Im struggling, not going to lie. it seems i've been maintaining this month mostly, but I'm still struggling with everything else in my life right now - I don't like all this up in the air non sense and the person I trust most in the world is the one i'm having such issues with.
Makes for a crap month really.

From the previous thread...

Vixsin - Hi! And thank you for the welcome! :D

Ona - Hello! :D

Angie
02-16-2011, 11:55 AM
Nicole -- I had the same question once, OOT = out of town

Quantumsheep - Looks like you had a nice whoosh today, congrats :)

Fitgirl - Thanks, I have had a good 2 days, hopefully a start to a few good weeks :D Mmmm....casseroles with spaghetti squash, good idea. Any recipes you'd like to share?

Vixsin -- Congrats on hitting your February goal already! That is awesome  I feel pretty motivated about being back on phase 1, I know how well it worked for me before, and I'm excited to have some more significant losses again. In hindsight I probably should have decided myself to do phase 1 right after my vacation to put myself back in the right frame of mind. I'll have to remember that for the week after my trip to Vegas in May.

Ona -- I thought my Dr.s question was funny too, it makes me smile when I think of it. It was goofy, but it did make me realize the inconsistency in my resolve -- I can easily refuse one but am so susceptible to another, so I just have to think of them as equally bad choices...lol. Every time I'm tempted to cheat I'll think of being in bed with my dr. lol Hang in there, you're right, that weight is going to move eventually. Anything else you can change to shake things up a bit? Ie. Keep your same calories but change the make up a little bit, or keep the same amount of exercise, but change the routine?

Bulletproof - Congrats on your loss and your signature (which I don't see by the way) :dizzy:

OnaMi

Angie,I've changed the routine, added more  and I'm trying to eat more because of it all so IDk :dizzy:thanks for the advise :)

Just a general question to everyone: Has anyone seen the show "Heavy"??? HOLY COW!!!!! Talk about some motivation to stay on the journey we're on.

It's becoming a favorite show of mine. It keeps me fired up about weight loss.

Angie
02-16-2011, 01:19 PM
Kristi -- I hope all is going well with your girls. It's so stressful when you have to hand them over to someone else's care.

Lindsey -- lol, glad you liked my expletive...I have to get creative with a 6 yr old around. It's not unusual in our house for me to say any of the following: mother of pearl! ****zu! for the love of pete! and if I'm really really mad, Mother-jumper! :D

Matilda - Thanks!

Vixsin - I've seen that show, but only once, thanks for the reminder, I got a new PVR and forgot to set it up to record that one.

About that show & TBL and this site -- Why are excuses so obvious when we see other people make them, but not when we do it ourselves? I'd like to give you all permission to call me on it if you think I'm making excuses rather than taking ownership for situations and my actions. *steps down from soapbox*

Hello again, everybody! Congrats to everyone's newest losses! And, to you Cheeriloos, for reaching your goal! Way to go!

As for me, my scale showed a +0.8 gain this morning, so I'm not happy about that. :( I know what I did though (sodium again....and, anyone else have trouble saying no to a piece or two of Valentine chocolate? Lol!), so hopefully I will start my downward trend again tomorrow.

Vixsin - Never seen it, but I've seen some commercials for it. I will have to see if I can find it!

Just a general question to everyone: Has anyone seen the show "Heavy"??? HOLY COW!!!!! Talk about some motivation to stay on the journey we're on.

It's becoming a favorite show of mine. It keeps me fired up about weight loss.

I watch that every week! It keeps me fired up too! I like watching anything that has to do with weight loss and fitness now! :D

I'm down 1.6 since yesterday to a new low of 167.6 . However, I don't expect that to stick around, since I had a wicked case of diarrhea yesterday. Apparently, I have a stomach microbe that is causing all the intestinal distress I've had the past couple of months, so I'm on triple antibiotics for the next 2 weeks, as well as a proton-pump inhibitor to help kill all the stomach acid off.

In better news, I bought a pair of size 12 jeans off the clearance rack at Target without trying them on. I expected to have to shrink into them, but I got home and tried them on and thy fit like a glove. Then I compared them to the size 14s I'd been wearing, and they were, indeed, smaller. So if they are vanity sized, they are vanity sized in proportion to my old jeans !

Woohoo, I love fresh threads :D

Movie date with my best friend tonight; we're seeing The Illusionist. I saved 500 calories and 50 carbs for a small, unbuttered popcorn (somewhat arbitrary numbers...it's impossible to find carb counts on theater popcorn, for some reason). Not the most nutritionally sound decision I could make, but I don't want to go over my budget with official weigh-in on Friday, and I want my popcorn! :D :corn: :D

nicole8705, Congrats on your new low!! What a nice number 225 is :D

Diana, hang in there! If you felt bloated yesterday, I bet you'll have a nice whoosh tomorrow.

Carter, I'm impressed by your fortitude ;) I'd be climbing the walls by now. You're next drop is going to feel awesome.

Angie, how come the change back to phase 1? What plan is that?

Welcome, LindseyLou! It's interesting to see your progress in relation to your exercise/calories.

FitGirlyGirl, Sodium or not, I love whooshes — especially when they're followed by another drop! :dancer:

Vixsin, :high: Awesome job on meeting your goal for the month already!

Eclipse, sorry about the plumbing issues  And congrats on the Target 12s!! I always find that their jeans run small, if anything! When I was normal weight, I had to buy them 1-2 sizes too big (I was in an 11/12 and could barely get into their 15 juniors) and even now at a 22 I have to buy a 24.

Also, :welcome: to Arctic Mama and time2loseit.

Paradisefalls - I'm going back to phase 1 because I've been messing around at this weight for 2 months now and can't seem to get moving again. It's a low carb, low fat, low sodium metabolic diet plan and phase 1 is the low-carbiest of them all. It's diet from a local Dr and it's a big hit here, probably most similar to Ideal Protein if you were looking for comparison with a better known diet, but no meal replacments or supplements. You can see more details at poondiet.com (http://poondiet.com/)

Good Morning

Yesterday I did some analyzing (thinking ;)). The last 2 days I have been very tired in the afternoon. I have also struggled with being hungry about 1-2 hours before we eat dinner. Here's what I have come up with is a problem. I think my biggest issue is that my thyroid meds are too high. I will be going back to the Endo this coming week to go over my labs from this week. The thyroid meds being too high makes it harder to sleep and can make you hungry. Also, I've had 11 days of TTOM. I have always had problems sleeping during TTOM, which is not thyroid related. Two weeks ago DH had that stomach thing and I was up all night with that. Then last week Magnum (our dog) had pain from arthritis. I was up an entire night from that. Also several night after that wasn't good sleeping either because of Magnum. (BTW DH is now giving Magnum his glucosamine. If you recall I am allergic to the glucosamine and kept having allergic reactions to it. That's the reason we stopped with it. We didn't think it made that much of a difference. Well, for Magnum, it makes a huge difference. He is 1000% better with the addition of the glucosamine back into his regimen). Anyways, last night I slept pretty well. I did wake up at 4 something but went back to sleep. :yay: I have found, in the past, when I am tired I get hungry. Hopefully, since TTOM is over, I will sleep better. Next week, I'll see what the Endo say. Whew! Don't you love it when I analyze things and tell you all about it? Also, I got caught up with my work at the office. Maybe I will be able to come back during the day for personals.

Motivates lazy people like me, thats for sure! Haha. Also, they use Anytime Fitness - thats the gym we have been looking at, mainly because there never seems to be a crush of people there, and also because its on the same street we live on ;)

Angie: my daughter is 13 and thinks she's old enough to curse, but doesnt dare - so she uses phrases like that. I think mostly to get me going ;) Holy $hitake mushrooms mom! Yea.

Had another pretty good day yesterday but was craving BAD for some reason. Wanted fast food - but very glad I didnt, because I know it would have sucked. So. Went home and made some chili fries w/Alexia Sweet Potato fries, WW Chili (left over) and 1/4 cup cheese. Perfect for my fast food cravings and a heck of a lot better in cals/points.

I'm taking a couple days off.

My car was totalled last night. I'm bruised and sore, and my arm is a bit cut up. Other than that, I am fine. My sister took me out for several drinks afterwards, which maybe I shouldn't have, but I've never been in an accident before and I couldn't stop crying. I don't have access to a scale, but if I did, I wouldn't be using it for at least a couple days. I'm also out of the exercise game for the rest of the week.

Everything goes wrong at once, huh?

Lindsey, great job on the .8 :cp:

As for me,still at 207.2..this makes the 3rd day now! but for some reason I'm cool with that.It struck me yesterday that this is my new way of eating for the rest of my life, so i don't have to be frustrated and all stressed out cause the scale isn't moving like I'd like it to.
I'm constantly building/strengthening my mindset of how to eat healthy, not gaining!! and my weight lost journey is going great cause I'm 27 lbs from my final goal! huh..I'll find a positive doggone-it :D

.4 down this morning to 171.2
I struggled, literally to eat a banana this morning, how sad is that?
I've been thinking a lot about things in general, and I have to accept that I love a man that doesn't know who he is or wants to be anymore. He's no angel, no sinner, just a man that wants to be happy but until HE can figure out who he wants to be - there's nothing I can do.
So that lead me to realizing I've not taken care of my physical self at all, hardly sleeping, making healthy meals but eating maybe 1/5 of them, no energy leading to no activity, not being on top of water intake - but making sure Jack has the best of the best.

I've had enough.

I hate that I had to force myself to eat a banana, so sad. No more coffee all day, that is now water. small snacking all day may not be a long term best idea, but for now I've decided that's the best way for me to get what I need. Boiled eggs, yogurt, small salad wraps with hummus . . . they don't seem like a hard thing to eat mentally so that's what I'm doing.

BBL for personals . . . . you guys have no idea how much it helps that I can come here and see I'm not alone.
In this month of love . . much love to you all :)

Ona It sounds like to me you have been doing some thinking and analyzing yourself! I think that is the right mindset. If we want to keep the weight off, we have to keep doing what we've been doing all along. It's not like this is a quick fix and we can go back to our old ways. This is our life now. We have a plan and things take time. We can and will do this! :sumo: :high:

Good Morning Friends!!!

No change in my weight this morning. Holding steady at 209.0. I DO love seeing that zero in the middle!!!

Having another Hot Mama Day!! :D I took this awesome sweater out of my closet that I bought at TJMaxx and was WAAAYYY too small at the time. I'm wearing it today. And it fits WELL! I feel good today. I can't wait to go pick up DS and get to drool over the hottie counselor there!!!! :whoo::whoo: Seriously, that man is beautiful!! LOL

Diana: You'd be surprised. I actually love it when you analyze and post it here. I love that deeper look. You always give me something to think about in my own regimen. Whether it be something to change or just a reminder of truly how important it is to take care of ourselves and see our doctors. I, for one, appreciate it. :)

Matilda: You're doing great!! Welcome back to the 2-teens!

Riesz: Look at it this way, staying the same is NOT a gain! :) I stayed the same today and that's the angle I'm working today! :)

Quantum: I am so sorry to hear about your accident. I am very thankful that you are ok. Take time to heal. The exercise can wait. Do your best to eat as healthy as you can and there won't be much backlash at all from not exercising. I wish you a speedy recovery!

Kristi: YOU DID IT!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: I am SO proud of you! You are an inspiration, girl! Great job! :high:

Linds: P90X?!?! You are a machine, girl!!!!! Dang! P90X scares me. I'm really curious, but wow! does it scare me. LOL

Fractal: Hang in there!! Fluctuations are the frustrating part of our journey. My body does the same thing. I randomly gained 2 lbs the other day. For no reason at all. Fight back with drinking more water. It'll be gone before you know it.

I've got to get some work done. BBL!!!

279.4, I weighed the same this morning as I did yesterday. I do have a set time that I stop eating for the day and I've noticed lately I've been finding myself munching on foods after the stop eating time. So I will work to not let it happen again.
How do we do this? do we copy and paste our stuff daily or edit original post?

I need someone to help pull me out of this slump! I haven't been gaining but I haven't been running either. I've been sick once a week since Feb started it seems like and I don't want to use that as an excuse for not making the right choices. I dont want to give up but haven't been feeling very motivated!

Someone please shake me real hard. THIS IS ME NOT GIVING UP! I want to get I'm the 230's and stay but the only person I can blame is myself.

Lindsey- Thanks! You read that 12 miles, 11 the week before and taper this past week, I missed my 9 miler becuase TTOM started 3 miles into the Long Run. zoiks! I love running~!!!!!

FitKristi- Welcome to OnderLand!!!!

Quantum, hope you rest easy from that car accident :/

My body is less bloated, still a little show left from AF, but she is almost gone, my bloat is disappearing and the sodium from 13 Year Wedding anniversary/Valentines Day Dinner and Snack have finally left the body. My Goal for the remainder of the month is still on calorie count each day and no more rest days for me! I decided I dont like them. My muscles need rest but my mind doenst like it, at least till I can get into spring/summer because at least I can be active/busy with my twin 2 year olds!

****Wish Me Luck I have 14 Mile Run Tmrw, Longest Run Ever for Me! Most I have gone is half Marathon distance- 13.1 miles. It's all uphill from now on with mileage increases midweek and end of week runs are going into really big double digits, It's going to be incredibly insightful to see how my body reacts to the added stress of running, muscle soreness, muscle recovery and being sure I replenish glycogen storage with reduced calorie cutting. I think I'm going to Calorie Up the days of My Long Runs to aid in recovery. If I typically aim for 1200-1600 on any given day, I may aim for 1600-2000 on my Long Runs to be sure I take care of myself properly. It's really a big deal that I nourish myself and recovery vs taking the extra calorie loss. or least these are my intial thoughts on the matter, lmao.

I’m up .4, back at 188 today! Grrrrr! I did 2 hours of strength training yesterday though and my muscles are some serious kind of sore.

Vixsin - Congrats on already reaching your February goal! I love Heavy too. I’m behind in watching though.

Ona - Great attitude. It can’t win!

Coondocks - To be going through things like that and to be able to maintain is an accomplishment in itself. It is hard to realize that the people we love are in their own hands and there is nothing we can do about the decisions they make, etc. We love who we love though and we have to be careful not to judge ourselves based on who we love, be they good, bad, or confused. One day at a time and you will get through it.

Angie - My absolute favorite is actually really simple. I pre-cook the squash and some black beans. I mix the squash and black beans in a casserole dish with crushed tomato, bell pepper, cubed tofu (also goes well with chicken), and some chopped artichoke hearts. I put some low fat cheddar on top and bake. It is soooo good.

Twinmomma - how do you calculate your calories out?

Eclipse - Congrats on the jeans! That is always an awesome feeling.

Diana - lots of :hug:s, sounds like you need them! I hope the endo can be helpful for you.

Fitkristi - :congrat: You have done awesome things!

Quantum - I’m sorry about the accident, you’re ok though which is always the most important thing. I think some time off is not such a bad idea, all things considered.

I know what I burn when I run, not only have I looked up what I would burn for my size/pace/distance but if I run on the tready it will tell me and if I street run my Garmin will tell me. and other machines will tell me the same thing when I enter my information. Strength training, I'll guess on the very low side if any on certain days :-) You sorta know what you burn after you've been doing it for so long. The most important thing for me, is to get a general idea of outage and exact in- and I either hand journal my intake for the day if it's simple enough or I use sparkspeople. Today I used sparks and tally at the end of my night. I at 1150 Today but I'll call it 1200 cause I'm going to pop 2 Dark Chocolate Hershey Kisses *yum* ;-)

Actually I'll share a website that you could use to do the same. I dont do this, maybe I should I could of potentially burn more than what I calculate or what the tready says etc. LOL Today I claimed 500 calorie burn for a 4 mile run in 38 minutes at my weight I should burned about 585 cals and like I said I'll claim 500, it's not an exact science, right, everyone and every factor has to be different :-)

Dayna Great job on your 1.1 pounds! Great job staying on plan while at your friends house. I'm sure there were a lot of temptations.

Star Congrats on that .2. Yes, it's been a tough month!

Fractal Congrats on your .4

We went to a new to us restaurant last night. I made good choices. The scale bounced up a little. I don't know if there was sodium that I wasn't aware of or if it's just a daily fluctuation. :dunno:

Calories for yesterday: 1440 + Morning Joe

Weigh In: 157.8

willowgirl - that's why I never, ever move my scales, 'cuz they do the same darn thing! ;)

carter - Sorry you're stuck - hope the scale moves very soon!

I'm down .4 to 147, although still up .8 from my low.

I’m down .6 today to 187.4. I can handle gaining .4 one day if I’m gonna lose .6 the next day!

I hope everyone has an awesome day. I am off to the gym!

Twinmomma - I actually use a bodybugg. I was just curious because based on the kind of burns I get each day yours sounded really low to me for all that running. I thought the calories out you were listing were for your whole day, including the runs. It sounds like you are only tallying the calories burned during exercise though, so that makes it make more sense. Thank you for explaining. That sit is interesting though and gives me some ideas for some new activities I could try.

another .2 down to 171 on the dot.

Thank you to everyone for the kind words these last weeks, I'm trying to stay as positive as I can and remember that there's nothing I can control with some one else but I can control what I do for myself. Le sigh.

Kristi - belated congrats are in order! Welcome to ONEderland lady and fantastic WI this morning :) :)

Matilda - Wonderful to see a new low for you! You're doing so great!! February goal is already done and your kickin some butt at that!

Twinmomma - You are an inspiration, I'm getting closer and closer everyday to trying C25K everytime I read you're posts and how much you love running.

Diana - an inspiration as always, WOW is all I can say to you :)

Timetolose - more water is always good, I need to remember that too . . . slow and steady and you're doing just that, kudos.

Ona & Vix - What can I say, you've been an inspriation for sure and I've come to value your words so very much. You rock, no way around it :) :)

Good Morning All!

Happy Friday!!!! (finally!)

I'm down a smidge (.2) to 208.8 today. No worries. I've been on plan everyday and my weight kinda stalled for the past few days, I know it'll move eventually. I haven't exercised in 2 days so I am perfectly content to maintain. :) Going to the gym tonite for a bit. Maybe a little run. I may do some hardcore incline walking. I have really enjoyed doing it after my run that I may make a workout of it today. I like the challenge of upping in the incline every couple of minutes. Going out for drinks tonight with a good friend from high school. Need to look up the calories for gin or vodka with club soda. I'm going to bring some sugar free kool aid in my purse so that I can dump it into my drink to sweeten it up a bit. I know I'll have atleast 2.

Thanks so much Matilda - but, I'm not going to change anything yet. This is how it goes for me, usually - a whoosh followed by a week or two (sometimes 3) of stability. So - this is not unusual, just more frustrating because of being right on the edge of dipping below 200.

It can all be explained - I've had more time for harder workouts this past week, plus got my period, both of which cause fluid retention that I can feel all over my body - so really all I need is patience, not tweaks to my plan.

Hi ladies! And TGIF!

I had a nice surprise today ó a dress came from Torrid that I ordered for my cousin's rehearsal dinner in May. Since I started this diet wearing 24W jeans (they're now pretty baggy, but I can still wear them), I ordered the dress in a 20, thinking by May it would fit. I tried it on just to see how far I could zip it, and it's already a little loose! Sadly they don't have any smaller ones in stock, so I may have to get it taken in, but happily I can officially wear something in a 20 :D

Vixsin, what an awesome idea about adding sugar-free Kool-aid to your drink!! I've been trying to figure out low-carb drinks because I hate vodka and Diet Coke, even though I drink a barrel of the stuff by itself every day.

FitKristi, your weight loss is AMAZING, especially considering how much you've already lost!! What's your food and exercise plan? Did you start exercising in the beginning? (I feel like I may have already asked you this...forgive me if I have!)

Sorry I've missed the last couple of days, didn't have access to a computer. Looks like there have been lots of success!
However I was extremely surprised by Aunt Flo's visit on Wednesday, considering that I had an ablation and haven't had to deal with TOM since August 2010, the dr. says it can happen, but I was still cranky with the upticks in the scale - but since I'm going to assume it's water and should be gone by next week, I'm choosing to NOT be bummed, but just keep on doing as I have been. :carrot:

Alright Ladies, the 14 miler is done! 14 non stop miles for 2:26 for a pace of 10:26 per mile.

I always weigh before/after a long run. I lost 2lbs of water weight.

I always suggest everyone do this for really long work-outs. For every pound of water weight lost you have to drink 20 oz. So I have to drink 40 oz extra today. I've already had 30 of that since the run and I did small carb load to help restore my glycogen storage in the muscle to aid in recovery.

So either I will have muscle soreness and gain or I will experience a low number from the water loss. 12 more hours I'll have my answer, lol
Thanks for the support ladies !

Hi everyone!

I survived dinner at my Dad's the other night, even though I forgot my squash, and I still ended up losing .2, so good overall. I really need to do some grocery shopping to get better ingredients for my favourites in the house. I'm looking forward to making my eggplant roll ups....yum!

We are having company over on Sunday so tomorrow morning and Sunday morning will be mostly dedicated to cleaning..good exercise though! We are going to make time to go car shopping too - I'm planning to turn my car in soon and get a new one, so we'll go do some test drives tomorrow.

Starbrite -- I'm having a similar weekend. What are you cooking for your company?

Diana -- Hi! How was the new restaurant? What type of food?

Willowgirl -- My scale is sensitive like that too...I really try to keep it in the same spot every time. Sometimes it gets moved due to cleaning and it always ticks me off if I don't get the exact right place again.

Kristi -- Congratulations on getting to Onederland!!! :bravo: :hat:

Matilda - Love your new low LOW! Congratulations :)

Coondocks -- Welcome back  Congrats on your .2 today.

Ona -- Down 1.8!!?? Woohoo! :sumo:

Vixsin -- Enjoy your night out!

Bulletproof -- Love your new tickers, so cute! Way to go on your loss today!

Paradisefalls -- How exciting to be in a new size, and smaller than you expected! Great work!!

Twinmomma -- Fabulous, good job on your run...hope you won't be too sore in the morning.

Thanks again Diana. I actually slipped up today :S For the first time in a while. I've had slip ups where I've gone a hundred or less over my calorie count, and the next day I wasn't up very much, but today I went over my calorie count a considerable amount. I already expect a nice bump on the scale tomorrow morning, but I'm not beating myself up. In over a month, I've been on plan and if I had a slip up, it was miniature. I am already back on track and will try not to splurge on chocolate again for a while. Thanks to everyone else, and good luck ladies, congrats, and keep up the good work!

Guests arrived at midnight, so couldn't make the dinner I was going to make. Ended up going to bed at 2.30 am !!! Too much wine, so feel fuzzy headed this morning. Tonights the night for the wild west party- costume arrived last night, it looks very small :o

Hi Everyone! I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Something feels weird with my body. I feel bloated in my fingers and feet and (TMI alert) I feel like I haven't had proper bathroom time. KWIM? :D I have been feeling "heavy" the last couple of days. Again, I think there is something weird going on with my body. The scale is up a little this morning. I am in my maintenance range, but I haven't reached goal. I am going to keep doing what I've been doing and see what happens. I think I am going to change my ticker to my weight today. I don't normally do that, although I did that one time before when I was bouncing around. There have been weight ranges that have been difficult for me, the 230's, getting below 200, and now this. :dunno:

Angie The restaurant is a restaurant/bar. Their food is good though. I had a chicken wrap. It came with a side, they even had an option for sugar snap peas. I didn't get a side because I knew I was dealing with the unknown on the calories of the wrap. No sense in adding more calories. I ordered the sauce/dressing on the side. I think I did well considering the "unknown" aspect of it. Great job on the .2!

Losingit Keep up the good work!

Starbrite Congrats on the .2!

Morning All!

I was fully expecting a gain this morning due to lack of sleep but instead I whooshed down 1.2 to 207.6!!!! :yay: I'm ready for it to bounce up tomorrow but I'm celebrating today! :)

:tired: I am up WAAAYY too early! Night out was great last night. Lots of laughs and plenty of eye candy! LOL I did great with my drinks!! I had 3-ish. Meaning that I ordered that 3rd one but didn't finish it. I went with gin and club soda and added my kool aid. They were really good. I only got about 4-5 hrs of sleep last night so today is going to be a long day. Glad I have things planned for us to do.

I also managed to get my workout in yesterday. I did 45 mins on the tread. A little brisk walking for 10, a jog for 10, and then hardcore incline walking for the rest of the time. I loved it! I am going to do incline walking once a week now. I burned 400 cals. I was very, very happy with that!

I had the biggest NSV yesterday too. To me, it ranks right up there but still outweighs the god I hope this fits closet!! I went shopping yesterday for a cute top to wear under my hot mama sweater. Shopping is usually a very anxious and stressful experience for me. I went in and picked a bunch of things to try on and everything I picked out fit! Some things were snug. Others fit perfectly. It was the most amazing feeling. I haven't felt that comfortable trying clothes on in a very long time! I ended up with all kinds of things and even got a couple of outdoor vests. It was awesome! I couldn't wait to tell you guys!

Something feels weird with my body. I feel bloated in my fingers and feet and (TMI alert) I feel like I haven't had proper bathroom time. KWIM? :D I have been feeling "heavy" the last couple of days.

This is EXACTLY how I feel the last 3 or 4 days. I'm pretty sure it's because TOM is due tomorrow / monday along with the non-proper bathroom time. Here's hoping we get back to feeling "lighter" soon! It's driving me batty!

Willow & Shylah Hi! Here's to getting back to "normal".

Ona Great job on the .2 and finding that sweet spot! Did you make a change in your routine? Yes, I did go to a, new to me, restaurant. Something I thought about last night. I don't normally eat pickles. I had one at that restaurant the other night. I didn't even include the calories because it was only a pickle spear. I know they are high in sodium and I am sensitive to that. It could be that or just about anything else. But I'm staying the course and fighting on. :sumo:

Hello all. Thanks for your concern and lovely comments. I've finished my "break" from the weight loss journey. My head is now in the right place, and I'm happy to be back. Since my left arm/hand are pretty severely bruised, I'm going to take at least the rest of the week off from yoga and weigh lifting. I'm trying to decide what to put in their place.

New notation:
C - Previous day Cardio
W - Previous day Weights

Feb 8: 273.0 - Back at square one.
Feb 9: 272.2
Feb 10: 274.0
Feb 11: 271.6
Feb 12: 272.0
Feb 13: 271.6
Feb 14: 270.0!
Feb 15: 271.0 W
Feb 16: 268.6 C
Feb 17: Recovering
Feb 18: Recovering
Feb 19: 268.0

Honestly, I'm very impressed with that loss considering that I had a brownie sundae after my accident on the 16th, and ate like crap the 17th and 18th. I needed some good news, though, and I'm happy the scale provided it. EDIT: Also, the alcohol.

Total Weight Change for February: -5.0

Ona Speaking of carbs and the meal from the other night, I normally eat protein and vegetables for dinner. That night I had the chicken wrap. I am pretty sure I was in my calorie range, but there was the large tortilla wrap. The extra carbs with that meal and the pickle (sodium) could have made a little difference. I just thought about that. :dunno:

Just popping in to say hi from my new house! The move went smoothly, all the furniture arrived , but we're still unpacking away and I'm sure we will be for a while. I can't find my scale! I've been getting in plenty of water though with all work, so at least it's something! Hubby and I are going to check out the elliptical we've been talking about, so hopefully something will come of that! Can't wait to catch up on how everyone's been doing! I miss you girls. PS. Moving day was also my 5 month quit smoking anni and I survived that too! Yippee!

Mexican with the boyfriend for lunch yesterday ó one tempeh taco and 8 tortilla chips for lunch, and I took home the other taco for dinner (I hardly EVER get a to-go box, especially after 1 taco!) and managed to stay "on plan" ó under the Medifast calories, carbs and fat but not with their products. I know this is cheating in the MF world, but as long as I'm still losing and it's keeping me sane, I'm going to keep taking the occasional day off from their food.

Kukkie84, Congrats on the new house!! Got any pictures?

CoCo, congrats on keeping up your crazy losses this month! :)

Athenacapella, sometimes it's a little overwhelming! If I jump in a thread late, I just post my first weigh-in and from then on respond to the posts after my post. Like Quantum, I open a new tab and scroll through it, and when I want to respond to something, I stop and go back to my response tab. No pressure ó I don't think anyone will be offended if we get skipped :)

Diana, you'll figure it out. If I feel heavy when I'm on plan, especially when there's, er, blockage, I can usually expect to hit a few days in a row of modest whooshes. You've done so amazing already! It'll work out.

Don't have a ton of time left for personals this time, but wanted to post a quick update that I first went down 0.4, then I am back up 0.6 to 252.4 this morning. I was way under calories, under my sodium intake, drank tons of water, but I had a huge workout last night...would that have something to do with it? Going up most of a pound overnight, when I was so sure I was going to have a whoosh was a disappointing surprise. Oh well, I will see what tomorrow brings.

Has anyone else noticed that that bounce up in weight the morning after a workout?

quantumsheep

opheliaphoenix: I gain weight the day after every weight lifting session, but it's gone the day after that, so it can definitely be part of it.

I did pretty well at the gs potluck. I only ate a few mini-quiches (that I brought and knew the nutritional info on), a small piece of cornbread, and a few bites of my son's brownie. It also helps that my stomach is still not at 100%! They had some yummy looking chili, but I knew my stomach couldn't handle it, so I passed.

I'm down .2 today, 186.6. :carrot: I'd have loved to continue my little .6 streak, but I'll take .2 all the same :yay:

I hope everyone's weekend is going well and that you are all on plan or at least only as off plan as you planned for ;)

quantum - glad you are doing ok. Take it easy as you continue to heal, I'm thinking the lack of yoga and weight lifting is a good idea. You could maybe do some of the yoga moves that don't require you to put weight on your hand and arm - that way you keep your body from getting to stiff on you. Congrats on the scale going down in spite of it all. Very gentle

CoCo - Yay Whoosh! :carrot:

Kukkie - I'm glad things went well with the move. I hope the elliptical shopping went well too. I wish I had room for an elliptical, but with a treadmill already ... sigh!

Paradise - Congrats on dropping even after the Mexican food. I think most people need a break sometimes and as long as it doesn't snowball, it is certainly better than letting yourself get so frustrated that you wanna give up. Plus stress hinders weight loss and being frustrated with the same old food all the time can be stressful.

Eclipse - :congrat: on the new low. I hope the potluck didn't mess with it too much. Congrats on avoiding temtations. I'm sorry your tummy is still not 100%.

Ophelia - for me it depends on the type of exercise, but that does happen. It'll go back down, hang in there! Don't give up the exercise. It can make the scale frustrating, but you get used to that and it is soooo worth it!

Athena - That sounds like a good plan. I wish they sold jerky too! I love jerky! Now you have given me a jerky craving. :dizzy:

Starbrite - Sorry about the scale, but we know it's just water from party foods and such, not to worry. You look cute in your tiny dress!

Oh, I forgot my weigh in, I lost 2.8, so I'm hovering just 2oz above the two-teens. I'm going to do my best today, I will eat in moderation, but we are having company so I'm not preparing the meal I would have if it was just a normal day. Hopefully all the cleaning I need to do before they get here will give me a bit of a calorie buffer.

Time 2 Lose It -- Congrats on your whoosh!

fitkristi: I bet you'll see a nice whoosh in a couple of days so hang in there. One of the perils of daily weighing, but I prefer it.

opheliaphoenix: I definitely have noticed in the past weight going up after a very hard workout - especially strength work. It makes me wonder sometimes on the Biggest Loser when in the timeline the "last chance workout" is. Is it the day before? 2 days before? Morning of? Who knows?

Well, signed an 18mos contract at Anytime fitness. Signed up me, my hubby and 13 year old :) So we are going to (hopefully) make it a nightly family outing. My daughter is right about 5 ft and weighs 109lbs - she has a tiny bit of belly, but I think she has a really cute shape but she's already doing the whole "oh my thighs are fat, oh I have a fat belly'. Such a bad age. So Im going to let her take control by going to the gym. If she wants to lose weight, she will have the tools. Hope im giving the right message, the last thing I want to do is mess with the fragile psyche of a 13 year old female.

Afternoon, ladies! I looked at a calendar today and found that there are 13 weeks until my cousin's wedding. I had originally set my goal at 225 for the wedding, which means I'd have to lose 3 pounds per week until then...I'm not sure if it's possible, but it would feel really great if I could do it. So this is me officially saying my goal is 3 pounds per week! Time to become my own :coach:/:drill:

My weekend check in! Wow, TOM makes so much sense why I was retaining water all week, why i wanted chocolate, and why I was SO hard on myself. I knew it was getting to be TOM time, but didn't realize completely THATS what the problem was, other than having sinus sickness.

This week is a new week! I am so excited about losing weight and spring and what I am trying to accomplish, the BIG picture. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Tomorrow we are off work because of presidents day.

Hubby and I are cleaning out the garage and cleaning up all the sticks in the backyard this weekend. Should be tons of fun. The last weekend of Grease is next weekend, and then I dont have to commit to being up at the Theatre every single night. Life is looking up! 235 here I come!

I'm up .8 today to 208.4

Had a really odd day with eating today. I got sidetracked this morning and accidentally skipped breakfast. My son and I went rollerskating for a little while this afternoon and went to a birthday dinner for a friend of mine at a chinese buffet. I had only eaten 100 calories when I got to the dinner. I definitely indulged but totally didnt go overboard. I chowed on the snap peas and carrots that they had. I loaded my plate with them twice! LOL I had 4 chicken wings and 3 pcs of sushi, some cold shrimp and a few bites of tempura seafood something or other. I gave the meal 900 calories total. I don't think it was that high but I'm really unsure because Chinese food is SOOO high in calories. I didn't overeat but I want to be as accurate as I can with my calories.

I'm feeling hungry now so once my son is in bed, I am going to have the rest of my bag of salad. I've got some deli turkey that I can throw on top of it. Needless to say, I am drinking water like it's going out of style.

Trying to be proactive. Hoping that I won't have TOO bad of a jump in the morning. :crossed:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!!! :D

I had to come and report how well I did even with having company over today! I made the cheesy mashed potatoes they requested, but I changed up the recipe -- it was 1/3 potato, 1/3 celery root, 1/3 cauliflower...for cheese I used ultra low fat cream cheese and a bit of cheddar -- totally yummy, but I didn't go overboard. Other than that it was protein + veggies, and I bought a big fruit tray for dessert. (The kids had 2 bite brownies). I weighed myself a few minutes ago and I'm only up 2lbs from this morning, so that bodes well for tomorrow. I'm proud of myself for not using the company as an excuse to go really off plan. Next hurdle is to order well tomorrow -- we are going out for dinner with the same folks.

Sounds like you handled the buffet well Vixsin, if you do gain in the morning it will probably be water retention, should be short term.

Good Morning!

I have had no sleep what so ever! I am so glad that I am going to the endo tomorrow. I could have ran a marathon last night! I have a lower dosage of Synthroid from when I had to take 2 different dosages of meds. I took a whole pill and then a half. This combination is 32 mcg less than what I was taking. I don't know that it will make a difference for tonight, but we'll see.

I'm down .4 today! :cb: I was worried because my sodium intake yesterday was way higher than normal. I had Quiznos and then a bunch of samples while we were at Whole Foods. We got some really really yummy cheeses though. I am having some with my lunch today and I can't wait!:T They were out of TVP though and won't get any until Wednesday! But I did get some more red wheat! That stuff is so yummy it is just ridiculous. We also got a jicama, which I had never had. I peeled it and cut it up for dinner. Hubby wanted his raw, but I wamed mine with a little lemon lime salt and a dash of chili powder and it was awesome! :T

I hope that everyone who gets a long weekend is enjoying it, but not TOO much! Happy President's Day or Family Day or Today Day!

Time2loseit - Yay whoosh! :carrot:

Diana - Your little calories in + :coffee: always makes me :D Congrats on the scale behaving nicely. I'm sorry you're still not sleeping well. I hope you can get the meds sorted soon.

Angie - Yay whoosh! :broc: Congrats on doing well with the company over. I hope dinner out goes well too. Maybe you could request it not be Boston Pizza? .2's not much, and it'll be back off in no time anyhow.

Bulletproof - Yay whoosh!:cb:

Athena - Ya gotta love when the scale surprises you in a good way!

Willow - I think if you encourage her to workout in order to be strong and healthy rather than just to lose weight or keep from gaining then it will help her self esteem and not damage her psyche. I think family trips o the gym are an awesome idea and will help to instill a great healthy habit.

Eclipse - Congrats on the .6 and on being in the 160s. :cp:

Vixsin - Grrrr scale  It'll go back down though, not to worry. Congrats on doing so well with the buffet even though you hadn't really eaten all day!

Starbrite - Yay for waterweight whoosh! :carrot:

fitkristi - Welcome back to Onederland. :flow1: Sit, stay a while!

Matilda - Yay, a good weekend! :woohoo:

Hello, ladies!! I've officially decided to start exercising. I bought Walk It Out for the Wii ó it should come tomorrow, and I'm going to start walking at least half and hour or 45 minutes a day. I'm a little skeptical about whether that'll actually make a difference, but I figure anything should help.

eclipse, congrats on officially having fled the 170s! :cb:

Paradisefalls -- Me too, I use company as an excuse sometimes to cook something not at all on plan, that's why I was so excited, that PLUS they really liked it and everyone had seconds (except me! lol)

Fitgirl -- We decided on another Italian place because kids eat free today, but I've look ahead on the menu and picked out stuff that will come to about 700-800 calories and is on plan (chicken/salad basically) that I will still enjoy.

Congratulations to everyone who lost weight or made a healthy choice for food or exercise today!! :flow1:

Paradise: Great job on deciding to exercise! If you walk for 30-45 mins a day, you will see a difference. Cardio is a great way to jump start things. I did the same thing. I started with a little cardio just to get moving. It makes a difference and it also will help you branch out into other exercises. Great job!!!

So....I am ELATED to report that the gain I received from Chinese buffet yesterday was only .4!!! :woohoo: So I'm only up to 208.8. I am so happy!!!!!! I guess all that water I chugged really helped! I feel so triumphant. I have been totally on plan today and am not worried about it for the rest of the day.

Not much exercise for me today other than house cleaning and I have to shovel the sidewalk from the little snow we got this morning. In weirder news, my pecs are SUPER sore today. HUH?!?!?! I can't figure out why. Bizarre.

Hi Everyone!

I've been thinking about my goal weight again. Saturday when when I went to pick up my friend to meet our DH's for dinner, her daughter was at the house. Her daughter is a nurse and my age. She informed me that I don't need to lose another ounce. My friend said the same thing. The main thing that they mentioned is that I don't want to look too thin though the face and upper body. I have had a lot of people tell me this recently when I tell them that I have a couple more pounds to lose. My DH says to do whatever I want. When I am happy, he's happy. My goal is to stay within a range of 155-160.

Should I even be trying to get to 155? What are you opinions on this?

As you know, I am going to the Endo tomorrow. I am going to ask her opinion. If I recall, I am within the range she wanted.

I am trying to figure out, is there a reason to lose to 155? Especially if I am wanting to stay within a range and the middle of that range is 157-158.

Opinions please! Let me hear them! Why is the simplest things such a PITA for me? Also, I would probably already be at 155 if I was getting the proper sleep.

Hi Diana!

And I didn't think much of it when I put my jeans on this morning but the rest of my pants are in the wash so I grabbed a pair from the back of my closet (no comments on my terrible house cleaning skills, I'm a career woman). Today I went to the ladies room and I suddenly realized... These pants don't fit! These used to be TIGHT on me, they were the 'booty jeans' because I knew they would hug my bottom and thighs. Now it looks like my butt is sagging because they are loose! Sucks that I realized this at work because I can't really change but ... yay!

Dianna I say go to where you are comfortable. If you are comfortable here, then stop and work on maintaining. Maybe getting to 155 will give you a little more cushion? I mean only you know where you will be happy in the end.

Eclipse - you are doing great girl!

Madame - I have the saggy booty syndrome happening with my pants too. Unfortunately I usually fill them back out, but hoping to break that habit for good.

That's about all I remember right now to respond too lol bbl

Diana - I'm going to echo some of the other girls and say just do what you're comfortable with. Sometimes I feel like people make the "you don't want to look too thin" comments when they're just used to us being bigger. In the end it's all about how you feel. I think the biggest advantage you could possibly ever have is that your DH is so supportive of whatever you want to do with it! All the power to you.

In my world, I'm really scared to get back on the scale. We've been so busy unpacking lately and between the takeout and the food people have been bringing by, I just know that my week of maintenance went out the window. On the flip side, my kitchen is fully set up and fridge stocked with healthy goodies, so tonight will be our first home-cooked meal. We ended up buying our elliptical yesterday as well. Decided we wanted to get one based on reviews and features rather than price, and luckily for us there was an amazing model on sale at Sears and they were having a scratch and save. We still spent a hefty chunk of change on it, but it'll be worth it in the end. Unfortunately, they have to order it in though and we won't get it until at least mid March *sigh* but we've decided with the weight machine we have already, there's a perfect area in our finished basement that we're converting into a home gym, so yay for us! I'm really excited about it.

I remember back when I was losing weight in 2003. I had gotten down to 225 and though I was getting lots of compliments I also got "you don't need to lose more" and one even said "You look like you are sick" I realize now I didn't look sick. I looked great! I do believe she was just used to me looking lots more filled out plus I was smaller than her for the first time. I didn't get lower than 224/225 and sometimes I think the comments played a part in that. I stopped weighing in, I stopped trying and went back to old ways... This time will be different!!

Diana - Only you know what the figure will be - mine is an arbitrary 153 ! Not actually arbitrary at all though as it represents under 11 stone and under 70 kgs and is at a normal weight. You only have 1.6 lbs to get to goal - I say go for it. Like many others have said, you are a complete inspiration for many of us. Whatever you decide to do, we are immensely proud of you!
Kukkie- Yay, an elliptical - I'd love one of those, we had one but my son broke it !
I have had a weird time lately, don't know whats occurring, but yesterday I swear I could actually feel myself losing weight

Good Morning!

I slept better last night, but still not great. Endo appointment today. Hopefully the sleep issues will be resolved soon. I ate on plan and in my calorie range last night, but I think the food had extra salt in it. I had a bounce up this morning. Overall, I feel I'm in a better frame of mind today than yesterday. :dizzy: That's a good thing! ;)

Calories for yesterday: 1440

Weigh In: 157.6

Up: 1 pound.

Hi ladies! *waves*

Diana- I'm not where you are yet, but it's my goal to get into normal weight which is 159. Knowing all too well I wont be done when I get there. But like you, how will you ( I ) know it? Like most all ladies mentioned, you have to look at yourself and feel good and comfortable, we already know what BMI range says is good, but you have to say it too. Perhaps there is a target area you want to focus on, perhaps not! I know for me, the reason why I know I'll go on is because I want to move into the middle of the normal weight stage. I never want to be too close to be 'overweight' but I as sick in the head as it may sound, I never want to be so thin either that if I get ill for some reason that my body has no reserve to fall back on for fuel to see me through. Not sure if my mentality helps at all, lmao, but I thought I'd shoot it out there!

I'm watching and reading, so keep on posting!

As for me, When you run long distance it can weaken the immune system, unfortuantely my husband brought home a stomach bug at the exact moment I was in recovery from a 2 1/2 hour run and I ended up losing an incredible amount of weight from water loss. I'm actually all balanced out now and having peeing clear for 2 days but my body is still in recovery, today will be my first full day back to working out routine!

Stay on track girls, doing great!

Well after weight training yesterday following 2 days off, too much sodium, and not enough sleep, I am up .6 to 186.8. It's ok though, just water. I can deal. I did 50 minutes on an elliptical yesterday. While, I have been exercising, I hadn't been on an elliptical in months. I had an elliptical craving. Who knew one could even have exercise cravings ;) Might go do some more today instead of extra time on the treadmill after my C25K.

Paradise - Sorry for the hungry making. I bet you will be surprised by what a difference it makes once you start exercising.

Diana - I really think it is up to you at this point. You aren't far above 155, the difference will almost certainly not make you look too thin in the face or anything. You are also close enough that if you feel like you've made it you could call it goal. You're already within what you have chosen as your maintenance zone, so if you want to be done, I think that's ok, but if it will bother you forever that you didn't get to 155 then I think it is ok to keep reaching for it too.

Kukkie - Congrats on the elliptical and on having your new kitchen all sorted out. Yay healthy meals!

Willow - Is better to know.

Twinmomma - Sorry you've been ill, glad you are recovering.

fitkristi - WooHoo. Yay whooshes!

Vixsin - Congrats on getting rid of water weight and getting house chores done. Yay gym!

Coco - Yay, a down arrow! I love your little arrows!

Hi Everyone!

I just got back from the Endo. My BP was great, it's 107/70. I think I've lost 12 pounds since I was there last. The Dr. is absolutely thrilled with my weight loss. My medicine is a little high, but it's not as much as the last time. She's dropping it to the next dose down. I asked her about my weight range. She said that I am just within the normal BMI range. If I want to stop there that I can and she would support me. (do you hear what's coming? can you sense it?) But she would encourage me to just continue with my current lifestyle (eating and exercising) and see if my weight will naturally settle around 145. It seemed like she didn't want me to try any harder, just to continue what I've been doing. I expressed my concern with the comments I've been getting from other people. She asked me what does my DH say about it. (this is actually funny, because he is also a patient there. I have a feeling if I had said he was NOT supportive, she would give him an attitude adjustment on his next visit.) Anyways I told her that he is 100% supportive and says for me to do what makes me happy. She said he is a very smart man. ;) On to her response about the comments I've been getting. She said for me not to listen to them. She said that our society is so used to everyone being overweight, obese, and morbidly obese, that they get uncomfortable when someone is in a normal weight range.

The other thing she wanted me to do is to start taking an additional Vitamin D supplement. She said that hypothyroidism and Vitamin D deficiency go hand and hand.

She has also referred me to an allergist so I can get tested for my food allergies. I have it narrowed down, but I want to see what type of seafood, if any, I can eat.

YIKES! I almost didn't post because I'm kind of ashamed of myself, but here I am being accountable. I knew I had probably gained a bit during the move, what with the constant takeout and well intentioned but very unhealthy meals people kept bringing over. I just didn't realize how much. This morning I weighed in at 199.1 and it really shocked me into realizing how easy it is to gain all the weight back if you're not careful. It took me a few hours to post this (I had to wallow in my own pity a bit first) but the fact of the matter is, this is entirely in my own hands and I have the power to change this. So I will. It's as simple as that.

So incredibly true! I'm glad things went well overall with the doctor. It's interesting what you said about the Vitamin D and hypothyroidism. I've never been told that and I don't think I've been tested for it in the last 10 years that I've been on Synthroid either! However, I was told to start taking B12 supplements at my physical last week, apparently it was the contributing factor to my constant fatigue.

Hello folks! I went to visit my folks over the long weekend and was away from my scale. It was probably a good thing. ;) Anyway I'll be back with some personal greetings over over my lunch hour but for now I just wanted drop in quick to say (clearing my throat) ...

I've now officially fallen behind goal. I'm going to try adding restricting carbs to my calorie counting.

Total Weight Change for February: -4.0

Diana: I'm doing okay. I'm just about all healed up. Honestly, the accident really threw me off track, and I'm only now getting back on track. C'est la vie. I'm actually about to take my lunch to work out, so I hope the scale might be back where it's supposed to be by Thursday. I read your update about your doctor, and I'm glad things are going well there.

Kukkie84: I can relate to a few days making a huge difference. I regained a couple pounds when I took some days after my accident to get my head back in the game. I can't believe it happened so fast.

eclipse: Congratulations on the 120 lb loss! Amazing.

carter: Congratulations on Onederland!

Dayna: Maybe you just overloaded on the salt and the scale will give you a better report tomorrow.

This is my 1st day weighing in and I'm 177 lbs.

It's been several years since I've even seen the 160s as I fluctuate between 178 and 172. I'm determined to see the 160s by mid March.
