Yeah, I read The Sex Lives of Cannibals, which is a travel journal by an American who moved to Kiribati (pronounced Kiribas, mentioned in that video as the nearest neighboring country). His description of their "grocery" is deplorable. I really learned a lot about the quality of life in the south pacific from that book. It's definitely not what you expect.

ETA- awesome book though. The author actually moved there because his gf/wife was there to teach the locals how to grow crops in their poor soil conditions.

Even though I gripe about the cost of produce, I cannot imagine walking into a grocery store and there be absolutely no fruits or veggies, and this sounds horrible but maybe since the mining of phosporates has decreased so much they will have to go back to eating fresh fish and improve their health.
