Default 12 WEEK CHALLENGE -- Week #7

12 WEEK CHALLENGE -- Week #7

OK Challengettes... I hope the rest of you did better than I over the Thanksgiving weekend. The funny thing is that my hubby says "you really controlled yourself"... and I don't see it at ALL.

So - how about in 'honor' of the holidays past and yet to come - we post about what we're grateful for... INCLUDING

ourselves and what we did do and are doing "right".

I don't know about you, but I am majorly beating myself up for "slipping" as much as I did... and I have a really hard time focusing on what I did do right.

So... How about you? What did go right? What are you proud of - no matter how small you think the achievement is - come on - in this instance SIZE does not matter!!!

I'm beating myself up as well *sigh*. I did really well on Thanksgiving, had my plan, stuck by it and stayed right where I wanted to, it's the subsequent days that got me.

I'm happy with the fact that I did get some activity points in--snow shoveling! Woke up Thanksgiving morning to about 10" of snow so the better part of the morning I was outside shoveling the white stuff. I also got some more in yesterday and it's looking like I'll be able to get some more in later today.

What I'm grateful for:

Being able to slip up and get back up on the "wagon"
Maintaining my weight loss
My health
My family
My parents
My best friend for listening to me
The friends on this board
My weekly WW meeting

As far as what I'm doing right--

Journaling 95% of the time
Walking
Yoga class
Drinking water
Trying new recipes

I'm sure I'll think of others but this is what pops to mind. It's so easy to see all our faults and hard to pat ourselves on the back for all the good we've done for ourselves and others.

Thanks Melissa -

I'm just having a really hard day today... one of those I can't do anything right. So let me follow my own advice and echo what you've written:

What I'm grateful for:

Being able to slip up and get back up on the "wagon"
Only gaining .2 lbs over Thanksgiving
My health and my family's health
The love of my husband and my core and "fringe" family
My best friends being there for me
All of you on this board
My weekly WW meeting.. but alas I'm now up to 137.0
Going skiing last Friday with my hubby, stepson, and childhood friends of my H. It was wonderful because they were.

What I'm doing right:

Journaling 85% of the time
Walking
Bicycling in and out of doors
Eating raw veggies
Getting back on program after this "lapse"
Weighing in

Great idea to take stock. It may help with the challenges we'll be facing over the next month.

What I'm grateful for:

Good health
A funny and supportive life partner
My great big Canadian family
My friends
A job that I like
This board, and all of you
That I've been able to maintain (+- a few lbs) for three years

What I'm doing right:

Journaling 80% of the time
Exercising (when I'm not injured)
Eating lots of veggies
Staying in control on business trips

There are a few notables missing from the second list. Maybe I'll work on those over the next week.

At weigh-in yesterday, I was down 2 from last week. That's pretty much where I was at the beginning of the challenge. Guess that's why they call it a challenge.

I just got this tape of Anthony Robbins "Get the Edge" -- don't laugh too hard guys... and interestingly enough there was a huge thread of remembering to be grateful running through this program.

In fact he suggests doing 5 minutes of gratitude each morning... right after a 3-5 minute breathing exercise (four short breaths in through the nose and four short breaths out through the mouth).
Can't say this is a cure all, but I do feel pretty good after doing this.

What I'm grateful for:
Additional gifts of insight that soothe my soul
I stuck pretty much to the WW program yesterday
A place of work where I can either go to the office or work from home
that I can eat a bagel every morning and still be on program

What I'm doing right:
listening to the right "voices"
drinking more water than yesterday
checking in with you guys.

Can you believe that 3 weeks from today is Christmas??? Yikes! Time sure does fly by! I'm off to Chicago on Friday and am looking forward to going downtown and shopping. My mother and my older son are also going. I'm looking forward to it.

Okay, here are my numbers for this past week:

Wed: ??
Thur: 25 + 3 AP (snow shoveling)
Fri: 22
Sat: 23
Sun: 25
Mon: 22
Tue: 18

Now, there are probably some other points that should be there but aren't because I did some snacking on Saturday/Sunday that wasn't marked down in my journal so the actual points are definitely different. Anyway, I know that Thanksgiving is accurate because I made sure I journaled.

And so here is my weekly weigh in results:

Week 1: 137.2
Week 2: 137.6
Week 3: 137.0
Week 4: 137.0
Week 5: 137.4
Week 6: 137.6
Week 7: 138.0

I expected a small gain and it's a combination of snacking and TOM arriving next week so I'm not too concerned. I get so close to my goal of 135 and then it moves away ever so slightly. I'm doing well maintaining though
