OOPS! I posted in the other thread this morning. LOL

Just wanted to pop in real quick. I bounced up yesterday and back down again today to 217.8. A smidge up from my low but I'm a little sore from yesterday's run. I was on plan and I will be again today.

Stir fry garlic tilapia for lunch today, girls! I am EXCITED!!!

Going to do some crafts with my boy today. We're going to make a Chore Chart and possibly a behavior chart to put stars on when we have a good day. I'm going to take him to the Dollar store and we'll pick out the big posterboard to use and get some cool stickers to put on it. I think that will be fun. Hoping everyone is having a great weekend! Morning all.

I'm up a pound again today. I'm a more than a bit perplexed (and po'd) now...I've been doing pretty well with my eating and I'm not really seeing that reflected in my weight. I was up through the night because I was pretty itchy. I am wondering if I'm maybe having a reaction to the pain meds I'm taking. No codeine, but it's a type I've never taken before. Other than the itchiness though I don't notice any other reaction, so swelling or anything like that.

Anyway, I"ll stick to the plan and hope for the best. Tonight's dinner will likely be a new recipe I found for pork tenderloin with red peppers. Yum!

Shylah - Thanks for the info about swelling...I hope that will explain it and maybe it will whoosh away this week. I feel a little bad because I just joined the biggest loser challenge and will have to post a gain this week.

Diana -- Congrats on your .2 this morning! Yes, I am a bit amazed too. Yesterday we ran 2-3 errands in the morning, and that did kind of wipe me out, but I came home and laid down for an hour or so and I felt much better. I started taking my pain meds and I think I might be a bit allergic as I was crazy-itchy last night in bed.

Vixsin -- The chore chart sounds like a fun project for today! We are going to do my DS's homework (he has to read a short book) and then begin writing his valentine cards for school. :val1:

Coondocks -- You're doing great! I wouldn't worry too much unless you are feeling some unpleasant side effects.

Ona - :sumo:

kuchick, you're so close to goal!

Thanks for the encouragement! It's so slow now that it's easy to lose sight of how close I'm getting. You've already lost 12 this month - you've done so well! I love seeing how well everyone is doing. :carrot:

I'm 143.5 this morning which is a new low, but my scale likes to mess with me sometimes so who knows if it'll stick.

If you just had surgery and had an IV, you're still swollen. When I had my C-sections, I had swelling for a couple weeks afterwards - and not always particularly noticeable. Besides, your body will hold on to water to help it heal. Try not to worry, you're doing great!

Morning, ladies!

It's officially TTOM, so I'm hoping for a whoosh before Friday's weigh-in, but Tom is really light, so I don't know how much havoc he's actually wreaking.

quantumsheep, I'm clearly no expert on exercise but I think it's normal to have water retention after a big workout, right?

Angie, I wouldn't pay too close attention to the scale until you're totally recovered. I bet you'll have a nice drop soon!

Angie - Im not feeling any sideaffects at all, which is great of course . . . so I'm going to take it as the 2 1/2 months of hoovering between 3-5 lbs is done and my body is becoming a more efficient machine.
Could also be that I've reignited my love of fresh, healthy foods and am not allowing any 'junk' in my body anymore.

Well this is my 3rd day on Weight Watchers and since Friday I have lost 2.2lbs. I love seeing I actually lost weight over the weekend :carrot:. I go to my first meeting today which I am nervous about but I need to make sure I am doing everything correct. I also feel the support here and at the meetings will help me a great deal :)

ParadiseFalls - Don't be bummed, my weight fluctuates like that all the time, all depends on how much salt I ate or water I consumed. Keep you're chin up, we can do this .

I bounce up. I bounce down. I bounce up. I bounce down.

I won't let it stop me. I am on plan today. I am going for a run today. I will also do some yoga and abs today. I've said it before and I'll say it again...my scale doesn't scare me. :)

DS and I made the chore chart and a house rules chart yesterday. So fun and so mentally exhausting. LOL I'll take pictures of them and post them. They are cute. DS had a blast.

I'll check back later. :)

Morning all. I'm happy to report 4 of the 6lbs I'd gained in the last few days are gone today. I stopped taking my pain meds yesterday, and if it hurt I just laid down. That's been working for me, so I'm continuing today...foregoing pain meds and resting instead.

Diana -- I'm doing pretty well, the pain is very manageable and I'm trying to be active for short periods, then rest afterwards. I just prepped some stuff for dinner tonight and now I'm back to resting. Congrats on your .6 today!

Essa -- Nice whoosh for you! You must be celebrating that today.

ParadiseFalls -- I think the time of day would make big difference, that's about 6 hours more that you usually have to burn calories before you weigh in. Don't worry too much, you're doing all the right things so I think the time of day is probably the biggest culprit.

Blue eyes - Congrats on your successful weekend!

HI Shylah

Vixsin -- Keep doing all those great things for your body, the bouncing will settle down eventually. Can't wait to see your pics of the charts!

Now watch, I'll have a bounceback to 208 tomorrow. :joker:

no weigh in yesterday, knew I would be up and I'm ok with that . . . . did NOT have the energy today, DS decided it was a night to be up from 2-430 am . . . when you get up at 5:15, doesn't make for a cheerful start to the day.

Undoubtedly, the scale will reflect the lack of sleep so I'm 'treating' myself to blissful ignorance today. Staying OP of course, but enjoying the last look at the scale at 173.2 ha ha!!

BBL for personals :) :)

The scale was nice to me this morning too! Down 1.6 to 217.2 :yay:

I almost thanked my scale this morning! I DID smile at it though. ;)

Down 2.2 today, and I'm feeling more 'back to normal'. I'm working from home today, and I'll probably go in to the office tomorrow. I wish I could go in wearing yoga pants and a t-shirt! I'm going to be so disappointed in normal losses now, after 2 big days of shedding the swelling/water retention from my surgery. I will stay on plan today so that I can still be proud in the morning. :)

Vixsin -- Oh, I hear you on the sleep thing. My DS is a similar age I think, and he pulls that every now and then. I don't know about yours, but mine plays me...first it will be a glass of water...then he'll need to ask an important question...then when I'm about to lose it he'll tell me he just needed an extra hug or kiss -- so then I feel like crap for being so impatient, and we start the cycle over again. :) I hope he wasn't too much of a bear for you this morning. Congrats on your loss this morning!

Diana -- No change is good...good job sticking to plan. Thank you for your encouragement

FitKristi -- You did it! Congratulations!! 20 days is a long time, good for you for being so tenacious and not giving up. Please remind me of this next time I complain about a 2-3 day stall!

CutieCourt -- I'm hungry this morning too...just trying to distract myself for a bit on here and if my tummy is still growling I'll go find something to keep it quiet. Sorry about your gain today..probably still the sodium working its way out.

Ona -- I'm feeling lots better today thanks. I underestimated how tired I would be post-surgery, it took a day or two to hit me. You're doing so great, I can't believe your at 210...that's awesome.

Kris -- Are you out there? How are you doing?

 Yeah, I'm here. Thank you for asking. I've been lurking lately, don't get much time to really read and I seem to be distracted. :dunno: Don't know what my problem is. I'm working on getting back on track (I know, been saying that for a while). Seems I do good for a day or so and then blow it - sometimes only do good for a few hours before I blow it. So far so good today. :) I sold my recumbent bike (which I was not using - boring) and used the money to get myself an elliptical over the weekend. Got it put together on Sunday. I have been sick for a few weeks and have some chest congestion going on so can't do much on it, but I've been getting on it for a few minutes a few times a day.

I know it's crazy, but part of me has been saying "oh, when you've lost that 10 lbs you gained then you can start posting again. . ." or "when you've managed to stay on track for more than a day, then you can start posting again. . ." Crazy - because obviously doing it on my own has worked so well in the past. I see how far many of you have come in the past few months (that I've wasted) and I feel so dumb for falling behind.

Yeah,I can't believe it either :o and i also can't believe that I'm actually wearing a size 16 now, after wishing all my adult life that if i could only just wear a 16! Amazing..just goes to show if someone really wants something bad enough and they work for it,they'll get it. But the most important.. if you lean on the Lord for strength(cause i couldn't have done this without him) he'll give you the desires of your heart:)

Kris -- I'm feeling your pain and your lack of committment...I'm in the same boat, just trying to get myself back on track after a 1.5 month stall. First it was vacation, then the holidays, and since Jan 1 I've run out of reasons I'm not back in the saddle. Like you I have had good starts and then blow it with a bad choice or a 'treat'. I'm pretty much back on plan now for the last few days. I think the key is to celebrate what goes right and try to do just a bit better the next day...don't throw in the towel because of a bad ending to a day or a bad choice within the day. I've been making sure to check in here, and going through some of the goal posts, which are always really motivating to me. I hope you will stick with us and let us support you through the rough patch.

Ona -- Well I didn't really go to work, I worked from my bed  I'm lucky to have some flexibility in my job that will allow me to do that now and then. I do feel the strain after my first full day with no nap, and more upright time than I've become accustomed to over the past few days. Still debating about tomorrow. I think I will go in to the office, but maybe head home early and finish the afternoon from here.

I'm having lots of late night cravings these days. Last night I satisfied them with a skinny cow fudgsicle (50 cal) and a blueberry bran muffin (150 cal). I've already eaten my fudgsicle for tonight...I'm going to try to put off having another muffin. I have to go count my calories to figure out what I can still afford for today. I sometimes find a big cup of tea made sweet with some splenda will help to chase my cravings away...off to try that. :)

:goodvibes: Kris!! We're all thinking of you! Like Ona said, one day at a time. Heck, one MINUTE at a time if it needs to be.

We ALL are right next to you every step of the way!!!! Don't ever feel ashamed. That's just not allowed here! :)

Feel better soon, dear. You can make it to the other side of this! You have come too far to give up on yourself now! Remember how hard you were working before the ball? Remember how great it felt to workout and make those healthy choices? Remember seeing the scale reward you for all the hard work that you had done? I do. :) I know you do too.

We all struggle. It's inevitable on a journey as trying as this one. But that's what is so great about this place....I have never felt SO much like a part of something great as I do here. We're here with you. **** Kris, if you can't walk right now, we will CARRY you! Look in the mirror and look for that woman that WE see! She's still in there. There is NO way that she is gone!

We believe in you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

   to all of you. Everyone is so nice and supportive . . . thank you. I will do my best to post more and stay more focused. Work is crazy busy and life is crazy busy. My daughter started night classes this week so I'll have the boys (Micah 2 yrs and Maddox 7 months) 3 nights a week - my daughter walks out the door as I'm walking in and won't get home until after the boys are in bed. I love the time with the boys, but I'm a little rusty at multi-tasking with two babies by myself. :dizzy:

I should get to bed. I need to go into work early tomorrow to try to get some filing done before my boss gets in the office - my plan is to be at work by 6:30 (8 hours from now), so I better get my butt to bed. Thanks again guys. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have a good number to report (although weighing that early might not allow that).

Hi everybody! Been MIA, my baby has been sick! :( I am holding on so far! I think cutting on the carbs help some, but I am not losing like I was before. I keep trying to focus on the healthy habits I am trying to develop and continue, like exercising and healthy eating. If I focus on the lack of loss poundage-wise, I get too caught up in that bad cycle of food deprivation then binging. Another reason I like to check in with you all, you keep me accountable!

I see some excellent progress from so many of you! I love to see your commitment to exercise and being OP with your eating. I know your struggles with falling off and getting back to the plan are just like mine! We all understand each other so well.

Kris- I can't say anything more or better than what Vixsin said so eloquently and I have to agree with Diana too. Maybe posting daily will help a little. Sometimes it is so easy to lurk and very often it seems you go unnoticed. But I know there is always someone on here that will ask where so and so is not long after. As for comparing yourself to others, you just gotta stop that now. We all have different bodies, different goals and different ways of getting to them. Change your mindset to see the things you can accomplish, as you said, a few minutes at a time. We are here to cheer you on!

FitKristi- Great job! You are doing so awesome! 20 day commitment = great pay off! I gotta keep this in the front of my mind as I go through my day!

Vixsin- I have a 5 year old boy and he sounds like your sons twin! Yours and Angie's for that matter. My only son...wow, boys are so challenging! ;)

Thiningvegan- Excellent job!

Angie- I am glad your surgery went well! I have gallbladder attacks. My last one was the day of Thanksgiving, I thought I was going to die! I had to take a Vicodin to stop the pain. I did a lot of research about it and I am still on the fence whether to remove it or not. I think I need to try to change my dietary habits before I do anything else. I am a notorious starver/binger, a HUGE reason for gallbladder attacks! That and fat/oil will send me into an attack right away. :( Boo! So I am trying to eat WAY cleaner and less processed foods, fats, etc. But I still may consider the surgery, if a really bad one hits me again. Anyway, you look like you made a speedy recovery!

Okay I best get to bed in case my little one gets up sick again tonight. Get a jump on some sleep while I still can! See you all tomorrow! Especially Kris! ;) lol...right?

Hugs,
Leah

Thought I would share what I have to deal with on a daily basis in the breakroom at work . . . and it's all free. There's also a fridge full of juices, high fat yogurts, pop, etc. And there are two candy dishes in the office - located in high traffic areas. The candy dish at the reception desk is full of mini candy bars and things like Lindt chocolate truffels and there is another candy dish right outside the breakroom that is kept full of M & M's. It's totally crazy.

Good Morning, All!

Today I have a hair appointment (cut/color). We always eat at a Japanese restaurant that I really like when we have hair appointments. I expect a sodium gain tomorrow. I have modified what I order, when we go there, since my lifestyle change. Now I order the teriyaki beef w/vegetables. It is normally served with rice not veggies.

Calories for yesterday: 1540

Weigh In: 162.8

No Change

I think this is my 3rd day at this weight. I think this is a first for me. I have stayed at a weight for 2 days, but not more. I always fluctuate.

I might not be able to do much with personals the next couple of days. I'm trying to finish up some stuff at work before the end of the month.

Have a wonderful, on plan day!

Kris I know this is going to sound crazy, but is there any way that you can talk to yourself and convince yourself that that those foods in the break room are toxic? I know anytime I have had foods not on my plan, they never taste as good as what you imagine them to taste. Or at the time they taste good, but that feeling lasts only a few minutes at the most. It's not like they make you feel good for any length of time. In fact, afterward you normally feel like crap. It may not work for you, but it does help me. I also see the way my DH eats, and it makes me sad. He is on a lot of diabetes meds and they cost us a small fortune. It would shock you. He doesn't seem to be able to change his eating habits. All of his food choices for dinner last night were bad. He did not make a single good choice. After all of his meds his sugar was still 250 last night. :dunno: Sometimes I will tell myself if DH would eat it, it's not a good choice for me. :dunno:

Hey guys. :coffee2:

I don't think I've checked into the second installment of the thread yet so here's the full month's report:

1: 207
2: 207
3: 208
4: 206

26: 204
27: 203
28: 203
29: 203

So, grump grump, close to 3 weeks that I have been hovering around 204 (though I did dip down to 203 once within the past week, and almost did again this morning before the scale made up its mind and picked 204).

I'm not concerned - I don't think it's a real stall, it's more that I have had a **** of a time getting into a good solid routine this month. So I'm not concerned, rather just annoyed. :p As soon as I get my act together I'm sure the numbers will start moving again.

I've got to trot off to work - hope everyone's having a good day.

I know those kinds of foods are killing me. I look at my mom and my brother-in-law, both with serious diabetic complications, and know I need to take better care of myself. From February last year until recently I've done a great job of avoiding those things - it's just been recently that I've fallen back into old habits. But I'm back on track.

Have a good day everyone. I have lots to do today and am already at work so I better get busy.

A slight bounceback, but not as much as I was expecting! I'll take it! Despite being stuck for so long this month, its proving to be a pretty successful month of weight loss, so I'm happy!

Morning all :) I'm still having these crazy (wonderful) losses...down 3lbs today to 224.2 -- I admit I was trying hard to stick to my plan the last few days but I didn't expect that...I'm back to my lowest weight, and just a few ounces away from a 50 lb loss. Hopefully I'll celebrate that tomorrow.

Kris -- Those 2 boys have got to be a handful after a full day at work. Could you bundle them up and take them out for a walk in the evening? It might help the 2 year old get some of his energy out, and you can get some exercise pushing them in the stroller. Sorry, I'm not sure about how much snow you get there, so forgive me if that's an impossible suggestion...lol. If it is, substitute stroller for a little sled and you can pull them around, I'm sure they would love it. Oh my gosh, where on earth do you work?? That is totally crazy...all that junk food. It's like the temptation room in The Biggest Loser!

Leah -- I had never had a problem with gallstones until last August, but they told me that it is common after losing weight. I just felt I had to do it, I couldn't face more nights in emergency when I had attacks; plus it was becoming a burden to my mom to have to take the day off work or lose sleep all night staying with my DS while I was in. Make sure you do go in to have them check you out if you have an attack as they can do serious damage in some cases. I think it's probably normal to begin losing slower as you get closer to your goal. You are probably still losing similarly, if you used a % of your body weight, but the numbers are lower. Hope your little one feels better soon.

Diana -- Enjoy your day, hair appointment, dinner out, sounds great! I have found I can eat at my favourite Chinese restaurant too, but I just skip the majority of rice/noodle and deep fried stuff. There are lots of meat/veggie options too. I like your advice to Kris about imagining the food is toxic. That type of strategy has worked for me for a lot of things...I tell myself that they are not even real food, just a combination of ingredients and chemicals that form food-like shapes. This is more true when it comes to making lunch for my DS than anything. I tell him he has to eat his fruit/veg in his lunch each day MOnday-Thursday and on Fridays he can have something junky... I don't want to make these things totally off limits to him, but everything in moderation. I'm trying to shape the way he looks at food in a way that will help him later. As for your stall, maybe you need a calorie shake up...sometimes a little extra can help. Enjoy your dinner tonight. :)

Carter -- Welcome back. I'm just getting back into a routine this month too. I've been off track for a while. One thing that I think will help is that I've started a Biggest Loser contest at work, so I'll be weighing in there once a week with everyone. The more accountability the better for me.

Kristi -- Wow, you've lost 13lbs already this month!!?? That's awesome!

They are a joy, but a bit of a handful sometimes. The older one really is pretty easy to take care of - most of the time. The younger one is a little more needy and that makes it hard to get much done - and Micah doesn't understand sometimes if he wants me to read to him or something and Maddox is fussing and needs something. Maddox just had surgery last week and has been a little more fussy than usual. We have a lot of snow on the ground right now and it's really cold. Too cold to take the boys out. I'm looking forward to warmer weather when I can take them out for walks and such. We bundle up and go over to my mom's pretty frequently for short visits (she lives across the street from me - corner to corner). Micah loves to go to GG's (great grandma) house. It's usually one of the first things he will ask for "GG's house today?" She's 80 and not in very good health, so she loves seeing the boys and especially loves that Micah asks for her.

Wow Kris, :dizzy: Did they just start to keep all that junk around or is this a new Job? If you've had to face that while you lost all that wieght,You're stronger than you give yourself credit for

As for the food, I work in a small law firm. We rent office space from a larger firm and the breakroom snacks are part of the perks. I've been here over 5 years and the food in the breakroom has always been like that. Actually it used to be worse - they've toned it down some lately. :dizzy: My daughter (who has no weight problem at all) is always amazed by it when she comes to see me. She said "I would be so fat if I worked here." Duh.... They also have a big catered birthday luncheon at least once a month (for every birthday so some months there may be more than one luncheon). The food is usually high fat/high calorie type stuff (BBQ, Pizza, etc.) and always with a rich dessert or two and the leftovers always go in the kitchen. There is also a food court in my building (which I am good at avoiding most of the time), but there's a Homestyle cooking place, a deli, Jason's Deli, Starbucks, Subway, Great Steak & Potato, a chicken wing place, chinese, indian (curry?), a burrito place, blue bell ice cream, etc. etc. Across the street - Planet Sub, Kentucky Fried Chicken, MeMa's Bakery, etc. It's a stress-eater's nightmare. :sp:

Howdy everyone I wi at 223.2 almost back to my low of 222 and soon to be out of the 220s you have no idea how bad I want out I can taste it !

I need to get to the two teens this is insane lol. Ive been having a great week so far and this makes week two that ive been op. So hopefully next week I will see 219. anything for me the key is staying op weekends which is soooo hard for me but not impossible.

Have a great day ladies(on plan)!

Angie

Matilda -- I'll go there with you...I'm at 224 today and even though it sounds impossible, I'd like to see 220 by the 31st. I can see it, so I just have to do all the right things to get myself there.

This weekend will test my willpower and commitment...I'm having a 'cooking club' with some friends on Saturday. We are all from different cultures and we are each going to show the others how to cook something traditional. I'm making a turkey, so that's good and on plan, my Indian friend is showing us how to make Tandoori chicken, my Philippa friend is teaching us springrolls....not exactly on plan...and my Albanian friend is going to do a dessert -- I'll have to skip that one for sure!

Sunday we have a kid's birthday party to go to, but that shouldn't really be a problem, cake does not hold many charms for me.

So...I took a sick day today because I felt a bit more pain and was quite exhausted after yesterday. I'm a little bored of being here on my own though...so here is my distraction for the afternoon:

My virtual model -- you enter your stats (height, weight, etc) then you dress it up. Hear is me shrinking to my goal...the pics go in this order:

Hey, ladies. I'm bouncing around again. I've hear the third week on Medifast sometimes yields bad results and then it gets better, so that's what I'm hoping. Right now I'm beginning to feel like eating sawdust and water all day might not be worth it...

Gale02, congrats on kicking the 240s!! Must feel great.

Angie, I love that virtual model!! I'm going to try it as soon as I'm done here. I've tried something similar, the iLoseit iPhone app, but that one won't go to my HW and doesn't show a difference between 270 and 220 :/

Kris, I have no idea how you do it!! I think that's the most junk I've ever seen in one place! :fr:

I'll take it! My family went to Dairy Queen for dinner, since it was Customer Appreciation day, and everything was 1/2 price. I was a little anxious about what I could actually eat there that wouldn't destroy me. But I had a grilled chicken sandwich plain with lettuce, with a side salad instead of fries, and water! Then I had a small cherry sundae instead of a Blizzard (that I really wanted...but I was good!) and was pretty happy with my substitutions! I left feeling satisfied and not deprived. So I'll take the modest -.1, since it isn't a gain! I guess it helps that I did 2 full hours of group exercise classes yesterday and burned over 1000 calories before 11am.

I am down .2 today to 215.8! Really excited about that because my legs are SUPER sore from the new squats I was trying out from a Bob Harper challenge and some stretching I did last night. With all this soreness, I was expecting a bit of a gain this morning. Thank you again, scale. :)

I'll take it. I was surprised to see that number this morning. I did really good yesterday on food and then when I got home my daughter had dinner cooked. I was starving and it smelled so good when I walked in the door. She had made a chicken and rice type of thing - got the recipe out of a book she's reading. It had chicken, white rice, mushroom soup and pieces of tortillas in it. It was very good. I ate more than I should have but not as much as I wanted - it was a high carb meal and I'm sure high in calories. It's a good thing I was better all day yesterday than I've been lately. She also had cinnamon rolls in the oven - I ate two :(. They were the kind that come in the tube like biscuits - little cinnamon rolls. Two of them was 280 calories total. I ended up cooking what I had planned to cook for dinner (stir-fried cabbage & asparagus with chicken) and brought it to have for lunch today. It's really good.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi kids! great losses everyone. I don't have much time - I was late to work after I spent an hour digging my car out this morning from yet another %@&$*%!! foot of snow, it's been a truly incredible January. At least I don't have to feel guilty if I skip the gym tonight, that was a good workout.

Anyway: happy to report I'm back down to the current low of 203. When I was in grad school I had a professor who liked to see "Onward and upward!" But today I'll say, "Onward and downward!" See you all soon.

Gale -- Congratulations on getting out of the 240's!!

Diana -- Thanks!! Up .2 is pretty good after your meal out, right? How was the hair appt/dinner?

CutieCourt -- NIce drop for you today! Good job :)

Kristi -- Nicely managed trip to DQ!

Ona -- Woohoo!!! Congrats on hitting the (what do we call this section?) 2-tens? 2's? Thanks for the support, I'm really looking forward to the cooking on Saturday (I LOVE COOKING) and you're right, I know my limits and I'm the one who makes choices for me. :)

Vixsin -- Thanks! Congrats on your loss :)

Kris -- Awesome drop for you too, nicely done! Last night's meal must not have done too much damage, and it sounds like lunch today was right on track.

Carter -- Congrats on your low :)

Leah -- Thank you!! Good job on your .6 today :)

Athena -- It's a little loss, but it's a loss! Stick with it and try not to be discouraged.

Chloe -- Don't feel ashamed...we are all human and we all go off track now and then. This is the right place to come for encouragement and support.

Chloe, maybe thinking back to way, when and where you binged will help you put some perspective in it all so you''ll develop some kind of control for the triggers that cause it..making it a learning experience and be better prepared for future moments like that. You've put it behind you,are back on track and that's great!!! :)

:congrat: Angie,I'm so happy for you! you know,i really commend you..you had major surgery and never lost focus/still pressed on to lose weight.. phenomenal women! :bravo: thank you!

Goo Morning and TGIF! :yay:

Calories for yesterday: 1440

Weigh In: 163

No change

I find it interesting that I didn't really gain much water weight when we ate the Japanese food the other night. (maybe it hasn't happened, yet ) I have a theory though. :D Wanna hear it? :D I have found out that a lot of Oriental/Chinese/Japanese foods contain fish stock, fish flakes, oyster sauce, etc. I found out that the soup we get at the Japanese restaurant contains some type of seafood stock. This time I ordered the salad instead of the soup. I swear every time I would go to restaurant like that I would gain 2-3 pounds of water weight. It would also stay on me longer than I thought it should. As most of you know by now, I have some type of seafood/shellfish allergy. If I consume seafood/shellfish I will swell up, gain 3 pounds, and it takes a week to get rid of it. Still haven't been tested to find out the exact allergy. In the mean time, I am avoiding as much of that stuff as I can. Hopefully I will have testing done by the Spring. Anyways, I used to eat Beef and Broccoli all the time at a local Chinese restaurant. Come to find out, they put oyster sauce in the Beef and Broccoli. Of course the food does not taste like seafood. The oyster sauce imparts a richness to the dish. Anyways, I find it interesting that I did not have a major water weight gain from the food the other night.

A good thing about tracking your weight daily, is that you can see if there is a correlation between certain foods you eat and your weight. Interesting stuff. ;)

Up .6 to 216.4. I'm ok with that after all the whooshes this week. I was on plan yesterday and will be again today! :)

I'm taking my boy rollerskating today after work for 2 hours. That should be a nice little workout. I realized that I haven't run all week this week. I guess I wanted to take a break. It seemed like life got in the way of me getting to the gym. I still got in some exercise so I feel ok about that. I definitely want to make time to run next week.

I think my office building ran out of oil (for the THIRD time this winter) because it's only 60 degrees in here and that is COOOOOOOOLLLLLLDDDD!!!!! I am sitting here at my desk with my scarf and gloves still on! I hope things warm up soon! LOL

It was a long, restless night. He still had a 100.2 fever this morning and when I was trying to leave for work he told me "no work Ma." I guess he wanted me to stay home. Hopefully he'll feel better by tomorrow or Sunday so we can go use my "free animal" coupon at Build-a Bear. Hope everyone has a great day.

Diana- I'm with you, what I'm liking about this is fiquiring out what makes me bounce, I used to bounce way more than I do recently and its because I'm learning what causes my gains, or well for the most part, lol.
Oh and Yes, it can sneak up on you a couple days later, lol..suprise thats what mine did, it's ok, we both know it's not fat...it's water so we will both go down.....hopefully sooner than later, lol.

Down .6 today to 222.8 -- yay!! Oh and I forgot to take my new bouncy guy for my signature yesterday...I think I was afraid I"d bounce back today, but I didn't!

Ona -- Thank you!

Diana -- That is interesting, I agree the daily weighing really helps you to learn about your body and how it responds to different foods or activities. I'm astonished by how a lack of sleep influences my weight loss.

Vixsin -- I hope things warmed up for you! Rollerskating sounds like lots of fun, enjoy :)

Leah -- Yaaaay!!! Great job...Don't worry, your secret is safe with me. Good luck!

Matilda -- Thank you! Nice loss for you! Keep up the great work this weekend and maybe we can both be out of the 220's before February!

Kris -- Don't worry about the little bounce, just keep making great choices one at a time. Have a fabulous time at build a bear, that place is great!

Twinmomma -- Thank you! I see from your ticker that you've come really far. Do you find you still lose at a fairly good pace now or is it getting tougher?

Diana, it's Medifast! Today made 3 weeks. It's working well enough, and I have proven that I need something drastic like this because I can't handle eating on my own, but man do I hate most of the food. :p

starbrite

Morning my lovely Chickies  boy have I missed you all and my scales :D
Ski-ing went well. The food was as much of an issue as I thought it would be, but my trusty fridge helped me to not eat any of the calorie laden foods on offer. I ate clean - only salad and proteins. I exercised like the devil, walking up mountains, ski-ing for 2/3 hours a day.
BUT........I slept on average 4 hours a night, and drank alcohol in vast quantities  (I think I re-entered my teenage years, as I was the only one up partying with the youngsters every night !!)
Consequently I lost no weight :( . I am 1.5 down from when I left, but just 0.2 down from my lowest weight.
I am ok with it though - it was a major feat to get through ten days in a ski lodge with the food, the exercise, the night life, and come out unscathed. I am actually very proud of myself. I found ski-ing sooooooo much easier without the 110 lbs extra. I was not out of breath once, and I ran up the 73 vertical steps from the village. In years previous I would be able to do 10 steps and then need a break. This time I ran all 73 and screamed when I got to the top - what a joyous NSV that was.
People who remembered me from last year could not get over the changes in me, and were all really complimentary. I feel so honoured to have managed to conquer the food demons and to start to be the person I want to be.
Congratulations to all you girls here - progress is amazing :carrot:
Onwards to the end of this journey :sumo:

Paradise I remember now. Hmm, is Medifast packaged foods or shakes? If it's food, do you think you can sub some equivalent meals (Healthy choice, Lean Cuisine, etc) from the store? If it's shakes, search around and find one that's similar that you can alternate with. Hugs to you. Hang in there.

Still holding onto the Sodium, No worries Todays Run will work out some of it, and then I have a Long Run of 11 miles today, which was going to be today but since I have to run them on the treadmill I will make it for tomorrow!

Angie- I also suffer from PCOS so I do find it more difficult to lose at times when I'm suffering from an inbalance. This month for example the whole first week, for no reason gained and held onto 4 extra pounds, I had a cyst on my right ovary that was bothering me. * but also just as a person this stage in the journey, the ability to lose is harder because my body no longer really loses on just calorie cutting alone. I used to be able to lose simply by a reduced calorie intake, the more fit I become I notice the more efficient my body is, you would think I would use more calories but actually I use less, so I dont need as much. I've had to drop my calories from what used to be 1600-1800 down to 1200 and no more than 1600, which in the long haul is a little difficult, mostly managable but still hard at times. Definately possible though, so I keep chugging along! I'm definately putting in the effort and I'm seeing the results!

You all great, Keep it going!

Twinmomma -- Thanks for that insight. I'm going to have to add exercise back into my plan eventually. I did have a personal trainer at first, but that wasn't sustainable financially :D so I'm on my own and doing a poor job of getting my butt moving.

Morning, ladies!!

chloekinsicle and kristi, congrats on your drops!! Must feel great. :cb:

starbrite, glad you had fun skiing!! I'm jealous ;)

Diana, it's the packets that you mix and cook/microwave/mix to make your foods. I've thought about trying substitutions, but it's pretty strictly portioned as far as carbs and calories, so I'm trying to hold out. If I go more than a few weeks with a loss below 2 lbs, I might give it up and try SlimFast instead, because it is pretty expensive. It's still early, though, so I'm hanging in!

I'm hoping for a whoosh soon I'm still on TOM, I had a lot of sodium (bowling alley popcorn) last night, and I've been pretty...er...stopped up because of the Medifast for the last several days.

Back on track, and so happy to have proved I can go out of my comfort zone and still survive.

Next hurdle for me is a huge job application. I lose the job I love in July (political....) and am applying for a new one. I live in Belgium, and the job is in UK. I means selling the house, moving two teenage children from the place they love and leaving my husband to commute to the UK. Sounds selfish, right? But it would mean a better life ultimately for everyone, and would give the kids a home in the uk. Gosh babbling on, but I am a little scared :( but excited too.

Good Morning, Everyone!

Calories for yesterday: 1865 + :coffee:

Weigh In: 162.2

Down: .4

Starbrite My final goal is to live in the 155-160 range. I am taking into account for TTOM and high sodium stuff. I will shoot for 157 as my actual weight. I don't know if it that will happen, though. We'll see. ;)

I had a big carb-fest binge last night - nothing terrible, but light popcorn and fiber crackers. I was SO snacky! Might have been my big workout earlier in the day, or something...but I was totally expecting the increase. I'm going to start watching my carbs & linking them again and see if I can get back on track. I know I'm carb sensitive, with my PCOS, and need to keep better track of them! I need to refill my Metformin too, or at the very least call my OB and see if they still want me on the same dose. I'm almost 100lbs lighter, so 2000mg might not be necessary anymore.

Must learn from this and move on.

Heya folks!

Sorry, I'm having a bit of a busy weekend - haven't been able to stop in and do personal greetings as I like to do on the weekends.

Hope everyone's well!

First, I salute all y'all's losses this month. Is it just me or do you too think this has been a pretty successful month?

Not for me :( Not awful at all - I've had a little loss, despite a 3-week holding pattern - but not as good as December, and not as good as I'd hoped.

Oh well, I always tell myself I'm not in any rush - time to walk the talk. ;)

As for my report, I'm holding at 203 again, which is my current low. See you all tomorrow morning, the last day of January!

I'm really super hoping I get back down to 178 for the morning, I've been bloated and up for days thanks to some sodium and 1 off meal.
Ran 6 miles yesterday and on point for cals
Ran 11 Miles today and on point for cals.
Here's to hoping for a great end to what I think was a great month for me!

I'm loving everyones progress and those that are struggling- Hang in there, I love how accountable each and everyone of you are!

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend.

My multi-cultural cooking day yesterday was fabulous. We made great food, I ate pretty cleanly and was only up .2 today. We ended the night with karaoke and had an absolute blast. Oh how I wish singing loudly and poorly was a good way to lose weight.

I had a NSV today -- I wore a size 14 pant today; they had lycra, so I don't think this is my real size yet, but it felt pretty great. :)

Ona -- Great job on your .6 loss yesterday and .4 today!

ParadiseFalls -- Hope things 'got moving' for you ;) You've had a great month!

Starbrite -- How long is the commute between Belgium and where you would be in the UK? Sounds like a tough decision. What kind of feedback are you getting from your family?

Athena -- That gain won't stick with you for long...don't sweat it.

Diana -- Way to go on your .4 - I noticed your calories were higher than you usually go, so that worked out great for you!

Have we picked a new name for February yet?

carter
01-31-2011, 08:13 AM
Well folks, I close out the month at 203, a loss of just 3 for January. I am never a quick loser but I did have a couple of months at a 5-6 pound clip so this is a little less progress than I would have liked - 3 weeks without any change in the middle of the month.

I attribute this to not being able to get to the gym nearly enough this month, between work, a cold, and nutty amounts of snow. At least I hope that's what it is - I don't want to have to start adjusting my calories down yet. ;)

Thanks for the daily support everyone! Best of luck to all of you, see you in February!

I see some kashi bars not a bad choice if you want to indulge a bit they usually only have about 120-130 calories and are high in fiber. I tend to have then times a week or prior to gym work outs for my quick carb

I am so frustrated right now. Really frustrated actually. My total weight loss for the month is about 2.8 pounds and I know it's because I messed up! That number could be much higher if I hadn't immediately gained 4 pounds and then worked it off. Why do we gain so much more quickly than we lose? Needless to say, unless I magically drop 4 pounds overnight, January wasn't that good to me :(

No official weigh-in today (I don't weigh on Mondays when I get up so early (4:45 am). I know I ended the month with another gain. Tomorrow I start over. Still have sick grandbabies in my house - and now their mom is sick too. Cut my hair off yesterday. I got an inverted bob with layers. Probably cut 3+ inches off the front and 5+ off the back. I think it looks cuter than the pictures show - but I always feel like I look better than I see in a picture (man, I look old). Oh well.

I've been really bad about checking in this month, but I've been faithfully weighing and recording every day. I'm down 4 lbs for the month, which is about what I was down last month. It's been going slower than I'd like, but I'm still happy.
