View Full Version : Getting OUT of the 240's ...2011

01-11-2011, 05:07 PM
I have not seen a new post like this for the 240's people, so thought I would make one! The lowest number I've see. This month so far has been 241.4, I keep going between 241 and 243!

So close to the 230's that I can taste it:)

So how's everyone doing? What's your game plan on how you will leave the 240's?

I hope to keep my activity to 4 days a week. I am going to start watching my sodium intake as much as my calories bc it has been an issue. Continue with NO SODAS! and finish the c25k!

I also want to have a target water intake of 100 oz per day for the rest of Jan!!!

Can't wait to hear from you other 240's!!! Toodles!

01-11-2011, 07:55 PM
AHHHH! I've been stuck right around 240 for weeks, WEEKS I tell you!!!! Other people seem to fly right past it, but not me! I was down to 238.5 last Saturday, but back up to 243 by this morning, Tuesday! 3.5 pounds in 3 days!! Arrgh! While I'm worked up about this (note all the exclamation points!!!), I'm not super discouraged (yet!). I know part of it was the holidays and part of it is just me being off track and lazy... My plan is to get back on track with eating right and logging everything. And more water. (I also have a no-soda goal!) I just need to be more serious about it. I think I needed a break (serious effort was made from August - begin of Dec), BUT this last week was supposed to be the start of getting back on track and I gained 3.5 pounds this week. ugh. Alright, I'm going to stop rambling now. Best of luck!

01-11-2011, 08:02 PM
Oh, oh, me, pick me!! I have been bouncing between 241 and 243 for over a month now (which I consider maintaining.) I'm WAY ready to be out of the 240's. Step one: stop eating crap! ;) I've gotten pretty lazy with my eating the last month or so. I also haven't been getting enough water, haven't been tracking and exercise is at an all time low. I have started playing volleyball again, so that's something I suppose. Onward and downward!!

01-12-2011, 10:09 AM
Drinking water really does make a difference whenever I step on the scale in the morning. Today I was at 242.4....

I am happy to know that I'm not the only one who is having a hard time with these couple of pounds. You better believe 2.4 aint gonna keep me down..no way!!!

We can do this ladies!!!!!!!!!

Jen- I bounced like that earlier in the month, never in the 230's though. My sodium intake was outrageous and after I drank about 80oz of water two days back to back, the water weight just dropped off!

Im a strong believer of, if you see the number, and then bounce up, its retention! There is no way you ate your daily caloric intake plus 3500 calories. It isn't a true gain! Girl you're so close!!!

Gale: you can do it! When I started tracking again I had to take it one meal at a time or I got so overwhelmed and would just give up for days! I always track within 10 min of eating something bc I like to trick myself and not log something that I wish I wouldn't have had. Lol. Tracking and water is def the first steps to success!!!

We can do this!!! Today is a NEW day! I'm ready to post in the 230's thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

01-12-2011, 10:36 AM
Count me as another poor soul who can't get out of the 240's. I've actually seen 239.9 for a day, but it just creeps back into the 240's before the day is over. This morning I was 242.0 :?:

I threw my back out last Friday and have been at home on painkillers and not at the gym where I need to be. I'm watching my calories, but that isn't enough for me to lose this weight.

01-12-2011, 10:57 AM
I finally saw something below 242 (241.6) this morning for the first time in weeks. I played volleyball for 2 hours last night for the second time this week. Twice a week will be pretty unusual, but it was fun!

Here's to 239.8!

01-12-2011, 06:16 PM
There is no way you ate your daily caloric intake plus 3500 calories. It isn't a true gain! Girl you're so close!!!

Thanks CutieCourt!! I've been slugging down the water this week and eating pretty well. I should probably change my weigh in to Sunday morning. I do well on week days because I'm working, but once I weigh in on Saturday morning, I sort of relax... :o Gotta stay on track ALL weekend! :D I guess it's a constantly changing process, right?!

01-12-2011, 06:59 PM
Yay!! I just hit 249 today and I can't wait to get out :-D

01-13-2011, 02:37 AM
I am around 243lb - I had my first official weight last Friday & it was 247.3lb, then weighed myself y/day & was 243lb... so I'm hoping I only have another week or two in the 240's... I guess that's the good thing about just starting out, it doesn't take much for the weight to come off lol...

I'm eating better, watching portion control, exercising daily & drinking 2 liters of water a day :)

01-13-2011, 09:28 AM
Weighed this morning and still sitting on 242.0 Uggghhh!! Good news is that my back is feeling much better and I'm heading to the gym in just a little bit. Fingers are crossed!

01-13-2011, 05:43 PM
Glad your back is better Teresa - Good luck at the gym!

01-14-2011, 12:00 PM
:) y'all are doing so great!!! I weighed in this morning at 243.2!!! Ughhhhh!!!!!

I cant wait to make a YAY! we're in the 230's thread:)

Water, water, water! I need to get more!!

01-14-2011, 06:02 PM
My "official" Weight Watchers weigh in today was 241.6. I think I will see the 230's before next Friday! :D

01-15-2011, 04:49 PM
I weighed in this morning at 240.4! OMG!!! So close!!!!!!

Gale: Awesome! Its right around the corner!

01-15-2011, 04:56 PM
omg. I totally couldn't believe my eyes this morning!! I wieghed in at 237.0!!!! :yay: Officially my lowest weight on this journey so far! I drank tons of water this week (though I still probably barely made 50-60 oz a day, so nothing crazy!). I think that really helped. Of course, I also ate well this week - guess that makes a difference too! :p Keep up the hard work ladies -- it's soooo close!!

01-15-2011, 04:58 PM
CutieCourt: You lost 3 lb in a day!! I think it might be the water!! wtg! Another week like this and you're there!

Gale: Almost there!! Have a great week and next week will be it! I know it!

01-16-2011, 12:09 AM
I just got to 249, and now I want to get out of the 240's! I never new I could get excited about a mini goal, until I found this thread!

01-16-2011, 05:50 PM
Jen: Yesss! It was water retention. I looked at my sodium intake and it was over 3000mg. Some frozen dinners are NOT good to eat for lunch regardless if the calories are low!!

Cocoloco: You can do it! I was at 249 not too long ago:) Mini goals are what keep most of us going! It is easier for me to focus on small numbers then larger ones!!

This morning i stepped on the scale and ACTUALLY SAW 239.6!!! I could not believe my eyes. I got off the scale and said that cant be right. lol. My DH says, whats wrong, and i told him and he was like..well im sure it is! So i stepped back on for a third time and it said 239.6!

BUT i am not leaving this thread yet. Ive seen lows before and popped back up. Ill be in here until i know its the real deal! :)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Its a rainy texas day here, and pretty cold!

01-21-2011, 10:50 AM
Am I the only one still in the 240's? If so that's ok because I will be in the 230's thread soon ::hopefully::!! I weighed in this morning at 242.0, today is the last day of TTOM so I'm hoping to get back on track with exercise (been sick) and see the 230's officially by feb!!

How is everyone else doing? My scale is loving 242.0, it loved 251 like that too. :)

01-21-2011, 04:40 PM
Cutie, you are not the only one still in the 240's. :dz: My WW weigh in was 242.0 today, making it 6 weeks within 1/2 lb of this weight. Interestingly enough, that coincides with when WW started their new plan, and it's clearly NOT working for me. I've decided to save myself $40/month and go back to straight calorie counting. I'm going to try it for 6 weeks and if WW was working better (doubtful) then I'll go back. I did see 239.6 on the scale one day this week (I think it was Monday) but then I'm right back up to 241-242. :( It's ok, calorie counting is how I lost 65lbs in 2007 (and then had 2 babies in under 2 years since then) and I know it works. Here's to the 230's!!

01-21-2011, 05:42 PM
Keep pushing ladies, you're soo close! I spent close to two months getting out fo 240's, so I know how you feel! I'm desperately hoping to hang on to the 230's this week! :) Keep it up!

01-21-2011, 06:13 PM
Back just below 250 after gaining a few pounds in November and December. I pretty much stopped working out when it got cold, and also got really busy. 240 is a pretty symbolic number for me -- it's about what I weighed when I got married, it's been about 8 years since I weighed that little, and I know that I'll most likely go down another clothing size if I can get under it. I wanna be there! I am working really hard at the gym and trying to keep my calories around 1800. I hope not to be in this thread for long!

01-22-2011, 11:44 AM
got to 244.2 but today I'm 246.2 arrghh! Temporary set back, hope this changes in the next few days :-(

01-24-2011, 06:02 PM
240.8 on Saturday, UP on Sunday from lots of sodium, 241.6 today... if I stay on plan I WILL see the 230's by the end of the week, woohoo!

01-25-2011, 12:25 PM
240.4 today, woohoo! I'm so close I can taste it!!

01-26-2011, 11:24 AM
Buh-bye 240's!! I weighed in at 239.2 this morning, woohoo!!

01-26-2011, 09:22 PM
COngrats Gale02!! :yay: Way to go!

01-27-2011, 10:13 AM
Gale: yay!!!!! We will see you soon in the 230's thread!!!!

I weighed in this morn at 241.4! All the month the scale has been lingering!!!

We can do this ladies!!!!!

01-27-2011, 04:18 PM
Thanks ladies!

Cutie, you are SO close! Keep on keeping on and you'll see the 230's before you know it. :)

02-01-2011, 12:29 PM
Congrats Gale!!

Cutie - You're almost there.. gogogo! or did you make it out already?

I'm at 246 - I'm going to keep pushing, I want those 230's!

02-01-2011, 04:09 PM
Coco! I actually saw 238.0 on the scale this morning! I was pretty excited about it!!! I will still pop in here until i hit around 236.0.

Just making sure its real, because ive been kind of sick!

LADIES: You can get out of the 240's! I know you can! Its do-able, just never give up and keep your eyes on the prize (being healthy)!

02-01-2011, 05:57 PM
Congrats CutieCourt! WTG!! :yay:

02-01-2011, 06:30 PM
I wanna join i wanna join!! Ive been dancing around 244-245 for a couple weeks, i saw 236.8 for a second then it popped up again :(

My own doing though, i skipped the gym for almost a week and a half due to the cold, couldnt force myself out of my warm bed lol then to make it worse had a couple special occasions where i ended the day over my normal calorie goal.

Hopefully Im back on track now and will soon be seeing the 230s as well :D

02-04-2011, 03:34 AM
pnkrck: Hi! Welcome!!!!!!

Jen: Thanks!!!!!!!! I am pretty excited!! Congrats to you also!! Wow! Youre almost saying goodbye to the 230s! :)

02-05-2011, 11:42 PM
my weigh in yesterday was 240.8!!! i finally kicked 244 goodbye and I am so close to the 230s i can taste it, hopefully next week i will be in them and i dont get stuck again

02-06-2011, 02:28 AM
Great job ladies!!! :cb::carrot::broc:

02-06-2011, 03:27 PM
I am in a similar boat. Have been in the 240s for almost a month now, currently at 244 and off to a more controlled restart again after about 2 weeks of semi-laziness, i.e. eating well and with care but not counting calories and getting way too little exercise.

02-06-2011, 07:27 PM
I've been 248 for weeks and weeks, I need to get cracking on this or everyone will leave me behind!

One more pound. I only need one more pound until I am not longer morbidly obese and become severely obese. I need a kick up the bum to get me to it.

02-06-2011, 08:41 PM
This morning I saw 239.3 on the scale. I'm holding my breath and not declaring victory just yet. After all I've seen 238 once as well. :D

02-06-2011, 11:10 PM
Eh early this morning went up a pound to 248, my eating was spot on..only thing i can think of is the bloating I'm having..hoping tomorrow morning goes down again

Good luck you guys :)

02-08-2011, 11:36 AM
Hi Everybody!

I just hit 249 pounds yesterday! One more pound until I have my first 20 pound loss.

I look forward to getting to know all of you and working my way to the 230's

02-08-2011, 12:10 PM
Back down to 247 again lawl hope can break out of it tomorrow

02-08-2011, 12:32 PM
Down to 247 again..eating has been great..hopefully break out a new number tomorrow

02-08-2011, 02:35 PM
Y'all are doing great! Congrats! Forgot to weigh this morning cause i was running late to work, no worries though friday is my official weigh in, ive just had the superr munchie feeling i seem to get before the scale goes down so i wanna see what its doing. Ill just have to try to remember to weigh in tomorrow :) just wanted to pop in and see how everyone else was faring

02-09-2011, 10:47 AM
I saw 244.4 this morning! So I'm back!!! Gahhhhhhhhhh!!! So frustrated with things. The scale keeps going up! 5 pounds in 1 week. WTH!

I can do this!

02-09-2011, 12:00 PM
awwww cutie! *hugs* could it be water retention from sodium, or a new exercise routine, or TOM?

I weighed in this morning @ 238.6 YAY!!!! It doesn't really count for me until fridays weigh in confirms the loss but it was good to see I was spot on about the munchie thing. hope everyone else is doing ok!

02-10-2011, 10:49 AM
woo! finally, after going up and down a pound, finally down a new number.. 246 :)

02-10-2011, 02:14 PM
Congrats pnk and alsten!!

I weighed in at 242 today, which I'm relieved about since my weight spiked to 248 last week. Eek! I hope to see the numbers go down, down, down from here on. :D

02-10-2011, 07:34 PM
Hi everyone! After hanging out in the 250's for a while, I hit 248 at my weigh in today so I hope there's room for me in this club. And I also hope not to be a member for too long! :dizzy:

02-11-2011, 02:09 PM
I weighed in today and I weighed in at 240.4! I must have been retaining major amounts of water earlier this week. I can't taste 230's.

02-11-2011, 02:25 PM
grats you guys :D keep going!

02-11-2011, 03:26 PM
Hello everyone, today is my official weigh in and......... 237.0!!!! I've come to say goodbye to this thread, i hope to never see it again :) i do hope to see y'all soon, however, in the 230s thread. *waves*

02-12-2011, 05:03 AM
Nice job pixikat!!! :woohoo:

Congrats Teresa, it looks like you left us!

CutieCourt get out of here, and back to the 230's! lol

Congrats alsten, almost half way there! :carrot:

Welcome to the 240's sperrin, and Riesz! Hopefully you wont be here long! :goodluck:

I weighed 241.2 this morning, and am hoping to get to the 230's within a week! I'm going to try hard!

02-12-2011, 10:35 AM
I can't believe I'm finally here!! I used to look longingly at this thread - and now I can OFFICIALLY post!! This morning, I was 249!

02-12-2011, 12:14 PM
I'm finally back into the 240s. It seems like my scale loves 249. I'm on the cusp, but have only been here for like 2 weeks. I'm ready to see the steady loss. I just started and am hoping i'm not hitting plateau already. Come to think about it. Next week is TOM, so maybe that's why the weight has stalled. In addition, I did low carb for a week and found that my body did not tolerate that well. So I switched back to 1200cal low fat. That could have something to do with it also. I'm now trying to muster up motivation to get on the treadmill.

02-12-2011, 01:56 PM
Weighed in at 238.8 this morning!!! I'm going to post in the 230's thread sometime this weekend!!! Can't wait for you wonderful ladies to join me!

02-12-2011, 01:58 PM
Coco- lol you made me laugh!!!

Pixicat- woooohooooo!! I'll see u there!

02-19-2011, 11:17 PM
Today was my weigh in, and I was... 239.4 yay... goodbye 240's!!

02-20-2011, 10:48 AM
Wow Coco, Congrats.

02-20-2011, 08:25 PM
I just got down into the 240s and, while I'm so happy to have gotten here, now I want to get outta here! I am ready to be in the 230s again.

I started a weight loss contest at work and was weighed in at 265. I have until tax day and I plan on being in the 230s and loving the looks on everyone's faces when it is announced. There are some pretty smug people who were rolling their eyes at me and didn't want me on their teams. Guess what? They are all asking me how I'm losing so much weight! HA!

South Beach, mostly:D

02-20-2011, 09:02 PM
I've graduated to this thread, too -- weighed in at 249.8 two days ago. Woot woot!

CherryPie, hello to a fellow 240's noob!

dcapulet,

02-22-2011, 02:14 PM
Holding steady this week, but being on point with diet and exercise will hopefully change that. :)

02-22-2011, 09:26 PM
Hi everyone! I've been a member for almost two months (and sadly, a lurker for years), so I think it's time to start getting more active on the boards.

As of today, my weight is 244.4. Twenty pounds lost since I started!

02-22-2011, 10:37 PM
Hi Guys!

I weighed in at 244."something" for the last few days.

I really struggled with my food intake today. The combination of my son's 5 th birthday and a huge chemistry exam today really stressed me out. So, since I am not smoking anymore, I found myself turning to food.

I am really down on myself tonight. I am so mad that I let myself eat like I
did. I should be proud that I didn't smoke but I just don't feel that way.

Anywho, congrats to Cutie and Coco!

02-25-2011, 02:26 PM
Hi, I'm just joining you all from the 250's thread. Last two days have been 249.8.

02-25-2011, 02:49 PM
Down to 243.4 ... :carrot:

Hoping to leave this thread within the next two weeks.

02-25-2011, 06:17 PM
Heya everyone! Today is my first day here! Just hit 249 today! :D

02-26-2011, 11:51 AM
Hey guys! Yet another transfer from the 250s thread here. I'm right at the top, but I've weighed-in in the 249 range a couple times now, so I'm going to go ahead and consider that official. I was stuck at 251ish for about a week, so I'm happy to finally be here at 249.4 this morning. Looking forward to moving out of this thread with you all, as well...lol.

02-26-2011, 02:46 PM
Welcome everyone who just came from the 250's thread! Spring is in the air and hopefully lbs will be dropping off.

I hit 141 by a nose this morning, so I'm hoping to soon say goodbye to the 240's forever!

02-27-2011, 02:58 PM
Hello ladies,

I have been at 242 for two days now. I am hoping to leave this thread by St. Patty's Day.

02-27-2011, 04:35 PM
Congrats everyone that made it to this thread!! :cb: You can do it, kiss those 240's goodbye! It took me a month to get out.. Some people it will take less time, some more, but don't give up and you will get to the 230's before you know it!

Sperrin you're so close, you can make it by St. Pattys!:cheer2:

02-28-2011, 09:56 AM
Still right at 249.4 this morning. It flickered down as far as 247.6, then went back up to 248.4, then held steady at 249.4 every other attempt at confirmation. I will most definitely be getting a new scale after payday. This getting excited about little losses, just to find out I didn't even really budge, is getting old...lol.

Sperrin - You're so close! I echo Coco's sentiments...I have no doubt you'll get out of this thread by St. Patrick's. Here's a pinch of Irish luck for you! :luck2you: ;)

02-28-2011, 12:38 PM
Thanks girls! 241.8 this morning. I am toying around with the idea of giving the 30DS another try. Hopefully that will push me over the ledge pretty quickly.

03-01-2011, 12:25 AM
My scale does the same thing Ophelia, I so have to buy a new one. I use my wii for my weights because it's more consistent. But the scale is so much quicker, I keep hoping it will start working right.
Getting pretty close Sperrin, I'm sure you'll be out by st. patty's.
As for me, jumped back up to 250.4 yesterday, but thanks to my excellent water drinking and salt avoidance, am back down to 249.8. Gotta keep avoiding the salt, makes me hold water like crazy and messes with my bp.

03-01-2011, 09:47 AM
248 today. :)

03-01-2011, 10:19 AM
 to all the new transfers!

Tori and Ophelai - boo to that! I used to have a scale that did that - i finally couldn't take it any more, so I tossed it!

Starting this week at 249 - hope to be less on Sunday!

03-01-2011, 10:53 AM
Just a quick check-in to say that I was 248.0 this morning. Happy to be moving downward again!

Tori - I may try out my Wii later to see what it says vs my regular scale. Could be worth it until I can get a new one, if it works better.

03-02-2011, 01:29 PM
WI was down .2 at 247.8 this morning...slowly, but surely, I'm still moving down. Also, I forgot to compare on my Wii scale before I ate breakfast this morning, so I'll have to try to remember to check that tomorrow. Still curious.

Anyway, how are you guys doing today?

03-02-2011, 06:50 PM
247.8 today. Making progress, although we will see if it holds because I haven't had much to eat since yesterday afternoon. Sick kids are a good diet apparently.

03-02-2011, 08:14 PM
247 today.woot.

03-02-2011, 08:45 PM
240.8 today. My body sure seems to like the .8's for some reason. Lol!

03-02-2011, 11:54 PM
Mine likes the .8's to sperrin. Not sure what that is about, but it seems that's where I am most of the time.

03-03-2011, 04:22 PM
My WI this morning ended up settling on 246.8, which is -1.0 down, but I'm not sure. Still having struggles with my scale. Also, I finally did do a comparison weigh with my Wii scale this morning, Tori. I made a post about it on the daily weigh-in thread, so I hope you guys don't mind if I just quote that section for reference instead of typing it all again.

Well, my weigh-in this morning was confusing, lol. My scale confirmed 247.2 or 247.4 (I always have to check three times before I will accept a weight on this scale because it's been on the fritz), but then - while I was writing the personals below, I'd forgotten which one of those it had been, so I got up and checked it again and now it's confirming me in at 246.8. I tried several different times, and it kept coming up with that, so I will take that one...haha. That will mean a 1 lb loss for the day.

But, then...(sorry for the long story here, lol)...I remembered this morning that I was talking on another thread about trying my Wii scale in comparison to my regular one because it has been so extremely glitchy lately, and it ended up coming up with a smidge below 243.0...what the heck!? :headache: Do any of you have such huge differences between traditional scales and the Wii one? Obviously, I like the Wii reading better, but I'm going to stick with the regular scale for the sake of consistency. That being said, however, I am probably going to go out and get a new scale sometime this week. I keep talking about it, but this has been the straw on the metaphorical camel's back. If I'm going to be doing these daily weighing projects, I need some dependable accuracy.

Anyone else notice this? Anyway, congrats to everyone's losses yesterday! Oh, and it seems my body is the same way as well lately, Sperrin...maybe .8s are the in thing this week, lol.

03-03-2011, 07:05 PM
Hmm, my scale actually weighs me lower most of the time. But the Wii is about 2.5 pounds off from my dr's office, which accounting for winter clothes and shoes seems about right. Even if it is a little low, at least it is consistent, still may have to get a new scale though.

03-04-2011, 12:00 AM
I got a 239.8 this morning. We will see if it sticks tomorrow.

I am starting to notice a difference in my jeans now. Unfortunately they are super baggy in the butt and legs but fit the waist. I tried the next size down and they fit but are little more snug in the waist than I like. Ever since I have been PG with my kids I can't stand my pants to feel tight around my stomach at all.

Anyhow, hoping to see the 230's again in the morning but doubtful as I had waaay too much sodium today. Darn soup :(

03-04-2011, 12:32 AM
Wow, sperrin, you are flying through these threads. It may not stick tomorrow, but it sure won't be long until you leave the 240's for good. I feel you on the sodium, it is the devil of dieting (well, right up there with chocolate for me.)

03-04-2011, 12:49 PM
I knew it was too good to be true. 240.6 this morning.

I am definitely chugging the H20 this weekend and avoiding the salt as much as possible. It doesn't help that I have been craving Panera's french onion soup like crazy lately.

Tori- I have a chocolate abuse problem too. LOL! It is better if I just avoid it all together. Once I start, I can't stop.

03-04-2011, 01:05 PM
I am back up 0.8 this morning to 247.6. I think it was from eating too few calories yesterday (only ended up getting in about 1000), as well as working out and being a little short on my water. Definitely going to drink more water today and see what happens tomorrow!

I had no idea how much my weight stalled when I ate under calories - as much as overeating - until I came to 3FC and starting keeping track of everything. I'm still struggling to find that perfect range for my body to lose weight without sputtering out and getting stuck. The Daily Plate tracker has my calorie limit set right around 1300, but I think I may try upping my limit to 1400 to see what happens.

03-04-2011, 01:35 PM
Ophelia- It seems like my weight started coming off more quickly when I upped my intake to 15-1600. I started out between 13-1400.

03-05-2011, 11:14 AM
Good morning, ladies (and any gents)! I'm a new member of the 240's - 249.1 as of this AM! I can't believe I finally weigh less than the weight on my drivers license which was already a good 75lbs less than what I actually was at the time.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

03-05-2011, 01:57 PM
Hello everyone, another new (old) face checking in. I am so glad to be here. I have been in the 250s thread for months!!!

Nice to see all the familiar faces doing so well. Looking good, folks!!!

03-05-2011, 02:35 PM
Still here. I actually gained 2lbs, but still in the 240's at 246.2.

03-05-2011, 03:14 PM
Had another sporadic reading from the scale, but was finally able to get 5 consecutive results in 3 different places on the floor (lol), so today's WI is 246.0...back down a little from the workout + not enough water. Still on the hunt for a good scale. Now that it's Saturday, I may use today for research. How is everyone's weekend going so far?

Sperrin - I may try that, too. I've always been so nervous about calories when I'm trying to lose weight, so I think that's why I tend to go so much lower than some of the things I've read here. I remember in high school, my dad forbid me to eat more than 1200 calories a day for two weeks, because he said that's the "magic number" for losing weight. I know now that everyone's bodies are different, and that calorie needs also go by size, but it's been a little difficult to shed the notion in actuality. Experiment time! Thanks for the input. :)

ShesLosingIt - Welcome to the 240s thread! You're doing awesome.

Bunti - Hey Bunti! Nice to see you move down here. Welcome!

Caring4myself - Glad to see you're still here...that 2 lbs won't slow you down!

03-06-2011, 10:31 AM
Thanks, Ophelia! You're doing fantastically well yourself! My weekend is great, it's just too dang short!

FWIW, I just recently (a month ago?) bought a Taylor 5786 digital scale from Costco for $19.99 after rebate and I'm loving it - well, as much as one can love a scale. It gives my muscle mass readout, water weight %, BMI and its fairly accurate - it's 0.1 lb higher than my doctor's office.

Today's WI was 247.4 which means 160lbs lost as of today and, even better, only 48 more lbs left to go to be under 200. I may or may not have done a little dance in the bathroom at 7:30a.

03-06-2011, 07:05 PM
Hello everyone - Just thought I would introduce myself cos I'm new here. I'm currently hovering at 112kg (246 pound) and thought I might need a wee bit of online support before I give up yet again! I'm a shoking YOYO dieter. So hope you don't mind if I butt in!

As you can probably see I've been here before a long time ago, since then a few things have happened - Married and now have a 5 month old wee boy. I see from updating my ticker I had put on 13kg since then **sigh** so I need to get back on track.

03-07-2011, 12:02 AM
ShesLosingIt - I checked, and there isn't even a Costco in this entire state! That seems so weird to me...I'm originally from Northern California, so I'm still adjusting to how little this area has to offer, lol. Closest one is about 140mi away down in Texas. Thanks for the tip, though! I checked out a few online, but I've been getting really impatient, so I ended up picking one up at Wal-Mart tonight. (Pretty much one of the only bigger stores this place has.) I know it's just a lower-end WM one, but I got one of the nicest ones there...tracks the BMI, Body Fat, Hydration, etc, as well, so at least it will give me something new to tinker with for my daily weigh-ins. I've read some reviews on the model I chose since I got home, and I've heard mostly positive things. So, we'll see! I'm saving the receipt until I get a feel for how accurate it is, so there is still the possibility of getting one online. I will update on what it says for me in the morning. Anyways...sorry about such a long-winded reply on that, lol. More importantly, CONGRATS on hitting 160 lbs lost! That's amazing! I would have done a full-on, movie montage style dance over that, so feel no shame...hahah. :congrat:

MissLoud - Welcome to the thread, and welcome back to 3FC! Also, congrats on the marriage and the little one. I'm sure you'll get off the extra weight in no time now that you're back on here.

03-07-2011, 11:47 AM
down another lb, 246, feels like that was the longest week evar for a one lb losss. Oh well, it's not a gain. :D

03-07-2011, 03:10 PM
I guess I am going to say goodbye to you ladies for now. I weighed in at 237 this morning. I checked again this afternoon and was 237.8 :)

I hope to see you all really soon in the 230's thread.

03-07-2011, 05:20 PM
Well no change on the darn scales for me this week **sigh** I really don't know how some of you can jump on the scales everyday, I'd be a wreak! I have been sick this week so super lazy so will have to kick it up a gear as my mum tells me we are having family photos taken in April (gee thanks mum!!) god I hate having photos taken. I mean I can avoid a mirror but photos are forever right.

Thanks for the welcome ophelia - and wow you girls are all doing so amazing but I second the movie montage dance comment! maybe there is a reason I'm not skinny - I think I would strut around like that all the time!

03-07-2011, 08:45 PM
Well, today was the first weigh-in with my new scale. I stepped on it several times for confirmation, and it was much more consistent than my old one. It weighed me in right at 244.0. I compared to my old scale to see how different they were, and it read 245.4, so today will be my official transition post. I ended up actually being 244.0 (woo!), but there was only a -0.8 loss since yesterday. I will be reflecting the accurate weight in my long haul ticker, but my lbs lost for March will stay consistent with my actual loss from the beginning, and then April will be a fresh start for everything. (Sorry if that was confusing, lol.) In other news, I did right around 1400 calories again for the second day last night, and I still managed to lose, so maybe my body is adjusting to handling that many calories while still losing. It's one of my workout nights tonight, so I will see what my weigh-in says in the morning, as well.

Lottie - Yes, a loss is a loss! Congrats on the lb. My weight loss has been going slow this week, too...frustrating, but - like you - I'm just happy it's not going up, lol.

Sperrin - WOOO, excellent job! :congrat: Hopefully I will be following you soon, so save a spot for me! ;)

MissLoud - I post on the daily weigh-in thread on here, as well, so I usually just make my rounds when I come on here to post my updates...otherwise, I used to only weigh a couple times a week. It's been helping me keep track of what my body can or can't handle, but it definitely does have it's frustrating moments with all the natural fluctuations from day to day. It keeps me accountable, though. Also, I'm the same way...I think I will be dancing around all the time when I'm thin and healthy again, haha.

03-08-2011, 11:06 AM
Bad weigh-in this morning. :(

Maybe I was mistaken about my body being able to handle 1400 calories and still lose. I didn't go over on sodium, I drank my water, etc, but I still had a +1.4 bounce back up to 245.4. It was my third day of 1400 calories, but my first workout day since increasing. I'm hoping I'm just retaining some fluids from the workout, but I'm nervous. I really hope the scale goes back down tomorrow...I want to get out of these 240s already!

03-08-2011, 11:51 AM
hello everyone! Ive been lurking on 3FC for a while now and figured it was time to get involved. I do soooo much better if I focus on weight loss 10 lbs at a time so this is a wonderful thread to be involved in!

This morning I weighed in at 246.6. I had a horrible weekend--my husband was home for our anniversary and we ate out more than normal. Im trying to get back on the wagon but it seems its harder this week after indulging.

03-08-2011, 05:02 PM
Hi Halo - The sad thing is that we all want to leave!

Oh bummer Ophelia! hopefully its just fluid.

I'm sadly lacking in motivation today, I need to go to the supermarket as we've got nothing in the house and had to resort to pasta last night and that does nothing for my hips even if I was under my calories. But I'm not taking a 5 month old to do the shopping. Looks like its going to be a nice day though, I love Autumn more than summer, such a weirdo!

03-08-2011, 06:07 PM
Im hoping to leave soon as well!

03-08-2011, 06:18 PM
Halo - Welcome to the thread!

MissLoud - Yeah, I'm still trying to get myself excited about today, and it's already after 4pm here, lol. I think I'm probably still 'blah' from this morning, though. I was thinking about going for a walk while there's still some sunshine to see if that lifts my spirits any. We'll see! Also, you're not weird...Autumn is my favorite season of the year, as well. ;)

03-09-2011, 11:04 AM
Im a bit annoyed this morning. I think when I started losing weight I had this idea it would come off faster because I am so overweight. I realized in 4 weeks I have only lost 4 lbs. It seems like a lot of work for such a small number.

But--its coming off and i SHOULD be thrilled with that. :halfempty

03-09-2011, 01:12 PM
I totally had this whoosh coming. 3 lbs in 3 days!:

03-09-2011, 01:49 PM
I'm still a bit up from the other day, but at least I've come back down a bit (-0.4) to an even 245.0. Had a workout last night, and still staying steady with my 1400 experiment. Hopefully, I'll start going back down again like I was before upping the calories...as always, we shall see!

Halo - Losing weight can be difficult sometimes, but - other times - we get little wooshes that keep the wind in the sails, so to speak, lol. If you don't mind me asking, do you have any particular type of plan you are following? Also, do you drink enough water? Either way, you're losing, and that *is* great!

Lottie - Congrats on the solid losses! Also, I saw you mention the 75% raw weeks...how are you liking that? I've looked into doing raw experiments before, but never got around to doing it. I'm already a vegetarian, so it seems like it could be a natural enough transition, and you have brought the idea back to my attention.

03-09-2011, 02:51 PM
Sometimes I get frustrated because I lose very slowly.

But wait. That isn't really true. I can lose pretty rapidly by unwise eating habits, but cannot sustain them.

My slow loss is because I have changed my lifestyle to a way I can live with for a long, long time. I am not on a diet, I am making a positive lifestyle change. And if I do what I am doing now, I will be at goal in a year and a half. I will have given up nothing but my tendency to eat way to large portions, empty sugary or starchy junk, and activate my binging.

My changes are working. My patience is what isn't. :D

03-09-2011, 02:56 PM
Nicely put, Bunti! I know we're all trying to rush to our varying maintenance goals, but looking at it like that helps keep the bigger picture in perspective. We are all changing our lives, not just our waistlines!

03-09-2011, 03:06 PM
Basically I found out I was diabetic in the beginning of Feb so I have added lots of fruits and veggies and keep track of carbs. Plus I follow a calorie counting app. It has me at 1300 calories a day but I actually eat a range between 1300 and 1500.

I need to work on my water intake. Ive always been really bad about drinking enough. I have cut out all soda in hopes I would drink a lot more water.

03-09-2011, 03:09 PM
These changes I have made have been a slow gradual process. I felt I may be diabetic months ago and started making changes before I got the courage to face the facts and go to the doctor.

Its been so gradual that it IS something I can maintain for a lifetime.

03-09-2011, 09:10 PM
Well, I'm up to 248.2. Not exactly happy with that, but I am glad it's not any more. I have been so off plan, well not off, but not paying a lot of attention to what I eat. My kids have been sick and I've just been grabbing whatever was quick and easy, so I know I've had too much salt and I'm sure my calories have been a little high. I hope once I've been doing this a little longer, that eating well will become a habit instead of something I have to think about. Anyway, kids are healthier again, so I will have time to plan what I eat again and am hoping that I can get back on track quickly.

03-10-2011, 01:38 PM
Had way too much sodium and went a little over on carbs yesterday, so I was expecting a bounce. I weighed in at 244.8, which is actually a -0.2 loss. Not great, but better than the gain I was expecting. Makes me wonder if I may have had a mini whoosh had I not had all that sodium yesterday. :sorry: Probably not, but it still makes me want to kick myself...lol.

Halo - I'm sorry to hear about you being diabetic, but I'm glad you've found something sustainable despite it! It was a wise decision to alter your diet as soon as you felt that may be the case, so good job! Work on the water, and I bet you'll be golden. ;)

Tori - I am happy to hear your family is feeling well again! Nursing sick loved ones back to health always tends to take precedence over us worrying so much about our own health...probably not the greatest thing for us, but a natural inclination, nonetheless. I'm sure you'll be back on track right away now that every one is feeling better and you have freed up a little focus.

03-10-2011, 01:55 PM
Quick fly-by today. Just had to tell you ladies about this. Yesterday I found myself needing to eat at night, because I had forgotten to eat lunch. I was busy and the time flew. What's the big deal, you might ask? Well, I cannot recall ever forgetting to eat without being ravenous. It was funny. Trying to get my calories in for the day without eating junk. Well, an extra salad with blue cheese dressing, 2 ounces of salmon and some avocado did it.... it a healthy way. I guess you would call it an NSV.

03-10-2011, 02:21 PM
Way to go Bunti, I would definitely say that qualifies as a nsv. Especially the healthy way you got your calories in, for me it's easy to eat junk when I'm low on calories. Ophelia, you may just have a whoosh coming, drink lots of water to get rid of the sodium and see what happens.
As for me, day 1 back on track proved how bad I've been eating, down to 247.1, so I'm sure it was a lot of water weight from those icky processed foods. Headed to the grocery store to stock back up on healthy foods, I am literally out of veggies and good stuff.

03-11-2011, 05:22 PM
Finally some progress again! I added in a long walk with my regular exercise program and increased my water to over 100oz yesterday + got to sleep in a bit this morning; as a reward, I did get my little overdue woosh...-1.8 down to 243.0 today!

Bunti - That's great, and most definitely a NSV! :yay:

Tori - Ever since joining 3FC, I've been much more on top of getting in my 8 glasses of water each day, but increasing it even more seems to have helped...thank you! Also, congrats on your loss, as well. It looks like you're snapping back quite quickly, which is a very good sign! :)

03-12-2011, 10:47 AM
Hi all,

Weighed in at 243.2 today - soooo close to the 230's!!!

03-12-2011, 10:56 AM
I've been feeling like the 240's have been taunting me - I've been THISCLOSE to getting out for a while now. I am happy to report this morning I was rewarded with the number 238 on my scale, so I'm bidding this thread adieu.

See everyone in the 230's!!

03-12-2011, 01:19 PM
Weighed in at 245 this morning. That's -1.6. :cheer2:

03-12-2011, 11:23 PM
Today's weigh-in 247.6

Congrats Ophelia Phoenix, Halo, dcapulet, ToriLeigh and bye bye Cherry Pie!! Wahoo!!!

We are all heading the right direction.

03-13-2011, 12:03 AM
Well, I had a tiny bouce up to 243.2 today. Which is interesting, because I think it's from getting too few calories yesterday. This getting to know my body and how it works has been a curious adventure, lol.

dcapulet - Ha, we're exact twins for the day! ;)

CherryPie - Congrats! Can't wait to say the same. See you in the other thread soon, I hope! :)

Halo - That's a nice woosh, great job!

Bunti - Thank you, and I know...looking forward to us all to joining Cherry soon.

03-13-2011, 01:35 AM
Bad bad day. Not even gonna post my weight, I refuse to accept it. I think it's salt and TOM, an evil combo. Anyway, extra water tomorrow and NO SALTY STUFF. I need to make a poster that says that since I'm still good as far as calories go. On the positive side, I found a new favorite snack, red peppers with spinach and artichoke humus. So good.

03-13-2011, 05:01 PM
Salty stuff got me yesterday too Tori. Slight bounce today. Need to go back to weekly weighing, lol. But I could feel the water I am retaining today.
Still OP, this will work, I know.

03-13-2011, 09:40 PM
Yeah, I knew that weight was not true. Still up a little, but lost 3.2 pounds of the 4 that I gained. That up and down is pure water but I still hate it.

03-14-2011, 07:52 AM
Thanks bunti and opehlia! Ophelia, I always wanted a twin, so nice that it's you!

We 2 weeks left in march, it would be sooo nice to start of april in the 230's! So what I am doing this week to get there?

1. Planned exercised - 60 min at least 5 days
2. Weight training at the gym
3. Eating all those new yummy fruits and veggies I bought
4. Watching that sodium! (a killer for me)
5. Having protein shakes when I am so hungry but have already eaten

:coffee2: and  to all!

03-14-2011, 01:58 PM
Looks like you've got a plan, Miss C. Mine is to just keep on pluggin' away.

And drink my water. I love it, don't know why I am getting behind. It makes such a difference.

Tori, I hate that water thing too, but at least we know about it, and wont beat ourselves up-- too much anyway. Glad your coming back down.

03-14-2011, 11:43 PM
Weigh-in was 242.4 today, even after a yummy - but somewhat carb-ridden - homecooked meal last night. Went to a buffet-style restaurant tonight, so I'm hoping I didn't hurt myself too much with that. I still sampled my favorites that I no longer cook at home, but I kept them sample-sized, literally, and I made sure to eat some salad and fresh fruit first to help fill up the stomach a bit before indulging. I think I did okay, considering where I was. Plus, I got to get a taste of a couple of my old comfort foods, so it was a nice treat. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that any heinous amounts of sodium I may have gotten don't derail me too much by morning.

dcapulet - That's my goal, too...I would like to be solidly in the 230s by April. Here's to both of us getting these next few pounds to come off before then!

Bunti - Increasing my water has been a godsend, so I know what you mean. Not sure how I ever lost much weight without it in any real way before. I even carry around a water bottle with me when I leave the house now. Such a change from before I came to 3FC, lol.

03-15-2011, 01:26 PM
Quick flyby today ladies. Still on plan, but too darn busy to get my exercise in, at least as much as I like. Guess I will have to choose between sleep and exercise, darn it. Or exercise before bed??? Any ideas??

03-15-2011, 06:32 PM
I'm back to confess that I had two bad weeks! The first week, I ate right and exercised, but the scale didn't move. It frustrated me, of course. Then last week, I was out of town and trying to help someone get their house in shape. Lots of stress, lots of sodium, not enough water, and (by the end of the week) eating out with abandon.

My weight made it back up to 247 briefly, but is at 245.4 today. I'm disappointed that I won't be in the 230's in time for my birthday tomorrow, but at least now that I am home, I'm back to eating better. Think marathon, right?

03-15-2011, 06:47 PM
Quick update to say that I came in at 241.0 this morning, which is a -1.4 loss. Surprising to say the least. Feeling a little dehydrated though, so that may be part of it. We shall see tomorrow, but - for now - I will take it. Getting so close, I don't want to get stalled up now!

Bunti - I've heard from many sources that exercising right before bed is bad for you, because it will energize you and make it hard to fall or stay asleep. That being said however, the only time I have for my own workouts is in the evening, as well. So, what I've been doing is trying to work it in at least an hour or two before I plan on going to bed, and it hasn't been causing any issues that way. Then again, I have insomnia anyways, which is why I try to be careful not to exacerbate it too much, but I haven't noticed any increased difficulty since working out on that schedule. Or maybe what you can do, instead of one big workout at night, maybe try incorporating shorter, more manageable, and easy to fit in exercises at intervals throughout the day? There are some good resources online for exercises that aren't too awkward to do, even while at work or running about tackling errands all day. Good luck!

Unbelieveable - As long as you're back on track and ready to make your better choices, I forsee no issues for you getting any weight or toxicity back off and out of your body. Just pick it right back up, and welcome back! Also, happy early birthday! :celebrate:

03-15-2011, 07:10 PM
bunti - can you squeeze in a few broken up sessions? 10 min here and there?

Opehlia - we WILL make it - and you are 1.4 lbs closer. congrats!

unbelieve - glad your back. happy birthday early! - and YES, think MARATHON!!

Me - 25 min elliptical, 20 min stair master, 35 min weights - done!

03-16-2011, 04:46 PM
Hello all! Longtime lurker. I've been in the 240s for a while now but this morning I weighed in at 243 so hopefully I'll be in the 230s soon!!!

03-16-2011, 04:53 PM
Weigh-in was 240.4 today...just gotta keep it up!

dcapulet - Nice workout! Those machines are the killers for me too, so I'm impressed, haha.

LaMariposa - Welcome, and you're almost there!

03-16-2011, 05:35 PM
243. My stomach hates me, but at least I'm still going in the right direction.

03-18-2011, 02:51 AM
Just checking in. No change on the scale, I peeked, but official weighin is not til Saturday. Managing to get some treadmill time in. Still gotta plan better. Hope you are all doing great!

03-18-2011, 09:39 AM
You all are doing so great!!!

03-18-2011, 09:41 AM
This has been the hardest decade for me to break through I think. If not for real then definitely mentally. I know I've lost 5 lbs this month, but...the last two weeks I've been kind of bouncing around except for this one lb loss. :(

I've been having stomach issues and I'm pretty sure that is the cause. hopefully by sat/sunday I'll see another lb drop.

03-19-2011, 05:24 PM
Weigh in was 239.6 this morning, but I'm going to wait until tomorrow to see if I maintain it before trying to move threads or anything...still a little too close to be sure. Also, I have a birthday party to attend tonight, so hopefully tomorrow will still go well. I'm thinking of bringing a fruit tray, just to help ward off any major sweet tooth attacks for which birthday parties are so notorious. We shall see!

Bunti - Good luck with your official weigh-in!

CutieCourt - You too! :)

Lottie - I'm sorry you're having stomach issues, and I hope you feel better soon.

03-20-2011, 12:22 PM
Just a quick note before I rush off to work...was back up to 240.4 this morning. Oh well. :( It was nice to see it at least. Going to drink a lot of water today and see what happens tomorrow.

03-20-2011, 06:12 PM
I'm holding steady after an up and down week. Still TOM, I think I hate Mirena at this point, but I don't know if a long period continues to effect weight or not, never happened to me before, so I will continue to drink my water, watch my calories and see what happens. It may be time to cut calories a little more, but want to be careful with Cal's food supply because chunky babies (unlike chunky me) are cute (and healthy.)

03-21-2011, 03:31 AM
Today 246.6. Still going down, slowly. But I feel good and am moving a little more each day. Getting up a little early to get the walking in. Long day's work tomorrow, will try and take a break mid-day for some movement!

Tori, you're doing great, and you are right to do what you are doing.

Opheliaphoenix. You are so close. Soon, and we will hopefully be right behind you. Oh, I am originally from Northern California too. Bodega Bay as a kid, then Eureka as an adult. Now that I am in Alaska I miss it each day.

03-21-2011, 10:00 AM
242 today!

FINALLY. :D Also my stomach seems better for now. yay.

03-21-2011, 12:10 PM
243.2 this morning

03-21-2011, 12:49 PM
Wahoo!! We're all heading in the right direction. Great job everyone!!

03-21-2011, 05:09 PM
Okay, I was back down to 239.4 this morning...I think my scale is toying with me! Again, I will see where I am tomorrow before I declare anything official.

Tori - Ouch, good luck with the extended TOM. I think you are doing the right thing by waiting it out before changing your calories, though...healthy babies are priority, with which I can tell you agree. ;)

Bunti - You are doing great, as well...and, yay for other NorCals! I was situated pretty close to the middle of your two towns, over in the Chico area. And, it's really nice near Eureka...I almost moved to Arcata, because I was going to go to Humboldt State right after HS, but some plans changed, and I never moved up there. Shame, because I loved the area. It must be so different in Alaska! I've never been, but my parents lived there for a year or two, as did my DH before I met him...aside from a few of their tales of remarkable natural beauty in the skies and landscape, they have all confirmed mostly horror stories about long winters and unbearable cold! I'd love to visit, but I don't think I could live there, lol.

Lottie - Woo, I'm glad you're finally feeling better! :yay:

Halo - Congrats on the nice loss! :)

03-21-2011, 11:54 PM
Woohoo, the scale is moving again! 246.5 today. And yea for everyone on the downward progress! Hope not to see you here again, Ophelia, but I will catch up with you in the 230's.

03-22-2011, 05:45 PM
Weigh-in was at 239.2 this morning, so - while it is still very close - I believe it is official now. Thanks for everything guys, and I will see you all VERY soon in the next thread...you're all doing great!

03-23-2011, 08:34 AM
Looks like upping my water is helping! I weighed in at 242 this morning. :)

03-23-2011, 05:09 PM

03-23-2011, 05:25 PM
Reached 247.6 yesterday - finally out of the 40 BMI zone! Didn't get to weigh in this morning but I've been working hard exercise and calorie wise and I'm hoping to be 246 point something!

03-23-2011, 05:42 PM
I was at 239.5 this morning. I'm gonna give it a couple of more days and weigh-in to see if I'm still there. I haven't been in the 230s over 8 years, I think!

03-25-2011, 12:45 PM
Wow!! Everyone is doing great!! I'll miss you guys until I get there!

03-25-2011, 01:04 PM
I have been stuck in the 240's for almost 3 weeks! These last 3 pounds need to come off! I hope everyone else is doing well!

03-27-2011, 09:58 AM
this morning - 240.8! I'm getting close... hopefully next week.

03-28-2011, 05:32 PM
240 today, Hoping for 239 tomorrow since it's my weigh in for the study.

03-29-2011, 01:49 AM
Hey ladies, looks like I'll be here with you for awhile...I'm 246.5 and I really want to be out the 240's in the next month and a half (but we'll see how that goes) glad to have a group of great women to help me on my way!

03-29-2011, 12:49 PM
Welcome Fit4Lyfe-- there is another 240s thread as well. Glad to have you.

03-29-2011, 12:52 PM

03-29-2011, 01:55 PM
Welcome Fit4Lyfe-- there is another 240s thread as well. Glad to have you.

Thanks Bunti...I saw that it's the 240's to 260's right? I will pop over and say hi! Anyway, I am down to 240. today (-.5), but I'm sure that's from getting back on my water drinking, I had 102 oz. yesterday and I am ready to gulp it down again...:carrot::carrot::carrot:

p.s. I need a new scale! DARNNIT! I want a really nice one, so I am using the ones upstairs which I hate until I can go to a bigger store and get a nice one.

03-30-2011, 02:27 PM
Hey ladies, down to 244.4 today, I can be out of here in 2 weeks!!!

03-30-2011, 02:37 PM
I weighed in at 239 this morning!

03-31-2011, 02:15 PM
Awww man...back up to 246.2 (I'm on the cusp of TTOM, so I'm not that upset) but last night my grandmother made a real down-home meal and I pigged out on Mac n' Cheese!!! It's the devil!

04-01-2011, 03:30 AM
245 and counting down

04-09-2011, 01:54 PM
Ack. havent posted for awhile. Still stuck at 245, darn it. Got a toothache and am taking antibiotics and one of the effects is water retention. Still on program, and can get back to the treadmill today.

06-09-2011, 02:48 AM
Im bringing this thread back because i loved it so much ((but not too much)). I fell off the wagon in march and 3 months later (+8 pounds) later i am back in the 240's. Actually 249.0 to be exact...EEEK!!

Anyway! Are there anymore 240's out there?? Hopefully I am not all alone!!! Want to get back to where I was soon. A little hard work and dedication goes a long way....

06-09-2011, 03:11 AM
Never posted in this thread before but today I'm at 244.5. Hoping I won't be in the 240s for long. I also officially now have less than 100 lbs to lose until my goal!

06-10-2011, 01:01 AM
At this point I am 248.8. I am soooooo ready to get out of the 240s! I have bounced between 245 and 251 for so long now! Its time for a change:)

I'm getting very close to getting into the 240s so I wanted to say hello. My official WI day is Sunday and I may not quite make it by then, but I think I'll be here sometime next week.

So I am looking forward to getting in here officially and then getting back out again on the other side! lol!

Official weekly weigh in today put me at 243. I start my vacation tomorrow so I won't have a scale for the next two weeks. I'd love to lose while I'm gone but we'll see how it goes.

06-12-2011, 10:47 PM
247 at WI on Friday! Hoping to be out of the the 240s shortly into July (I don't expect to be there before July, just not too long into the month).

jennylou -

Aside from the big head start on the total loss you have (congrats on 65 lbs, that's awesome!!) we have very similar goals - my current goal is 235, but then my next goal after that will be 212, just like yours! (235 is my first 10% and 212 will be the second 10%)

Since you are a couple of lbs ahead of me, I looked forward to chasing after you to get to these goals! lol!

06-14-2011, 10:25 AM
Thanks April Snow!

06-15-2011, 12:15 AM
April - awesome! You are the same height as well. :) I always look for those that are my same height to see how they progressed downwards. Gives me hope for how I'll look.

06-16-2011, 12:27 PM
Hey all! I am coming into this group and don't plan to be here long. I am learning to hold myself accountable and posting on a regular basis will help me get there.

06-17-2011, 03:41 PM
snagged up around 245 :( I'll get there though. just a rough spot from the stress of moving. I'll keep you guys updated :)

06-18-2011, 07:38 PM
Down to 245 at my latest weigh in yesterday. Half way out of the 240s!

April Snow
06-18-2011, 09:29 PM

06-19-2011, 11:17 AM
weekly WI was down 2.2 to 247.4! Another couple of weeks until I break 245 and I'm closer to 230s than 250s, but getting there!

06-19-2011, 12:05 PM
i weighted myself this morning and i was 240 so hopefully tomorrow i will be out of it and into the 230s yayyyy!!!!

06-19-2011, 12:45 PM
I am down 2 lbs this week to 247. Congrats on the losses everyone!

06-20-2011, 11:09 AM

April Snow
06-21-2011, 11:33 AM
down a lb today, so 246.4. (I won't change my ticker until Sunday though) Looking forward to breaking 245 and getting closer to the 230s!

06-22-2011, 10:35 AM
good job April Snow!

Weighed 245.6 this morning, but I think a 2 pound loss in 1 day is a fluke, but it's a goal to get there "for good".

06-22-2011, 06:12 PM
i keep flipping back and forth between 240-245. It's time for me to be honest about all the goodies I've been sneaking into my diet and start getting serious again!

06-23-2011, 10:27 AM
245.6 again today. You can do it Kaonashi!

06-23-2011, 04:15 PM
I need out of the 240's too :D

248.4 this morning

April Snow
06-23-2011, 11:56 PM
I was 246 even yesterday, for a total of exactly 15 lbs on my 1 month anniversary. I'd LOVE to be 245 or below for my WI, so I'm halfway through the 240s, so fingers crossed for that!

April Snow
06-24-2011, 09:20 AM
turns out I was wrong about wanting to be below 245 by Sunday because I had a whoosh last night and blew through it all the way down to 244.4!!!

woohoo - closer to 230s than to the 250s!!!

06-25-2011, 12:17 PM
Way to go April!

I forgot to WI yesterday, now I don't know whether to WI today and keep my Friday WI and only have six days for this "week" or just move it to Saturday or just wait until next Friday.

Thanks JennyLou. I was holding steady today, which is fine, I'm just glad it was not a one day fluke!

If I were you, I would WI today and just have a short week this coming week, instead of waiting all the way until Friday. But I am a not-quite-every-day weigher so I know I wouldn't want to have to wait that long! lol!

06-25-2011, 09:13 PM
247.4 :)

I had an amazing 3.4 lb loss for the week (at least for me, it's amazing, I've never been a fast loser before!). Not really sure how that happened, I'm just hanging in doing my same plan, but of course I'll take it!!

So down to 244, and eagerly looking forward to the 230s no that I'm definitely on the downward slope heading there!

06-27-2011, 08:19 AM
Scale is moving - 246.6 :)

I am jealous. My body would rather be a cranky difficult annoyance than give me a great weekly loss like that. :D

06-28-2011, 08:52 AM
247.0 - up a little from soy sauce ;)

06-28-2011, 01:12 PM
Boy, I think this the hardest 10 lbs for me. It seems like I want to glide along after the first 30 lbs lost. I have to buckle down.

Down 2 lbs, but it seems like it is taking forever.

April Snow
07-01-2011, 11:12 AM
241.4 this morning. So probably I won't get into the 230s by my official WI/ticker changing day on Sunday, but getting so close! If I get there midweek, I'll have to allow myself a special ticker change for it! lol!

07-01-2011, 08:45 PM
245.4 :)

07-03-2011, 12:23 AM

Congrats April Snow and Somni on the awesome losses!

I am down 2 lbs this week to 244. I am losing one to two lbs a week at this point, but I'll take it. Hopefully as the weather gets a bit cooler I will be able to up my exercise some to make up the difference.

07-07-2011, 10:34 AM

my normal WI day is Sunday but I am going to do a sneak peek tomorrow and see if I am out of the 240s yet. I can't contain the curiosity until Sunday! lol!

my normal WI day is Sunday but I am going to do a sneak peek tomorrow and see if I am out of the 240s yet. I can't contain the curiosity until Sunday! lol!

My normal weigh in day is Sunday too, but I am being good about sneaking peeks because otherwise I will spend all day every day hopping on and off the scale. :D I get obsessed sometimes, and then I get cranky if I don't show a loss or if I show a gain. I am not a disciplined weigher-inner at all.

April Snow
07-07-2011, 10:32 PM
I'm not a daily weigher, but I also don't want to turn NOT weighing into a bigger deal than it should be. So what I've been doing is using one day as my "official" WI day and then on other days, if I'm curious, I get on the scale, and if not, I don't feel pressured to, the way I would if I was weighing every single day.

So far, it's been working ok - I probably weigh 3-4 days a week, but not every single day and that seems to be enough to keep me from obsessing about weighing too often or not often enough.

April Snow
07-08-2011, 09:25 AM

I never updated, but I didn't WI for like 10 days and had a huge whoosh! Went down to 235 and then the last week dropped another two for 233.

I am down 1 lb this week for a total of 67 lbs lost since December. I am at 243, so I should be out of the 240's by the end of the month like I planned.

Congrats on the great losses April Snow and Somni!

Contrats to everyone for getting out of here. I am so stuck. I hate the 240's I feel like I am in a limbo.

I went back up 2.6 lbs to 247.6. This heat and humidity have made me so lazy. I can'g manage to get any exercise in. And I just want to munch on food in front of the tv.

07-12-2011, 10:04 AM
Hi Cathi888. There are still some of us hanging out with you in this thread. Everyone loses at their own pace, and I have found that if I compare my loss to others, I will only be setting myself up for failure.

I find on the days that it is too hot to truly exercise, I put a pedometer on and track how much I am moving around. That at least makes me feel like I have a handle on things. 2000 steps is a mile. You can add a few steps to each thing you do and before you know it you will have walked a mile.

07-12-2011, 10:16 AM

Seems like everyone has weight "decades" that are more slow and challenging than others. The 260s really seemed to drag on for me and I know I'll have others. But just sticking with it, trying to work on things you can improve, and you'll get through it.

Can you try to schedule workouts a little earlier or later in the day so the weather isn't as bad? I find taking a cool shower right before working out if it's hot also helps prevent me getting overheated.

And if you just can't do the exercise right now, focus on the eating. That's the most important part anyway. How about setting a goal or two this week for that? Like having healthy snacks ready to be grabbed at any time, fresh fruits/vegs all cleaned and cut up as possible? Or trying a new healthy meal this week that won't involve the oven getting your kitchen all hot, etc? :) I find very specific goals like "a different healthy breakfast every day this week" more motivating than just setting a goal to be on plan.

07-13-2011, 08:03 AM

Hello Everyone,
I have decided to join in the 240 group as I have been 249 for last two days. Last year in Nov. or Dec. I got down to my lowest of 243 and I really want to see that number again. That is a 40# drop from origional weight. Although I've been struggling with the 250's since Jan. I'm not really counting the pounds lost as anything great since I had already lost them last year. So once I reach that 243, I'm really going to be excited when each pound drops. I'd love to say I lost 50# that just sounds like a lot. Of course I'd like to say I lost 83# and am now 200, But that's ways off. Anyway, I'm here now and hope to pass right through. :)
Have a happy and healthy day.

07-14-2011, 03:32 PM
