Wow we lost 18 teammates! :(

Great job everybody who posted this week! Lose or gain, keeping accountable is going to help us all long term.

I am going to up my cardio from 3x a week for 30 minutes, to 4x this week for 40 minutes. I'll see if that helps this weight loss move a little faster. I am on a 1250 calorie plan, so I don't want to go lower with that.

Awesome job on being our teams Biggest Loser Narnia!

I can't believe our tem is short so many! Last week was hard for me. I had so much going on in my life, but I am here for the long haul. I have a HUGE amount to lose. I am not focused on that number, but making sure I have a loss every week. I also posted a gain last week. But I know that figure will turn around.

We are all here to support each other, don't turn to food for comfort! Come visit the board, post, vent, read and feel inspired. That helped me turn a negative week into a positive one emotionally. Let's stick together for the BLUE team this week and kick some RED butt!

I'm sorry we lost so many people, but maybe some will come around even though they can't be the "winner" at the end. It is about so much more than just winning anyway!

I am feeling a bit better today, but there is this nagging pit in my stomach because this weekend is going to be so hard. BUT, once it is over and he is officially gone I think it will get easier. I can start dealing with it, healing, and moving forward. So, I'm going to look at it as not all bad.

I gained 1 pound last week, but looking to turn that around with a great number this week. Just got back from the grocery store, loaded up with healthy foods and I am going back to strict calorie counting for awhile. I am an an emotional eater, so I am finding in times of major stress my usual plan doesn't work very well...that 1 pound gain proves it lol

Honestly, I imagine this is the result of a new year's resolution bust. People think they want to lose weight, they pop on, they join, and then they (for whatever reason) don't come back. The important thing is for us to keep kickin it ;-p

I plan to do much better this week. I had two great weeks, one terrible week, one recovery week. Seems to me that that means I'm in for some goodness. Hubby and I are going to take ballroom dancing lessons tonight! I'm super excited, even though I'm about as coordinated as a severely drunken giraffe. It's going to be a private lesson, so at least the only one to see me look like a fool will be him. And he's seen that before.

Hope everyone has a great, OP day. (and may I add that as a gamer, I always read OP as over powered first? I like both meanings for us!)

Well, what can I say? Geeeeeeezz, we got stomped on:dunno:
I think you have a good thought Jacky, lets pool together (what's left of us) and get a inner challenge going. You started a thread to post our food which I started off doing but quit because of poor postings. For awhile it was just the two of us so I joined the Calorie Counters thread of posting my weight. It really helps to keep on track plus seeing what others are eating gives us inspiration to try other foods. Obviously that didn't work over here. I think everyone just has to dig deep down into their being and stop eating junk food. Get it out of the house. Maybe we can start a challenge of posting things we do DAILY to rid our homes of junk food, or temptations that you passed up. Every day lets post something positive we did. If you can't come up with anything, you can go jump on the tread mill, stepper, etc. for 10 minutes. Something extra that you did thats not in your daily routine. What do ya all think? We have to do something and we have to do it NOW!

If anyone wants to post a challange here for everyone to do please feel free to do so. This is our chat thread and we can motivate each other or offer up challanges to see who will all complete them.

Hey ladies.. home early today for a snow day... although the weather seems to have cleared up some now...haha I think it is supposed to get worse again after the noon hour... We haven't had much winter until now.. lol and I think we are now paying for it :p
So... I think we should do a Water challenge... For me water is key to losing and I have been told by someone that they had aimed to drink half of their weight in water throughout each day and that it made all the difference in the world.
So here is my challenge to all of you... Davide your weight in half and aim to drink that many oz. of water each day for all of February.. starting tomorrow till the 28th and see how it works for you all. So for example my weight (and yes this is why i took a freebie due to tom this week)... is now 219 /2 = 109.5, so I will aim to drink 109.5 ounces of water each day starting tomorrow and of course, do not forget to adjust the amount of water you drink per day when you lose any weight! :) I will post here each evening to report how well I have done with keeping with my goal! :) I hope you will join me!
Also, there are many ways to add to your water.. slices of oranges, lemons, strawberries, even cucumbers are so refreshing in a glass of ice water!

I'm all for a mini challenge! I already drink a ton of water so I'll continue to do that, I think where I lack is exercise.. I just don't make time for it. I was trying to work out at least 3 x's a week but now it's gone down to once a week so I'm still sticking to my plan 100% and drinking my water but I'm losing super slow (like .4-.6) a week now becuase of lack of exercise, so does anyone want to start some kind of exercise challenge? I need a big push in the right direction :)

PageLynn
01-31-2011, 01:01 PM
My challenge at least for myself (maybe for you to spryng) to get in cardio (at least 20 min) everyday (or maybe 6 days). I need to get cardio at least everyday because otherwise I think my weight loss is stalling. I only lost 4 pounds this month :( . I know that is good but I wanted more. At least 5lbs a month. I am gonna monitor my water intake but I think I drink plenty at least 80 oz.

I have been thinking ladies.. how about a Winter Challenge...?
W - water intake
I - (insert self affirmation here).. I am beautiful, I can do this
N - Nutrition, just state whether or not you've had a good or bad day with food
T - time for you.. state something you have done just for you today
E - Exercise, state what you have done for exercise, or just if you did anything
R - Rest, state whether or not you got enough sleep the night before

And each day when we come to post we can just post our "Winter" in our chat post either before or after, does not have to be long or over explained, just simple...

How does that sound for an all encompassing challenge for those of us interested each day?

Maybe we can start a challenge of posting things we do DAILY to rid our homes of junk food, or temptations that you passed up
I just passed up one temptation. My husband baked pizza. It was not my meal time, and the calories from it would mess up the rest of my day, not to mention they wouldn't be nutritious calories. I must say as time goes by, it's getting easier and easier to say no.

Davide your weight in half and aim to drink that many oz. of water each day for all of February.. starting tomorrow till the 28th and see how it works for you all.
I am going to start trying this today. I usually get around 80oz of water, so 123 ounces is going to be a real challenge, but I am going to give it a go! I am interested to see what happens.

@Lily good luck with the dance lessons, I am sure it will be fun! My husband agreed to take lessons with me, but I haven't been brave enough yet hehe

@Purple, I can't imagine what you are going through, but you seem like a very strong woman, and I admire that.

@spryng For a challenge, we could all make a goal to do a little bit more than we did last week, or something? That's what I am planning to do. Maybe you could try to get those 3 days in a week that you were trying for before. Whatever you put your mind to, you can do!

@Cape, that winter challenge seems interesting, I'm in to try it out

The red team has a lot of cheerleaders over there. I think we need some more over here! Get out your pompoms teammates :cheer3: lets cheer each other on! We can beat them this week. We got stomped, lets stomp back! :cheer3::cheer3::cheer3::cheer3::cheer3:

@ Angela- I love this idea! Here's mine:

W - Water: I will drink 100 oz of water a day- roughly 1/2 my weight. So far I'm at 20 oz, so I need to pick it up!
I - I am strong, strong enough to not give up
N - Nutrition:OP so far- egg whites fr breakfast, taco salad for lunch, goin out for hubby's b-day and already picked out my food: Carne Asada steak from chili's guiltless grill and grilled veggies on the side
T - time for me... played dress up to pick out my dancin' clothes!
E - Exercise: Dancin tonight!
R - Rest: This one is more meh- the hubby was feeling sick and coughing all night, so I kept waking up. But I tried, and I got to sleep in a little this morning.

@coco- I will report back to you on scariness! This place we're going to had a great intro deal ($20) for a beginner private lesson, and I think it's the private part that really sold us. We'll see if we have the courage for group lessons or not later ;-p

Hey team! I'm back from Vegas, left all my money in the casinos and ate way too much. On the brightside I got plenty of exercise. Its been about 6 years since I've been there and its amazing how much things have changed. I'm glad to be back home and ready to focus on my healthy eating and exercise.

Coco-I agree we need our own cheerleaders

Cape-I think the WINTER challenge is great. In previous BL challenges they sometimes had these mini challenges and they helped me a great deal.

Page-You can do it!! :carrot:

spryng-I'm up for a exercise challenge

MamaP- I like the new pic. As for weight loss you get em this week!

Lily-Ballroom dancing, how fun!!

Purple-I know all to well about stress eating. Stay strong, things are rough now, but things will get better. Just remember we are all here for you.

Bobbi-I've been to Mille Lacs, it is very nice there.

Mary-Congrats on the weightloss and the size 10 jeans.

Good afternoon everyone! I think the WINTER challenge is a great idea. I have only been able to post a couple of times during the week. I will do my best to post more often.

I am home today with a sick daughter. She missed three days of school last week and the doctor said she just had a viral cold. Well over the weekend she got worse. So we were back at the doctor this morning and now she has a double ear infection and a sinus infection.

Hopefully I will be better OP this week. I am really going to try and plan my meals every day!

Have a great week!

Hi everyone,
I have to apoligise I messed up with the results it should have said maryshady with the -2.4lbs and the -1.49% loss I wrote the numbers down right and the names wrong so sorry about that and Congratulations to mary for making the list.

Narnia I have you down as still 2 Freebies I made a mistake on my written form. So many changes yesterday it was hard to keep up.

I think the winter challange is a good idea, as far as a seperate thread we used to do that but then it got harder to find the chat threads in among the other threads so I say we should post it here. If anyone wants to PM those who are not posting in the chat thread feel free. I'm not able to make that kind of committment right now.

I know I'm making mistakes and not posting like I should right now. Big changes happening at home and I really need to focus on that right now. Once the house goes on the market it should get better. If anyone wants me to step down as leader and if someone else wants to take over as I seem to be negelcting my duties and messing up I won't be offened. Sorry I didn't forsee any big changes in my life before I took this on again. It should get better in the next couple weeks but if you want to pick someone else I'll pass on the info they need to do it.
Thanks

It's nice to see so many people posting their ideas for the team. I get motivation from reading what everyone is doing.

Jacky, personally I think you are doing a great job! Everyone makes mistakes so don't feel bad. I don't want you to step down as our leader.

Mary - Thanks :) It's the first time ever that I've been the BL so I am very excited.

Purplefirefly - I'm sorry for everything you are going through. You sound like a strong woman, and you will get through this. Good for you for getting right back to calorie counting.

Angela - I love the Winter challenge idea! I'm in.

Cocoloco - Great job passing on the pizza :cp:

Glenda - I hope your daughter is feeling better soon.

Dream - welcome back :) Glad you had a good trip!

Have a great day!

Jacky! Don't you dare do any such thing.. you are a wonderful leader and I know I am not just speaking for myself when I say that you do an amazing job! I know it is difficult at times and life gets in the way.. when I was leader I had those moments lots of times when I felt I just wasn't able to give my all.. and eventually I wasn't able to continue when I went through too many losses to handle life all that well... and when I turned it all over to you I was so happy to know that it was you taking over because I knew it would be in the best of hands! So please do not feel anyone wants you to step down as I know NO ONE does, please do not feel as though you are being judged in that way, because it is only the opposite.. everyone thinks the world of you and appriciates to the hundredth degree everything you do to keep this challenge going! :val1:

W - drank 60oz, today.. little short so far... will try for more this evening
I - I am capable of handling anything with the grace of God
N - I have done okay nutrition wise today.. with a little snack attack this afternoon...stormy days are bad for that..lol
T - I spend the afternoon curled up with a great book,, "the Rescue" by Nicolas Sparks.. soo good!
E - sadly the only exercise I have gotten today was trudging through the snow to and from work.. with wind as weight resistance lol
R - I had a great sleep last night.. in bed by 8:30, asleep by 9:15 and up at 5:30 this morning :o)

I - God has a plan for me and I need to trust in Him.
N - So far I have a ton of calories left for the day I need to eat more just don't feel hungry
T - took the time to exercise
E - 85 minutes total! Zumba = 60 min and The Firm = 25 min

Hey there Blue Buddies!!!
Well, that was a rough week, for all of us, as well as myself. I ate POP every day except one - in which I ate 1900+ calories, but all of "good" nutritious foods, and I end up losing just .2! Plus the bladder infection and coming down with a mild flu (the sore throat part of which had me eating more just to soothe my throat - I know, comfort eating again:rollpin:) But . . . as for the rest of the challenge, I'm in it to win it - not me, but our team. I don't truly believe I can be the biggest loser, but I'm willing to try. I, too need to get moving more. I know I'm not doing the right thing by only dieting and drinking a lot of water. It takes the full 3 legs of the stool.
Sorry to see so many drop out/be removed but that happens every challenge and like Lily said, it probably has a lot to do with New Year's fervor dying out.
Saw the doctor today, got some more antibiotics and pain pills but I have been good food wise - 960 so far and it 7pm so its looking good. Tomorrow will be a busy day, co-facilitating the Grief Share class (2 classes one at 2 and one at 6) but Wednesday, I'm back onto my WATP dvd. Last week, I did a mile and its a four mile program, so I'm going to work my way up to that. I'd like to do something more agressive, but my knee is just now without pain and I don't want to chance it getting injured.

W - water has been 40 oz plus green tea, but should be 120, so that's a new goal
I - I am in this for the long haul.
N - Good high fiber breakfast, resisted brownies and cookies, eating out had chicken enchilada (nothing else)
T - Read part of "The Fight" by ??White, a really good guide to Christian living
E - Ah, the chink in my armor - Wednesday, really!
R - Laid down due to illness for about an hour, so that's rest, right?

Hang in there chickies!!!! and congratulations to our winners!!! Inspirational!!!:cheer3:

Narnia, Angela, CocoLoco thank you for your support. I was having a tough day and I just feel bad I'm not on here as often as I should be but I guess we all go through days like this. It's already better and with any luck the house will sell, my internet will work when I need to be on here, and I will get back on track by tomorrow.:)

Looks like you are taking to the winter challange early so kudos to all of you for that:carrot::carrot::carrot: I will start tomorrow and see how it goes one day at a time. Wow that's a lot of water some of you have to drink. It's funny I was just talking with my mom today and she was reading where they said to drink half your weight. She is not sure how she could drink that much....I don't know how she could either. If I had to drink 8L I would just live in the bathroom. No time for job or life I would just pee all day long. Good luck to all of you. Mind you for me when I drink my 4L I have to run up a flight of stairs to go so I always call that my exercise routing for the day.

Dora - don't discount the WATP DVD's it's amazing on the go wear fit how many calories those workouts burn. They are an awesome workout.

Mercy - Hello glad to see you here you have been very quite this time around. I hope everything is okay with you and with your mom.

Well I guess I should head off to bed now and I will talk to you all tomorrow.

W - 64 oz.
I - I pushed myself with my workout today, and it felt good!
N - Nutrition was good today. 1605 calories.
T - Time = Had a long, hot bubble bath once my children went to bed.
E - Exercise = Stairmaster, Abs, Floor work exercises and a long stretch routine = 72 mins.
R - Rest. Didn't sleep well last night.

Hi all!

So, dance classes were awesome! We are totally, terribly uncoordinated, so we were going kinda slow, but the instructor was very welcoming and we had a ton of fun. There were some awkward moments, like when the male instructor stated firmly to my husband that he wasn't gay and if he had to touch DH it was going to be only to improve his form. That kinda made me wonder if they've had problems in the past? We were both like, umm, ok dude, whatever? We told him we wanted to start with something slow, and he was like, well, but what kind of dance were you interested in? And of course, my man, being Latin, said he'd like to learn to salsa EVENTUALLY. So what did we do last night? Worked on salsa =D

So they convinced us to sign up for 2 months of classes and private lessons! After that we're probably just going to do one or the other. I'm so excited to have something for DH and I to do together that involves getting a little dressed up and going out. Our other shared hobby is World of Warcraft, so this, I feel, is a step up... Also, I think we'll do this for kinda cardio (we're still so basic it's not really cardio yet) and then do some free weights at home to start getting workouts in...

This is for yesterday:
W - Water: Only made it to about 80 oz. Which, if I were goal weight would be good... Gonna work harder on this one today
I - I am strong, strong enough to not give up
N - Nutrition:Was totally OP, tho the chili's has me up just a tad this morning on the scale- all the salt I think
T - time for me... Went dancing! I am officially hooked- wear pretty clothes, hold my love, and get a little work out? Sign me up!
E - Exercise: See above =D
R - Rest: Got a pretty good night's sleep

Yesterday I drank 128oz of water. I think I burned quite a few calories walking back and forth to the bathroom. haha I am going to try to keep it up the rest of the week, and see if it helps with my weigh in.

dream - It sounds like you had a great time in Vegas, kudos for keeping up with exercise!

Dora - I hope you start feeling better soon.

Bigmid - We certainly all do have tough days, I'm glad to hear you're doing a little better. I wish you luck with selling the house, that must be extremely stressful.

Lily - It sounds like your dance lesson was really fun. You'll have to let us know how the group lessons go! I think when I finally get brave enough to take a class, I'll start out with private lessons just to get the basics down.

Mama P - It's not too late to be a loser this week.. You can do it! :cheer3:

Rainbow - you are really motivating, your team is lucky to have you! You did kick our butts, but we wont give up!

Hey everyone.. I hope everyone is having a good day... I am exhausted and preparing for a huge winter storm.. or storms to hit.. supposed to be two over the next 48hrs, with a possible accumulation of 45 - 60cm of snow with high winds... I really hope it is not all that bad but they are saying that everyone should be prepared with flashlights and food..just in case. Today was a crazy busy day of office work today at work, and I have got to learn to just stop for 5 min to go get water or a snack... because today equalled a huge FAIL...when I would think okay you need water I would get distracted and before I knew it it was 5oclock in the afternoon and I had been going since 7am, I did have Kashi Go Lean cereal and a coffee for breakfast and a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch, but that was about it.. then once I got home had a complete snack attack n now feel blagh! sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lol have to get more organized and have supper ready for when I get home!

W- fail... :(
I - I will succeed
N - somewhat okay... ending in a fail..
T - I came here to post.. :) and will do a daily devotional before bedtime
E - Fail...:(
R - I slept 7hrs. last night

Tomorrow is a new day!

Hey everyone. I haven't posted in awhile.
Last week was kinda rough with some marital problems, hopefully they're solved now! I did alright on weight loss last week.
I'm starting to receive comments on how I look now that I've lost weight. I feel good about myself, but I'm very nervous too. Usually when people start to notice in my head it's like im giving myself permission to slide a little with what I eat. This is how I fall off the wagon. I know today I did not really overeat, but I did eat more than usual and had a few bites of a cake that now I feel guilty for. I feel very full from dinner and am worrying that I won't lose anything this week, even though I'm still working out. Any advice on how to not give in once people have noticed your weight loss? It's been a whole month, I feel like I want to eat more like I used to which I shouldnt. I think part of me gets afraid to succeed with weight loss. I always end up gradually picking up my bad habits. I need some advice!

Hi just a quick check in I need to go to sleep now. I'll be back tomorrow to post. I had a bad eating day today. Started off with great intention then went out to lunch and that blew the rest of the day/night all to heck. I took my lunch and then forgot a customer was taking me to lunch for helping her out. So here's to an OP day tomorrow. I did get in 11 out of 16 glasses of water. Going for all 16 for the rest of the week.

Morning Blue Team! My day yesterday was all out of whack. I woke up late, so I had breakfast way late. I didn't have any snacks at all, but I had 3 cups of coffee >.< The coffee came back to bite me last night, I couldn't sleep at all. Well, that might have been coffee or stress. I just couldn't stop thinking about stuff (work) all night. I did manage to stay OP (other than the coffee and no snacks), but My whole day was off by about 4 hours.

On the bright side, the scale was moving in the right direction today! 203 =D I've been stuck at 204 for almost a week now, so it was great to see a move down! It also puts me at an even 5% lost, which makes me really happy. Now I'm just looking forward to getting under 200 for good, and then it's on to the big goals.

This is for yesterday:
W - Water: Didn't do so hot at water again- see the 3 cups of coffee issue
I - I am strong, strong enough to not give up
N - Nutrition:OP, though very off from my normal schedule
T - time for me... Listened to some music before bed
E - Exercise: None, but Tuesday is a 13 hour day for me, so I never plan any
R - Rest: Well, better luck next time on this one. I tried.

Good morning team :)
So far this week is going well. I know I have a long way to go to reach my goal, but I am really feeling determined and motivated to actually do it this time.

Lily, that's great that you and your husband enjoyed the dance lesson and signed up for more. Congratulations on having the scale move down :cheer2:

Coco, wow 128 oz of water, that's awesome! WTG :cp:

Mercy, it's nice to "see" you :)

Angela, I've been hearing a lot about the storms on the news. Stay safe!

I always end up gradually picking up my bad habits. I need some advice!

I know exactly what you mean. It's such a vicious cycle! The one time that I managed to reach my goal and keep it off, (before my injury), the thing that made the difference for me was to continually remind myself of what I truly wanted, and that I wouldn't be satisfied until I reached my goals. Also, I was very conscious of how good I was feeling when I was exercising consistently and choosing healthy meals & snacks. I think that that constant self talk really helped me to stay focussed. Personally, I know I start to backslide when I pay too much attention to negative, self- doubting inner thoughts.

For Tuesday:
W - 64 oz.
I - I am determined!
N - Nutrition was good.
T - Time for me = read a book for 30 mins before bed.
E - Weights for 29 mins.
R - Slept well

Have a great day everyone!

Hi I'm just on lunch break so dropping by to let you know I'm eating my packed lunch:)
Water has been so-so but I'm trying. Feeling very tired today for some reason. I think itmight be from all the crap that Ive been eating so hopefully after a few clean days I'll be back to some sort of normal.

I just private mailed 25 of the Blue team to see if they'd like to join us here on the Winter Challenge. Hope we don't lose anymore.

I - I have lots of will power
N - Nutrition, 871 calorie (so far) + 41 gram fiber

E - Exercise: 10 minutes of agony on stepper (that's all my knees can take)

Bobbi, you rock! That was a lot of people to mail! :cp: WTG on the stepper too! :cheer3:

Kelsey - I don't have any advise, because I haven't kept weight off long term.. but congrats on people noticing!! Just remember if you have cake, or something off plan, it doesn't mean your day, or diet is ruined. You can turn it around right then, you don't have to wait until tomorrow to get back on plan.

:congrat: Lily on making 203, great job!

For Tuesday:

Hi all you True Blues:

Doing pretty well, still trying lots of recipes from Kalyn's Kitchen, they are so tasty. :stir: And even though some get a CalorieCount grade of C or even D, I'm still on plan and hitting most of my nutrient goals. Healthy eating is what its about and what I've heard repeatedly here and elsewhere - it's about a lifestyle change - something you can live with forever.:soap:

W - 50 oz.
I - I appreciate my team mates
N - OP
T - perusing new recipes online at leisure
E - 2 miles WATP - see, I kept my promise!
R - Good 7.5 hrs - even had dreams I remember (that of course made no sense!)

Congratulations to those who are seeing new low numbers and getting noticed. Definitely inspirational!!!:bravo:

Kalyn's Kitchen is fantastic. Hubs and I eat almost exclusively from those recipes some weeks. My favorites are:
Balsamic and Onion Pot Roast
Baked Chicken with Curry Sauce
Tomorrow I'm gonna try her Pulled Pork and I'm super excited.

All her recipes are for South Beach Diet, and while they work well for other ways of eating too, you have to remember that SBD has specific nutritional goals that might or might not fit with what you want. For example, the chicken in curry sauce is probably quite a bit higher in fat (it has mayo and sour cream in large amounts) than some would want. I just pair it with some roasted broccoli, which I cook at the same time, and call it good.

And that roast is freakin awesome. I'd issue a team challenge to go try it ;-p

Yesterday was kinda meh. We haven't gotten the snowpocalypse here in NC, but it has been gray and dreary all week, and it's starting to get to me. I don't think I've seen the sun since last Saturday. Reminds me of the study abroad I spent in Russia...

This is for yesterday:
W - Water: Check and Check! all 100 oz. Assuming flavored water counts
I - I am strong, strong enough to not give up
N - Nutrition:Totally OP, though I was a bit low on veggies. Or food in general actually.
T - time for me... I tried to watch Top Chef last night, but I fell asleep before the Quickfire was over. So, I slept through my time for me >.< At least it's Tivo'd
E - Exercise: Well, I hiked all over campus, does that count?
R - Rest: Obviously. Since I slept through Top Chef =(

Hello Blue Team! I've been MIA for a few days. I spent the early part of the week preparing for the blizzard and just now finished digging out! We got 2' of snow and with the 50-70 mph winds, we had some major drifts. The snow was 5' deep in front of our garage door and front door! Then I had to dig out more 3'-4' drifts in our chicken pens. Needless to say my exercise for Tues, Wed and today was shoveling snow!

Shoveling was really bad this morning since it was -1 deg but felt like -17 with the wind chill. Right now I am just focused on getting warm again!!!

I didn't eat the greatest the past couple of days but today I am getting back on track!

Doesn't look like anyone wanted to take us up on the challenge offer. I'm thinking we can turn the loss of the Blue team members (Those that have been eliminated)into an advantage. Wouldn't our percentages get higher with just the folks left that really do want to lose. I don't know how the percentages work with the freebies, but with a strong team that's left, we should be able to rise our % higher than last week's of 19%.
I did get a return private message from River, she will join when she gets home. Tytbody said she was going to check us out.

W - water intake 1/2 my weigh = 62 oz. I drank much more.
I - I have lots of will power, made DH some gooey caramel pecan sweet rolls and didn't eat any. I'm not going to either:carrot:
N - Nutrition, 751 calorie (so far) + 38 gram fiber
T - time for me.. I do Bible studies every morning, then read a few chapters in my mystery book.
E - Exercise: 5 minutes in am and 5 minutes pm on stepper (that's all my knees can take)
R - I had restless legs syndrome last night but still managed about 7 hours.

Great job on the posting of the winter challenge everyone. Bobbi don't feel bad about not everyone answering or chatting. This is what always happens. Your right the ones that are still here make this team strong. We will all win this challange just by finishing it.

Well - we're doing pretty good keeping up with the WINTER challenge.:cp: It does help me to remain accountable to my team. Still losing, seem to be doing better by eating more. Honestly. When I go below 1500 calories, I stand still or go up. When I'm closer to 1500 - I lose. Go figure. I am trying to get more protein and fiber into the mix, plus the water so that's probably helpful too. Man, Bobbi, you really get the fiber, must keep you . . . uh . . . busy.

Ha Ha Dora, that's my secret key to losing weight. I don't know how that much fiber would affect you or other Blue team members but with me, it was built up gradually and I've had no ill effects at all. I get approx. 19 grams at breakfast and it keeps me full until lunch. Sometimes I'm not even hungry at noon which is why I only eat about 12oz of homemade tomato soup at lunch time. I do munch on carrots and celery with peanut butter sauce (using PB2) in the afternoons but then eat a normal supper. Since I don't eat a protein at noon, I usually eat as much meat as I want and still have plenty of calories left over for night time snacks. I'm way short of calories rather than being over my calorie limit. Sometimes at night I'll eat a teaspoon-Tablespoon of olive oil to get my calories up. . Man, Bobbi, you really get the fiber, must keep you . . . uh . . . busy.

Jacky...with so much on your mind, I can see why you lost your mojo. My DH and I attend a meditation class, my DH has a mind that never turns off. He is learning through just 15 minutes of meditation, he can stop thinking of things he has to do, things that need to be done, the future things that might or might not crop up. It's very hard for him and I'm thinking your mind isn't resting very much. Find your mojo anywhere you can. Do you have support in your home or from friends. (other than the Blue Team) I don't know if your're married, have kids?
I'll be back later with my W.I.N.T.E.R. Dh is waiting for me to pack a lunch for him, he's off for a scouting trip for a new place to hunt deer.
Later........

Honestly, I kinda feel like the smack talk is unproductive, at least for me. If I had a hard week at work (which I did week 2) and that lead to a gain (which it did week 2), having someone make me feel bad about how the team is doing isn't going to make me feel better, especially when I already feel bad about now having to re-lose the weight I gained. But that's just my two cents.

On a happier note, my hubby and I had a fantastic tomato soup for lunch, and I thought I would share. The original is here (http://www.food.com/recipe/fire-roasted-tomato-soup-292016), but I made some changes, so here they are:

2 small yellow onions, sliced
2 cans fire-roasted tomatoes
7 oz turkey kielbasa
1 heaping tbs minced garlic
3/4 can chicken stock (more if you like it soupy)
1 tbs oregano
1 tsp rosemary
1 tsp basil

Saute onion and garlic in skillet til soft. Add to small pot with tomatoes, stock, and seasonings. Raise heat to medium and simmer 10 min. While soup is simmering, slice kielbasa into small pieces and brown slightly in skillet. Using either an immersion blender or transferring soup to a blender, blend soup to desired amount of chunkyness. Once soup is blended, add kielbasa.

It was souper good (see what I did there?) It's kinda a light lunch, but I think with the kielbasa it will tide us over nicely at least until an afternoon snack.

(this is for yesterday)
W- check! all 100oz
I- I am strong enough to do this
T- not much of this...
E- Full contact house cleaning?
R- and how!

Hi Team,
I am so happy for the losers! Congrats! Blue Team. I have not been on here for close to a week! Why? A ton of excuses, non of them valid!. The truth is, I feel like I can post only when I am doing okay. When I am not doing the things that are right for me, I want to hide; I just "ignore" everything. Of course, ignoring things, goes WAY beyond my physical health. It colors everything I do.

So it's February. My new years resolution was to stop just that, so I am posting as a matter of accountability.
I am SO sorry, Blue, but I am going to post a gain this week. Unfortunately, I need to post it, because using a freebie will just let me ignore it for another week. I know everyone has worked so hard, and I promise this next week will be a loss, even if it is a small one.
OH! and I LOVE the WINTER challenge, and will be joining in.

T - time for you.. Not today either

Yesterday was a great day! I got a job offer I was hoping for. I have been very miserable at my current job so I am looking forward to making a change! But there is a huge downfall. I will not have an office. I will be traveling to different nursing homes each day. So I will be on the road alot. How am I even remotely going to be able to stay OP? Anyone else travel for work?

Sorry I haven't been able to keep up with personals. It's been a weird week.

W - I don't know the exact amount, but it's all I've been drinking today.
I - I may be having a terrible challenge week, but other parts of my life are going pretty good. For instance, I just saved a possum's life a little while ago. ;)
N - Bad day so far, food wise. But dinner/further snacks will be healthy.
T - I wrote another chapter in my book.
E - Dancing while doing chores count?
R - I went to bed at a decent time and my hubby let me sleep really late since the kids had an "icy conditions day".

Hey Blues, sorry I haven't been around much this week. The first couple of days, I ate out 2X and didn't make very healthy choices. :o But I'm back on track now and have been good since Wednesday. And I've worked out 3 days for around 45 minutes, so hopefully that will cancel my bad eating. :)

Here's my "winter" from yesterday

W - about 85oz
I - I'm back on track
N - Very good, except for a few chips at lunchtime
T - watched some TV this morning before my workout
E - 45 min, 15 cardio, 30 weight-training
R - about 7 hours, cat woke my up early. :)

W - 64 oz. water, done
I - I have lots of will power
N - Well under 1200 calories.
T - time for me.. I do Bible studies every morning, then read a few chapters in my mystery book.
E - Exercise: No exercises today. Our church congregation take turns cleaning the church, today I went in to clean the two kitchens/floors and someone waxed the floors and left a message to not walk on it. I was going to use that for my exercise but will have to use that for tomorrow instead.
R - Rest: 8 hours
I had a fantastic day, DH was off scouting for new deer hunting places and I had the house to myself. We have lots of frozen tomatoes in our freezer to make low calorie soup with. I spent way too much time on the computer looking for new recipes. I found one using tomatoes, celery, carrots, garlic, basil, chicken broth and a surprise ingredient..........Balsamic vinegar. It turned out really delicious, only 80 calories per 8 oz. bowl.
2 cans of pumpkin have been sitting in the pantry since Thanksgiving, today I cooked 1 package of sugar free vanilla pudding with skim milk and 1/2 can of the pumpkin, 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice.
I've made this before, it's low calorie and a great way to use up those extra cans of pumpkin. It made 6 desserts @ 52 calories each. Or you can put it into 4 servings at 78 each. Have a great evening everyone and think skinny if you have to weigh in tomorrow.

@Bobbi. That sounds like a great dessert recipe, I'll have to try it. I'm always looking for some tasty desserts that are low cal/lowcarb, because we love our desserts here. I posted a tomato soup earlier in this thread (I think on pg 5), but it may be too high cal, since it has kielbasa in it. Still, clearly we were on the same page today!

Hope everyone's having a great day. I just cleaned my room and vacuumed the floor, so I'm thinking of maybe doing some yoga tonight =D I have a very hairy dog, so normally I don't want to get my face too close ;-p

If any of you have time to cook from scratch, check out Bitsys Kitchen, she has a great site and many scratch mixes you can make yourself instead of buying boxed mixes.
Good Night everyone, have a great week-end.

Has anyone tried Jorge Cruise's, The Belly Fat Cure? I saw him on Rachael Ray the other day, so I did some research and it sounds like a good plan. I've been following it for about 3-4 days and so far I like it. Anyway, I was just curious if anyone else is or has been on his plan?

Bobbi - I am going to check out Bitsy's Kitchen, thanks for the tip.
Glenda - congratulations on your new job!
Nancy - great job with your exercise :cheer3:
Lily - thanks for posting the tomato soup recipe. I love tomato soup so I am going to try it out.
reji - congratulations on your new low weight. You are so close to your goal - way to go :cheer2:
vdander - I can relate to wanting to hide and ignore everything when things aren't going well. I'm glad you came and posted. Don't worry about your gain for this week, you'll have a good number next week :)

W - 68 oz
I - I'm motivated by reading everyone's posts
N - Good today
T - The usual, bubble bath
E - Cardio 36 mins, weights 28 mins, abs, 8 mins and stretch 4 mins
R - Slept really well last night.

E - Exercise - 20 min strength training

Hi there my true blue buddies!

Earlier today, I posted a message that defended the Red Team, that they weren't all about smack down BS, but then I went and looked for myself. I, too, am disappointed. So, I gave my response. You can view it over on the Red Team chat if you like. Needless to say, I removed the post defending them :?:

I'm doing pretty well, inching up on a 2# loss, but my weight goes up and down so we'll see Sunday for sure. I'm on my 3rd day in a row doing 2 miles on WATP, so I'm pleased with that.

W - only 60 oz.
I - I like the spirit of my team:hug:
N - OP and feel comfortably full
T - pretty mellow day
E - WATP 2 miles
R - Good sleep with dreams which I love

A couple more days . . . . looking forward to a good showing team, hang in there!!!:grouphug:

Doragone- It's a friendly competition. Nothing is being posted in mean spirited way. Many of our ladies have come on to post for support to help push the blue team along.

Blue Team- Keep up the good work. Although there are two different teams, we are all in this together to make a lifestyle change and make it work for years to come. Call yourself blue, I'll call myself red, but in the end hopefully we will all be LOSERS!!

Hello everyone!

This week has been a busy week and I havent been busy posting but I have been following my WW propoints plan. I did a Zumba class with a new instructor. It was HARD but heaps of fun! On a 42 degree celsius evening I even went to my personal training session in the park. I took 5 water bottles and drank 3 during the hour class. The trainer saw how committed I was and appreciated that I still turned up.

I am on track for this week, now to keep the momentum going. I am going to go and read back about the WINTER posts that I see everyone posting.

Catch up with you all later,

peanutt

Hey Blue Team! Nothing in this competition has been posted in a mean spirited way. It's a fun, friendly competition where hopefully we'll all win by losing. Members coming over here to post have done so to try and push everyone along on this journey.

We're not all smack down BS. We're a team that's posting together and motivating each other to stay accountable and be as successful as possible.

Good luck this week, Blue Team! In the entire challenge we've all lost over 420lbs already....amazing! Let's keep adding to that number together.

Dear Dora & other Blues who have been bothered by perceived "smack talk,"

This is a friendly competition, but we ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!!! Can we focus on the fact that as a whole group our Blue & Red team combined has already lost just over 420 pounds and that doesn't count tomorrow's weigh-in? That's just amazing!

When I first joined in this competition I was dubious. Now, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't come on to read posts because there are so many fine ladies who inspire me. The greatest motivator of all is Rainbow and I know she inspires you too!

You know what, I'm 54 years old and I haven't felt this competitive since I was in my 20's. I didn't intend any of the comments to be mean spirited, but I do kind of like the feeling of competition again. If it helps me or any of you drop another 10, 30, 50 pounds then bravo! We'll hug it out in the end!

Have a great day ladies, great last chance workouts, great weigh-in, and try to avoid the bad super bowl food that's bound to tempt us all tomorrow!

Peace!

Good morning BLUE TEAM!!!!

Wow, I've been away for a bit and I see that some feathers have been ruffled between the two teams while I was gone. I hope that I have done nothing to fluff anyone's feathers or hurt any feelings. I jut want both teams to kick butt and reach their goals! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Narnia...so what's his plan about? Glad it's working for you. Sometimes it's wise to change your plans to keep from hitting the dreaded Plateaus'.Jorge Cruise's, The Belly Fat Cure?
I have bags under my eyes today, couldn't get to sleep until after midnight, dog woke me at 6 to go out. I just got back from the church, got my exercise in there washing the kitchen floor, general cleaning. My fingernails look terrible, somebody left the water over the sprayer dripping and it took AJax, steel wool pads and a razor blades to get it all off.
W - 64 oz. water, done
I - I have found many new friends on the "Biggest Losers' challenge.
N - Well under 1200 calories.
T - time for me.. I do Bible studies every morning, then read a few chapters in my mystery book.
E - Exercise: Good work out at church
R - Rest: 5.5 hours:shrug:
I don't usually post on Sundays, my day off. I'll post my weight and save personals for Monday. Have a great week-end everyone and good luck on your weigh-ins.

Hi guys, just a quick check in. I used a carpet cleaner on my floors that, I discovered, I am severely allergic to. Not a chest-closing, dying kind of an allergic, but a nose completely clogged, sinus headache from hades kind of allergic. I feel terrible and I used it on my whole carpet, so there's no escape. The worst part is it was just a deoderizer, so I was trying to do something nice and extra to make the house extra nice. And it smacked me in the face >.<

Anyway.

@Narnia, I hope you like the soup! If you don't, lie to me! No, j/k....

Weighing in tomorrow, right in the middle of TOM, but nothing I can do about that I guess. I just hope I can breathe tomorrow. I already canceled our follow up dance class cause I feel so terrible =(

Hi Everyone!

I've been so busy that I haven't been able to get over to this thread lately. Since switching back to the Momentum Plan I lost 4lbs and am really excited that I have only 8lbs to go before reaching 100lbs lost!!

As soon as I get my sick kiddos to bed I'll start the WINTER challenge =D Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!

W - I must admit, I'm terrible when it comes to drinking water but I'm going to try to get more in everyday. The only time I really drink it is when I'm at the gym.
I - I have gotten this far and will push myself harder this week. I only have 8lbs to go until I reach 100lbs lost and I am extremely focused right now.
N - I have tracked faithfully for 2 solid weeks. Trying now to use my extra weekly points but I've been using a few extra everyday.
T - Today I went to a nice little coffee shop and studied for a huge exam I'm taking next week. My husband took our 3 kiddos and did fun things with them so I could have time to myself.
E - I exercise pretty much everyday for at least 2 hours, I even walked 4 miles OUTSIDE and it was the day we had the major snow storm here in MI. I went to the gym today only to find it was closed due to the severe weather. Tomorrow I plan on getting there early and staying for 2 hours.
R - Since it's the weekend I didn't get much sleep last night. I went to bed at 1:30am and had to be up at 7am to get my daughter off to basketball and my boys to their hockey practices.

Good morning fellow bluesers. Sorry I have been MIA for most of the week. Was having some health problems this week. Seems somehow I have gotten a cold weather injury on my toes (ie frostbite) w/o being outside for any extended period of time. Very painful. I went to see a podiatrist but I am def going to see my primary. The pod didn't seem too worried about it but he did say my capillaries in my toes are filling up fast enough with blood. Well that worries the heck out of me. I want to know why? kwim? Anyway I move to the second part of my protocol today so I can add back in some healthy fats and more cals each day. So excited. My weight loss will slow down now but I am ok with that. I will get back to losing weight soon enough. Hoping for about a 1/2-1 lb a week now. Have an awesome Super Sunday!! Don't eat too much! lol!:D

Glad your new plan is working out for you!!! Congrats on being so close to the 100 lb mark! I know how difficult it seemed when I had 50 to lose. So proud of you :carrot::carrot::carrot:

I was thinking the same thing when I finally got on here to read this morning. I do believe it is all in good fun and it is a competition after all. Let's all motivate each other to be the best we can be!! :D

HEY GUYS! I switched to the momentum weight watchers plan on wednesday and already I am down to 194.6!!! YAY! I feel like now I am on a roll and will be able to contribute more to on team loss! I'll do WINTER tonight.

WooHoo!!! So glad to hear your plan is working out so well!:carrot:

Hi Team, I am so happy for the losers! Congrats!

Glad you finally decided to join. This is my 5th challenge and the past two are the only ones I have lost a significant amount of weight. The others I guess I just wasn't ready but you know what? It kept me accountable and I didn't gain weight. I stayed relatively the same thru all three maybe up or down a few lbs. My teammates were always supportive and that helped me get to where my frame of mind is today. HTH:hug:

Happy Friday!

:congrat::congrat: on the new job. I would say buy one of those small hand held coolers and plan, plan, plan, and then pack, pack, pack. This way you are always in control of what you have to eat when you need to eat it. That is one thing my plan has taught me is to always be thinking and planning ahead so I have just what I need to succeed.

Sorry I haven't been able to keep up with personals. It's been a weird week..
Just a shout out to say you are doing great!!:D

Hey Blues, sorry I haven't been around much this week. The first couple of days, I ate out 2X and didn't make very healthy choices. :o But I'm back on track now and have been good since Wednesday. And I've worked out 3 days for around 45 minutes, so hopefully that will cancel my bad eating. :)

At least you countered the bad food choices with hard work. Hoping the scale fairies were good to you this morning!! lol!!

Mercy-Hey!!! Miss you!

BigMid-Thanks for last week. I think you are a great leader. Once I tried to just take over the weigh in and keep track off the weight loss each week. OMG I was lost and overwhelmed! Kudos to u for all you do it is really appreciated.

I had a good week and am down 4 lbs, so that makes me really happy. I am starting to look forward to my workouts, and overall I just feel motivated. I just hope I can keep it up.

For Saturday:
W - 72 oz
I - I am enjoying my workouts.
N - Good
T - Read a book before bed
E - Lower body weights, 49.5 mins.
R - Slept really well.

Bobbi - The Belly Fat Cure plan is basically about reducing one's sugar intake and watching the carbs. You can eat 15 grams of sugar per day, and have 6 servings of carbohydrates, (roughly 120 grams). I don't eat a lot of sugar, but it's sure been an eye opener for me just how much sugar is added to foods.

Lily - I hope you get some relief soon

Kimberly - Almost a 100 lbs lost :bravo: You are an inspiration!!

Mary - How awful! I hope your doctor can give you an explanation and that the pain goes away soon

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Narnia...I don't track my carbs in Fitday but I just added carbs to my column to see how many I eat daily, 174 - 161 - 191 - 139 - 167 this month. I couldn't live on only 120 grams. We still have butternut squash from our garden, my favorite vegie. That had 59 grams one of those days, geeeeeezz! I never eat real sugar at home so that's not a problem (I eat Stevia). What can you eat?

and have 6 servings of carbohydrates, (roughly 120 grams).

Hi! Team, I have not had a great week from a WINTER perspective. BUT I am starting the week clean. I did indeed gain, so sorry team, But, here is what I did that has helped me not like a total slug!
1. This week, I made 11 cups of chicken stock FROM SCRATCH! Sounds silly, but my family has been on a tight budget, and to help, I am trying to learn really not to waste. There was a really good sale on bone-in Chicken breasts, so I bought three packages. I got 15 breast fillets, boneless, and skinless, 2lbs of meat that can be used for a stir-fry, and the 11 cups of homemade chicken stock that are now in the freezer. There are 3 adults and two kids, so that is at least 4 meals, plus the stock. all for just under $15.
My next task is to make homemade bread, and save the $3 a loaf for the kids and my sisters sandwiches during the week.
Exercise has been sporadic at best this week, but I am back on track with a walk tonight, and back to the gym tomorrow. I am going to do this, even if it means a lb a month!
I am SO excited for those of you losing! You rock! Thanks for inspiring me.
Have a great week!
W. - about 32oz
I. - I am doing this, no matter how long it takes!
N. - Getting back on track
T. - Spent a good amount of time reading
E. - sporadic at Best.
R. - Terrible... going to bed too late, and up too early. fixing this week!
