General Diet Plans and Questions - what is intermittent Fasting (IF)??

Hi everyone, what is this IF that i'm hearing about all over the place.
I want to try this but i have no idea what it is!:dizzy:
would love to hear your knowledge and experiences with IF. tks!

The quick laymen's answer is it is a method of limiting the length of time during which food is consumed. Most people on here who are doing IF at only during a short "window" of time each the day (e.g. 3 PM- 8 PM), as opposed to eating several meals and snacks throughout the day (e.g. 8 AM to 9 PM). The number of calories consumed is the same.

Feel free to ask any questions to follow up, but you may want to pose this question in the Anyone Else do IF (Intermittent Fasting)? thread because you can see the thoughts of many different people, including those who've been doing this for a year+. Just a helpful source of info all consolidated there and people already involved in that thread ready to discuss IF, so you may get more traction on your questions.
