Default Thudding heart beat?

Hi all,

I am in my fourth week of induction. Several days ago, I started noticing that my heart seemed to be beating harder than usual. It starts (I think) after lunch.

If I don't think about it, I can forget about it, at least for a while. I don't know when it stops, but I wake up feeling fine.

I'm not sweaty or tired or anything like that. Its more like I feel nervous (even though I'm not). Its also very different from when I've had too much caffeine.

Any thoughts?

Thanks all.

I'd see a doctor if I were you. Your heart is too important to guess what the problem might be.

Like I said, I had this too while doing induction. As soon as I raised my carbs, it stopped (as well as the hyperactive restlessness). I'm still eating in a low carb way (no bread, pasta etc and limits on fruit), with the exception that I am eating oatmeal for breakfast. My personal theory is the more you get away from your personal limit for carbs, the worse ketosis feels. I think my tolerance is quite high, therefore when I cut them to 20g or less, my body reacted. I think i'm around 30/40g now and it seems fine!

Thanks all! Yes, I do plan on seeing a doctor. I should have said that up front.

I posted this because I wanted to get a sense of whether this was a common "symptom" of induction.

hi chicks,

Saw the doctor. He doesn't think this is diet related at all. I'm going to get some more tests done, but my heart looks fine.

Whew!

Glad to hear that you got it checked out and your heart seems fine! Better safe than sorry and hope the follow up is easy to resolve.
