Happy Spring everyone!:carrot: The weather is improving and it's time to make some new goals and challenge ourselves to keep moving forward in the process of weightloss.

The rules of this thread are simple. We are here to provide each other some accountability along the path to weight loss. So, you just set your weight loss related goal(s) and it gets added to a goal list. When you reach your goal, it gets turned Red.

We love to hear about your success, as well as your challenges throughout the month. We're here to :hug: support and encourage each other to be our best. So, let's get started!

I would like to participate!

My main goal is for Easter is....I would love to be in ONEderland by Easter and thats the plan. Its a big stretch but Im certainly gonna try!

Goals-
1. Record my water intake!
2. I would love to follow a plan but,I mainly focus in not going over my daily calories (1310)
3. Continue to log my food into my fitness pal
4. Excercise at least 4 times a week

1. Lose at least 1.5 lbs/week, so 6 for the month
2. Walk at least 2 miles/day 6 days a week
3. Stick with the 100 pushup challenge and doing two 10 Minute Trainer (Tony Horton) video workouts a week. Even if I can't finish the video!

1. Walk 15 miles a week
2. Stay w/in my 1600 calorie limit
3. Lose 8 lbs

Yeah, I loved the MArch thread to help me stay accountable! My goals for April are going to be much smaller, as it's the month I move home to the UK. So the first 12 days in Thailand I've got leaving parties/meals to attend and all the upheaval of moving and a couple of nights in a hotel, air travel etc. Then when I get home, I've got all the foods I've not had so long, and Easter and all the rest of it, arrrgh! I'm going to be out all the time catching up with people and none of this relates well to weight loss!

So my challenges are:

1) Lose 4lb in the month
2) When back in the UK start tracking my calories/meal planning/making healthy choices ready for really giving it another push in May.
3) Check my water intake when in cold England is still high enough!

Hello everyone,

I want to lose like 25 pounds in april, am new to this thread, would love to get some support. I see everyone here is so supportive to each other, i also need some help from you all, I am 28 and had miss-carriage twice i have put on all this weight due to emotional eating. and i dint realize till now that i am overweight.

I started like 2 hours of walk on treadmill and only fruit diet.

itee-Welcome! It's so good to have you with us. Sorry to hear about your loss. I know we all want quick results for weight loss and may think drastic diets are the way to do it, but please know we STRONGLY recommend a healthy, balanced diet and reasonable, attainable goals to make sure we're doing things right for our bodies. I would hate for anyone to do harm to their bodies in the name of weight loss. :hug: Take good care of you and the rest will take care of itself.

So, I weighed-in this morning and lost a whopping 1.4 pounds last month. WOW...what can I say? I had a lot on my plate and I didn't handle it well food-wise.
This month I look forward to steady progress. No one has birthdays, but we have 2 out-of-town trips. Note to self: trips out of town do not equal a food free-for-all. April was good to me last year, so I'm planning for that to be the case again.

I weighed 145 today! April Fool's. I actually went the wrong way and weighed in at 152 this morning, dangit. It's probably because I ate my weight in popcorn. At least it wasn't cheetos!

My goal for April is to get my weight into the 140s and figure out how to maintain that. It seems when I do circuit training and build up muscle, I have a hard time maintaining below 150. I don't have a lot of flab on my body, but I would be so happy to be five pounds down, and having trouble maintaining 145...sigh. I just don't feel committed to it like I did last year, and can't make myself stick to counting the calories to get these last few pounds off. Now that spring is arriving and I'm about to be up to my eyebrows in all the fresh produce, I'm hoping it'll get easy again.

susiemartin: give me some of that go go juice!

I just posted this in the March thread regarding my final weigh-in, but this morning I was at 242.3 - which is up almost a pound from the past two days and cannot be anything but water weight. Grrr, I wanted to know exactly where I was starting this month.

I'm going to take my weight from the past two days as my starting weight (241.4), and make my goal to lose 8 lbs this months. That's less than I'd normally go for, but I have to make it through passover this month which will be HARD. I'm wondering if even 8 lbs is too ambitious, lol.

Anyway. Start weight is 241.4 lbs and goal weight is 233.4 lbs.

First official weigh-in of the month puts me at 235.4, which is -.2 down from yesterday. Slower start than what I was hoping to get, but I will take it!

ETA: Oh, and I almost forgot about my other update. I was hoping to start the C25k I'd been talking about in this thread today or some time this week, but I'm going to have to wait another week or so before I am able to begin. However, a local friend I'd lost most contact with called me up out of the blue yesterday and wanted to know if I wanted to start going to Zumba classes with her a couple times a week. They're free on post here, and I never knew we had them available, so I'm considering this a sign that - just because my C25k idea is delayed - it doesn't mean I shouldn't be trying something else to fill in that exercise time. I'm hoping this means April will bring many exciting things! :yes:

Hi all I would love to say that I met my goal but I must say it did not happen. I am still bouncing around 201 -203 I have taken a hard look at my schedule and have changed things around so I can achieve my gym days, and I setting up some new goals for my self.

This week I haven't been exactly on "plan" my FH works FIFO 2 weeks on 1 week off (this week was his off week) I didn't cheat food wise, but I didn't get to exercise as much as I would of liked.. He heads back on Wednesday so back to business as usual.

183 this morning :D Which in theory looks like I'm half way to my goal already, but in practice I know I'll reach the goal, it's the still being there at the end of the month which is tough part! Not too much over indulgence!

I haven't been great with food the first couple days this month, but it's been acceptable. I have a food plan for the next 2 days, so it's just a matter of sticking to the plan. DS and I started C25K to get him ready for his first 5K. It'll be fun to run with him and do some races this summer. Plus, it's almost like interval training this first few weeks. That should help with weight loss.

I haven't drank as much water as I'd liked to today, and I could fall asleep till 3am this morning, it's now comming onto 10pm so I'm going to take some kalms and try to get to bed earlier tonight so I can be up early tomorrow.

I shall be weighing in on Sunday the 10th.

DS and I did day 2 of C25K yesterday and it's still a hit with him. Food was good until late night. Had a couple pices of chocolate and a few chips. :( The scale didn't show any negative effects, but I can't get into a bad habit of doing that.
We leave tonight for IL once again for my other grandma's service. 2 days out of town is usually pretty bad for my weight, but I'm going to try to be more mindful and make more careful choices!
Feeling good otherwise....

I'm jumping in a little late.

My goal for April is to lose 5lbs-SW: 134-and get into the 120's (for good!).

I'm going to a benefit in LA for a long weekend mid-month which is going to challenging to say the least, so I'm hoping to get 3-4lbs out of the way before then...

Weighed in at 214 today (started at 216). So, that's good news! Staying within my 1600, too. Although my weekly cheat day is Thursday (home opener!) and I have every intention of focusing exclusively on the beer and encased meats food groups-- hopefully, this won't set me too far back.

2. Lose 8lbs-- 2 down, 6 to go!

Okay so weigh in day isn't till Saturday, I'm hoping for a 2lbs loss, fingers crossed. On the other front I've been staying perfectly on plan so far (yay) One of my goals is to get through April with 100% compliance (inc. over Easter)

The scale has been up the past two days for me, for no apparent reason :(. I have been completely on plan, so I can only figure sodium? I drank a ton of water today, and so hoping to see it back down tomorrow.

I'm trying to find a pattern in my weight loss to find the key to consistency. Think I'll start adding on exercise average for the week to see if there is a correlation. Is there anyone who has consistently lost up to 2 lbs a week? If so, PLEASE tell me how to do it!

Gwen- I like your attitude. It can be so easy to just think things aren't working and you aren't seeing results fast enough, but yes, a year from now it will be worth it!!

As far as the loss, my average is 2 lbs/week, but I have often had weeks when the scale doesn't budge and then I lose a few at a time. The body is weird like that. I try to judge my success on my actions rather than the scale, because as long as you keep doing the right things, the weight will come off.

So far this month-

SW: 196 Goal: 187 Current: 192

On track every day :) I had a day & a half for the first time since I started where I was STARVING. I stayed on track through it, but it was frustrating!

Hey ladies!
Had a decent trip for my 2nd grandma's funeral, etc. Was horrible about drinking my water, but talked myself down from thinking about which foods I "had to have" on the trip. Unfortunately I did have a bad half day on the way home as far as food choices go, but I feel much better after downing water today and eating right.
C25K is still going well with DS, but today we're each on our own this afternoon. I won't be home to do it with him, but I will do it where I am and I gave him directions for him to do it at home, so we'll see how he does. It's SO beautiful here now...snow is pretty much completely gone and the temps are in the 50-60's...perfect running/outdoor weather for the spring. :D

Yesterday was pretty good and my weight is down this morning :) 249.6.

I'm planing for an OP day and have changed my short term goal (199) to Labor Day.

Some how changing my goal has given me a fresh, new outlook look.

Which just goes to prove that for me, "most of my fat is between my ears" :cool:

My weight loss is stagnant. My "cheat day" turned into "cheat 3 days". Ay yi yi. Didn't do too much damage, but didn't lose either. Still feel on track to hit my 8 lbs this month, just need to hold myself accountable every day.

Our beautiful weather this weekend is certainly inspiring-- just think of that new dress for May!

Sorry I've been absent here the past few days - I tend to be forgetful lately! It seems like everyone is doing a good job sticking with it, through both the losses and the gains.

I have been on track, and this morning was down to 238.1 - so 3.3 of 8 lbs lost so far for April. Looking at another busy week this week, but I won't let it deter me!

Crossing my fingers for tomorrows weigh in ;) Ended up really busy last week with work haven't weighed in or took measurements since the 5th I was down .5lb. Food & workouts were not the best last week, worked a lot of 9 hour days missed a lot of lunches & a breakfast I tend to forget to eat when I get busy...something to work on :dizzy:

It's been 195 every day this week... no more bouncing scale. Just stuck. I WILL break through this plateau!!! Any day now the scale will just drop 5 lbs. (please!)

I've been reading a book that suggests our minds control our bodies, even so far as to either lose or retain weight depending upon how our thoughts are bending. Does anyone believe that? I've been trying to think positively (which can't hurt anyway) and putting hypnotic suggestions out to my body... "the fat is melting off my body" "all this exercise is really working" etc... but, maybe all the subconscious thoughts like "yeah right... you'll be stuck at this weight forever" have more control then the conscious thoughts?

I went over to the Ideal Protein thread for a peek... they are losing so fast! I don't want to buy a "plan" with packaged shakes and such, but does anyone know the stats on nutrients for that plan? Lots of protein I'm sure, but how much? The rest sounds like no carbs for 2 weeks, then slowly add a few in... (sound familiar?) And lots of green veggies, very little fruit, lots of water.

This morning I weighed in at 273.5...I was off plan for 3 days last week, and I mean wildly off plan, which I suspect is why I only had a 1.5lb loss. I'm back on plan now though :)

Hi everyone! Late getting into this, but I'm in...

Goals for this month is to drop 8lbs and keep up with ALL of my workouts. Pulled a muscle in my lower back last Tuesady and now my sciatic nerve is going crazy so I'm going through a major setback. The ultimate goal is to have a lean body for bikini-ing on the beach. I'm not far off, but bleh...not in high spirits at the moment.

Gwen- I do up to a point.
When I'm really focused on losing weight, I sometimes will visualize the numbers on the scale one by one moving downward as I fall asleep. It seems to work for me :)

carved: I definitely tend to forget and/or skip meals when I'm really busy at work too. At least you didn't see any gains though, and I'm sure you'll be down by Saturday with all your workouts!

Gwen: I wish I felt like I might be able to control water retention, etc. mentally, but I think for me it's mostly sleep (or lack thereof) and hormones. Or voodoo! lol

Work has been crazy the past few days, and so I missed 3 days of exercise, but I've been on plan calorie-wise and was happy to see the scale down this morning! My back is feeling so much better today. So that means it looks like I'm back in the home gym tonight after not working since last Friday. It feels weird not to workout, but that's another story. I won't be doing any back workouts unfortunately because I'm kinda afraid the pain will return. It's not completely gone either, but today yesterday and today I am able to bend over and sit in comfort. Yay for me!

Hey Chicklets, sorry I've ditched this whole month so far. It's been cuh-razy--still is, but that is the life I create for myself. Live it and love it, or change it, right?

I have yet to get into the 140s this month, just keep riding the low 150s like a pole dancer, lol. I've got TOM visiting right now and I've been ravenous--don't know if it's real or if I'm using it as an excuse. I also was jumping rope last week and felt my knee go pop. So I've been taking it easy. I'm feeling like the motivation is coming soon, as it warms up and the extra clothes have to come off!

My TOM started today, so I'm not sure what to expect in terms of weightloss in a week from now. Everyone says you get a woosh, but I am also recovering from a several day bingefest which ended about 6 days ago, and it made me gain 5 pounds, (I was 151.5 and went to 156).

I'm now at 154 or so, so hoping to just stay consistent and get accountable with you all.

I've been MIA for a week or two. What was a cheat day turned into a cheat daze. I righted myself the last few days by controlling my portion sizes and stepping away from the beer (craft beer is so good but soooo full of empty calories...) So, I'm still at 214. There's no way I can safely make my 8 lbs by the end of the month, but I am shooting for 2lbs. Attainable as long as watch my food and track my extra walking. Then, May!

MsP: It's super hard to stay on track when you're that busy, so if you're maintaining or losing at all you're doing a good job!! Sticking with it through the busy time will keep your spirits up, and when you have more time you'll be ready to focus again.

It isn't looking like I'm going to make my goal of 5lbs. I'm at 3lbs lost as of today (and that was HARD FOUGHT). If I get one more off by the end of the month I'll be ecstatic. I've been completely on plan with calories & workouts, it's just really hard to lose anything at all these days.

I did make it through my long weekend in Cali with girlfriends without a gain so that alone is a victory.

Congrats to Chickadee & OhMyDogs on reaching their April goals (already!).

Weighed in at 213 today. One more pound and I'll have dropped 4 this month--not near my goal of 8 lbs but progress still. Back on track calorie-wise (slacking a bit on my walking w/our crazy weather lately).

chickadee--Thanks! And sage advice-- I feel great when I see progress, no matter how small.

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter. I know I did! It was so wonderful to have a 4 day weekend. I got so much done around the house which gives me lots of satisfaction. Plus, I had time to just relax too. I still have more to do as I try to get stuff ready for a garage sale in a couple weeks. There's a mountain of stuff in my bedroom waiting to be pcked up and shipped to my mom's. That's where we have the sale. We do this every year, so it stuns me that I always have SO much to get rid of every year. Where does it all come from?!

Anyway, I was naughty a bit this weekend, but I got the chocolate out of my system and I'm moving on. Hope I can ditch another pound by month's end!

chickadee-Thanks for your kind words. :hug: You're such an uplifting person. :) You feel up to being the new official monthly weight loss thread leader? You're pretty much already doing it and you've been great. I just can't keep up with everything like I used to when I was a homemaker. (I miss it SO much!)

Go, go carvedmarmalade! The week is early yet.

I'm holding steady. No loss but on track and with a NSV this week of fitting into some lovely dresses in the back of my closet-- so, no complaints :) I'm hoping for another pound or two by the end of April to bring me to at least 4-5lbs lost. We'll see.

4 days left of April and I'm still at 9.2lbs loss of my 10lbs goal. I wonder if I will get there? I hope so! However I've been 100% on plan all month so fingers crossed I'll be over the line by the 30th :)

Weighed in at 211 yesterday and today so I'm taking it. That brings me to 5lbs lost in April. Short of my goal of 8lbs, but I'm glad to see that scale go down.

So glad this thread was here to help me get back on track when I started meandering into LaLa Land. Big thanks to you ladies and super big thanks to chickadee32 and Ms Perception for getting us started and keeping us going.

Official weigh in day today - another 1lb down. So thats 10.2lbs lost for April. So yay just made it! Thanks to everyone for th support and keeping me accountable - see ya all in the May thread :)

Hey guys, sorry for not posting much at all this month! I just noticed that today marks the end of April, and I figured I should make some time for an update really quick. Not surprisingly, I didn't make goal this month. :(

Weighed in at 230.6 this morning, which puts me at 5 lbs lost for the whole month. Exactly half of the ten I wanted to lose. I've been staying on or within a few of my calorie range, but this month hasn't been as physically active as the last couple of months, and I haven't been drinking all my water either. I never had the chance to start my c25k, and I've been working so much more lately and have thus been working during the available classes for Zumba I'd been taking with friends a couple times a week.

So, yeah...not a good month for weight loss all-in-all, but at least I didn't go up. The 230s have been cruel and stubborn, but with some renewed effort in May, I'm hoping to burn past them for good! Also, I'm going back home to California on vacation on the 14th, so I'd really like to break this lull and lose some more weight before then.

Anyways, sorry for the long post....see you all in the May thread! :wave:

Well I started the month at 204.5 and I'm finishing at 201.5 didn't make my goal :( but a loss is a loss so I'll just push it harder for May :D

Not a good month for me at all:( I didn't make any of my goals and have been pretty much binging again non stop. I've even taken to eating carbs- pasta & bread which are foods I try to avoid.
Needless to say I don't have my usual energy level and have not been exercising or walking.

May marks a year for me that I've come back to 3FC. I'm lighter than a year ago - but sadly I didn't make my goal weight this year because I haven't stayed on my program nor wanted to be healthy bad enough. I'm going to try and find the courage to re-commit to a healthier weight and lifestyle.

I'm stepping on the scale tomorrow and am prepared to face the music.

Ending lower than where you started is most definitely a big accomplishment. :) ophelia: I know it's tough to find the time for as much exercise as you want when work gets really busy. You've stayed on plan with food though, and that is the hardest part, IMO. I know you'll be able to pick the exercise right back up. :)

susie: :hug: You weigh less than you did last year, and that really IS a big deal. I have never in my life had a year where I weighed less than the year before. I know you can get past this bump and get back to your normal routine, and we are here to help and support where we can.
