Had a good chat with my friend at the drop in center about what is good for kids toys this year. Miree is getting a Barbie and clothes from Santa and from us she's getting a Fisher Price dollhouse, a "Barbie" computer (we made it--spray painted the outside and stuck some Barbie clings on it--have to say it looks great!), videos (Scooby Doo, Stuart Little 2, and Lilo and Stitch), 2 puzzles, 3 outfits, colouring books and ink stamps, and everything in her stocking. My mom is getting her an Easy Bake Oven (to be used only when Mommy is there) and my brother is getting her oven accessories and the Beauty and the Beast video. Don't know about anyone else, I just want to be surprised! :)

Its probably sold out too..just like everything else barbie in the stores. I bought early, but still there wasnt much of a selection!
I dont have kids, and still live at home, but I pick three stars every year off of the Salvation Army Star Tree to give children Christmas presents and bought:
Boy 3- A firetruck, A dump truck with hard hat, and tools, and a set of sports balls. 2 Shirts, 1 Sweater, 1 Pair of pants.
Boy 3- 7 Hotwheel cars, a hotwheel race track, a set of sports balls, 3 shirts, 1 jacket, 2 pairs of pants.
Girl 7- 2 Barbie Dolls, A Barbie Jeep, Barbie Makeup Set, 2 sweaters, 2 pairs of pants, gloves, and a hat.
I bought my niece who is two (and I take care of during the day), a barbie horse, clifford bathset, magna doodle, play doh, tinkertoys, and clothes.
Its going to be a good Christmas. I love giving to kids..its the best part of the season! I remember what it was like not getting anything for Christmas because my parents couldnt afford it. Now that I have money of my own, I love to provide for kids who wouldnt otherwise have a Christmas...it makes me happy!

WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much junk that I'll be stepping on and throwing away next year. Only a few things from me, cause I don't want to spoil her with material things. But, the assorted aunts, uncles, cousins, grandmothers and grandpa are piling it up. Barbie is her favorite, I'm starting to hate that doll! A new coat and a beautiful dress rounds out the ensemble.

I want to be one on Linda's grandsons! (I'd do the dishes and dust!)
9 year old boy: Gamecube, spyro game, some playstation games and gameboy games. Airplanes and those matchbox cars of the different states, boat in a bottle, harry potter books and Quidich set , rubber duckies :D
The little guy, age 7. Same stuff as the big kid as far as game cube and games. Dinosaurs, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer character set, those really small lego pieces that crap up my vacuum cleaner, sea creatures (you just add water  ) rubber duckies :D
Ice Age, Lilo and Stitch, Spirit and the new Land Before Time video....Journey to big water(?)
and both boys are getting the other one a Japanese fighting fish....won't they each be surprised!!! That will be two (2) trips to the fish store on Christmas Eve Day and not for the Italian feast!!!

I bumped into a mom at school the other day that said her kids have 2 gifts under the tree...one from them and one from santa....I thought "oh my"...am I the only one that totally spoils my kids?????
DD11 Santa gift...CD walkman (middle of the road value)
CD (2003 Dance Mix), TY that plays Xmas music and moves, PJ's, undies, Chicken Soup books, Jr Palm Pilot
DD4 Santa gift...butterfly Barbie and a live Beta fish in a bowl
Video (Land Before Time and Authur's Xmas), Small simon says(she loves the original game...simon says touch your nose etc), Pj's, barbie outfit, small doll that's outfit glows in the dark
They both get a tree ornament each year, candy and little goodies in the stockings
I can't remember everything that they will open but it is too much and I feel bad for buying into the materialism.
We did some charity too..we did the operation Xmas child thing. I try to make it clear to the kids that it is not about the presents and that it is about Jesus and goodness that we can do for others.....
Hubby is getting shirts, after shave, a tree ornament remembering our son in heaven, ferro rocher from dd four and chicken soup for the golfer from dd 11.
I am looking forward to all the visiting, being out and about and watching the magic that we are still lucky to be experiencing with a 4 year old in the house!
Be well!
