Default I feel like an idiot

So I just did my first excessive DVD (30Day Shred) and I realized that I feel like an idiot. No ones around when I did it, but I couldn't help but feel embarrassed.

Does anyone else feel this way? Does it go away after a while or will I always feel silly?

PS- I feel like I am going to die. That stupid DVD kicked my outta-shape butt!

OMG! I always feel like a dork when I do it. I'm always afraid someone is on the walking path behind my house & can see my flailing around. But hey - you did & they didn't.

Why feel like an idiot? You're doing something good for your heart and body-- own it! Especially if nobody is around! I felt kind of stupid doing some cardio dance DVD I tried like twice, but mainly because I'm completely uncoordinated and the trainer was WAY too upbeat and ridiculous. Frankly I was more embarrassed for her haha.

I think it'll go away-- there's no point feeling weird or self-conscious working out in your own home-- embrace the silliness of it! That'll make it more enjoyable .

I think workout DVDs are usually cheesy because the people have to talk the whole time to motivate you and all, so I think at first you could feel silly, but with time you will just get used to it!

I recently did a burlesque style dance video for the first time and uh, yea, I felt silly doing it! haha. But I was by myself so I made the most of it so I could get the best workout from it!

I have that video too and I always feel a bit foolish when I'm doing a workout video. I usually push past it or hole myself up in a room to do my workout without interruption.

I've always had an issue with exercising in front of my family members (from being forced to exercise when I was younger), so I don't necessarily enjoy working out at home. I work around this by going to a gym or running outside. Surprisingly, the LOVE the gym.

Simply, find what works for you and what you find most comfortable or simply choose to push past those weird feelings as you're starting out.

I did the 30day shred today for the first time and felt so foolish!lol.

It was mainly cuz I was at work(Im a nanny, my boss wanted me to try the dvds) and i was so paranoid that either my boss or her husband, or the older boys would come home early and see me jiggling all over the place.lol.

But yeah it made y legs feel like jelly after!lol

I used to feel silly, but now I just get into it. I do Turbo Jam a lot, and there are points in it where the instructor tells you to "shake it" or something, and they all start bustin' a move. I used to feel stupid and just run in place for a second, but now I shake it right along with them! Once you get past the feeling silly, it's just fun. Now that's my favorite part of the video, and I enjoy my workout more when I'm just letting loose and having fun!

So it sounds like my initial embarrassment will pass. I am just really self conscious, I guess.

It was funny bc after I unlocked the door to the back bedroom (our art studio/home gym) both my dogs were looking at me with a lot of concern. They musta thought I was dying from the pounding on the ground, not to mention the huffin & puffin.

Anyways... thanks for the support, ladies.

One of the nice things about living alone I guess. It will pass though, and as you see progress and results you won't care about looking silly

I only do when I'm grunting and breathing heavy and my neighbours are upstairs and can probably hear me because the installation sucks. I can always hear them talking so I'm sure they can hear me jumping and grunting haha.

I did cardiokie for a while and you have to sing and dance! I was a dancer in high school but I've always been prone to accident and I ended up doing a move right into the coffee table and cut my heel up pretty bad. It was then that I swore to never do a work out video again. I was alone but still sooooo embarrassed.
