Hello all! It's a new month, where is everyone?

Does anyone have any specific goals they'd like to meet this month? I need to think of a new goal since my 10wk running goal is coming to an end next week. Not sure what to do I've been thinking.

Hope everyone is well and I hope more people chime in!

I am here! Its been a busy week! I let one of my staff go on Monday and it was really busy so I stayed late at work. Tuesday, my son was in the playoffs for hockey so I was at the rink for two hours after work last night. I am glad I was there. It went into double overtime and my boy scored the game winner. Its the proud parent moment!!!!
Tonight I am committed to a one hour workout to make up some ground for the past two days. I even talked my son into making supper tonight...awesome!!!
I need to work on my abs tonight. I am going to do 30 minutes on the treadmill but I need to work on my gut area...agh!!! Its the part of my body that I like the least.
Other than the cold weather we are having, I can't is good!

Happy March everyone!

Jillian maybe you could get some ideas for goals at the end of the journey in the maintainers forum too. How about a food goal, like to eat 30g of fiber a day or something like that?

My goals for this month are to lose 10lbs in the month, plus get more active. I've just started a C25K and I'm pretty excited about it. Doing just the first few workouts have given me more confidence -- I chose to take the stairs at work because I thought, pfft, if I can run, I can walk up these stairs. I found myself about to say 'I can't' when my DS asked me to race/chase him, and then I realized, I can, so I did!

Joan -- You are really moving, great job!

JM -- :wave: hope your back is feeling better :) What does Josie think of your weightloss? Has she mentioned it? I was surprised by the interest my DS took in mine...he's my little diet coach now.

angie--those are great goals! congrats on starting the C25K! that's awesome!

i'll have to look on the other forums for some ideas. i already get in 35g or more of fiber everyday, so i don't think i wanna get anymore in! ;)

i'm curious too, JM..has Josie said anything about your losses yet? sometimes kids are oblivious. my kids really don't notice or at least they don't say anything. and i have to explain to them why i'm getting rid of some clothes or getting new ones.

hope everyone has a good weekend. next week is my birthday. it's on a friday this year. don't think i'm doing anything special for it.

Morning everyone, well I managed 45 minutes of exercise last night and it was awesome. I slept so good. My husband told me that he isn't going to work out with me anymore if the workout starts at 8pm. It was the only time that worked for me last night!!! haha
Well I would like to work on a few better food choices, not that I am eating bad but I could certainly start writing down everything again. I have been so busy trying to make exercise my priority that I lost my way a bit in the kitchen.
I am feeling good. I don't know if I have lost any weight as my clothes feel pretty much the same but I am not going to quit. I really need to keep going!

Angie-my back is better, thank you! I was so grateful that this was a one day thing and not a 2 week thing this time! Took a walk yesterday in between rain showers. Hope to hit the gym tomorrow.

Josie hasn't noticed anything. She's generally self-absorbed as 4 yr olds tend to be. Occasionally she surprises me with an observation.

Saw my nutritionist today and have moved into "normal" eating-which means I can start to add in veggies, fruits and grains! Yay! I never thought that a salad or bite of banana would sound so good! I told her I was worried about adding in bread, pasta, potatoes, etc and she said a lot of people decided not to add those in for a while or at all. So I can see how it goes. I would really love to add in oatmeal though . . .so I might attempt that one morning.

Jillian -- You are definitely getting enough fiber!! I should do a new avatar...I may pick one of the photos from our trip to Disney last December. Oh, I also have a goal to be comfortably in a size 14 by the end of April, which I think is doable. I can wear some 14s now, but only if they have lycra or spandex in How about going out to a movie with the kids for your bday? Or having a movie night in with popcorn and sleeping bags?

Joan -- I have to journal what I'm eating, I find when I stop writing it down, or when I stop stepping on the scale each morning (I'm a daily weigher) that's when I go off track. Keep going with your great exercise regime, you're doing great.

JM -- How exciting to be able to add in some normal foods again. I remember how giddy I was about moving from Phase 1 to Phase 2 on my plan and that's nothing compared to what you've been limited to eating. Are you back at work full time now? Do people notice the difference yet? I noticed that many many people didn't notice my weight loss until I got to 40-50 pounds. Oh, just mentioning because I think it's ironic, but my boss' name is Marie-Julie and I call her MJ. :)

Angie-okay that's hilarious that her name is Marie-Julie. Doesn't flow as well as Juliemarie though! ;)

People have been noticing-especially people I see once a week at church. The weight's been coming off fast enough that every week my face, my boobs, or butt look smaller.

I am back at work full time-have been since 2 weeks after the surgery. i'm pretty much fully healed and I don't really have to worry about lifting restrictions anymore. And I'm definitely looking forward to eating more normal meals.

Happy Sunday!

We had a really rainy mild day yesterday and ALL of our snow melted...woke up this morning and it's all back. Stinking weather. I had just been considering putting the cover back onto my gazebo...guess I"ll wait a few more weeks. :D

Good morning, can't believe its Monday already. I had a great weekend. I increased my cardio this weekend on the treadmill. The past few weeks, I have been walking 1 minute, running 1 minute alternating. This weekend, I was walking 1 minute and running 2 minutes. Its slowing getting easier.
I have to admit though that I had a bad phone call with my Mom last night. She made me so mad!!!! I got off the phone and had a beer! That must be what they call emotional eating and drinking....sigh It tasted good at that moment.
Anyways, today is a new day and I am planning on working out at least a couple of times this week. I am not really noticing any changes in my clothes but I am definately feeling good.
Anyways, gotta run.

hello all. late post from me..not such a great start to the day or week...X isn't having a good day, so i'm not having a good day! ;)

last week on my 10wk run schedule. i've got a plan for the next goal and i'll share when i have more time. hope all is well with everyone!

great to see a new pic from you, Angie! now we need the others to join in! :) and for the lurkers to come on out from behind the screen!

Jillian, I just don't take that many pictures, but I found one from my DD college graduation from last summer. At least I'm not hiking in this one... 99.9% of the pictures of me that have been taken since I got married (over 25 years ago) have been of me sweat covered and hiking with my DH or mountain biking and sweat covered (not sure if bike shorts or that fanny pack are more unattractive to the female form, but neither a look that any sane woman wants to be what they are remembered for). Nami walk already? Time does fly. When does that hubby of yours get back from his deployment? It has to be getting closer now.

Yesterday I was doing minister of welcome duties at church and got assigned to go up to the balcony and collect the offerings, and I had not been up there more than once or twice in the 16 years or so that we've attended that church, so didn't realize that there was one more step at the bottom of the stairs, as it is flat for about 4 feet and then another step (like a platform) that it is all colored the same so you have to look close to see that step... I almost face planted, and tweaked my back and my knee trying to not spill the collection (which is basket with a 6 foot handle). totally embarassing too. Not that I did a major injury, just feeling creaky today.

Not the best weekend food wise... well maybe drink wise it more honest... My DH took me on a romantic get away to the crown plaza hotel, and it came with free cocktails and appetizers, and then there was a free breakfast buffet the next morning.. I seem to be a sucker for free junk food. Then my DH brought home a pizza for dinner the next night. I didn't go over on WW points for the week, but still... I think that for me those bonus points are like permission to behave badly.

Jillian- Wow, what do you weigh nowadays??? So awesome!

I am continuing my workouts and feeling really good about them. I worked out Saturday, Sunday and Monday so tonight I am taking the evening off. I am a taxi driver on Tuesday nights for dance so thats okay.
Its salmon and asparagus tonight, I can't wait.
I might take a while to get back to where I was but I am really working hard towards my fitness goals right now.

Hello Chickies! I been MIA due to lots of chaos going on at home and work and was on travel most of last week and weekend. But I'm still here. Still Fighting the good Fight.

Its getting close to Spring/Summer so I need to set a goal for myself as others of you have mentioned. However, I have good intentions and then like the movie UP I hear "Squirrel" and I am done. LOL

Congrats on the losses.

Is anyone giving anything up for Lent? I don't practice my religion closely, and even if I did, it doesn't include I do like to challenge myself to give up something each year. This year I decided to limit myself to grocery shopping just once a week for Lent. Sounds easy perhaps, but in the past week I went three times, and bought tons of stuff I didn't need to get, causing me to spend about double my weekly budget on groceries...nuts, huh? I normally pick an area I can use some work in and set a goal around year I gave up all fried food, and another I gave up swearing

hello all. just wanted to check in quick while X is napping.
Joan--i'm at 148lbs these days. ;) i'm still in shock..everyday that i get on the scale. it's so surreal to me.

Angie--thanks for the early birthday wishes. not much planned for the day. i'm making myself a low fat red velvet cake (made with applesauce and just a touch of oil) and the frosting will be a mixture of ff cool whip with a box of sf/ff cheesecake pudding and a bit of soymilk. let it set up in the fridge for a bit and it gets thick like a mousse. and the kids want to order pizza tomorrow, so that's what we're doing. otherwise, saturday my sister and i are going to hang out for a bit.

oh and Angie, i've never given anything up for Lent but this year i decided to do something like that to challenge myself too. and i'm giving up my "time wasting" internet time in the evenings after X goes to bed. instead i'm using that time to work on my French courses that i've neglected the past few months.

Hey all! Im new to this forum, and just getting back into LAW. I did it back in 2005 and lost 40lbs in 2 months. I went off it (couldnt tell you why now) and gained back all that plus another 40, eesh!

My best friend and her husband are doing it together, and I joined in. The tough part is they have each other, and I have a super skinny roommate that loves junk food, so its all over my house, all the time!

I also work like 55 hours a week, so its just tough, and I need some encouragement.

How do you you get one one of those little counters on your posts, I like those!

Hi Hooper98, What's your name? I think after a certain number of posts you can have the tickers too. I don't know how many though. I find it easier to be good at work than at home, since I can control how much food I bring and then I am pretty good at sticking to that. Although every once in awhile I weaken and eat some of the junk in the office... there is always something that should not be eaten in the lunch room, although lately we've been doing wellness activities so there is a lot healthier stuff in the lunchroom. Instead of muffins now we get fruit (and trail mix which is another story, as although it is not unhealthy as they mostly have just nuts, it is a lot of fat).

I give up something for Lent most years. This year it is sugary foods and gambling... I'm not sure which of those is going to be harder for me, since I like to play the video lottery a little too much lately... and I also love those healthy choice fudge bars a little too much.... so I'm going fudge bar free and without the lucky lemmings for awhile.

Happy Birthday Jillian. I love red velvet cake.

How's the exercise going for everyone? I recall last week we were all on the move. I'm still doing my C25K program...on week 2, day 2...I still have trouble believing I'll be able to do the higher levels, but I only have to worry about one at a time I guess. :)

Happy Birthday Jillian!

Angie- I am still working out like crazy and feeling good about it. Its been a tough week at work, short staffed, longer hours but I did manage a workout on Monday and Thursday night. I am still doing one hour workouts on Saturdays and Sundays. I don't think I have lost any weight which is a little frustrating considering I workout really hard.
This week, I did cave and have cake twice!!!! Three birthday parties this week, yikes!!!!
I have only had one alcoholic beverage in the past few weeks and that was because my Mother made me mad!!!!
I started tanning this week as we are going to Mexico in April. I am really looking forward to it. I am still hoping to look good in a bikini I have. I usually only wear it in the hot tub at home!!!!
I will continue to work out even though I am not feeling a weight change. I am certainly noticing strength changes in my arms and legs in just 3 weeks so thats awesome.
Maybe I will start TO next week...hmmm!
I don't celebrate lent but maybe I should consider giving up something. How long is lent and when does it start?

JOan -- Lent started on Wednesday and goes until Good Friday...never too late to start though. I'm so excited for you about your trip (and jealous for me!), a nice sunny beach sounds soooo good right now. Good job on keeping up with your workouts. I'm going to do my C25K week 2, day 3 workout today, and on to week 3 tomorrow. I haven't lost much weight, but I am fitting into things that didn't fit before -- so that's exciting!

I just went to a LAWL center and will be starting the program on the 20th - I will be gone all of next week so didn't really want to start with living out of a motel for the week

Does everyone on here still follow the LAWL? any tips? Has it worked for you? I will not be doing the bars though or any of the extra pills either- once I said I wasn't interested in the extra pill stuff the counselor didn't even go into what they do and just went onto the program- that was nice that they are not pushy :)

Another thing I liked is that they do offer stabalization and maintenance plans but you don't have to commit to those up front either- so if the plan doesn't work or I would fall off wagon that is not money down the tubes already- I see there are alot post from a year or two about the program are most of them still up to date about the program? Going to go check them out right now- thanks Reda

Hi ChopperChick-Welcome!

Not sure how many of us are still doing a strict LAWL program. I'm not (though I do eat low carb), but I was successful at losing nearly 100 lbs a few years ago and met great people on this site-so I stick around for the support. There's a newbie thread above if you're interested in substitutions for the bars and/or TO juice. A lot of us didn't use bars (pretty high in sugars)-I did for awhile and then stopped.

Even if we aren't still doing the program-we know it pretty well-so let us know if you have any questions. We're not as active of a board as we used to be-so be patient. ;)

Angie-the weight loss has slowed a bit-but it's still great as far as I'm concerned. I'm not exercising enough though. I get so tired after work-I have to just power through it. It's only 20 minutes for crying out loud! ;)

Transitioning into some carbs has been difficult. I'm having a lot of trouble with veggies. Lettuce is the only thing staying down at this point. I haven't tried any fruit. Really-i'm full by the time I get my protein in.

What I have LOVED adding in is a tortilla pizza-I use those little 6 in ones and either make a BBQ chx or turkey pepperoni pizza. I think I've had one every day for the past week. I'm full after about 3/4 of a pizza. yum. I'm a thin crust pizza girl anyway-so these are perfect.

Sounds like everyone is doing great! I am still plugging away with my exercise routine. My weekends are amazing now! I wake up, enjoy coffee and a nice breakfast, wait 30 minutes and then do my workout. I usually don't hit the shower til noon. Its awesome!!! I have started to really enjoy me time!
During the week, I am still at 2 workouts for the week as I have been extremely busy with work.
I am into my fourth week of my new exercise routine and it seems to be working so I need to watch my food intake which is what I am working on this week. I am not following LA to the exact but I am using my book for some guidance.
Bottom line is that I am starting to feel good about myself!!! yippee!!

Where is everyone?
I exercised for 30 minutes last night and it was a tough one, I just couldnt get into it...but I finished it.
Tonight I am working out as soon as I get home from work so I can get it done. Tomorrow I am going to the Flames game and I am going away for the weekend to see my friend so I wont be working out again until Sunday.
I was having a bad morning at work so I left the office and went for a relaxing! Sometimes, its good to be the Boss!!!
I came back much happier!!!!
Well I should run, just wanted to pop in and say hello.

Hi Joan! It's very quiet here lately. Sounds like you've got a fun few days planned. Are you going far to visit your friend?

JM -- The pizza sounds great. I made one the other day on a low carb pita and it was very filling and delicious. Too bad about the veggies, I'm guessing it just take some time for your body to be ready for them?

Well folks, I've done more shopping in a size that doesn't fit me. When I'm comfortably in a 14 I'm going to be one well dressed chick! It had better not take me until next fall or I'll look ridiculous running around in shorts and capri pants.

Hello Everyone.... I am new here and new to this environment as a whole. I am not even sure if this will post properly once I am done! Anyway, I was on LA Weight Loss back in 2000. I lost 100 lbs, and then got pregnant so I was never given the stabilization nor maintenance phases. Sadly, I gained it all back, but I am ready to do it over again. I started back on my own the "Old School" way with the color plans 3 weeks ago. Since all the centers are closed and I have no desire to do the online numbered plans, I figured I would join up with this group for support. :) I was also wondering, although I have a long way to go, I was hoping someone here would know or have the information for stabilization and maintenance phases. I only ask so soon because by the time I reach my goal weight, there may not be anyone around who even remembers the "Color" plans! Looking forward to getting to know everyone here.....

After spending several hours looking over threads on here, I got a little bit of conflicting information regarding the Stabilization...... I did find on Ebay a "Free to Live" stabilization and maintenance books but the seller does not know if this is for the colored plans or the new numbered plans. Does anyone know if it even matters?

Laute65- Yes I remember the colored plans. I was on the purple plan. I think I still have it at home somewhere!

Oh I'm feeling so tired today. I think I am tired of winter already. I really wish the snow would quit already. On a good note, only two weeks till vacation!!!!

I also only know the colored plans. I might have the stab/maint somewhere-if I find it while cleaning out my closets I'll let you know.

hey everyone, it's a late post for me, but thought i'd say hi before i forget again. welcome to the new peeps and i hope the old peeps that are lurking come out to play again!

i'm at 146.8, which is down .6 from my last WI. :) and that's with a trip to my parents house in NE this past weekend too. so i'm pretty darn pleased with that.

Okay so i have been having issues drinking my water lately, probably because its so dam cold here that all I want to drink is coffee. Anyways, this morning I slice strawberries into my water and let me tell you, its fantastic. I think I may try cucumber tonight. My friend went to a spa and she told me this is what they gave them. Its a yummy healthy idea!
Well I went to the mall last night with my daughter to buy Uggs and well I was there, I tried on some clothes. I am definately not losing weight as things were still tight. Its crazy because I having been working out like a crazy lady. I guess I must have poor eating habits. It saddens me a bit but I am going to hang in there because I am feeling really good about my exercise habits that I am forming.
I think on the weekend, I am going to make some turkey vegetable soup to eat during the week for lunch at work. This weekend I am going to meal plan!!!! ugh
I have been invited to a friends for dinner on Saturday as she is going into the hospital for surgery. I will really have to stay focussed because she always has a ton of food!! She is having 25 of us for dinner, crazy!!!
Well, gotta run. I just wanted to pop in and say hi!!!

Hello all. Just stopping by to say Hi. I have been sick for about a week and the WL is not present.

Hopefully will get refocused next week. weather is all over the place here too. 80 degrees last weekend, now its about 45.

Hi all -- I'm down just over 4lbs for March. I had hoped for better, but I'll take it. I suspect that my calorie counting tool is counting a little low, or I'm way off base on my measurements, but either way, I'll adjust a little and hope for better in April. I'm still following my high protein, low carb/fat/sodium plan, but I watch the overall calories too. How is everyone else doing?
