GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's three to read:D
Keep going. You've come all this way, invested irreplacable time. Don't stop now. Each moment brings you closer and closer to the success you desire. Each action ensures that you will get there that much sooner.
Have you ever wondered how many people give up when they are just a week, or a month away from finally succeeding? What a shame! What a waste!
Keep on going. Determination will prevail over any obstacle. Consistent effort will win out over genius, luck and talent. When things get difficult, it's probably because you're starting to make a difference. Continue doing it. Keep up the effort. You'll soon be there.
-- Ralph Marston

ENERGY OF FRUSTRATION
Within every frustration is the power to move forward. After all, you could not be frustrated if you did not also know for certain that things could indeed be better.
The more frustrated you feel, the more you are ready, willing and able to move beyond that frustration with positive and effective action. Though it may be quite painful, frustration also is a powerful motivator.
Frustration has its positive, empowering elements as well as its negative, dismaying ones. Remove the resentment and self pity from your frustration, and what you have left is pure, positive energy. Remove the anger and the blame, and you uncover drive, ambition, persistence. Not only can frustration spur you into action and keep you going, it can do so in ways that enable you to clearly focus on what needs to be done.
When there is frustration, there is opportunity. Where there is frustration, there is an underlying positive energy that's anxious to spring into action. Don't let your frustration get the best of you or get you down. Instead, know that it's positively compelling you to move forward, and make use of the considerable energy that your frustration gives you to do just that.
-- Ralph Marston

Are you on fire for your dream? Is it the first thing you think of in the morning and the last thing you think of at night? It should be. Keeping your dream in the forefront of your mind keeps it in the forefront of your life. And this in turn builds
your enthusiasm for reaching your goals. In short, don't slack
off in visualizing your happiness. Get totally involved in the
process of creating your happiness by starting from within.
Believe in yourself and your dream. Visualize your happiness.
Do it. Every day.

TOP OF THE MORNIN' TO YA SUGAR FREE SWEETIES!!
MEL, YEAH!!!! HOT DIGGITY DOG!!!!! When/Where are you flying in?? What do you need?? Details.....we want details!! Oh, I can't tell you how happy I am to get to meet you!
RONNIE - It is like a group of people in a room with conversation going on. Just jump in anytime. NOthing is too stupid or silly to say. You can reply to someone in particular or no one in particular - makes no difference to us, we just like to hear from each other. We do become like family, though. (just a warning :s: ) In fact, in January a group of us are meeting in Orlando to cheer on MEL and DEBBIE in the WDW HALF MARATHON! We're going to feast on SB Legal foods at my house on Friday, play together on Saturday and LEAD CHEERS for MEL and DEB on Sunday! It will be a full week-end.
Sunday was our first EARTHDOG competition with Vixen. They dig these tunnels in the ground and put rats in a cage at one end of the tunnel and you put the dog in at the other end and he has to smell his way to the rats and then bark, scratch, growl, otherwise annoy the rats (which he can't get to) for 30-90 seconds, depending on the level your dog is at. The courses are also more comoplex as the levels get more complex. Well, Vixen has never seen a rat, much less smelled one before, but she knew the judge (her breeder) and chose to try to play with Teri rather than go into some dark hole for some smelly rats.
We hung out all day with some great people and dogs. BOB, there were lots of variations of SKEETER there - long haired ones, short haired ones, wire haired ones....WEINERS EVERYWHERE! (None as cute as SKEETER, though!) A tired puppy is a good puppy and this one slept all the way home, all night long and went into her crate without even being asked this morning to sleep some more. I'm scared to see her when I get home after re-charging her batteries.
CHRIS - :( I can't see your gingerbread masterpieces. I am sad. I'm sure they are beeee-you--teeeee-fullllll!
 I have to get busy and get some work done. I'll try to check in later.

Morning!
Today is going to be hellacious. It is my oldest's birthday...and he gave me a multicourse dinner menu he wants tonight! I have to go shopping, and bake a cake and then cook all this stuff! After the busy weekend, I really wanted to just rest and read today. There is no rest for the wicked....:)
Speaking of wicked, I did not stick to my no starchy carb servings over the weekend, and bingo, the pounds popped back on and brought a friend! I don't have time today to be discouraged. I have too much to do! Maybe I will fall apart tomorrow...
SOL: I don't blame your puppy for not wanting to dig a hole and go after a couple smelly rats! Can't wait until January! We are hoping to make it in early enough on Friday to make the get together at your house.
Ok, off to shop and cook and clean....any one free today, come on over and help!

That MM Frustration post really hit home. I've been so frustrated for the last 6 months or so, making what seems like NO progress. Just can't shake these last 10 pounds of fat no matter what I do. And I was up 3 pounds this morning, despite eating OP all weekend and a 5 1/2 mile run on Saturday. Grrrrrr.....
Sol- I'm excited too! I'm flying into Orlando Thursday evening, will rent a car and hopefully stay at the same hotel at Deb's Discount Rate. Then flying out mid-morning on Monday. Staying the extra 2 nights was far cheaper than the much higher airfare for more convenient dates. I'm trying to get into running condition in 5 very short weeks now! I've been doing a lot of bodybuilding type lifting, but not much running. Don't want Deb to have to drag me the last 5 miles
Monet- Can't he take a raincheck on the dinner???? You still sound exhausted. I know it's a tradition (we do the same thing here), but really, you're still sick. Surely he's old enough to realize that waiting a few days for you to recuperate will not scar him for life. And if it does, tell him to "save it for his therapist!" Sometimes YOU have to come first.
Chris- I can see your gingerbread houses, they are gorgeous. I've been to the show at Peddlers' Village, maybe I've seen them in the flesh, so to speak.
Linworth- My dd lives in a townhouse in Olentangy Commons. Palatial for student housing, as far as I'm concerned. But the house she was going to live in off High St. got burglarized last year while one of the girls was at home, and there was a rape in the alley behind the house. All the girls were petrified to live there again. Joys of an urban campus! Plus, I was just as happy to have her further away from N. High St! She lived on north campus her freshman year and hated it- made no friends except the lacrosse team and some ice hoceky players. For some reason that year, they put some of the atheletes and all of the international students on north campus, and it was not a good mix. Apparently, south campus is the place to be for freshman. I'm sure your son is enjoying it.
Good morning everyone else! Gotta go to work.

Good Monday Morning Everyone:wave:
Whew! It's been a rough morning. Woke up and as usual on Monday mornings I come straight to the computer to get the new weekly board up and running. I couldn't get on line, and when I did, AOL wouldn't fully load. It took me over a half an hour and lots of cursing at a piece of garbage to finally get the board up. I didn't have time to post the poll until later it took me so long! Needless to say I will be working on hooking up the new computer to the phone line sometime in the next day or so, until then, bear with me!
Made myself get out and walk/jog today. I wasn't really motivated to go along with it being hot, humid, threat of rain, very windy, warm body still lying in bed, etc. etc. but out I went and it wasn't all that bad. Just didn't want to start the week off the wrong way. It's raining here now, so got it done just in time.
I have lots to do this week, basically, it's going to be lots of housework. I REALLY have to get things in order for not only obvious reasons of TRISH, MELF & ROSE coming in next month, but also because I just found out my cousin Richard and his girlfriend are coming in the 28th and are probably going to stay with us while they are here, having all the family come over NY Day for lunch, that's about 30 people (this time I don't plan to start a fire in the stove like last year!) PLUS, I am going to have a garage sale on Dec. 21st to get rid of all the stuff I just HAD to have and now need to get rid of for one reason or another (hoping to make some money for O-town!). Geez, could you imagine if I had to contend with Xmas as well - forgettaboutit! I'd really been looney! Really, I need this boost to get me going in the house-it seems to get worse before it ever gets better!
ALSO, this Thursday I made an appt to get my hair done. It's about time. Last time was the first week in March. Needless to say, the gray hairs are popping out all over the place, the roots need to be replanted and my split ends give my frizzy hair that extra special frizzy touch, and the length is WAY too long. I plan to go much more blond and above my shoulder.
At off plany from Friday til last night-trust me, you don't want to know. :^: Back on track today for sure-this I can attest to! Just let all caution be thrown to the wind over the 3 days. See, I can't do 3 hours, 3 days is more my style! :s:
I'm too far behind to try and catch up from the weekends posts, so I hope you all forgive me and understand while I start this week anew.
SOL, I've never heard of such a competition. I don't blame VIXEN for wanting to play instead of going after a rat! I'm hoping you will order us up some wonderful weather in O-town next month! I can't wait to see you (and Vince, of course) and to meet Vixen! Do you remember anything from last year we said were good ideas to do that we saw, like the cowbells, stuff like that?
MONET, sounds like your DS thinks you've recuperated 100%! Don't over do it!!! Sorry, no reason to fall apart over a temp. weight gain, doesn't help. Just eat like you should be and be patient. When we start cutting corners, this is when you see stuff like this possibly happen. I've done it too and just as you, the pounds I lost quickly came right back on just as quick.
MEL, drag you! LOL!!:lo: Yeah, right! You are in far better shape than I will ever be. I'm hoping that I can keep up with you. I'll be in touch with you soon, have a few questions for you about the T-shirts.
CHRIS, I was able to see your webpage and my gosh girl, you are SO artistic! What a wonderful job you do! I would love to see your candles next!
Well, I'm going to fly for now. I want to get at least something accomplished in the house before I have to leave to run a few errands before getting the kids today.
Have a great week everyone!

Good monday morning everyone. I'm baking cookies as we speak for a group I belong to--we will give them to the freshmen on campus. I'm trying to chew gum to avoid tasting the dough, but I have had way too many bites. I can't completely get on track. I keep trying-that's all we can do. Did do taebo gold this a.m.-light workout for me, but all I could muster for a Monday morning.
Mel-Olentangy Commons is very close to where I lived most of my life. It is so pretty and it seems to be kept up very well. I don't blame your dd for wanting to move. I hope OSU can improve the area around campus--it used to not be bad when I was young and I know the university is trying to upgrade things. Did I tell you my ds plays lacrosse-I'm trying to get a team going in SC, mainly because he loves it soo much. I know what you mean about the weight coming on so fast--I am also very discouraged today about my weight. Sometimes I feel like "Why try" since I don't seem to lose.
Debbie-I hope you get your computer hooked up today. What a frustrating morning for you-is that why the Marston post about frustration :) Thanks for leading us along. Good luck on the house too-a garage sale sounds very ambitious.
Sol-The competition sounds like a lot of fun!!
BOB-Was it you who bought pants 2 sizes smaller than your last-that is phenomenal!
I'll check in later.

GOOD MONDAY MORNING TO ALL:)
Well I'm back and I'm not going to take time to sit and think about the last wk. I'm just going forward from here. I need to start getting the house ready for Christmas, and when DH comes home next wk end I want it clean and ready for him to put up my christmas village. I have so many houses that he has to build me a special table for it all. I must get into this christmas season some how. Would like to be up lifting for the GrandKids and DD.
And as for being OP I'm doing my best now. Last wk was then this is now and here I go, right back on track, I couldn't do it without you all, thanks for the Support.

Good morning everyone.
Well, the party Friday night was a huge success, thank you very much. Food was great, but there was a little too much wine at our table if you know what I mean.
Went out Saturday and Sunday to do Chrismas shopping, boy was it a zoo. I did get a lot done, though. Still have a ton left to do.
Better run. I have to leave and go to Seth's DARE graduation. Will try and post more later.

I'm huffing and puffing trying to catch the wagon. I had a horrible weekend as far as eating goes and I haven't gotten off to a good start today. Too many goodies in the workroom. Now I feel crappy mentally and physically.
Went shopping with my sister Sat. and had a great time. Managed to get nearly all the things on my list. She went back Sun morning before church to get something I wanted for James that came in on the truck Sat night. Just a few odds and ends to pick up and I'll be done. :D
RONNIE: Welcome to the board.:)
GLORY: Good to see you back. You're Christmas village sounds wonderful. We're putting the tree up this afternoon. Had plans to this weekend but just never had enough time.
DEBBIE: I noticed after I tried to choose two answers that it didn't work out that way. Only one of them showed up. Good luck with your new puter. I'm looking forward to when we can get one.
MONET: Don't overdo and have a set back.
Oops. Time for class. Later

Hi,
My daughter just left and I am tired but happy that she helped me get so much shopping done. I still have some more presents to buy but I don't feel such pressure now. The first full day of shopping I did not wear my brace and my shoulder was really hurting. I did wise up and put the brace on and felt much better the second and third day of shopping.
I am so excited about the trip to Debbie's and then on to Orlando. I just heard that Trish is also on board and I think more of you should sign up to make an even a bigger party. It is going to be such fun!
Solshine: Can you believe that this is really going to happen?
Debbie: If you would just wait until we all got to your house to clean, we could just take an hour out and it would all be done at once. Doesn't that sound good for us to share the cleaning time? NO? Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing you.
My husband says he is ready to run some errands, so, I'd better scoot for now and I will reply to others later.

GOOD SOGGY MONDAY AFTERNOON!!!!
It's raining buckets over here on the WEST COAST OF FLA!!!
We're supposed to get two to three inches with the rain gettin heavier later on. I needed to get out there and buy wrapping paper, but there was no way I was getting wet for that...will just have to wrap faster tomorrow!
LIN...yes, TWO SIZES SMALLER FOR BOB!!! I've always worn smaller sizes in pants due to having no butt, but having gained this weight that I didn't plan on gaining, my stomach got bigger and I had to go bigger in the pants department!
So YES@!!!! I'm excited!!!
MEL....good going on the good airfare! I don't think there will be any problem in your getting the rate on Thursday night.. They are really nice people that run this hotel and besides...you'll get the breakfast buffet the next morning! Can't wait to see you!
MONET....lock that child in his room!!!! Doesn't he realize that you've been sick and confined to bed for the last six weeks?????

Wow..the board is so slow lately. Debelli was right when she said we would be dropping like flies once the holidays started. I am still hanging in....by my fingernails. Some days are good and some aren't. We have so many activities surrounded by food as Baptists! Being married to a Pastor that talks about food as a hobby doesn't help either! We are having a cookie exchange this week with the ladies and so my daughter and I are making 14 dozen cookies and will come home with 12 different dozen ( 2 dozen are for the table that night ) I am pretty excited because I am making 2 new kinds...Peanut Butter Cups and Laura Secord Bon Bons...these are non-bake but very cute in little petit fours papers to be extra festive.
BOB- I think you are doing awesome!! Way to go.
LKF, TONI....I haven't seen you posting. Mind you, I haven't been posting either!
Welcome to the newbies. Baby that I am babysitting for just started to cry so I gotta run. Just wanted to say hello.

Good morning!
Yucky, rainy weather. The "princess" does not like to get her paws wet and has to be placed in the yard to "do her business". Got me up at midnight last night and would not go anywhere because it was raining so hard. I was expecting to see a puddle in the bedroom this morning, but, alas she must have crossed all 4 legs praying it wouldn't be raining when we got up.
Earthdog is actually lots of fun for the dogs. This is what they were bred and trained for so it's really based on natural instinct. If any of you watch Animal Planet it's like the Dirt Dog competition they show on there but underground and using live rats. It would be fun to get to watch them work like they do on tv, though.
DEBBIE - We should've written down those ideas. Something neon would help y'all find us and some sort of unique noise maker....Hmmmmmm....lemmee think some more. Maybe flashlights and kazoos? :D We will need to plan our route better and plan to stay on grounds so we don't get locked out like we did last time. I'd hate to miss y'all coming across the finish line! We do have some details to think through, don't we?
LINWORTH - I can't bake cookies....only half of them ever make it to the cookie stage. :o
BOB - WHOO HOO!!! ALRIGHT!! WAY TO GO, GIRLFRIEND!! I'm going to be on you like a Texan on a porkchop when you're here....it HAS to rub off on me, doncha think?
GLORY - Your village sounds wonderfully festive! Do you have the fake snow and all, too? When those kids get around you, you won't be able to resist the festiveness, I'm sure. Kids are great for lifting the mood.
YELLOW - Take care of that arm and collar bone! We need healthy cheer leaders for our 2 Sugar Free Marathoners and the pillow fights!
MUSIC - Amazing how we can really tell the effects that off plan eating has on us, isn't it? Now why is it so hard to resist? :dizzy:
CEEJAY - WELCOME!! You've come to the right place. We talk about more than SB as you can tell - I consider it a FULL SERVICE CENTER. :D Ask any questions and jump on in.
GRACIOUS - It will pick up in January and there will be too many people to keep up with. It's a nice ebb and flow here. I just got an idea....
DEBBIE - How about one of our questions being "How long have you been posting on the SB Weekly Support Threads?" You and BOB are probably the most veteran posters, right?
GATORGAL - Where are you?!?!?! I know you'll be bringing something scrumpdilicious to the PAR-TAY!!
 Gotta run! Have a great day!

Welcome Ceejay. There are lots of friendly people here with a whole lotta knowledge. I hope you will join us.
Gracious-I can only imagine all the temptations with food at your church. Have fun at the cookie exchange and don't eat too much. Your selections sound yummy.
Sol-it's raining here too. It's pretty dreary. My cookie baking was a disaster for my eating. I couldn't resist the dough. I am not planning on doing anymore baking. Although dh wants me to make candy for about 20 people at his office. I love your tree.
Happy Tuesday everyone--

Happy Tuesday Gang!
I forgot to tell you all that I would be away Monday. DH and I took the day off to shop. We usually shope for me:D and I did get a couple things, but we have decided to buy a home gym instead this year. So now I have no excuse not to look the avatar under Mel's name. I am hoping to tone up all this flabby skin by summer and finally get to goal. I have decided not to worry about losing any more until after Christmas. My walking has ceased due to time and cold and I am still working with weights, but not as enthusiastically (sp). So if I can maintain until the new year I will be happy. The scale was up today. I'm not worrying about it. It will come back down. probably not by tomorrow though.
Got alot of shopping done, but still have about 12 more things to pickup. I need to get serious about this soon.
No time to go back and read the weekend posts, so I started from Monday. Glad it has been slow.
Solshine, that was so cute about your puppy. She knows rats are yucky!
Monet, No time to help cook and clean, but can I come for dinner?
Mel, Don't worrya bout those mysterious 3 lbs. I had them this morning too.
Deb, can't wait to seepics of the new "do". Sounds like you are going to be Merry Maid for awhile. Come on down, mine could use it too.
Linworth, Have the cookies got you yet? It is so hard to do. I hope my DD doesn't want to bake this year. Last year I had no problems, never even licked a finger, but don't know if I can be as strong this year.
Glory, My boss fives us a Department 56 village piece each year for Christmas. I now have 13. I love them. This year I put them around my tree so I can enjoy them.
Trish, I seem to have the same problem with the wine as you do!!
Music, The wagon is slowing down, jump right back on!
Yellow, better wear that brace and not overdo. You don't want to be laid up completely.
Bob, I must have missed something over the weekend. You are down 2 sizes? WTG  Keep up the good work. I haven't wrapped one thing yet. HELP!
Ceejay, Welcome. SB is a great WOE. You won't miss that sugar at all. This is a great board for support. So jump right on in and let us get to know you.
Gracious, 12 dozen cookies. No way could I bring those home. Give them away.
Have a great day.

Good morning
Just checking in to say Hi to everyone. The scale wasn't too kind to me this morning but then I wasn't surprised. I was at a party on Saturday and ate off plan after being good all week. Then yesterday I went to a party at work and had a scrumptious meal. Most of what I ate was op but I know I ate way too much. At least there were a variety of salads and vegetables, more than you find at most of these events. The main thing I ate off plan was the stuffing so maybe not really too bad. I also had a couple of glasses of red wine, but I think that is considered legal. :). I was surprised that my new pants still fitted me this morning.
Monet - How did the birthday dinner go? I hope you gave that guy a raincheck. It was a little inconsiderate of him to expect so much of you after beeing sick for so long. Hope you didn't overdo things yesterday.
Trish - Luckily no one was hurt when I smashed the car up. I'm still driving a rental vehicle but hope to get mine back to-day or tomorrow.
Have to run. My daughter just arrived and we are going out shopping. She is looking for some kitchen furniture.
Bye for now.
Marie.

Morning!
No, I did not give my son a raincheck! You have to weigh these things, and he needed a big bang for his birthday yesterday more than I needed to rest. He tends towards getting depressed, and we were trying to head that off. He was very happy with the dinner, and his present, and I think it made a big difference in his overall mood and attititude. He runs a cellphone store in the mall, so he is always stressed this time of year too. Dinner worked out fine, a big mess, but fine. I have almost finished cleaning the kitchen, and getting the dishes washed and put away. My older daughter is coming over later to help me. She almost broke her thumb yesterday getting a tree with her younger sister. The two of them were like a couple of stooges getting the tree home! My son's comment was, that is what happens when you send a couple of girls to do a daddy's job! And the poor daddy was not feeling well, and taking a nap while the 'kids' (all adults, mind you) were making a mess of getting the tree in the stand and up. Never a dull moment around here!
I was not good last night. Dinner was ok, but the cake was not, and I ate a piece. I am not even going to look at the scale today!
I have a meeting here tonight, so I guess I better get cleaning!
Hey, Fillise! Are you coming to Atlanta today? I never heard from you!

GALS COMING TO ORLANDO our room reservations are booked and confirmed! I will more than likely give you all a telephone call with the details on the rooms, either that or an e-mail if you're hard to find at home in the evening.
Tonight is chat - is anyone planning on joining in or should we postpone chats until after the New Year? LMK!
Gotta run - hugs to you all!:grouphug:

Cold Rainy Tuesday--ick!
Monet--sorry for not getting ahold of you. My friend's surgery has been postponed for a few days so I'm not coming today. When she lets me know when it will be, I'll let you know! I'm looking forward to seeing you!
BOB--WTG on the 2 sizes smaller jeans! That's such a great feeling! I've got to get wrapping too--but I guess I have to actually buy the presents first--I'm really procrastinating this year--Christmas Eve is two weeks from today---YIKES!
Gracious--I find that the church is my biggest stumbling block to weight loss too! Everytime I turn around someone is pushing something sweet at me! We had a dinner Sunday night--I had two Bible study groups that I lead yesterday--all with Christmas sweets--This time of year I really feel successful if I maintain and don't gain!
Rosalie--I hope you get your car back soon! I'm with you on all those parties--this time of year is tough!
Jack-K--WTG on the home gym! Sounds like a good investment to me!
Sol--LOL at you having to place the "princess" on the grass to do her business! The competition sounds like fun. I love watching those things on Animal Planet!
Ceejay52--Welcome! Just jump right in and don't be afraid to ask questions!
Deb--It sounds like you have really got the Orlando thing organized! I'd love to be there, but have to work that weekend.
I hope everyone has a great day!

It is always such a treat to come to the board and see all your posts. You ladies are such and encouragement and help through the struggles of staying OP.
Jack-K I hear ya about maintaining. I'm still up a pound from last week. And 4 from my all time low. But if I can hang here till I start walking again..and watching what I eat. I've found myself sneaking one too many bites of this and that......and I KNOW better.
Solshine Your puppy sounds like my mom's babies...spoiled rotten..but you gotta love em.
CeeJay WELCOME! These are the people you will ever meet to motivate, encourage and help you along your sugar free journey.
Monet What a precious mom you are to do that for your son. We cook special meals on the b-days too. Something about it makes the kids feel extra special. Hubby too, he ALWAYS wants lazagna on his day. Good thing he likes the whole wheat in it..LOL I only make it about twice a year...his day being one of them.
Rosalie Morning...I can't blame ya...stuffing is what got me at Thanksgiving....yum yum
Gracious Your cookie exchange sounds wounderful. This is such a hard time of year with all the goodies. I'm putting off making the things I should have already started.
Music hang in there....all the goodies will dry up come January...:) tell yourself every day..they are yucky...LOL
Bob You are da bomb! Two pants sizes is wonderful! Go Bob shake your booty!!!!
Trish the wine sounds good....but it gives me a headache even if I drink just a couple of sips. I too need to take a trip to the "zoo" I have two of the five kids to finish up with.
Glory Morning to you too! Hope you are having a wounderful day.
Lin.... I hear ya.....that was me and the divinity the other day.
Yellowrose Howdy! Your excitement over the upcoming trip is contagious. I'm not able to go but will be with ya'll in spirit.
Deb You go woman! If only I could catch your ability to push through and get my butt in gear.
I hope I didn't miss anyone. Each of you is of value and an important part of the group. Those of you that are missing are in my heart and prayers.
Love,
Crystle

My solution to cookie exchanges is to just be anti-social and not go. I don't want to bake 'em, eat 'em, or have them in the house. I think I've lost a few friends and puzzled a few more over my lifestyle, but if it was only based on consuming unhealthy foods together, then it wasn't worth saving. I've made so may other friends in the process, it makes up for it. I do understand that some of you HAVE to go, tho (like Gracious). I'm going to a big splashy party on Saturday night tho, and have no plans to stay 100% op (my plan is really different from everybody elses). I'll probably try to stay SF and skip desserts, but I'm having wine more carbs than I've seen in months! Then it's back on track Sunday! We are even staying over at the hotel where it's being held. What fun! (no kids  )
Ceejay- Welcome! This is a great place for advice, support, and friendship.
Bob-Congrats on the new pants! 2 sizes, no less!
Monet- Hope you're feeling ok today and yesterday didn't do you in. What a good mom you are. I would have gone with the raincheck.
Jack-k- Have fun with your new gym. That's a great present. BTW- I don't look anything like my avatar  That envisome physique belongs to a Dutch bodybuilder whose name escapes me at the moment. She won Ms. Olympia in '96 and just about every other title in the world. I would love to have her legs and abs! In my dreams.....
Sol- My dog hates the rain and snow, too. She won't go out in it unless I go with her, and she's too darn big to pick up and heave out into the yard. I've had to shovel a path thru the snow for her in the yard to her "potty" area because she didn't like it when her paws sank. :dizzy:
Time to go- gotta get in a run and do some more work! I'm ready to retire. But my bank account isn't :(

SOLSHINE- I had a Border Collie that I took to Agility Training and she just loved it. Running, climbing and jumping over stuff...she was in her element!
LINWORTHLADy- Regarding my selections for the cookie exchange...the Peanut Butter Cups turned out awesome! Yes, I tried them. The Laura Secord Bon Bons which are coconut mixed with thick cream then dipped in white chocolate were troublesome. I had a hard time dipping them so I ended up just decorating each with a flower on top kind of thing.
JACK-K- I have to bring them home, I do a lot of entertaining over the holidays. However, I also give a variety plate of cookies to many of my neighbours so they don't all stay here.
Good call on getting a home gym!
MONET- Hi!
FILLISE- Oh yes, church is not an easy place to lose weight in! Everything we do seems to revolve around food. We also had a big dinner this weekend and I ate all sorts of things....I am looking forward to the new year and starting out yet again. :)
COUNTRYMOM- Funny thing is, I am now just starting to get into baking and learning how to really cook for taste rather than survival, if you know what I mean. I am really enjoying this cookie thing and have made 2 other kinds as well.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to touch base and read everyone's posts. I have been going through some personal problems lately and have been pretty depressed. I've been watching my carbs and losing weight so that is something positive in my life.
My Mom held my sister's birthday party on Sunday and my Mom got me a low carb SF ice cream cake to eat along with their Dairy Queen cake. It's nice that I have so much support from my family.
Chris: Your Gingerbread houses looked so amazing. You are truly talented. Thanks for sharing those pictures.
Mel: I look forward to meeting you in Orlando. I used to play Lacrosse and Field Hockey when I lived in West chester back when I was in the 7th and 8th grades. Then in the 9th grade, my family moved us back to Texas and they didn't offer those sports in the South. I never played sports again because Softball was just too boring after playing LaCrosse (the fastest sport on 2 feet)
Crystle: I can smell your baking already.
Monet: I know how you feel, it is very important to try and make your children's birthday as special as you can since they won't be that age ever again...
Solshine: Vixen sounds like a cutey. I'm glad he had a good time at the Earthdog event.
Debbie: I can't wait to see your new hairstyle. You're going to look so gorgeous as a blonde...
Welcome Ceejay!
Bob: Congatulations on getting smaller pants on. It's the coolest thing, ain't it?
Jackie: Your new gym sounds like fun!
Hi to Gracious, Lyn, Linworthlady, Trish, Glory, Fillise, Rosalie, Tina, and anyone else I forgot to mention.

Denise-Sorry things aren't going too well. I'm impressed that you are still losing in spite of everything though.
Mel-I don't blame you about avoiding cookie exchanges. Have fun at the party. Do you have a sexy new dress?
Rosalie-Those pounds will be off soon. Are your clothes still fitting well?
Deb-I would chat if anyone else wants to.
Monet-The birthday dinner sounds like fun. That's nice that your kids helped you with the tree. It also gives them much needed experience.
Hi to everyone. I might not weigh this week because of the cookie fiasco but I will be checking in regularly.

Hi
It's raining and sleeting here. Yuk! Is is summer yet? Had to go out to a meeting and got in all that mess. The drive home will probably be crazy too.
Don't know what's wrong with me today, but I'm starving. Can't find any "legal" goodies in the office to eat. At least dinner is ready when I get home. Hope this passes soon.
Rosalie, These holidays can be killers to the diet. Just stay on track the best you can. It's better to stray and get back on then to stray way off the path.
Monet.Glad your DS's dinenr was great. We do what we have to do no matter. Don't overdo cleaning up. Wait for some help.
Deb, I'm gonna try to make it to chat unless I get out shopping and don't make it home in time. Have a great day with Eli.
Fillise, thanks for the reminder that Christmas Eve is 2 weeks away. :yikes:
Country, we have come too far to stop now. Let's just make it through the holidays and then move full speed ahead towards our goal.
Mel, I really don't want to look like your avatar. I don't like all those muscles but would like to have those abs. That party sounds great. Especiallys taying at the hotel & NO KIDS!
Gracious, OK you can bring them home, just give them all away! Be careful, I'm watching you.
Denise, sorry abut your problems. Good for you though staying on track through them all. It's great you have support from your family. I find that friends seem to always have something I can eat when I go to their house and my family too. I guess they know I'm serious about this after this long. Hope things look up for you soon.
Linworth, sometimes facing the scale shocks you into being good.
Have a great night. I'll try to make it to chat. Good luck to everyone on WIW.

Hey, everyone! Gosh, I miss all of you! And welcome to all the newcomers who don't even know me!
Gracious, and all who I didn't see commenting on my missing posts, thanks for missing me. It's been crazy at work but I am still a devoted SugarBuster and loving the program more every day.
I went to the doctor last week and was disappointed to learn that my cholesterol was HIGH! 239!!! I know that is borderline but I really thought after four months of devoted following of the SB plan and feeling as wonderful as I do that I would have a good report on all statistics! The SB book says it should help the cholesterol level. The doctor was thrilled with my weight loss since the last doctor's visit but, of course, when she learned that I was on SB, she started poo-poo'ing it and said I should get on WeightWatchers instead...sigh.
Anyway, I can't stay long but my love to you all and any of you who have ideas about how long it should take on SB to see a positive effect on cholesterol, I'd love to hear what you think. I'll do my best to pop in more often and keep in better touch with y'all.

Hey everyone! I have been such a stranger but it has been a busy few months for me. At the end, my friend is married, so is my brother and I've taken a vacation to mexico. I have absolutely gone off SB, but I have been able to maintain my weight since I reached my goal weight. Not feeling so hot lately so I have decided to get back to the gym and to try to eat better. One thing that I can say that I have permanently changed since starting SB is that I only eat WW bread. Before I never touched the stuff. It's cool how things stick if you keep at it.
Office parties equal donuts and cookies, and although I do indulge every once and a while, I'm not running to the cookie table like i was this summer. I know that this weather allows us to get lazy and soft..i can't let that happen!! I think I've already gained like 3 pounds of pure fat..it's all in my butt!! The worst thing is that my mom works for the poppycock/fiddle faddle company..when I go home..it's just sitting there!! Can you imagine? Grapefruit season is arriving..can't wait to start eating those for breakfast...
Anyway I'm babbling. Hope you are all well..I'm off to the gym!

Happy Weigh In Wednesday Morning Everyone:wave:
Okay, I know, same song, different day. Was coming home to exercise then post and clean but plans changed, Michael called me on my way home after I already dropped them at school claiming he needs an important paper due today. So, needless to say, I have to go jump in the shower (sure can't go in to the school the way I look right now, nor the way I'm dressed) and get dressed and go there, totally screws up all my plans and my day. I have things to do down that area and now I'll have to do them this morning vs early afternoon when I had planned. Thus, I don't have time to catch up as intended with you all this morning:shrug:
As for WIW, I'm not going anywhere near the scale - we'll leave it at that.
Will try to get back later today but don't hold your breath. Michael is bringing his friend XIMENA home to work on the computer and I doubt I'll be able to get within 10 feet of the thing. Another reason I wasn't at chat last night, came home with ELI and Michael was on the computer already and late in to the night - sorry, it was beyond my control everyone. Well, maybe they won't be able to get in the computer room-was planning on cleaning in here today:s:

Whoo-hoo! The blowout punds are gone and I'm back down to where I was 3 weeks ago (don't know whether to smile or frown here). I credit eating totally clean and buckets of water. Don't forget your water! I hope to have 2 more gone by the time I meet you all. Don't wanna drag any extra weight around Disney.
Hope everyone else has a good WIW.
I am a little worried that this is the point at which I've sabotaged myself every time I've reached it, but I've just got to stay focussed on GOALS. Every little deciision counts, every lick counts, only smelling allowed

I didn't hop on the scale this morning although that was an accident. I was just rushing to get ready for the kids to arrive that I am babysitting today. However, I know it is up due to TOM and well, you know ...so I am not sad that I missed it!
DENISE- Sorry things aren't going well for you but kudos for eating on plan through it all.
JACK-K- Still starving. I am sure you found something legal to satisfy you, you are the SB's Poster child!
LKF-Good to see you! It is great that you are still being faithful to SB even while away from the board here...wish I could say the same!!
BOB- Holy crow BOB, another 3 lbs?!?! Are you just following SB? You have some tricks up your sleeves there or what?
I am off to get the kitchen tidied up. Have a great WIW y'all!

Happy WIW Gang,
Hope the scale is good to you. It was not to me. Up 2 lbs. Oh well, not going to let it get me down. Haven't had enough water and enough fruit the last 4 days. Need to get focused.
Went to chat last nite. I think. Wasn't sure I was in the right place or not. I don't like the new format. I want our own room. Don't like having everyone in the same room. If I was in the right place, I didn't see any other SB there. Too much going on right now.
LKF, Good to hear from you. Glad you dr was pleased with your wt loss. My Dr. asked what I was doing and immiediately said WW? Everyone says they same thing. You know it is healthy and it is working. That is all that matters. Can't help on the cholesterol. Mine is low. Drop in when you can, we miss your upbeat posts.
Quiv, what a coincidence, I was just thinking about you the other day. I thought sure you were gone for good. No diet works unless you change your eating habits and you can't go back to all the bad habits. Glad some SB principles have stuck with you. Get back on here and the wagon before you gain more.
Bob, Woo Hoo, 3 lbs. You have got it girl! Stand up and turn around and let us look at you. Fabulous Dahling! I'm sure you will lose 30 lbs by the time for the get together. Keep up the good work. Doesn't it feel great???? When you come home in May we MUST get together. I will be crazy that week, DD get married the next Friday.
Deb, the things we do for our kids. Gotta love them. I made it to chat (I think). No one from SB showed up. Is everyone in the same room now? Really wasn't sure if I was in the right place or nt. There were 3 other gals there don't know from where though.
Mel, Woo Hoo is right. WTG on kicking those extra pounds out. I don't think I can even smell anything this year.
Gracious, you are too sweet. I did finally steal some cheese from a co-worker. I came prepared today. Ate too many cashews last nite.
Got to run and get some work done. Later

Hey, y'all! So good to read posts from everyone. I feel like I have remained part of the gang because you welcome me back every time I get a change to pop back in!
BOB, I've just had too much work on me here at the office (the only place I touch a computer) to be able to post like I love to...Bear Bryant...who's he? You mean the guy that's still such a legend here still? I know a lot of people would sure love to have him back...just can't seem to keep a loyal coach at the University any more. But I'm not too much into that stuff, anyway.
Gracious, have you been having a rough time through the Holidays? You said you wish you could say the same when referring to my staying on program, like you had been having trouble doing it. Well, hang in there...remember, it's Christmastime and there's so much going on. I think we would all do great if we just maintained and didn't gain during December!
Jack-K, has your cholesterol always been low? That's wonderful that you don't have this problem. I think the bulk of the problem is inherited...sigh. But I had hoped SB would help me with that.
Off to work, y'all. Everyone, take care and enjoy the wonderful Holidays without indulging all those cookies and cakes sitting around everywhere. We don't need them in order to have a good time!

I'm not going near the scales today. I've been too bad and feel too puffed up. I know what direction it will head.:o Gotta get back to lots of water. Chug, chug, chug. We've had an interesting week here at school. Last week part of our walkway outside the cafeteria collapsed and now they have closed the cafeteria for fear that the ceiling will fall in there too. So now we have to trudge to the back side of the campus to eat in the gym.:fr: Should be fixed when we come back to school in Jan.
LKF: Good to hear from you again. Don't be a stranger.
JACKIE: Join me in the water guzzling. I haven't had much the last week. All tea and diet soda.:o
BOB: You go girl.:cb: Send some motivation and determination my way.
QUIV: Good to hear from you again too. It's good that you haven't gained from being off plan. But you know you feel better when you're sugar free. I'm preaching to myself here too. I've been baaaaad lately. As for the cholesterol issue....my friend's brother, who is a dr., says that most of that is genetic and you can't do a whole lot about it. Who knows?
Must go. Time for students to arrive. Don't really feel like teaching today. But the show must go on.

I'm STARTING my Christmas shopping today... yea you read it right..LOL. So that will be some good walking and aerobic activity. I'm also drinking plenty of water for these 14 days and hopefully beyond! I want to be 170 by Christmas, but I want to be UNDER 170 by New Years!!!
OK... I'm hitting the shower and putting on my battle gear to head to the mall. I'll post more later!

Good morning everyone. Well, it seems that I'm with the majority in not getting on the scales this morning. TOM is here and boy do I feel bloated. I've been on again, off again with my eating, but better over the last couple of days (probably too much volume). I just want to get through the holidays without gaining a bunch like I usually do. I'm still exercising so that in itself is better than a year ago. I have started eating oatmeal at breakfast with a little sugar free granola that I found at the low-carb store. That seems to fill me up longer than other breakfasts that I was eating. I don't know how I went so long without eating breakfast. Now if I don't have something, I'm starving by mid-morning. The granola is mostly nuts and seeds so it's kind of weird to eat by itself, it doesn't really hold together like real granola and it's probably a little high in fat. It's great mixed in granola or in applesauce. It was pretty expensive, but a little goes a long way.
Our poor doggie has a cold. Joe gave him a bath this week-end (in the shower) and I think he got chilled. If he's not better this evening, we'll probably have to take him to the vet. He looked as pitiful as one of our kids when they're sick.
I think this shopping thing will never end. Seems like I just keep getting people added to my list. I just found out that Jordan's girlfriend's parents have gotten us something. We hardly know them, but I guess I'll find something. I probably see a wine basket in their future.
LKF - I'm so glad to see you back. I feel bad for the 'Bama players. Here's their coach saying "stick it out, show you're committed to the team, it'll get better" and what does he do but up and leave for the first better offer that comes along. I wonder what kind of message that's sending to the Texas A&M players. Oh well, I think they deserve each other. On the cholesterol issue, don't let it get you down. There are some people that just have high cholesterol levels regardless of what they eat and how much they exercise. We have a friend that has a 2% (or at least he looks it) body fat, eats all the right stuff and still has a cholesterol level that is way high. That actually didn't sound as encouraging as I meant it to, but my point is that you know you've adopted a healthy WOE and how much better you feel, and that's what counts.
BOB - You're just wasting away, girl. At the race, we're probably going to have to sit on you to keep you from blowing away.
Jack-K - Looks like you guys are getting hammered with nasty weather. Keep it up there, will ya. It's just been rainy and cold here, no sleet.
Gracious - More power to you for dealing with all those cookies and not eating them.
Lin - I'm just like you, I'd be eating the dough like crazy. That's better than the cookies.
Sol - My office mate thought I was nuts when I started laughing hysterically at the thought of you carrying "the princess" out to do her business. What do you mean get locked out?! I smell a story here.....
Mel - Have fun at the party!! I'm rooting for Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl (sorry Deb). Those 'Canes are just getting a little too mouthy for my liking.
Deb - Is my room ready yet? Lyn, Mary and I do get our very own room at chalet Deb don't we??? Just kidding. Don't go to any trouble for us, please. We're just so excited to be coming.
Denise - Sorry things are not going well for you. Let us know if we can help at all.
Quiv - Welcome back.
Music - Hope no one was hurt when the school came tumbling down. Is it an old school? This is the time of year that I really feel for you teachers. I'm sure the kids have got to be just bouncing off the walls. Seth's choir concert is next Tuesday. He's getting real excited.
Beth - Good luck at the mall!! 4 pounds, 2 weeks, you can do it! Get BOB to send over some of her good Karma!!
Have a great day everyone.

I hope everyone is having a good morning today!
I'm still in the midst of holiday struggles--I'm fine as long as I'm left to my own devices--but once I get around the folks pushing the sugar, I seem to weaken.
Trish--I know what you mean about the shopping that never ends! I am nowhere near to the end of my list!
Beth--You can do it! Be sure to drink lots of water!
Music--Hang in there--it won't be long before Christmas break!
LKF--Welcome back! It's good to hear from you. You know wer are always here for you! Drs know nothing about weight loss! You stick with what works for you! A revised SB book is coming out in two weeks.
BOB--WTG on the 3 lbs!!!!!!! By the Orlando trip you are going to need some even smaller jeans!!!
Got to go--time to get to work and then head to another Christmas luncheon. sigh.

Good morning. I wish that I could say this weeks weight gain is water. But it really isn't. I've been battling the up and down with the scale for the last few weeks. I am up to 157 and my pants are showing it. So...my plans to wait to the first of the year have changed. As of midnight last night I am back OP like I use to be when I first started. That means nothing with malodexadrin except one cup of morning coffee...(I've kinda gotten spoiled to that). No more one bite here and one bite there. Gonna tell myself that no-no's are like poison to my body. I am not gonna let the weight sneak back on. I gonna try to find the time to work out or walk today...no I take that back....I will make the time. It has to be first again.
I'm through Christmas shopping for my kiddos....yeah! Talk about a relief. Now if I can just find the time to get hubby something without him knowing. Kinda hard to do with one car and him working 6 days a week. But if there is a will there is a way. :)
Well I am moving slow and had better get motivated this morning. Hope you all have a GREAT day.
Love,

Trish, you are so sweet and encouraging! Thanks for taking the time to encourage me about my cholesterol. I know much of the troble with it is inherited...I had just hoped it would lower with this WOE and it may still lower the longer I stay with it! I plan to make SB a way of life and continue to feel fabulous while I lose weight and I am trusting that all the numbers will improve as I lose more on this wonderful plan.
Fillise, thanks for the scoop on the new SB book coming out in a couple of weeks! You can be sure I'll be one of the first ones to pick it up!
BOB, I failed to note that you had lost another 3 pounds! I am so proud of you!!! Congratulations on doing so well...ain't this plan the greatest?!
Country, you are positively right to get back to strictly adhering to SB...I have not been able to be on-line as much as I want to so I didn't know you had quit adhering to it so carefully...and it looks like your appetite has increased (as we were told it would when you cheat any at all) to want stuff we don't belong eating. I am convinced that just one bite of something off program is enough to increase our appetites for more and start a battle we will have lots of trouble resisting, ESPECIALLY this time of year with so much stuff around to tempt us. Please, PLEEZE get back to total commitment to this fabulous plan -- you know you feel better and are not tempted to eat junk when you follow it closely.
I was just looking around on-line (can you tell I have a day at work that is less demanding!) and saw a medical study of two groups of teenage boys -- the first group were fed high-GI foods for breakfast and lunch and the second group were fed low-GI foods for breakfast and lunch. The first group were ravenous with hunger and snacked on all the wrong stuff...the second group experienced less hunger and weren't tempted by high-GI foods at all. So it works, girls! We all know it does! And one of the greatest features about the plan is that you experience less hunger -- a major contributor in the success of any eating plan.
Back to work...I enjoyed my break with you all!

Well, I weighed in today at 162 eventhough I usually weigh in on Fridays. I think I will weigh in on Wed and Fridays from now on. Down 2 pounds from last weigh in on Friday. Pretty cool. I basically cut down on my carbs and my weight started to move down. I am into a Misses Size 10 which is awesome. I really have no desire to eat any sugared sweets. Thank you for all your nice messages regarding my personal problems that I am going through right now.
LKF: Nice to see that your back on the board. I hope your cholesterol goes down for you. I wouldn't listen to the doctor about WW and SB...You know SB is the healthier way to go!
Bob: Congrats on losing another 3 lbs! That's great news...
Crystle: Sounds like you got most of your shopping done. That's wonderful. It also sounds like you are back on track now and you won't be letting the weight creep back on you over the holidays. I think you made a wise choice.
Susan: Try and be strong around those sweets. Think about the long term damage.
Trish: That SF granola sounds yummy. I hope your dog feels better soon!
Beth: Hope you make your goal by Christmas! Here's hoping for you...
Tina: Keep drinking your water. That cafeteria roof sounds like a disaster. Hope it gets fixed over x-mas break.
Jackie: Sorry to hear you're up 2 lbs. Don't worry, you'll get back on track today! Like you mentioned, the scale can be a good wake up call.
Mel: Congrats on getting down to where you were before. Whew! What a sigh of relief, huh?
Gracious: Hope all is well with you.
Debbie: Sounds like you're running around as usual. You're a good Mom and it shows!
Quirine: Welcome back and nice to meet you. I hope you consider going back on Sugar Busters as it will only be a matter of time when the weight will slowly creep back on...

Hi just a quicky to let ya all know I'm still here. :)
I've been so busy, DH is still out of town and I've completely cleaned our Bedroom out and now am in the process of moving all of his HO Train stuff and Tools out of the Dinning room into our room so I can put the table back into the Dinning room and then it's on with Christmas. And may he never claim my dinning room again.
I've got to do all the moving today and then tomorrow it's shampoo all the carpet. and tomorrow night the tree goes up. Then when DH gets home we can concentrate on the christmas village. I'm so excited. I've got so many houses I have fake snoww and an ice staking rink with skaters and a minnie nativitie. I have farms and towns I love it. The Kids love it and that's the best part. seeing them get excited does it for me.
I usually put my nativitie set under the tree, but this yr DH wants the train to go there so I have to do a display on top of the entertainment center for the nativitie. When all is done I'll hav DD take pictures and will put them on here for you all to see.
Well gotta run this house is calling me Love to all

Just peaking in to see what is going on. Just finished lunch of chicken wings and strawberries.
LKF, Yes my cholesterol has always been low. I think it is inheirited too because my mom fried every single thing we ate. Try not to work to hard. I remember you weigh the first of the month, YOU HAVE ALMOST LOST 40 LBS. WTG :CB:
Music, It's hard enough on the kids during the holidays then to change their routine really hypes them up. I feel sorry for teachers this time of year. I bet those kiddies can't sit still 5 minutes.
Beth, 4 lbs in 14 days, no problem. You can do it girlfriend. Do some shopping for me will you??
Trish, your poor doggie. Hope he is better soon. You and me both on this shopping thing. I keep finding more and more to buy for. I guess it will get done, it always does. A bottle of wine in a cute little cover is a wonderful idea. I have to eat breakfast too. Don't know how I ever did w/o it. Glad you are still exercising. My walking has stopped but atleast I am still working out. I think we are acatually getting our weather from the south per the weather man so I guess you won't get it. A little north got quite a bit of ice last nite.
Fillise, Just tell people you don't "do" sugar. Then they will quit pushing it. Be strong you will be glad you did.
Country, I love your determination. I hope it is contagious. I know you can do it too. How about order on-line for your DH? Remember YOU come first.
Denise, WTG on the 2 lbs. Wearing a size 10 is awesome. That's what I am wearing too and some 8's. It is such a good feeling isn't it?
Glory, your village sounds so cute, can't wait to see pics.

I'm so bummed! I was legal yesterday and I ate chili with cheese last night for supper. I guess it had alot more salt in it than I would have guessed- I'm 4 pound since yesterday!!! I'm really pissed- sorry but I'm a bit discouraged right now. I still had one pound left on from Thanksgiving and now this! I'm drinking water- but I drank tons of water yesterday and it didn't help. Please send good vibes that in the morning these 4 pounds will be gone as quickly as they appeared. Tomorrow, I'm going to Jackson for Boogie's PC appt- I'm taking my grandmother with me, she rarely gets out of the house unless I take her with me. I just hope I find a legal and satisfying lunch tomorrow while on the road.
BOB- what part of MS are you going to? I live in Meridian.

TRISHALOO- Who said anything about NOT eating those cookies?
MUSIC- You are a teacher....tell us what teachers REALLY want for Christmas gifts from their kids. We all know it is not another tacky mug!! I give Gift Certificates for a restaurant to ours. I figure they deserve a nice lunch out for a change...but what do you think is a good idea?

Heartmom, that chili was probably heavy too. So that can add to the weight. Don't get discouraged, it will come right off. We can't let that stupid scale rule our minds. Keeping my :crossed: that tomorrow it is all gone.

OK. I gave in to one chocolate chip cookie.:nono: I have had lots of water today, so maybe that will help.
More info on the ceiling falling at school. No one was here when it happened, so no one was hurt, thank the Lord. Anyway they have determined that the cafeteria ceiling is the same type as what fell so they are repairing it before it falls too. The kids are wild anyway. They don't need anything else to make it worse.:freak:
GRACIOUS: A gift certificate to eat out sounds great. One year I taught a little girl who's parents owned the local El Chico's. It was a good year.:s:
HEART: Hang in there. I'm in the same boat you are. Two steps forward and four steps back. Hope Boogie gets a good report and have fun with Grandma.:)
JACKIE: You're right, the kids a wild. We're just doing crowd control the next few days. I can't see them soaking up any knowledge right now. On top of that, we have bunches of them out right now with the flu or virus. We had one parent try to drop off a kid yesterday that was throwing up as he was getting out of the car. The teacher on duty had to chase the car down to send the kid back home.
GLORY: Could you come and clean up my house when you're done with yours? Mine is a mess. The tree is up, but the boxes that all the stuff was in is still sitting in the middle of the living room. I haven't put my Nativity scene up the last few years. My SIL made it for me and it's ceramic. I'm afraid little fingers will break it.
DENISE: WTG on losing those 2 pounds. And size 10's. Wow! That's awesome.
COUNTRY: Good luck on getting back to 100% OP. I need to be there too.
TRISH: Is Seth enjoying choir? My 3rd grade choir sings at the bank's open house on Friday. The jr. high choir sings the same day. They are really driving us nuts.
OK. Time to make my kids do homework so we can get to church on time tonight.

Can't wait for 11p.m. to see if I need to call in an quit work in the morning!!! :dizzy:
HEART....I'M COMING TO MERIDIAN!!!!!
We are coming the Friday after Christmas for the weekend leaving on Sunday..My cousin's husband is Duncan Shirley and his Mom still lives there and it's her birthday and it will be a party weekend...email me your phone # and I'll call you and maybe we can get together for a visit!
HERE'S THE PLAN.....I'm not really sure what I'm following right now but I have cut out all white, corn, bread, potatoes...basically eating meat and veggies with some salad...if I need bread, I eat a pita...not really ATKINS, but not really SB either...who cares, it's working....I'm eating grapefruit like crazy while it's in season and I can pick from my neighbor's tree! Drinking more water....
I eat a large protein lunch with a green veggie so most times I'm not hungry at night for supper...I usually just have a snack if I get hungry...After I get some bulk off, I will adjust and do SB only..adding back in some things that are legal for SB but that I'm not eating right now. That's it in a nut shell....
Thanks to all who have wished me well with my loss...I'm sorry I can't address everyone, but I've waited to the last minute and now I have everything to wrap TONIGHT and get it on the road tomorrow!
I'll check in later....

Good morning!
It is gray and cold here in Hotlanta. Monet is longingly contemplating the nice warm bed....
I have been on a whirlwind of activities since last Friday, and I am tired! Last night, I cooked dinner for our small group from church. It was not difficult, but I had to shop and chop and stuff. By the time I was ready for bed, I felt like I could barely move! Today, I have to go pick up flowers for the Drama Boosters to sell tonight. Once that is done, I think I can take tomorrow off! I have gotten little shopping done, and I know next week is going to be a zoo at all the malls around here.
Eating wise, I have been ok, with a couple of indiscretions here and there. The scale is wavering between three pounds, up one day, down the next. I am trying to keep up on the water. Once I get over this horrible fatigue, I am planning on getting back on the treadmill. Hopefully, that will help.
The bed calls, and I must answer....be back later!

Happy Thursday Sugar Busters
I sure thought today was Friday, wish..wish. Cold and rainy here. Went hout last nite and bought a coat for one of the kids my DD has in her after school care. Thought I would help them out this year instead of taking a name from the tree at church. I really like buying for the kids. Still haven't finished my shopping. Hopefully this weekend. Have to finish up my cards too.
The board is relly getting slow. Just too much going on right now, but I don't remember it being this slow last year.
The goodies are rolling in here at work. All the years I was eating junk, we would get tons of fruit. Now that I don't eat junk, we get tons of cookies, candy and little fruit. Go figure.
Cheese, nuts and fruit. I'm stuffing trying to keep away from the sweets. They really don't bother me as much as the chex mix a co-worker makes. It's great. I gave him a recipe that Zanne posted and asked him to make me some of that.
Music, if you stopped at 1 cookie, good for you. It's the binge that follows that gets us. Nice self control. That mom bringing her sick kid would have been me. My rule was fever or throwing up is the only way you miss.
Bob, don't quit your day job, I'm gonna win the lottery, our is 121 million I think.
Bob, what ever you are doing is working for you and as long as you are not bored with it, go for it. It seems to be working great for you.
Monet, sounds like you are trying to do too much. Better take it easy. I just found out that my great nephew who is 18 months has mono. I didn't know little ones could catch that.
Deb, we want pics of that new do.
Off to do some work.

BOB: I'm with you. Eating mostly protein and veggies. I stalled out eating SB for about 3 months...Now that I'm eating mostly protein(meat, chicken, fish) and veggies, I am finally losing again. Yea for us!!!! (I'm still eating the SB WOE, but have cut out a lot of carbs...)

Hi,
I saw my doctor yesterday about my broken collar bone. He says the xrays are not showing calcification yet but he feels that it is healing because the area seems to move as a unit. He says it is in a 'jello' type state just now and I should see more results next month. It did not hurt for him to "push" around on that area or for me to do some exercises until about an hour later. It started hurting so badly then that I had to take some pain medication and that put me out for the rest of the day. The good news is I feel fine today and I have the opportunity to take it easy.
Someone mentioned water and I realize that I have not been good at all about drinking my 2 quarts. This morning I filled up the pitcher and I am working on it. There is something to be said about getting to stay home for a day and get my affairs in order......well somewhat...you know what I mean.
I am off to order some presents online. Hope all is well with all of you.

I can't get over how slow the board is.
Yellow, You need to be careful with that collarbone. You don't want to push yourself and not let it heal right. Yes a day off really helps sometimes. I find I really have a hard time gettin gin all my water on the weekends.
Glory, I know all that cleaning is a burden, but think how pleased you will be when it's all finished and how surprised DH will be. I love to do little things for my DH too, gives me that excited feeling.

The Daily Mail is from London, England.....
Daily Mail - Thursday 5th December
Why I believe Fergie’s diet only make you fatter by Susie Orbach (Author of Fat Is A Feminist Issue)
With its beguiling “before” and “after” photos of weight-loss triumph, the commercial diet industry has traded for too long on our modern obsession with our weight.
Over the years, we’ve been urged to eat less fat, then to eat more fat; to eat more carbohydrates, the to eat no carbohydrates at all.
Diet plans come and go, and with them the happiness and emotional well-being of the millions of people who are sucked into the weight-loss dream.
Now it’s time to make a stand. I have convened a lobbying group, AnyBody, to campaign against the body hatred that is now so endemic to our society.
We’re attacking this problem on many different fronts, one of which is a planned legal action against the diet industry giant Weight Watchers.
We intend to represent thousands of women and men who have paid out many hundreds of pounds to Weight Watchers, only to find that they have ended up fatter than before they embarked on its’ laborious programme of counting “points” and weekly weigh-ins.
I know we will face criticism for even contemplating court action. Critics will argue that this is the compensation culture gone crazy and that those who fail to lose weight have only themselves to blame, because they are greedy people, lacing in will power, whose weight gain has more to do with their predilection for junk food than any flaws in the Weight Watchers’ system.
But the reality is very different. There is sound scientific evidence that suggest that the whole concept of dieting is fundamentally flawed.
Our campaign is not to make loads of money but to challenge the ideas of Weight Watchers and other organisation that are as questionable and even potentially harmful.
I want to make it clear that my quarrel has never been with the concept of weight loss.
Obesity is a serious problem. Government figures suggest that more than half of women and tow-thirds of men in Britain are over-weight or obese.
Our children are affected, too: one-third of all girls aged 11 are overweight and 20% of all 11 year old boys are overweight.
These figures are disturbing and the problem requires solutions that work.
I first crossed swords with Weight Watchers in a TV debate in the early Eighties. My book, Fat Is A Feminist Issue, had raised the hackles of the diet industry by arguing that diet plans simply don’t work.
They give us an external structure of rules and regulations that make us feel temporarily safe but fail to look at what I regard as the real problem: why people eat when they are not hungry.
After a robust debate, I spoke to Weight Watchers’ then chief executive in Britain, an American. She told me that one of the biggest problems confronting Weight Watchers was recidivism - people who followed the diets and then went back to their “bad” eating habits.
She seemed genuinely concerned and told me that they were working with psychologists to confront these problems.
Since then, Weight Watchers has become a multi-million-pound business, and I don’t believe it is the very “problems” of recidivism that has made Weight Watchers its fortune. For those who feel they are overweight, Weight Watchers offers what seems to be the perfect solution: you can lose weight while still eating your favourite foods, albeit in smaller portions.
Food and drinks are given “points” depending on their saturated fat and calorie content. Members are given a maximum number of points to stick to with the aim of losing between one and two pounds each week.
Some members opt for go-it-alone programmes at home but most attend group meetings run by a Weight Watchers leader.
They pay £9 to register and a weekly fee of £4.50 for the privilege of being weighed in public and attending a discussion on weight loss, although I believe a big money spinner for Weight Watchers is in the sale of pre-packaged diet foods.
It’s certainly true that people do lose weight with Weight Watchers. The problem is that they quickly put it back on again. The reason is simple: our bodies are simply not designed to diet.
Our metabolisms have what scientist call a “set point” - something like a thermostat in a central heating system.
When we gorge ourselves at Christmas, our metabolisms speed up to burn off the excess food. But when we reduce our intake, as when we go on a diet, our bodies go into survival mode, slowing down our metabolisms.
If we continually diet, our body thermostat eventually fails to rest itself once we begin eating normally again. Our metabolisms continue to operate at the slower rate and we start to regain weight.
This leads to the “yo-yo effect” - a vicious cycle of weight-gain and weight loss.
If the plans actually worked, members would have to sign up only once.
Instead, they find themselves returning to its products and promises time and time again.
This leads to huge profits for the diet companies. During the Nineties, American consumers spent more than the annual government budgets for education, health and welfare combined. I believe that the real solution is to re-educate our bodies and minds to eat only when we are hungry. It suits the diet industry far better to convince us that we need their programmes.
There is no doubt that they have a captive market - psychologically prepared for them by the media, fashion and advertising industries who constantly bombard us with photographs of slim and beautiful young women.
They create a vulnerability in all of us that enables organisation such as Weight Watchers to make millions.
For Weight Watchers it’s a win-win situation. The relatively few people who do not lose weight permanently can be claimed as a victory and photographed for publicity purposes.
The rest will continue to buy their products - blaming their failure on their own lack of will power and putting their trust back into an organisation that has failed them in the first place.

Good post, BOB. I don't agree with court action- but she nails it on the diet industry and weight watchers in particular. I do remember reading her bok "Fat is a Feminist Issue" in the early 80"s (? can't remember that long ago) and remember being really disappointed that it didn't tell me how to lose weight
Deb- PICTURES! Is it blonder than when I met you last April? You had just had it done then, too. Should I lighten mine and we can run as the Sugar Buster Blondes? BTW, I've discovered running on a treadmill is reeeeaaaally boring. My old discman is dying so it cuts out for about 28 seconds out of each minute, leaving me to just watch the treadmill monitor. And its too cold/snowy/icey to run outdoors. YUCK!
Glory- You sound very energetic. I hate cleaning. Guess that's why my house looks like it does :(
gotta go,

Good Friday Morning Everyone:wave:
ARGH! I hate my hair! What to do? The kids laughed at me this morning when they saw it (I was asleep when they came home). I don't know what the heck to do with it. I can't call the girl who did it, I told her it was nice, what could I say with all these people there-I don't like it! Plus, she's a friend of my friend Sara. Do I call the girl who's been doing my hair for over 20 years and beg forgiveness and ask her what to do? I don't want to go and buy some stuff and do it myself and screw it up even more! It's REALLY bad!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe on someone else it would be okay, but not on me, not with my skin tone. All I need are red eyes and I'll be like an albino! ARGH!
I haven't been able to catch up with all that's been going on with the board, so please, forgive me. I'll try to do better from here on. :)
The new computer is running slower than the old computer or the laptop. I don't know why, same connection. You'd think the new computer would be somewhat faster, nope:nono: I have to figure this out, it's driving me batty.
I haven't exercised since Monday-bad me. Every morning it was raining or I had to do something, today I just didn't want to go because of my hair. Pretty sad!:(
Okay, enough of my blubbering, I'm going to try and figure out what to do with myself and my hair. I'll check in later today.
{{{HUGS}}} to you all, and thanks for understanding!

Got to get my shopping done this weekend. We have a Christmas party Sat nite to go to. Other than that...
Not much going on here.
Deb, I bet you look mahvalous! Can't wait to see it. If you don't like it, call the girl back and tell her after you lived with it for 24 hours you don't like it. Don't pay more to have it fixed.
Bob, loved the carol. I sent it to my DD who is a physcologist. Oh my Gawd! That woman looks too familiar! :yikes: Give me a hamburger anyday with or w/o the bun. I don't like to cut up the steak. Oh my gosh, I just realized how lazy I am.The lottery is power ball, we don't have a mega ball.
I sort of agree with the article. WW doesn't teach you a healthy WOE. If you want to use your points on candy bars you can. You have to change your bad habits. Plus (and I have been there twice with them) after you get to goal and you stop going to the meetings, you gain it all back. Plus who wants to pay $10 for the rest of your life. But on the other hand, I believe any diet works as long as you stick to it. It's getting off track that brings the fat back and causes the diet to fail. If you haven't changed your eating habits you will gain it all back, plus some.
Mel, so glad you are running the WDW with Deb. I hated that she was going to have to run alone. Whata pal.
Have a great day everyone and watch out for black cats and ladders.

Morning everyone!! It's Friday, the sun is shining and all is right with the world, well, at least in my little corner of it. I have got to get out with all the other crazies tomorrow and finish my shopping. I'm pretty close, but I'm sure it's going to take me most of the week-end to finish up. Also, hubbies birthday is Tuesday, so I have to go out and find his BD present. We're going out tomorrow night with friends to celebrate. I did find a book that I was trying to find for Jordan yesterday. It's called Keeping Faith. It's written by a young man and his father and is about the young man's experience when he joined the Marines and his father's journey of acceptance. I saw an interview with them on C-Span one day and it looks really good.
I think I'm closer to getting rid of the Thanksgiving pounds. I put on a pair of jeans today and they feel a little loser. I'm going to weigh when I go to Curves tomorrow morning and see.
Monet - Slow down girl. You don't want to end up right back where you were.
Denise - How was the party??
Glory - I have a couple of rooms that need painting and you can clean my carpet while you're here. I would be eternally grateful.
Lyn - Don't overdo the collarbone. It takes forever for those things to heal.
Deb - You're blonde!!!??? Is it a bright yellow blonde or a highlight blonde or a white blonde. Do you think it will tone down in a week or two? What did Eli think of his new blonde hottie? I agree with Jackie that you should go back to the place you had it done unless you just think she was not any good. Just read your latest post about the lowlights. I bet that helps. Just don't leave until you're really happy with it.
BOB - No, I didn't get to watch Survivor last night. We had to go to, get this, Jordan's girlfriend's Christmas band concert. Not high on my list of things I wanted to do, but she asked us, so what could we say. I was glad we went because her mom told us that Liz (the girlfriend) had told her mom that she was thrilled that we were there. I did tell Jordan that they have to come to Seth's choir concert on Tuesday, though. Love the new pj's.
Mel - Good for you for staying on that boring old treadmill. That's why I've never purchased one. I just didn't think I would be able to stick with it. Fortunately, the majority of the year, we have pretty good weather to walk in.
Jack-K - I heard that the Kentucky coach is looking at the Baylor job. I guess he's looking for a challenge? I don't think they've won a game in 2 years and it's been longer than that since they've won a conference game. Have fun at the Christmas party. We're going to dinner tomorrow night with friends, but it's at a fabulous steakhouse called Cool River so I should be able to stay pretty much on plan. We have a party next week-end to attend and then I think we're done except for family stuff. It's been a busy season already.
Everybody have a terrific day and an even better week-end.
Ta-ta for now.

So far it is NOT a good day! The toilet turned into a fountain this morning and in the process of cleaning up I managed to break the glass holding all of my makeup brushes--UGH! It's only 8:30 and I need a drink!:s:
I've got loads of baking to do today--one dessert for everyone else and one for me for a dinner tonight--then I have to do the same thing for a dinner tomorrow night! Then cookies for Christmas Carolers on Sunday.
Oh yes did I mention I still have shopping to do?
And work--I think I'm supposed to get some work done at some point today.
Sheesh.
I really really really want to go back to bed.
Deb--I'm with BOB--we need pictures!

My weight is steadily climbing and I'm eating right...ugh...not sure what is going on. Thought it was my eating habits but they weren't that bad and this week they have been great. Unless it's stress and lack of exercise..I just don't know. Drinking plenty of water. It must be smell...LOL I spend yesterday making chocolate covered cherries again....no sneaks. :) But they sure smelled GREAT. I hope everyone is doing well.
I hope you get your hair to a shade you are happy with Deb.
Love,

Hi,
Jack-K: It sounds like a lot of us are in the same boat with our Christmas shopping. My daughter helped me last weekend but I still have a lot to do. I have a friend that I shop with at the last minute and we will start on Monday and have planned for all day Tuesday as well as part of Thursday if we haven't finished. I am hoping to put the tree up this weekend....and so it goes. Maybe Deb should do a poll and see how many have finished shopping.
BOB: The Christmas jingles were cute.
Today I need to meet a friend for lunch so I'd better get her present wrapped.
Hope this is a good day for everyone.

Morning! I am taking a day off here. I am still in my jammies, my bed is NOT made, and the electric mattress pad is cranked up to about 8. I am going to rifle through all my books, find one I have not read in a while and spend the day reading and sleeping.
So far this morning, I called Bellsouth about our DSL..and got into an argument with the person I talked to. At least I got one of the credits I was looking for...but was told basically that I was stupid and totally misunderstood the $19.95 for three months promotion. The last person I talked to told me I did not understand the 'free' installation...which they said was just $100 off the regular price of $199! Gee, duh! I did not know that FREE meant half price! Maybe I should call a few more times and see what I can get from the next person I talk to! So I got the credit for installation, was told to pay it anyway, since the credit would not appear until my January bill, and by the time I hung up my head was spinning and I wanted to slap someone!
Then my next call was to check on a babysitting job my daughter was signed up for at church. They are paying $36 to babysit for an event tonight. She was very excited about it, since she desperately needs the money to buy Christmas presents....well, they picked the youth group from the church, and a married couple. They did not need her, and now I am going to have to tell her she is not going to be able to work and get paid tonight. I am NOT looking forward to that. I have until about 3 this afternoon, when she gets home! :(
I actually got some stuff done yesterday. My older daughter dragged me to Tuesday Morning, Costco, and Blockbuster. She seems to be an Energizer bunny. I was pretty tired by the time I got into bed though. I am a bit bothered by the achy feeling and joint pain. I am guessing my lupus is flaring, as a result of the mono.
I am not getting on the scale for a few days. It is the start up of PMS, and I am not going to go there.
DEB: Sorry I missed your call last night. I would have called you back, but I do not have your number! I won't be home tonight, but will be here until about 6:30, and then in the morning, I am up at 8 at the latest. Not sure about tomorrow afternoon....

I am still reading all the posts. I just don't have time to reply to all of them. It sounds like we are all doing pretty well with our WOE. One thing I like is that I don't get hungry as often after eating protein at every meal.
Deb-I can relate to your hair problem. Let us know how you like it after your second appt today.
I am way behind on my shopping--mainly because I don't know what to buy my sons. I'm starting to panic--might have to give money which I've never done before.

Hi Everyone! I'm down to 161 today. Yea!! :dancer: Cuttin those carbs works for me!!!!!
I wanted to share my experience with you all regarding the holiday Christmas party that I attended last night. Well, we were all supposed to meet at Kmart and when we got there, we had to wait in the shoe section. Once everyone arrived (about 25 people), we found out that our company flew in a guy from Massachusetts who runs Scavenger Hunt parties. They had 5 white stretch limosines loaded with drinks, champagne, and snacks. They put us into 5 (cowboy) groups. My group was called the “Out Laws” and we wore the blue bandanas. This is why we had to dress“Country Western”…Therefore, there were 5 people in each limosine. Then they gave us a list of about 150 things that we needed to find or do and a polaroid camera and lots of film to take pictures to prove we did it. After each thing we did, we had to put the # of the item and the # of points on the picture for a maximum of 30 pictures. We also had to find 5 objects on our list. We had 3 hours to do it and the limo driver could help us if we asked him for certain things. There was also one picture that was worth 300 pts if we impressed the coordinator of the event. (Some of the things on the list could only be done in East Fort Lauderdale at the Riverfront and off of LasOlas) However, our group opted to stay in Davie(West Fort Lauderdale) since I knew the area well because I lived nearby. The 6 objects that we needed to collect were: a tomato, a martini olive, anything Elvis, an Ace of Diamonds, a Sam Adams coaster, and anything that saysWilliam Glackens on it. (We obtained everything except the Sam Adams coaster!) We went into every bar in the area and noone had a Sam Adams coaster!)
Here is a list of SOME of the things that my group did that we had to take pictures of to prove it.:
1) Make a human pretzel in the parking lot
2) Dance on a bar in a bar
3) Find the biggest bottle of champagne
4) Find someone with a tattoo
5) Find someone with perfect ABS
6) Get an employment application at Burger King
7) Go to McDonalds, wear their hat and get behind the counter
8) Order fries at McDonalds and sing Christmas carols while eating fries
9) All members smoking cigars (pretending of course)
10) All members performing a yoga pose
11) Get into the back of an ambulance
12) Walk someone else’s dogs
13) On a fire truck wearing fire hats
14) Find a pharmacist to hold up a bottle of viagra
15) Push someone in a shopping cart
16) 2 people on the back of a Harley
17) Walk at an intersection Abbey Road Style
18) Write “SegalRules” on an outdoor restaurant menu
19) Make a sign saying“Segal Institute is the Best” and hold it up at a busy
intersection.
20) Make a human pyramind and extra points since we found a complete stranger to get on at the very top of it.
21) Put two heads through a Christmas wreath
22) All members under a clock saying 5:30 pm
23) Having a shoot out with guns (pretend ones of course)
24) Find a restaurant worker named “Bob” and prove it
25) All members on bikes
26) On a scooter
27) Doing the limbo
(only 28 out of 150 options)
(This is about all we got done in the 3 hours).. The Davie Police Dept would not let us get a picture in a jail cell or be handcuffed in the back of one of their cars so that hurt us a little bit) However, the firefighters were very helpful.
The #1 picture that we got to impress the Coordinator to make LOTS of points is:
We asked a complete stranger (a woman) to let all five of us in the group go into her house and get under hercovers in her very own bed!!!! She was a very nice, kind of young pretty lady who was just soooo generous and willing to help us in anyway she could. (I could tell she was married too from the pictures in her bedroom. I couldn’t imagine what her husband would of thought if he had walked in!!) We found some really mean people who had no sense of humor and we found people like her that were willing to help us.
Anyhow, to make a long story a bit shorter, my group won out of all 5 limos!! It was a very unique experience that I will never forget that’s for sure!
We(my group) were all expecting a prize, but never got one so that was a huge let down, because if you have ever done one of these before it is very draining mentally and physically. I guess our prize is just having the experience which I am grateful for, but I still think we deserve a prize!! LOL!
After the Scavenger Hunt was over at 6 p.m., our guests(spouses/boyfriends) arrived at a really nice party club/restaurantcalled “Gatsby’s” in Davie. Some of the Dolphin football players were there like Jay Fielder and some others I can’t remember. Then we just ate and drank till about 8 p.m. and went home exhausted.
All in all it was an experience to remember….Thanks for letting me share it with you.

Okay, now I want to say "hi" to everyone on here!
Glory: Hope you got all your cleaning and x-mas decorating done!!
Lyn: Glad that the doctor thinks that your collarbone is healing properly. Sorry, though he put you in pain. Doctors are known to do that!!:s:
Jackie: Hi! Thanks for reminding me that it's Friday the 13th, now it should go down hill from here...
Debbie: Hi there Goldie!!! I think all the girls should dye their hair blonde so when we go to the Orlando event, we will get lots of attention...:D I think you're probably overreacting...It might be hard for you to get used to since you've never had it that light before. I'm sure I will love it! Can't wait to see you again...:)
Bob: Thanks for reminding me! I've gotta go buy my lotto tickets!! Yes, I love my meat. I'm eating several Rib Eyes a week and loving every minute of it. Losing weight is best for me by cutting out a lot of those stinkin carbs.. I find that the pasta, rice, and cereals have more carbs then the bread though. Therefore, I usually will have my bread..(sometimes as much as 4 slices a day! and I'm still losing weight. I just count the bread towards my total carb count. The Natures Own 100% WW bread has 10 gms of carb per slice subtract the 3 grams of fiber and get only 7 gms of carb for once slice of bread. Not too shabby!!;)
(I especially liked your Christmas Carols for the Psych Challenged since I work for mostly Psychiatrists and Psychologists.) I sent it to everyone one I work for.
I missed Survivor due to the holiday party last night. If you can offer any details that would be great!
I loved your lingerie. I want to wear something like that too!
That Weight Watchers article is true because it WW does not teach you to change your habits or to eat healthy. Now, if one was to combine WW with SB, I think that would be a healthy WOE as long as they are consistent and can eat that little bit of food...
Monet: Sorry about all the aggravations you are experiencing! Life can be aggravating at times...:^: Just go back to your reading and sleeping and you will feel better..
Susan: Hope your baking is going well and have fun at the dinner partys!
Trish: Congrats on your pants being looser...That's a sure sign that you're losing! Try looking at your total carb intake if you are not losing.
Hi to Linworthlady and everyone else!!

Good morning, I am restarting Sugar Busters and joining this group for the second time. It has been so long since I lurked here or posted, that I don't remember my user name, so decided to use sugarbustingdeb. To make a long story short, I had weighed 265, got down to 233 and now back up to 250 and getting scared that I will go back up to 265 again! I just turned 48 and now it is not a matter of my looks, it is a matter of my health. I went out this morning before work to Hastings and bought the Sugar Buster shopping guide and Protein Power Life Plan (just wanted to see what the Eades have to say). I loaned my SB book out and don't remember to who, so plan to buy another one at half.com or ebay.
Well, thats my story. I have a couple of questions, how many carbs are you all eating to lose weight? The SB shoppers guide says to eat 40% carbs, but what does that tanslate into grams?
Thanks for any help. It is good to see all of the "old" posters, i.e., BigOrangeBabe and Debilli.
I am so upset with myself, even feeling depressed about my health and weight. I am my own worst enemy. I think I can eat like a "normal person" and the reality is that I can't! I feel horrible when I am eating sugar. I feel so out of control. It is hard to admit what I weigh, I never would post it before, but I have got to face the truth. Thank God for this board.
Take Care, sugarbustingdeb

I was going to try to respond to everyone, but I'm all out of breath after reading about DENISE's Scavenger Hunt!
DENISE - That sounds like a bunch of fun, but I agree - you deserve a prize for winning!!
SAP servers crashed this week and we were without e-mail for 2 days. So, as if things weren't bad enough with our conversion to SAP now it's even worse. They are asking people to work week-ends again.....but I can't. I have BEAUTY PAGENTS for the Princess all week-end! Meister is getting her all pretty today (not that it takes much with these little brown dogs)
DEB - You gotta look at it and if you don't like it she needs to fix it. Nothing bad or to feel bad about. Regardless, can't wait to see it.
MEL - I SENT YOU A PRIVATE MESSAGE! Couldn't find your e-mail so I did it on here. :D
BOB - Okay, Green Beans, Butter Beans, Broccoli and MEAT??? I can do that....but I'm still gonna sit by you the WHOLE WEEK-END!!
MONET & ROSE - You two keep on healing up nicely! You want to be in good shape for the PILLOW FIGHTS!!!
MARIE - I Miss you when you're not on here!! Thinking about you.
COUNTRY - I feel for ya! I hate doing everything perfectly and still not seeing the weight coming off. Kind of like kicking BOO-TEE in a Scavenger Hunt and not winning a prize. :s: Just kidding, DENISE!
TRISH I have NOT EVEN STARTED SHOPPING!!! Heck, I've had the tree up since the week-end after Thanksgiving and still don't have decorations on it. How bad is that?? Everyone may be looking at a dead tree in January. :o
 Gotta run! Have a great day, everyone!!

Just wanted to jump in here.
Glad to see the board has picked up today. Makes me feel all warm and cozy to have my friends around.
Trish, that books sound perfect. Let those jeans be your scale. It's more positive. Yeah our coach took the Baylor job. Really can't blame him. More money and he is from Texas too. Oh well, the search is on. Just hope we get a good one, we were just getting good.
Fillise, go back to bed for an hours. Things will have to improve. What a way to start Friday the 13th. Hope it's uphill the rest of the day.
Bob, was just thinking of you while I am sitting here eating a grapfruit (yum!). Know how much you love them. Going to have grapefruit jucie this evening, but I'm gonna put some vodka in it. Does that count :s:
Country, If you are eating right I wouldn't worry. It could be so many things, harmones, etc. Just concentrate on eating right and don't worry about it. (easier said than done, I know). :grouphug:
Yellow, I think there are a couple of smart elecks (sp) that have finished.
Monet, staying in bed all days sounds like a wonderful plan, plus I think you need to rest some anyway. Boy you sound report that person as bell south. Don't they know the customer is always right? I'd call someone else to see what else you can get. I wouldn't pay the $100 and then wait for the credit.
Linworth, depending on the ages of your sons, they might really like money. Sometimes they like to pick their own stuff, especially clothes. I know girls do.
Denise, Wow what a cute idea. That sounds like a blast. I hope you had a great time. Don't you just love people that will help out with stuff like that. I can remember doing scavenger hunts many many years ago and some people were so nice and helpful. You want to tell the others to lighten up and live a little. What fun.
SugarbustingDeb, Welcome back. Not sure if I was on here when you were, but welcome anyway. I don't count grams. I eat 2 starchy carbs a day. Mostly bread. The book says 2-3 servings daily. which would be brown rice, wwsg bread, ww pasta, cereal. It is hard to face what you weigh. I kidded myself for a long time. When it started affecting my health I woke up and found SB. 94 lbs later I'm still here and still going. My biggest piece of advise is do it now. I am 49 (soon to be 50) and I so wish I had done this 10-15 years ago. Now my skin is saggy and I sure would have enjoyed wearing stylish clothes more so. Good luck to you.
Solshine, good luck on the beauty pagents. I'm sure your puppy will win. Gosh you make me feel so much better about the season. At least I have my tree and house decorated. Only 12 days left. :yikes: Hurry

Hi,
I did get the present wrapped and made it to lunch with time to spare. Yeah for me.
Denise: Boy that scavenger hunt was quite the experience. I have been on one of the hunts but nothing on that
grand of a scale. I hope you are not giving Debbie any ideas. I will be glad when this collarbone thing does not
dictate my life. Hopefully by the time I see you in Ft Lauderdale. No blond for this girl who has very dark hair. I
guess the only highlights I am permitting is the grey...uh....silver.
How many carb grams are you allowing yourself per day? Congrats on finding a way that works for you to lose
weight.
SBDeb: Hi, and welcome back. All we can do is continue to try. I understand how it feels when my weight starts
going in the wrong direction. Hang in there.
Solshine: I am going to be much better, shoulder wise by the time of “the” slumber party but I may need to referee
the pillow fights from afar. Hey someone needs to watch for rule infractions. The empty tree sounds like you are
keeping it basic this year....ha. I haven’t even gotten the tree up, so, you are ahead of me.
Jack-K: Who are these people who have finished their shopping? Maybe I will take the high road and see what
their secret is.
Deb: I hope by now you have your hair to your liking. The low lights sound like a good idea.
Off to fix some of my spaghetti sauce.

GOOD EVENING FROM THE TEMP IS DROPPING AND BY TOMORROW NIGHT IT WILL BE LOW 40's!!!
The rain has stopped, but the cold is headed this way..I've still got my air on, but I'm sure the heat will be on by bedtime!
Ok, I got my directions to SONYA's house, and I'm going down to AAA in the morning for a TRIP TIC!! :dizzy:
I'm almost sure that Debbie must have looked like TRAILER PARK TRASH or she wouldn't have been so upset... LOW LIGHTS are the answer, and that look is very becoming...she'll fix it..BUT....the short hair is what I'll have to get used to! For those of you who have never met her....she has the curliest hair you've ever seen...BUT when she blow drys is, she looks like a different person all together...I myself like the curly look on her..

Evening All:wave:
Just got home, what a longggg day it's been.
I called my friend Sara who called COOKIE and she told me to come right in. It's not around the corner, but luckily I made it right on time. Sara was so sweet to meet me there and spend the time with me while Cookie redid my hair. She put in low lights and some other concoction when I told her I felt my hair was orange, something for the roots. It was REALLY blond, but more of a strawberry blond, just too blond for me. Anyhow, I didn't have her blow dry it out and just came home with it scrunched and funky looking. The color seems better now, definitely darker, but tomorrow will be the true test when I wash and blow dry it myself, until then, I'm not stressing over it.
Sara took me out to lunch afterwards, which was nice. She's a really sweet person-nuts, but sweet. Woman has 8 kids!!
She looked radiant today-Cookie did her hair yesterday and it was stunning.
Afterwards, headed home and had to p/u Lauren at her Dad's house and decided to take her to the movies. We saw DRUMLINE which I liked, esp. since I was in marching band in HS. Afterwards, had to rush home and p/u Michael to drop him off at a talent show he and his friend Ximena are in tonight, then went for gas. Well...my battery died at the gas station! Eli is still at work and luckily for me, his son Freddie lives right around the block AND was at home, so he came and jumped the battery, followed me home, took me to the auto parts store and came and put the new battery in for me. He's a mechanic, which is nice to have around, esp. when you need them! He usually works on stereo systems and alarms, but knows the basic mechanic stuff, thank goodness!
So, just got on my jammies and going to get something to eat, I'm starving. Wanted to jump on the board with this quickie before it got too late.
Will check in tomorrow at some point. I'm hoping to get in some replies soon, it's just been one of those sucky weeks! Can you believe, I haven't exercised since Monday:eek: That sure sucks!
Here's to a better week next week, all around.

I've read that XP loads all kinds of unnecessary services at startup and uses up too much memory. Here's a link that tells how to disable them... uncheck them... you can recheck them if you need them again... doesn't delete anything. Use the "Safe" column.

Good Evening!
Well, I laid around most of the day and read. I can't get over how much better I felt by 3pm. We had a drama group at church tonight, Peculiar People, and it was hilarious. I really enjoyed the show. We did not hang around, but came home right away and are heading off to bed soon. Both my hubby and I are feeling run down, so a good nights sleep will help us both.
Sweet dreams everyone!
Denise: That scavenger hunt sounded like a lot of fun!
Deb: I am glad you were able to get your hair redone!
YELLOW: You and I can both referee! I am sure I will not be up to pillow fights! ;)
SBDEB: Welcome! We are glad you are here..and hope we can help you reach your goals.
JACK: Vodka? You better be careful of those grapefruit juices! :)
Hubby told me I have to get off of here and get in bed....will get to everyone tomorrow!

Hey everyone!
Sorry I've been MIA all week. Been a busy one at work & other things going on. Did manage to finally get a little shopping done on Monday which was my only day off. Pulled another muscle in my back. That made for a rough few days. :(
Anyway, it is really cold here in SW LA. Was sooo windy today. Have had alot of rain, so needless to say that DD will NOT be in her own home this year. They have not been able to pour the concrete slab yet because of all the rain. Just when it looks like it will clear up, here it comes again. Oh well!! I guess I need to look like putting up a Christmas tree for the kids anyway. This is the latest I've ever been to put one up. It's just that we are so crowded that I'm not sure where I'm going to put it. Maybe hanging from the ceiling? :D
Have been doing better with staying OP this week. Weight back down to 136 & clothes fitting better.
Haven't really read the board as I am so far behind, so please forgive me for not addressing anyone personally, but wanted to at least say  :grouphug:

I'm just sitting around trying to digest my breakfast before I head out for my "long" run of the week. Trying for 7.5 miles. Did 6.5 last Saturday, so it would be doable. Just Boooring! My discman is dying and the scenery hasn't changed in years.
Tonite we have a big holiday party to go to and I'm hoping I still fit into the dress I bought 4 months ago. It's sleeveless and my arms are rather-um, muscular.
After then run if I'm still alive, I gotta make some dent in making this house look a bit festive, and Christmas shopping. Half my family is Jewish, so that's all done with, but I still have a TON more to buy, wrap, think of in the first place! My dd is getting new front teeth to the tune of about $800, but I still need something she can actually unwrap. Her real ones were knocked out jr year of highschool playing field hockey (with a mouthguard) and the caps have turned gray and look pretty bad. Especially if you are 20 1/2 years old! Ds is getting a bunch of little stuff, but haven't thought of a biggie for him yet. And then there are the boxes I still need to ship to Texas and Florida. I hate waiting in lines! Should have shipped them in August.
Deb- Hope your hair is mah-va-lous today! Get off your butt and go for a run. Im sure not dragging you across the finish line! Send me your TJ's list soon. I may go there next week, or Jon drives past it everyday on his way home from work. Lucky about having a mechanic down the block. Now you just need a computer expert! LOL
Monet- Glad you are feeling a bit better today. Keep resting. It takes a long time to get back to healthy!
Yellow Rose- I'll be there referee'ing with you! Don't want to get hurt.
Denise- We've done scavenger hunts like that a couple of times. They're really fun, but draining. And boy do some people get competitive. Last one, there was a rule that the team members could not split up. One team spent all their time videotaping another team splitting up so that they could disqualify them! How silly. We won last prize which was a Johnny Cash Christmas CD! LOL.
Sol- Thanks for the PM!
It's freezing raining here again Yuck Yuck Yuck. How I envy you southerners when cold and miserable means 45 degrees! But not in the summer....
Outta here,

Lolly gagging around all day yesterday felt so good, I am doing it again today! ;)
Hubby is off helping some friends from church move...and daughter #2 is still asleep. She was out with her brother last night, and I don't even know what time she came in. I guess she will wake up when she has had enough sleep. I sure am not going to venture in there before then...she is a bear if she is tired!
MEL: I want to know what kinds of hard to find stuff you can get at this TJ place??
MELF: That is too bad about the house...rain can really delay construction...its kind of a catch 22, its needed, but frustrating! How about putting the tree up on the porch? in the garage? :) My mother in law has a small house and when we all descend on her at Christmas, it is a zoo! It amazes me that we have never knocked the tree down, what with all the kids running around and the adults cutting up....
BOB: How were the movies? My daughter is a Blockbuster manager, and her father in law is a big VP for a theater company...my family is movie crazy! Me? Give me A&E's Pride and Prejudice, and I am happy for six hours....
catch you all later!

OK, BOB, as you would say, I'm dragging my sorry butt back to the board once again.
First, let me say hello to everyone since I haven't been around for a month or so.:sorry: I'm not one of the Holiday drop outs, however, my absence has been due to working a full time job for the first time in 19 years. Seems like there just isn't enough time for everything that needs to be done, especially with so much always going on at home. Now, I'm not complaining, just trying to explain my absence. I'm getting into more of a routine now, so hope to be able to post more often.
I'm really enjoying my new job and think I'm doing fairly well learning something that I had no knowledge of beforehand. Everyone has been very nice and helpful to me at the office, and the best part is working with my friend Tranquil, who has also been absent from the board lately. We sit right around the corner from each other, and have lunch together almost daily. We usually bring something SB legal and eat in one of the conference rooms, or got out to eat at least once a week. My weight has been staying the same, fluctuating a few pounds up and down every week. I've been drinking a lot more coffee and less water since starting work, so that may have something to do with my weight not going down. I've had a few cheats, but nothing major or consistent. The biggest challenge during the holidays is all the wonderful gift baskets filled with goodies that clients are sending to the office on a daily basis.
I'm really looking forward to the Orlando get together next month. Sounds like we are going to have a great time. Tranquil has reserved our room so we are all set. I can't wait to meet everyone that will be there.
Please excuse me for not posting to individuals right now. I've missed so much that I can't possibly catch up, just have to start fresh from today. I do see there are some newbies, so a warm welcome to you. I've really missed my friends on the board and have kept you in my thoughts, even though I wasn't getting to the board.
Take care and I promise to be back soon.

Hi..I am Kathy and I just got the sugar busters book. I think I need to strart it...like today!!! I haven't done so good with WW. The only time I have ever lost weight was when I went to OA followed their plan. It was kinda more of an Atkins type diet..Didn't work for me cause it was hard to add back some of the higher carbs..In OA you don't eat suger and I know tht was why I lost weight..I am totally addictited to sugar..Once I start, Iusually don't stop until what ever I am eating is gone.
According to a electronic scale at work (which i don't know if it correct or not) says I weigh 199..Yuck..that is sooo much!!! but it is a weight I have been for years, and I am sick of it!!! So...today I am not going to eat sugar, I will keep my carbs to 2, and I will eat my protein. And I will stay away from suger.
For exercise I go to Curves..It works for me since it only takes 1/2 hour and I have seen the results of people who go..and I know I can be that person If i just eat according to plan and go to Curves 5 days a week.
I am married to Jim, a nice guy and I have 2 daughters..One lives in Louisana and is in the Air force. My other lives with her husband in Sac and is going to nursing school. No grandkids yet but maybe after nursing school.
It seems like this fp really works, all of you have really lost weight on this..I like that...It is scarry to think about not eating sugar though. I guess I got to do this 1 day at a time and not think about it on the long term. Know what I mean.?..I can see doing it for 24 hours...
Well better get ready for my day..
I will keep posting..

Hi,
BOB: I love all your images!
I also use Trip Tics. My husband always hated it when I would unfold and fold maps in the car and this is just perfect to keep the noise down from the paper as well as let me know when the next rest stop is near.
I guess everyone is just very busy with shopping and they don't have time for typing. Today I am planning and starting tomorrow, a friend and I will take 3 days to do all shopping that is left. About time....we do it this way every year, so, I am not worried.
Serene: Welcome back to the board. I look forward to seeing you in Orlando. Are you joining in on the pillow fights or are you joining those of us on the sidelines?
Miata: Welcome! Sugar Busters is a great program and allows a lifetime approach to better eating. Not only has my weight dropped but my triglycerides and cholesterol levels are much improved. As BOB says, there are lots of people on the board willing to help with information and support. My daughter has been going to Curves and thinks it is a good program also.
Hope you all have a good day.

I thought you all would like to see what JACKIE goes through EVERY DAY!!!! :dizzy:
okay you all pay very close attention to # 10
Subject: Louisville visitor's guide
1. You must learn to pronounce the city name. It is "Loo-vull"
2. Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. Louisville has its own
version of traffic rules....the truck with the loudest exhaust goes next at
a 4-way stop. The truck with the biggest tires goes after that. (Note: Blue
haired ladies driving anything have right of way anytime.)
3. To find anything in Louisville it is required that you know were the "Old
Sears Building" is... which is the Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the
end.
4. The morning rush hour is from 6:00 to 10:00. The evening rush hour is
from 3:00 to 7:00. Friday's rush hour starts Thursday morning.
5. If you actually stop at a yellow light, you will be rear ended, cussed
out and possibly shot.
6. You must know that "Jefferson Freeway", "Gene Snyder Freeway", "I - 265",
and "State Road 841" are the same road.
7. Construction is a permanent fixture in Louisville. The barrels are moved
around in the middle of the night to make the next days driving a bit more
exciting.
8. Watch very carefully for road hazards such as deer, skunks, dogs,
barrels, cones, cows, horses, pot holes, cats, pieces of other cars,
opossum, truck tires, raccoons, squirrels, rabbits, and crows or vultures
feeding on any of these items.
9 . If someone actually has their turn signal on, wave them to the shoulder
immediately to let them know it has been "accidentally activated".
10. The minimum acceptable speed on the "Gene Snyder Freeway (see above) is
85 mph. Anything less is considered downright sissy. This is Kentucky's
version of NASCAR.
11. Never honk at anyone. Ever. Seriously.
12. If you are in the left lane, and only going 70 in a 55 zone ... you are
considered a road hazard, and will be "flipped off" accordingly.
13. Ground clearance of at least 12 inches is recommended for city driving.
14. If it's 100 degrees, Thanksgiving must be next weekend.
15. If it's 10 degrees and sleeting/snowing, the Kentucky Derby Festival is
going on.

Just got back from getting our tree which is about all I've done so far holiday-wise. Guess I'd better get started! This was a LOT more fun when I was a kid and someone else did all the work. I'm doing Christmas dinner, but for only about 10 people so it shouldn't be too much of a trauma.
Had a great time a our neighborhood party last nite- there was a fantastic vocal duo with dj and it was so much fun to dance to live music. I ate a little of almost everything that looked appealing- funny how some things just didn't look appealing that I would have loaded up on 2 years ago. White pasta and potatoes just don't even look good. Actually, I would have eaten more, except the waitstaff was a bit agressive about clearing tables and every time I put my fork down, my plate disappeared! Finally gave up on food and just drank LOL! I'm a real cheap drunk these days.
I did an 8 mile run in the morning and then danced for about 4 hours (in :yikes: heels) so my feet, hips and knees were complaining some this morning. Today is definitely rest day. And back to clean food. My fingers were so puffy this morning despite all that running and dancing.
Hope you all survived your weekends and am further ahead than I am on holiday stuff!

Hello Friends!!!
Well, finally, I have some time to post. Don't think, okay, I know I won't be able to catch up, but I'll try to get in a decent posting for y'all:D
The hair is a LOT better now, thank gawd! It's more the color it was before, which I liked. I'd like to get it a tad blonder next time, but that would be just adding in some streaks, nothing more. I think next time I'll have her cut it a little shorter, just another inch more, no more than that, but THANKFULLY, I'm a lot happier than I was on Thursday, that's for sure!
ELI was off today, well, sort of. He's leaving soon to go Xmas Carroling with some SB people and then to go in to work for a little while. We went to a thing they have at one of the local music stores today, they give away prizes to different plays or for CD's-Lauren wanted to go and see if she could win something but none of us did-oh well:shrug: Went to a few stores, nothing exciting, people being the crazies they are, I didn't even want to go where we did. Lunch of course was at OLE OLE:D
Happy to say that when I got on the scale today I was at my goal weight once again! YEAH! Though, my stomach is feeling kinda fluffy and my pants are really tight, but with TOM coming in 3 days, that's to be expected.
I was bad this past week with my exercise, only got in one day, last Monday. Not the way to be training for this marathon, that's for sure. MEL thinks she's going to have to drag me across the finish line, LOL, she has no idea that if it's really cold up there she'll have to drag me out of the bed, heck with the finish line! Tomorrow for sure, I'll be back pounding the pavement. It's suppose to be nice weather tomorrow, cooler like it was today, but hopefully not windy like it was today.
I'm getting more excited about seeing so many of you in less than a month. As each day passes I have more things to bring and more ideas. You all have NO IDEA what's in store that weekend!:s: LOL!!!!!! For those of you who are not coming, don't you all worry, you'll be there in spirit AND you can be well assured to have burning ears at one point or another. Of course you know we'll be talking about the board every chance we can!!!!
This week is going to be busy, not for just me, probably for everyone. I am going to try and prepare for this Saturday's garage sale. Try to get organized and set it up as early as I can. If you put that your sale starts at 8am, people are knocking at your door at 5:30am, something I would never even fathom doing, but many rude people don't think twice about doing it. Tomorrow I have to go up to Broward with my DM, she wants me to go with her to get her vaccuum fixed. She just bought it and it's already broke! Seems nothing lasts these days. I told her I HAVE to run tomorrow morning and then I'll go with her. Tuesday ELI is off, so I'll have just the 3 days to get all the crap I want to sell out on the back patio and situated-what doesn't sell I'm giving to my aunt who sells junk at the flea market up in NC, nothing is staying-NOTHING! This time, out it goes!!!!
Okay, enough of my boring life here, time to try and get in some replies...
MIATA, http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign2.jpg
Glad to see you join our wonderful group. Please, don't hesitate to ask questions, we're all more than happy to help answer them if we're able to do so. Once you allow your body to totally detox from sugar you won't be craving it, won't even think about it. It takes a few days of being totally OP 100% to get it out of your system, but once you do, you won't believe how well you feel AND how easy it is to stay OP. But, do be careful, if you cheat on something it's like a drug you've detoxed from and then tried again, you instantly want more, at least that's what has happened to me and countless others. Don't give in, stay true to plan and you'll be happily rewarded. Okay, so here's my question for you, where the heck is UKIAH?
BOB, do you EVER get off the darn phone. I tried you yesterday, I tried you today, numerous times, geez girl, buzz, buzz, buzz!!!!!!!!! I'll try you later, then I just am giving up! Hey, I think that when we get together in Orlando we should do a pool for the lottery. Wouldn't that be a hoot if we all won! I was hoping to see SERENE or TRANQUIL on the board saying one of them had won it from JAX! I blame my not winning on my sister buying me my stinky 2 tickets!
MEL, see what I wrote above about you and me and the race. See, you're use to jogging in the cold, not this old bag. You probably have hills your way, a hill to me is an ant pile. You'll be blowing by me after we get out of the corral, and I won't see hide nor hair of you til I see you at the finish line and gosh knows when that will be! I'm back to training tomorrow!;)
RONNIE, OMG, I think that confused me more about the XP, which I do have! I'm computer illiterate and wouldn't trust myself to play around with anything on the computer. I've wiped out my hard drive TWICE:fr: I'm going to call HP this week and see what they can possibly tell me. I know my DS has put on some things that have a lot of MB to it and wonder if that slows it down. I also have DIAL UP MODEM but that really shouldn't be a reason that it slows more than it did with the old computer. It drives me crazy to have to go even slower now! Thanks for trying to help, but when it comes to computers, this old dog finds it hard to learn a new trick on it.
Lauren just walked in and said she needed the computer. I told her I needed another 10 minutes to finish this up and get the new board ready for tomorrow. I don't have my info on the new computer and have to do it before I give it to her, so I'm going to have to close this up until tomorrow. For those I didn't respond to directly, please forgive me, I know you understand that it's not personal!!!!
I'll be back on the board tomorrow morning to start the new weekly board. I will also repeat the poll from this week for next week and will make sure I put in the option to be able to vote on more than one answer. Sorry about that. Suzanne never got back to me about changing the options on it.
I hope you all have a wonderful week!!!

HiedieHo All!!!! I have been AWOL for sure! Got a call from Mary saying she did not see any posts or FFs from me in a while so was checking up on me! Wasn't that nice? It shows what a caring bunch of people we are.
I have not been sick, just extremely busy. One thing about volunteering it results in a lot of "doings" around the holidays. Yesterday was our Christmas Cantata "Hark the Angels Sing" (sorry Mary, I had a senior moment and gave the wrong title to you!) It was wonderful and means there are no more extra rehearsals to take up our time.
There are several things this week. Tis the season!
I miss the Board it helps me stay OP! Plus I love reading all your posts. I will try to be better.

This good looking man walks into an agents office in Hollywood and says, "I want to be a movie-star."
Tall, handsome and with experience on Broadway....he had all the right credentials. The agent asked, "What's your name?"
The guy said "my name is Penis Van Lesbian." The agent said, Sir, I hate to tell you, but in order to get into Hollywood, you are gonna have to change your name.
"I will NOT change my name! The Van Lesbian name is centuries old, I will_ not disrespect my grandfather by changing my name. Not ever !"
The agent said "Sir, I have worked in Hollywood for years.....you will NEVER go far in Hollywood with a name like Penis Van Lesbian!!
I'm telling you, you will HAVE TO change your name, or I will not be
able to represent you."
"So be it!! I guess, we will not do business together" the guy said....and
he left the agent's office.
FIVE YEARS LATER..... The agent opens an envelope sent to his office. Inside the envelope is a letter and a check for $50,000.The agent is awestruck....who would possibly send him $50,000? He reads the letter enclosed......
"Dear Sir, Five years ago, I came into your office wanting to become an
actor in Hollywood. You told me I needed to change my name. Determined to make it with my God-given birth name, I refused. You told me I would never make it in Hollywood with a name like Penis Van Lesbian. After I left your office, I thought about what you said. I decided you were right. I had to change my name. I had too much pride to return to your office, so I signed with another agent. I would never have made it without changing my name, so the enclosed check is a token of my appreciation.
Thank you for your advice.
Sincerely,
Dick Van Dyke

WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THREE WISE JEWISH WOMEN HAD GONE TO BETHLEHEM INSTEAD OF THREE WISE MEN?
_They would have asked directions.
Arrived on time.
Helped deliver the baby.
Hired someone to clean the stable.
Made a brisket.
And brought practical gifts.
AND WHAT WOULD THEY HAVE SAID TO EACH OTHER AFTER THEY LEFT?
"Did you see the sandals Mary was wearing with that shmatta?"
"That baby doesn't look anything like Joseph!"
_"Can you believe they let all of those disgusting animals in
there?"
"I heard that Joseph doesn't have a job."
"And that donkey they are riding has seen better days!"
"We'll just see how long it will take to get your brisket dish
back."
WHY GOD GAVE THE JEWS THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
This is the little-known tale of how God came to give the Jews
the Ten Commandments.
God first went to the Egyptians and asked them if they would
like a commandment.
"What's a commandment?" they asked.
"Well, its like, THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY," replied God.
The Egyptians thought about it and then said, "No way. That
would ruin our weekends."
So then God went to the Assyrians and asked them if they would
like a commandment. They also asked, "What's a commandment?"
"Well," said God, "its like, THOU SHALT NOT STEAL."
The Assyrians immediately replied, "No way. That would ruin our
economy."
So finally God went to the Jews and asked them if they wanted a
commandment.
They asked, "How much?"
God said, "They're free."
The Jews said, "Great! We'll take TEN!"

One day God was looking down at Earth and saw all of the rascally behavior that was going on. He decided to send an angel down to Earth to check it out. So he called one of His angels and sent the angel to Earth for a time.
When he returned, he told God, "Yes, it is bad on Earth; 95% are misbehaving and 5% are not.
He thought for a moment and said, Maybe I had better send down a second
angel to get another opinion. So God called another angel and sent him to Earth for a time too.
When
the angel returned he went to God and said, "Yes, the Earth is in decline;
95% are misbehaving and 5% are being good,"
God was not pleased. So He decided to E-mail the 5% that were good because he wanted to encourage them. Give them a little something to help them keep going.
Do you know what that E-mail said?
No?
I didn't get one either.

"Fords and Women"
Henry Ford dies and goes to heaven. At the Gates, St. Peter greets Ford, and tells him, ''Well, you've been such a good guy, and your invention ... the assembly line for the automobile changed the world. As a reward, you can hang out with anyone in Heaven you want.'' Ford thinks to himself about it, and says, ''I want to hang out with God Himself.''
The befuddled St. Peter takes Ford to the Throne Room, and introduces him to God. Ford then asks God, ''When you invented Woman, what were you thinking?'' God asks, ''What do you mean?''
''Well,'' says Ford, ''You have some major design flaws in your invention:
1. There's too much front end protrusion.
2. It chatters way too much at high speeds.
3. Maintenance is extremely high.
4. It constantly need repainting, and refinishing.
5. It is out of commission at least 5 or 6 of every 28 days.
6. The rear end wobbles too much.
7. The intake is placed too close to the exhaust.
8. The headlights are usually too small.
9. fuel consumption is outrageous.
...just to name a few.''
''Hmmm ...,'' replies God, ''Hold on a minute.''
God goes over to the Celestial Supercomputer, types in a few keystrokes, and waits for the results. In no time the computer prints out a report, and God reads it. God then turns to Ford, and says, ''It may be that my invention is flawed, but according to these statistics, more men are riding my invention than yours."

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee. (Hardly seems worth it.)
If you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb. (Now that's more like it!)
The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet.
(Oh My God!)
A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes.
(In my next life, I want to be a pig.)
A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death. (Creepy...I'm still not over the pig.)
Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour. (Do not try this at home...... maybe at work.)
The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off. ("Honey, I'm home. What the....?!")
The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field.
(30 minutes... lucky pig... can you imagine??)
The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds. (What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)
Some lions mate over 50 times a day. (I still want to be a pig in my next life...quality over quantity)
Butterflies taste with their feet.
(Something I always wanted to know.)
The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.
(Hmmmmmm........)
Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people. (If you're ambidextrous, do you split the difference?)
Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump.
(OK, so that would be a good thing....)
A cat's urine glows under a black light.
(I wonder who was paid to figure that out?)
An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.
(I know some people like that.)
Starfish have no brains.
(I know some people like that too.)
Polar bears are left-handed.
(If they switch, they'll live a lot longer.)
Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure. (What about that pig??)

Hi..Miata here. Sef..I just loved your jokes and things..The one about Dick Van Dyke has got to be the funniest joke I have heard in a long time...
Ukiah California is 3 hours North of San Francisco along Hwy 101. It is a town of 25,000, getting way too big. We have one hospital and I work here. I work as a Patient Service Rep in the ER dept..I greet the people as them come in the door, ask them if they need a dr...Call for a nurse, then them in the computer when I get a green sheet from the nurse..It is a great job, except their cafeteria stinks!!! I must must must plan my meals and take them with me..It is an adventist hospital so real meat is out. Their protien consists of soy stuff, lots and lots of cheese and noodles...I ended up eating a piece of pizza today. Tommorw I will do better.
