Sherry you have such beautiful attatchments. Love them. Yes I do cross stitch but only if I have a particular person in mind to give it to, or a special place that I would like to hang it. It is enjoyable though.

HAPPY 6th DAY OF DECEMBER!!! ONLY 20 days until CHRISTMAS!!!!

We all know the real meaning of Christmas, but just for fun, list some of the things that you want this year!!!

On my list: Artist paints, canvas, perfume, wine supplies/equipment, a rememberance necklace, and a healthy and happy family...

Shelley: Do you celebrate Christmas with your in-laws?

Ramona: Step away from the Son and check in with us!!!!! Really, hope your having a blast enjoying both of your sons!!! You can update us later.

Sher: Done Christmas shopping yet? I have one more gift to get off lay-a-way and one to purchase. Almost all are wrapped. Steve helped out wrapping this year, which has been a BIG difference.

Dee: Did you have time to check out the wine cork wreath's?? I think they would be really pretty with clusters of faux grapes and ribbon with a wine bottle or vineyard like pattern.

Well missing Floozies.... please post and let us know how life is treating you. Santa said: No posting...No presents!!!!

Gayle-I do celebrate with my dreaded in-laws. I would much rather be somewhere else, though!! Do I sound like Bah-Humbug?? Not really, it's just the in-laws.

Deelite

Gayle I did look up the wreaths. I really like the wine with the grapes too. I think that I will go buy a bag of corks and some grapes and whip one up. I might just make two, one that is a ring around the candle too. Thanks. I just need some ideas. The old brain is dead! I had never heard of a one gallon wine kit until Jay ordered one of ebay. I don't think that we sell them here. Us canadians need more wine to keep us warm. lol

GUESS WHAT GIRLS ??? Yippee Yippee ......I found an owl like my nephew says! I guess that isn't much of a hint for you all. I found $50.00, the bill has an owl on it! Sure did pay to walk this morning. I found it on the street.

Ramona you still out there? How are you enjoying your time with the family? Save up all the memories. It will get you through the lonely times later on.

Shelley to bad about your in-laws but my mil sucks most of the time too. We are seeing my fil tonight for his retirement/ christmas party tonight. Haven't seen him in 1 1/2 years. He isn't a bad person we do get along but he isn't a family man. He is single and loving it. Likes to drink and party his life away.

So it is party time for our family tonight. There is a dinner and a dance. I love to dance so it should be fun. Larry's dad booked to rooms at the hotel so if we can't drive because of drinking we wi crash there. Our drinking laws just got tougher this week again. If you are caught over the limit they now can impound your vehicle and SELL it. Don't want to do that, we only have one and I wouldn't want to lose that money. So if we are to come home tonight the driver will only be allowed about 2 drinks in the whole evening and maybe 3 but that is pushing it.

Well that is all for now. Have a good weekend.

O.K. Gayle, I'll let go of him just long enough to post!
Ben got in about 10:00 last night. The icy weather delayed them a couple of hours. He looks so great! He is a big boy (6'2") and my ribs are sore today from him picking me up and swinging me around!:dizzy:
I've got an extremely busy weekend. We're having a family dinner for Ben tonight at my parents house. Tomorrow I have to work and then go straight to the church building and help set up for our annual ladies' appreciation dinner and then I have to help serve the dinner in the evening. Sunday we have a Christmas party at noon at Dan's National Guard unit and I have to make a desert for that. So much for my day off!!!

As far as what I want for Christmas, the only thing I can think of is a nice pair of houseshoes and to be able to go the rest of the year without the police calling or showing up at my door for something ds has done. That would be the best present ever. I've been pretty down over the situation the last week or so. I feel like I don't have any joy in my heart anymore. Oh well, I don't mean to bum everyone out during the holiday season, so I'll just hush and wish everyone a wonderful holiday time.

As far as all of you with MIL trouble, I guess I was one of the fortunate few. I loved my MIL dearly. She passed on Christmas Eve 5 years ago and I miss her so much.

I've got to go and finish printing the menus for tomorrow night so I'll close for now. I hope you all have a terrific weekend.

Love you all,
Ramona

Ramona I am so glad that you posted! Don't fret about bringing us down. We are all here for you to vent when you need to. I sure have done my share, and I thank everyone of you for listening and halping me through it. Just remember Ramona that this is not your fault, it is a bad judgement call on your son. As much as it hurts you, you have to let it go. You have no control over the situation. Remember that you are a good mother and you did the best you could. It is up to your children now to make the right desisions. It is part of the growing up experience. Enjoy your time with Ben. Have a great weekend.

Ramona!!!! So thrilled that you let that son of yours put you down long enough to check in!!!! I know you love both of your sons, and I also understand what you are saying about not having any joy left in your heart. Just try to remember through all the trials that God never gives us any more then we can handle. Sometimes it takes some children longer to grow up then others.

Mother-Inlaws!!!! YEEK!!!!! I have been blessed to have a bad one and a good one!!! My first one reminded you of a heavy set version of the wicked witch on Wizard of Oz. The second MIL that I currently have is a small built lady with a strong will, but very lovable. She would never think of saying unkind words. The first MIL prides herself in hurting peoples feelings and continues to do so even after years of my not being in the family. In fact, last week was the daughters 18th b-day, she neglected to send a card or call just to prove a point.

Well, guess I better go, someone at the door!!!

Hey girls...still alive over here! I can't seem to get into the spirit of Christmas! I'm sure as **** not ready to shop, although I did look around in a few stores while waiting to pick Son up from the SAT testing today.

On the weight loss front, I kept a food journal on my 3FC journal link for two days, "messed up," then just now deleted it. Story of my life! Anyhow, I weighed in this morning at 231...still the same. I have, however, realized that I am starting to really get that hanging-belly fat that laps over the top of my pelvic region. YUK! I haven't noticed that before. Is this just a sign of age? My skin is starting to rebel? HELP! (If ever there was a reason to lose it, I think I've found it!) :p

Jennelle......Hang in there!! Right after Christmas, I'm right back OP!!!!! I'm going to be giving "butt kicks" and I except to get them too!!! The first of the year..."We'll ALL be OP!!!!" :D

We're going to some friends house tonight.Tomorrow Debbie & I will be working the Titans game so if I don't post again until Monday.......HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!! And be careful out there shopping!!!!!! :grouphug:

Hey Sher, I noticed that you have a George Forman grill on your list. I would strongly suggest a HAMILTON BEACH. Steve bought me one about three years ago and I LOVE it!!! My Mommy has a GF and it seems to be not as large. I have used mine so much that the teflon coating is starting to come off!!

OMG!! My twin grand nieces are the cutest things you ever did see!! I saw them for the first time last night, and will be going over 1st thing this morning. They are 5 months old now. I'll try to attach a picture after we take about 1000 of them!! My brother, his wife, and their kids and grandkids are all going to be at my parents today for a Chanukah party. It should be fun, even if we can't afford many gifts--being together will be nice!! I am giving my other neice (2 year old sister of the 5 month old twins) my kid's Little Tykes dollhouse. It looks brand new and she will love it.

Had a nice time at the Temple Chanukah party last night. All the kids were in a play and we had a dinner afterward.

I haven't done my Christmas shopping yet. I had to get through Chanukah first, then start doing the Christmas thing!! This having 2 separate holidays is hard!!!!

Jennelle-Don't sweat the weight!! Hey, at least you haven't gained!! I haven't been able to stop eating lately. Thank goodness I am able to jog again, or I'd be packing on the lbs. immediately!! Tis the season to eat, eat, eat and enjoy it!!

Vicki-Sounds like you are keeping very busy too!!

Sherry and Debbie- Do you ever STOP????? You girls are the busiest people I know. You work, work, work---must be rolling in the dough!!

Dee-It has warmed back up here again. The high today is to be around 80. I wish it would stay cold!! It's so much easier to jog when it's nice out. Do you bundle up in the minus degree weather? Even at 50 degrees, I start out with a long sleeve shirt then end up tying it on my waist and have my tank top on and sweating.

Well, I need to get busy and start folding and stamping 135 invitations to the Bat Mitzvah that should have been sent out last week! My parents bought the stamps for me, since I didn't have the money. I had to also get postcard stamps for the RSVP. I have the best parents in the world. They make up for EVIL MIL 1000 times over!!

Have a good Sunday!
Love to Everyone!

Enjoy your holiday Shelley!!!! I understand so well what your saying about being broke. It is a weekly struggle to keep the bills paid at times. Then add an unexpected charge and that really wreaks havoc on the budget!!!

Fellow Floozies: I have a deal that you can send to six people with the possibility of getting 36 kitchen towels back. You can even list the colors or patterns desired to match your decor. I need to get them mailed out in the next day or two... if your interested in getting the letter to send out to 6 of your friends, holler so I can send one to you.

HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY!

Hey Dee, I hate to sound like a dense head, but I was just looking at the calender. What exactly is Kwanzaa boxing day in Canada???? :o

Deelite
12-08-2002, 04:14 PM
Gayle never heard of "kwanzaa boxing day" but we have boxing day. It is the day after christmas when we put out all our boxes from our gifts for the garbage men. It originated many years ago and really doesn't really mean anything except another holiday. We have grand boxing day sales, the best sales of the year. I guess that would be what boxing day is now. Not really an exciting celebration.

Shelley gee i hope that you don't call it bundling up when you put a long sleeve shirt on. lol Oh man you should see the layers that I need to keep warm. i wear ski pants and a sweater under my jacket. I have a neckie and a scarf to keep my neck warm. Then a touque for my head and winter boots with insulated socks to keep the tooties warm. My mitts are for -20 weather. Now you can only imagine how I roll out of the house. I feel like a snowman with all the extra clothes, but that is the only way to keep warm. And when it is really cold I add an extra layer underneath and no visible skin showing. Larry was glad to hear it warmed up because he left for Florida today.

Have a good day. Will report more later.

I am so sad :(
Larry's best friend from work was going to florida with him today didn't go. Larry phoned him this morning to ask if he was ready to go. He said to Larry no and that he mustn't have heard. Larry said heard what? Brian said that my baby brother was killed last night. He was hit by a semi truck. Micheal lost control of the car and went into the other lane towards a semi that was heading right at him. He was only 19. When we heard about it I had a feeling that we knew who it was. It happenned about 2 miles from here. I thought maybe Jay went to school with him because they were the same age. They never released his name so we had no idea who it was. My heart felt for the family immediately not even knowing who it was. Christmas is the worst time to lose someone. Micheal was the baby of 8 boys. His father is a surgeon and has to brothers that are doctors. I am sure that when he arrived at the hospital that they did everything possible to save him but just couldn't. Such an unnecessary death. Thanks for listening again to my troubles.

Dee, so sad to hear of such a tragic loss. I guess we never know when something might happen. We had a similar accident happen a few weeks ago here, the boy hit the semi and died instantly, he was 21. I too feel so sorry for the families, it is hard at any time, but the holidays seem to me that it would be so much harder to handle.
Forget about apologizing to us for listening to your troubles, that is what we are here for, plus you always help anyone out that needs helpful advice.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.
We had a good time at our parties. The National Guard party was really good. Dan got a promotion and they had us come up and do the pinning ceremony.
Sherry, Ben will be here until January 3, 2003.
I am attempting to post a picture. The quality is not very good, but you can get the general idea.

Dee-I'm so sorry to hear about the loss. It is always difficult, but especially at holiday time.

We had a great time yesterday. I ate and ate and ate!!! My grand neice that just turned 2 is a genius!! She can count to 10, you can ask her what color you are wearing, and she tells you, she even knows where her liver is in her body!! I can't believe how smart she is. This is the sister of the 5 month old twins. Her mom is still wanting to have more children!! I told her she is nuts!!

Ramona-What a beautiful picture!!

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes!!

Love to all of you!
