Ahh, new thread!

I posted this in the last one, but I weighed in at 156.8lbs, so I consider that my "starting point" now. I'm wiping the slate clean and starting over.

I have approximately 42lbs to lose to get to my goal of 115lbs.

Today I had:

B: 1 slice of Whole Wheat Nature's Own, done up french toast style (without butter, milk or sugar), 1 T of peanut butter, 1/2 t of sugar free grape jelly, 1 serving of Chai Oatmeal

L: 1 c. Cheese tortellini (350 calories according to the box), 1/2 c. marinara sauce

S: 5 Cheese crackers

D: 1 c. steamed broccoli, 8 steamed asparagus spears, 2 slice Whole Wheat Nature's Own, 1 slice cheddar cheese, 2 serving of sliced deli turkey

Later I plan on having a snack of a serving of roasted almonds.

I'm really carb heavy today, but I'll be coming in at 1297 calories, give or take since I did have skim milk in my coffee this morning and didn't count it.

I'm going to fire up the Wii and do some "running" on there once the kids go to bed!

I did pretty good today, I went around my loop 3 x and stayed on it with my calories even though i had a big sausage in a bread roll for dinner. Yum.

Keep at it ladies.

Good evening.

I have absolutely no appetite. It is the strangest thing, because I have been eating like mad for so many years.

Scale is down to 152; 13 pound loss.

Hey guys!

Breakfast - Three slices 35 cal bred, 2tb PB2 peanut butter and some cinnamon (I was experimenting, I usually prefer the PB2 in my shakes) - 180 cals

Snack - Adkins Advantage Shake - 160 cals

Lunch - Chicken + Salad and an apple - 280 cals

Snack - 2 TB real peanut butter - 190 cals

Dinner - Lots of veggies - 2.5 servings of a frozen summer veggie mix (which had way more sodium than I realized!) 2 servings of sugar snap peas + some parmesean cheese + a 40 cal fudgesicle - 240 cals

1100 cals total (76 net carbs)... but I'm going out with the girls tonight and am allowing myself 3 vodka sodas... Myplate puts those at 75 cals each, does that sound right?

Great day today.:D:D I stayed on plan and even survived a potluck dinner tonight. Potlucks are dangerous for me because you are never sure of the ingredients used or calorie counts. I solved that issue by eating what I had cooked and brought to the potluck. I also ate a small mixed salad without dressing and I drank only black unsweetened coffee.

My total calories for today are 1044 :carrot:

I was also able to walk a mile even though we had a persistent drizzel all day. :)

The best news is I have dropped another 2 pounds reaching 284. I started January 6th and I have lost 33 pounds. YEA!! :carrot:

Hi friends!

I had a pretty good day foodwise.
B- cheerios and skim milk
L- lean pround prk and pinto beans
S- granola thin
D- Teriyaki Beef, asparagus and 1/2 c velveeta shells and cheese. I was mad at myself for that but I didn't love the beef and felt like I needed something more satisfying.

It was 1460 calories and my trainer wants me at 140g protein. I didn't quite get there (119g)- but I couldn't have eaten anymore meat and I like to keep my calories under at least 1500(he thinks I should have more calories- but we seem to be agreeing to disagree at this point). I still need to clarify with him how many fat and carb grams. The only thing that I remember is less fat grams on days I have more carbs grams. I'm getting a bit weighed down with all these instructions.

I had a great workout today. 30 minute full body strength training and then 45 minutes on elliptical. My trainer had me doing interval training. He wanted on the hard interval my strides per minute to be at least 160. I was like- oh I can't do that... well I can and did. He said to try to go for 20-25 minutes... well I went for 38 until he TOLD me to stop. I was kind of proud!

LLBold- Great treadmilling! What do you try to keep your carbs under?

I was up 2 pounds on Tuesday and I finally got rid of them this morning so I am anxious to go to sleep and have tomorrow come. I am hoping to be down a pound from 193. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

breakfast: 2 packets apple cinnamon oatmeal with 1 tablespoon agave nectar 400 calories
lunch: serving nutritional yeast and brown rice pasta with arrowroot "cheeze" and plain organic soymilk 350 calories
dinner: 1 ezekial sprouted tortilla with 1 serving more vegan cheese and 1 serving tofu sour "cream" 300 calories
also i had a awake black tea latte with soy milk from starbucks... bad habit. 300 calories
usually i eat more veggies but today all that sounded good was very bland food. and i usually dont eat so much vegan cheese lol. but having the flu i dont feel bad about it. ... ive also managed to drink a full 8 glasses of water today. which is good :)
1350 calories.. not horrible. i want to start a 1200 calorie a day diet... i just need to cut my starbucks habit and itd be super easy.

I love that "new thread" smell... :)

RaineBrit: Welcome!!! :welcome3: Your food doesn't sound bland to me at all!! LOL I think 1350 was great for you. Since you're tall like me, 1200 may be on the low side for you. See what works best for your body, just be sure you're giving it enough fuel. :) We're happy you're here with us!

Stacy: Great workout today!!!! I love the elliptical.

Larry: Congrats!!! :high:

LLBold: Great workout! How do you like the PB2? I just ordered some today. I am very curious about it.

Sum: Great job on that 13 lbs!!

Pint: I like that pep in your step, girly!!!

Staceygee... I'm not really trying to do SUPER low carb... around 100g most days... it keeps me from craving sweets and other bad things! The key for me is keeping my snacks low-carb (e.g. atkins shake and peanut butter have about 5-6 carbs each, I think my protein shakes have around 7g) ... and when I have traditional carbs, I try for things that have high fiber so it reduces the net count (the 35 cal breads have like 8g carbs but like 3 g fiber each, and I also love Kelllogs Cinnamon Oats fiber cereal). I also don't REALLY count my carbs when they are veggies... I'm not going to skip some veggies just because it will put me over 100g for the day.

Vixsin... PB2 is just okay when actually used as peanut butter (better if you do 2 tb milke or almond milk instead of water... but it is AMAZING in shakes! It makes my protein shakes and smoothies taste awesome.

Today I didn't really have much of an appetite but I tried to keep something in my belly

L: smoked turkey sandwich and a cup of mixed fruit
D: chicken breast (half) with some brocoli
S: apple slices

L- PB & J on whole wheat wrap 230, mixed fruit cup 70, ¼ c. cashews 160 (460)

Definitely shouldn't have had the cake...it's been tempting me for days...it's gone now with the help of DH. But, I got a killer workout in tonight...Insanity is an appropriate name for that workout! Up late. DD had volleyball practice and didn't get all her homework done before she went so now she has to finish up. High school is rough some days! I had to brush my teeth so I wouldn't snack. Was a rough day. Did get in a 30min walk and 20min on bowflex...however I had one of those darn lattes again. I get 29 points on weight watchers and a large latte takes up 7 of them. Dumb!! I would save 2 points if I would just order it skinny. So trying to stay within my points I tried to scale back my menu. However after getting home tonight I was hungry and instead of just deciding to eat and sitting at the table with a snack...I just started munching. Nothing good either. Soooo...that's what brought on the teeth brushing.

Doing this post on my phone and its not easy....DD on my computer! Looks like there r some good successesbeing posted! I am really hoping for this next 2lbs + a little so im under 200. Oh and I did remember to do my measurements. Very interested to see changes. Tomorrow I am hoping for a little less craziness and I can do personals!

Good Morning all!

My meeting with my advisor went really well. I still can't believe I'm actually going to go back to school. I hope I can keep up with all those youngins. ;) Though, the college is more for adults (almost all classes are at night), so they should be more around my age. Boy, do I feel old saying all that...

Yesterday's Info:

Exercise: LS 4 fast miles
Breakfast: Kellogg's cereal, almond milk, coffee
Snack: popcorn
Lunch: Spring Mix Salad, chocolate digestive biscuit
Snack: pretzel sticks
Dinner: Snobby Joes
Dessert: handful of cashews, because my calories for the day were only 900!

Calories: 1,128

On Wednesday, I went to a Bible study with friends I hadn't seen in a while. Every single one commented on my weight loss. I was starting to get a little uncomfortable. :o One of them said that I walked by and they didn't even recognize me at first. Another kept saying "Wooooow" every time he looked at me. I didn't know what to say anymore and the attention was a bit overwhelming. I just kinda got quiet and found a corner to hide in. It's so weird! I used to do that, because I didn't want anyone to see me so heavy. Now, I'm hiding from the other kind of attention. People have commented on my weight loss before, but I guess a whole gang of them at once was a little overwhelming. I felt so silly!

Whoops! A friend just called and she's stopping by. I'd better do a quick whirlwind clean!! I'll be back later with personals!

I held steady at my 152. Scale even flashed 151.5 lbs. -- So close to my 140's.
My husband is really liking my shrinking frame :) He keeps staring at me  Also with weight loss, I have been dressing up each day quite nice, wearing make up and doing my hair. -- I used to feel so yucky and I just wore sweats and no make up.

Looks like my DD has some blood sugar issues. She is eating now every two hours. She got really scared. She is not very food driven, but she realizes that next time she could get hurt even worse. -- So she is packing string cheese, apples to take with her to school.

Plan for today is to walk 4 miles. My eating is off. I am forcing myself to eat. I have no appetite. Has this ever happened to you when started following healthy diet?

You are done losing and in maintance, aren't you? Then buy them! I bought $90.00 DKNY jeans in December and then had to pay $12 to get them taken in around the waist b/c I had only worn them twice before the waist was too big. Now they are already too big again but I don't think they can be taken in anymore. So now I have spent over $100.00 on the jeans and have worn them about 5 times. Not worth it!

It's always nice when DH gives me a second look! ;) Enjoy it!! I'm sorry to hear about your DD, hopefully those little snacks will help regulate her blood sugar.

Great work walking 4 miles! :D When I first started I didn't have that problem. After a while, things that normally sounded good, didn't and I really had to try and figure what I could eat that sounded appetizing. That's key I think when you go through that "phase," if you like it and it's healthy eat it until your appetite returns.

I have been thinking about this a lot. I have been getting a lot of compliments. Mostly from people at the gym... I am afraid it will go to my head and I won't keep going. It is like I am getting the compliments TOO SOON.

LindseyLou
02-11-2011, 10:21 AM
It is like I am getting the compliments TOO SOON.

Stacy, you deserve the comments. ****, you ALL do! You gals are rocking it and it's showing! You're certainly not getting them "too soon." You've lost 71 pounds, that's amazing! I can only speak from my limited experience with comments, is that it can be weird/awkward like Diana said. I would much rather someone just tell me I "look good" versus "You look like you've lost weight!"

I'm not sure if I told you ladies what my aunt said to me during our visit at Christmas but I'll share. First here's some background info on my aunt. My mom's sister for as long as I can remember has been thin, works out daily, very conscious of how she looks. My mom to me is thin, about 140 pounds on a 5'6" frame, she looks great (although she might not always agree)!! But, since my mom is technically "bigger" than my aunt, my mom has gotten a lot of comments over the years from her. It's sad really, because my mom is very active and she looks amazing - I tell her that ever time I see her!

Anyways...we were having Christmas at my grandma's house and my aunt came up to me and said "Gee, Linds, you look like you've lost some weight. You're starting to look pretty good." There was a pause...and I said jokingly "What are you trying to say?" (I apparently didn't look so good before?!) She had no words, and walked off. I'm not sure if she intentionally meant to say it that way as a jab, but with her past behavior one might think so. I got a lot of comments while I was on vacation, at that time I was down about 21-22 pounds. Ever time I saw my MIL she would tell me "Gosh, you look so tiny and thin." It was nice at first that my family noticed, but then when we would go out to eat she made comments that made me feel weird. For example, we went to breakfast and I ordered a spinach egg beater omelet with low fat cheese and fruit for the side. She ordered steak and onions and home fries. When my food came she was like "That's why you're so thin! Look what you eat!" It was just weird, I felt like I was being in a way criticized for eating healthy. She continued to make comments while we ate to my DH "well no wonder I'm fat, I should be eating what she's eating." Anyways...it was weird. Then I had family that never said ANYTHING to me about it. Like they didn't notice anything different about the way I looked, ate, anything.

Sorry, that was long.

Good Morning Wonderful People!!!!!! :grouphug:

I don't have time for personals except for a couple that stuck out.

Diana: Basing your personals on the new thread will never be considered cheating. :)

Linds: Awesome workout last night. Rest, rest, rest today. What time is the race tomorrow?

I'm up .8 today. Didn't get to run yesterday. I had to shovel the layer of ice and snow on my sidewalk that I've been ignoring for days. And I am sore from it today. My arms and shoulders feel really fatigued today. I also did something to my neck and when I look to the left, it HURTS. And my back hurts...probably from shoveling too. MY GOODNESS!!! I am a mess today!!! LOL

I won't be going to the gym today either. Not with my neck feeling the way it does and I have dinner plans with a friend and her DS anyway. I'm definitely achey this morning, so that's what I'm attributing my gain to. :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful morning. I'll try to check back at lunch time.

Linds, I feel you on this. What that says to me is that you were kind of like a mirror to her. She knows full well that she shouldn't be eating all of that stuff. She sees you following through with your plans and it makes HER uncomfortable because she was all of sudden faced with look at herself and her own behaviors.

I have begun to run into this myself. Right now, my family says absolutely NOTHING about my weight loss. That comes from me having a very heated conversation with my father. He always used to "try" and help by mentioning that he feels that I had gained a few pounds. He's done that most of my adult life because I've been overweight since I was 13. One day, I just couldn't take it anymore and I let him have it. I told him that it really hurt my feelings when he would say things like that. There was more said, but you get my point. From that moment on, my weight has never been mentioned again. Me gaining or me losing. That works for my parents.

Anywho, my impression of her was that she suddenly became SUPER insecure around you. Don't let it bother you. Just let it roll off. She wants you to feel awkward because your very obvious successes are making HER feel awkward. Try not to let it get to you. This is something "new" that we all have to deal with as we succeed on our journeys.

Scales today said 155lbs even. Water weight? It has to be... Anyway...

I made SUCH a yummy breakfast today that I had to share!!

I made a low-cal omelet, using 10 small asparagus spears, 1 serving of deli turkey (low sodium), 1 slice of cheese, 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg. I topped it with 2t of spicy Thai sweet chili sauce. Total 272 calories and 25g protein. :carrot: It was half the size of my plate! :o

I've got a busy, busy day ahead of me. I have a baby shower cake and chocolates to make, a house to clean and plans to make. I totally didn't realize my daughter's 3rd birthday was so close!! :o She wants a pink, Dora, Fancy birthday party. LOL!! Oh, and she found some fabric in my fabric drawer that she has been BEGGING me to make a dress out of. It's yellow with cupcakes all over it. By the time my own birthday rolls around next month, I'm going to be all partied-out. LOL

Sum Ack! You are suppose to talk me out of them! ;) I think I like the way they look on me, too. :D

I was just jeans shopping yesterday and my blog is a HUGE rant about jeans, or my experience with trying them on and today's fashions. Then this morning a friend of mine mentioned them as they were talked about on some morning show as the jean for women who like and look better in a higher rise jean. And you are at or near goal now, so spending the $ on them makes more sense. If you want to be COMPLETELY sensible, wait a few months for the body to settle into it's new maintenance weight and then get the best gosh darn wardrobe that makes you feel HOT! You've earned it!

I agree with all of you, I absolutely hate comments like "oh wow, you have lost a LOT of weight haven't you?", or "How much weight have you lost?". First, I never tell anyone except DH and DSs that I am dieting or working out harder, so no one knows until it shows. Some people are just so rude and inquisitive, it makes me uncomfortable. Maybe I don't tell anyone in case I fail? And then I think, man, I must have been realllllly fat if they are already noticing I've lost weight.
Now on the other hand, if people are noticing, it is very validating that you are on the right track, so it does make you feel good in a way, it is just uncomfortable to be talking to people about something so personal.
Thats my 2 cents.
Good news, sort of. I am no longer 209!!!!!!!!! My scale shows 208 this morning, so lets hope it sticks and I can see 207ish soon to be back to my ticker weight :dizzy: I don't think I will show a loss for this week (first one since I started, sniff, sniff), but really, I have lost this week, unfortunately I gained this week too :dizzy:. Ok, that was confusing.

Started my 6 week weight training program today. It felt great. No cardio today.
Have to go get application for passport today for our April vacation to Costa Rica and then right after school, we leave to go to a Pistons vs. Heat game. Should be fun, but not sure how eating will go. I plan to eat at 3:00 before we pick up the kids, but I will be hungry before we get home. Not very good choices in a stadium.
Diana 3271, buy the jeans! You deserve to look good in your jeans. That is an interesting name, where do you buy them? (for future reference of course)
Belly, so close to Onderland! Cheering you on :cheer:
Shells, a cheer for you too, you are right there too :cheer:
Sum, I really wasn't very hungry through the month of Jan., but last week or two I have been getting hungrier. I think I have been eating more carbs than initially. If I am careful with carbs, I don't have much of an appetite. I just use the non hungry days to stay on the lower end of my calories, and like Shells, some days I have to have an extra snack or serving of dinner just to get to my calories. Other days, I eat most of my calories early and only have like 300 for dinner! I'd rather not be hungry.
Larry, good job this week!
Stacee, you sure inspire me everyday!
Vixsin rest that neck! Motrin and heat will help
Lindsey, good luck with your race tomorrow! Are you carb loading today?
Juicy, feel better, good eating plan yesterday!
LL, I think one shot mixed drinks (no sugary mix ins) are 100 calories avg. I looked up rum and diet coke before my DH went to his national meeting. He ended up drinking light beer though for a few more calories (okay a lot more by time you drink several of them ;)). We also looked at the new low calorie beers, but they have half the alcohol too so it would be good if you don't really want to get drunk, but if you're trying for a buzz, you'd have to drink twice as many and I am sure they cost the same as the reg. beer! HTH
Anyone I missed, HI
I LOVE hearing about everyones losses and NSVs!

Changed my weight as it was still down this morning, so I'll accept it as real, even though it was point six higher than yesterday. How did it go from 245 on the nose to 243.0 the next day and 243.6 the day after that. I didn't have one day at 244, but I'll count it as 244 until it's 243.0 or a few tenths lower.

I got my heart rate monitor and used it for the first time yesterday. Boy, have they come a long way since the one I bought in 1999! I decided to get a fitness watch with heart rate monitor because once the weather is better, I'll go outside and walk. We live in a planned community with trails everywhere and I want to know WHERE I'm going and how far!

My work out was great and my heart rate stayed in the target zones for 55 minutes, the remaining 11 were warm up/cool down.

I went jeans shopping yesterday. What an experience! First NOTHING at marshalls. Low rise and flared bottoms are SO not flattering on my frame. I did pick up two pairs of jeans at goodwill that are in great shape. One Liz Claiborne and one LLBean. Now I can have clothes that don't swim on me (My jeans were too lose before I started dropping lbs). Then I saw a pair of size 14 Lily Pulitzer jeans and they are so cute. I can get them on over my hips, so I figure by late spring they should fit (seem to be more in line with a 16 than a standard 14) and since they are a lightweight jean looking fabric, it will be perfect for the season. They were still new with tags for $4.75, so I couldn't pass them up! $27 for 3 pants and 5 books. Goodwill is NOT the way it used to be, new with tags stuff, clean and full of ordinary folks looking for bargains. For my inbetween sizes, Goodwill will be my store of choice!

Now for personals:

Diana - I already responded about the jeans, but wanted to add - find the size you like and look for deals too. I never pay full price for anything. Of course, with their recent promo on a morning show, they're probably trending HOT, but a sale will come sooner or later. OR treat yourself as you deserve it!

Sum - I'm sorry about your daughter, but maybe a little scare woke her up too. She's old enough to start thinking about her own health too! And about not being so hungry - part of it is probably worry about your daughter too, don't you think? And yes, I'm less hungry now that before. Strange really!

Shells - you are doing so fantastically! And those compliments are well earned.

Stacygee- Same for you! You HAVE earned those compliments! Just because you aren't finished yet, doesn't mean you aren't looking great and probably exuding more confidence too!

Pint Sized Terror - keep up the effort. Sometimes weight is stubborn. I was stuck at 250-251 for nearly two weeks, and then the Whoosh! And the last two weeks I've lost 6! it will come. I promise!

LindseyLou - good for you for researching lunch options before going out. Planning is so important. Any news on the vet stuff yet?

LLBold - you are working HARD! Good for you!

Vixsin - sorry that you are so sore and achy, but that chopping ice and snow was burning more calories than the work outs you do, I'm sure! Hope the neck feels better tomorrow.

Larry - Great eating plan and I do the same with potlucks, but it has more to do with being picky about other people's foods.

Today i'm feeling MUCH better. Just cant get rid of this cough. I weighed in today and I was a little disappointed at the fact that i gained .8 pounds. I know its not a lot, but after losing 5 last week I was hoping for me. I know its because I havent exercised since tuesday and I've been eating a lot of soup, which has a lot of sodium. Im definitely heading to the gym tonight! Cant wait to get back on track!

Vixsin – The 5k is at 10am. I’m nervous! I think you may be right about the comments. It was just so weird because I kind of felt “out of the crowd” when I would turn down cookies at her house and my choices when we ate out. Oh well…I wonder if that has anything to do with why she hasn’t returned my calls since we came back home...?

Pint – Congrats on 155! :yay: That omelet sounds so yummy!

Jomatho – Thank you! I’m not too worried about “racing” but I would like to beat 34:29 which is my most recent time for a 5k. I’m eating a decent amount of carbs today, oatmeal for breakfast, some protein at lunch (chicken) and potatoes and mixed veggies (carbs). Tonight I’m having a grilled chicken salad with fruit.

Berry – Sounds like you got great deals! I really need to go buy some new clothes. My jeans are getting too loose and I have pants that literally fall off. My shirts look too big on me. I really want to get to 139 before I buy anything though…maybe I can find some deals like you did! ;) I have to plan my meals. One time I went out without planning and guessed on some calories (turkey burger) and it was WAY more than I ever thought it could ever be…from then on I plan. I will be calling the vet in a couple hours, they told me to call in the afternoon and get the results :crossed:

*Runners:* Any suggestions as to what I should eat tomorrow before the 5k? I was planning on two packets of strawberry oatmeal made with milk. What would be the best thing to eat to give me energy? Carbs? Throw in some protein?
____________________
Hey ladies!

Here is my plan for today...

B- Strawberry oatmeal w/milk 180, banana 100 (280)
L- LC meal (chicken, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, caramel apple crisp) 340
D- Caribbean Salad w/Grilled chicken (Chili's) 610
1230

Next week I'm starting my high protein, low carb, high fiber diet. It's around 90-100g of protein per day, 70-80g net carbs, and 30-40g of fiber per day, and around 1200 calories. I'm going to take a break from running and focus on toning. I'll be doing weight training 3 times per week, and plan to do Pilates 2 days per week with 2 rest days. I have my menu planned out and everything. DH is even going to do the meal plan, just with more calories.

What would you recommend I eat at lunch from this menu? I don't like seafood...other than that, I'm not too picky.

oooo get the capri torrados... its portabello wrapped in spinach with guacamole and provolone! yum. and if i was going there id get that without cheese and itd be vegan :)

Lindsey, I think eating light is the way to go, and not too close to race time. Your body is used to oatmeal, so go for it. Not sure about the protien, not sure you need it for energy, but it will slow your digestion (protien and fat), so if you like to have an empty stomach, avoid it. Good luck and have fun!

As much as it pains me to come and confess this, I SERIOUSLY BOMBED last night. Okay, semi-seriously. Went out for supper (I have come down with the flu and was really sneezy and such yesterday so I told hubby after we got off work that I was NOT cooking...I want comfort food when I'm coming down with something...) So we go to a catfish restaurant. I did good in ordering grilled catfish, BUT I ALSO HAD baked potato (w/a little butter), salad with FULL FAT RANCH (not just a little), bean soup and probably 5 or 6 hushpuppies (GREASY ONES!!). The rest of the day was fine and totally on track and this morning I'm only up about .4 lbs. I feel like I'm gonna throw up today and have absolutely NO appetite, therefore I haven't eaten yet today. If my appetite doesn't show up, I may just not eat much of anything. I'm so utterly disgusted with myself. I know it wasn't the worst bomb I could've had....but I'm wondering why I even did such a thing. I really think I just wanted some kind of comfort in coming down with this mess I have. I even thought on the way to the restaurant, "I'm getting sick. Screw the diet! I don't feel like caring right now because I don't feel good!" Yesterday ended up being a terribly stressful day, too, which I'm sure played in to it. Soooo, I am getting up, dusting myself off and climbing back in the saddle. It's a new day!

Larry, I am VERY proud of the way you handled your potluck!!! I wish I had had some of your strength yesterday! :D

Diana, I think when we make our goals we should definitely treat ourselves! You DESERVE those jeans as much as anyone I know! I hope you do this nice thing for yourself! I just told my husband yesterday that when I reach my ideal body weight (IF I EVER GET THERE! LOL) that my gift to myself is going to be having any residual "loose skin" surgically removed. It'll be expensive, I know. I don't even know if insurance will pay for it. BUT I will have earned doing something nice for myself! :) I really hope you do this for yourself! Especially if you're not planning on losing very much more weight. Someone said if you plan to lose much more, then wait til then. I agree. But I certainly encourage you to do it! :) Thanks for being such an inspiration to all of us. If I were closer to you, I'd go buy them for you and surprise you with them just as a thanks for your encouragement and commitment to us.

I'm missing Tina (Ladylai). Haven't seen here around here in a while. Anyone know if she's here and just posting somewhere else? As long as she's here and committed, that's the important thing.

Stacygee, I think my father in law thinks that the last time I dieted, he made me quit because he remarked to me shortly before I went off plan that time that if I lost anymore weight, I was gonna blow away. I love the compliments....they haven't started for me this time yet (only have lost 16 lbs this time) but I'm looking forward to them. Of course, I've never experienced those comments after having lost as much weight as you have. I'm sure, from what you've said, that it would make me as uncomfortable as it has you. Hang in there and be PROUD of what you've done! Don't let anyone make you feel bad about it. It's a good thing we're doing! :)

Sum, glad your daughter has found out where her troubles are coming from. Sounds like a pretty easy fix. Glad she's gonna be okay. :)

Well folks, I was supposed to be at work around 9-ish, but because I didn't sleep much last night and I feel so rotten, I'm going in late....I need to get there before the day is completely over, though. Still have to do payroll for all our guys. Have a great, on target day everyone!!!

New NSV: I was getting ready for the day and wasn't looking forward to putting on my jeans due to the fact they are getting really loose, so I decided to try on a pair from my "grow into pile", or in my case my "shrink into pile" and they fit!! I just tried these jeans on about 5 pounds ago and they were a little too snug. I am so excited. So to heck with the scale, the jeans were much more exciting! :carrot:

Hey guys.... I got dragged to a breakfast place with my girlfriends and had a stack of pancakes :-( so today is definitely going to be a cheat day. Kind of beating myself up about it. I put on jeans on that have been fitting, and today they were just too loose. So I dipped into my size 8 pile!

I am still between sizes, 10's are big, but 8's are snug...another 3 pounds and they will bit pretty good.

I'd do your oatmeal and throw a little protein in there like a string cheese or something small. Eat atleast 45 mins - hour before race time so that you wont feel too full and will feel good to run. Eat protein after your run.

Hi ALL! Sorry I don't have time for personals today. I am so happy it's Friday! I wish TOM would just get here already. Today I didn't have so much restraint. I think I will probably go over on points a little today. Just so I'm accountable, here is what I had to eat so far today:

Egg White on English Muffin with Ketchup
Two Cups of Coffee with half and half and splenda
Vitatop Banana Nut Muffin
Flat bread and 2T Guacamole
Salad
3 Sweet Potato Fries
14 Seaweed Rice Crackers

Looking at it now seems like I'm overreacting but I feel like a HOOVER! And I don't think I'm done yet.

On the bright side, and least I'm washing it all down with a TON of water!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Lindsey: Isn’t family funny??… I have a sister in law that I think hates me b/c I ‘ve lost weight. I am smaller then her now and she is pregnant. Makes me giggle though b/c she has always been one to try to sabotage me. :p Thanks for the support… I do deserve the compliments. I just don’t want to give up now that it is getting to be more of a struggle with every pound. I think you are supposed to carb up the day before a race. Not sure. My first 5K is April 10... Tell me what I need to know! What is the eating program you start next week? How did you come up with those numbers?

Vixsin: Sorry you are so sore! I can’t imagine having to spend any length of time outside. I can’t stand the cold! :shocksn: My car is a terrible mess inside b/c I can’t clean things out b/c I am too cold! I think losing some of my fat made me lose some insulation b/c I can’t remember being this miserably cold! Hmmmm- not sure about your parent… does it hurt you feelings that they don’t acknowledge your weight loss? I have a hard time talking about it to my mom. She is a size 0 and looks hot in a bikini at age 66. She doesn’t understand… but she is supportive and just tells me how pretty I look.

Pint: I have a 6 year old dinosaur party to plan… My daughter is March 10 and I am March 9. Mine is mostly forgotten these day!

Jomatho: I really don’t hate the comments about losing weight. I haven’t even thought to differentiate between “you look good” and “you’ve lost a lot of weight.” I am proud of what I have done. I just still have a long way to go. Pretty much everyone knows that I am working on it. My food and my workouts take so much time that I can’t imagine those around me not knowing! The losing weight seems to get harder at some points. Stick with it! You know when you start lifting weights the scale won’t move down as quickly too. :strong:Don’t let that surprise you or discourage you. Lifting weights is the right thing to do. We went to Costa Rica the past two summers in a row. LOVE IT! Have you been before? Where are you going? CONGRATULATIONS about the jeans! I totally know how good that feels. I am still waiting for my next size down (my belly is in the way). GREAT for YOU though!

Berry: That’s the WHOOSH… when you lose a couple pounds all at once. Don’t really know why it happens- but sure do like it when it does! :cp:

MzJuicyD: Glad you are feeling better. :dz: The cold got my husband and it is trying to get me but I am still fighting it. I had a bit of a sore throat when I woke up- but gargled and haven’t been bothered since. Hope your gym workout went well!

DianaLA: Remember we all BOMB :bomb: every so often… the important thing is to get right back to your program! You had grilled catfish! Look at the positive! I would have opted for FRIED SHRIMP! That was funny about your father in law! Thats how I feel I am going to be. Someone compliment me and then I STOP! But don’t get me wrong. I love the attention and compliments. I also love that my workout pants feel like they’re falling down when I am bouncing on the elliptical!

LLBold: It is good to have friends even if it means breaking your diet sometimes… try to get right back to you program and enjoy friend time! :grouphug:

Novel: Seaweed Rice Crackers… Seriously??? :barf: LOL!! I would want to slather that with guacomole!

Raine – Thanks for the idea/recommendation!

Jomatho – I think you’re right about eating before the race.

Vixsin – I’m going to have bring a little snack with me in the truck. We have to drive about 45 minutes to the 5k so I’ll eat a snack on the way. Good thinking!

Stacy – Yep, family is funny like that. I don’t know if that is the way they mean it, but it sure does come off that way! Let ‘em hate! ;) The eating program I’m starting is something I came up with by researching recipes and getting ideas off low carb sites. Gosh, it took me a LONG time to come up with those numbers, just kind of guessing at it now. I had to put all that in fitday to see if I was getting enough carbs/protein, calories, etc. From what I read I think that is a good number to shoot for (about 100g protein, and less than 80g net carbs). I’m going to be eating mostly non processed foods except for some PB here and there and the occasional treat (sugar free, fat free pudding).

Still waiting to hear from the vet...:halfempty

I've had less than half my calories today and it's 4:30 pm I think this flu stuff is effecting my appetite....or maybe I haven't recovered from my splurge last night? At any rate, I got on the scales a minute ago. I'm right back where I was, so hopefully it didn't spoil anything. It may say something completely different in the morning, though. :( All I've had today is a healthy choice cafe creation (260 cal) and a pkg of cheese crackers (180 cal) and a diet coke. Going under target today is going to be purposeful and easy. I'm hoping it'll make up for the splurge. (If you can't tell, I'm still beating myself up over it. lol) stacygee thanks for your encouraging words. I seriously needed to hear them today. I got to work today and had a mini-meltdown (with crying! ). I had about 4 people in my office telling me it was all going to be okay. Keep in mind that I'm NOT a drama queen...period. It was rather humiliating. Again, thanks for the encouragement. It is MUCH appreciated.

I'm going to lay down. This flu is kickin' my butt!! I'll bbl. :)

Just a little note about something I'm noticing about my behavior. Now that I'm taking better care of the 'inside me', eating better, exercising and dropping weight, I'm taking better care of the outside me more too! I wash my hair more often, I am picking out clothes that are more flattering when I go out of the house and because I feel better about myself, I am standing taller and prouder.

The funny thing is, I'm still obese. Twenty years ago I would have been so depressed to have gotten "this high". Now, I feel so much thinner! Look how the mind plays such tricks!

Hey everyone! Just checking in quickly. I have been running errands all day, including my little boy's awards ceremony at school (:carrot:) and I still haven't even started on the cakes. Ugh.

So I ended up not eating again until dinner, and I ate a really lousy dinner too. However, I'm actually below my minimum number of calories. Oops.

B: Omelet

L: None. :o

D: Order of onion rings, 1 shrimp po'boy from Popeye's Chicken, 1 side-size of mashed potatoes and gravy.

Total for the day was 1101 calories. Since most of that was fried food, I'm not celebrating any victories. I'm very unhappy that I didn't really do any good eating today, besides my omelet. I'm so stuffed from dinner that I can't even fathom another bite of ANYTHING, healthy or not. :p

Lindsey: I was curious b/c I ave been doing a lot of thinking about this. This week I have been trying to get 140g of protein as per my trainer. I am thinking that is too much for me as I haven't lost this week. I try to keep my net carbs about 100. Recomended Daily allowances are: 49g of fat (I am always over that), 223g of carbs (I am always about half that), 19g of fiber (over that), 38g of protein (WAY OVER that!). I use livestrong.com now to figure it. I found that more of the calorie information seemed more accurate then fitday. Keep us posted how it goes!

DianaLA: Glad I could be there for you. We are all in this together. I am glad you had some supportive people at work too. XOXOXO

Berryblonde: I have SO NOTICED the same thing. I have started fixing my hair more and putting full makeup on. I have gotten very particular oabout my clothing. I used to NEVER wearmakeup and just put my hair in a ponytail! I feel like I am finding who I want to be... I was hiding before.

Pint: At least you can't fathom eating. I have thinking about dinner ever since about an hour after lunch! Only one more hour and I get DINNER. YAH!

Hola ladies and happy weekend :carrot:.
Pretty decent day after all, so quick check-in:
B- 2 slices of bread with cream cheese and honey, 1/2 cup of coffee with skim milk
S - Latte
L - 4tbs of quinoa with 1/2 chicken breast, lemon juice and Tabasco sauce, an apple for dessert
D - 2 small pita pockets stuffed with lettuce, tomato, tzaziki and pork gyros (pre-marinated, so I'm sure it was fatty )

On to some personals:
munchie - Welcome back . Looking forward to seeing you back.

Pint - good luck with the cakes!

berryblonde - How great for you. I'm noticing some of the same things, especially what you said about standing taller. I just notice I walk with more confidence and wear things that a few months ago I would have considered "unflattering", even though I'm sure they don't look much better now

Gaining - Feel better soon!

novelista - Don't beat yourself up. TOM is a ***** sometimes ;)

sum and jomahto - Woohoo for your NSVs! That's great news - keep up the good work :carrot:

Diana - Hi there

Everyone else - stay strong ladies (and gentleman ;))

Stacy - 140g seems like A LOT. I'll let you know how my plan goes. Maybe mix it up and try lower protein one week and see what happens..? I'll keep you posted though! I'm hoping it will help me get to goal and get toned! ;)

VET UPDATE: DP's mass was actually drained for the specimen and hasn't gotten bigger. The lab said the fluid was mostly inflammatory cells, indicating a mammary cyst, but they did find a couple suspicious cells they believe might be carcinoma cells. Unsure of what to do at this point...? She will probably have it removed. Poor baby... :(

Hi Everyone I took DH with me to try on the jeans again tonight. DH really liked them and thought they are worth the price. I am going to wait until I get to goal and analyze from there. I liked the size 12 but the SA thought I should get the 10's. :dunno:

Sum I'm glad you got a diagnosis with your DD. Hee Hee about your DH noticing your weight loss.

Vixsin I hope your neck is better tomorrow.

Pint Your omelet sounded awesome! I love omelets. Your calories are good. Just keep trying.

Jomatho Congrats on the 208! Locally, I can buy them at Dillard's. Here a link to their site: http://nydj.com/ Yay on the NSV with the jeans!

Berry I always buy things on sale or use coupons. I asked the SA today and she said they don't put them on sale. :( It's funny you mentioned about fixing yourself up more. I am experimenting more now with makeup colors. I am really having fun with it. Great job on feeling better about yourself.

MzJuicyD I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. The .8 is probably just a daily fluctuation or from the sodium in your soup.

Diana(LA) Thanks for the support about the jeans. About last night. Today is a new day. Pick yourself up and keep on truckin'. I hope you feel better by tomorrow.

Cincimini Great job staying on plan. Hi

Lindsey What did the Vet recommend? A lot of times I will ask the Vet, what would they do if it were their pet. I think the news could have been a lot worse. So I would see it in a positive light. There's still a chance it's not cancer since they used the term "might".

140 is too much. too much protein is harder on teh liver. Having more fat (especially plant fat) is much easier on the body than protein and that is where to bulk of your diet should come - not so much animal fats, but PLANT fats - olive oil, avocado, nuts, etc.

I've been eating pretty similarly for carbs. Typically I eat 50% fat and 28% carbs and 22% protein and I feel great. I'm eating about 1500-1800 calories a day and exercising an hour a day. I'm truly not hungry, my complexion is better than it has ever been and I don't crave sweets AT ALL. Oh, and I typically get 30-35 grams of fiber a day.

I have been in meetings all day and had to eat out breakfast and dinner.

I stayed within my calorie goal despite eating out 1341 for today. :D:carrot:

Dinner was breaded and fried haddock it was a bad choice. Even though I stayed within my calorie goal for the day I have been eating low fat for so long that this fried haddock really had a gross after taste. The fish and oil was ok but my taste buds sure have changed for the better.

No chance to exercise today but I will be free tommorrow and the weather is supposed to be cool but sunny.

Starving this morning, but hopped on that scale and I think my love affair with the scale is continuing - another drop of .8. So, with that showing twice now as at or under 243 (242.8 today), I'm counting it as officially down to 243. Woohoo!

Exercise was good too! I look at how I was huffing and puffing walking across a parking lot in December (my bp was sky high AND my thyroid was way low) and where I am now, and I'm floored actually!

And, even better news, my BP was down to 105/65. if it's low again today, I'm getting my bp meds lowered. It could be because my thyroid is beginning to normalize, could be the weight loss. Could be the healthier diet. Could be the exercise, but most likely it's a combo of all of the above. My health is why I started this, so this is the best motivation EVER to keep doing what I'm doing!

Have a great day everyone!

Berry I'm hypothyroid! Are you?

Yes, I am. On December 8th the number was 43. On January 11th it was 15. It's getting tested again at the end of February.

One thing I'm concerned about is the lab says anything over 5 is too low. Everything I'm reading and new standards is anything over 3 is too low and around 1 is optimal. What does your doc say/do? I'm not sure what my doctor will be happy with but I will fight to get it where it should be. I'll check to see how the blood sugars are doing mid April (he thinks those are also messed up by my thyroid, but in which way is it affecting the thyroid? First reading was 134, after one month on thyroid medicine it was 209 and by then I had already started to cut back on carbs (but only for a week).

Berry Who is treating you for hypothyroidism? A GP or Endo? I was diagnosed about 17 years ago by a GP. I was up to 356+ pounds. I went on meds and started losing. I was in a car wreck years later and couldn't workout. I slowly started gaining again. The GP never changed my meds. I eventually started working out again and watching what I was eating (not counting calories). I couldn't lose weight. I decided to go to an Endo. She said my #'s were too high even though my GP was OK with them. I take it she likes the lower #'s. After she changed my meds I was able to start losing again. I think GP's take a more conservative approach. I think the Endo's are more familiar how to tweak the meds to make you feel your best. At one time, my Endo had me taking a certain dosage M-F and a totally different dosage on Sat/Sun. The GP would never work with me like that.

Diana3271: I can’t wait for you to share a pic of you in those jeans. My sister just bought that Not your Daughters Jeans brand and she loves them. Congrats on your new low this morning!:spin:

BerryBlonde: I think the 140 is too much too. I have concentrated on getting there so much and I am very frustrated that I didn’t lose 1 pound this week. Today I am going to work on a meal plan for this week. I am going to cycle my calories and have a couple of high protein days but not over 100 I think. I am disappointed I didn’t lose this week and felt like I worked hard to do the right thing. Maybe I’ll just go back to my salads. Congrats on the drop on the scale!! :flow1: Isn’t it amazing how losing weight affects so much. I got to discontinue allergy meds. Who knew allergies and weight were connected. I also discontinued thyroid meds!

Larry: I think if is a huge accomplishment to eat out twice and still stay in your calorie range. Kudos to you! :cp:

Andejean: Glad you had fun and good to see you check in! Get that homework done!!! :drill:

M1708: Welcome! Feel free to share. We are here to support one another!

Sum38: Glad you’re here. I’ll be checking in periodically throughout the day! I have nosy MIL too. Once she even pulled some of my mail out of the trash!

MzJuicy: I am still fighting that sickness, but my husband is on day 2 in bed. Hope you can get better!

DianaLa: Don’t get discouraged… make a plan. That is what I am doing. I feel like we are in an all out war and this week we must have lost a battle… but we have to regroup and try again. I am devising my exercise plan and food plan for the coming week. WE CAN MAKE THAT SCALE MOVE DOWN!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was 194 today. I went to a great spin class already today and really enjoyed it. I have to fight this plateau. I am going to work really hard on my meal plan for this week and I am going to double up my exercise for this week. I usually rest on Sunday but I will either go to the gym or walk/job my neighborhood (weather permitting). On Monday I will do my regular spin class and strength training- but go back in the PM for either elliptical or treadmill. I’ll double up on Wednesday, too. It is easy for me to double up on Mondays and Wednesday b/c my daugheter has dance and it is right next to the gym. Instead of sitting and waiting I can go get a quick 45-50 minutes extra cardio. There’s the excxdercise plan… I’ll have to sign off while I devise the food plan!

Stacygee - if you discontinued your thyroid meds, how can you be sure your thyroid is doing OK? My understanding is that it's a lifelong thing (though I know someone else who dropped it and feels fine, but her numbers have crept up. They are now at 11.

Diana - I don't think the underactive thyroid kept me from losing weight. I was just eating too much and no wonder my blood sugars were whacky. I ate so many carbs and most of them EMPTY carbs. What I've done to this poor body! I'm very curious to see the next reading for the thyroid test. Though, not excited about getting a blood draw. They had to stick me 5 times and dig with four of them to finally find a vein to work.

Sum - have fun on your trips and I hope everyone is feeling better! I have a nosy mother in law too, but I LIVE with her. She doesn't snoop through our stuff (sometimes Sven's medical stuff because she justifies it as 'he's my son and I should know') but with our personal lives, too much so. Like, she came downstairs to watch what I was exercising yesterday. Does ANYONE like to be watched? And your mother in law who has always been super critical of my weight? Ugh!!!

Larry - seems you really have a hang of how to eat appropriately in all situations! Good for you! You're on a roll!

LosingWeightinLA - it is hard when you are sick to a. make good decisions and b. lose weight. Just remember to take it one day at a time and stop beating yourself up. Also, if you are finding it hard to stay at 1185 calories in a day, then don't! Eat 1200, 1300 and you'll still end up ahead of eating 1180 one day and going way over the next by eating empty calories. So, maybe you're body is better able to do this at 1.5 lbs a week versus 2 pounds a week - it's still coming down and maybe it would stress you out less? Especially during this stressful time you're having. Jut a thought.

MZJuicy - I hope you feel better. Even the idea of walking to work when I feel sick makes me tired. Remember, one day at a time and you won't be sick forever!

stacygee and berry ... funny how life is. I have a million and one funny (irritating on TTOM days) MIL stories. She irks me at times, but I am trying to understand she loves the grandkids, and has hard time letting go of her son. -- I am usually pretty good, but I do get my moments and I complain. My MIL wants to be included to EVERYTHING, and she sulks if we don't. We have to be really quiet if we wish to have dinner out, and sometimes she finds out from the kids and then she shows up. -- She was livid at me for months that I would not let her be part of my girl's lunch out. Pick your battles they say. That was one I stood firm. -- We see my inlaws atleast 6 days per week. I find her in my house, cleaning, gardening. 3 weeks of the months I take it as it comes, TTOM weeks, not so well. You will learn that, because that is when I want to strangle her...lol

I am trying to eat today. I made BIG breakfast for the kids, and I logged in 400 calories. I still have no appetite.

I am wearing some great jeans I bought years ago. I feel sexy! -- Girlfriends and I will have dinner. We are going to Toby Keith's. I may even ride that bull...o'la'la

I love her, but have to take her in small doses. She lives very near us, but we go months without seeing her.

So far, I've had 517 calories, have 661 left for the day....and I have the munchies AND the lazies (this crud I have has made me feel so weak! My legs feel like Jello) I don't want to use being weak as an excuse to eat, though. I keep telling myself if I try high protein stuff, maybe it'll help me get better quicker.....suggestions? Should I eat more while I'm sick? Makes me sad to think of doing that....lol

WOW! I have a lot of catching up to do, this thread moves so fast...just a quick post.

The 5k was this morning! DH finished in 25:05 and I finished in 34:26 (beating my latest time by 3 seconds). There was someone who finished in 15:05!! Holy cow! DH ranked 125, and I was 542  I believe there was approx. 1300 runners.

Advice for future runners!!
1) Know your route and prepare yourself. I was unaware that this would be up hill (like Tennessee, really up hill)...so that slowed me down a bit I think. I wasn't used to that much incline.
2) Don't wear a sweatshirt (you will be burning up!) It was about 35-40 degrees out and I figured I'd need one...nooo way. Let's just say it's very tricky trying to get your sweatshirt off mid-race without stopping (but it's possible ;)).
3) Run a longer distance when preparing than what you plan to run on race day. For example, if you were to run a 5k (3.1 miles), run at least 4 at a good pace. I think that would have made that last mile a lot easier for me.

The first 2 miles were a breeze, some hills, but I was at a great pace. The last mile was killer, a huge hill and then smaller hills. The last mile seemed way longer than a mile to me! DH finished way before me so he took pics as I ran by, I thought I'd share.

The first one is rather funny, I got excited thinking I was nearing the finish line (and DH caught that on camera). My excitement was short lived once I realized I had another 1/2 mile or so to go. The second is me (in white) finishing! :D

On a different note, does anyone have tips on eating healthy on a budget? What am I doing wrong?

Good gosh, we went to by groceries for ONE week and spent $140 for two people! That seems extremely high...well, we usually spend about $80 for DH and I for one week. Ughhhh...

This is what I bought: chicken (not even boneless, so I could debone it to save $), cottage cheese, yogurt, milk, egg beaters, lunch meat (roast beef & ham), carrots, broccoli, romaine lettuce (lots of it!), fresh strawberries & apples, frozen blueberries & mixed berries. Doesn't seem like expensive stuff? I didn't think so until I checked out! If any of that was on sale, I got the generic on sale brand. Everything indeed WAS on sale minus the frozen fruit ($14!).

Maybe no high protein, low carb diet for me... :?:

Ladies, what is your opinion on getting toned without the extra protein?? I mean if I do what I've been doing do you think the extra protein will have that much more effect on me getting toned? I guess what I'm asking is, do you think I can still get toned without the high protein diet?

Geesh! I can barely keep up with all of you! I heave a bad attitude today. Got on the scales and saw an extra 2lbs. Frustrating especially since I haven't done a bad job with eating...a little extra snacking but nothing that far out of my WW points...and I did exercise all week. Just want to see result for the hard work. I can tell that things are fitting better and I don't have near the spillage over the top of my jeans...and that will certainly motivate me to continue on this journey. But today I just decided to throw a temper tantrum of sorts. No real bad eating choices, but I didn't plan my menu or count my points. Part of it, I think, is PMS. (Sorry Larry! Im sure you really don't want to read about this!) I believe that menopause has started so I get the PMS without the MS! I am hoping that the extra poundage is just the normal weight gain that I would normally get....who knows though. Ugh! Plus I have a headache that is doing its best to turn into a migraine. Ugh! Ugh!

Boy I am whiney today!

Lindsey~ great job. My DD started running last summer. I was thinking that if I dropped a few lbs I might try it out this summer. You inspire me!

I need to get a few more things done so I can try and sleep off this headache. Will try and catch up on posts tomorrow! Hope everyone is well!

Lindsey- I think you can get toned without high protein. What do vegetarians do? Don't you think in the end it is in the exercise you do for getting toned? I am in the middle of a very long low calorie diet to lose a significant amount of weight. It is important to surprise my body with the differing protein, carb and fat levels to keep it guessing so I don't plateau. For you- you are no where near needing to lose the amount I do... if any. I think for getting toned it'll all be about the exercise. Just my opinion. I am not a doctor or trainer or anything like that... just a girl on a diet.

Eeesh. I don't have time for personals. Today was long and pretty brutal. I got no consecutive sleep for longer than an hour last night. It was like clockwork, SOMEONE was waking me up, either the dogs, the children, the husband... UGH. I was literally up every HOUR, nearly on the friggin HOUR. I was furious and in a very bad mood until I was finally at the baby shower and could finally sit down.

The baby shower went well. I had a lot of compliments on my cake, even though I was less than thrilled with how it looked. It looked nice, but I could see flaws in the fondant and with some of the icing work and it bugged the crap out of me. Either way, it was delicious. I took a regular white cake, substituted very ripe bananas (frozen, then defrosted) for eggs, then added about 1/3 cup of 99 Bananas liquor and some other things to make it yummy. I used a chocolate cake batter and alternated that with the white batter to make zebra stripes. It WAS good. Very good, actually!

I don't know how many calories I had today. In the morning I had 6-7 bites of cake scraps for breakfast. :o:o LOL!!! How awful, hahaha. :o

At dinner I had 4 chicken tenders, 1/3 cup of plain potato chips with 1T of dip, 1 cup of mixed fruit, 1 slice of cake, a wine spritzer and a glass of Sprite. Oh, and I had 3 small chocolates and a mini brownie, approximately 1 inch across, with frosting. I'm not going to bother adding that up. I honestly don't care. :p Everything I ate today was a conscious decision, not mindless or out of control eating.

Speaking of mindless out of control eating, my dog got into the garbage and ate ALL of my leftover fondant. He's now puking giant puddles of neon pink nastiness every few minutes. So much for a relaxing evening.

49 calories over goal today. 1227 calories total. Not bad considering I'm sick with what I am almost positive is the flu. I've not really been hungry, but have craved comfort food all day....and even as weak as I've felt, I've still done a bit of cleaning and laundry (another appraisal probably on Monday...no time for being sick. :( )

B: Oatmeal 2 pkg 260 cal
L: Salad w/ff croutons, carrots, lettuce, ff french drsg (forgot the cals on
this)
S: 100 cal pkg popcorn 100
1 sucker (to soothe my throat) 50 cal
skinny cow chocolate ice cream cone 150
D: 2 cups Campbells' Chicken corn chowder soup 280
pkg whole grain crackers 180

I'm needing the reassurance/encouragement guys....I'm a big weenie when I'm sick and I sooo don't want to NOT lose this week. I know I'm being way hard on myself......I'm afraid if I fail one week, it may spiral out of control.

Hey guys!

Unsure where my calorie count will be with dinner... I ate really light before we went hiking, and we hiked about 7 miles so I'm keeping that in mind.

Breakfast/Snacks - Protein shake, Chocolite protein bar, granola bar - 475 cals

Dinner - We are cooking it now! Chicken/Feta/Spinach breast from Whole foods, eggplant and asparagus... little toast crackers and like 3 oz of fancy cheeses, 2 glasses of wine.

Belly – Aww, thank you! Definitely start running…I actually like it! ;)

Stacy – You’re right! I think I’ll do the high protein thing this week since I spent all the money on the groceries, and then continue what I’ve been doing. I don’t know what I was thinking…I just can’t be spending money like that on food. :dizzy:

Pint – Oh my...that cake sounds AMAZING!

Helen – That’s awesome you’re kicking butt with diet and exercise!! :D

Diana (LA) – I think that is normal to feel like if you “fail” one week you might not get back on plan/lose control. I wouldn’t look at not having a loss this week as a failure at all. Look at it this way, it’s another week you stayed on plan and kicked butt! You’ve already lost weight thus far, and how do you feel? (Awesome, I’m sure!) What makes you think you won’t lose this week? Sounds like you’re doing great on your diet!

LLBold – WOW, 7 miles!!!!!!! :carrot:

Sum: Sorry to hear about your MIL. My MIL teated me great right up till the day she died. I sure miss her.

MzJuicy: Hope you get well soon. Hard to do the right things when you are down but you can do it.

Berryblondeboys: Congrats on the .8 loss. I am cheering for you!!

Diana in LA: I hope that cold/flu is improving for you.

Stacygee: Thank you!! for the encouragement

LindseyLou: Congrats on setting a new personnal best in the 5K

Kim: I have lived long enough and have been around women with PMS enough to develope a coping strategy to deal with it. I Hide!!

Stacygee: I see by your ticker you have lost 71 lbs. Wow!! that is inspiring to me.

LLBold: 7 miles Wow!! I have not walked 7 miles since I was a teen.

Today was a good day for me. My wife and I went to a movie "SANCTUM" in 3D I really enjoyed it and what made it even better was I got absolutely nothing from the refreshment stand. The old me would have gotton the huge refillable tub of popcorn with lots of that oil they call butter and a huge drink. I would have refilled it part way though the movie. I never thought I could watch a movie without junk food.

After the movie it was dinner time and we went to CICI's Pizza. for those that are not familiar with CICI"s it is an all you can eat pizza buffet. I had two salads to start, followed by three slices of Buffalo Chicken 12" pizza and a 1/2 cup chicken noodle soup. Looking up the nutrients on line I had 733 calories for dinner which brought my daily total to 1021 calories. I will have to have a snack this evening as 1021 is a bit light for me.

The scale shows a 2 pound loss today. Yea! Wahoo!!:carrot:

Hi Everyone! I was at the grocery store the other week and saw some packaged cupcakes in the bakery dept. They really looked good. They had chocolate, mocha, vanilla, and lemon flavors. The package said they had 120 calories per cupcake. There are 6 cupcakes in the package. We eat dessert once a week, on Saturday. I thought I would try them for dessert tonight. I read the package and didn't see any artificial sweetener or sugar alcohols in them. I didn't see any weird ingredients. :p Anyways, we had them tonight and they were very good. The icing/frosting isn't heavy like it normally is. It's kinda light and airy, like it's whipped. I think they are an excellent treat. It's difficult finding a lower calorie dessert while still being treat like. I googled the company and found this information. http://modern-baking.com/company/hcbrill/sweet-source-1.html

Reading all these great updates make me feel good for everything. Even those who are sick, are struggling through!

Larry - you have developing great new habits! I hope you're proud of yourself and I'm sure your wife is!

LLBoldasLove - sounds like you are having a lovely weekend with the 'boy'. We took a 1.5 mile walk today and it was windy and could. Must have been nicer where you are!

LindseyLou - great job on making an improvement on your time which is a big deal especially because of the hills! I love the whooping for nearing the end and then probably the dread of, "what??? HALF MILE MORE?? UGH!!!!"

Diana3271 - what are the issues with sugar alcohols. I've seen that, but don't even know what that is or what it does!

LosingWeightinLA - I'm sorry you feel like crud, but you are handling it well. Remember, one hour at a time if need be.

BellyBusters - I'm sorry the scale is being a smart aleck with you. Just keep doing what you're doing. The scale will catch up!

Helen73 - Hope you manage the weird feeling you have coming on about food.

Pint Sized Terror - all I can say is GO TO SLEEP!!! Let your husband take care of things tonight. you need to sleep!

For me today I used my new fitness watch/heart rate monitor for a walk outside. Not much of a fitness walk as it was also with my 5 year old son and husband, but it was nice to be OUTSIDE all the same. That was 1.45 miles. Heart rate average was 116 (we had a couple steep hills that got my heart moving, but otherwise, not much, but it's MOVEMENT!)

Then, to up the difficulty with the Walk it Out game, I jogged in place on teh floor and ran several laps around my rec room to change it up every once in awhile. I did that for 70 minutes and my heart rate average was 130. The game said I did 3.8 miles or 13055 steps (for that time standing on the wii balance board it's usually 5.4 miles - weird difference there!)

Eating was all good today and I'm just feeling great! I sure hope this easy going sticks with me. If it does, I'll be one lucky gal!

Diana(LA) Please don't get discouraged. Sometimes we have those days. You are also not feeling well. I personally think when you are sick, your body is busy trying to heal itself and get better. It's not working on losing weight. I have seen too many people get sick and stay the same or gain. Your body will regulate itself. Eww, I don't like the visual of 2 pounds of sinus pressure. ;)

Stacy Great job on planning out your workouts! I would love to take a spinning class one day.

Munchie Great job.

Lindsey Congrats on the 5K! That's funny about you realizing you still had a 1/2 mile to go. I enjoyed the pictures.

Belly I hope you are feeling better from the headache/PMS.

Helen Hi  Don't start obsessing! Take a breather! ;)

LLBoldAsLove Great job on the 7 mile hike.

Larry Great job in avoiding the junk food at the theater.

Berry Sugar alcohols can cause gastrointestinal distress. ;) (upset stomach or gas) People consume them all the time. I don't necessarily think they are bad. I just prefer not having too many crazy ingredients. Congrats on feeling good!

Morning everyone!

I have to say the hike was AMAZING, my hands got really cold by the end of it, but surprisingly, my legs (in shorts) were fine because I was using them so much. I cant wait until it gets more consistently warm... I would love to make a long hike my typical Saturday or Sunday workout!

Lindsey... I forgot to say, congrats on beating your time on the 5K! Hope you enjoyed your visit to Nashville!

Larry... Avoiding the refreshments counter at the movies is definitely a feat. I shared a medium popcorn with a girlfriend a few months ago, and was horrified when I looked up the stats later. Now we pop two bags of 100 calorie popcorn and sneak them in, in big purses!

Diana... I agree that just staying in your calorie goal when you are sick is something to be proud of!

Plan For Today:

2 cups Kashi Heart-to-Heart + Almond Milk - 333 cals
Apple - 80 cals
Protein Shake - 185 cals (I really need to do my grocery shopping, this is almost the only way for me to get my protein today!)
2tb peanut butter - 200 cals
Lots of veggies cooked in the pan with 3 eggs - 200 cals

Total of 1000 cals... I might keep it there because I cheated on Friday and a little yesterday.

Larry: I would be scared to even set foot in CiCi’s!! All the pizza you can eat for $4.99!! You are a brave man! And then you came in under your calories! That is an accomplishment! :bravo: And thank you for the compliment. 71 pounds has been a chore- but I think the last 60 are going to be even harder! I’ll be here a lot for a distraction and support!

Diana: I would have eaten all 6 cupcakes in one sitting at 10PM at night and been here all the next day looking for people to tell me it was okay! :hun: Spinning is very addictive and I love it. :bike2: But, some people hate it. I definitely recommend trying it though. It is really easy to work really hard in a spin class.

Berryblonde: Did your fitness watch tell you how many calories your walk burned on your walk? I have one. I need to wear it more often. I quit wearing it b/c at the gym my heart rate gets I guess TOO high and all kinds of alarms go off on it. Glad you are feeling great! Exercise can do that!

LLBold: Taking up hiking is something I would like to do. I need to figure out where I could go that isn’t too terribly far from home. And my 6 year old isn’t the best at physical exertion… although my 3 year old would totally keep up!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did an extra walk last night. 1 mile around my neighborhood. I need to start doing that whenever I can to get myself ready for the 5K in April. I walked to a light pole and then jogged to the next light pole. I was actually surprised at how good I felt and only had to walk 2 light poles about 3 times. Although today is my day of rest I will do it again. I think I’ll try 2 miles. :running:

I am planning a light eating day. Breakfast- protein shake, Lunch- protein bar, Dinner- salad. I was going to plan an ornate meal plan for this week but decided to mainly just go back to my salads for dinner. I am going to try to keep my net carbs under 100g and my fat grams under 45g. That leaves protein grams of about 120 to be about 1200 calories. We’ll see. I guess I need to take my granola thins away. That has been my special treat… but I really need to get myself over this hump I am on!

Diana3271

Stacy It was actually easy avoiding the temptation since there were only 6 cupcakes and 3 of us. We each had 2 and they are gone. No temptation. I also do this with brownies. If I decide to make brownies for our dessert on Saturday, I will bake 6 brownie bites. There's also a Peppridge Farms Petite cake that I like to buy. It's only 4 servings. I cannot trust myself around that stuff. I solve that problem by not having it around or only having it in limited amounts. I agree that it doesn't totally "fix" my issue with food. It's kinda like a drug addict or alcoholic. Don't even tempt yourself by having the stuff around. That urge and desire will always be there.

Diana3271
02-13-2011, 12:47 PM
Lindsey I forgot to mention. I don't think you need high protein, but you do need some protein. I don't recall if you have any food sensitivities, but eggs, egg whites, cottage cheese, and Greek Yogurt are all great sources of protein. They are also relatively low cost.

Evening everyone!

First up: Linds - Congratulations on your run! :carrot: What a great achievement... super proud of you :D.

stacygee - You can do it...even without the granola thins. I'm thinking I need to start taking out some of the milk in my coffee...it's just adding up :(

Diana - I wish I was in the US to try the cupcakes. I like whipped icing better than the usual, heavy stuff.

Larry - Great self-control at the pizza place! And congrats on the 2lbs! :carrot:

LLBold - great job on the hike. I love hiking b/c it doesn't feel like a "work" out :D

Pint - your cake for the shower sounds delicious!! *drools*

Everyone else: Keep up the good work!!

For me, yesterday was a rough day in terms of food. I did well during the day and even planned a WW dinner, but.. on the way home from my friend's house I had to stop at the store and it went downhill from there. I swear, all I wanted was to buy an entire cake and eat it . I didn't - thank goodness - but I did end up buying a bar of chocolate of which I ate 2/3  . I also ended up eating more of the chicken-broccoli-peach dish than the serving size was, but... I guess there are worse things to splurge on. Oh yeah, I also had 2 glasses of wine .
Weigh-in this morning was 245.6 - 1lbs lower than yesterday despite all the crap I ate, but I'm sure I'll be paying for it on Monday :(.

Food intake was as follows:
B - 1 whole-wheat roll with fake butter and jam/honey, 1 soft-boiled egg, coffee with milk
L - granola with skim milk and a banana
S - small quark-cream tortelette, coffee with skim milk
D - WW black bean and corn salad, grilled chicken breast, 1/2 roll

I'll probably have a pear later if I end up craving something sweet.

Hi, everyone. I haven't been here in about a week. I haven't caught up on all of your posts, either, and I'm not sure I'm going to (so many pages to read ).

It started with TOM. I took a day off because I felt awful and it was fine and I actually didn't go more than a couple hundred calories over goal. But then I did the same thing the next day, and the next day...

I haven't binged and, while I haven't counted calories in a week, I don't think I've gone over maintenance more than once. So, I'm back in, gonna stop procrastinating getting back on track *sigh* I'm frustrated that I kept putting it off for so long.

I'm actually feeling really stressed right now what with academic pressures and depression creeping back in and my anxieties running higher than they need to be and my lack of a support system here at school. I'm not binging to cover it up anymore, which is great! Really, really great, but my food choices have been, well, of the comfort-variety most of the time. I won't neglect my successes, though; I mean, I've chosen salads a few times, I haven't eaten a bunch of sweets or whatever, I mean my choices haven't been horrible, but I nonetheless really need to get back on plan or else I'm going to feel out of control again and I don't need that on top of everything else.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. To sum up, my goal this week is to log all of my food, no matter what. And to try not to view this last week as a "failure" or even a "waste."

Hi everyone! I am up 1.6lbs from the baby shower. I had eaten 4 chicken tenders, a little bit of chips and dip, blah blah blah... but I know it has to be water weight because I've been at or below 1300 since my "start over".

Today I had:

B: none (gonna have to get back on the ball here...)

L: Approximately 1 c. spaghetti w/ 1/4 c. marinara, 1 large meatball (about 2-3 ounces), 1 regular sized reese cup.

Dinner will be a seafood bake. I'm avoiding the potatoes and corn and going straight for the shrimp. I'll have a salad or some leftover asparagus. Well dinner's calling!

Larry – Thank you! :D Congrats on the 2 pounds!! :carrot:

Berry – Thank you! That was too funny, I was SO excited to be almost done and DH was taking the pic and told me I had more to go!

Diana – Thanks! Oh my gosh, congrats on 157.4!!!!!!!! :D Thank you for the ideas, I don’t have any food allergies. I really want to try greek yogurt!

LLBold – Thanks! DH and I had a great time in Nashville. We went to Jackson’s and loved it! And we checked out Fido. DH was in love with his irish setter latte and his snickerdoodle. :D Thanks for the recommendations!

Cinci – Thank you! That means a lot! I think you did well. Chocolate has been kicking my butt lately! ;) I think EVERY diet needs to incorporate chocolate at some point or another. We would go nuts without it! :dizzy: Congrats on the loss! :D

Eury – Awwww! The fact that you’re not turning to food when you’re stressed is a huge deal! That is great! So what last week wasn’t the “greatest,” just hop back on the wagon with us! :D

Pint – It has to be water weight! I was up this morning too. Oh well, it’ll be gone soon! :D

Today was actually an AWESOME day! It was 64 degrees out, beautiful & sunny. DH, and the DPs went to the park and walked around, played frisbee, catch, ran around! We were there for 90+ minutes. It was great! And DH bought me the best Valentine's present ever - new running shoes! :yay: I HAD to try them out so he and I also went for a jog and a short walk. :running: Love my new shoes!

I also had a bit of an NSV today...while looking for new shoes, I spotted some running pants/capris and wanted to see if a small would fit, thinking they wouldn't and they did! :celebrate: I bought them. ;)

Holy Cow! You guys are very chatty this weekend, and I have been busy, so I am waaaaay behind on posts. I will try to catch up on personals later except a few that stand out in my head.
Stacy- I laughed when you asked where in Costa Rica I am going because I don't know ! My DH was awarded the trip by his company and they are doing all the travel arrangements. We just found out officially we are going last week, so we have been scrambling for passports and getting all necessary info back to the travel agents. I know we are staying at a four seasons resort and it is close to the airport we are flying into?. I guess I should find out where huh? I am scared to death of flying and haven't flown since our honeymoon in '92. I am also a little weirded out about leaving the country (my first time). Tell me its fabulous there and I will feel better! Also, thanks for reminding me the scale deficits may slow down with the weight lifting! I should expect that, but I just feel it is time to start toning up, I think I will see a good difference in 6 weeks. I just got a link in my e-mail and the subject happened to be how much protien athletes need, thought you and others may be interested:

I hope that link works!
Diana 3271- I finally made the broccoslaw! I made it with spaghetti and meatsauce, so I only had a small amount of noodles. I liked it. DH really liked it and was asking all about it. Thanks for the idea!
I had no idea what to eat at the basketball game Friday night so I didn't eat anything! Probably not a good decision because by time I got home, it was midnight and I was too tired to eat. I woke up Sat with a headache, so I learned that sometimes you just have to make the best choice you can. On a positive note, I had a whoosh this weekend. Sat I was 205.4, but I knew it wouldn't stick because I hadn't eaten the night before, so today I weighed in at 206.2!!!!! :carrot: I am so glad to be done with 209s. Overall this week I am down 1.8#, but lost more considering I gained too:dizzy:. Took my measurements today too and I have lost another 2.5 inches. :carrot:Two days of lifting weights in so far this week and I am sore! Especially my hamstrings.

Okay, so I may hate valentine's day before it's all over with, BUT I have a success story to tell. My dd is in kindergarten, which means valentine's tomorrow at school. So, I go to the store and get the little goody bags, LOTS of candy and come home to stuff them. There's a whole bag of the different kinds of candy that I bought left. I sat there and stuffed 14 bags with candy....chocolate of every kind, suckers, etc.....not ONE piece did I eat! :woohoo: Of course, the bag is still sitting there......... I was really hungry so when I finished, I got up, got some FF pringles, made me a turkey breast salad sandwich and came STRAIGHT to 3FC. I know I've said it 1000 times, but you guys are amazing!!! I also went shopping after church today. I think, had I been able to find something I liked, I could have TOTALLY worn an XL shirt (not a plus size 1X, 2X or 3X, but simply an XL!!) Pants are a different story. I know I'll be in plus size pants for a while still. (I have what my husband and I call a "Big Bertha Booty" ) But I think I may be beginning to need new jeans. I'm drying mine in the dryer and they fit when I put them on, but after they stretch a little, they're kinda loose. I weighed this morning and was at 218.2, but this evening I'm back up to 219.4 so I'm not changing ticker. I know I'm not gonna show hardly any loss at WW mtg this week. I've talked myself into being okay with that.

Cincimini Congrats on the pound. Own it for today.

Eurydice Hi  I'm glad to hear you are not binging. Stay strong.

Pint The seafood bake sounds awesome.

Lindsey I forgot to mention. I have seen people post about putting cottage cheese in their oatmeal. I don't know what the ratio is. I have seen a lot of people say they eat that combo. It must be good. I have never tried it. Also, some people make cottage cheese into a savory lunch with pepper, chopped tomato, and cucumber.

Jomatho I'm glad the broccoli slaw worked for you.

Diana(LA) Congrats on the loose pants and staying strong against the candy.

Evening

Jo I am so jealous!! My friend is going to Costa Rica in April. They are staying in this really cool treehouse community. I guess they are condos.

Well my weekend was filled with food and wine. Luckily appetite is back now. -- Girlfriends and I stayed out till 2;30 AM. We had a blast tho.

Husband and I walked almost 5 miles this morning; nice hangover cure :)

I won't step on scale for a few days, I need to get all the sodium and alcohol out of my system first

Jo- Costa Rica is one of my absolute favorite places. Totally worth airplane anxiety. It is beautiful and clean with wonderful food and people. We use to go to Mexico every year- but when it got to be not so safe we started going to Costa Rica. It is such an improvement I don't intend to ever go back to Mexico. LOVE LOVE LOVE Costa Rica. Unfortunetely we aren't going this year - we are going camping in Arkansas. Big difference, huh?
Thank you for the link. It equated to about 104g for me of protein. I was thinking I should make it between 100-120 so now I will err on the safe side closed to 100. Thanks you. That was so thoughtful!

stacygee, where are you guys going camping in Arkansas? We have a "getaway" up there (it's a doublewide on 6 acres in the mountains just south of Hot Springs on Scenic Hwy 7). It has all the comforts of home.....if you should need them while there! :) We spend about 1 weekend/month up there. We LOVE it!! We were up there last weekend, in fact! We're toying with the idea of going to Pensacola, Fl weekend after next. :)

I'm wrestling with wanting to eat my 68 calories that I still have remaining. I'm not hungry in the least, but I know I can still have them. I'm NOT eating them, though. I'm not hungry. I'm not hungry. I'm not hungry. I'm not hungry. (I'm not listening to myself, evidently. ) Sure will look good on the scales if I don't eat them. :) :) :)

Sum, sounds like you had a BLAST this weekend!! :) I'm jealous. Although, my crud feels just a tap better today, I think. Hopefully it'll only get better from here.

Plans. Nope. Just to clean house as it's filthy. And my husband and I aren't feeling very lovey dovey to each other these past few weeks.

To top it off, we overslept this morning and TTOM greeted me this morning. Oh and I'm up .4 of course because its TTOM. For me, TTOM also means that weight loss will most likely stall for 2 weeks which even though I know it always happens, it still stinks!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I think we may go and have sushi tonight. Husband is starting to work more out of the house. He has 1+ hour commute each day, each way. He is hoping to do 2-3 days out of the house. So maybe we will have late lunch/early dinner, before it gets crazy out there.

I have a doctor appointment today. She will be pleaset that I have lost weight.

Back on calorie counting. I don't dare to step on that scale this morning. Unfortunately I will have to at doctor's office.

Hi gals! Sorry, I haven't been around much. I'm such a bad 3FCer. :( This week probably won't be much better, as the children have winter break and I have all four kids at home. Of course, when I get crazy like that, I do crazy things. I took scissors to my hair!! I updated my avatar with my new haircut. I have bangs now. :D It's a bit choppy, but choppy = edgy, right?

Up a pound this morning. I stayed in my calories all weekend, but I did eat some salty food, so I hope it's due to that. Last year, I had planned on being in Onderland by Valentine's Day and that didn't happy. Poo. :( I'm trying to keep my chin up though, because I'm close. Also, I woke up to a clean house and a hot cup of coffee for Valentine's Day. That was nice. :) I made the children and hubby some pink heart shaped chocolate chip pancakes (but stayed faaaar away from them myself!).

I hope everyone has a happy, healthy and OP week! I miss you all!

Diana - Good idea with the cottage cheese, I'll try that. DH and I are having a nice dinner in tonight. I'm making filet mignon, steamed veggies and a baked potato for him. I'm going to head to the store and get a "1 person dessert" for him...probably a mini cake or something. Do you and your DH have any plans?

Shells - Ahhh, screw that one pound! It's gotta be water, you've been working your tush off! You'll be in Onderland soon, I think in February!! :D That is too cute about the pancakes! And I love your hair! You would look great with any cut/style!

Had a great weekend. Playdate on Saturday for the whole afternoon. Rollerskating on Sunday. So much fun! Just a quick check in for me. Lots to do at work. My scale is wonky this morning (down 1.4 yesterday :yay:, up 1.2 today. :dizzy:) My body is too. I feel sore today. Not sure from what. LOL Not worried at ALL!! Shells, I'm with Diana3271....I like the new cut! :)

berryblond, sorry to hear that you and dh aren't getting along too well right now. :( Not a good way to spend today.

Larry, you are doing SO well!! :yay: I'm very proud of your accomplishments so far!! Keep up the great work!!

Diana3271, no real special plans here today. I'm gonna make some brownies (the black bean recipe) for dh today and take them to him at work. I have to clean for our appraisal. Got my kids each some of their favorite candy. That's about it here. What about you?

Sounds like quite a few of us are struggling with this weight loss thing right now. I am at 218.8 (which I don't really consider a loss because it's first morning weigh in, so I know I'll be right back at 219 in no time today). DARN IT! I really hope being sick is just messing with my system (if I were taking measurements, I may still be losing inches, though, just not weight). If I don't see numerical improvement tomorrow morning, I'm definitely thinkin' I may skip weigh in and just stay for the meeting.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Hope you all have a GREAT on plan day!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO THE MOST SUPPORTIVE DIET COMPANIONS IN THE WORLD! XOXXOXOXOXOX

So far my best Valentine has been getting back to 193. I am exactly where I was last Monday moring after not seeing it for the past 7 days! I guess I somehow took a little sightseeing detour! But I am back on track.

After I got to my first graders Valentine Party, then spin class, then weighttraining I will be staining the swing set if it drys out enough. Otherwise I will be folding laundry, straightening the house and enjoying Real Housewives ATL reunion. Then back to the gym in the PM for some extra calorie burn! Definately sticking to salad tonight but will enjoy some lean brisket on top of it YUM!

Diana- We will be camping at Crater of Diamonds, then staying a couple night in Hot Springs and then camping more at Petit Jean State PArk, then going to Little Rock (haven't planned past that.) Let me know if there is something I need to make sure to go see! With 2 small children.

WOW You guys will probably pass RIGHT by the turn off to our place. How awesome! :)

When did you say you guys are going? Magic Springs (www.magicsprings.com) is an amusement/water park in Hot Springs that my kids (5 and 12) love! But it doesn't open til April. There is a science museum that's pretty cool (Mid America Science Museum), an alligator park, LOTS of scenic overlook places (Historic downtown is pretty!). You can go walk around downtown where all the gifty shops are if you're in to that kinda thing. We were not overly impressed with the crater of diamonds, but a lot of people are. There will plenty to keep you busy up there for two days. You'll have fun! :D Petit Jean has a good restaurant! It's really pretty there. GREAT scenery! We stayed there one night during our honeymoon 17 years ago. Have been back a couple of times since then. I highly recommend the hike to the waterfall...with lots of breaks on the way back! You'll have a GREAT time.

Hi everyone!

I'm at 155.2lbs this morning. My fingers and face are still a little puffy, so hopefully that number goes even lower once I'm done with all this water retention. I'm putting myself on a low salt/sodium diet. I have to. I feel like utter garbage when I eat too much of it.

I'm starting on my daughter's birthday dress today. It's going to be soooo cute if I can pull it off. It's been a while since I've actually sewn clothing. :o I'm also planning her cake. I'm thinking hearts and everything girly. :)

Good morning everyone!!!!! And Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im just in a really REALLY good mood, not because I have a valentine (which i dont!) but because im FINALLY feeling like my old self again. Ive been sick since last tuesday and I HATED the fact that I couldnt workout. Last friday on my official weigh in day I was up .8 (271.4) which had me a little down. I figured it was mostly water since I had been eating a lot of soup.

Well this morning I woke up feeling great, but still a little nervous about the scale. I like to see where I am everyday, but i did NOT stick to my diet or exercised for a few days. However, I jumped on the scale and it said 267! I was sooooo happy. I weighed about 5 times just to make sure it wasnt a fluke! lol

B: multi grain cherios and my usual banana
s: 2 cups of mixed fruit (grapes, apples, and strawberries)
L: Turkey burger on wheat and a side spinach salad with cucumbers
s: probably some fruit from the gym
d: i have no clue yet! lol

Exercise: My usual 2.5 hour gym day which consists of an hour of Group power (weight lifting) and an hour of zumba! Then 30 min on the tread

Shells, you look much younger with bangs! I always hack at my hair too. I always have to confess to my hairdresser so she doesn't think it was her bad haircut
Lindsey, forgot to tell you great job on the race. I am impressed with your time especially adding in all those hills! I had a similar experience, DH and I trained for a 60 mile bike ride for JDRF (juvenile diabetes research foundation) which was in Ashville, NC and the hills kicked my @ss! We trained in flatland except for a few bridges and gentle rolling miles (cant even call them hills around here), and I was not prepared for those hills. Downhill was pretty fun though. Anyways, good job, do you think you will run more races?
Larry, you are doing great on your plan! Keep it up, I like your new pic!
Vixsin, I am back up a little bit on the scale today too, but I know my muscles are holding water because they are extremely sore today! You said you were sore, so I am sure you are holding water too!
Stacee, glad the scale was kind to you this Valentine's day! Thanks, I am getting excited for our trip, makes me feel better hearing you say that!
Pint, hope your headache goes away soon!
Berry, do the best you can to keep your chin up, TTOM is a killer sometimes!
Cinci, there are worse things in life to splurge on than chocolate and wine! Both good for you too!
Diana3271, what are your valentines plans?
Diana La, woohoo on the jeans going in the dryer. I thought I was the only one who didn't dry jeans when I am fat and put them in the dryer when I am thinner! Thanks, I feel better! Big Bertha Booty! It's not too late to take measurements. Makes me feel better on a slow week!
Sum, hope the doctors scale is kind to you! Enjoy your sushi!
LL, how was your non date?
Eury, rant away! Thats what this place is for. Last week was not a waste, and you have a good plan for this week to log food and get back on track!
Did I miss anyone?

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! :val1::val2::val1: Nothing too exciting going on here, instead of going out, I will make a nice dinner at home. That way I know what I am eating and I will like it! I plan to make individual heart shaped meatloafs, scalloped sweet potatoes, red hot applesauce (for the boys), strawberry milk (for the boys) and a nice salad with lots of veggies. Just enough to let them know I love them, but healthy at the same time! I hope to get everyone around the table together and maybe even light a candle (ooooooh, aaaaaah)
I will stay on my eating plan today, cardio for 45 minutes to try to get some of this lactic acid out of my aching muscles and I will try to drink an extra bottle of water to combat the water gain and flush me out.
My DH is really dishing out the compliments lately! I love that! Yesterday it was, wow, your legs are reallly looking skinny! Told him it was the pants I was wearing, but he said, no. if they were bigger, they would look bigger in those pants too! Good point. Why do I always downplay compliments?

Hi ladies...been MIA for a while... Fell off the wagon, got depressed and stressed. I'm back and I'm trying to lift my mood up. TOM is right around the corner and even though I usually have an extremely chipper TOM...I have a feeling this one is going to be moody and sad.

My fiancee and I let an unemployed friend move in and all he is doing is using us and we just can't take it anymore. He isn't even trying to find a job! He doesn't even wake up until around 7 p.m. He got over $1000 back from taxes almost two weeks ago and apparently he already spent it all! He didn't even give us a little bit of money for staying with us or buying the jerk food! He bought a small package of toilet paper and that's it! He only bought fast food and NO groceries. Well, I'm sorry but we didn't buy him ANY groceries last night when we got our diet food. And he better not touch my food or I will go batsh*t crazy on him. We work minimum wage jobs, are trying to save for our wedding next year, and are still behind on all of our bills from when my fiancee was unemployed. We don't need a 23 year old man mooching off of us! We tried to be nice and help him out but he's just using us! I'm so stressed and depressed because of this. He's only been with us for a month and I already want to strangle him! We're going to talk to him and tell him to get his crap together or he is out.

.....Anyway...happy thoughts and love to all you beauties.

It can be good / fun exercise. :carrot:

Diana in La: I feel your frustration :( but as you said you have been sick and that makes your body do strange things. You are doing great!! :carrot: keep on plan and it will happen.

Stacygee: Congrats on being back on track. :D Enjoy your vacation! I have never visited Arkansas, just passed through several times.

MzJuicyD: Wow!! Great weight loss. :carrot: Way to go girl!! :carrot: Glad you are feeling better.

Jomatho: Thanks for the compliment. I like your Valentines day plans. Hope you have a Super Day!! :)

Diana3271: "Dinner - 3 Chocolate Dipped Strawberries 300 calories" :carrot: Now that's a dinner after my own heart!! :D:D I tell people that I love this diet because I can eat anything that I wan't as long as I don't exceed my 1500 cal daily limit. If I want 1500 cal of icecream I could have it but nothing else. I feel a lot of freedom and :D as a result I don't get that dangerous deprived feeling that frequently starts me bingeing..

Hi Everyone! Hope everyone had a nice weekend and Happy Valentine's Day!

My weekend was sort of blown foodwise. I ate pretty well but I didn't count points the entire weekend. Since I knew it was going to be a high calorie weekend I ellipticaled for 6 miles on Friday and another 6 miles yesterday. So in total last week, I went for 18 miles. Hopefully this helps with any gains. I was up this morning but I'm always up on Monday because of sodium.

Tonight is my 5 course Valentine's Dinner. I'm so excited about it.

Sorry, no personals today. There are 7 pages of posts since I last read...EEK!!

Look at all the great updates! I'm getting over my little pity party over things. Life will get better simply because the kids are getting older. This parenting stuff is really tough on this marriage thing sometimes. Especially when your kids have special challenges. (One has severe ADHD = which finally my son is learnng to live with without our constant support and the other is high functioning autistic, and that is getting better too - just little by little getting there). What marriage wouldn't have rocky weeks/months? ugh...

OK, off to finish making the kindergarten cupcakes. I'll take a photo when it's done.

Oops! Forgot to add - while the scale was up to 243.0 on the first day of TTOM, Mondays are measurement days. In three weeks I've shaved off one inch a week in my waist - 3 inches! Hips and chest are down now a total of 1 inch and thigh 1.5 inch and biceps .75 inch. I'm getting my hour glass figure back - more like a 12 hour glass figure (46-40-49), but getting better than what it had become 47-43-50 (just three weeks ago).

Lindsey... Yummy dinner! You sure you can't think of some kind of dessert you two can share? Why dont you get some strawberries and Cool Whip, and some chocolate dip, you can just avoid the chocolate but that way you both have dessert together! Or you can get some SF chocolate syrup!

Larry... You're doing great! I'm also proud!

Shells... the new do' looks awesome, I'm always too scared to do anything more than a trim...

MzJuicy... Glad you are feeling like yourself again!!!

Anyways, I have a hectic week ahead... I'm taking a week-long Supreme Court Litigation short course on top of my regular classes, have an article to edit for the journal I'm on, and I REALLY need to start the process to apply for the bar/fill out my character and fitness application. I signed myself up to babysit my little niece on Friday so I know I'll can't go out and then be un-productive on Saturday!

Plan For Today:

Breakfast - Chocolite Protein Bar + 1 TB Peanut Butter + Tea - 235 cals
Snack - Atkins Advantage Shake - 160 cals
Lunch - Chicken Salad Sandwich using low-sodium canned chicken and free Mayo with 35 cal bread + brussel sprouts - 230 cals
Snack - Apple and 1TB Peanut Butter - 190 cals
Dinner - Egg White Omelet (with baybell cheese) with Baked Portabella Mushroom topped Summer Squash - 215 cals
Dessert - Vitatop Brownie with Cool Whip Free - 115 cals

... Around 1200 I think? I did the counting earlier...

Berry Sorry to hear you and your DH are not lovey dovey right now. Maybe that will change, soon. Here's a :val3: from me. :) I just read your other post. Things will work out.

Sum Enjoy the sushi.

Lindsey Your dinner sounds great. Enoy! Make sure you share that dessert with your DH. I like doing that. You still get the taste without all the calories.

Vixsin You are probably sore from rollerskating. I'm sure that works every muscle in the body.

Stacy Congrats on the 193! :yay:

Pint Your DD will enjoy her dress and cake. Post pictures if you can.

MsJuicyD I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better! Here's a :val3: from me. :)

Jomatho The meatloafs and scalloped sweet potatoes sound awesome! Enjoy!

Kayla Hi  Hmm, up the meds or kick the freeloader?? I vote for :kickbutt: I hope you get it worked out!

Larry Hee Hee You like that, eh? ;) I also like the freedom of calorie counting.

Novelista Enjoy your special dinner.

LLBoldAsLove It does sound like you have a busy week.

Berry:  Hang in there. Things will work out.

Larry: Thanks! I love to skate too!

Novelista: :crossed: Hope the scale is nice. :)

Kayla: Welcome back!

Jomatho: Yeah...I'm sure it's water weight for both of us. Gotta love those fluctuations, right? LOL I'm going to get a workout in today anyway.

Juicy: Glad you're feeling better!!

Pint: Can't wait to see your DD's dress!!! I hope you post pics when you're done.

Hi All

Sorry I have been MIA lately, been sick, had back issues, missing a lot of work - which means super busy when I am actually at work.

Happy Valentines Day! :val1:

Did you celebrate on the weekend or are you doing something special today??

Me and the SO had our special Valentines dinner on Saturday night. Went downtown to our fave vegan restaurant. Yesterday, I woke up to a dozen red roses and vegan valentines day cupcakes, he is such a sweety! He even brought our furbaby some special vegan dog treats for V-Day, hehe :val2: And... apparently he has more suprises for me today, when we get home from work. YAY! Excited! I'll let you know what it is tomorrow.

================================================

Here is my plan for the day Mon 2/14/2011

B - 1 cup chocolate almond milk + 1 small banana + 1 WW whole wheat bun with natural PB

L - Veggie Sandiwch on multi-grain bread w/ handful of fries

S - 1 small apple + 1.5oz dry-roasted almonds

D - Not sure yet, we may go out for a 2nd Valentines Day dinner or i'll make something yummy at home, we'll see

Drinking: Starbucks w/ steamed soy milk and a little sugar + At least 2L water + At least 2 cups green tea

Exercise: 30mins brisk treadmill walking + Physio prescribed core strengthening exercises

Have a happy, healthy and OP day

Here are the cupcakes I made for my son's kindergarten class. Sorry to show something tempting! And I couldn't resist one. I haven't had one single simple carb in 6 weeks and I caved today. I think TTOM and feeling blah about Valentine's day is part of it - but it was ONE small cupcake, not anything to beat myself up about.

And onto something healthier. This is that broccoli slaw with a 'fake' cream sauce with arrugula and garlic. WAY yummy and a great alternative to pasta:

Ok, so even though I am still feeling hormonal, whiney, and dumpy... I have got to stop the temper tantrum and get on with it. Yesterday wasn't a bad day necessarily, but we went to dinner with the kids, I got fish with rice and asparagas and had a glass of wine, and I'm up another 2lbs. Ugh. So far today...

B~banana
L~chicken sandwich with cheese and potato chips

Now I have to get my head on straight!!

D~ pork chops, potatoes, and broccoli

Went to have eye exam this morning and had my eyes dilated, which of course is giving me a throbbing headache!! Will try and get in a workout later.

Reading through your posts is keeping me inspired. I will get through this...how long can menopause last anyway??? (Don't anyone answer that question!! ;))

Berryblondeboys... I've tried to do the broccoli-slaw-into-pasta thing (but with red pasta sauce) but it did not get tender enough and I ended up throwing it out... any tips?

In other news, I did not have my planned lunch... I was too busy finishing my reading for my 1pm class (in class now haha) that I had to rush and had a bowl of Kelloggs Fiber Plus cereal... I'll still be fine on calories, but it will be a carby day!

Oh and Vixsin... I got the idea from Hungry Girl! Not sure if I can post links but... http://www.hungry-girl.com/newsletters/raw/1325 - Not sure if I'll do cheese in that or with my eggs, I wont do both.

I also want to try this HG pasta recipe! - http://www.hungry-girl.com/newsletters/raw/1358 - if I can figure out how to reduce the sodium.

Sandwich for breakfast (quirky, I know....wasn't in the mood for breakfast food) 200 calories, salad for lunch (160 calories). May have popcorn if I get hungry between lunch and supper. Dunno what for supper. A Healthy Choice meal, maybe? I've gotta start following plan better so I can have a good week this week. Today should be well within target! :yay: Plus I've been mopping, sweeping and generally cleaning today. That should help. I have a very large area to mop in my house.

Happy Singles Awareness Day! :carrot::hug:

Quick check-in before I'm off to bed... Weighed in at a new low this morning - 245.2 :carrot:
Food account:
B - 2 crisp bread with cream cheese and jam/nutella, 1/2 cup coffee with milk
S - Latte (with less milk than usual)
L - Leftover black bean salad with 1/3 grilled chicken breast, banana, soy chocolate pudding (100cals)
S - bite-sized cranola bar
D - 5tbs brown rice, 1/3 grilled chicken breast, 3 peach halves. For dessert: Latte and 2 mon cheris

Work-out: 35 mins cardio and a few weights (didn't do my whole program b/c there were freaking lines for the machines ). BUT, I did my 5k in less than 35 mins :woohoo: So....it's all good!

hi everybody!
Happy v-day, or singles awareness day :D
Everyone's plans sound so nice!
Lindsey- you are a superwoman, way to go on the 5k. did I mention how GREAT you look in your pics from the race? Wow lady :D way to go.
novelist- 18 miles? I feel like such a slacker in light of all these incredible distances. six miles in a day of ANYTHING would probably kill me right now.
Diana- it sounds like you had a really lovely Valentines day! :)
Pint- Your daughter is a lucky kid! Your post kicked me immediately into maternal-fantasy mode.
Berry- you look like a fantastic cook! I'd kill for a cupcake.. Where we're from, Chattanooga, there are all these gourmet cupcake bakeries that make these little single serving works of art. I got one for my birthday. We don't live there now but I wish my boyfriend would drive up and get me one. Lol. :)

I've been tracking my calories, eating kind of bad food but staying under calories, which is good enough for me right now. Valentines eve (?) was fun but RIDICULOUS food-wise. BF wanted chinese food, so we picked this plain amazing hole-in-the-wall place that has a stellar lunch buffet but doesn't have a dinner buffet, just a menu, which was what I wanted since I know I can't be trusted at a buffet. Anyway, we ordered and they brought out a bowl of rice as big as my head followed by two plates literally HEAPED with chicken. I mean, six inches high. I mean, more food than three people could eat, and we EACH ordered a plate. We were left staring at one another, only our eyes visible over the mountains of food. BF ate about half of his, I only managed to eat a fourth or a fifth of my "serving," so NOW there are two FULL boxes of chinese leftovers in the fridge. Bf is taking care of it, but I really think it'll go bad before we eat it all. I'm trying not to let it pressure me.
Other than that, we went to the new adam sandler/jennifer aniston movie and it was funny. A successful valentines day in my opinion :D although I think I still have chocolates or wine coming. I'd love a big bouquet of irises and white lilies, but I don't think my boyfriend is a mind reader so those probably won't magically appear. Maybe some sunflowers :) who knows. I'm excited though, I never liked valentines day until I met BF, and now I'm just as gushy and sappy as everyone else. sigh :D
I obviously don't have good food decisions to report today. I'm okay with that though, because I've got good food decisions planned for tomorrow.

stacygee, if you're going to be in hot springs for two days and think you might go to magic springs both days, I'd get a season pass. It'll be cheaper (it's just a little more expensive than paying for one day). And they are STRICT about their attire rules. If your swimming suit/trunks have anything metal on them or any hanging strings (even intentional ones) or if you wear denim shorts to swim in they'll make you get out of the water. And you have to have a shirt on (on top of your swimming suit) to ride the rides. Again, VERY strict about that. I got thrown out of the swimming area once because I got in the water in my denim shorts. I've seen them make a lot of people leave out of the swimming area.

Larry....all I can say is IMPRESSIVE, dude!! :) Send me some of whatever's making you lose so much!! Love your signature line, too! :)

munchievictim, don't ya hate it when they bring you SOOOO much food? I mean, how can that be healthy for anyone?!?! We're steering clear of the all you can eat places, too.....they're a big part of the reason I look like I do today. :( Those places are just evil.

Well, I am eating my popcorn right now. Hope it holds me til supper. I got pretty hungry while I was pickin' up my kiddos from school. I don't do well when I let myself get that way. :(

Well, I got a lonnnnggg 4 mile walk in today, thanks to my crappy car battery dying! I drove to the library about a 1/2 mile away and it died...weird. But, I got lots of exercise in - literally "ran my errands" today! I picked up DH a giant chocolate cupcake with strawberry and chocolate drizzle with a chocolate covered strawberry on top! Uhhh....YUM! I'm going to share it with him! Well, I'll eat part of it, not half. Busy, busy day...hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day! :val1:

Here's my check in for today:

B - 2/3 c. bran cereal 140, ½ c. milk 50, 1 c. strawberries 60 (250)
S - low carb yogurt 80, ½ c. blueberries 40 (120)
L- Romaine and red leaf lettuce salad with broccoli, carrots, ½ egg, cheese, croutons, 2 T Lt Ranch dressing 250, string cheese 80 (320)
D - 6 oz. filet mignon 260, 1 c. mixed veggies 80 (340)
S - chocolate cake 200
1230
4 mile walk (1 hour, 20 minutes) burned about 300 calories :running:

My five year old has shared his cold with me, wasn't that nice of him? I feel like a truck has hit me. Me, who can now walk/jog in place for over an hour got fatigued climbing one flight of stairs! I just took a half hour nap and now I feel a bit better, but I think we're ordering pizza in today and I'm skipping the exercise. tomorrow I HAVE to do a whirlwind cleaning, so I need to get rest where I can, but part of me feels like I'm whimping out. It's "JUST" a cold! Ugh...

And then today I did something so STUPID! I grabbed a glass of fruit punch at the party and just drank it because I was thirsty. I didn't even think until I got the shock of "Oh my goodness! I just drank pure sugar?" I didn't even realize what I did! Look how easy it is to slip up? Me, who has had ZERO simple sugars in 6 weeks, did it TWICE in one day! smart Melissa! Doy!

Oh, and guess what my husband is buying? A washer and dryer on Valentine's Day. I sure hope he thinks to pick up something a bit more romantic than that! (I teased him last week for doing this over the valentine's time, but they are on pretty big sales right now and we need them).

KaylaChristine – oh can I relate to you! We did the same thing for a friend on October 16th (is it bad that I remember the exact date? LOL) I don’t think our friend realizes how much he is taking advantage of us, because he has autism, and is kinda clueless to my subtle clues about things… I should learn to be more direct… He does buy his own food, but he drinks our soda… it’s getting tiring… But I’m sure it’s no picnic for him either, he is used to things being organized, neat and quiet, and now he’s living with us (we’re noisy, a tad cluttered and messy). Good luck!
LindsayLou – congrats on your race! Someday I will try something like that too!
LaurenA – oooh! Do share the rest of the surprises when you get them!
Bellybuster – keep going! It sounds like a little water retention, no biggie! Just keep trudging forward! You can do it!
Munchievictim – isn’t the mushy great?! Congrats on finding someone you makes you smile!
Larry – YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

As for me, I had a great day! First, I went to the chiropractor, and she said "you have really lost a lot of inches!" :)
The as I walked out to reception desk, I walked past a giant plate of the most beautiful frosted heart cookies, and I did not take a single one. :)
Then I went to the gym, and my weigh in shows a loss of 2.25 lbs!!! Since Thursday! :)

Okay I also need some advice/ideas. I am in charge of snack for my class wednesday night. Now I know tomorrow's snack person is bringing cupcakes and chips, but since we are in class from 5-8, I want to share something healthier, less detrimental to us munchers. I thought I would bring a veggie tray, but my boyfriend informed me that is boring, LOL. He suggested a shrimp dip, but I'm not sure about that either. Suggestions? I am bringing my own dinner too, because I can't make a meal out of high calorie snacks, but I do indulge a bit in the treats.
Any ideas what would be yummy, but healthy? :)

Yeah, this would qualify as a successful valentine's day. First of all, NO CANDY! I ate one 1.5" x 1.5" brownie (brownie mix and black bean recipe). That was my valentine treat. Second of all, I am COMPLETELY on target. Now, if I can just show a loss tomorrow as a result of being completely on track for the last two days. That would be the ultimate valentine gift! :)

Supper was a lean cuisine french bread pizza (310 cal), 1 Cup of broccoli (25-50 calories) and probably half a cup of my VERY HEALTHY potato salad (don't know the exact calorie on this, but I entered the ingredients in livestrong, I just don't remember what it came to) It's still showing that I can still have about 100 calories. :D Not gonna do it!! Wouldn't be prudent at this juncture. (Thanks, W. )

Lindsey, I can't wait for someone to call me those things!! :) Will it EVER happen to me? Congrats, girl! Each compliment is well deserved! Enjoy them all!

Andejean, I'm sorry....I've thought and thought and I just don't have any good snacky ideas. I guess I'm just not feeling creative today. :(

berryblondeboys, get back up, dust yourself off, and start a new tomorrow. It'll be a brand new day! Try not to beat yourself up like I've been doing lately. It's gotten me no where except in a funk that I'm having to pull myself out of now. :( Hoping tomorrow's a better day for you. (I'm sure you appreciate your son sharing his germs with you about as much as my husband has appreciated my sharing mine with him....we're both snozzly now. boo.)

Well guys, I'm going to go clean up my mess from supper. Enjoy your evenings!! See you all tomorrow. :grouphug:

Ok, I'm rolling myself in to be accountable and then rolling back out. I made dh a valentine's dinner and completely out did myself. I'd hate to know how many calories were in the dishes I made! :o He was really craving some steak, so I even made some of that for him.

Exercise: LS 5 Mile Slim Down
Breakfast: cereal, almond milk, coffee
Lunch: LC shrimp, broccoli, pea, alfredo
Snack: 1 serving dark chocolate chex mix
Dinner: Roasted fennel salad, beef wellington tarts (minus the foie gras :barf:), roasted asparagus, Hasselback Potatoes and espresso/molten lava cake :hungry: (And, yep, I made it all!) and 2 glasses of white wine. I'm sure the entire meal had to be somewhere around 2000 calories. :o

Ok, going to roll myself back out of here and spend the rest of V-Day with the hubs. :val2: Thank you all for your kind comments about my hair cut. I like it, too! ;)

Haven't been doing so well lately - I went absolutely nuts in Seoul and put on something like 7 lbs of water weight in just three days, and fell temporarily back into the crack den of sugar and such. Today was my first day of being (comparatively) back on track. Calories were fine but again too many of them came from crappy empty carbs.

I caught a bad cold over the weekend so I'm not running until I stop making wheezy sounds and coughing every few minutes. Feel a little sore after my exercise tonight which is nice.

Breakfast - 210
-2 yogurts, 110
-5 medium strawberries, 100

Lunch - 1100 (ugh)
-Kimchee tofu stirfry, 250
-10 small strawberries, 100
-"Agepan" bread, 500
-Chocolate from a coworker, 250

Dinner, 250
-"Yakitori" chicken, 65
-1 "head" of spinach and mizuna, 30
-Sesame oil, 70
-Kimchee, 45
-Small mandarin orange, 40

Exercise
-50 minutes walking
-40 min Tae Bo Cardio
-50 pushups, 100 crunches, 10 bird dogs on each side, planks

Total Calories - 1560 or so

Wonderful TTOM added another .8 to my water weight gain. I could feel it last night - my abdomen is very bloated. Didn't help it by eating pizza yesterday, but doesn't the body almost demand something salty around TTOM? Even with a cupcake and pizza yesterday, I was still at 1600 calories, I didn't overeat anything, just different choices than I've been doing. Skipped exercise yesterday as I really did feel yucky and I KNEW how hard I would have to work today with cleaning this house before my friend arrives tomorrow.

Only good thing about what water gain, is that I know it's temporary. So, I'm not changing my weight loss totals.

Diana, what is your new goal now? You should change your profile number, it still says under 200! You are waaaaaay past that girlfriend! Way to go, again, you are an inspiration to me! Hope the doctors scale is kind to you!

Cinci, :woohoo: on the new low!!!! That's so exciting!

Shells, your dinner sounds a-ma-zing! I think that dinner is what will get you to Onderland! No seriously, I think your body will let go in a few days because you told it not to worry, you are feeding it well! Try weighing yourself for the next 3-4 days to see what happens. If it works for you, then I am splurging for sure,... but you go first :D.

Gaining, hoping for a loss for you today!!!!! Way to stay on plan yesterday! Is this official weigh day for you?

Berry, hope your cold leaves as quickly as it came! Don't fret about the sugar yesterday, just don't let it turn into an all out sweets fest. Back on track today, and get that house cleaned! Those cupcakes looked beautiful!

Stacee, hope you avoided the chocolate all night and saw 192 like you wanted! Keep us posted!

Larry, another 2??????????????????????Way To GO! Love your ticker!

Munchie, glad you had a gushy, sappy Valentines day!!!

Vixsin, hope you are less sore and you had a good workout! My water weight is almost all gone today, about .2 left, and then on to a new low hopefully...

Lindsey, sounds like a runner has been born!:)

Lauren, what were the other surprises????

Juicy, Hi There!

Jomatho I'll explain about the 200. I started working on this weight loss thing in January 2008. At that time I only had one goal for my life with regards to my weight. I want to live the rest of my life below 200. I have spent the majority of my life over 200 pounds and a good portion of it over 300 pounds, and even pretty damn close to 400 pounds. I made a mental agreement with myself that I will be happy with my weight, no matter what it is as long as I stay below 200. That is still my lifetime goal. To live below 200 pounds. I want to keep that there so I remember my original agreement with myself. I want to remember where I came from and what I've been through. I don't want to lose focus on what's really important. Weighing 155 is not important. It's nice, but not important. I can probably stay pretty happy and healthy below 200. That's what's important.

Couldn't wait to get on here and tell you!!! I finally saw 192!!! YAH! I'm not going to change my ticker until it is there two days in a row but at least I know my scale can go lower then 193 now!!

Krampus - 1500 isn't bad at all, and your workout was awesome! You're doing well my friend. I'm sorry to hear about your trip to Seoul, but I'm sure you'll have that water weight off in no time!

Diana - I like your reasoning about "below 200." I think it's important that we don't forget where we started.

Stacy - That's great!! :D Isn't that funny that we often think our scales can't go below a certain number. :dizzy: I think mine just likes 147 right now!

___________________
Valentine's Day was a success - stayed on plan! And even enjoyed some cake - so worth it! I'm down 0.2 to 148.4, still have 1 pound of water weight holding on. TTOM should be here in a couple days so I'm not sure if I'll see that number on the scale go down or not. So I guess it's time to change my weight on here. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday! :grouphug:

I am going to weigh freakin' 219 for the REST of my life. I am totally on plan yet I have not lost ANYTHING (okay, MAYBE .5 lb) this week. I am trackin' everything I eat....down to the one bite here and one bite there...If I eat it, I track it. Half a lb? For real? In a solid week, half a lb? And probably not even that. Today is official weigh in day at WW and it'll be my first week to lose NOTHING. I am thoroughly disgusted. I really hope it's just a result of being sick.....if I have two weeks in a row like this where I lose NOTHING, it'll totally mess up my goal. I hope I don't get irate and just quit if that happens. Livestrong tells me I'm supposed to have 1178 calories for a 2 lb/week loss. Seriously, can I go LOWER than that?!?!? I'm already freakin' eatin' nothin'. What am I supposed to do? I am sooo utterly discouraged. I have had a couple of over target days this week, but over target is still less than 1500 calories. Geez. 1500 calories a couple of days and I get a half a lb loss or less?!?!

Sorry to come and vent my anger. I figured this was the place to do it though. I hope you guys have some wisdom for me....I feel a spin out of control splurge (perhaps an extended one) coming on......I don't want to do that, but I am THAT discouraged. :(

Stacygee - way to go!!! Those plateaus, even though you KNOW they will happen, are so hard to take! Good job for sticking with it and powering through!

GainingweightinLA - yay for making it through Valentine's day with no candy and eating on target! Look how feeling better does wonders?

Krampus Glad to see you back. Did you have fun in Seoul?

Shells - love the new hairdo (makes you look younger too) and I can see it in your face that you're thinner than your old profile picture! Your valentine's day dinner sounded fab too!

Sum - Yay for the great walk and glad your appetite is back. While I know you are trying to slim down, having 'no' appetite isn't good either!

Larry - you are doing so great! Yay for the scales!!!

Diana3271 - I love your explanation of why 200 is important and your attitude is great. It is so true, while 155 is great. You don't "need" to be there to be healthy as compared to 300 or close to 400? How can it compare? With your great attitude, I just know you'll keep it off too!

Novelista - glad you are taking a 'eh' weekend in stride. It's healthier that way!

Lindseylou - yuck on the car battery, but I guess if that meant you felt great about a 4 mile walk doing errands, then it's not all bad.

Andejean - Had to feel great that the chiropractor could tell the difference!

Munchievictim - Wow!!! That does sound like a tremendous amount of food! But remember, you can throw it OUT too. They, the restaurant is wasting food, not you.

Lauren - hi! and thanks for the kudos on the cupcakes! and sounds like you had a great Valentine's Day!

MZJuicy - your mood was almost contagious yesterday! (I say almost because I still felt like crud!) And woohoo for you!!!

Bellybuster - sorry for the weight gain on the scale. When it's taht huge you know it's water weight gain. I have a 1.2 gain in the last two days too. Hate hormones!

LLBold - WIth the broccoli slaw I just added it to slightly salted water and cooked it until I felt it was al dente. I tried it several times before draining it in a sieve. Probably 3 minutes? Not sure. It wasn't too crunchy, but still had a bit of a bite to it as I hate soggy veggies.

cincimini - woohoo on the new low!!!! Go you!

Pint Sized Terror - good luck with making your daughter's birthday dress. I had every intention of making clothes for my kids (boys), but boys stuff is harder and I was always so exhausted when they were little that it never happened. Maybe with grandkids? And woohoo to the new low! Hope it sticks!

Jomatho - take those compliments as you've earned them. Nothing better than compliments from the man in your life!

KaylaChristine - sounds like the mooch needs to go. You have a big heart, but that doesn't mean you should be footing his bill.

Linds - Sorry to hear about your car battery dying, I hope it isn't too expensive to replace. At least you got some good exercise out of it... right?!? :D

berry - It seems like every other person has a cold right now. I hope it doesn't hang around for long.

Ande - Bringing healthy snacks to a gathering is hard, especially when you know everyone else is bringing junk. How about Triscuits, carrot sticks and hummus?? It's healthy but also delicious! Most people enjoy carrot sticks and Triscuits so it's sure to be a crowd pleaser. You could also add other veggies too, I like hummus w/ broccoli and cucumber spears too. Let us know how it goes.

Diana(LA) - Great job having a successful candy-free valentines day :cp:

Shells - Awww, you made all that for you and your DH, so sweet. :D

cimcim - Congrats on the new low!!!! That's amazing and well deserved! :cheer2: :cheer3: :woohoo:

Diana - Hi, hope you have a super day!

Hi Joma!

Sum - Boy does your day sound hectic! Try and take some time for yourself

Krampus - Oh dear, that crack-den of sugar! It can really sneak up on you eh. A couple of weeks back I feel into it too, drinkignway too much pop. It was hard to stop by now that I have I feel a lot better for it. Hang in there, you can get past this.

Stacy - 192!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: Great job :cp:

=================================================

Soooo last night we decided to stay in for our 2nd Valentines day dinner. It was really nice actually. After we went to the gym together, we got home and cooked together! :D

We decided to make something from our new cookbook (Veganomicon) and it was sooooo good. I made the Pineapple-Cashew Quiona Stir-Fry. He helped me prepare all the ingredients, lots of chopping which he doesn't mind doing, and I prepared the Quiona and started the actual cooking. It turned out great, sooooo yummy  Can't wait to try something else from the book.

For dessert we each had one of the valentines day cupcakes I got on Sunday and then my suprises came!!!! A box of vegan truffles and a new purse by Mat and Nat (they are designers who make eco-friendly and vegan bags and accessories www.mattandnat.com), it's really cool the lining is made out recycled water bottles! I am going to post pictures in my blog of everything some time today if you want to take a look.

Anyways, back to my plan for the day Tues 2/15/2011

B - 3 weetabix w/ almond milk + 1 banana

S - 1.5oz dry-roasted almonds

L - 1 cup red-raddish tabolueh w/ hummus and hot sauce + mixed greens salad w/ grape tomatoes, soy cheese and balsamic dressing

S - 1 apple

D - Homemade Vegan Shepherds Pie (made with lentils and packed full of veggies)

Drinking: At least 2 cups green tea + At least 2L water

Exercise: Physio prescribed core strengthening exercises

Have a happy, healthy and OP day

Unfortunately this happens from time to time. I'm actually up 0.2 from exactly one week ago, and down 0.6 from February 1st! It sucks, but it happens. Just keep staying on plan and it'll come off. I completely understand how frustrating it is! I'm upset that in 2 weeks I've only lost 0.6!!

Diana(LA) - Awww  Honestly, this does happen. You can lose week after week consistently and then all of sudden bam, it feels like you hit a wall. We have all been through this and we have all (and still will) gotten past it. I know it can be frustrating but hang in there, look at all the success you have had so far. It is definitely something to be proud of. Have you tried plugging in all your stats and seeing if your daily calorie needs have changed because of your weight loss?? Maybe that's a good place to start. If you need any advice or support we are always here.

That is one pound a month!!! :o Although I did get down to 147.4 on 2/10, but now I'm back up after Friday dinner date with DH! I guess I'm on a little plateau too. :dz: It's super frustrating, I just want to be at my goal weight and tone. But, I guess my point is, keep on truckin' and I'm right here with ya! I just have say out loud right up front that I LOVE THIS THREAD!!!!!!! (it's just one of those days that I am super grateful that this place is here. :) )

I dropped back down a pound of that water weight. I'll take that. Didn't get a chance to workout last night. Definitely going today. I'm already in my gym clothes. LOL :sssh: All the bosses are in Boston so I'm comfy today. LOL

Just got my shipment of PB2 in the mail yesterday. So far, the plain was only ok as a sub for the real thing. But the choc/pb was better. I think I could get used to that one. I added it to my plain oatmeal and made for a real nice pb twist to it. It was awesome when I added my Kashi to it. I had it for supper last night and again for breaky this morning. I'm going to try to do more things with it to get the pb taste rather than sticking myself face first into a jar of it. I've got to get away from actual pb. That's my absolute, hands DOWN my BIGGEST weakness.

Anywho, busy busy at work. I'll check back again at lunch time.

______________

Lauren: Can't wait to see pics of that bag. Your dinner sounds amazing!! I love hearing about your recipes!!!

Diana: I ENTHUSIASTICALLY agree with Lauren! That was a beautiful post. Thank you for reminding us ALL not to forget where we started in this journey. That was JUST what I needed today.

DianaLA: Hang in there, my friend! Think of it as a test. A test of strength if you will. Who's going to win? You or the scale? Who's stronger?? Are you going to stop doing the great things for your body that you have been doing JUST because the scale is being stubborn and doesn't want to move? OR Are you going to FORCE that scale to move down by continuing to plan and eat your healthy meals and get your exercise in?!?!?!?!? (I know who's going to win.) You show that scale who the boss is!!!

Linds: Way to stay on plan during VDay! :) And will you post your race pics again? I missed them. :(

Oh...and a general question to those who will know.....BROCCOLI SLAW?! I am hearing about it...I am really intrigued by it. Use it as a sub for pasta? Really? Can someone take the time to explain it to me? Where can I get it? I don't think I've seen it at my stores around here. Please help. I think I would love it. LOL Thanks gang!!

Vixsin - I eat broccoli slaw as a different kind of salad. It tastes great cold and crunchy covered in your fave dressing, usually a vinegar based coleslaw dressing. It's a nice change from a regular salad.

I've never used it in place on pasta though... hmmm I wonder...

Larry you are really wanting this! I am loving being part of your process.

LindseyLou...hottie you!!

I am here, because I wanna eat!! I am feeling really anxious. ... as I said, my MIL is staying here whilst we are gone, and I am starting to panic. I love her dearly, but she is soooooo nosy. -- I worry she will get into our personal info. I fear she will break the lock on my office door... I don't want her to know our stuff. What we spend our money on, how much we make, what tax deductions we take....I am in sheer panic. -- So I want to eat. Thank God for 3FC. I would be making myself something fatty right now. I am such a stress eater.

What is it about mothers and being into everyone's business. I have yet to meet a guy who does that! MY MIL won't actually go out of her way to find stuff (breaking a lock on a door is even a possibility? Wow!) But my mother in law has to know, how much we weigh, how much we spend, how much we make, what everything costs, etc. She feels it's her right as she's my husband's mother. My husband had to start taking a prescription for Vitamin D and she had to know everything about it, picking up the prescription thing without asking, etc. "What? Why can't I just look? You're my son. I need to know." Ugh...

Is there a way to move the documents so that she can't find them? In the attic? Buy a safe?

Sum38
02-15-2011, 02:08 PM
She keeps telling us because she is THE mother, she needs to know how much hubby makes. We politely tell her, thank you for the concern, but we are comfortable.

I was thinking about moving files, but I have two huge filing cabinets filled with stuff. Plus all my work stuff. I work out of the house.

I told our mailman today not to give her our mail .I will stop it, but she has no permission to say...oh, it is okay to bring it all...

I am really stressed out.

I have always let her be close to the kids. Now I just feel this may be a bit too much. I am not feeling good about this at all.

BTW, I had made a comment of FB (yeah...I SHOULD know better) that I was having late V-Day sushi date with my husband...and yes she was there waiting for us. :(

berryblondeboys
02-15-2011, 02:17 PM
Man, I thought my mother in law took the cake, but yours does. I think you see yours more than I see mine and I LIVE with mine. My husband invites her to more things than I would like. She's planning a vacation for all of us to be at the Croatian seaside and I don't ever want to go with her. First, she will be condescending and her behavior is totally embarrassing. Plus, who wants to vacation with their mother in law? She's like the last person in the world I want to spend a day with, let alone 2-3 weeks! ACK!!!

To show up on a Valentine date? Why doesn't your husband ever put his fut down. Like, "Mom, go home!" UGH!!!

No real time for personals today... law school is kicking my BUTT this week! I think the next three weeks (until spring break) will be really hectic. I'm not even going to weight myself this week - I'm afraid I will still be at 127 and I will lose my motivation to go to the gym ... since I only have like a 1 hour block of time each day this week to work out, I dont want anything making me drag my feet!

Sum - 1) Thank you and 2) WHOA! Your MIL is crazy! :dizzy: Sorry. Seriously snooping into your personal, financial info?! :nono: You guys are adults, and how much you make, what you spend your money on is NONE OF HER BUSINESS!!

Berry - Are you serious? Your MIL needs to know how much you weigh and how much you eat? Good grief. I don't understand how they figure it's ANY of their business! And a vacation for 2-3 weeks with her...God bless you! My MIL keeps telling my DH and I she wants to come visit us, which is ok, but she told me she wants to stay at least 2-3 weeks. :dizzy: That is not ok! I told my DH and he was like I don't think so, maybe a week!

LLBold - Wow, you're one busy chick! I hope things aren't too crazy the next few weeks with school. You're right in keeping focused on workout accomplishments instead of the number on the scale! I think I need to be doing the same thing! :D

Thanks Berry and LindseyLou... I keep telling myself that I will be MIL one day, and hopefully I have learned something from this.

The sad part is. Once kids are grown (3 years). My husband really wants to move away. My MIL is only 65, and very healthy. I know she does not need us here taking care of her yet. I think, maybe 10 -15 years away, will be good, and we will be stronger to come back to care for her and him when they really and truly need us.

Just having a bad day, and feeling sorry for myself. Sorry gals, and Larry :(

Well my Valentine dinner was probably the best meal I've ever had in my ENTIRE life. However...being up 6 pounds from Saturday morning is NOT ok. I am really hoping it is sodium.

I have to be honest. I'm finding it really hard to stay on plan on the weekends and then I was invited for drinks on Thursday evening and then a double date Saturday night and then my birthday is next week and I am scared I'm going to fall back into unhealthy patterns because I gave myself some freedom this weekend and I enjoyed it and now I don't want to restrict myself.

I am really happy to have lost the 15 pounds and now the scale is reading 193 and I feel like I'm having a total MELTDOWN because I always get complacent and that's how I end up gaining it back. I did do the 12 miles over the weekend and I thought that would help with the gain but to be up6 pounds shows that it didn't.

Just had to get this off my chest because I feel really vulnerable to my unhealthy patterns right now.

Personals:

Shells- Your dinner sounded soso delicious!!

Lindsey- Way to go on your 5K!!! Congrats! You look great!

Larry- Congrats on the 2 pounds!

Cincimini- Congrats on the new low!!! YAY!

Diana LA- I'm with you. This weight loss is a frustrating process!!

Thank you by the way! I'm curious, what did you have last night that was so amazingly delicious? :D Great work on the 12 miles!!! :high: I for sure thought with running the 5k and all the exercise I got this weekend I would have kicked that water weight bye-bye, but I haven't completely...yet. ;) We'll get there!

DianaLa: Don't give up! Don't give in... the only way to break a plateau is to power through it. Try changing WHAT you are eating for a couple of days or upping your exercise. Love You!

Novel it sounds like you could have eaten at my fav restaurant, though since you're from NY, I highly doubt you came to Sheboygan WI for dinner, LOL. We always go to this fab restaurant for Valentines day. We skipped it this year, because our schedule was nuts, but in a month or two, we're going. It's a once a year treat, because last V-day we dropped $200 with tip. Definitely worth it, just only once a year, LOL

Thanks for the encouragement everyone .

Sum - Your MIL is pulling some crazy s*** :dizzy:. She sounds like a real piece of work. Maybe I missed this, but...what is your husband's take on this? Is he at least trying to put her in her place?
As for now... if you don't want to de-friend on her on FB (I can only imagine the drama that would entice), you can always block her from seeing your posts (in the privacy settings under "custom" you can list people who you don't want to see your wall posts). And if he complains, just play dumb and say it must be a Facebook problem :D. At least you'd be able to have dinner in peace .
That being said, I would also change the locks and NOT give her a key to my house. She is acting ridiculous and like a child...no reason to put up with that, seriously!

novel - I totally understand your weekend difficulties. I'm also a candidate to "make exceptions" for this and that, but from the people on here that have been super successful, it sounds like you just HAVE to stick to your plan. If you go out for drinks... drink water (or diet soda). If you go out for dinner, you order the salad. It's just how it will have to be for now I think
OMG, that meal.... *faints* . There is no way to stay on course for that but... why would you??? It sounds delicious!

Eep! Apparently I missed the deadline for registering for a Bar Review class online and having my firm pay for it! I spent 20 minutes thinking I'd have to front $3,000 (my Italy money) but the BarBri people took pity and agreed to mail an invoice to my firm!

Phew!

I hope each one of you know that YOU ROCK!! Thank you all for your encouragement. I AM staying on track (although I don't want to!! lol) I've had 500 of my 1166 calories for the day. Weigh in is at 5 pm tonight. I know it will show no loss (or very little)....there's nothing I can do about that. It's a new week. It'll be a better week.....you guys help me when no one else can get through my thick skull. It's really NOT about the number....it's about health (but it's still frustrating). Thanks guys.

Today I am feeling the effects of last night's killer workout! I took my usual group power class for an hour. Afterwards i took my zumba. The zumba instructor that normally teaches the class was sick so another lady taught the class. She was CRAZY INTENSE! The entire class had red faces (even us black folk! haha) and was drenched in sweat. It was truly a great workout. Today i'm taking it easy. I plan on doing a workout DVD when I get home

Phew, got a crap load of groceries today. Tomorrow is my day off from working out, so I plan to spend the majority of the day cooking and getting some portioned out meals in the freezer. I get sick of having to cook everyday. Also broke down and bought some bras today (sorry Larry). Didn't want to get any yet, but mine are all falling apart at once! Once I get to goal, I want to go to VS to be measured and fitted and splurge on some nice ones, but these will do for now.
Diana, that was such a nice story you told us! I completely understand now why you have that there and I hope I didn't offend you in any way. You are amazing!
Stacee, woohoo for the 192!
Diana La, you are NOT going to be 219 for the rest of your life! You are not quitting this journey! Pick something and change it. Type of food, timing of food, amount of water, type or amount of exercise, etc. Also, I would not decrease the amount of food you are eating, I actually wonder if you are eating enough? Maybe if you don't show a loss at your meeting today they will give you some insight or ideas too. You just have to keep on keeping on! It sucks to not see the scale move, I know I've been there, but do you really want to be fat for the rest of your life? Sorry to be blunt, but it is this or being fat!
Lauren, your man sounds like a good guy!
Novel, sounds delish!
To all those nosey MILs :frypan:  :club:

LMAO JO so funny...

Sorry I think I am pre menstrual. Let's look at this way. She has been a fabulously involved grandma. AND I am a person who can handle her over bearing behavior 60% of the time. A win-win....

Kids came ahead.

Jo I need bras as well. Desperately. I was thinking about getting some from Target....sorry Larry :) :)
Sometimes those little undergarments just make us feel so pretty.

Back to cleaning....and not eating.

Jo, you are exactly right! :) It IS this or being fat. I wanna choose this, not being fat. I was having serious frustration this morning....I may not be done having the serious frustration....still have weigh in tonight. :( BUT, I'm sticking with this. You guys are amazing. :grouphug:

Oh, and Jo, I LOVE your smiley above. It describes exactly how I feel today!!

DianaLa, I'm glad you took that well. I wasn't calling you fat, by the way. I was speaking figuratively choose fat or choose healthy, ya know? For me thats my choice, because I am fat!!! It must be contagious because I am feeling a little sorry for myself today. I finally caught up with my calorie logging and I don't have many calories left for dinner, probably a big salad for me and that sounds sucky. Oh well. I choose salad over fat!

I can't believe I have a little extra time while at work! I'm going to try to do personals before someone walks in!

Stacy Great job on the 192! :yay:

cincimini Hi

Lindsey I'm glad to hear that you had a nice Valentine's Day. Congrats on the .2!

Diana(LA) The stall could have to do with the fact that you've been sick. It takes time for the body to get back to normal. Keep your focus. It will come back around for you. Please don't splurge. That won't get you anywhere. It won't fix anything.

Berry Thank you. I am so hoping to keep it off this time. I forgot to ask about your "pasta w/cream sauce and arugula". What does the arugula taste like? I don't think I have ever had it.

Lauren I looked at your blog. You had a fantastic Valentine's Day. How are the wedding plans coming along? Try the broccoli slaw in place of pasta. It's awesome!

Vixsin Yay on getting rid of the water weight! I have to stay away from peanut butter too. I used to eat a whole jar of it with a spoon. Not good! This is the broccoli slaw that I use. http://www.eat-smart.net/products/product.aspx?id=3 A couple weeks ago I made mushroom and chicken alfredo over broccoli slaw. I boiled the broccoli slaw until tender, not mushy. It was wonderful.

Larry Congrats on the 2 pounds! You are kicking butt!

Sum  On the MIL situation. Hopefully you will be able to relax while you are away.

Novelista Stay strong and find your focus again. I'm sure the 6 pounds is mostly water weight. about the MIL in the safe. That sounds like an idea. ;) That menu looked fabulous.

LLBoldAsLove I'm glad your firm is still going to be able to pay for your Bar Review Class. That's a lot of money!

MzjuicyD Congrats on that awesome workout!

Jomatho No offense at all. I like grocery shopping, but hate putting them up and cooking.
