hello everyone

new around here, joined the board for some motivation and support. male, living in latin america, early 30's. currently at 5'10" and 245 pounds(already lost 5), gained a lot of weight this last xmass. about 20 pounds after i had lost 10 pounds for the year before that mess.

what can i say? been struggling with weight for nearly my whole life, at one point was in shape until some injuries/accidents and too much stress in school. now been overweight for the last 10 years mainly for overeating bread and depression? always 225-260 pounds and that is too much. the only positive is that i don't look that heavy because i am naturally muscular along with the unwanted fat.

goal is to weight 210 pounds and look very handsome again by the end of the year...don't want to go crazy with a goal too big, still sounds like a lot but i do look fit at that weight :carrot:

oops did i talk too much :dizzy:

Hi, wishing you good luck with your weight loss, did you plan how you were going to do it?

Oh gee I am right there with you. I had been busting my hump at the gym all summer with a trainer and everything. Lost about 16 pounds since November 2009. Now after falling off the wagon after the summer I am at 222. Same trainer weighed me in and I wanted to cry! I have been on an anti-depressant for some time and around that time my dose was doubled and from what I have looked into it can cause metabolism issues and problems with appetite... any how good luck to you and with hard work I know you can do it!

Thanks for the welcome and good wishes Michou :)

yes i think so. lost 5 pounds already this month no exercise yet. breakfast one apple with anything else available but trying to avoid junk food. i snack tomatoes before lunch the lunch is coming late so i don't starve.trying to eat egg plant and meat. food only one serving if it has rice not 2-3 like i used to. i snack something again at 4pm(if there's nothing i eat a big orange or another citrus fruit). dinner salad or soup at 7pm. after that only water.

Fruits and vegetable are excellent choice and do not have too much calories, good for you if you stay away from junk food you will loose more weight and be healthier

Thanks for the wishes smrtypntsmmy. wish you luck to you too.

I am very stubborn...i used to kill myself doing exercise plus walk/jug for hours to later gain it again. ages ago i lost from 215 to 170 by running but eating like crazy(tons of bread, pizza, anything you can imagine). of course when i was too busy i gain the weight back and more.

this time less exercise but i'm going to eat well. it will be gradual.
