Unhappy Frustrated

This is week 3 with IR and the first two weeks I did great following SB as far as weight loss goes. This week the scale went up and refuses to go down!!! I'm finding it very hard to eat all these veggies south beach wants me to, to get in at least 1,200 calories a day and stay under 120g of carbs a day....what am I doing wrong!!

I'm also on 1,000 mg of met a day. I'm trying to remember to take my second dose of 500mg but I'm not the best at it yet. I can remember the first dose because I'm use to taking my vitamins in the morning. I try to work out at least 3 times a week doing 20-30 mins weights and 30 mins cardio. I was on WW before this and lost a ton of weight. I still have 15-20 lbs to lose.

We are TTC also so I don't know if the weight gain this week is due to the "trigger" shot they gave me on Monday to que my body to release the eggs or what. I was on 50 mg of clomid for 5 days this cycle as well.

Any time you're doing an injectable, your weight is going to go a little bit haywire...hormone fluctuations will do that to you! So give it some time...at least a few weeks to level out.

that makes me feel a little better about the injections making my weight do funky things. I really thought maybe I was just creating excuses as to why it went up even though I've stuck to a pretty healthy diet and exercise plan.

Glad you feel better! Hang in there with it. I know it can be stressful -- diet, TTC, shots, etc. Like you a juggling a lot of plates. But try to just stay even keel.

Thanks! This is our first month with the RE and we are getting to the end of all the testing. This month has been overwhelming to say the least with getting some of our test results back, finding out I am IR and starting a new diet!! YIKES!! These boards have been a great support system!

I would definitely be patient since you are on your first round with RE. Your hormones are doing all sorts of crazy things right now and you are likely retaining water because of it. The good news is you're on the right track for your IR- SB is a great diet for it Good luck on your injects cycle!
