Hi everyone since I am new to this situation that I find my self in I was hopeing for any & ALL coments you all may have.
I am 40, 2 months ago I was told I have hypothyroidism & pcos
My levels 8 weeks ago were
TSH 7.131
FREE T4 0.84
Liver ALT/SGPT 54, normal range is 9 - 52
Insulin 16, normal range <17

I have been taking synthroid for about 8 weeks &
Now my TSH has gone down it is 2.499
my blood pressure is 148/88 and all my cholesterals are low.
My doctor did not retake the other tests she said she would do that March first and then go from there.
I have been takeing synthroid and I do feel alot better, but my HAIR IS STILL FALLING OUT :-( ,
I have had 2 periods in the last 8 weeks comparied to 1 or 2 a year if lucky.
she was more concerened about treating the thyroid first but she did give me a prescription for tetracycline for my bad acne.
I have been taking that for a week and it is helping.
Today I decieded that I don't want to wait till march 1st to go back because of my hair falling out,
what do you all think about my insulin level of 16 ?
and what about the liver leval of 54 ?
Should I have had any other more specific blood tests?
I was thinking about asking to be put on Armour instead of the synthroid.
