I know it's not a ton, but it's the first time I've run for .5 miles WITHOUT stopping!! Yes, it took me 7 minutes at 4.4mph, but I RAN WITHOUT stopping for .5 MILES!!

It'll ONLY get better from here!! Wonder if I should work on the amount of time to get .5 miles in or the length first?

Just wanted to share!

Excellent Job!!!! You make me want to try that. Right now I just walk 2 miles @ 2.5. So I know how great a job you did jogging a half a mile! Keep up the good work!

That is AWESOME!
Have you heard about C25k? they say they can get you from the couch to running 5k in weeks. Its something I am thinking about trying, I have never been a runner but its something I would like to start working on.
Thanks for the motivation

I recommend distance first, then speed. ;)

Congratulations! Running goals feel amazing, and you're right...it only gets better from here! .5 miles is a huge accomplishment and you should be extremely proud of yourself! :D

Thanks so much you guys! It just felt great. I've been able to do a fast walk for over 2 miles, and even adding a bit of jogging for 3 minutes at a time, but never going a full half mile. And today I just said enough, I'm gonna push myself to run for half a mile without slowing down, put it on 4.4 and RAN!! or at least jogged ;) Seven minutes isn't to shabby either if I do say so myself.

I will continue to push myself.

I have heard of it, but haven't read much into it, yet. But I may look into it more.

I was going to say "I can't do that!" but you've inspired me. When I get to the gym in the morning I am going to try! I never thought I could run- but I will try!

Awesome, This is where it all starts. Keep it going!:carrot:

I hear the c25k is great, but I did the run/walk in my own time and was running a full 5k in about 3 months time. Just over a year later I'm in training for a Marathon! Remarkable and never forget to keep celebrating each milestone in running it will forge you forward!
