Default Eating more to get to your points?

Hi,

Today is day 1 for me (29 daily points) and I have some questions.
How many weekly points are allotted again? Can they be used all in one day or throughout the week here and there?

Also it is almost 5pm, I ate dinner and still have 10 points left. I am not sure if I should have eaten more at each meal? If so what would be some good choice to add to my menu. I am trying to get this right so tomorrow I can balance things more. Here is what I ate today (below).

Also I ran 5 miles (60 minutes) would that be high or med activity points? Do those extra need to be used that day or within the week?

Breakfast
3 egg whites (1 point)
1 WW cheese stick (1 point)
Dannon Light yogurt (2 points)
One banana (0 points)
1 cup of coffee with 2tbs of FF 1/2 & 1/2 (1 point)

Snacks
9 Pretezel twists (3 points)
One Banana (0 points)

Lunch
Full can of Progresso Light soup (4 points)
One WW cheese stick (1 point)
1/2 cup Mango slices (0 points)

Dinner
One Healthy Choice Meal (6 points)

Eat real eggs, not just whites. Eat real cheese. Eat full fat yogurt. Add some nut butters. Easy ways to get your full points. Also, you need more veggies. And some oils.

I am at 36points per day and i try to save 10 points for after dinner so i can atleast have my favorite popcorn (Flavour shakers popcorn - sour cream and onion... OMG! so good!). To take up the points you could also add a cup of ice cold milk at each meal, if you dont snack after dinner.

You are missing a lot of good health guidelines which are the core to the program. There is not enough dairy and no healthy oils.Plus there are no veggies.

right now i have 9 points available (my allowance is 34) and i havent eaten dinner yet. But I've already covered all the HGH, even the oil at this point.

I'd say you could have loaded up severely on lunch. 6 points? O_o i ate 10 for mine! ^_^ get me through the 2-3pm "i want to sleep fest" could add to dinner too...

You definitely need Vegetables in there. You could add a salad with dinner and use your oil on your salad. (Make your own salad dressing)

But I would say use regular eggs to beef up at breakfast.

Also- try having a snack after dinner if you eat that early. I spread my points throughout the day. I have everything tracked for the day already and I still have about 9 points left (doing momentum not points plus) This way I can have a small snack when I get home and a WW Ice cream bar after dinner if I want.

If you're not going to use activity points, you're definitely going to want to use all your 29 points. 29 points is the minimum, and while being under by a point or two might not be bad once in a while, you definitely don't want to be that low. If you're not completely fueling your body, then you wont lose weight even if you are exercising, it will cause you to stall.

Others have given you lots of good advice about getting your daily points in. I also eat dinner fairly early, and I usually have points left over, too, but I do that on purpose so I can have a snack later in the evening. If you don't want to snack after dinner, then I would recommend having a big breakfast, since you'll have gone a very long time between getting food and you don't want to set yourself up for being hungry throughout the day.

It's also 49 weekly points, which you can use however you want, whether it's all in one day or spread throughtout the week.

sorry not sure if it was a typo but 1 tbs of butter is not 1 pt. 1 tsp of butter is. that could make a big difference, I just wanted to make sure you had it right.

I'm on my first week... I have 41 points to eat each day, and I'm not having any trouble getting them in while eating healthy. LOL! I admittedly have to work more veggies in... I'm getting the fruit but not enough veggies yet.

This was my day yesterday:

PointsPlus™ Tracker entries

1 large banana(s) -- 0
2 item(s) Smart Ones Breakfast Quesadilla -- 11
Coffee (2 pods) -- 1

Progresso Light Light Italian Style Meatball Soup -- 4

Evening

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore -- 5
Subtotal 10

Anytime
1 muffin(s) VitaTops Golden corn -- 3
2 medium Granny Smith apple(s) -- 0
1 medium banana(s) -- 0
3 oz low-fat cheddar or colby cheese -- 4
Subtotal 7

Food PointsPlus values total used 41
Food PointsPlus values remaining 0

Activity
30 min stationary bike, moderate -- 4
Activity PointsPlus values earned 4

I joined on Saturday, and we had plans to go out with friends, where we had Chinese food. Rather than wait to start tracking on Sunday, I decided to see how much damage the Chinese food would do. I dipped into my weekly allowance heavily - by 25 points. Still, knowing I had room in there with the weekly allowance was a huge relief.

I still have 24 weekly points available and I've earned 16 activity points so far this week. I don't plan to use them, but it's a comfort to know they're there.
