Good Morning:sunny:

It's the first Wednesday morning! I am going to bed at some point. We had a whirlwind of a day and decided to travel tonight before the next wave of storms hit. It was already snowing quite hard atop Vail Pass so it was nice not to deal with traffic. I could actually take the day off since I'm ahead of schedule!

Tuesday was OP despite an extra bit of stress, which is always encouraging. Take care everyone! Let's eat OP today and get out and move a little bit!

Woo Hoo Debbie....and snow is a comin!

Today, I have been married, happily, 26 years!

Emotions play a major role in weight loss. Happy, sad, frustrated, stress and every other emotion.
We can't control how we feel but we can control what we eat.
Comfort foods, chocolate and favorite goodies can help for the time that you are eating them but afterward we feel guilt, more frustration and just plain terrible.
Let's learn to DO something instead of EATING something.
Go for a walk, call a friend, read and post.
You can do this, I have faith in you.

Store day for me and my store has a lot of 10 for $10 items today! Lots of fruits and veggies.
New recipes here I come.

Haven't been asked out today so I just may have to cook!

Make today a great one. :mouse: Marcie

Debbie, what is today the first Wednesday of?

Marcie, I love your posts. They're like the tear-off-one-a-day calendars but more eco-friendly. :) Happy anniversary!

Started off today with an asparagus and tomato omelet and rye toast. Yummy! I even had some veggies left over so I'll snack on them later. My kids are at school and the baby is fed and napping so I need to get to my chores for the day - upstairs bathroom and bedrooms, here I come!

01-19-2011, 05:53 AM
TY Kara. Awe cleaning...burn some calories. Have a nice rest of your day. :mouse:

01-19-2011, 06:30 AM
Shhhhhhh! Some of us are sleeping. You Colorado chickies should be sleeping too! Good work on fighting the "monster", Debbie. Happy Anniversary to you and Lou, Marcie.

Breakfast sounds great, Kara. I wish I had asparagus right now so I could copy. Ours comes from Peru. Where does yours comes from over there?

We had just a bit of freezing rain yesterday so I got my morning and afternoon trips done. Today is simple - pet therapy at noon and banking in the same town. I love when that happens! I really, really want to get some quilting done this afternoon as I have not touched it since Christmas despite lots of good intentions. I like nothing better than working at the machine with a cup of tea and two happy dogs watching for cat out the deck door! ** Sigh ** Maybe it'll happen today.

I'm off for breakfast. I don't have asparagus but do have spinach so may do an omelet for a change.

Happy Hump Day! :cofdate:

01-19-2011, 06:44 AM
Ruth, ours comes from Peru as well! I was really surprised when I looked at the package this morning because most of our produce comes from Spain.

01-19-2011, 06:58 AM
Good morning all! Kara, I always admire how organized you are with your chores. I imagine your household must run very smoothly. Mine does too, but I have only 1 kid and a cleaning lady :-) which makes it easier.

My cold has virtually disappeared but AF is still NOT here and I just really hope she comes before my weigh in on Friday, because I'm retaining a S-L of water. I also really, really need to get back to exercise now that my cold is done. The weather is warmer so today maybe I'll take a walk during lunch.

The prices finally went down, so I booked our Texas trip yesterday - whoo hoo! Something to look forward to. Hope everyone has a great day!

01-19-2011, 07:26 AM
Happy Hump Day!

Debbie ~ I'm wondering what you mean by first Wednesday, too. Fill us in! I'm glad you didn't run into any traffic on your trip over the mountain, and kudos for being ahead of your schedule! Enjoy some free time today!

Marcie ~ Happy Anniversary!

Kara ~ mmmmm, your omelet sounds good! It reminds me of Cape May and my favorite restaurant, where I always order their asparagus, tomato and cream cheese omelet. :) If I didn't already have my oatmeal made, I'd be tempted to make one for breakfast, but I'd have to use frozen asparagus. Perhaps tomorrow. ;)

Ruth ~ I hope you get the chance to do some quilting today. What a perfect way to spend a cold, wintry day!

Matilda ~ I'm glad your cold is finally better, and woohoo for the airline tickets!

We have a little black ice this morning, but it should be out of here by the time I leave. I ended up staying home yesterday, and I got a lot of stuff done, but I felt guilty about taking the day off. I'd try to make up the time on Friday, but we're supposed to get yet another storm that day. It looks like it's going to be long winter.

01-19-2011, 07:32 AM
Just want to check in....I am running late so no time for personals but I hope you all have a great Wednesday! Hope to get back here later today!

01-19-2011, 07:34 AM
Good morning!

You ladies have your day all planned and I'm still rubbing the sleep out of my eyes!

Actually, my day is all planned too - I never get to plan them myself anymore. I've got my call back mammo at 7:30 this morning. I'll be very relieved to have that over with, I used to get lots of call backs when they still used films and it was never more than calcification. But this is my first call back since they went digital so I'm a little bit uneasy. They're especially cautious I think, because my mom is a breast cancer survivor. But I suppose that's also why I get so uneasy over call backs.

We got lucky with this storm. No days to make up in June! School is on, with an hour delay this morning. I'm going to be on the run all day, but maybe I'll burn off some of the snacks I kept munching on last night while I was thinking about the call back. I'll rush to school from the hospital and I've got a training after school and youth group tonight. I'm hoping to squeeze some wii fit time in between school and heading back to town, but that will depend on how late the training goes tonight. I've got some yummy chicken chili and a nice, crisp apple for lunch though, so I'm heading out the door happy.

Fergie's got the car warming up so I need to go. Debbie - enjoy your first Wednesday! (I'm also curious) Happy Anniversary Marcie and Lou. Ruth - I hope you get to your quilting today, and Matilda Hooray for the tickets! Hello to the rest of you!

Have a great Wednesday friends!

01-19-2011, 07:35 AM
I'm running late, but wanted to check in:

1) I've started the 100 push ups program (
2) And I've adapted the 200 squats program, doing kettlebell swings instead
3) Well, swinging hand-weights as I don't own a kettlebell yet
4) Less than 2 weeks to C25K!
5) Lists should always end with an odd number. So there!

Hope everyone has a great on plan and active day! :)

01-19-2011, 07:39 AM
Good morning!

Lexiss - great job staying OP!

LWindsong - I agree with Kara...great words! Happy Anniversary!

Kara - so good to see you on here again! And I LOVE seeing the pics of handsome!!

Ruth - sounds like a slow day for you. Hope you get to quilt a bit!

MMK - "S-L". That made me laugh. I hear ya!!

Cottage - we have the black ice today too. DH just told me it's slick as....blank out there! Drive safe!

Me - I check in all the time, but wow you ladies are a chatty bunch!! :D Took the DH away this past weekend and ate poorly...I am stunned by the amount of water weight I can gain in a short time. I've lost 3 lbs in 2 days to get rid of it again!! What I really need to do is get rid of the cashews, and not eat past 8 pm. That would help a bunch!

We have a 2 hour delay here with the roads, I find them kinda fun. I just go to work late, let the kids sleep in. If I can motivate myself, I'll get on the treadmill. I'm getting better at cross training, I picked up a stationary bike stand (so my bike is on it) a couple of months ago, and just picked up a nordic trak on craigslist. WOO HOO!!

Have a great day!

01-19-2011, 07:43 AM
Good Morning all :)

I made it through Day 2 with no cheating, despite cravings. Orange sugar free jello once again came to the rescue ;).

Gym this morning, I have a headache from yesterday but I'm going to work through it, quite tired too despite a good 7 hours of sleep.

Happy Anniversary Lady Windsong!

Happy hump day all.

01-19-2011, 07:44 AM
Good morning :coffee2: I'm kind of a zombie this morning. I was awake during the night and fell back to sleep half an hour before the alarm went off. That never works for me. Now I'm just waiting for daylight so I can get out and shovel. Apparently we have quite a bit of black ice here too and lots of schools are on 2 hour delays. Ah the joys of winter :brr:

Have an easy and safe hump day friends

01-19-2011, 07:55 AM
Mathilda, I'm glad your cold is gone and yay for a trip planned!

Linda, what's your favorite restaurant in Cape May? We love the Chalfonte for old times' sake (my parents used to take us there every summer and I worked there one year), but Mangia Mangia is my favorite with that vegetarian place a close second.

Hi Lisa!

Heidi, good luck with your appointment. How soon will you have the results?

Annie, I loved your list! I did the 100 Burpee challenge with a friend last year. I hated it by the end. LOL Hopefully your push-up challenge is more fun!

Tammy, I have a soft spot for cashews, too. They're so delicious!

LAK, hope your headache goes away. It's pretty common to feel crummy the first couple days of Phase 1 but you should be feeling better as the week rolls on.

Cyndi, I'm sorry you didn't have good sleep last night. Hopefully today goes quickly for you and you can get some good rest tonight!

01-19-2011, 08:35 AM
Kara ~ My favorite restaurant for breakfast in Cape May is McGlades. I love having breakfast on the deck overlooking the ocean and watching the sunrise. Mangia Mangia is one of our favorite places for supper, too. :)

01-19-2011, 08:44 AM
Good Morning:sunny:

It's second Wednesday now! I've slept for 7 hours since my last post on Wednesday. Glad I got to keep ya'll wondering! I'd love to get to some personals since I should still be cleaning my house and packing the car 130 miles West.

First, for my second, is coffee:coffee: Be back!

01-19-2011, 09:17 AM
Good morning!

Debbie - I hope you stay save and sound and snug. That storm is probably the same one due here about midday.

Marcie - Happy anniversary!

Kara - Such a cute ticker.

Ruth - I envy you for having a hobby you love like that. You paint a pretty picture... except I kept waiting for the dogs to run around and knock the tea onto the quilt!

Matilda - Glad you are feeling better. Texas!

Linda - I think that storm is the one coming here today and that Debbie got too. Working its way east. I always am interested to hear your weather since my son is so close by.

Lisa - Have a great one!

Heidi - How funny that today my son is hoping that schools dismiss early for snow! I am not holding my breath. Hope the mammo is routine.

Annie - Wow - that's a lot of exercise! Good for you!

Twynn - I need to join you on not eating at night.

LAK - Good for you!

Cyndi - Be careful out there!

I am happy to report that my belly turned the corner yesterday, if that makes sense, and is feeling noticeably better. Which I need to clarify for my husband/nursemaid does NOT mean it does not hurt or that I no longer need his help. Sigh. He was a great bean masher - mush stronger and faster than me. My eating has been very good all week but it took until today to get back to what I weighed pre-surgery. I guess it is whatever the pump into you and things that back up, if you know what I mean. Nights are still rough and someone snoring next to me is not helping! Oh well.

So... I decided to try meditation since I can't exercise. If anyone has any tips please share them.

Have a great day everyone.

01-19-2011, 09:30 AM
:thanks: you for the Anniversary wishes. Off to the grocery store.

You should see what God and Mom sent to me...a gorgeous FULL moon.

01-19-2011, 09:32 AM
Apparently I am the lazy Coloradian, but I would like to note it is only 6:30 a.m. :)

Today is a jam packed day. I have two extra meetings. One is during school with district personel. Our district got in trouble with the Office of Civil Rights, so we now all have these long meetings. Then after school we have professional development. Somewhere in there I am supposed to teach.

However, it sounds like everyone is busy. Have a great Wednesday!!!

01-19-2011, 09:57 AM
Marcie(LadyWindsong), Congratulations on 26 years! Perhaps you will have to cook, but to tell the truth, I enjoy a celebratory meal at home just as much these days. Thx for the message this am. I agree, let's learn to Do something instead of EATING something!

Kara, it's so nice to have you back. Many of us already know, but the newcomers will learn soon about cleaning as

Ruth, glad to hear you have a simple day. Start fitting that quilting in because we'll be gardening in no time.

Matilda(Mmckellen), glad you got your tickets and I hope you get a lunch time walk.

Linda(cottagebythesea), think spring! I hope the black ice doesn't last.

Lisa(litar), thanks for checking in despite a busy day!

Heidi, my mom and sis are BC survivors so I think about that, too. Great that you have your busy day all planned out.

Annie, I'm in awe of your starting the 100 push ups program. I started to read from your link and will read more today. You are really losing and I know your dedication to exercise has a lot to do with it!

Tammy(Twynn), glad you got a little home time in this morning!

LAK1974, congrats! on making it through day 2! Your mentioned cravings are why it's so important to get through P1-clean. ...they go away.

Cyndi, sorry to hear about your lack of sleep. I hope you have a smooth day and can sleep better tonight.

Karen(WaistingTime), I'm glad to hear you've turned the corner and are entering a new phase of recovery. I do well with guided meditation in my yoga class, but not so well on my own. I think a big part of doing it on your own is creating a practice then sticking with it. It's about making time, for me.

tanner'smom, lol at being the lazy Coloradoan. 630 is plenty early! Thanks for the suggestion about the museum. I'm going to look at it online later today.

01-19-2011, 10:03 AM
Be careful out there Lexxiss.. Good morning ladies..Been OP lately too.. But,
TTOM is here.. 2nd day.. So, water weight.. 217.4 Just drinking my coffee..
1st cup.. I am off work today.. Yeah, for me!! Not much to do today.. So, all is good for me.. Just playing on the computer for Take care all...

01-19-2011, 11:05 AM
Good Morning! :brr: Springfield was a bit icy this morning. SURPRIIIIIIISE! We're supposed to get 2-4" of snow between tonight and tomorrow night. AGAIN. Have I mentioned I'm ready for warmer weather?

Just finished Lysoling the crap out of my desk. People come in sick, they bring their KIDS in sick, and I have had it with everyone being sick! I am healthy and I plan to stay that way. If you were a family of germs on my desk this morning, God help you. RIP.

So yeah, people out today for various reasons so we're short-staffed. I should get some work done. Wheeee! At least it keeps me busy! And it's job security ;)

I hope everyone is having a good day! One of these days I'll have time for personals.....

Oh and if you see my friend "thefrenchgirl" tell her HELLO. She's one of my girlfriends. :D

Have a good one!

01-19-2011, 11:28 AM
WOW!!! Happy busy Wednesday everyone!!

I'm WFH today due to a sick little boy - we think it's the flu *grrrr*
What a frustrating week; too long to go into, but the in-laws are driving me nuts, and then DH offered to stay home with Ben this morning, and when I took him up on it he made it clear that it had been a courtesy only offer  WTF

I have Friday off as well, making this a 2 days in the office week; wish I were going somewhere warm instead of taking all this time to stay home with the kiddos :dizzy:

01-19-2011, 11:54 AM
 Thanks for the shout out Weezle! I'm doing well and I'm happy with my progress. I'm enjoying looking at the progress pictures that have been posted. It's encouraging to me that others have been successful! :jig: I am studying Phase 2 tips right now. :book2: Also, I'm having great fun with these little picture guys. :yay:

01-19-2011, 12:37 PM
Whew!!! Lot's of posts that is great but I don't have time to reply except for:

Windsong Happy Anniversary!!!

DD2 tooth extractions went well, when I picked up from school she had already lost the third tooth, so the tooth fairy picked up 3 teeth last night ;)

We are expecting 3 to 6 inches here so if so I will wfh tomorrow, atleast I have that option so that is good.

Have a great day everyone and keep on posting :)

01-19-2011, 01:33 PM
You guys get so active so early! wow! Sorry I can't reply personally, but I enjoyed the updates. The only reason why I am even on here at all is because we got another snow day today. Now we only have two left! I just wish we'd get above freezing! I'm tired of the cold!

01-19-2011, 01:47 PM
Frenchie! Fifi le Fouf! ;) Yeah I dig the smiley guys too. They're a LOT of fun!

Itt sounds like a TB ward here at work. If you're dying of the plague, please don't come to work. I'm about to start doing things in fours, it's making me so crazy :lol3: Ick ick ick ick germs germs germs germs!

So I bought myself a Kindle with my Christmas money, and it came last night. I LOVE IT!!!! There are so many ebooks you can download for free. I had NO CLUE! I downloaded the Bible, a Bible study regarding relationships with God and food, 6 novels, 2 games, and a 25 language phrase book (Mi dia una birra, si prega!) for free last night. Hot diggity dog! I'm already through Chapter 14 of Genesis.... the Bible is a much more interesting read as an adult!

Anyhoozle just a quick pop-in - heading out in a sec. Hope everyone's keeping warm :D

01-19-2011, 02:15 PM
Wow, lots of chatter today.

Last night I ate WAY too much steak. But oh it was sooo good. And there were worse things I could have eaten (I'm looking at you baked potato!) so ah well. I suffered the dreaded "oh noes, my scale" woes.... but I am on plan so I think I'll be ok in a few days. Also- must be good today in the calorie department.

I got freaked out about agave nectar, aspartame, and splenda. I've decided to try honey. I am worried that this might throw me for a loop, BUT two days into this experiment I haven't ravenously set upon some hapless cupcakes, soooo.... maybe it's ok?

Well, we'll see. I just don't want to put anything bad into my body. Whole foods, whole grains, less chemicals. I want to start my family soon. :)

01-19-2011, 06:26 PM
Hey there! I'm anxious about getting job interviews! I still have school coming up so that'll occupy me some. I've been eating on plan.

01-19-2011, 06:32 PM
Hi everyone hope you are all having a good day. I usually don't sit down to read everyone's posts until after lunch and by then there are so many posts it's kind of intimidating, but I do read them. I just dont post myself. It's probably a result of the years just lurking.
My plans for the day were sabotaged when DD called from work this morning to tell me DGS threw up in the car on the way to preschool so SIL(soon to be ex SIL) was bringing him to my house. Of course the poor little guy was covered in vomit. I had to strip him down, give him a bath and wash his clothes. Luckily I keep extra clothes here for him. SIL works from home, you would think he could have at least taken him home first and cleaned him up. I guess that's one of the many reasons he is soon to be ex SIL. Fortunately DGS doesnt seem too sick but I didnt want to take him anywhere today so we've just been hanging out, which isn't always a good thing when it comes to my eating, but I'm staying strong.

Congratulations Marcie, have a great Anniversary, and thanks for your positive, inspirational posts.

01-19-2011, 06:57 PM
Sharonej, hope your grandson gets better.

01-19-2011, 07:13 PM
Hi All!

Sharonej, yuk! Hope DGS feels better soon. I'm glad you said hi....I know you're posting on the OP thread...but I rarely get there either.

Thanks everyone for posting! Personals or apologies aren't required. I'm good in the morning because I get up so early but this time of day not so good.

I did something interesting today. I called our local food pantry and volunteered. It ends up they could use as many hours as I'd be willing to give. I'll figure out my schedule. It kept me moving and kept me from boredom eating, too. Wow! the blizzard is here and heading East, I'm sure.

:welcome2: to the french girl! Fun that you work with Weezle. Thanks for popping in!

01-19-2011, 07:55 PM
:welcome: the french girl!

Heidi ~ I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get the all clear sign from your mammo call-back. :crossed:
