one where Harrison Ford is a bad guy?
Deb - Is our room all cleaned out??? I can't wait until the get-together. Honey got me some new sneakers, and 2 new spiffy outfits to wear for the trip. He's the sweetest thing. I'm with you, staying OP until the trip.
Fruit - I know exactly how you feel. I've had a major falling out with my sister and her husband. You have to do what's right for you. I'm sure your father understands and if you had been there when your SB was there, it probably would have been even harder on him, feeling like he was put in the middle. I think you did the right thing. By the way, I'm really sorry that LSU is going to have lose their bowl game this year, cuz the Horns are going to kick bootie! Chris and Mac have something to prove in the Cotton Bowl on New Years Day.
Mel - I can't believe you made it to the gym on Christmas. Good for you!!! Is it still snowing up there?
Tiger and Jennifer - Welcome to the board. Tiger, sorry about the cornbread dressing (or as we Southern gals call it, dressin'.) I made it and ate it anyway and it was awesome. I figure it might have a little fiber in it, so maybe that helps. I also don't put any white bread at all in mine.
Monet - Hope you get to feeling better soon. Maybe you're still trying to overdo too fast.
Melf - Did you guys have any major bad weather? We had a tornado about 20 miles east of here that destroyed a couple of houses. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.
Denise - Hope you're having a wonderful time!!
I guess I'd better get to work and at least look busy. Hi to everyone I missed.
P.S. - Deb, my birthday is actually on Saturday, the 28th, but thanks for thinking of me.

Sorry, this is going to have to be a quick one, the kids and I have a dental appt in less than an hour and I haven't taken a shower yet:yikes:
We have a dinner at my cousins tonight, have to leave here at 3pm to get up there at 4pm, why she did it tonight, I don't know. Will try to get on after we get home, that's if I can get to the computer before one of the kids! That was the reason I couldn't get on as intended last night.
Have to say, I did get on the scale for WIW yesterday and was quite happy to see 129! Ditto for today:D

After too much eating and drinking I'm officially way up. I think over the last month it's all been adding up. I weigh more now than I have in about a year...ugh. I know I can get back on track. It's just hard. That vicious cycle of high scales and wanting to eat because they are high. I know that makes no sense but that's the battle I'm having for the last few weeks. Hopefully, prayerfully I will get it together. We had a wonderful holiday with family.
Fruit...I am so sorry to hear about your sore mouth and problems with your step brother. I know you had to miss being with your family very much.
Trish...I hear ya...I won't mention all my nibbles...and gorging..LOL But it was a fabulous holiday. I'll sit by ya on the wagon.
Mel....I'm sure you will be back on track. You are an awesome example for the rest of us.
Well, my lazy hinny is gonna get the bed made and get ready to hopefully walk in the living room now that the tree is gone. I am so bad...I always take it down Christmas day. My family thinks I'm nuts....but I LOVE getting my living room back.

Just wanted to catch up. It felt so good getting back on here.
I think I will stop at the library today and see if they hae the new SB book.
Deb, how awesome that your DS found her camera and stuff. It is so great that the baby's pics are still on there. Fate is strange isn't it? My eating has been bad for the last week too. Not any sweets just bad food, chips etc.Today has started off OP so hoping I can stay there. Yeah for you being at 129. Awesome
Melf sond like you have a full house. enjoy.
Beth, that loset is going to be crowded. We are all in the same boat. It will be over soona nd we can get back OP and stay there.

Fruit, glad you are back. Glad your surgery went well and you are feeling fine again. I bet you look good too! I hope your mouth gets better. I bit my tongue pretty bad last week and it is hard to eat too, but I'm sure nothing compared to yours. It's bad to hav troulbe in the family. My DH didn't speak to his brother for 12 years. he just killed himself a month ago. Don't know if DH has any regrets or not. Sorry it ruined your Christmas.
Serene, welcome back. Hope tranquil is feeling better by now. It is horrible being sick this time of year. One good thing, it keeps you frome eating all th bad stuff.\
Bob, what appropriate gifts for you. Neve seen anyone like movies as much as you do.
Mel, WTG on getting to the gym. I need to get exercisign again.
Country, I can't wait to get my stuff down too. It does look so bare afterwards though. I will wait a couple more days.
Need to fun. I have amask on to try to get rid of all these wrinkles and the time is way past. I can't even move my lips or eyes.

Hi!
Spent the morning returning some gifts that didn't fit/didn't like/didn't want- everyone else's that is. I expected huge crowds at the stores, but they were fairly empty. Surprising. I guess either everyone else bought the right stuff, or was scared off by the weather. I got a cd/mp3 player from dh which I really wanted, especially for the really boring long runs I'm doing. But he bought a neon puke green one! What was he thinking? Only good thing I can say about it is none one will swipe it, that's for sure. I'd really like to return it, the color makes me cry, but it's so unusual for him to get me anything that I remotely want, that I'm afraid to. Usually I get things like a dustbuster, a new computer mouse, a waffle maker....
Oops, gotta go, will try and post replies later!

I am starting today. I have read the books and really like the SB for Kids book. I need to lose about 100 lbs and am never able to stick with any program for more than a week. I don't know why I can't follow through, I do with everything else in my life. Please help if you can.
I hope I am posting in the right place, let me know if I am not.
I am going to take this one day at a time and hopefully this time change for good. I eat way, way, way too much sugar and know this intellectually but can not stop myself when it is there or when I am stressed. I am going to stock my house with only legal items, maybe that will help.
I love to cook as well as eat so I can't wait to make some recipes.
Please help me to stay focused,

Crystle, would you come to Pflugerville and take down my stuff. The only thing I hate more than dragging it all out, is putting it all up.
Jack-K - Get those tapes out of the wrappers, step 2 is watch them. Have your DH try Priceline for a hotel. There's a website called biddingfortravel.com that explains how to do it. I know there's an Amerisuites and a Comfort Inn that are close to the airport and the port in Ft Lauderdale.
Mel - Enjoy that spiffy green mp3 player. My DH learned long ago to never buy me a practical present unless I specifically asked for it.
Isam - Welcome aboard. We've all been where you are. This way of eating is terrific. Like you, I've never been able to stick with anything until this. By the way, where in Texas are you. There are several of us in Texas.
See you guys later.

I'm sick- I feel like total poop. I didn't just overeat yesterday, I gorged and gorged. I ate again when I was so full and bloated!-2 Xmas dinners plus too many desserts to mention AND about 3 handfuls of Hershey kisses when I got home. I have NEVER eaten that much- not even on the Holidays. I still had 2 pounds lingering, so I'm really up today- a total of 5 pounds(feels like 10). Okay, I'm thru whining!:stress: Time to get back on track, and get remotivated- no excuses now!
I also took the tree and decorations down- I'm glad HOHO is gone!:p

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!
BOB got up this morning and hit the streets, careful to take the back roads to avoid the traffic..I headed to BED, BATH & BEYOND armed with my 20% coupon to pick myself up a BISSELL FLOOR MATE ..when I got there, there wasn't ANYONE there...I was in and out in under 10 minutes...ran into Walgreens and was out in under 5 minutes...scooted up to BEST BUY and was out of there in under 10 minutes...guess everyone either got what they wanted, or they were all at the mall!
Got the DVD working, but had to get a different remote to do it.
I've got the YA YA SISTERHOOD in right now as I'm typing..
Trish....the K-19 is about a German Submarine that carries nuclear bombs...I usually love war movies, and I absolutely love Harrison Ford, but this one just didn't do it...BUT be sure and see UNFAITHFUL....OH...MY...GAWD!!!! It was WONDERFUL!!!
JACKIE...Yes, movies are my weakness...I don't go to the movie to see anything...#1..they charge too much, and #2, I can sleep for free at home and rewind!
Sorry, I don't know anything about the Ft Lauderdale area, but I can tell you that Deb hasn't been keeping up with the board. She has been so busy getting ready for all the company..It's going to be nonstop right up until the SB Babes get there..She called me the other day and asked me to let everyone know that it's all she can do just to post a hello.
WELCOME Isam...you're in the right place alright...we're a little slow right now, but everything will pick up after the New Year starts!
MISSY ...Hope your mouth feels better today, you could always sit in front of the full length and admire your new ta ta's to take your mind off the pain!
Well, I've got to run...going to try out my new floor scrubber~!

BOB- Sorry to hear that:(
I've been up since a little after 4 this morning(stomachache,go figure!). I've done all the cleaning I plan on doing today and I've washed my hair and now I'm bored. Normally, I don't have enough time to be bored. Boogie and Ashely are now destroying the house with their new toys. I can't wait until school starts again. What is everyone doing for New Year's Eve? We're going over to some friends house and going to roast a deer hubby killed the other day. I hope the wild taste gets out of it. I'm not a big drinker, so I plan on staying sober and being the desinated driver. Hubby will be hammered long before midnight(and probably every one else). Going to buy $20 of fireworks for the kids- I hate wasting money on fireworks- your money really does go up in smoke. Well, that's it for now...

Yes, you are in the right place. This is the best place in fact. Once you get the sugar out of your system, you'll find that you don't crave it as much or even at all. This is a very easy way of eating (WOE) although starting during the holidays is quite a commitment! cleaning out your kitchen first is a really good step. If you cook for a family, you'll also find that you can adapt most recipes and they won't even notice. Ask questions, we're a very supportive group and someone (usually Deb) knows the answer.
Trish- You're right, I should keep the green one. It was so nice to get something that wasn't practical or cleaning oriented
Bob- gee, I liked K-19. I think it's the only war movie I've liked. Glad you got your dvd player working. I should go get a movie for tonite....
Missy- Sorry you feel so lousy. Seems like it's been quite a year for you. Extended-extended families can be really tough. I have a step-sister who I can't be in the same room with without santing to bash her (very small) brains in. It's created some unpleasant situations for my father also, which kills me, but I just can't tolerated her insensivity or forget the things she's said to me, my husband and children. I understand what your going through. I wish I could say that times heals all, but I know that it doesn't and sometimes you just have to seeth silently for the sake of others you love.
Jack-k: Have you tried hotels.com or travelocity or any of the other chep on-line searches for hotels? I've used several of the (hotels.com mostly) and found good rates at decent hotels.
Time to re-heat leftovers!
I just realized I've been at or below goal now for 1 year! of course, I didn't get on the scale today so I'm not positive I'm still below :o Yesterday was a bit of a blowout, to say the least.

HI Everyone!
Christmas was a non stop feast...my son in law, the chef, made us goodie baskets with truffles and cookies, and other goodies he made. I indulged... He made dinner...a fabulous beef roast, mashed potatoes with truffles in them, (yes I ate some) green bean casserole, stuffed mushrooms, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. We did not eat any desserts...I had an agave cheesecake, but no one was hungry! We had about eight kinds of gourmet cheeses out to nibble on for breakfast and lunch, and had the sausage balls for breakfast. The best present I got was the letter from my husband. ;)
My son and younger daughter gave my hubby a DVD player. Today is his birthday, and my older daughter let him pick three DVDs for his birthday present. He picked all boring guy flicks. She is a manager at Blockbuster, so I guess I can try to sweet talk her into some free rentals. I got a DVD from her friend, who manages another Blockbuster... The Importance of Being Earnest with Colin Firth. It was cute. I like comedies...
Tomorrow we head out for my mother in laws about four hours south of here. Eating OP there will be quite a challenge. I am trying to get lots of rest, but I am not sleeping well, and consequently, I feel pretty run down, and crumby. I took a nap today, and that helped some. I plan to go to bed early tonight!
 Greetings to everyone!
DEB: We watched that Shall We Dance movie a while back..it was very good! Another foreign film my hubby rented I liked was The Visitors. It was French, and pretty funny.
BOB: You need to chat movies with my hubby in Orlando! He is movie crazy. With my daughter working at Blockbuster, and her father in law a big VP for a theater company, and my son a movie buff, this family is all movie crazy!
FRUIT: What a hard situation to be in. I hope your dad understands your actions. You did have a very good excuse! If you did not feel well, it is awful hard to deal with people you can't stand even when you feel good! ;) Hope your recovery goes fast! The ulcers may be from a breathing tube from surgery. My husband had a problem with that after he had nasal surgery. Hope it heals fast!

TIGER: The little pictures under the names are called avatars. You can pick from a bunch of them at your control panel page. The system will even let you upload your own, but it has to be a rather small file. I think you can find avatars on other web sites as well. Senior members are those who have posted more than 100 posts, I think. Junior members are under 100 posts.

Hi y'all. Just checking in after three days of Christmas dinners here and there. You can imagine what that's done for me. I haven't even stepped on the scale in two weeks. I'm afraid what I'll find. My clothes tell me that the pounds are back up but I don't want to see it in numbers. Back on the wagon tomorrow. I enjoyed every bite, but it's time to jump back on. Hope I can get back in the groove eating and checking in with y'all.

Hey Everyone!
How are you all today? I am starting to feel better. I went to the doctor today and he told me basically that I have a virus in my mouth that has broken out due to stress! :yikes:
He said that he couldn't give a cartizone (sp?) shot due to the fact that I'm healing from my surgery last week and he didn't want to interefere with any of that. So, I've got this mixture of 3 meds to gargle. Actually, I have done it twice today and it is starting to feel better already. I have the joy of doing it 4 times a day. Hey - whatever works I guess!
Well, sorry I'm not writing to everyone tonight - I've got to get to bed - early dr. appointment in New Orleans tomorrow to get stitches out of the ta tas!:dancer:
I'll write more tomorrow!
Love you ladies!!

Hi everybody! Glad to see most everyone had a nice Christmas. I didn't do well with eating either, so it is nice to see at least I am not alone.
I have been reading through my SB book, but now that I see Deb found the new one, I will have to trot over to BAMM in the morning to see what I can find. Our library is awful with health/weight loss books, so I know it won't be there.
Thanks for the vegetarian info. I have lived vegetarian once before, and it looks like I am doing it again. I had a bad chicken leg quarter experience a couple of weeks ago and I am having a hard time stomaching meat. I did eat turkey yesterday and I did fine, so we'll see what happens. I would prefer being a vegetarian if I can incorporate it with SB.
My Christmas was nice, we opened presents on Christmas Eve night, and had dinner with my family on Christmas Day. The time was cut short though due to snowy weather, because my sister Amy lives about an hour away from our parents. It wasn't a good day for interstates and bridges.
BOB, I got a DVD player too! We haven't hooked it up yet, but plan to this weekend. I also have to take my tree down so I can get my Gazelle built and in place. I've had it for a while but nowhere to put it. We will be dumping a chair for the space.
I promise to be more active in the future. I managed for the first time in probably 10 years to get the week of Christmas off at work. I've spent tons of time with my son (Cody) and have been at the computer very little. You will usually only see me late at night anyway. I don't normally get online until he has gone to bed at night.
Good luck getting back on plan, everybody! I got rid of the sweets today, so tomorrow should be good for me.

It's late, but this is the first chance I've had to visit the board this week.
I hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Christmas!
I've been on the road most of the last six days. Let's see--Auburn to Wilmington on Sat. Round trip Wilmington to Kinston on Sunday. Home all day Monday. Wilmington to Kinston on Tuesday. Kinston to Wilmington on Wed. Roundtrip Wilmington to Kinston today (dad forgot his shaving kit so we had to drive up and get it). Tomorrow, I'm promised that I don't have to drive anywhere, but Saturday I'll probably head back to Kinston to spend a couple of days with the nieces.
Christmas was hectic, but nice. My SIL and I were up until almost 4am getting Sanata Clause ready--fortunatly my nieces like to sleep late, even on Christmas morning, so they didn't get up until about 10:30 am.
I got a bread machine from Santa so that I can make true WW breads , rolls, and pizze dough. Other than that favorite gifts were a diamond and sapphire bracelet from my brother and SIL (relax--it was Dillards loss leader for the day after Thanksgiving--only 30 bucks--but really pretty, and sapphire is my birthstone) In fact everyone was jealous because my SIL and I had the biggest piles of gifts--solely because when we do our marathon shopping trip on the day after thanksgiving, if one if us picks up something we like the other one buys it for her--heheheheh--that's how I got the bracelet! Those lazy bones that stay in bed lose out!
And here is the big news---IFINISHED the stocking!!!!!!!:cb: It only took three years, but I finished it! Got it sewn together in time for Santa to put Dad's presents in it on Christmas eve.
OK enough about me.
Deb--sounds like the yard sale went well--I'm all for getting the junk out of the house! It's also really neat about your sister's camera! I hope she can get it back.
BOB--so sorry to hear that your trip got canceled--but it sounds like you will be in movie heaven! When does UT play? Both my teams play new years day--I'm apparently going to have to eat my black-eyed peas really early in the morning as one gane is at 11:00 and the other at 12:30.
Missy--you go girl! I hope you get all healed up soon. I know several people that have had breat reductions and say it is the best thing they have ever done.
Heart---what time should be bring the sleigh around? I, too, have not been--err, at my best this week. The holidays were the hardest for me this year than they have ever been, but I'm now resorting to violence if the sugar pushers dont' leave me alone.
Monet--I want to come to your house for dinner! Yum! I'd also like to borrow your husband and son in law for a weekend (apparently I'll need hubby to lean up after SIL!)
Jennifer--Welcome! I was in Barnes and Noble today looking at the new book, I almost bought it and then decided to wait a week to see if it hits the best seller list making it a lot cheaper. it supposedly has 18 new chapters. Deb will give us the low down!
tigerlily--Welcome to you too! No time like the present. You'll be an old hand by next week when we will get the influx of new years resolutions--so jump in while you can!
Mel,Gracious, Country, SOLShine, Rosalie, Gator (Where are you Gator?), Beth, MusicTeach, Darious,SEF, Quilter, and Everyone, I hope your Christmas was a blessing.
Love to you ALL

Hi y'all. Trying to get back checking in every day. Maybe that will help me stay away from all the goodies left around the house. It's that @#%&* chocolate that gets me. We had a great Christmas. Spent Christmas Eve with Dennis' family in Dallas at his sister's. Got home way too late Tuesday night. We still had presents to wrap and had to play Santa. The kids were up early Christmas morning, of course. They were happy with all their gifts. It was exciting to watch them open them up. None of Sarah's clothes fit, of course. We went today and exchanged them and she's happy now. :) We spent the day yesterday at my mom's with my sister and her family and my brother. It was so nice. My mom is feeling good and cooked all of the meal. The only thing I did to help was to cut up the fruit for the salad. We're very thankful that she is doing so well. She got rollerblades for James and Sarah so they are outside skating now. It's finally beautiful here today and good to be outside.
FRUIT: Sorry to hear you've had so much trouble with your mouth after your surgery.
TIGER: Welcome. Don't think I've had a chance to say that yet. :D
LSAM: Welcome to you too. :D
Gotta run. Maggie got a new dollhouse for Christmas and I have to go be the baby. :)

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!
Ole BOB stopped by Blockbuster today to return that movie that I got two of and replaced it with BLOOD WORK ...Clint Eastwoods new one.
Also picked up GONE WITH THE WIND as a purchase with one of my gift cards...it's amazing...when that movie came out on VHS, the set was $100....I got this for $21.95
Jennifer...glad to have you with us...we're a rowdy bunch, so join right in! I'm loving my DVD...just have to figure out how to have my VHS too so I can tape my usual shows..
I love your little city...my Nephew played four years of football at
ETSU , so I'm very familiar with the area...also was originally from Middlesboro, Ky and came that way on a lot of band competitions...especially the big one in Bristol!
FILLISE...Glad you're home, but you're still on the road! How did Belle do this time? My game is New Years eve at 8pm...Not sure about Maryland...but I guess we'll see what happens! I've actually given someone FLA and 6....keep your fingers crossed
that I win that one!!!
FRUIT...keep us updated on the ta ta
progress...glad to hear you got some meds for the mouth!!
Hello to DH...

Good Evening All:wave:
Finally had to take the initiative and throw Michael off the compter otherwise I'll never get on here to make a post and I'm having withdrawls already!:yikes:
Was going to stay home and clean today but my sister invited me to go out and up to Broward with her since she only had 2 of the kids she had to take, so Lauren and I went out for a few hours with her and just got home.
Didn't get in my walk today, legs were achey for some reason, but I did go out yesterday and do my 4.5 usual miles in 51:45. I feel like I'm going so slow, esp. when I have to run against the wind, it's not easy.
Eating has been perfect and even last night at my cousins house I stayed OP. Even with all the goodies she had for dessert, I didn't touch a thing, not even this carrot ring my Aunt makes that I absolutely adore, though I did cut a piece and wrap it in foil and stick it in my freezer for a later date:^: Woke up to find the scale at 128.5, which brought a smile to my face. Now, just to get through New Years Day, once I break through that barrier, which I know won't be a problem, I'm staying on track until ORLANDO!
Speaking of which, I can't believe it's just 2 weeks away now - as it gets closer I hope those of you who are coming are getting more excited and those of you who aren't will be dying with anticipation to hear about it all as we get back to our computers to tell ALL!
FRUIT, as BOB said, it's probably bloating from all the IV liquids. I'm sure you'll be down on the scale, though now probably moreso from your mouth - owieeee! Doesn't sound pleasant. I take it DH isn't doing any French kissing these days;) Hmm, I don't know how I'd handle the situation you have with your family. I'm the type of person that, depending on the circumstance, will try to make things better for sake of family. BUT, if I give you a chance and you screw up again, forget it. I had a friend who continually, through the years, would hang up on me if she didn't like something not going her way. After a 35 year friendship, she did this last Thanksgiving once again and that was it. I'd had enough, I'm getting too old to be playing these stupid games with her. I know, in my heart, I did absolutely nothing wrong (she got pissed that ELI didn't bring some coffee home for her boss-how petty!). After almost an entire year she sent me a bday card, had I realized who'd sent it I wouldn't of even openend it, but I had. She asked me to call her. She knows my number, if she had something to say to me, she could of called, but just the same I would of told her that our friendship was over. I know she reads this board, so I have never spoken about it, or her, but at this point, I really don't care either way. Just mentioned it because of what you were going through. I'd probably go and just totally ignore whoever was on my :censored: list. I think that would bother the person more than anything else! You surely can't do this every year, it doesn't help the situation at all, just worsens it for everyone. I guess in a way, everyone is being punished by this situation. You have to handle it only as you see fit, and comfortable.
SERENE, if we knew why we self-sabotaged ourselves then we'd probably not be doing it. I think when we eat the crappy junk it does make us feel good, as the text books say. But, it's when we come crashing down from that sugar high, just as a drug addict comes down from their high, it's either feel so miserable if we don't have more, or eat more junk to get back that "high" feeling. I don't think there's a drug out there that could make me feel as good as junk food does. When I go in to a feeding frenzy I swear it must be something link a heroin junkie feels-it's euphoric to me! You'll get back on track, if not before Orlando, surely after I kick your *** before you leave to go home!!!!!;)
BETH, I remember when I went to see NANCE in California, she had a part pit dog named Floyd who I was a bit aprehensive about since he was part pit, but like Roxey, he was all tongue, a very loveable dog. I guess it does make a big difference on how the dogs are brought up, but I didn't think that if they were fighting dogs and had puppys, that the puppys, never being trained to fight, would have it in them to do so instinctively. I love dogs, but the mean ones, pits, rots, etc., I don't care for due to their reputations. Down here you only hear of what happens when there's trouble with that breed and unfortunately, down here, we do have a lot of problems, esp. with people training them to fight. It's like cock fights down here-the Latins just love that crap!
MEL, good for you to get to the gym. I'm hoping to get in a longer run sometime next week. I swear, it doesn't seem to be getting any easier for me lately, but harder. As long as I make it in the time alloted, that's all I care about at this point. You'll be sipping pina coladas at the finish line waiting for me to arrive! Bum knee or not, you'll be whizzing by me like Mercury! Neon puke, see, he WAS thinking for once, he did that exactly for the reason you thought, so no one else would want it!!! LOL!!!
BOB, hope you got that new DVD up and working. My movie nights don't look anything like yours! Here's what I've seen lately...
THE SHOWER (Japanese)
THE CLOSET (French)
THE ROAD HOME (Japanese)
EVERYBODY'S FAMOUS (Dutch)
LIFE ACCORDING TO MURIEL (Spanish)
KIKIJURO (Japanese)
Got them all from the library. Some are good, others just okay. Would eventually like to get the VCR/DVD player. Mad that I didn't buy them the day after Xmas when I saw them for $99.
TRISH, heck with the wagon, you're going to be hoping on a big jumbo jet and coming to the Detox Dungeon. Is you room ready, you asked? LOL!!!! You think you're coming to stay in a room with the way you've been behaving??? :nono: I have other ideas in mind.....:s: Sorry about the bday mix-up, I could of sworn it was today. At least I wasn't too far off. What's your plans for tomorrow???
COUNTRY, don't fret, I too weigh more than I did the same time last year. Don't worry, you'll get back on track after things settle back down. I think sometimes it's the stress, as well as the joy, that makes our minds go haywire and want to eat certain things we KNOW we should be eating.
JACKK, sorry, I did miss that post from last week. Hmmm, I'm not really too familiar with the hotels in that area. I'm sure there's something around I-95 in the area, just not too sure what the rates are. When we head up to Orlando, I'm sure we'll make a pitstop or two along the Turnpike, and they have some coupon books for area hotels and I'll pick up what I can and see what's in the area and let you know. Just remind me if I don't mention it after we get back and settled in.
ISAM http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign2.jpg Glad you're joining us, and I'm sure the Texas gals are cheering that another Texas Rose has joined the crowd! We have 2 of the gals from Texas coming in for our SB GET TOGETHER in 2 weeks. As for this WOE, don't hesitate to ask questions, we're all more than happy to help try and throw out our 2 cents. As to why you can follow through with other things in your life, but not weight loss, that's something only we can speculate on, it's really up to you to find the answer. I think if you can dig deep and come up with it, you'll be very successful in losing weight, as you have been in other aspects of your life. We're here to support you. You just have to decide if you want it bad enough, more so than anything you'd want to eat that was off plan, if so, it can be yours!!!! GOOD LUCK!:D
MONET, never heard of The Visitors, will have to ask Michael, he knows a lot of the foreign films, and is the reason we started watching them. Do you need me to pick you up any agave before Orlando-if so, LMK!
MUSIC, as you can see, many have fallen off the wagon, many been run over by the same wagon, some being dragged behind for days on end. Like everyone else, you'll be back on track, for sure!!!
JEN, if your library doesn't have the book yet, just wait, they'll be bound to get it shortly. I have only gotten in to it a little, but so far, nothing sticks out that says to me to go buy the new version. When you eat vegetarian, do you not eat any animal products, or do you just not eat beef and chicken, but possibly fish? If you eat dairy and eggs, lacto-ovo, as my son, it's a lot easier to do SB. I have a wonderful recipe for a crustless spinach quiche on the recipe board that everyone loves and is totally SB LEGAL. Beans too are a great thing to cook with and there's quite a few recipes with beans on the boards as well. Have something in mind, just let me know and I'll see if I can fill the recipe void. How far do you and Suzanne live from each other? Great going that you were able to get off from work and spend some quality time with Cody!
FILLISE, sounds like you cleaned up for Xmas. I love the idea of a breadmaker, but I know I'd never use it after the first time, just another big thing to find a place for. I see so many at garage sales and just pass them up because I know me. Now, if there was a machine that made great chocolate bars, that's a horse of a different color.
Whoa, I think I've caught up, at least for now. If I missed anyone, please know, it wasn't intentional at all.
Will try to check in later tonight.

WOW! No one on the board after me?!? It's 3:30am and I'm up, not happy about it though. Blame it on ELI! He's already off to work. Been up since 2:30am, want to go back to sleep but doesn't seem like I can.
Cousin is coming in today, early evening, house is still a major wreck-I do stuff, but you'd never know. Big thing is, he's a neat freak-too bad, he'll have to take my house as it is, beggars can go sleep at a hotel:lol: Hopefully I'll make a big dent today. If I can't fall back asleep in an hour then I'll just resign to the fact that this is a omen of sorts, to start cleaning earlier!

Good Saurday morning.
Well Thursday I reported I had a legal breakfast. It was down hill after that. Yesterday Dh and I took the car to get the oil changed and we walked to a Shoney's for breakfast. I had th buffet and eggs and bacon just didn't justify the $5.99. So I blew it again. The bag of hips that we had a christmas (jumbo bag of course) has been yelling my name since Wed. I fiished them up yesterday thank goodness. I have not had any sugar, just junk. I never realized how hard it is to get back on track. Told DH Monday was "D" day. Nothing past my lips and exercisng to the hilt. Now I have to get thru New Year's eve. going to a friend's house for a party. My jeans are already getting tighter. All you newcomers. one piece of advise. Don't cheat, never cheat. It's too hard to get back OP.
Didn't take notes as I read this morning so forgive me for not posting to everyone. I have CRS (can't remember s**t).
Deb, I'm sure your house is spotless. Thanks for offering to pickup a coupon book. Airfares are back up today. Should have made them last week when they were down. wil have to keep watching.
Bob, Hope you are watching the UK-UL game today. Gotta to pull for those CATS. We better win. I have to many UL fans that have been running their mouths. I don't care if we lose every game except for this one. Cheer them on.
Fruite, Hope your mouth is better. Keep gargling.
ISAM, Welcome. This is a great board and a great group of ladies and Daramus too. Ask any questions you have. Someone will answer you.
Monet, get some rest.
Heartmom, Hang in there. You are not alone. All will be better soon. I think I will start taking down my Christmas stuff today too.
Mel, I'm gonna have to get with you when we get our gym set up to get some ideas on routines. It comes will a chart. I like doing 1 body part a day. Need your advise.
To anyone else I missed, Hi! Have a great day.

Was in the low 40's this morning, but supposed to be in the 30's
tomorrow morning...Going to a HUGE YARD SALE in the a.m. that DEBBIE would kill to be at...it's all outside (at the city arena-fair grounds) and starts at 8 a.m. Will have to bundle up for that one.
My friend is picking me up a 7:30 so we can stop at STARBUCKS for a LARGE cup of java before heading out...I'll let you all know how it went...
I'm using my new FLOOR MATE today and doing all the floors in the house...since I have terrazo through out, it will be a chore...
JACKIE...yes, the CATS will be on the tube at noon...Article in the paper yesterday quoting "RICK" that
he doesn't think the fans in L'ville are as agressive as the ones in Lexington...we'll see!
Hello to everyone...gotta go and get to work...

LOL loved the miss print Jack-K...bag of hips..that's what chips do to us isn't it...straight to the tummy and hips. I tell ya...I am struggling mentally with this extra weight. I literally sat in the bathroom and cried. I can not and will not keep going in the wrong direction. It was way to hard to get to this place. I can't believe it will be 2 years in April...I think...I should have written my start date down. But I never in a million years thought I would get this far. The eating was good yesterday...and the 3 mile walk tape had me sweating but not panting. So all in all a good day. I know since my weight gain is fat and not water it's gonna be harder to lose....ugh....I swore I would never do this to myself again. Gotta get it off. God was my focus when I started so I am putting him in control again.....
Bob....that garage sales sounds wonderful. I love big ones where you can get lost at all the tables.
Deb....Your cousin should be visiting you and NOT your house. Relax and enjoy each other. I hope you were able to get some sleep after you posted last night.
Today is off to a good start. Just a couple of bites of toast and some coffee. I am not a eater in the mornings. I'm hoping to get to the store today and stock up on some free munchies like cauliflower and tomatos. That way I will always have something healthy here to choose from. Pickings are slim to none right now.
Be blessed and be encourage those of you who are struggling during this holiday season. We'll all get a grip and get back OP...pick this moment and go with it. You are each loved and of value. Thanks for your encouragement and commments that keep me going when the going gets tough.
Love,
Crystle

HiedieHo All!
Hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas. SAnta was very good to me with gift certificates, jewelry, a book of inspirations from my DIL's DM that has an article submitted by her about when her DS was five and had a rare kidney condition, the SCRABBLE game (also Boggle on it) for the computer and Jeopardy game also, family pics, SF candy and Hawaiian coffe and macadamia nuts.
Have not been on the Board as family has been here since Monday before Christmas. We went to the Magic Casino for Christma Eve dinner. I was not good! Have not been all week! A friend gave us a homemade rum cake and DIL mad red velvet cake. both seem to be no-nos but that deter me!
Family has left so things should get back to normal.
TRISH: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
JENNIFER & TIGER: Welcome.
BETH: AWWWWWWWWWW! He's so cute!! Love dogs!
DEB: Sounds like your garage sale went okay. I have not been good!
FRUIT: My DIL had breast reduction surgery the day after Christmas last year. She has been so happy that she had it done. Feels better and looks normal, clothes are easier to buy. Hope your recuperation is easy, hers was.
ISAM: Welcome! Brave soul to start a new wor this time of year. I don't think I could.
FILLISE: You finished it! Great!

A priest wanted to raise money for his church and on being told there was a fortune in horse racing, decided to purchase one and enter it in the races. However, at the local auction, the going price for a horse was so high that he ended up buying a donkey instead. He figured that since he had it, he might as well go ahead and enter it in the races.
To his surprise, the donkey came in third. The next day the local paper carried this headline: PRIEST'S *** SHOWS.
The priest was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again, and this time it won. The local paper read: PASTOR'S *** OUT FRONT.
The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the priest not to enter the donkey in another race. The next day, the local paper headline read: BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ***.
This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the priest to get rid of the donkey. The priest decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent.
The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the next day: NUN HAS BEST *** IN TOWN.
The Bishop fainted. He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey, so she sold it to a farmer for ten dollars. The next day, the paper read: NUN SELLS *** FOR $10.
This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild. The next day the headlines read: NUN ANNOUNCES HER *** IS WILD AND FREE.
If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love to my family, I'm just another decorator.
If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love to my family, I'm just another cook.
If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family, it profits me nothing.
If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the choir's cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point.

Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband.

Love doesn't envy another's home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.
Love doesn't yell at the kids to get out of the way.
Love doesn't give only to those who are able to give in return but rejoices in giving to those who can't.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. _Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost, golf clubs will rust. _But giving the gift of Love will endure.

Hi,
I received the new Sugar Buster’s book from Amazon yesterday. I haven’t had much time to look through it but I
did notice some of the restaurant menus looked very good. One of the recipes for salmon looks complicated but the
good news is the restaurant is in Dallas. It would be wonderful to try it there.
I started being very strict with myself the day after Christmas. I think I told you I feel that I stay on program but I
seem to be picking up a few pounds. Now, I am recording everything in my DietPower program and staying “on
task”. I saw the note from BOB to Tiger about the sugarfree candy and have cut that out as my after dinner treat.
It isn’t easy since they as so good. I am happy to report that my good work has already paid off and I am down 3
pounds from Christmas. Now, I know that some of it is water weight but, hey, it is better to be going down than
adding on more ”water weight”.
I did get to see an ENT physician after Christmas about my distortion of smell thing and he sent me over for a cat
scan to rule out a tumor. He is talking about putting me on Cortisone and I am not sure I want that. I understand
that it may cause hunger, weight gain and irritability. Does anyone know about it? I am suppose to talk to him on
Monday afternoon about the test results and treatment.
Deb: I am with you when it comes to deciding whether to clean house or to play. I choose doing something fun
every time. As BOB said, people come to visit you and not your house. Now what is this about staying on program
“until” Orlando. I am counting on you to set such a good example for us. (Really just kidding you because I am
sure you will as always be an inspiration.)
Country Mom: Your talk about crying when the weight is going in the wrong direction really touched my heart. I
have so been there. I am also trying to fight this problem. It sounds, however, that you already have your act
together and are on the right road again.
Jack-K: I am always afraid of making a typo and don’t usually comment on them but the hip instead of chip was
cute because it was so on target.
A very big welcome to Jennifer, Tiger and Isam!
Happy Birthday to Trish!
Hope everyone has a great day.

We just got in from our visit to the Mother In Law's. I did fairly well on food. I passed up the desserts, but I did indulge in a bit of of the chocolates someone sent her. I did not eat any of the twice baked potatoes, either, and did not touch the cornbread either. I was pretty pleased with myself. I did snack some on the roasted pecans..but they were essentially legal. Just not the amount, I am sure! I felt much better getting back to eating better, and so I passed up fast food on the way home in favor of a plain sandwich from Arby's Fresh Market.
DEB: Thanks for the offer on the agave, but I have two 12 pound tubs I got from St. Pats... In fact, if any one wants some cheap, (I paid only $1.75 a pound for it) I would be happy to bring some with me. That makes those 12 ounce jars less than $2 each. :)
Well, the unpacking awaits...

Evenin! This has been a really long day. Phone rings at 7AM and it is the furniture store saying they will deliver our coffee table at noon. Hey, thanks for letting me know this at dawn on a Saturday morning! Then Cody and I got haircuts (Deb, my hair was similar to yours, but as of a couple of weeks ago, it is two inches long all over) and then we went to the movies to see Pinnochio. I didn't know it was an Italian film that was dubbed in English. I spent the first 15 minutes irritable because the audio was off track. D'oh! I still probably wouldn't have noticed, but my husband explained it to me when I got whiney. He's from Holland and he has seen tons of dubbed tv, but I just didn't think about it! Then the rest of the day was errands and grocery shopping. We were so late getting home from the grocery store, we had to call a restaurant and order dinner.
I bought the SB book last night. It was 30 percent off at Books A Million for being on the best seller list, plus another 10 percent off to discount cards, so I think I paid 14 bucks or so. I haven't started reading it, but plan to do so in a few minutes, with my feet resting on my new coffee table. You don't know how excited I am to have one. This is my first in 9 years. I got rid of my last one when Cody started to crawl and just never replaced it.
BOB, I am about 4 blocks from ETSU. I live in the neighborhood with the fraternity houses. Never a dull moment! I love it here. No two houses are alike and we have sidewalks, unlike most of the city. Do you ever come this way?
Debbie, I do eat cheese, milk, etc. I will look for the quiche recipe, thanks!
Ok, it is off to my couch with my new book and new table. Now watch, I'll fall asleep as soon as I get comfy!

Good Morning everyone!
Had a busy couple of days but tried to stay on plan as much as I could. For some reason I am up again to 251! What the **** is that? I really haven't been over eating at all - actually I'm eating less than I would normally - no snacks, etc.! I was so pissed today! I was down to 246.5 just a few days ago! I hope it's fluid and I will pee it all out today!:D
Been running the roads in New Orleans the last 2 days. Friday - hubby and I went to the doctor for them to take my stitches out and then we shopped. I'm hoping that he can think of what he wants for his "big present" for Christmas - you know - before NEXT Christmas! So, we looked around but he didn't find anything that he is just dying to have.
Yesterday we took my niece to my friend's recording studio and he set her up with a song that he had started writing. We finished up the lyrics and by 6 o'clock last night we had a rough draft cd of her singin the song. It was so fun. She is only 15 and she had never had the opportunity to sing anything like that. She mostly does church/choir stuff. She has been taking voice lessons for 10 years and sings beautifully! SO, I called my friend and asked him for the favor - well, lemme tell ya - he came through in full force - it sounds great! I'll let you know when to listen for it on the radio! HAHA!
Today I'm going to grade some papers (gotta have hurricane makeup days this Thurs & Friday) I missed the last 4 days of school before the holidays with my surgery so I had work sent home to me! Isn't that horrible? haha! After that - I'm doing a scrapbook for my friend that just got married of all of her pre wedding parties and the wedding. So, I'm gonna get started scrapbooking that stuff!
I hope all of you have a wonderful day - I'll check back in soon!

Good Sunday Morning:wave:
What a gorgeous day in SOFLA! I only hope it's this nice come our SB WEEKEND GET TOGETHER, though I can do without the darn wind! Did get out and do my 4.5 miles. Took me 50:40, better than I thought but sure as heck a lot slower than I was at this time last year. Thank goodness I won't be the only one walking at the WDM!
GOT IN OUR TEAM SUGAR BUSTERS T-SHIRTS YESTERDAY!!!! They came out nice and seem to be of nice quality. We will definitely be well represented in O-TOWN and if, by chance, we get discovered via media, we sure won't be missed! I can't believe how fast they arrived, I just put in the order on Dec. 23rd!
Got a small repreive, my cousin stayed at my Grandparent's house last night. House is still a wreck, but not as bad, but there's still stuff lying around and piles of things that need to be put away, like stuff in the kitchen to go in to the shed. My bedroom is a disaster, esp. by my walk-in closet which needs some heavy duty maintenance. Once it's done it will be great, but until then... Like you all said, he's coming to visit me, if he doesn't like it, let him stay at my Grandparent's:s:
My Great-Great Aunt is in the hospital. She's going to be 96 years old in February. She had a blocked liver duct and turned a bright yellow. I took the kids to see her yesterday and was told she was better. If what I saw was better, I just can't fathom what worse looked like because she was really a bright yellow. My DM told me that if I had seen her before I wouldn't believe it. She said if there had been a stick to stick up her butt you'd of mistaken her for a sunflower. Unfortunately, I've come to find out that she has a tumor on her liver and things don't look good. I don't think she knows this though and I'm not telling the kids. Hope whatever time she does have left will be good. She's always been a spry woman and could run circles around any of us.
ELI is off today and we're going up to Broward-like there's some place else you'd thought we'd go to??? He's going to church first though. I have some places to stop along the way and luckily many are in the same center up there. Have to get ready for New Years Day. I think we'll have about 2 dozen people coming over. THEN it's get ready for O-Town!
ELI gave me tickets for Xmas to go see THE FULL MONTY when it comes to the Jackie Gleason Theatre. I loved the movie, hopefully the musical will be just as good if not better. He knew I wanted to go see this but I didn't want to spend that much money on going to see it. Tickets were $55 plus this ridiculous service charge. I gave him a bunch of little things, one is that FLIP N FOLD that helps fold T-shirts - everyone in the house is using it now-love it!
Scale is up for me today but I'm not fretting, it's mid-cycle for me tomorrow and the scale usually goes up at this time. I should of known it by my eating yesterday. I ate way too much fat in the way of nuts and cheese. There was nothing to satisfy my hunger yesterday, but luckily, it was all OP:D
JACKK, I second your bit of advice on not cheating! LOL! Trust me girlfriend, this house is faaarrrrr from being spotless, or anything remotely looking as such. I am not a clean fanatic and esp. with the kids not helping to keep things clean, even after I've just cleaned something and they know it, I tend to throw my hands up and just say "screw it!." It will be a bit better come Wednesday and hopefully a lot better by the time ROSE, MELF & TRISH arrive at the DD!
BOB, dying to hear what you found at that big garage sale. Sure wish I could of gone with you, there was not a single one in my area this weekend. Glad I didn't have mine this weekend, it would of been dead! Glad to hear you are liking your floormate, my DS loves hers.
COUNTRY, oh boy, have I been were you are in the past. Thank goodness you are catching yourself now and not 10 pounds or more down the road. You'll get back on track and it seems you are on it now. The one time I lost weight on a WOE before SB I too swore I would never gain it back and found myself up to 194 in no time. Finally that light bulb came back on. Thankfully, you won't get to that point and are doing something now, not later.
SEF, glad to see your post and to hear you had a good Xmas. Don't worry, you'll get back on track-none of us have been that good on SB lately-so you're in good company. A new SCRABBLE GAME? Woo hoo! Lauren got a new Scrabble game, I think it's Scrabble Upwords, or something like that. We now have 3 different Scrabble games. Thanks for posting those FF!
ROSE, glad to see your eating is back on track and the pounds are melting away once again. I really don't think anyone should be eating the SF chocolates. Why do so when you can eat the really good stuff-what do you gain from eating the SF stuff? Oh good, so if my house isn't up to par when you arrive, you'll understand it was because I was having more fun than anyone should ever have! Ummmm, well, about staying OP til Orlando. We ARE going to Carrabas and I LOVEEEE their calamari which is not SB LEGAL due to the flour, but I am planning on having some anyhow AND I just MAY indulge in a piece of tiramisu. Of course, I'm willing to share:s: THEN, we have SB legal goodies that will be lying around the hotel room. I mean, I won't be going hog crazy, but....
MONET, sounds like you did well. I say, if those chocolates were something you can't get normally and probably won't be seeing again, and you didn't go hog wild, then don't worry about it. I'm sure you'll be back on track ASAP. Sounds like you and I have a good stock of agave going on-I sure don't need any for a few years, which, at that time, I hope the price will be down.
JENN, geez, furniture stores sure do call people up early! Enjoy the new coffee table! I went to see Pinnochio with Lauren and Eli on Xmas day. I didn't know it was dubbed either and actually didn't like it at all. I'm sure it would of been a lot better with English subtitles. I don't mind reading subtitles in foreign films, but hate things dubbed-wish I would of known. Cool beans about getting the new SB book at a great discount. I like BOOKS-A-MILLION. We have one at the Sawgrass Mills Outlet mall, though I tend to buy my books on line.
FRUIT, I'm sure you're just retaining water and it will take a little while for your body to get rid of it. I'm sure your body is in some sort of shock from the surgery still. Sounds like you and your niece had fun at the studio. MICHAEL has been looking for a studio to do some recording but it's so expensive down here. He's having to resort to working with what we have on the computer.
Well, I'm outta here. Going to try and get a few things done in the kitchen and bedroom before getting in the shower and to be ready in time so when ELI comes home I'll be ready.
Have a wonderful Sunday and I'll see you all on the new weekly board tomorrow if I don't have a chance to hop back on tonight.

Still here- sitting at the computer with my pants unbuttoned, ugh! I know you guys are probably sick and tired of me complaining about the after effects of all the eating off plan I've been doing. The scale is 216 today! I totally blew it again. And when I cheat, I really cheat. Had Wendy's for lunch and KFC for supper and then a bananasplit!!!!!!! This morning I am up another 2 from yesterday for a total of 4 pounds. When will this ever stop?! It seems I would see what is going on and NEVER do it again...it seems. So here I am, back to the drawing board and drinking lots of water(sigh). We're suppossed to have a New Year's Eve party at some friends house. There will be lots of temptations, ugh. I know we are having hamburgers and hotdogs. I bought me some wheat buns, I think I will bring my own for me and bring my own triscuits in place of the chips. I know that's still alot of starchy carbs for 1 meal, but it's better than regular bread and chips, right? I just don't think I can continue on this way. It's so depressing plus I don't want to gain anymore, I want to loose! Okay, I'm thru wallowing in self pity.

BOB's back from the giant yard sale,
or should I say JUNK SALE???? It was a field of CRAP!! DEBBIE,
even you would have turned your nose up at this one. The poor people had to pay $30 for a 12x12 space..hope they get their money back in sales! We left after just a little while there.
Went to breakfast and then home..I've got laundry to do, and finish my house cleaning...My floors are squeeky clean..I absolutely love my new machine..
Not much to report here...I'm going to try to get to WALMART after while and hope that the lines are down some..have some returns to do.
JENNIFER..I haven't been to JC since Jeff graduated. Since I'm living in FLA now, the closest I get is Travelers Rest S.C. and maybe I-40 going to Ky for a visit..I see family down here more when they come to their place in Naples, so trips to KY are fewer and fewer..If I ever do get up that way, I will surely let you know and maybe we can meet for lunch or something?
I'm off to get started so I'll check in later..

Morning! I was brave enough to hop on the scale to see if there was any damage...up about 4 pounds. Not bad, since I can gain ten pounds of water in a day. I am sure it will be back down in no time.
YELLOW: I have taken Cortisone in the form of Prednisone. It can be very helpful, but not something you want to do long term. Ask your doctor how long he is thinking of keeping you on it. Everyone reacts differently. Some people get euphoric on it, others depressed, and then there are those who feel DOOM. I am a doom one. I took it for the swelling in my throat when I had mono, and it gave me anxiety attacks. I was afraid to go to sleep and had to take an anti-anxiety drug to combat it until they could get me off it. You can't just stop taking it, you have to go off it slowly. I have a friend who takes it for severe arthritis. She wanted off, got weaned off it, and within days was in so much pain she went right back on it! It can be helpful. If it were me, I would give it a try at least... Just my opinion...
HEART: Hey, we have all been where you are...some of us are sitting right next to you on the roller coaster of on and off program eating. Don't beat yourself up. Just love yourself enough to eat the things that are good for you. Remember how good you feel when you eat right, and how bad you feel when you don't. You deserve better, and your kids need a mom who is healthy and happy! Hop on the wagon! You are gonna have a LOT of company! :) I'll save you a seat next to me!

HiedieHo All!!
When will I ever learn! Just finished up the mintues for the HFH meeting on 12/12. By now I can barely decipher my note scribbles and it takes me twice as long. I have to do them within a day a two to be sure I get it right! This time I blamed the holidays, what do I blame other times?!?
FRUIT: Families! Sometimes I'd like to shoot them. Not the ones I live with. Over the years my sister caused so many problems within our family, she actually caused split between all of us. Then one day I realized she was playing us against each other. Thank God I did as it brought my father, brother and I together again. I have tried to forgive her but it is hard. I try always to remember she is my sister. Finally through the years we do talk and things are "cordial", I visited her on my trip, but we will never be close again. She is close to my DD and in the early years she played on that. If my DD had to make a choice I am sure I would lose! I think you have to do what you want. I'm sure the people who matter and know the situation will not judge you harshly. Because your father obviously missed you doesn't mean he thinks the less of you. Hope your mouth is better, it must be miserable. At least you can fight off this time of year food temptations!! What a great gift for you niece!
DEB: Like you I had a friend for almost 50 years (I know....yours wasn't that old!!) and as long as things went her way we were fine. The last slap I just couldn't take. I'm too old for games too! Prayers for you Aunt. To reach her age she had to have some good genes and fortitude. That will carry her now.
MONET: You still need your rest and relaxation. We forget we really aren't SUPERWOMEN!!!
YELLOW: At one point I was on Predisone and the one side effect I remember was the weight gain. My face looked like a huge sofe round pillow! But the results of the medication in the end was worth it. Have you seen Jerry Lewis lately? He's on Predisone and is a blimp, but it's saving his life. I was on it for two years as I was given massive doses in beginning and it takes a lone time to be weaned off it!
Okay, sat here to decipher and type minutes. Then read Board and typed this, time to move!
Terrible thing, getting old. Who was it that said she loved Scrabble and had it on computer? Monet? Soon as I install it we'll have to have a game. BOB, I know yu were the other person that liked Scrabble, who was it that told us about the software from WAl*Mart? C'mon you're younger than me, you should remember!

Hi, just checking in after another pig-fest at my brother's. Did ok until the chocolate truffles and wine appeared. UGH! It's a good thing I'm doing so much running to get ready for WDW this holiday season. I'm up 1 pound, but by what I've been eating it should be 10!
Yellow- I took cortisone in the form of prednisone too, for severe asthma and a collapsed lung may years ago. It was a nightmare, but I thinj it probably save my life. I had no anxiety problems with it, but I was always hungry and would have food hallucinations. I swear there were pepperoni pizzas hanging from trees all calling my name. Luckily I was only on it for a few months then did the weaning off thing. I also have had cortisone injections for muscle and tendon inflammations- nasty painful, but no side effects.
Deb- Sorry to hear about your GM. Liver problems are tough. What color are our t-shirts? I'm having troubles figure out how to "outfit" myself for this expedition. running pants? shorts? fanny pack? teleportation device? Did 10 miles yesterday and have decided I hate running. I'm sue glad we didn't sign up for the full marathon! I would not be there.
Heart- We've all been there. Tomorrow's a new day. Just get through the holidays and then you'll be back on track.

Evening All:wave:
Just a quick general post this evening, hope you don't mind:^:
Had a nice afternoon with the old fart. Lauren went with us today and we ran and did a few things. Nothing exciting at all.
Cousin called and is staying out late with his GF tonight down on SOBE (oops, sorry, South Beach) and decided to crash at my GP's house again-YEAH! Didn't have to kill myself trying to clean up the rest of the house today! BUT, he is definitely coming tomorrow so have to work on it between all the errands I have to run tomorrow. It's getting better, but I still have about a days work - okay, so I let it all pile up, what can I say?
I'm pooped, going to hit the hay early tonight, try to get in a little reading, but that usually doesn't last too long when I'm feeling as tired as I am.
Will see you on the new board tomorrow morning!
Toodles

SEF: I am the one who told you that Wal Mart had Scrabble. Did you get it? I am going to have to read through the directions to figure out how to do it online! You are probably gonna kill me! ;)
