Default I just threw away all chocolate in house!

Ok, so I am pretty proud of myself!
I just threw out all chocolate, candy, and ice cream in my house that tempts me everyday!
I still had candy from halloween, chocolates from christmas, and some ice cream in the freezer. Everyday I try so hard to stay away from it...but it's like if I have one thought about stupid chocolate...I have to get some. Plus every night after dinner, I always want something sweet and I go straight for it.
Well being new to the forum and starting this new lifestyle, I went in the kitchen and threw it all away this evening!!! (my husband wasn't too happy though...lol)
But I'm glad I did it cuz it wasn't easy!

LOL haha, I had that same thought...but I told myself if I ate it thats just more I'd have to lose and will just delay me even more from losing it! That's one reason my hubby was mad, he's like your wasting food! I said yeah food that's horrible for you!! lol

Good for you! I have had to do this before when I get chocolate as gifts, or I try and leave it at my moms house before I take it home. haha. If I have it in the house I will probably end up eating it slowly so I just throw it out to get rid of the temptation!

That's great! I try not to haveit either, but my husband has a sweet tooth and somehow it always ends up back in the house. At least he started buying stuff that I don't like!

That's really good. You did the right thing!
I had to do the same thing too. At Christmas I told my grown kids no chocolate or candy in mine or your Dad's stockings. They gave me body lotions and candles and him beef jerky and salty treats because salty things are not my problem...sweets are! I am a sweet freak. I love sweets and chocolate.
At Halloween time I had a meltdown and cried in the walmart when I saw all the displays of candy it's true.
I also had a long talk with my huband. I explained to him about my wanting to be healthy and live to enjoy our granchildren- when we have one some day. And I asked him to help me by not bringing sweets into our house. I told him he could see sweets on the side- I just don't want to know about it. He has been awesome! He helps me and even enjoys the healthy new way of my cooking. He loves baked fish and salads.
Your doing great!

Wow, nice willpower! My method of "throwing it away" is usually eating it all in one night

Thanks all!
Ashley829, that is exactly my problem. if there is sweets in the house, I might not eat them all in one night but I WILL eat them....no doubt.

Beerab, I won't be buying anymore!!! I'll be danged if I put all this work into losing it to go back and buy it and gain it all back...I'll be remembering that if I get tempted...plus this site is already a huge help to keep me on track!

1skinnysoul...lol... thats a good thing!! my hubby has done the same thing. (although my sweet tooth is way bigger than his) But he brings me back debbie cakes, candy bars, etc. when he runs to the store cuz he knows I love them. i told him no more cuz I don't love them anymore lol

Ashley777...we had a huge 5 dollar bag of just snickers and another one of reeses...those little bite size ones. I will munch on them almost everyday but I will usually only eat 3-4 a day and i don't do it everyday. Hubby hasn't ate on them much...he's not a sweet fanatic like I am. And hubby got me a box of those rich chocolates that are more expensive for christmas....i had almost finished the box but threw it out with like 5 chocolates left so I was close...lol

goal4agirl....I am the same way you are! If chocolate gets on my mind or sweets...its over. I bought gum to try to help the sweet craving and also sugar free chocolate candy. I never have to have a bunch of chocolate or sweets, I just gotta get a taste of it then I'm usually okay. But problem is I use to get way to much tastes of it lol I told Hubby same thing last night so I hope he follows it...we will see.....i sure hope he does! Good job for all your resistence though....that helps me big time...I know if someone else out there can do it and is doing it right now...then i can too!

Paradisefalls....thank you!!! lol that had been crossing my mind the last few days until last night I just went in kitchen and did it without thinking about it...it felt good to just not finish it although I'm not to sure I'll be thinking that next time I want something sweet lol

Thank you Hilariousness....it's just one day at a time. I'm just beginning this journey...I hope to stay on the right track! We all can do this....we all have strength within and support around us. I love a quote I read on here last night someone else had posted...

If you want to lose weight, you will find a way.
If you don't want to, you'll find an excuse.
It's up to you!

That has now been posted to my fridge lol
