It's spring! An excellent time to sprout new exercise goals. On this thread, we set exercise goals for the month and track them together. See our sister thread, April Weight Loss Challenge (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/chicks-up-challenge/229228-april-weight-loss-challenge.html) for tracking the non-exercise goals that lead to weight loss.

I'll post a list of our goals as we set them at the beginning of the month. When you meet a goal, it gets turned red in our list.

I'm back after a couple of weeks rest following my accident. Three cracked ribs which will take six weeks to heal but I've been gradually re adding activities. Cardio is ok but resistance is a problem. Anyway, I'm gona try for 1200 this month and see how I get on!

I added up my exercise minutes from last month, and I was at 1000. So, my goal for April will be 1200 minutes. I also really am going to get new shoes and the arm strap for my iphone this month, I swear!

I lost track of my exercise last month, so my first goal this month is to track it! I'm also going to set a time related goal of 1000 mins this month, see how easy/hard that is to achieve and then I can make my May goal more challenging/realistic. A lot going on this month, so I don't want to set a challenge too high.

1) Log exercise for the whole month on here
2) 1000 minutes

My goals are simple:
1. Do C25K with my son (he wants to start running with me, so I agreed to train him) 3 days/wk
2. Add some kind of strength activity 1 day/wk

I finally bought the arm band for my iphone! Edit: And I'm going to return it, lol. I don't like the way it makes my arm fat look! And it will get in the way when I'm doing certain exercises (not sure why I didn't think of that before). I'll have to find a different solution.

I'm in also doing the weight loss challenge :)

Here's my routine I've set up for myself :)

Every Day:

50 regular crunches
50 side cruches (50 each side)
100 bicycle crunches (50 to each side)
60 second plank
100 push ups (the girlie ones I can't do the real ones just yet :S)

Monday - Friday

15-30 minutes on the elliptical 5 days a week
1 hour of Zumba 1 day a week
1 hour of a fitness class 1 day a week

Everyday

30 minutes of walking

Alright for April my exercise challenge is

24miles & 450 minutes strength/cardio

I am back to the interval training programs on the ellpitical & armed with a heart rate monitor :carrot: Had a hard time last month getting workouts in but I ready to take a stab at April :D

I didn't do anything today which I'm pretty annoyed at myself for >.<

But I'm going to bed right now so I'm up bright and early, Hoping that my sleep pattern will sort itself out soon because it's a big factor to why I don't exercise as often as I should.

I've arranged to do an hours zumba class with my cousin this Friday so that gets that out the way with.

Did day 2 of C25K with DS, still going well. He even asked to do an additional day in between, but I cautioned him to start slowly to avoid injury and/or burnout. Instead he just took the dog for a walk which they both enjoyed. :)

Hey all, I would like to join - i used this forum before a year and a half ago or so and it really helped! I started to do it a couple months ago and got sidetracked and never followed through, but I vow to post regularly this time!!! Through dieting and running, I'm at my goal weight, but still feeling flabby so I want to tone up, and exercise is the only thing that's going to work. My goal for the month is 1000 minutes. I've been doing C25K but that's all - need to add in strength/circut training.

April 1: -

3: C25K W6D1 & Walk - 35 min
4: Walk (pushing stroller to grocery store) - 2-1/2 miles - 30 minutes
5:
6: C25K W6D2 & Walk - 35 min
7: ExTv Pilates Fit - 30 min

11: Run/Walk - 25 minutes; Calisthenics: 25 min

Did day 3 of C25K with DS while we were out of town Wednesday. Today begins week 2. We have to do it separately since I'm out of town without him this weekend. We'll see how he does without mom giving directions and pointers.

P.S. did strength workout Wednesday also :)

The weekend was BAD - NO exercise... I ran today, but not to the point of calling it W7D1... My PMSing body wasn't feeling it today, so I just ran a mile or so then did run/walk intervals for another mile or so. Plus I have a 5 min walk to and from the course. I'm going to try to do some strength training tonight - 60 days left till vacation and I need to get moving on my toning!

I'm just updating my original post with my exercises as well as my ticker for minutes.

Realized today that I can prop up my laptop right next to my treadmill so I can catch up on all the Grey's Anatomy I've got downloaded! One episode is the perfect time for a workout, and it's a good distraction so I don't keep watching the timer. Was feeling energetic after work, so I walked home after work, too. The weather's been great lately - hope it keeps up! Happy Spring!

Got through C25K W2D2 last night with DS, we both did well on our own and it's good to run together again, but my body was in rough shape later last night. I think I must've tweaked something in my back after we ran. I had done some gardening and housework, but nothing strenuous. I guess I better call my chiro. It's still giving me trouble!

Another nice day out! Really enjoying walking outside. It's much easier to avoid staring at the time when I've got a destination in mind. Did a 2-mile walk with the dog today + treadmill time. Was hoping to get in 4 miles, but wasn't feeling it - still happy to do more than 3 miles. Working up to 4!

slowrunner: I love watching shows during workouts. One of the reaons I started varying my workouts is that I was getting injuries from doing only the treadmill. Now, I've figured out a way to play Walk It Out on my Wii and watch shows on my laptop. It really helps with motivation!

I am going to watch my food today I think I need to eat more during the day. I hope I can get through strength tonight after cardio. The last tow nights I've been really weak and jittery. Plan to do both daily for the rest of the week & hopefully I'll loose those couple pounds :D

I was travelling yesterday to attend a wedding celebration last night, and we drove back home today, so not much time to get exercise in. I did get on the treadmill in the fitness room at the hotel this morning before we checked out, so at least that was a little something. Back to the gym for me tomorrow. :)
