Today marks exactly 19 weeks until Memorial weekend - at the start of summer! I know I can't wait!

Feel free to join right in! Your goals can be anything - weight related, size, exercise - whatever!

I'm starting at about 260lbs size 2x/18, and over the next five months, want to lose 40 lbs, and/or be a size 14, whichever is smaller :)

I want this to be the best summer ever!

We're starting our summer at the beach on Memorial Day weekend, and this challenge is perfect!

I want to be able to buy a bathing suit for this trip - the first suit in years and years.

I would love to join! I started my journey last memorial day and have lost 45 lbs since then (i technically lost almost 60 but feel off plan and gained some back :( ) So memorial day will mark my one year anniversary since I started all of this! My starting weight was 260 and now i am 217. I would love to be 190 by april 26th (my anniversary) and 180 by Memorial Day :) My overall goal when i started this was to be 160 by memorial day (lose100 lbs in 1 year) but thats not going to happen and thats ok! Im not going to give up even tho i horribly fell off plan. Tomorrow is a new day and Now I have you guys to check in with :) :)

c laura - doing couch to 5k, or your own thing? I was thinking about transitioning to walk/run again...

welcome monster! congrats on your previous loss- you're already accomplished so much, and way to not give up :) we're right here for you :cheer:

So I ate dinner, workouts done for the day, now time to relax and get ready for work. I'm going to bring some good snacks so I don't overeat or get too hungry for the morning. Hopefully it will be a quiet night!

I know I'm jumping in a few days late but I would love to join this challenge. My ideal goal for Memorial Day would be to weigh 130lbs. My starting weight as of today is 142.2. This puts me past my original ultimate goal, but I feel like 130lbs may be the perfect weight for me.

How often are we reporting our results??

Hopeful - never too late! Welcome! And congrats on your loss so far :cheer:

I weigh in weekly, on Sunday - you can do the same, or daily, or whatever suits you! Some don't have weight-related goals, so we're just winging it :)

My goal is to have arm muscles. My arms have looked awful since I've had to give up my gym membership. Hopefully Jillian's DVDs will whip me into shape.

I would like to join in! Memorial Day is a great end point for me. The start of my summer break and I want to be at goal and loving it!

I just weighed today and I'm 154.4 lbs. I want to get to 138 lbs., running my little heart out and toned!

We can do this! This will be a great summer.

hey decapulet...the last time I tried C25K it was an utter failure, and I was in much better shape then than I am now. I've decided to get to a point where I can walk 5 miles at a quick pace and then try the interval program again.

I did my 2 miles last night, and I'm thinking I'll go for 3 tonight....and weights.

I hope everyone has a good day.

 to you to Madam!

This morning in southern NYS, summer seems so far away. Wet, snowy, SLUSHY mess! I'm glad I don't workout outdoors this time of year!

So I found a local rock-climbing place - and that's my reward for completing this challenge! I'm going to take my husband and friend for a climb! It's something I've never really done because I haven't had the courage to; I never felt strong enough. But I think I can build the strength I need, not just physically, but mentally too :)

I'm excited! I'm ready to be more adventurous with physical activities. In the last three years, I've traveled for the first time, crossed the United States by myself in a car, lived w/o my husband and kids for 3 months (sooooo hard!) and taken on a very challenging grad school program (almost done :) I'm ready to be in my best shape ever, and enjoy all those benefits!

Everyone have a wonderful day!

Another two miles down...it was kind of disheartening to realize how out of shape I am today on day three. As I got ready for work this morning I thought my legs were going to rebel against me. Thanks to my exercise buddy in RL I worked out again tonight and I'm so glad...I'm tired but in that great I've exercised and feel accomplished kind of way.

decapulet--normally Nashville winters are pretty mild (mid 40s) but this years it's been cold and wet...not great for outdoors so I've been keeping track inside. Your rock climbing place seems cool. I've decided that in the summer I'm going to recruit some friends to go white water rafting with me... adventurous activities are one thing I look forward to doing, since I've always thought I wasn't in good enough shape to try them....

I'm thinking about trying Zumba dvd's - I saw a clip last night, and it's got me intrigued. I think I might need something new and fun. JM is great for butt kicking, but it gets a little routine after a while.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all having a good week so far.

I got in another three miles last night and I'm aiming for 3 more tonight. I'm excited because I discovered that wrapping my ankle before I exercise lets me work harder and longer without pain after so I'm feeling REALLY good about that.

HI Everyone!
Today is going great! Started by day off with Turbo Jam and ate what I brought for breakfast. I say that because there was bagels and donuts at the office and I was able to stay away.
MadamButterfly- Just noticed the butter stats. Great anology. That's a lot of butter.
Hope everyone is having a great day.

Madam - what kind of soup? I could use some good ideas. I'm currently in a soup making mood!

c laura - glad you found a may to make things work!

Lee- good for you - those office treats can be killer! My office got a new boss, so there were gooey cakes, bagels, cookies.... But I too said no! Nice job :)

I've eaten on plan today, now going 13 days strong, probably my LONGEST ever. I really do like low carb, and I'm learning to be more creative with my food. And the best part is, my family is really embracing it too. Tonight we had chicken and shrimp stir fry with TONS of veggies, and they had small portions of brown rice. My son has dropped eight lbs since I've started (and should not be losing any more - which is great cause he's happy about it) and my daughter has a slightly smaller tummy (we were not pushing her to lose weight, she's only 6. But as I have been eating better, she naturally is getting leaner). My husband is not losing, but he's also not trying and happy with that. (other issues at play here)

So ANYWAY - i'm getting the silent support i need here at home too :)

Hi all;

Dcap: I love making soup, today it started out just being veggie soup, green beans, corn, carrots, celery, onion, cabbage and anything else hanging out in the fridge . . . then i decided to add wild rice, then I had some leftover chicken breasts and pulled them apart and added that. No "regular" chicken wild rice soup usually calls for cream and a roux of flour and butter but I don't really like the cream soups anymore, soooooooo I left it as it was, added salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder and cumin, then let it simmer most of the day. I warm up 4 corn tortilla in the microwave (they are 60 calores for two, about 6" across) and chow down. I like to use the tortillas instead of saltines . . . better for you and makes it more filling and you will definitely get all your veggies in if you make this . . .

Another favorite of mine is bean soup, just use a can or two of pinto beans, onion, jalapeno (I remove the seeds), garlic, a little salt. Saute the onions & peppers in just a little oil until they are tender, dump the beans on top and add about 1 can of water for each can of beans. Let is simmer for a bit and I will eat this either with corn bread or corn tortillas. Good protein and very filling . . you can add a little salsa too if you want (either Valentino's or Cholula hot sauce) just for an added little kick. (if you like spicy)

These are my two favorite recipes, both can be made in a crock pot and frozen easily . . .

Just a quick edit to say GREAT JOB RESISTING THOSE OFFICE GOODIES, you should be sooooo proud!!!

Summer is coming, summer is coming, summer is coming . . . it's soooooo cold here, dang wind . . . summer IS coming . . . I just have to believe and I'm going to be READY!!

Oh and :welcome: spunkystar

This was my first week at a new school and I am loving the possitive atmosphere. A bonus is that there are a lot of stairs, and the school is huge, so while traveling with students I am getting a lot of extra steps in my day.

I have been eating on plan, but I will need to start thinking about some more interesting lunches soon.

Hi Spunky - Welcome!!

Madam - thanks for the ideas - they sound SOOO good!

Envelope - Glad you like school! Being in a new place can really throw me, so I'm glad you're adjusting. It's like you read my mind about lunches - for some reason, I just CAN'T wrap my mind around making a good, satisfying lunch. I have all the stuff, but it's like i blank when the time comes. I might just have to make it in advance.

I'm worn out - but i know i should exercise. I'm trying to get up the energy to do it.

Hope everyone's taking it easy out there!

Wow ladies, a week sure flies by fast . . . Our first weigh in tomorrow . . . I have been good all week, food and exercise wise, let's hope the scale angels visit me in the morning . . . I will take whatever it says . . . <sigh> If it's not down much then it will be down more next week, 1 stick of butter at a time . . . . I had a big drop last week so I'm not really expecting a whole lot, all I know is that it is trending downward and that's what we are going for . . . but I have been doing Zumba this week in addition to my normal workout :belly:

Hope everyone is doing well, just keep moving, don't quit and MELT THAT BUTTER AWAY . . . :carrot: :broc:

Madam - it's funny, my week didn't fly at all. Yet here we are, are the eve of the first WI...

Honestly, I'm not sure how I'm going to do. I've been OP, but TOM (pseudo) is creeping up on me, making me want to eat EVERYTHING. Granted, there's not a lot of garbage in the house, but still, overloading on anything is a bad idea. But I'm working on it :)

I'd like to jump in! I'm just off of a self-imposed break/setback (gained 7 pounds after flirting with Onederland!) and I need something to help keep me motivated now that I'm back. I've been bad with keeping up with challenges, but I'm desperate to lose a significant amount of weight by Spring/Summer, so I'm hoping that I can stay motivated through this one. I want to be able to wear real Spring and Summer clothes instead of covering up!

I'm going for a loss of 40 lbs. I already weighed in Thursday, so when I weigh in later today it'll probably be similar to what's on my ticker. Hopefully I've lost something, seeing as I've exercised for 20-50 mins over the last four days (although I'm still easing into limiting my caloric intake again after my crazy binge last month :dizzy:).

Anyway, good luck everyone! ;)

How's everyone else doing?????

Thanks for the welcome, dcapulet!

I'm down one pound from Thursday. I'll take it, especially considering I've been gaining up until now. I can't wait until I really get back into the swing of things!

I have to be careful today. Today is the Bears/Packers game and I will have lots of those pesky snacks around me. I'll need some willpower today!

dcapulet
01-23-2011, 12:14 PM
northern - I'm with you on the snacks idea. My son is a HUGE Jet fan, and he asked me to make goodies for the game. Normally, it would be homemade wings with LOTS of butter, chips, dip and BEER. But instead -

Boneless skinless buffalo chicken salad with blue cheese and celery
Hummus dip with veggies
Crystal light lemonade/ice tea

Sending willpower your way!

dcapulet, thanks! I'll certainly need it! There'll be chips, dips, cupcakes, Italian beef sandwiches, pop, etc. I already know which things I'll definitely be avoiding, but everything else I'll just eat in moderation with my calorie allowance in mind. It also helps me to eat something healthy/slightly filling before going around all those snacks in order take the edge off of any cravings I might have.

I love that you're going with the health-conscious snacks. That buffalo chicken salad sounds amazing! Would you mind sharing how you prepare it? I'd love to try that sometime!

Well another weekend has just flown past me...I'm headed to a gym this afternoon. I made a deal with my exercise buddy that I'd go to the gym with her this weekend if she would workout with me next weekend...we'll see how it goes.

Wow, congrats, guys! No gains. Even if you lost one pound or none, it's better than a gain!

I was able to avoid sabotaging myself around all the snacks today (probably because watching the Bears game, which we lost, caused me too much anxiety for me to pig out!). I did have all junk food, but I haven't gone over my calorie allowance (1400 cals), although I think I'll only be able to have a bowl of Cheerios for dinner tonight, lol.

Holy cow! There's so many new faces!!

Welcome everyone!!!

Northern - Buffalo chicken - really simple - cook a chicken breast (i season with only salt and pepper) Cut into strips or cubes, and toss in buffalo sauce (I use Nance's - I used to make my own, but the recipe calls for LOTs of butter, so I get a low-fat sauce now) and place over salad greens and tomatoes. You can then use bleu cheese dressing, but i just add two tablespoons of fresh, crumbled bleu right over it. And enjoy!!

My son didn't even miss the chips - I went out to get my daughter ready for bed, and the bowl of cauliflower, broccoli and carrots (he hates those them most) were ALL gone, along with my homemade hummus! So it was a success!

Here's to a wonderful week ladies!!

Madam, yeah, I'm not much of a football fan either, really. I only watch the Bears. While people are very excited for the Packers in Wisconsin, many Chicagoans are hoping for a Steelers win and there is even more animosity towards the Packers here, if that's even possible, lol. I thought we could pull it out towards the end and at least tie the game, but it just wasn't meant to be. So close, but it was just too little, too late.

I can't help much with the hummus question, as I've never made it before. I know that it involves mashed chickpeas and some seasonings. I'm sure dcapulet would be willing to help you out there!

Diamond - Nice to see more people joining the challenge! I'd love to see myself in some cute Spring and Summer clothes, too. It's my biggest motivator right now!

I'd also like in on this challenge.
I think 22lbs would work for me - that is 1-2 /wk which is achievable. I need a specific target, both date wise and weight wise. This puts me at a healthy BMI and a good portion of the way toward my goal. This also gives me a long term goal (Memorial Day) and weekly goal deadlines to hit the 2 lb marks. By Mem. Day it will be great to be fit, toned, and shorts-ready. I will be deep into mountain biking by then so that will help with the weight loss by then, too.
I think I'll keep the Sunday weigh ins, because I will be weighing on the gym scales from now on out, and this gives me incentive to get to the gym on Sundays!

Hi Everyone;

I can't believe it, BUT I'm going to take a day off of exercising, it's been about 3 weeks since I've taken a break, BUT my body says REST soooooo . . .
one day of rest today . . . I've been doing my regular workout and then going to the neighbors to do another 20 minute ZUMBA Wii :belly: My neighbor has been talking about losing weight for a few years now and this is the first actual effort she has put forth so I'm trying to be supportive and workout with her . . . eight straight days I've done the extra and it's been good, but now the body says rest. She agreed, her body needs a little rest too (as she hasn't worked out at all for who knows how long, but she said tomorrow, bodies and minds able we will do 2 20 minute workouts . . . I'm just glad she is motivated now.

Northern Belle - hang in there, it's going in the right direction now . . .

Enygirl - I wouldn't worry toooooo much about the 1 pound, I weigh EVERY day (OK several times a day, hehehhehe) and I am beginning to see a pattern . . . I will stay at the same weight for 2-4 days, then gain about a pound for a couple days then drop 2 lbs and then the next day drop 1/2 to 1 pound more . . . then I'll stay there a few days and the cycle repeats . . . just hang in there, make the good choices and keep goin'

dcap - THANKS for the recipe . . . this weekend is Buffalo chicken and Hummus with lots of veggies and I may even bake up some corn tortillas into chips . . . I can't wait . . . mmmmm, mmmmmm Good!!

Everyone - just keep moving, TRY to make good choices and if foo-pah then realize it quickly and go on . . .

WE CAN DO THIS!!

Good morning ladies, just wanted to do a quick check-in today. I had a terrible but oh so delicious weekend. I gained a few but as of today I'm back down to 141. I pulled a muscle in my back a few weeks ago and every now and then I'm getting some residual pain, last night was horrible. So I'm taking the morning off to relax and then I'll be hitting the gym this afternoon. I'm still 1 pound away from goal and I'm absolutely craving the 130's.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and rest of the week!

So this has been a pretty ****** 10 days.

I'm losing my job on Friday. I mean, I've known about this for a while (my company is moving cross country), but I've basically been sitting on the couch every night, paralyzed by anxiety. The good news is that I haven't gained any weight. And I've tracked my points pretty well. So that's helpful.

I need to move!!! I'm not depressed -- just worried. So tomorrow's goal is to work out for 45 minutes. Whatever it is -- DVD, treadmill (there's one in my building), whatever. Just to do SOMETHING.

Hi everyone, yup I took a day of rest (I was sooooooooooooo sick) (No details) but only missed 1 day of exercise, although today was a little half hearted, I did it . . . should be 100% by tomorrow.

dcap: I am starting to tire of JM also that's why I started the ZUMBA, it's a lot of fun and even more fun with a friend. I also do a kathy Smith video (I don't really like her, her voice is annoying to me, UGH) but this is a boxing video with Michael Olvidare (or something like that) he has a patch on one eye and the workout is phenomenal!! (and kathy does almost NO talking, the boxer guy does it all) I can't do it very well, but I try . . . there is also a kickboxing workout that I like, but Kathy is talking a lot in that one, hang on . . . I went to look, it's called Cardio Knockout . . . I bought it for 5 dollars somewhere . . . I'm working up to it, VERY CARDIO

:welcome: to all the new losers (ewwwwww that sounds soooo bad, but it's GOOD!!)

I will be making Hummus and Buffalo Chicken and baked sweet potato fries this weekend . . . I'm off all weekend and I'm so excited to try these recipes . . .

Everyone hang in there, just keep moving . . .

Hey, ladies, and welcome to everyone who just joined the challenge! :)

I'm having a pretty good week so far. I weigh myself everyday (to make sure I'm always headed in the right direction) even though I officially weigh in on Sundays, and the scale keeps jumping back and forth between 201 and 203, so I'm hoping that that's a sign that I'll at least have a 3-pound loss this week. Maybe I'll get to see 199 next week! :carrot:

dcapulet - I get sooo bored of workouts easily! When I first started out, I was doing WATP exclusively, then I got bored of that and went on to JM's 30DS, then got bored of that. I learned that I just need to mix it up all week and not just stick to one or two workouts. If I get bored with workouts then I'm not motivated to do them, which is bad. Right now I'm doing WATP and Biggest Loser's Boot Camp and haven't gotten bored of either one, but next week I plan to incorporate JM again a couple times a week. Another bonus of mixing things up is that it keeps me from overworking muscles and becoming too sore from doing the same exercises on the same muscles, which keeps me from having to take frequent rest days. Maybe you can try something like that with your workouts?

NY - Good job on not getting completely off track! I know how easy it is to turn to bad habits or lose motivation when things get rough. For me, focusing on weight loss and exercising actually keeps me feeling pretty good even when things get stressful with school and everything else because then I know at least something's going right!

Madam - I'm glad you're feeling better! You could just consider that one day a rest day. I always take at least a day off for rest anyway. I wasn't 100% yesterday either because I was tired from tons of homework and still sore from working out earlier in the week, but half-hearted is better than nothing. :)

I really need to start some exercising. I have just been getting back in the swing of my new school routine and starting up my CCing again. I have an elyptical I can use, but I really want to be outside jogging. I just need to suck it up and get in the habit of hopping on the elyptical.

NYG - BIG BIG  It's a very scary thing to be out of work - congrats on keeping it together as well as you have!!

Madam and Northern - thanks for the good ideas! Norther, I did TBL boot camp and hated it. But I do need to mix it up - I don't want to lose momentum, and there is no way I can exercise outside now! Maybe I'll head over to the school gym this week...

This happens to me whenever I'm really stressed out or worried (either with relationship or family problems and/or losing my job, which has happened to me twice in the past two years). I don't have motivation to leave the house at all and with my old habits, I would just binge eat to make myself feel better. But exercise really works! It helps with anxiety and depression. Getting out to the gym or even just going for walks will be a huge help to you. Good luck with your weight loss goals and finding another job! :)

This is getting made for my Super Bowl party! I bet I can do it in my Magic Bullet :carrot:

Thanks!

That's great for a Super Bowl party! Sometimes I also like to buzz in some baby spinach into the blend so I'm getting some added nutrients. No one notices. ;) lol

Hey, ladies. Hope everything's going great with you guys!

As for me, I didn't eat the best (an understatement, lol) today. I didn't exceed my calorie allowance, but I still had two pork chops, white rice, a pop, and half of a small cupcake. That's what people around me were eating and the sight and smell of it all was killing me, but I really do need to work on saying no! It didn't help that I was super hungry because I hadn't eaten all day, either.

dcapulet - Yeah, Boot Camp isn't one of my favorites either, but it kicks my butt every time (and I've only done Level 1 so far!), so I'll keep up with it and see what type of results I get with it. You could try mixing up some other workouts. The gym sounds even better, though!

Hi everyone

I'm feeling 100% better and back on track, not sure what the scale will read as body was not good for a few days, but I'm back on track and getting ready for my weekend off.

NYGirl, I love that dish, and have actually been looking for something just like that . . . do you know where they got it???? Hang in there on the job front

Surrender - that Hummus recipe looks great, maybe I'll do half plain and half with the roasted peppers, mmmmmmmmm, and veggies and pita chips, Heck I'm not waiting til the superbowl, I'm doing it THIS weekend and maybe again superbowl weekend . . . LOLOLOL

To all you east coast girls . . . hang on . . . I think there is MORE snow heading your way . . . I can't wait for spring and summer and NOOOOOO more snow . . . do I need to move somewhere warmer . . . this winter is getting depressing . . . it's suppose to be 34 today but next week back to teens and single digits . . . I love, love Hummus and well, dips in general. Sometimes I like to have the occasional meatless day, where I only eat fruits and veggies. I use Hummus as my protein due to the chickpeas. I then use baby carrots, endive spears, and one small pita bread cut into triangles and baked for dipping. I'm planning on this for Monday. Can't wait! :carrot:

Ok, I was toooooo excited to make the Hummus yesterday, I didn't know if I should drain the chickpeas so I poured the liquid into the measuring cup, just in case, then I was like, NOPE I need that liquid, BUT forgot to add the olive oil, OOOOOPS, and (I think the taste is pretty close because they had free taste testers at the grocery store today (hummus and bagel chips) so the taste is fine and actually probably more healthy without the oil . . . either way it tastes good and is HEALTHY . . .

WONDERFUL . . . mmmmmmm, mmmmmmmm Good. although I wish I didn't add ALL of the liquid, (maybe 2 TBLSP less) I got lots of veggies for dipping and some plain and some flax/oatbran/wheat pitas, I tried it with raw pitas and carrots, SOOOOO good, will make pita chips today and eat hummus and watch movies today . . . I'm off the weekend and plan only to wash a few clothes (did almost all of them yesterday) watch TV and just be a lazy GIRL . . . ME TIME . . . oh and exercise, lololol almost forgot that

NYGIANTS; thanks, crate & barrel, yea they'll have something similar, sooner or later, I'll keep my eyes open, THANKS

I'm also going to make a buffalo chicken salad this weekend . . . so excited to try that too . . . ooooooooooh, it's going to be a nice relaxing weekend of just snacking (healthy snacking) and working out . . . maybe a nice hot soak in the tub with nice smelling bubbles and light a few candles . . .

Have a great weekend and for you New York ladies, try not to shovel toooooo much snow . . . I think you're getting it again this weekend . . . UGH and OH NO!!! :snow4:

hey all -

time to catch up! looks like there's lots of yummy things going on here this weekend...

weigh in tomorrow - I hope to post a loss. I may go out tonight, but i'm debating because I don't want to go off plan. This is something I never anticipated before I started losing weight- being afraid to go out and do things. It's almost as if I go off plan I'll never get back on. I'm going to have to figure out how to deal with that.

Any suggestions?

I'm weighing myself tomorrow morning, too. I can't expect too much of a loss from Friday morning, but I'm hoping for at least a little something. With going out, try to stick to the healthier portion of the menu or order all dressings/sauces on the side. For an appetizer or side dish, choose a small salad or vegetable instead of something starchy. Other than that, just enjoy yourself!

I can't wait to weigh in tomorrow! I know there will be a loss, but I'm hoping it'll be on the higher end of what I've been seeing all week (3-6 lbs). Good luck, guys!

I know this is late since you've probably already gone out, but maybe it can help you a bit in the future. I'm not afraid to go out, but I've decided to go out less than what I've been used to because there will be too much temptation otherwise. When I do go out, I make sure I don't eat anything at home (unless it's some type of healthy snack if I'm hungry) in order to save all of my calories for when I'm out. Honestly, I don't hold back much on what I eat when I'm out, although I do eat moderately with calories in mind and don't eat things that I don't need to eat (like free bread/biscuits and appetizers). This works fine for me. If I go overboard, I just write it off as a lost day (or a "cheat day") and keep going as if I never went off plan. After all, it's only one day and it won't kill your progress! It only will if you let that one day make you give up. Remembering this is the only thing that keeps me from completely giving up when I've had an off day.

Nights out that involve alcohol aren't much of a problem for me, since I rarely drink, so I can't be of much help there. I can say, though, that if you're going out with a group of friends, you can always offer to be a designated driver so that you don't drink or do it very moderately. Hope this helps!

Good morning everyone, hope everyone is having a FUN, RESTFUL Sunday. I am at 173.6 (-1.6 for the week) happy with that but yesterday was a bit lower, but today that's what it is so I'll take it . . .

Surrender here is the Buffalo chicken:

Northern Buffalo chicken - really simple - cook a chicken breast (i season with only salt and pepper) Cut into strips or cubes, and toss in buffalo sauce (I use Nance's - I used to make my own, but the recipe calls for LOTs of butter, so I get a low-fat sauce now) and place over salad greens and tomatoes. You can then use bleu cheese dressing, but i just add two tablespoons of fresh, crumbled bleu right over it. And enjoy!!

I think it may have come from dcap . . . not sure I can't remember

When I cooked the chicken I baked it and used sea salt and garlic pepper (love my garlic) I couldn't find Nances and used Stubbs (ok on the flavor but a bit spicy for me) will keep my eyes and ears out for one NOT quite so HOT . . . and I like spicy . . but OOOOOOO SO GOOD!!!

I'm actually loving the snow! It's definitely going to be a lot and I don't look forward to shoveling it, but there's just something about it!

I'm having a good week so far (even though it's barely Tuesday). When I did my daily weigh-in today I saw 199 on the scale, but it changed to 200 right before I stepped off. How cruel is that? lol

Surrender - Ooo, a new machine! I could use a new one right about now. I only have the Gazelle at home, which I don't really use, so I'd love something else. Unfortunately, it's not in the budget right now with college and everything. :( Let us know how you like your elliptical and have fun at the gym!

Get down to the 240's
1300 min exercise
knowing I'll be a bit off plan for my birthday out - and then getting up to move on!
Keep up with my yoga
Starting going to the school gym

What about you? Where are YOU going this month?

OK ladies, it's COOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD outside, the news said -18 with the wind chill, high today around 0 . . . Come on SUMMMER, ok I'd just be happy with temps in the 20's . . . .

I'm rockin and rollin this week . . . today JM 6-week, 6-pack abs, Zumba flat abs, 200 crunches and 75 push-ups . . . I shoveled snow yesterday and the day before so HOPEFULLY no snow shoveling for a day or two . . . I know some of you have snow shoveling in your future, all I can say is dress warm, shovel like there's no tomorrow and then HOP IN A HOT SHOWER . . . feels so good

Northern Belle: I too love the snow, but it's a little excessive this year and I want the warmer weather to come so I can exercise outside, mind you inside is fine, but I love to ride my bike and it could be just a little hazardous in the snow and ice . . .

Look at all the #'s going down . . . looks like everyone is on the downhill slide, :woohoo:

Eny: it's not just 2.6 lbs, it is also OVER 10 STICKS of BUTT-ER melted away . . . just keep it movin' and it will melt away FOREVER!!

dcap: what a great idea, my February goal will to see how close I can get to 160 . . . I've been hanging around 171 for the past few days and hope it drops just a bit more before Sunday . . . (crossing my fingers and praying to the scale angels) so here are my goals:
1. See how close I can get to 160
2. Be able to do 100 push-up (currently at 75, albeit 3 sets of 25)
3. Be able to do 400 crunches (currently at 200)
4. Have a spa night for me once a week!! (I light candles, put on some soft music, bush-hog my legs and soak, relax and reflect . . . so calming, ahhhhhhhhhhhh)

:Welcome: Kimberly

Like decap said: What are your goals for Feb???

Oh surrender; I'm buying a bag of wings and making the Buffalo Chicken (wing style) for the superbowl . . . will serve with low fat ranch and blue cheese . . . mmmm, mmmmmm goood . . . I can't wait

Responding to Dcaps question:
My goals for February:
Up my current best jog from 5 miles to 6 miles
Keep my water intake above 75oz. per day
Introduce yoga into my routine at least once per week
I would love to hit Onderland this month, but sometimes you cannot control the scale, so I will just keep my eye on that goal for now :s:

Thanks, I need to look at my plan every once in a while to make adjustments as needed!

MadamButterfly -- You and I have essentially the same spa night ritual... Gosh, I love it; it's a wonderful way to relax :D
My goals for February are:
1. Get under 180...
2. Get in at least 3 hours of hard cardio each week... and not repeat weeks in C25k
3. Weight lift 3X a week
4. Fight my Diet Coke addiction with copious amounts of water.

Jomatho- I think it's wonderful that you're willing to introduce yoga in to your routine. I started practicing about 6 months ago and I couldn't be happier with the results. It has given me so much definition in my arms and shoulders. Sadly I am unable to practice right now because of a torn muscle in my back and it's driving me up a wall with frustration.

I can officially say that I am in the middle of a heated battle with my scale. I've hit a plateau! I mean who actually hits a plateau 1 lb away from their goal weight???? I'm still looking to be around 137-138 by the end of the month. I think I'll be able to do it once I kick 141 in the a**. I'm so limited at the gym right now because of my torn rhomboid muscle. All my physical therapist will allow me to do is walk and ride a recumbent bike. Absolutely no weights or yoga :( I'm about ready to jump out the window with frustration. //end rant!

I hope you all have a wonderful and productive and OP upcoming weekend!

hopeful: hang in there, I'd be in utter frustration, and when you have an injury and CAN'T do the things you want . . . UGH and double UGH, UGH!!!! your back WILL get better and you WILL beat that scale . . . just walk and walk and walk . . .

dcap: GREAT job on the calorie counting!!! Yup, 75 push-ups (90 today), but believe me I didn't start with that, I think I started with 10 girly push-ups and moved to 3 or 4 regular and built from there . . . besides I need to get to 100 by the end of the month . . .

jomotho - I think I am going to start the yoga too, I have a DVD, so now I have to put it in and just do it . . . oh Onederland . . . SOOOOOO exciting!!

Lady BonBon: I LOVE my spa night, I used to do it 3-4 times a month, now maybe once a month . . . so now a little ME time and it feels SOOOOOO good on my muscles, I think tonight is a GOOD night . . and then a warm day outside tomorrow . . . oooooooooh I'm so excited!!!

Northern Belle: I too love the snow, it's these daggone high temps of 3 and 5 and 8 that are killing me . . . plus wind. I'm sending a scale angel to YOU  :goodscale:

Surrender: It's thursday, are you getting to the gym???? I know you can do it!!! :carrot: :cp: :broc:

I bumped things up a bit today: I did JM 30-day shred Level 2 (5 lb weights) and then I did JM 30-day shred Level 3 (5 lb weight), 200 crunches, 90 push-ups . . . OK, I think I must be a little crazy because I think i'm going to go to Zumba flat abs when I'm done posting . . . :dizzy:

Everyone have a great day . . . I'm HUNGRY!!

hopeful - what about some yoga poses that don't involve arms? I mean, there are not that many, but maybe you can do some leg work? I hope you get better soon - it would make me nuts too!!

Madam - you are hardcore. Seriously.

:welcome: destiny'smom!! nice to have you here.

mom of 3 - how do you not WI everyday? I really struggle with that - any good tips?

Up at 6 for meeting, saw a patient today, wrote letters, came home, did 30 min of aerobics - so I'm doing well! I need to get some work done, and i might actually be ahead of the game by tonight.

and i'm actually changing from my sweats to my jeans just to sit around - anytime my jeans are more comfortable, i know i'm in a good place :)

Hopeful - That's some amazing progress. Congrats!

Aww, that is a very cruel scale! I'm hoping my scale will be nice to me Saturday morning. Haha. I really do need something at home that I can use. They're usually too big for my apartment or way to expensive. But this was under $500, it folds up, and will fit in my walk-in closet. I live in a small town and we don't have a large gym facility. There's a fitness room in the community center, which I use, but there are only two bikes, three treadmills, and three ellipticals. When the gym's busy, sometimes I can't get the complete workout that I want. Plus, there's the days when I don't make it to the gym because I have work all day. I come home from work and feel bleugh and wish I could work out some. I can't wait for the elliptical to get here. I'll let you know how it goes. The only thing I'm concerned with right now is getting it up the stairs and putting it together. I'm not too handy lol.

HAPPY FRIDAY LADIES!!!! I met my ultimate weight loss goal this morning. I weighed in at 139.4 which puts my a shade under my goal weight of 140lbs.

I can not ever in my life remember weighing this much. Even when I went in to the Army out of high school I was weighing in the 160's.

My goal for the rest of the month would be 137 although I don't know how realistic that will be since the weight is dropping like a slow water leak. As long as I keep focused I have no doubt that I will hit 130 before Memorial Day. I have a mini-goal of making 130 by 1 April. I'm traveling back to PA for my mom's 60th b-day bash. I haven't been home in over 6 years so I'm very excited to see family and friends that only ever knew me as being heavy.

momof3 - The scale can be fustrating. I think the jean progress is even better than the scale progress! I have started charting my weight and my measurements...just so I am sure to see some downward movement.

hopeful - Congratulations!

surrender - putting the elyptical together may be a work out in itself. :)

I am 9lbs down on this road toward Memorial day!!! I think that my main workout today will be cleaning up the house...it is in desperate need of attention.

It really is helping give me that extra boost to keep on trying to reach my goals. Anyway, by the time warm weather rolls around this year I want to be at my goal weight. Hopefully I will get there by the time its warm enough for shorts and tank tops

Hi ladies, just checking in, I'll be weighing tomorrow and hoping the scale angels come to visit me . . . it will be what it will be . . .

NorthernBelle: UGH and OH NO, that is a VERY CRUEL SCALE, hang in there, you'll be in ONEDERLAND any day . . . patience or at least that's what I keep telling myself . . . what is that saying; patience is a virtue, well I HAVE NO VIRTUE . . . at least with myself . . .

Hopeful; :congrat: that is sooooooooooooo wonderful and I AM JEALOUS, in a good way . . . I'm the same height as you and my goal is 135-140 . . . I can't wait . . . If that daggone scale does that to me I'm throwing it OUT THE WINDOW . . . lolololol

Momof3premies: if you bumped your workout up from previous weeks it could just be water, I know when I have bumped my workout my muscles hold extra water for repair, try bumping up your water a little and when the muscles are used to the NEW workout it will drop that water . . . like I said to northernBelle, PATIENCE . . . Also I weigh (I'm an addict) and I measure. The first month I lost pounds but virtually 0 inches and the second month I lost a few pounds and LOTS of inches and last month it was a pretty even split, (which I like better) I will measure again on the 11th and we'll see what happens, but clothes are looser and some are falling off baggy . . . so just hang in there, it WILL happen

Enygirl: you crack me up, don't worry . . . the 220's will be gone soon!!

dcap: I don't know if I'm hard core, but a woman posted somewhere here that you have to workout for the body you want, not the body you have . . . so I am crankin' it UP . . . OH and I am with you I am addicted to weighing my self, in the morn when I get up, after I eat, after I get dressed, in the afternoon, everytime I go in the bathroom, at night before I take off my clothes, and after I take off my clothes . . . Is there a thread for a 12-step scale addiction . . . (but I don't fret the changes, just find it interesting how things change during the day and the fact that I almost ALWAYS LOSE 2 LBS EVERY NIGHT . . . so weird) and I ONLY count the morning weight . . . <sigh> ok I'm obsessed about talking about it tooo . .

Surrender: You are on the downhill slide woman . . . just keep it up and I think I see Onderland in your future . . . :woohoo:

Whtruw8n4: :welcome: I too am weighting (LOLOL) for that time I can wear cute tops and shorts in the warm weather . . . OK so right now I'd just be happy with warm weather . . . next week more FRIGID temps :brr:

Momof3, Same thing happened to me initially when I started to really push it in the workout department. Have no fear, the scale will cooperate in time, but for now try to take comfort in knowing your body is changing and adjusting. My DH had to say the exact same thing to me! It worked and I am soooo glad I stuck it out to see the scale start to respond the way it is!

I know exactly what you mean! I can never get myself to the gym either because I'm too tired to go out of my way to do it or I'm just not motivated enough to do it. I'm glad I have things here, including my workout DVDs, to work with. I hope you're having fun with your new elliptical if it came!

NorthernBelle: UGH and OH NO, that is a VERY CRUEL SCALE, hang in there, you'll be in ONEDERLAND any day . . . patience or at least that's what I keep telling myself . . . what is that saying; patience is a virtue, well I HAVE NO VIRTUE . . . at least with myself . . .

Yeah, it was extremely frustrating, but it looks like you were right! I wasn't very patient myself, though. I couldn't wait until weigh-in day because I wanted to hold on to that 198-199 I kept seeing all week and I was worried that I would somehow sabotage myself before the week's end. This was the longest week ever! A weight loss journey can drive you mad sometimes lol.

Congrats to everyone who's lost weight this week, and even if you haven't, congrats on keeping it going!

@Northern Belle- Congrats! Patience is a virtue in this evil game of weight loss. Sometimes I get so frustrated with that damn scale that I want to throw it out the window, then the following day it's my BFF. I always recite to myself that "It didn't show up overnight so it's not going to go away overnight".

@Jomatho- That's a really great loss for this week. Keep up the good work.

BTW, are we officially reporting on Saturdays? I'm a daily weigher and just pop in here every few days for updates.

I feel so sad, last week I did not exercise at all because of TOM and being sick .. yesterday was my first day back to the gym but my scale is either 177 or 178, I can't seem to get below 177 .. I know that the scale wouldn't move alot due to the lack of exercising and the horrible temptations of snacks that I gave in to but still I'm still down -- I know I wont be able to meet my valentines day goal of 171 but if I could atleast get to 175 by the end of next week, maybe I will be happy ....

Sorry for venting but I just really want to lose weight for my Memorial Weekend vacation is Miami since the flight and hotel are already booked ...

PLEASE HELP ME!

Went back to my desk job today - and it was just as boring as I remembered. I need to find a constructive way to spice it up. I'm pretty sleepy (I think my body is still trying to recover) but I want to get something in today that's not too strenuous.

Hi guys, can I join?

So i am looking for a thread in which I can have support and talk about goals! This seems like the place!

Wow, it's so hard to know everyone's names as there are so many people! Hopefully I will get the hang of this soon! :)

My goal is to be at 130lbs by the end of March, and that is quite liberal. I would really like to be at 130 before then, but able to maintain until the end of March.

Then go hard and get to 125 by the end of April and then at 120 by May and then maintain.

Over the 4th of July weekend my husband and I are going to a resort in San Diego with my family and I really want to be at 120! Every year I say this, but every year I'm at 130. So this is the year!

I haven't been 120 since High School and I'm not sure how going smaller would look/feel. My Bmi says I could get to 110 or something, but that is gross! 115 would be good! We shall see!!!!!!

Help motivate me! LOL What works for you guys to lose weight?

Thanks!

Kim. :welcome:

Madam - I'll put the coffee on! It's very low-carb, but super delicious!!

I completed my internship today - it's a nice feeling. No more early morning tumor meetings!! My very generous boss bought bagels today - they don't I'm a low-carbie - and so I ate one. She had got to all the trouble of ordering them fresh and going out of her way to pick them up, so I felt obligated. After, I had a douzy of a headache and have been thirsty all day. Other than that, not too bad. (I think I thought I would exploded or something) This may mean no change on the scale this week (with this and that whole being sick/not exercising thing) But we'll see!

Madam Butterfly, thanks for the shout out with the little blue guy you made my day!! I was out of town for 3 days and I still lost 1 pound so that was a huge victory. I leave for DC for five days and I'm hoping to continue to lose. This has been a really tough couple of weeks to fit an actual workout in so I would love some creative ideas to burn calories when you are away from home.:dizzy:

Welcome to the new people! This is the place to vent our frustrations and motivate ourselves through chatting with awesome people!

*Fingers Crossed* my weigh in tomorrow is a good one! I've been busting my butt at the gym this week, but I don't feel as good as last week. More emotional, I think. It's been a difficult week plus TOM is coming soon. Bleugh. Anyways, keep up the hard work everyone and I'll report back tomorrow with my weigh in results!

dcap - Congrats on finishing your internship! I am glad to see that you are starting to feel better.

diamond - we all have off days or weeks. For me, TOM certainly plays into it too.

Welcome to the new chicks on this thread!

I am trying really hard not to be sick, I was freezing cold last night and this morning I am puffy and stuffy. I am hoping to get a lot of rest this weekend, so maybe that will do the trick.

The good news is that yesterday I realized that I really needed to give up my favorite pair of slacks because they are too big now!

CRM - WTG on the out of town loss. That's resolve!

Evelope - I'm sending over chicken soup - being sick is lousy. hope you get better!!

I wooshed into the 240's today - 249!! So happy - this is the lowest weight I've been in 3 years!

Hey, ladies! Hope everyone's been having a great/successful week and welcome to everyone who's just joined!

Ugh, I have not been having a good week AT ALL! I haven't been concentrating on weight loss at all because my dad had a stroke a few days ago (second one within a year). It's showing, too, because I've been weighing in at 200-202 all week. Plus it's TOM. It'll definitely be a gain this week; just waiting to see how much. :( I'll just have to take this week for what it is and get back on track next week. I'm not letting myself get stuck at this 199/200s speed bump again.

Congrats on your losses surrendertolis, JasonsLea, and dcapulet! :carrot: And good luck to everyone weighing in tomorrow. :)

Madam - thank you! You made me very happy :)

I got the cheesecake recipe from the SB forum right here on 3fc!

Ingredients:

* 340g (12oz) softened light cream cheese
* 6-8 Tbsp. Splenda or other sweetener (or to taste)
* 60ml (1/4 cup) low-fat sour cream
* 1 tsp. sugar-free vanilla extract
* 3 eggs

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 325F (160C). Grease an 8-inch springform cake pan and line the outside of the pan with foil. Prepare a larger baking dish by filling it with an inch of water.
2. With a hand mixer, to beat the cream cheese until it is almost liquified.
3. Mix the sour cream, Splenda and the vanilla extract into the cream cheese and stir until well-blended.
4. In a small bowl, lightly beat the eggs until frothy. Combine the eggs into the cream cheese mixture.
5. Pour the batter into the cake pan and, holding the foil tightly around the sides, gently place the cake tin into the baking dish filling with water.
6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck into the cheesecake comes out clean.
7. Allow to chill in the refrigerator for 3 hours before serving.

I also melted 1 cup of sugar/carb free strawberry jam in a pot, and poured into the cheesecake mix before baking. Then, I gently swirled my rubber spatula through it (not mixing) to give the marbling effect.

You should try this! It's SUPER good, and my kids love it!!

Thank you, Northern Belle and MadamButterfly! And congrats to everyone else who lost this week!

Oh my, I love cheesecake!!! I'm going to have to try out that recipe. I found this awesome recipe that I'd like to share with everyone. It is SO good and perfect for when you're craving chocolate!

Mississippi Mug Pie

* 1 packet 25-calorie diet hot cocoa mix
* 3 tbsp chocolate devil's food cake mix
* 1 tbsp fat-free liquid egg substitute
* 1 sugar-free 60 calorie chocolate pudding snack cup
* 1 tsp mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
* fat-free whipped topping, optional

Spray a large microwave-safe mug with nonstick spray. Add cocoa mix, cake mix, egg substitute, and 2 tablespoons water. Mix well. Add chocolate chips and about a third of the pudding to the mug, and stir gently to combine. Microwave for 1 minute.

Fluff with a fork, and then gently mix in the remaining pudding. Microwave for 1 more minute. Let cool slightly. Top with whipped topping and garnish with mint, if using. Dig in!

PER SERVING (entire recipe): 223 calories, 5g fat, 588mg sodium, 45.5g carbs, 2.75g fiber, 19g sugars, 6.5g protein

Madam, Thanks! I'll definitely keep going!

dcap and surrendertolis, Those recipes look amazing! I made two high fat, high calorie cheesecakes and a chocolate cake for Christmas and they were soooo good, but I know I really shouldn't do that again. (That was when I fell of the wagon for awhile and didn't care what I ate because it was the holidays). I've been looking for recipes that use healthier substitutes, but I've always felt like they might not live up to my expectations taste-wise (especially with cheesecake, since it's my favorite dessert). I'll definitely be trying these though. I wonder if there's a healthier way to make a graham cracker crust for the cheesecake. I can live without it, but it just adds that extra little bit of goodness!

Happy weekend ladies. I'm here doing a check-in since it's been a while. I'm still on track with my weight loss. As of today I'm down to 137.8, so that puts me a little under 5 lbs lost since this challenge started (which is huge for me). I'm trying for 135 by the end of the month and 129 by April 1st. I'm sure that I'm still on track to meet both of these goals.

I'm so glad to come in here and read about everyone's progress. Each one of us are going to be super sexy by Memorial Day!

The Mug Pie is definitely delicious! As for the graham cracker crust, I say buy a brand of the healthiest kind of graham crackers you can find. To make the crust, only use 1-2 tbsp melted unsalted butter and then use just enough honey or agave nectar to create the crust mixture. It really works!

good morning all

I had a couple rough days, but kept exercising and I'm back into it now . . . Today I did Day 4 JM 30-day shred (level 1, 5 & 8 lb weights) I am now doing this EVERYDAY instead of rotating it with other DVDs, I also got a wild hair up by BU** and did BL Last chance workout, along with my push-ups and crunches . . . Can you say a nice hot soak in a bubble bath tonight . . . I THINK SOOOOO!!!

dcap: I get like that too . . . just "TIRED" I've also found if I skip my vitamins for a few days then I get like that. (I take a multi vitamin with calcium, iron and zinc, and a B-complex vitamin . . . ) I used to just take the multi vitamin and a friend (a nutritionist) suggested adding the B-complex and that made all the difference in the world . . . Hope you're feeling better

Emme: don't fret the whole TOM because it will come and go and your hard work will come shining through when it leaves . . . just keep the trend downward . . . at least that's what I do. GOOD LUCK!!

Surrender: It will be great to get into 14's . . . just keep movin' . . . I was thinking: do they have a clothing exchange forum . . . as I just took my 14's to the Good Will . . . that would be so awesome, especially if people lived close to you, people could get together for a bike ride, hike or something and give away their old clothes to another who has moved into your size . . .

Hanging in there, for sure! Just lost 2 pounds of water in a day to get back down to 206. I must have peed about 50 times yesterday. Not sure how or why I gained 2 pounds of water and then lost it in a day, but I will take it. I just added in weight training this week, so I think this is to be expected. surrender - we are so there. I am already "net" shopping on Express.com so I can buy my first pair of short shorts - EVER! to wear with some awesome caged heels I purchased last year.

30 min yoga today, and 60 min exercise. More than anything, 2 big accomplishments today - I used the pull-up machine at the gym (I have a hard time using new equipment b/c I always feel like an idiot) and I passed on crescent rolls. Apparently, they are QUITE the trigger food for me, but I was able to resist and move on. Those are NEVER coming back into this house!!

MadamButterfly - Thanks! That's a great idea, actually. It would be cool to do a clothing size swap/party type of thing for those on 3FC who live relatively near each other. I wonder if a forum or thread can be started here for that? That's also a good idea to pack up larger-sized clothes and donate them!

jomatho - That's great you lost that water weight. You'll be in Onederland in no time! :D I hope you enjoy the weight training! I really like that I've added it to my workout routine. I like tracking my progress with seeing how much more weight I can lift or push from week to week.

dcapulet - We so are! Ooh, that's awesome. I've never been able to shop at Express. That was always "the skinny girls' store" lol. When I was a teenager, my friend Shenelle was always a size 2 and so she'd get all her cool clothes at Express while I just hung around and watched lol. I also haven't worn shorts outside in AGES. Looking forward to rocking shorts this summer! :D

Hi everyone.

Just dropped in to say Hi :). Madambutterfly I took your advice and I think I walked my legs off going to all the sites in DC. It is a different world than the one I live in... I come from a town of about 30,000 people so it was a little overwhelming but it was great to see all the history. On the plus side I consumed a lot of water and I actually lost weight:carrot: I hope to get a workout in on Saturday and Sunday but it will be tough since I want to spend a bunch of time with the family since I missed them all week.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Good morning all, it's Friday and I'm off work . . . I did a double workout today . . . . OH MY . . . I got a wild hair up my BU** :lol3: I did JM 30-day shred and BL last chance workout with my 400 crunches and 140 push-ups

Emme: Great job, TOM and a loss :woohoo:

crm: yea, walking your legs off in D.C. is NOT a problem and hopefully it wasn't TOOOOO COLD :brr: I can remember as a child going to the pencil (The washington monument) it used to cost 10 cents to go in and you could take the elevator up and walk down or you could walk up, all along the wall at each landing is a stone from every state. They don't let people do that anymore because people would have heart attacks and the elevator only stops at the top an bottom . . . it takes the medics a looooong time to get up or down. OK enough reminiscing . . .

crm: one other note: Do something with the family a hike at one of the state parks or just in the neighborhood, a bike ride, ice skating or something that is active and you all can do together . . . not sure how old the kids are or where you're at so I don't know the temps outside . . .

JasonLea: Good luck on the weigh-in :crossed:

Christinia: :carrot: Way to go!! Do you like the eliptical, I feel like my feet fall asleep when I do it? . . . ok maybe I'm just weird

dcap: GREAT WILL POWER . . . no crescent rolls and the pull up machine . . . I don't like going to the gym . . . I always feel like everyone is watching me . . . I know they are just doing their own thing . . . all in my head I know

Everyone have a great day . . . I weigh in on Sunday and have my fingers :crossed: and praying to the scale angels :goodscale:

Super excited about my results this week! Can't remember the last time I was in single digits and so close to Onederland! I was crossing my fingers that I'd at least be under 210 due to this having been a major PMS week. There were a couple nights when I didn't get enough of my water intake for the day because of a bad stomach ache after dinner. But I was SO thrilled and pleasantly surprised when I saw 208.2 on the scale! It really pays off to exercise and eat correctly!

My feet do the same thing if I stay on more than 10 minutes or so! I have tried different shoes, stocking feet (pedals too bumpy), untied shoes, etc. I thought I was crazy. I avoid it unless I really need to change up my routine, and even then I keep it short!

Looks like everyone is doing great! I weigh in tomorrow (sunday):crossed:

Morning ladies . . . looks like everyone is doing well!! :woohoo:

I'm down 1.2, and was surprised it was that much. I didn't really do cardio workouts this week, I pretty much stuck to the 30-day shred and then two days of BL added to the shred workouts and although jillian does cardio in these it isn't sustained cardio and I think I need that, so I will do the 30 day shred and some Zumba everyday and see what happens with that . . . besides I feel better when I do Zumba or some other sustained cardio . . .

OK, I've got diarrhea of the mouth today, just thinking out loud . . . so here are my numbers so far . . .

1/16: 177.2
1/23: 175.2 (-2.0)
1/30: 173.6 (-1.6)
2/6: 170.6 (-3.0)
2/13: 168.8 (-1.8)
2/20: 167.6 (-1.2)

:congrat: to everyone who lost this week

decap: way to go having a FUN, FUN week and still maintaining . . .

OK, I need to eat and get ready for work AND it's snowing outside . . . can you say "shovel the snow" <sigh> I'm so ready for spring . . .

EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

I'd love to join. I won't set an actual weight loss goal b/c if I miss it, I don't want to feel like I didn't accomplish something. It's early, does that make sense?

My goal for this challenge will be to stick with the challenge, do my best and enjoy the results!

MadamButterfly, spunkystar, JasonsLea - Congrats on your losses! :D

Well I'm over the stomach flu! Ugh. That was rough. Hopefully it equals out to a loss at least lol. Felt great to get back to the gym today, but my routine was off. I usually go in the morning about an hour after breakfast, but the gym didn't open until noon today because of the holiday. So I ended up working out in the afternoon after lunch. Felt kinda strange lol. Oh well. Back to the normal routine tomorrow!

Yes, Happy Hump Day!! Woo-hoo!

I am excited for spin class tonight and yoga tomorrow afternoon. It's funny the little things that make me happy. :) I am so thankful that work offers classes every day, and I have my own little routine going: yoga and Zumba on Mondays, Pilates on Tuesdays, spin on Wednesdays, and yoga on Thursdays. Granted, pilates and yoga aren't cardio, but it feels great to go to those classes ~ so good for the mind/body/spirit...and pilates actually incorporates a lot of core work which is killer!

Hi everyone! I'd like to join the challenge! goal is to lose 39 by memorial day I'm at 209 right now. 170 by summer!! woot woot! hopefully that will put me in the size 12 area. Then I'll only have 30 more to go! I live on the water so it's very difficult when summer rolls around. All kinds of young size 7's running around!

Good morning, dcapulet...it's great that you are headed in the right direction ~ I'm sure you'll see the weight drop before you know it!

This morning was my weigh-in and I am down 1.4 pounds from last Friday. I'm hoping I can be at my goal-weight by Memorial Day, but if not, I'll just keep chugging along! I don't like putting too much pressure on myself because then I tend to freak out and binge if I don't quite do what I was hoping to do...yikes, don't want that!!

Hope it's not too late for me to join in. I'm just coming to the end of my first week of a healthier lifestyle, and I've lost 5lb and 1/2 an inch off my waist already. Just hoping to keep going and keep motivated until summer, so this challenge is perfect!

SW: 210 (95.4 kg)
CW: 205 (93.2 kg)
Challenge GW: 176 (80 kg)

It really will be quite a push to lose 29lb (13 kilos) in 13 weeks, but it would make me so happy to be at that point in time for beach weather, and I really think I can do it if I stay motivated.

Good luck everyone!! :)

Rainbow84: :welcome: GREAT JOB on the 5 lbs and 1/2 inch . . . just keep focused and realize our bodies go up and down (weight-wise) for whatever reason, e.g. too much sodium, not eating healthy, TOM . . . water retention for muscle repair . . . oh and sometimes just because it wants to :lol3:
