January was a little rocky for some of us, but February is a new (and short) month. It's a perfect time to set some good, new goals AND ACCOMPLISH THEM! :D

The rules of this thread are simple. We are here to provide each other some accountability along the path to weight loss. So, you just set your weight loss related goal(s) and it gets added to a goal list. When you reach your goal, it gets turned Red. We have a sister thread for exercise related goals: February Exercise Challenge. All exercise related goals can be posted there. We love to hear about your success, as well as your challenges throughout the month. We're here to support and encourage each other to be our best. So, let's get started!

Lose 5 lbs. I'll chack my starting weight in the morning and I'll go from there. Oh..and read a health/diet book. That'll be a good start. Look forward to getting my rear in gear this month!

My goal for January is to finally finally finally hit my goal weight of 140lbs and cruise right past it to 137lbs.

So my first goal is 140 and my second goal is 137

Well, January was a bust. :( I'm planning for February to be better though. I'm reasonably sure I'm retaining water so I'm going to wait a few days before figuring out what my target weight is, but I'll go ahead and say my goal is to lose three pounds.

I will be posting more on the exercise thread this week, only because I dont have a scale here at the house.
I go to the doctor on the 8th so I will find out my weight then and keep you guys posted.
I would love to lose 8 pounds this month.
I have a 5 week old and am breastfeeding... so the doctors don't want me losing too much at a time.

January goal will be to loose 6lbs will check my starting weight tomorrow. Didn't meet my last two monthly weight goals but I lost 12lbs so far so 6lbs should be more realistic :)

My goal is to lose 10 pounds! It's shooting a little high, but I figure I can do it since I am starting at such a heavy weight. I'll post my starting weight tomorrow morning!

My exercise goal is to get to the gym 5x a week for 45 min, but we'll see how that pans out.

My goal is to loose 7 lbs. in Feb. and to go on my tredmill 4 times a week for 20 min.....
I can do it, I can do it.
BTW starting weight is 177lbs ohhhhhhh

January was a long month of not much happening for me February will be different. In November I lost 4 lbs, December 3 lbs, then January only 1 lb lost. I went up and down all month long. This month well be differnt. My first goal is to get to 157, which would be a total of 10 lbs lost since I stated in November. My end of the month goal is to get to 155.

SW: 159.4 lbs (January 31st)
GW: 155 lbs

I lost around 10 lbs in January. I have a goal to lose 20 lbs by April 1st, so my goal for February is to lose 10 lbs by the 28th. :)

February will be my first official month, so I'd like to jump in on this one! :D

Since I will be going from no changes to several changes, I'm hoping that I am able to be a little ambitious with my first goal challenge and still be successful. That being said, my goal for February is to lose 15 lbs before the 1st of March. We'll see how it goes!

I would also like to include a daily goal of drinking more water! I have gone days without drinking a single glass, and I know how bad that is for me. I now have a filter for my kitchen sink, so I plan on drinking water every day in February to help get into a lifelong habit of choosing water over other drinks much more often.

I'd like to lose 6lbs, do HIIT and lift weights everyday, drink 8 glasses of water a day, keep my sodium and sugar low, and average 7 hours of sleep a night!

I just restarted my diet and exercise so I am not sure what would be realistic for me. So, I am just going to say that I want to lose at least 1 lb a week and more if I can. How's that.

dixie! I was just going throgh this post and was so excited to see you on here! Im back.. and I wont leave again... bad things happen when i leave this place and you guys!!

Well today is day one! let the good times roll! im journaling my food and actvity and if this baby will sleep.. my first workout dvd will be thrown in the player!
Im sticking to walk away the pounds dvds for now.. the biggest loser ones will have to wait till my incisions heal and im cleared by my doc!

Alright, here I am, lighter but not at my goal for January....sooo....I'll try again for another 10lbs which would put me at 233 at the end of this month! Maybe I'll be lighter in a few days to sort of help it along since TOM is lurking.....

Same here, Night. Today was the day I was going to start walking...then, around midnight last night, it started hailing. Woke up to over two feet of snow outside this morning! Guess whatever working out I'm going to try doing will be inside today -- and, probably the rest of the week, as well. :headache: Lol.

I have been OP all today and made it to the gym for 1 1/2 hours with 60 minutes on the treadmill! Hope to lose couple lbs quickly so my tracker will be right lol...
Hopefully I will have willpower tonight, which is always my worst time of the day! Good luck to everyone!

I finally got on here to report my starting weight: 146.6. I am changing my goals to: Lose 4 lbs and read a heath/food book. So great to see everyone on here. I'll get around to the goal list probably tomorrow night. I'm pretty sure we'll have a few more joiners before then. Either way, I don't have any free time before then.

This month holds MANY challenges (birthdays, Valentine's day, weekend events/trips, SuperBowl...Go PACK Go!!!!) so I am setting a reasonable goal and I will be OP on the rest of the days, so the "challenge" days don't equal disaster for the month. And here we go....

I'm a little late but would like to join this month's challenge. I lost about 12 pounds in January, but I think ~5 lbs of that might have been water weight lost when I finally got TOM after not having it for a few months. So, my goal for February is to get out of the 260s, which should be about 7-8 lbs. Tomorrow morning is my official weigh time, so I'll post a starting weight then (starting weight 266.1 lbs).

Got on the scales this morning and it said 149.6. Sandee said size 14"s would be too big. You are right a year later LOL. Im hoping for a size 10 when Im done and on maintanance (sp?). Exercise for the day might be digging out this snow. Catch ya all later Pat

Hey Chicklets, I set a goal for four pounds in January, but didn't really try to lose any weight, and I'm happy to say I succeeded, lol. Actually, I lost .8 pound. I did get a house call from TOM yesterday, so that probably didn't help with the weight loss either.

My goal for February is to stay under 150 (I was 149.2 yesterday and 150 today, so I need to get out and stay out!). I would love to get to my ultimate goal of 145, but I don't much care, as long as I can learn to maintain, and still be able to eat my beloved popcorn (almost) every day.

Thanks MsP, for keeping this thread going. How's the new job? Are you feeling like you're into a routine yet?

My goal is to lose 7.2lbs this month. This will take me completely out of the 220s!! I am following Weight Watchers and plan on ordering Turbo Fire. Right now, I am training for a 10k that is in April.

Welcome one and all! It's NEVER too late to join this thread. We have new joiners throughout the month.

Today went pretty well. I'm definitely satisfied with how the month has started out. Exercise has been sacrificed temporarily in the name of santiy. The new schedule is fairly tight in trying to keep up with everything right now, so I chose to focus on food and relationships right now. Exercise will come back in the picture in a couple weeks. I know that sounds bad, but I know me and it's the right thing.

LouisaH-The maintenance thing seems to be going well for you. I know you've bumped up into the 150's a couple times, but mainly you seem to be staying right within a few pounds of your low weight. The new job is good. It has crept into my home life right now as I study for an exam to get certified to sell securities (mutual funds, annuities, etc.). I'll take the exam next month probably, then I can reclaim a little more of my personal life. The guy I work for is very complimenary of my work and his wife, who has been his assistant, also seems very pleased with my work, so that's reassuring. It's made it difficult to fit in exercise as mentioned above, but it's temporary. I'm slowly adjusting to being a working woman again. I don't care for the busier schedule, but I'm getting more and more organized as time goes on. In another month I hope to feel even more settled and find a rhythm to it all.

Well, enough talk. Time to work on the goal list, then study!

Yep, I'm officially at a plateau 1 lb away from goal weight. I've been staring at 141.something for the past 2 weeks. It's like my scale is giving me the middle finger :mad:

Well I've lost a couple pounds in the past few days and weighed in at 169.0 this morning. I'm hoping I still have a little water weight to lose since I have been waking up with a very puffy face every morning for the past couple weeks. Like the kind of puffy you get after sobbing all night. I don't know why since I haven't been having much salt and my water intake is the same. I suppose it has to do with the cold symptoms that plagued me in January. At least it's improving.

I've started a P90x TurboFire hybrid program, and I am so sore. It seems I have my calorie counting back under control even though I still have some of the ravenous hunger from January lingering. But again, it's improving, so I'm happy about that. I'm going to wait a week or so to let my weight stabilize before I decide where my three pounds lost are going to start from.

Sorry, I'm going to skip the personals today, I'm having a hard time just making myself check in today....mainly because I've gained 3 lbs....I haven't eaten well lately but also TOM just arrived, left and arrived again....it's being tricky...so I hope that it's related in some way because it's discouraging to see such a jump. Wish me luck! :dizzy:

Me I just did my workout and was down another pound. So that is 171 right now. I know I said I wasn't going to post it everyday, but I weight everyday because of the wii so I might as well.

Im doin good today.. feeling great! i forgot how pumped i feel when i work out and eat right. I have been making all kinds of new and old favorite super healthy recipes and my bf is eating them too! ( and liking them!)
and get this! my 6 week old slept from 10pm to 530am last night! i was AMAZED! i got up at 530 with him and stayed up! ( and im not usually a morning person) I got my whole days worth of errands done before lunch! (thats a big feat for me.. im usually slow rollin in the morns!)

anyway.. i hope you all have a great day and get some butt!

oh.. sidenote: my starting weight on here is my highest just before i had the baby. i have no idea what my weight is.. or how much ive lost since the birth and everything. I wish i knew what it was on the 1st when i started actually eating right and moving my butt. I need a darn scale!!! i have a doc appointment on the 8th.. so i will at least have an updated weight by then!

I would LOVE to lose just 1 pound a week, so 4 for February would get me going in the right direction!

I am currently on week 5 of TurboFire and haven't lost any weight yet :( I love the program and know I'm burning calories, now I just have to figure out how much to eat!! :D

Just a quick post to say I'm sick of the frozen mess outside!!! I'm not sure how I've kept myself from baking durning all of this c-c-c-cold weather, but I have!!!

Here's to hoping the Spring is indeed, early.

Pat - you're SO close!!! I'm totally in for budding up. I'm trying to convince Shari to get her butt back on here too!

I miss the tag game... it really helped me to work out, which is where I always slack at. Right now I'm just working on getting my 30 mins in a day... but my couch is soooooo comfy! :D

On that note, i'm off to do a video.

What day is everyone weighing in? I'd like to join the group... I'm thinking that I might change my weigh in from Tuesday to Friday. I guess I'll decide in the morning depending on what the scale says! :goodscale

My weight has been fluctuating like MAD: I was 267.4, then up a couple pounds and now I am down 1 again. So I just have to focus on getting all my fluids in so I can go downwards on the scale. Hopefully this kidney infection will clear up pretty quickly!

Crikey, I'm having a hard time tracking calories--I just can't make myself do it. And when I don't, I keep finding myself in the kitchen, like I'm sleep walking, and waking up with my head in the fridge. Being holed up in the house for so many days in a row isn't helping, but I really don't like this feeling of being out of control. Somethings going to pull me back to reality soon, I hope. I was back under 150 this morning, but I've just finished the entire batch of popcorn myself, so we'll see what the scales say tomorrow.

MsP: good for you for taking a level-headed approach, and knowing what to let slide while you get into the routine of work. You know you'll get the exercise back in there soon.

It's nice to see so many reunions on here, and know that we all inspire one another and make a difference. I know I sure couldn't have done this by myself, and have all the cheerleaders here on this website to thank!

Hopeful8: that isn't the bird, it's the number one--maybe it means you're perfect just how you are!

Ms Perception- Thanks for the list!

chloekinsicle- awww me too....but if you have a kidney inf they give antibiotics right? those tend to bloat a bit...no worries it should drop.

Enygirl- what's the tag game? I think some of us weigh in, some don't...some daily...some weekly or monthly.

idream- yes I think I might remember you...or maybe just from this year...I have a funny memory sometimes. it's quite cold here too...I dread going to clean my houses today but at least it will keep me out of the food. Here's hoping to early spring! :cool:

BeLight- your goal seems reasonable.....how's it going?

fauxtini-yes I liked that one for this type of journey so I kept it! As for the sleeping baby, that's awesome! I remember when mine did that, I almost woke them up cause I was afraid they'd stopped breathing...!! Poor lil buggers! *it's quiet....too quiet....lol*

My boys are finally headed back to school today!:carrot: I am looking forward to a little more quiet in the house...just a little though:dizzy::dizzy:, I still have my girls home and they're crankin' it up this morning!!

I have a sec to post so I thought I'd post something I posted last time I was here...

Ladies, if you haven't already, you really should take your measurements!!!! I'm sure this has been talked about before, but ladies, it's such a great tool! Your weight will fluctuate a lot--especially when you exercise and build muscle. We all know muscle weighs more than fat right? Right. So it makes sense that if you're building muscle that your scale will sometimes show a gain. So, taking your measurements helps to ease the pain of seeing an upward swing on the scale. ;) Also, it's fun! Maybe not at first, but after a month or two when you add up the inches lost--:woohoo:

Also, my siggy says it all--DRINK YOUR WATER!!! Water, water all day long! I am a retainer--I mean, my middle name is Camel! One missed day of proper hydration and I puff up and the scale goes UP! Don't get me wrong, I still drink other things (well...coffee, I pretty much stick to water all day) but it's in moderation. I know that there's a lot of soda drinkers out there--try cutting back if you can. Even zero calorie sodas have lots of sodium and can cause retention. So drink up ladies--water is so good for you!!! :swim: lol

Whew! Okay, that was a novel! So sorry to ramble on like that. Just thought I'd get that out there--espeically for those of you who are seeing the scale go up despite staying on plan and exercising.

Good Morning Everyone!

Thank you for welcoming me:D Give me a little while to get to know everyone please, I've never been good with names! But am excited to be part of this challenge.

Week 5 of TurboFire is completed and, yet again, I did not lose anything. I did take my measurements before I started and haven't checked though, but I'm not feeling very optimistic about that either. I am enjoying the workout though, so that is something, right?:dizzy:

This morning I did Fire 60 ~ 60 minutes of jumping around and flailing like Grover (that is my best attempt at doing what they are doing) and burned 530 calories plus my GoWear Fit showed that I burned another 150 the next hour, so the after burn myth is true!

Trying to figure out how many calories to eat! I track everything at MFP, not sure if I'm allowed to list that here or not? If not, sorry:o

The sun is finally shining here and we are looking at the 30's for the weekend, heatwave baby!

Have a great weekend, I'll be back on Monday to see how everyone is doing!

Eny~I miss the tag game too. It made exercise fun and challenging. Maybe we can start it up again. It would be a nice change of pace. I weighed in at 148.2 this morning. A wonderful surprise for the day. Hope you can get Shari back on here It would be fun.

Enygirl- what's the tag game? I think some of us weigh in, some don't...some daily...some weekly or monthly.



Tag was a game in which someone would start and "tag" 3 other people to do some sort of exercise. It would be anything really - crunches, dance like a fool for 5 mins, do 25 squats, etc. Then once that person completed her tag, she'd tag 3 more people to do exercises. It was a lot of fun - and a lot of work! There'd be times in which you'd log in and have 5 tags waiting for you!

Pay day is not a good day to eat on plan. NO EXCUSE though! I knew what i was doing and gained that 1.3 pounds back. So yeah. back up to 172. That is okay though. Just do better today and get it back off.

I want to scream from the rooftop "I DID IT, I REACHED MY ULTIMATE GOAL". This morning I weighed in at 139.4 which puts me .6 lbs under my ultimate goal of 140lbs. I'm still going to keep going, as I feel that another 10lbs will finally get rid of the little belly that I am still carrying around with me. I never ever thought that this day would get here but it finally has!

Me on the other hand not so much :( I weighed in this morning really shouldn't have though haha I'm in the middle of TOM so I'm not too worried but I was up a pound. I'm still holding out that, that will not be the case next week.

Just checking in to say that I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!! :) Also to keep myself in check...I've been a little lax on the weekends.

We're getting some snow today, which would be great if it weren't for the tons of ice we still have. :mad: I'll take snow all day, but this ice needs to be GONE! I don't want my kids running around outside when everywhere they go is covered in inches of ice--I don't really want to drive anyone to the ER today for a concusion or anything. But I want them (and me) OUT of this house!!!!! Add to that that hubby had to go in to work today to remove the snow off of his lot and that makes me grumpy. :censored: Mainly because he took the best car for snow driving and it has the girls' car seats in it. Sigh...Dangit.

Okay, I'll be strong. I won't make any comfort food today. I will stick to my plan, clean my sewing room and work on the Spring quilt I'm making for my bed. I might also wear ear plugs or listen to my iPod to drown out the noise the kids will make playing inside. ;) LOL

Alright--enough rambling! :blah: I need coffee! Hubby let me sleep in :val2::yay:and first thing I did was work out so no coffee yet!:yikes:

Drinking a ton of aqua today in hopes I am still retaining a bit of water weight from the ever so lingering TOM weighed in today at 216 so not down but not up so we'll see how it goes tomorrow. So excited to weigh in tomorrow!! Spent almost 2 hours on the elliptical today felt fantastic I've never done it that long before, but I wasn't going at full speed my tummy's a little off today so I took it a bit slower...here's hoping I'm not getting sick again :dunno:

i binged last night. i ordered pizza. i ate 2 pieces and a few breadsticks. I am definitly an emotional eater. I'm not proud of myself. But i'm glad that i stopped before the pizza was devoured.
Pizza is now gone..and time to start day one again.

it's amazing how quick my mood can change and i dont care about everything healthy iw as so pumped about 10 minutes prior.

Iknow my trigger is my emotions.. things get bad.. i eat.... i need to be aware of that.. and hop on here when i get in a 'mood'

Holy mother of weight gain, Fatman! I believe my stated Feb. goal was to stay under 150, and I have only been there for two days. This weekend was a total fiasco and I'm up to 153.4 this morning. Zoiks. I'm being good today, and will see what tomorrow brings.

Hello everyone!! It's been a long time since I've been on the boards, I recognize a few of you still though!

It has been a rough 7 or 8 months for me, but I'm ready to get back on board. I haven't completely failed, but I did gain back 14 of the 35 pounds I lost. When I get overwhelmed/sad/angry/whatever I eat. I know I do this, yet can't get myself to stop, so I'm back here to get motivation from you all to stay on the wagon. Plus, I got rid of all my "fat" jeans, and I have to be able to wear something!

My final goal is still the same, 135-140, so I still have a ways to go.

I've been trying to watch what I eat the last few days, so I'm getting back into my calorie tracking.

Ms. P, please set my goal for 5 pounds this month. SW=173 GW=168. Thanks!

Morning chicklets, I was back to 152 this morning, so at least I'm on my way back to my ticker weight, and I resolve to get to my goal. I've had some inspiration not only from you all on this forum, but from a former coworker I saw who has lost a ton of weight and is near his goal. Unfortunately he's doing it on the HcG diet, which I think is unhealthy, and a disaster waiting to happen (500 calories a day? I ask you...), but he's got the discipline that I seem to have let go out the window.

Discipline and resolve. Those are the keys! Choose to do it for yourself, and there's no cheating because you won't want to. Success is the greatest motivation in this weight loss game. Sometimes we just need a reminder of that, because success and feeling thin tastes so much better than whatever you're putting in your mouth!

Nella: Congratulations--you made it back! It's so nice to see you. Hooray for you for not letting it get completely out of hand--those 14 pounds will be gone in no time and it will be like you never left.

LouisaH: I know what you mean...discipline and motivation have always been my weaknesses when trying to lose weight. Just being on 3FC everyday is helping out tremendously by keeping my goals at the forefront of my mind -- and, reading all the stories (good *and* bad) of other people's journeys and their tidbits of wisdom they've taken from them has been a source of inspiration, as well! I have no doubt that we're in the right place right now.

To you guys doing the tag game, that's actually a really cute idea...I like that! Haha. I'm surprised that a thread for it has fizzled in the past, as it sounds like something this forum would really enjoy.

Now, back to my own progress update....it has been very, very slow. I've made a post about it elsewhere, but I still feel like I need a good kick. Already 8 days into February, and I'm only about -2 lbs from where I started. Better than nothing, but still a lot slower than I was expecting! It will be difficult to reach my -15 lb goal for the month at this rate. :( I need to find good ways to exercise more in my apartment...going to be getting hit with yet another snowstorm this evening. Yuck!

I asked on the other thread, but I will ask here, as well....do any of you have any indoor games you've used and liked for weight loss? Like Wii Active, the Zumba game, Just Dance ones, etc...? (I have an Xbox as well, but no Kinect, so using my Wii is preferable.) Not sure what all there is now, but I was going to look into getting one to help me get through snowy days until Spring gets here. I think it would help a lot. Also, any DVD recs are welcome, as well. Thank you, ladies! (And, gentlemen too, of course!)

GUH! I have been goind over my food book and trying to figure out where my extra two pounds have come from. I am almost back up to my starting weights. I am just under 175. I had that mess up on thursday and felt icky on my day off.

So I am thinking it is because I haven't been as good with my water as I was. I need to get back on to that. So I guess

Lots going on this month so I am commititng to a physical challenge instead of a show to the scale. My goal is to walk 50 miles this month! I would like a show on the scale as well as I continue on my journey to lose the last 20!

I have "Walk It Out" for the Wii. It is really amazing how you plan to just play for 15 minutes, look up and realize you have been playing for 40 minutes. It is a walking game with excellent music. You can walk with someone if you like. I walk with my daughter more often then not. I bought the "Walk It Out" game off of Amazon for $29. You may wish to read the reviews there to get a better idea if this would be a good option for you.

Weekly weigh-in: down 2.7 Lbs. to 263.4!


On Monday I was frustrated because I hadn't lost much this past week and I'd been completely on plan with both diet and exercise (though Sunday and Monday I was too low on my calories)... and then I had a ~2000 calorie day yesterday (I didn't mean to go that high!) with a boatload of water and saw a 1.1 lb drop this morning!

BeLight, I am very new to this (and so feel like I don't have much useful input). But I've definitely thought about (intentionally) doing calorie cycling - alternating a few lower calorie days with a higher calorie one. Maybe just switching up your calorie intake on different days to keep your metabolism higher could help some? Also, everyone keeps telling me to watch my sodium intake, and I'm really beginning to agree with that. I feel crummy when I've had too much sodium, and I retain a ton of fluid. I've really been trying to up my water intake, especially when I have a high sodium day/meal.

Good luck, and great job sticking with the exercise!

Thanks Chickadee, I know there is a way, I've just got to find it! I will not give up!

I track all my food (protein, carbs, fat, fiber & sodium & water consumption too) at MFP, it's not always easy, but I do try to stay under the 2500 a day for sodium.

Maybe the "zigzag" approach would help ~ :)

Perhaps eating more often? I am trying to eat something every 3 hours. It is supposed to fuel your metabolism so that you burn more of your days calories than you would if you consumed your calories only 2-3 times a day.

I can not testify much as I just started this a few days ago, but I have dropped a few pounds in those few days.

This is a wonderful board. I feel like I learn something every time I log in!

I do eat every 2 1/2 - 3 hours and have for a long time now. Seems I've been at this forever! I was at my goal weight 3 years ago, then I quit smoking and put on 30 pounds. Lost 8 last year, now the last 22 don't seem to budge!

Like I said, ONWARD! :)

This is the 3rd day in a row that I've been sitting stagnant at 139.4 due to TOM and frustration is starting to set in. I'm really really hoping to hit 137 by the end of the month and with the way it's going I'm teetering on the possibility of doing that. Hopefully the weight loss gods will hear my prayers and grant me a low number on the scale tomorrow.

Everyone is doing great! It's been a few days since I've been on this thread, and there's so many new updates...so, CONGRATS to all the newest "losers"! :yay:

I've been stuck at a few pounds in, but I got a little mini -1.4 whoosh myself this morning, which has restored a bit of my faith in my ability to lose weight. (Still thinking I probably should have chosen 10 instead of 15 lbs for my goal this month. Oh well! Lol.)

Here's the update so far:

SW: 261.4
CW: 255.8

-5.6/15 lbs for the month.

I chose Fridays to be my offical weight in. Of course I start TOM today also. This is just fab!!!;) And I show no change. I am still at 172. Okay no biggie, Just keep up with everything and hope I have a "whoosh" moment when TOM leaves.

Gon the scale this morning to see I'm down a sad 1/2 pound.
It's better then nothing so I'll take it haha
I have been working my behind off this week, worked out for a total of 9-10hours this week and I thought I have been eating pretty well.

Took my measurements and on the bright side I am down 3 1/4" from Monday which is FANTASTIC :D So I'm happy about that I'd prefer to be down 3 or 4 lbs but I'll take the measurements a loss is a loss...and really I'd rather look thinner then be friends with my scale right? :lol:

After being stalled for a few days because of TOM I saw a very nice drop on the scale today. I weighed in at 137.8, so that puts me at .8 away from my 2nd February goal. I'm so excited to be almost midway through the 130's! I'm so close to 70lbs lost I can taste it.

:dizzy: They are nearly impossible for me too, I do the first one but only hold for 30 seconds and I do 4 on each side. They must work really well I feel the burn during and all the next day for sure :o

My scale shows a -1.8 drop from my update a few days ago, so I'm happy with that. I thought for sure I was going to get stalled because of how much sodium I ended up taking in last night. (Note-To-Self: cheese & bread is not an acceptable midnight snack when you're half asleep! Lol.) But, thankfully, after drinking a bunch of water before I went back to bed, it seemed to help flush most of it out by the time I woke up and got around. Whew!

Thanks! I hope it will be nice to me too! I guess I'll find out when I weigh in this upcoming Saturday morning. I'm planning on going a little lighter in the starchy-carb area this week to balance things out.

As of Sun morning (and actually, it's the same tonight) I'm down 2.4 lbs to 261.0 since my weigh in on Wednesday :D and I'm REALLY hoping to somehow squeak out another 1.1 lbs to get to my goal by this Wednesday's weigh in!

For tomorrow, I vow to: 1) get in a workout at the gym, despite the fact that I'll miss my usual gym time due to V-day dinner out with my husband, 2) eat well during the day to allow for dinner out calories, and 3) skip my usual morning latte so that I have enough calories for a glass of wine at dinner. I would be SO thrilled to see my Feb weight goal met on my Wed morning weigh in!!! It probably won't happen, but it definitely doesn't hurt to try. :)

Happy Valentine's Day Chicklets!

Congratulations to all of you who are kicking some butt this month! That's so exciting. Keep up the good work and the motivation and inspiration for us all.

MsP: I can relate. It's hard to manage a full time job and have enough time to obsess over your diet and weight! Thank goodness for this board so I can tune in when I have the time and get that injection of motivation from everyone here. Thanks for being the monitor--I know it's hard to keep up with when you're so busy!

I haven't had much time to check in lately, but I would have to call my February goal of staying under 150 pounds a wash because so far I've only been under 150 for two days this month. I'm 150.2 today, and have mostly been staying in this one-pound range. I don't know what my mental block is on getting down a few more pounds so I can hover in the 140s, but I'm quite sure that's what it is--a mental thing.

I'm cooking a nice Valentine's dinner for my love tonight, and we have a good bottle of champagne to enjoy with it. Oh, and yes, some lovely chocolate for dessert. Let's hope I can eat more of the low cal stuff and less of the high cal stuff. Just gotta keep it in control! Gonna eat light today to save up the calories. Good luck to all of you!:val3:

Well I had my v-day dinner last night since my hubby is working tonight and I really over indulged! Didn't even attempt the scale this morning.
I tried to eat healthy/low cal during the day and dinner wasn't too bad but I had a Bellini and 4 bites of a triple chocolate brownie explosion (the name says it all yumyum yummy) which was bad enough but it didn't stop there. After we went home I downed a bottle of white and had 5 chocolates :mad: yikes what was I thinking??
Eating really light today mostly because my stomach is rejecting all that sugar and well lets face it wine haha Going to avoid the scale for a few days work my butt off tonight and tomorrow and hope for the best :dizzy:

I'm really PO'd with myself. I did pretty well yesterday with V-day: ate low during the day, skipped my latte, got in an hour at the gym... all the things I pledged to do. And I was relatively good at dinner, and came in under my target calories for the meal out. But I didn't drink enough water, and the scale was up 0.7 lbs this morning. :( Then today was even worse! I was crazy at work and didn't have time for "lunch" until 5pm, I didn't drink nearly enough water, and by the time I got home after 9pm I had to choose between cooking dinner for my husband or going to the gym. I'm really PO'd with myself. I did pretty well yesterday with V-day: ate low during the day, skipped my latte, got in an hour at the gym... all the things I pledged to do. And I was relatively good at dinner, and came in under my target calories for the meal out. But I didn't drink enough water, and the scale was up 0.7 lbs this morning. :( Then today was even worse! I was crazy at work and didn't have time for "lunch" until 5pm, I didn't drink nearly enough water, and by the time I got home after 9pm I had to choose between cooking dinner for my husband or going to the gym. Weight is back down this morning - yay! I knew it was probably water weight. I will be really good about drinking my water this coming week, no matter what.

Official weigh-in: 260.4 lbs. That's down 3.0 lbs. since last week's weigh-in, and 0.5 lbs. from my goal for this month!


I've made my GoWear Fit my personal challenge now, I will burn over 2500 calories a day and I will lose this weight. Today was mostly OP but my portions were still too large. Tomorrow I'm going to cut back even more and try and keep my calories under 1600.

The weather here has been a nightmare and I haven't been for a walk since January 1 - no kidding. I can wait for the weather to break so I can get regular exercise. When I don't walk - nothing happens :(

Susiemartin, have you heard of the walking DVD's you can buy?? I have friends that love those workouts, Leslie Sampson or something like that. They have been around for a while, so you might be able to pick them up cheap on ebay or amazon. Just think Spring is right around the corner!!

Tomorrow is my weigh in ~ fingers crossed! I've been burning 2500+ calories a day and eating 1800, come on weight loss :)

I saw the portion chart at our local WIC office (they help with milk,eggs,rice,formula for small children) and I would feel like ripping someone's face off if I ate that small....maybe some day though.... gl on the walking me either...argh forget winter! :mad:

Yes, I have the GoWear Fit, it is beyond easy to use, thankfully!! I just got the display unit to go with it so I can see all day what is going on with my calorie burned. I got mine on Ebay for $79:carrot:

I'm easily amused (sometimes) and when I first synced the display to my armband it showed "Hello Amy" on the screen:D:D How neat is that? It knew my name lol

The display also has an alarm that goes off each time you hit your daily goals (vigorous exercise, moderate exercise, steps taken and calories burned for the day) make me feel special:cool:

Morning ladies...

Well...I'm actually down to 245 today....progress even if it's not where I started this month. I'm cleaning my house today so that should be enough workout for me. I haven't cleaned in a while and it shows...something about when I clean for a job I don't want to when I get home...eh. :o

I still need to eat better in the evening...if it's there I'm terrible. :devil:

As for the tag challenge:I have completed my challenge to do 10 wall pushups every time I got up for 30 mins...total of 30. It was hard to find an open wall in my house lol!

I just wanted to check in this morning. A visit from the period fairy has kept me from dropping anything much. I had an initial 2 pound gain at the onset, I have finally dropped that and an extra so... that makes me -8/10 for the February challenge. I would like to reach my February goal ASAP so that I can begin to work on the March goal of -10 pounds.

I did not have much going on for class this week homework-wise and work has quieted as the week has worn on. I am looking forward to regenerating a little this weekend. Have a fantastic day all!

NightAngel - thank you!! And congrats on seeing the scale moving this week! I used to have a really hard time in the evenings too, but trying to eat some whole grains at dinner and drinking a lot of water in the evenings really helps me most nights.

dcapulet - On on of my first days here, I read something in someone's signature that has really stuck with me. It was something like "No one ever says 'I wish I didn't exercise today'." That really helps me keep going on the days when I so don't feel like dragging myself to the gym.

BeLight and JasonsLea - I am keeping my fingers crossed for your weigh-in tomorrow!

The scale was down further this morning (258.2), so I guess I can consider it real. Yay! I won't change my profile or signature though until my official weigh-in on Tuesday. Now my goal will be to keep off what I've lost through the rest of the month, which will be challenging considering TOM arrived this morning and I'm travelling on business for 5 days next week - yikes!

WI this morning was stressful, as it was showing no loss at first. Well, I had a glass of water, waited for about 20 mins to go pee again (sorry, TMI...lol), and then checked again before I got dressed for work, and it showed a -0.8 loss. I triple-checked it to confirm, and it stayed at 251.6 each time. I think it's a combination of me having a weird body and an aging scale. It's actually a good one, but it may be almost time to replace it, lol.

Surrender - Oh, I'm sorry...I didn't know you were sick! Of course, that is fine. Hope you feel better soon!

I hope I can do exactly what you are doing. Right now my greatest hope is to get back into my pants and down to 140's.

Hey chicklets, I'm back from judging a homebrew competition out of town over the weekend, and I was really worried about being way up, but I'm actually only a little over where I was when I left. I have TOM trying to come back for a repeat visit this month, and am feeling ravenous. I've drunk more beer in the past month than I have in the past year, and have to work hard at reincorporating it into my diet without gaining. I ate like crap over the weekend, and am looking forward to getting back to my good food.

hey all! Sorry i have been mia for a week. My parents came to visit for a little over a week.. and it's been busy! They spoiled my newborn and me.. and now im back to normal... but the baby is still spoiled! hehe

have the worst cold in the world.. and so does baby... not fun..

on the bright side.. had a weight in.. have lost 28 pounds since the birth of the baby... :)

Weekly weigh-in: 259.0 lbs. I think at least a half pound of that is retained water weight... I was at 258.4 lbs. yesterday morning before a hard workout with the trainer, and was definitely on plan diet-wise yesterday. Wish I could weigh in on my normal day (tomorrow) to see that water weight come back off, but I'll be travelling on business and won't have my scale. I vow though that I will stay on plan with the diet and exercise while travelling these next five days!

Oh, and I will do my tag later tonight!

My scale was on the fritz this morning...think I weighed myself about 30-40 times, all with different results. I even moved it from my bathroom, which has some uneven bits in the tile, to the flatter kitchen floor, but it didn't seem to help. I was moving all over the place like my scale was the cursor for a ouija board! Haha. Anyways, I came on here to research new scales (still think I may get one) and found someone who mentioned pulling the battery in your old one first to attempt to recalibrate. I did so, and my scale seemed to read more consistently after that, soooooo....after all that, I got 251.0-251.2 on the scale. Still hinging on the grips of my latest plateau, blah. :( Fine time for one, right at the end of the month -- I will never make my goal in time now. I would have to lose 5 lbs in 6 days, and I don't see my scale budging much over the next few days. BUT, at least I have lost 10 lbs this month, so I think that's still pretty good.

Weighed in today very afraid that that my birthday weekend bender would put me over but no gain or loss :carrot: I did very well until Monday night drank a little too many beers and snacked popcorn and crackers very very late...bad sarah bad haha Oh well :carrot: I worked my butt off over the weekend to insure that I'd have no gain and it work still holdfing strong at 212.5 woohoo!! keeping it up for the next few days hoping to see a loss on Friday down 3.5lbs for feb wont make my monthly goal but I'm heading in the right direction :D

Up 0.4 to 251.6 (again) this morning. I am seriously sick of this plateau. No matter what I do, it's not breaking. This is 5 days straight now. More water, less sodium, more exercise, less exercise, more calories, half my calories...UGH! :headache: I was doing so well before! I need a whoosh soon to protect my sanity, lol.

Morning Chicklets,

I was down two pounds this morning for some odd reason--my period is wonky (I'm 44--is this pre-menopause? good riddance TOM, I will say)--but naturally, I am at 150.2 which is decidedly NOT under 150, which was my goal for the month of February (to stay under 150 for the month). Oh well, maybe I'll get there and THEN stay there. But I have a big party month coming up with Mardi Gras in my neighborhood, and then a big beer and oyster fest with out of town guests and lots of frivolity (and great food and lots of drinking).

I did my tag--proud to say I can do 20 military push ups, but only did 10 so as not to show off, lol.

I tag slimlizzie, fauxtini, and dixiemae to 15 frogs squats: squat with your knees and toes pointed out, heels up, fingers on floor in front of you, like a bullfrog ready to jump. Lift your hips to straighten your legs and touch your heels to the floor, keeping your fingers on the floor. Then bend your knees to go back down. Lift from the back of the thighs and hips so you don't kill your quads!

MsP: You have been so dedicated and such a great motivator, and I really want to help ease your burden of keeping track on this thread, but I too am afraid I would let this dissolve with my lack of time to commit. I'm only on once or twice a week also. Can we do a tag team, or is anyone else willing to commit the time? My CSA ends in two weeks, and I will have more time for the following four weeks, but then it starts back up the second week of April and I may disappear again! Let me know if you think we could split up the duties if nobody else steps up.

I've been weighing once/day in the fitness room at the hotel this week. Tuesday night and Wednesday night were stable at around 262 (higher than my scale at home, clearly, because I didn't gain 3 lbs. from Tuesday morning to Tuesday night! though I was wearing clothes and sneakers while weighing in the fitness room), but tonight the scale was down to ~259.5 lbs. Yay! I don't really know how all this will look when I get home this weekend, but at least I'm not gaining while away from home. I'm really happy about that.

I did my tag from fauxtini, and taking a page from her book I'll tag BeLight, doc2b, and dcapulet to do 15-25 touch and go squats (see this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWvJ14cwwKU&NR=1&feature=fvwp).

Keep pushing, everyone - we're almost at the end of the month! :carrot:

Feeling better today. I am still up from the start of the month, but will be going back to WW this coming Monday (finally) after talking about it for a month. I hope that helps to keep me more accountable. I've just been unable to convince myself to eat properly. Finally got a dvd player hooked up in the living room so I can workout in the morning now. I anticipate March being a good turn-around month for me. I'm trying to start now, so I can practice using some self-control by the time this month ends.

Well, I may have broken my plateau finally...scale showed a 2 lb drop from last check-in on this thread, which brings me to 249.6. Buuut, before I get too excited about it, I must admit it's probably partially due to dehydration, as I only got about 3 glasses of water in yesterday, when my body is used to 8-10. So, I'll be checking in tomorrow to see if I stay here or go back up. Either way, I was just happy to see something on the scale other than 251.something for once....lol.

Carved, Louisa and Chickadee - Congrats on your losses, ladies!

BeLight - Yay for the ticker! I just got one a few days ago myself, and it's been nice to finally have that extra added visual. Also, 3 lbs is still 3 lbs gone from your body...at least you're moving in the right direction! ;)

NightAngel - Drink lots of water to help wash out the sodium, and good luck! I'm sure you'll be back on track ASAP.

MsP - Glad you're feeling better. Let us know how WW works out for you...can't wait to see how we all do in March! :)

LouisaH-I forgot to respond to your idea. Yes, if no one can take the thread, then I'm good with sharing it with you. I've finally gotten to the point where I don't feel disoriented with my work schedule. I'm busy, but in a manageable way. Once in a while I can sneak on here at work (like now) and catch up so I'm not so far behind.
Honestly, having nothing but shameful behavior to report doesn't exactly entice me to come here either, but I know I need to report in and get my head on straight AGAIN. Mentally, I'd felt like a yo-yo last month. And, though normally I get inspired by coming here, the last couple months I just felt discouraged and disconnected. I see that turning around now which is very encouraging!

Me I am down .5lb today & 1.5" for the week down 5lbs & 8" for Feburary. 1pound short of my goal and 3 days left...uh I don't think so...not with the partying I'm doing on Saturday uh oh :o I am really going to have to dance my butt off extra hard saturday night & try to stay away from the pub/bar food not sure that is going to happen.
I'm going to get in a extra big work out tonight and tomorrow during the day & cross my fingers haha

My morning weigh-in showed a -0.2 loss to 249.4, which means I maintained what I thought may have been a dehydration whoosh. So, that makes me pretty happy; hopefully this is the restart of my downward trend again! :crossed: However, for this thread, that also means I have 3 lbs even left to lose for my challenge...with only two days left. So, yeah. Don't think I'll be making this one, lol.

I finally got back home from my conference tonight, and when I weighed on my scale I was down to 254.0!! That seems totally impossible to me, and I know I was terrible with my water intake yesterday and today, and so we'll see what the scale looks like over the next few days. I hope some of that loss is real, though... I did really well with my calories and workouts (if not always my nutrition) while away this week, and would love to see a loss stick to my next official weigh-in.

carved - I did the first part of the tag (calf raises), but haven't done the dancing yet. My schedule has been weird the past two days. I will get it done tomorrow!

Official last weigh-in for this challenge puts me right at 249.4 still...so, I was 3.0 lbs short of my goal for the month. But, like I said before, it was a ambitious goal for February, so I'm still happy with the progress I was able to make...12 lbs this month! It would be nice if I'm able to do that again, but I think I will be more realistic with my goals on the March thread...see you all there! :wave:

Last day of the month. I always count tomorrow morning's weight as my end weight for this challenge and start weight for next month's, but I've been under 150 for the past three days so I'm very happy. I'm not very happy that I had to be completely wiped out with the flu to get there. Actually, it was not stomach flu, so my appetite was there, along with TOM, and I didn't eat all that well. I didn't exercise for three days either, so it's probably muscle loss showing up...:rolleyes:

MsP: I did both the jumping jacks (too easy--I do them a lot) AND the squat thrusts, which were not as easy, especially with my still slightly woozy head:dizzy:. I'm tagging everyone to do the duck dance or the macarena, or the electric slide, or whatever ridiculous sort of line dance you can do without having to look it up, and then you have to tag no one!

Okay MsP, how do we tag team on this? I know how you feel about not really wanting to check in so often when you aren't playing the game full-heartedly. That's exactly how I feel. I also get overwhelmed with wanting to do personals, but not having the time, and ending up not writing anything! But hopefully, having a bit of responsibility on here will help me to refocus my energies and get to my goal once and for all. So how can I help? Do we take weeks or what?

Well, I didn't quite make my goal for February. I came up just a bit short.

SW: 215
CW: 207.4
GW: 205

I did lose quite a bit, which I'm pleased with. I just wish I hadn't gotten so sick and that the weather hadn't been such a yo-yo. But I'm hoping I can get to 205 by this Saturday and reach my 195 by April 1st!
