Default Anyone feel great emotionally?

So I've been on Atkins for a week now, and I can't help but notice how good I feel mentally. I mean, I feel almost euphoric at times. I'm pretty sure I'm one of the carb-sensitive people, so maybe all the carbohydrates I was stuffing into me were really doing a number on my hormones and making me depressed. I've told others that I feel I can stay on this plan if nothing else for the way I feel.

Anyone else getting a "happy boost"?

Yes, I know what you mean. On weight watchers I was unmotivated in my work and tired a lot. Now I wake up by myself (no prodding or hitting snooze) and am also WAY more motivated. Great, isnt it?

Both my happy meter and libedo gauge are pegged out. Good times, good times.

Carby foods really screw with my emotional stability and my physical health symptoms too. If I eat too high-carb (even "good carbs"), I not only start feeling kind of down, I also am more prone to mood swings, and my joints and skin will start hurting. And if it's more than a one-day thing, my issues get more extreme.

Dopamine levels increase when you are eating enough protein & don't overdo the carbs. They also increase when you dance or sing with upbeat music. Feels good, doesn't it?

Chiming here and totally agreeing! When I am eating totally clean, I am more energetic, happier, and don't feel like a lump by mid-afternoon.

Which makes me want to kick myself for NOT being totally clean the last two-or-so weeks....

I am BACK on induction as of yesterday; I am glad I am still kind of on track for the Easter Challenge, didn't mess that up too much, phew.

Phoenix!

I'm the same way, which is why I cannot understand it when I fall off plan and eat carbs that make me feel horrible. I also enjoy not having that "starving" feeling between meals where you get the shakes and feel light-headed.

Yes, but I find it comes and goes I wonder if the times that are best is when the carbs are really low. I am just starting to taper off my antianxiety a bit as I don't feel so anxious and dr Atkins states in his book it slows weight loss (and I'm already a slow loser) and I was on the max dose ...

I've been on Atkins for 4 years now........lost and kept off the weight I wanted to lose and I feel great! I felt good from about day 3 or the diet when my reflux disappeared never to come back! Amazement describes what I felt at that point.

A meal with too many carbs just leaves me feeling dreadful so I'm assuming I have a sensitivity to something and I now have little trouble avoiding the carbs.

I've also been wondering if I have a sensitivity to something. Just thinking about that anxious feeling along with the cravings has kept me on plan. I'm still feeling good!

Fizziecat, I, too, notice that the anxious feelings minimize and almost disappear on this plan. It's another great reason to stay on plan.
