Lightbulb Self inspriration WIN!

So I had a bit of a hissy fit trying to walk a mile outside on Monday because walking on concrete was making me hurt something awful! I am resigned to the fact that impact on my knees, shins and ankles is gonna hurt till this weight comes off, but I still had a bit of a come to Jesus moment with my willpower, self inspiration and deep NEED to do this that day and I see now that it worked! That evening I went to the gym and got on the treadmill. I normally moan and whine my way through 15 mins till I hit the less painful (for me due to no true impact) elliptical for the other 15 mins. Well, that night, I just got in a groove. Before I knew it-I'd been on it at 3.5 fotr 40 mins and had cleared 2.25 miles! Woop! Felt so good to back my words to my own body, mind and temptations up with some action!

Mind you-I was sore as all get out yesterday-but it was worth it!

Good for you! It is worth it to feel sore after a good workout -- it means your muscles are responding! Keep it up!

That's great!

I'm not trying to discourage you or anything, but does your gym have a pool? If so, you could consider replacing some exercises with swimming until you get some of the weight off. It's low impact on your joints.

Just a suggestion though. Good luck!
