Hi all. Here is where we are posting our goals for St. Pat's day. Short term goals can be great, just the ticket for keeping us motivated.

For Valentines day, I set my goal at .5 pounds/week, thinking I couldn't do one pound/week. But I did one pound, so I'm setting my new goal at the one pound/week rate. Since my first weigh in is tomorrow night, I have five weeks and thus, my goal is to lose 5 pounds. After my weigh in, I will most likely set a weekly goal of something I need to work on.

Starting weight - 171.5
St. Pat's Day - 166.5
** 5 weeks to go

OK Rabbit...this one's going to be a tough one for me...it's not only a St. Pat's countdown, it's a Wedding Day count down!! :eek: I did not meet my Valentine's Day goal, I fell a few pounds short.

Good Afternoon All

Well the last one worked pretty well, so I'll go for this one. I have 4 WIs between now and then so I think I'll go for 3 lbs.

St. Pat's Day Goal:
Current: 239.2
Goal: 236.2

Additional Goals:
Journal More
Eat My Fruits and Veggies (I find this hard in the winter)

LBH - I think staying sane the month before your wedding is a good goal :)

Hello all...

Sounds like you are working toward some great goals so far. LBH, I have been married for 4.5 months and I can assure you that "sanity" is a perfect goal for you! But in the end, it will all be worth it...my wedding day was like a fairy tale.

Like Rabbit, I too have 5 weigh ins 'til SPD. Last goal was for 1.25 lbs. per week and I made it, but I am expecting a slow down, now that I am several weeks back into this, so I am going to go with 1 lb. per week. Five pounds by SPD. I am also going to take my measurements this weekend and take them again at SPD.

Ya know, I really love these short goals. It really helps me to keep my focus. Here's to a successful SPD countdown!! :D

This has been a looong week, so I am ultra ready for the weekend. Luckily, it too will be long...Govt. work has its benefits! :)

Rabbit, how was weigh-in last night? I hope no more gas leaks!

I lost 1 lb. this week. I've been trying to curb my snacking and doing really well with it, so I was kind of hoping for more, but I'll take it anyway!

Hi all! I lost 1.5 last night at weigh in! :) Since it was a 2 week weigh in though, I've decided to only count half (and then I have to adjust my starting weight and goal also). So here goes:

Starting weight - 170.75
Present - 170
SPD Goal - 165.75

** 4 weeks to go, 4.25 pounds to go**

Hi all :D

Rabbit, glad to hear all is going well. Congrats on the good loss last week! That is very exciting.

I have been struggling since I last wrote. :rolleyes: It was my birthday over the weekend and a long weekend at that and both things contributed to some overeating. Then yesterday was the day from h*ll. And throughout my 16+ hour day, I only managed one decent meal and the rest of them were...well, just terrible and consisted mostly of donuts. :eek: I have managed to work out a couple of times (not today, 5:30 came to early after getting to bed at 1:00) and have done pretty good on my water, but the food...oh my. I just hope I can salvage the week with nothing more than a small gain. I am back on track today. Moving on...

Happy Wednesday All,

Didn't do to well towards my goals the end of last week and the weekend. :( Nothing healthy was appealing so I went over points most days. This week has started out better though. :o

Went to WW yesterday and I'm down 0.2 lbs. Not great but I'll take it all things considered. :)

Rabbit - You go girl :D. You seem to have so much energy and enthusiasim send some my way will ya. ;)

Hi all. I've been talking about how well I've been doing, but it doesn't seem to be showing up on the scales yet. I hope it does by tomorrow at weigh in, I love to see that loss. :D

Jhawk - Happy Birthday, belated! We all slip, but the important part is that we pick ourselves up and begin again! :) That's my philosophy, anyway.

HI guys. I think I'm going to have a gain tonight - my scales are showing me up a pound. I have points left and have exercised all the time, so the only thing I can figure out is that it must be from the weight training. I really like doing the weight machines and know it is good for me, but am so bummed to see that scale go in the wrong direction. The only thing I think I can do is hang on, keep doing as I am, and hope this reverses itself. I'm just going to HATE coming on here and posting a gain! I know I'm looking short term when I think that way though, so I'm going to keep on keeping on.

As I suspected, I gained one pound at weigh in last night. Hope it won't stay around too long!!

Here's my stats:
Starting weight - 170.75
Present - 171
SPD Goal - 165.75

**3 weeks to go, 5.25 pounds. Whoops! I'm getting scared.

Happy Friday...

Boy am I ready for the weekend. This has been one hideous week. In all ways, and as a perfect end, I gained a pound this morning. I'd be upset if it wasn't so deserved.

Rabbit, sorry about the gain, but boy can I relate.

Hi All :)

Mind if I join-in? I'm doing the WW program here in Arizona. I made Lifetime about a year ago and all was going well until December. Since 12/1 I have gained back about 9 pounds and am .8 away from having to "pay" for the meetings again. :eek:

Anyway, I would really love to join your thread - you all seem so motivated and friendly! I will post my stats tomorrow a.m. along with a St. Pats Day goal.

Ok, so is this dumb or what? I was so bummed about gaining a pound that I didn't deserve that I ate like a fool Thursday night and Friday. I am back on track today. No more foolishness!! I am repeating my mantra over and over in my head - I will NOT be fat!

I have been forcing myself to post my weight on this goal thread - I didn't with the Valentines Day goal because I was unhappy with myself and my ups and downs in 2000. But I figure I have to face it and be accountable.

I forgot to set a challenge for myself earlier so I am doing it now. I do fine getting my veggies in (it's all that salad I eat) but not my fruit. So I'm challenging myself to: Add one fruit per day.

Here's hoping for a better week this week. I had a hard time getting the bad eating habits back under control after last week, but I think I have now. I learned what a powerful monster stress eating can be, that is for sure. You are right though, Rabbit, we can win this. Hang in there...

Nona - Welcome! Good for you for taking control after only a small gain. I had previously lost 25 lbs., never made it to goal, then gained about 15 of those back, so I am still working on making up lost ground. The sooner you take control the better.

Well, after my gain last week I am back at ground zero for the SPD challenge. Now I've got to "double time" it to the finish line.

Goal: -5
So Far: -0
To Go: -5 :(

Does a goal have to be a number on the scale? Mine is not so much seeing a drop, but being able to MOVE! I signed up for an 8K (approximately 5 miles) race on St. Patrick's Day, and my goal is to run the whole thing (no walking). I'm guessing this will take me close to an hour!

I suppose I can get a scale # goal, too. I would like to have dropped 9 poinds by then. I know that's a little high, but I always lose the most my first few weeks on WW, so I think it's doable!

jhawk - I don't know if I mentioned it but I am making up lost ground also- still. I was down to 165.5 last May which is a little less than my SPD goal. And if I don't quit eating, I will not get there. My I've got to get myself going!!

Maggie - your goal can be anything you chose!! Cool that you want to run that race. I'll be cheering for you from here. :)

Hi everyone! Just stopped by to say hi and to let you know I finally got to go to a weight watchers meeting. Since there is no registration fee until March 3rd I decided now was the time to go. I still didn't feel like I was ready to commit but I'm glad I made myself go. I didn't like what I saw on the scale but I did enjoy the meeting. I to am trying to get off the 15 lbs. I've gained back.

Well WI last night didn't go well. I gained a pound. But I didn't journal all week and I know I overeat w/o realizing it if I don't write it down. :o

Good morning and Happy Wedensday everyone!
Today is my fifth day and I'm glad to say I'm doing well. After the first couple days its gotten easier. I must say I had and attitude when I started. I told my DH Sat. "I'm going to eat what I want and just write down the points." But even though I ate at the high end of my points the journaling did make me think about what I was eating. And I'm glad to say the reluctant attitude is gone now. Though I do hope that I can stick with it this weekend. I'm a little nervous because we are going out to dinner with friends on Sat. . I'm hoping to eat low points during the day and stick pretty close to program for dinner. We're going out for Mexican food. One of my favorites!

Happy Friday All :D

Last week was "one of those" weeks and I saw no possible way it could get worse, but lo and behold, it did. I wouldn't dare bore you with the details, but let's just say I am really ready for this week to be over too. I lost 1/2 lb. this morning, so that was nice, but I'm still way off of my SPD goal.

Merfle - how is "moving" going for you? Are you getting ready for the 8K? Good for you for doing that - it will feel so good to accomplish that.

Rabbit - I can relate to your difficulties this week. And even though we are both making up lost ground, I suppose we should look at the bright side and be glad we haven't given up entirely. This weight loss thing has always been such a struggle for me, but I keep telling myself that once I conquer it - it will be for good. I hope the saying "that which does not kill us only makes us stronger" is true, 'cause I am gonna be really strong if I ever make it to the finish line.

Freesha - Welcome. Good for you for tackling this again. I always tell myself that I should "fake until I make it" and it appears that has worked for you as well. Good luck and hang in there.

Tech - Those darn one pound gains are rampant this week, huh? I agree that this is definitely a mid-winter slump. I also agree that not journaling is probably a big contributor. I haven't journaled in a couple of weeks either and I've paid the price...the only way I managed a small loss this week was that I was too busy/stressed to eat regularly 'cause what I did eat was crap. Hang in there. We can beat this.

As I suspected I had a gain this week. I gained 1/2 pound. Before I went I thought I might pull off a maintain, but no such luck. I'm way off my goal this time. But I will not give up! On the good side, I lost 3.5 inches in February!! :) So glad that I am tracking that also. As I will be gone all of next week, my next weigh in will be the 15th, the last one before this goal. jhawk - congrats on your loss! You are so right about not giving up. Even making up lost ground, atleast we're headed in the right direction. If I didn't try, it would be disaster, I'm sure!

Tech - a fleeting thought entered my mind about not going, but I knew I had to. This morning I SO did not want to get up for my workout and this song started playing in my head - nowhere to run to baby, nowhere to hide. So true!

Hello all...

This new look is weird! :?: I am sure I will get used to it.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I was actually ready for the new week to start after the miserable week I had last week. I made it back to the gym this morning after a week off, even though I have chest congestion and have heard you shouldn't exercise if your symptoms are "below the neck"...I needed to exercise and I figure anytime I actually want or need to do it, I should, because that is a rarity. I took it easy, but it felt good to be there. I am a bottomless pit with food today though...not everything could "click" at once, I guess.

Rabbit, sorry about the gain, but don't give up. The lost inches are GREAT! :cool: I have been meaning to take my measurements for about 6 weeks now and I just can't remember to do that...you have inspired me though. Maybe I'll do that this weekend...

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all having a good week so far.
Saturday I had my 2nd weigh in and I was down 4lbs.
I always do pretty good the first week cause I'm usually retaining a lot of water. Oh well I'll take it, even if most of it was water. I'm having a good week so far. Saturday night we went out for dinner and I went over my points but have been staying within my points since then.
I finally met someone that likes to walk and ride bikes so I'm going to walk with her this afternoon.

Happy Friday Eve Everyone :)

I went to WW on Tuesday, but haven't been able to post my results because the 'puter was acting up :?: I haven't got the hang of the new format yet, but I like spell check :D

OK back to the point: I lost 0.6 lbs at WI. It's not great but I'll take it since I didn't journal again last week. However, I was happy on Tues anyway because I went to the store and they had this cool dress and jacket on sale 50% off but they didn't have the dress in my size, so I bought one size smaller and IT FIT!!!!! So no matter what the scale says I'm making progress :D

Freesha - Congratulations on the 4 lbs :eek: First week or not that's great. Congrats on finding someone to exercise with, it sure helps.

Jhawk - glad this week seems to have gotten off to a better start than last. Good Luck.

Rabbit - 3.5 inches is something to be proud of. The weight will follow.

Hi all :)

Hope everyone is having a good week. Mine could've been better. The congestion I was complaining of Monday turned into full blown illness and I missed two days of work and haven't exercised since. That is now two weeks with only one day of exercise. I can't taste a thing, but that doesn't keep me from eating. So...remember the 1/2 lb. I lost last week? It's back. Grrr... :nono: On the bright side, I am feeling better and am missing my exercise and healthy cooking, so hopefully, next week will be better.

Freesha - congrats on the great loss! :D A loss is a loss, so who cares if its water?? You are on your way!

Tech - Yay on the loss! And how cool about the smaller clothes! Dontcha just love when that happens?? :)

Well, this new look is weird. And I noticed some new smilies I'll have to check out. I tried to get on here last weekend before I left town but the sight was down. So I've been gone all week.

Jhawk - have you checked your measurements yet? Hope you are feeling better. Sorry about the small gain - I'm sure it will be gone in no time.

This is our last week of this goal and then is anyone up for an Easter goal? I'll be anxious to see how I did after having to miss a week and being out of town and all.

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend.
Saturday I weighed in and was down another 2lbs. . I've done o.k. this weekend, sat. I used banked points and today I went five over. But thats o.k. I'm glad I still journaled I think it kept me from eating more than I did.
My St. Patricks day goal was to take it one day at a time cause I wasn't totaly into it my first week. And to still be on program by then. So I think I'm going to make it. I'm feeling pretty comfortable on program now and not nervous about cheating or binging. I hope everyone has a wonderful week! freesha

TechAlum - congrats on your loss this week and the smaller dress size!

Jhawk - I hope your feeling better. I'm sure you'll get back on track as soon as your feeling completely well. I'ts really hard trying to stay O.P. when your sick. I know when I'm sick I'm such a big baby and want to comfort myself with food.

Beware the Ides Of March.....

Well WI on Tuesday went OK I lost 0.4, so I guess I didn't meet my goals for the month, weight wise I'm down 0.2, I haven't been journaling and I haven't been eating my veggies. :o Oh well next months a new one. :D

Rabbit - Hope WI is good to you tonight. :) I'm up for an Easter goal. Although I'm not sure what I'll do since this was a flop.

Freesha - 2 lbs :eek:. Congrats on the journaling that's one of the hardest things for me.

OK, here I am with my weigh in results. I loss 1.5 pounds, which I'm thrilled about. It was my gain from the last couple times I weighed in, but atleast it is gone.:)

Starting weight - 170.75
Ending - 170
Goal - 165.75

So, I didn't meet my goal, but will keep trying for the next one. Hope you all see better results!

I didn't weigh in this morning...I was in my car driving to work before I remembered it was WI day. :dizzy: It is probably just as well, as I have had another "challenging" week. I am devoting my weekend to get my personal and professional life organized and next week has just GOT to be better. (Yes, I have been saying the same exact thing for the last three to four weeks and yes, I am losing it!) :?:

I made exactly NO progress toward my SFD goal. I need to really kick it in for easter. I will need to be a WW :angel: I'm gonna seriously ponder what my goal will be over the weekend...I think I'm gonna do lbs. and inches. Hope I can remember to measure myself.
