Thanks for the mug, I need it!

I'll reiterate--Happy Gobble Gobble day to my American sisters!

Qucik one for me today--going to drop in and I have a lot of stuff to drop off for a lady who has become my friend. She has an 8 month old, her baby Lily is mixed, half Indonesian and half white, like my Miree is half Korean and half white. Obviously, we have a lot to talk about! I have a HUGE bag of baby clothes for Lily and some arts and craffts stuff for the facilitator to use in the program.

Have a good one! :)

A wonderfully cool morning here. DH is out getting the large bbq pit ready to smoke the turkey. I thought I'd sneak in real quick to wish all my friends here a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with their family and friends.

I know that I have so very much to be thankful for everyday but will take a special time out today to make sure I offer more appreciation.

DH and I are cooking for those who may not have family to visit today. We'll open the ice house and serve dinner from 2:00 until ?? The girls volunteer to work a few hours and we all bring dishes. I know what it feels like to spend holidays alone and there's no reason for it as long as God blesses us with food to serve.

I'm not quite as sore this morning as yesterday. So hopefully I won't be walking all stooped over all day! lol

Anyone ready for another cup? Be back later!

Mornin' Pooky - you snuck in on me! Congrats on the job!

GOOD MORNING TO MY DEAR 3FAT CHICK FRIENDS!!!

Thanks Janice for the coffee. I wish I was close enough to join you in helping to feed those who do not have family close by. I agree, no need to be alone for the holiday.

Pooky enjoy your new friend. You just never know where or how a person will come into your life.

Sorry ladies, I'm a little sappy today. I have so much to be thankful for. The most important is my family, but after speinding 3 months in the hospital and all that went with it, I'm just so blessed to be here today.

Our Thanksgiving tradition, husband's and mine, of disagreeing on how to make the sausage stuffing..........IS ON!!! We love it, we start days ahead of time, disagreeing on the method.. It's really his Mother's recipe.........so I have left the kitchen and he is making it. This is how it always ends. :dizzy:

Ruth how are you holding up? Sue, how are you?

I'll check in throughout the day to see what is going on with everyone.

We leave tomorrow morning for Florida. Only hubby, I and daughter are going, the boy's both are working. We decided to return on Monday to miss that crazy travel day on Sunday.

Later

Happy Turkey Day everyone! Don't end up with the dread turkey hangover today, okay??

Sis is bringing the meal over around 10:30 and then we are all off to visit relatives after that. Wow, so much food, where will I put it all? Forget staying OP today, let's just make a pact to get back to it tomorrow!!

Love you all and sending you best wishes. I am thankful for my cyber family and friends!

Happy Thanksgiving to my dear American friends! I am thankful that we have met on the net and in person. Strange to hear you USA chicks call it "Turkey Day". I thought that was a Canadian expression to differentiate between our two Thanksgivings. Guys working for me used to always book it off to watch football.

Debkay, our feast disagreement is over these damned glazed turnips that Harry insists on making. They dirty at least four pots or pans and he never gets them done the day before. It's usually a last minute job right when I'm trying to make gravy and mash potatoes.

Janice, I'd love to help you at the Ice House today. We do a similar dinner at "Loaves and Fishes" and "Martha's Table" for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It works out well because the meal is at noon and we can still have lots of time at home.

Goodforme, have a great day. I agree - relax and enjoy the day without worrying about what you eat - well, maybe a little bit. I can sort of smell the turkey up here - must be a south wind. :joker:

Pooky, your new friend sounds as if she'll be a keeper. It's nice that you can help her out with baby clothes.

:bb: Speaking of babies, I'm a great-Aunt again! Linda had a baby girl yesterday and my sister is very relieved. I think she was a wee bit jealous that I had grandkids (thanks to MEW) before she did.

OK OK - the wrist. It hurts but the drugs work and also make me sleepy so I am NOT doing anything harder than flip magazine pages. OK? I wore the splint to bed last night which meant no bumping in the night - BUMPING, I said! Harry is on kitchen duty today. Later I am going to show him how to make pineapple cakes for the Bake Sale - after a nap, of course.

Bye for now - I need to start my lazy day by making a list of stuff to delegate. I need MEW!

I had to stop in to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I have been in Florida for a week, and then back to work for Tuesday and Wednesday...it is soo great to be home this morning and be able to catch up and say hi!

I have a lot of old posts to read, but for now- you sick ones get better! Take care of yourself today and don't overdo!

love to all,
dottie

L- we lost our kitty unexpectedly in May and I still get tearful. We still walk around the house talking to her:( Haven't quite got ready to do the kitten madness again though!:dizzy:

Happy Thanksgining to all,
Just a quick note to say hello and I hope you all enjoy your day. I am off to town to do a bit of christmas shopping and to do "shopping for food". It is my day off.

Thanksgiving is a time of quiet reflection upon the past and an annual reminder that God has, again, been ever so faithful. The solid and simple things of life are brought into clear focus.

Janice and Ruth! I am glad you two are ok!

Yes! Happy Thanksgiving!

BUT

Did someone put a hex on me?

My refrigerator is not running so I had to throw out the stuffing and the sweet potato casserole. The freezer is slowly thawing. The turkey was still cold so it is in the oven, my step daughter has a sick kid so she will not be comimng up today, my vcr is broken, the car is going to cost a bundle to repair and porn keeps popping up on my computer and NOW as I type the letters don't appear on the screen until I pause and stop typing.

I've tried to lead a good honest life. operative word is TRYING

yep!

could be worse.........it could be CHRISTMAS!!!!

hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahaha.......

But! I am thankful for my family and that Jiff is stillaround!, My dh is looking for a small fridge to get us through the days to see if we need a new one or can just get the old one repaired.

BUT the best news came yesterday when the psyche doc said that the little guy should stay in his special school and not be moved into district.

I think my computer just froze!

later,
I hope

Happy thanksgiving all my chicky friends,
Thanks for your well wishes. I am not jumping on the kitten wagon all too soon I have to digest the 17 years with Charlie before I can make room for another kitty. I still have not out away the food and stuff. I will do that on Monday when everyone is gone. I need a little quet time, and the mice will be happy for the weekend.

Peach, I too hear you on the trying thing...

So to all of you I am thankful for this day, th opportunity to have friends to reach out to and cry with. I am thankful for my full house today and for having the strength to get out of bed and be the best person I can be. but I am most thankful for the 2 boys and husband that make me feel whole.
Be Well,
-L

Hi, just popped by to say Happy Thanksgiving. I haven't been around for almost a week, haven't felt well and haven't been sociable! My left ovary hurts and I saw the doctor and I will have surgery next Thursday to either remove the cyst or the ovary itself. Hopefully I can pop in again in the next couple of days. I have a long weekend at work coming up. Have a nice Thanksgiving!

and so much to be thankful for!!! after all, i'm STILL HERE!!!! much to the surprise of a couple of doctors..

and am able to walk and talk and laugh and function. quite a gift.

we got out of work early yesterday, so i stopped by the local health club, the only place for at least 10 miles around that has a pool!!! and i'll probably join. it's a little pricier than i'd like, but let's face it, i need it. and without the access and the pool, i'm kind of doomed to failure without it. and i talked with one of the trainers [because we ALL KNOW that i won't do this without one, as i'm your basic exercise idiot. for crying out loud, i'm just lucky to live in joisy where we don't even pump our own gas, and every time i try it in another state i end up breaking nails or drawing blood!!]

and this morning, a 2.5 mile walk with the dog, and came home to a tearful message from peachie.. poor thing. so thank goodness boston market opened at 9!!! we have stuffing and sweet potatoes and mac and cheese for the little guys. all will be just fine!!!

and we picked up the pumpkin pie from our favorite farm stand, and a pound of starbucks coffee to put a smile on peachie's face. heaven knows she needs it!!!

and the apple crisp is in the oven, and a dozen sugar cookies and a dozen peanut butter chocolate chip cookies are done. now, if only i could get mom off her butt and making the salad.

now jennifer. another member of the 3fc hospital ward??? you be careful!!! don't do anything stupid after your surgery. promise?

and lindaBC... was thinking about other lids i've seen.. many have attachments tied on with ribbon or raffia, and as for making them leakproof. that's more of a challenge. i'd be tempted to try a tight layer of saran wrap, that clear plastic wrap that stretches a bit, before putting the top on.

good luck!!! let us know what you decide.

and congrats on the job, pooky!! and a new friend, and everything!! and just think, miree and her dad can have lots of bonding time together!!

big hugs to janice, sherrie, deb, ruth, taz, robin, kel, L in massachusetts, dottie [are you sunburned????] and to everyone else who checks in later. sure wish we could be together today. but we have family and friends, and warm thoughts.

stay healthy, for heavens sake!!!!

Major thanksgiving and rejoicing around here. Hershey had her pups - 5 males and four females. They were all a good size and are doing well. She had such an easy time - just plopped them out with very little effort and was very content with the whole process. Morna got to bed at 3:45 a.m. and was feeling draggy.

Good Grief, Hershey! NINE BABIES!!! That's a lot of puppies. No wonder she was counting her nipples all the time, Ruth. She had to make sure she had enough for all of them. How many nipples do doggies have anyhow? Please give her our congratulations.
Glad to hear you're doing ok...and btw, if you want to chat on ICQ you have to have your sound turned on so you can hear when I send you a message. LOL
I am totally off program the past couple of days and it's not even Thanksgiving here. I'm just saying I'm having a "sympathetic" Thanksgiving. :D
Not much new to report. I'm being quite lazy and I really should be cleaning this house. Tomorrow.

I'm p - o'd with dh and his family! They called twice today to see when/where dh was and if he was coming. Notice - dh, not us - I kept my mouth shut, did my expected thing and six hours later dh returned. When I expressed some hurtful feelings, well, let's just say, he's on the couch and he just might as well stay there for all I give a crap! And now, of course, he's saying I'm being unreasonable! Yeh right! Ten years of living in his and his ex wifes shadow tho I'm at the hospital every time his ex is ill - there by her now passed mom and dad cause I came to love them so much. On and on - sorry, think that after ten years I should fall into the "family" somewhere! Ok, I'll just continue to deal with it - right?

Hope everyone had a wonderful day!

CONGRATS GRANDMA RUTHIE!!! Wow, nine new babies! Hope that Hershey is doing well! Please keep us updated !!!

Congrats on the new puppies Hershey and Ruth! Can;t wait to see a pic of the wee fluff balls! :)

Jancie ((((HUGS)))) I swear the holidays bring out the wrost in families sometimes--just let it roll off your back. Just remember that next time you have an occasion at your house, you might want to accidentally on purpose to forget to invite them!

Rise above it, Janice. You are above such petty grievances. They are all the poorer for not letting you into their inner circle. You deserve to be cherished and made very welcome. Don't let them make you feel so unappreciated. What goes around comes around. Is that enough platitudes for you? LOL
