Question Help for a newbie...

I'm following the plan and also tracking what I've eaten at the end of the day just so I have a grasp on why my scale says what it says at the end of the week (hopefully).

I eat about every 2 hours and I eat small portions each time.

Yesterday was day 1 and I had about 48 g of carbs and 1600+ calories. Most of which (25) came from the Ph1 Stuffed Bell Pepper I had for dinner.

Today I still have dinner and probably one more snack let and I'm only at 600+ calories but have had 55 g of carbs. It looks like my two things I've had today that were high in carbs was a serving of the Ph1 Refried Bean Soup and my 2 c. of Non-Fat Milk. Everything else I've had has been low in carbs (5 or under).

Is there a magical number of carbs I should stay under carb wise?

I think I'm so nervous I'm doing something wrong because I'm enjoying it soooo much

Please don't worry about carbs - this is a good carb. not a low carb plan. You are doing just fine.

Okay. That's probably all I needed to hear. Being on WW since 2009 has drilled it into my head that I have to track SOMETHING! That will be a hard habit to move away from.

Thanks!

I would say for south beach as long as they are good carbs- ie your veggies and beans then you are doing fine. Most of your carbs on south beach will come from there

Once you find around how many carbs you can eat and still lose then you should be all set. I know for me my "number" seems to be anything under 100 grams of carbs, but this was through tons of trial and error

You sure will find that dairy and beans, as well as nuts, have carbs but don't be alarmed. It sounds like you are doing just great!

I felt the same way when I started with South Beach - "This CAN'T be a *diet*! The food is too good!"

You're doing great! No need to count carbs. The only things I count are veggies (try for 4.5 cups a day) and nuts (to keep myself honest about one serving because I LOVE nuts).

I agree -- if you need to count something (which I can totally relate to btw), count servings and portion sizes
