Question Any advice, suggestions for exercises to tone / life the butt?

I'm looking for advice to tone and lift my butt. My rear is one scary sight! Its looks like my butt dropped into the back of my upper thighs, if you can picture that.
Are squats and lunges enough?
I walk / jog about 30-50 mins about 4 times a week. I know spot reduction doesn't work, but I do want to tone my butt as I lose weight.

Any advice?

* The title should say "lift, not life!

Stairmaster does work. once upon a time...I did use it and it did a pretty good job with toning and lifting. Good luck :0

Squats and lunges are your friend. And run/walk/jog up hills!

I like hamstring bridges for lifting the butt.
Lie on your back with knees bent and feet on the floor.
Lift your butt up and hold. I go for time (1 minute each for 3 reps) and then finish with a set of 20 reps up and down.
Much easier on the knees than squats and lunges.

Step ups work too.
