Over the holidays, I thought I'd made it out of the 220s... in the wrong direction, LOL! Turned out to be water weight and I'm still in the 220s and thankful for it, since at one point during the holidays, I saw 235!

Getting back on track and working on leaving the 220s, hopefully in the next two or three months.

I've been trying to get back on track since the 1st. I haven't had any fast food or anything too bad, but I'm having portion control problems and I'm snacking a lot. I did better today than I have in a while though, so I'm feeling pretty good about that. Maybe I can do this!

Beth you can absolutely do this! Hang in there making good choices and the scale will catch up.

I FINALLY broke through my 2 week stall and am down 1 pound today. Who knew one little pound could make you so happy? :carrot:

I weighed in today and I'm a bit disappointed that I only lost .7 after a pretty good week on plan. I'm not giving up though because losing slowly is still a lot better than gaining!

I'm right there with you. It is crazy slow for me this week and I even downed my caloric intake and upped the excercise. Not sure what is going on but hey I've been fat this long... I can wait a little longer to see some improvement from these awesome changes I am making.

can i join??? i only lost one pound this week because i had 2 parties this weekend. parties are so hard for me to stay on track! i'm glad at least i didn't smoke a cigarette. next party, which is in 2 weeks i'm definitely going to stay on track even if i have to bring my own dinner. the food really wasn't worth all the extra calories.

I'm doing well so far this week. I'm meeting my calorie and exercise goals. I've been weighing in the mornings and not really seeing progress there, which is soooo frustrating! I feel better though. I spent most of 2010 feeling pretty sluggish and I was sick of that. I already have a lot more energy and I'm generally in a better mood, that alone is worth the effort!

Struggling here. No loss last week, I just ate too much, i.e. minimal deficit. I did lose a quarter inch from my waistline though. This week has gone a bit better, but my appetite is raging. I'm doing my best to stay busy and ignore it, as I know I've eaten plenty of calories today.

As for me im up a little 227.2 but I did great this week the only issue was last night I ate dinner late and although i stayed within my cal range eating late is never good. Im hoping to see a woosh sometime this weekend or early next week i love you gals but im so ready to leave the 220s:)

I miss my soda. I gave up the regular stuff in 2007, but then drank a ton of Coke Zero. Honestly, I didn't even know it was bad and still don't totally understand why it is. I'm improving though; I went through about two twelve packs in December, but I've only had 2 cans since the the new year... I've been drinking water with lemon instead. I still have some soda in the house, and I will have it occasionally, but for now I'm not even keeping any cold. I'm not just cutting down because of my diet, but I also have teeth that easily decay and the dentist said I shouldn't be drinking much soda because of the acid. Sooo hard, lol.

I am having a go at intermittent fasting and I must say i'm really finding it to be a good fit for me. I wish I could make 6 small meals work for me but it just leaves me constantly hungry and unsatisfied and always thinking about food.

I had a bit of an obstacle tonight... I work in a small store in a small town and we have a lot of regular customers. Well, out of the blue, one brought my co-worker and me a pizza. And candy bars. Oh my! He has no way of knowing I'm on a diet, and ironically, he also didn't know that was my favorite kind of pizza from my favorite pizza place. I thought it was going to be a real struggle, but I just asked myself, "Self, what do you want more? That pizza or to lose weight?" And I realized that no matter how good the pizza smelled in that moment, I have dreams and goals that far exceed my desire for pizza. So I ate the healthy dinner I had packed for myself and, instead of weight, I gained pride! :)

Official weigh-in tomorrow and I don't think I have a loss coming my way, but I guess we'll see. I could still be retaining water from Friday's workout, but my scale is .8 up over last week's Monday weigh-in, sigh.

Frustrating, I've been MORE active and kept a better deficit going this week. But oh well, my pants keep feeling looser and my waist measurement from last week is holding good so I'll keep on going.

19DeltaWifey: I just wanted to say congratulations on the pregnancy!!! Losing weight so I can get pregnant again at a healthier weight is a major motivation of mine. Even if I only lose 30-40 lbs before getting pregnant again, I feel like I'll still be at a much better starting point.

I'm looking forward to keeping up with this thread and seeing everyone's successes!

222 this morning. My ultimate goal is 130lbs, but my first milestone is 175.
I laughed out loud when I saw that 222. I've been busting my butt all month. I told myself I would watch what I ate and I will exercise every day-even if it's just walking the dog around my subdivision or playing Just Dance with my daughter or riding bikes with her-SOME form of exercise every day. It's paying off......I hope I can keep this momentum going.
I can't WAIT to get out of the 220's!

I have been on a planned 2 week break from exercise but as it's nearing it's end i think I may keep not exercising until my weight loss stalls then it may be like a turbo boost lol *wishfull thinking*

I spent over 6 weeks at the same weight (within 1 lb) and so decided to try something new. I was on Weight Watchers and apparently their new plan wasn't working for me (that's when I started to stall), so I went to calorie counting just this last week and I'm moving in the right direction again. :D

Hope everyone is having a good week. We are having a very cold snap in London at the moment.

I went to the supermarket hungry today for the first time in ages, since it is a very bad practice. I wanted to eat eeeeverything lol. I managed to not buy anything off plan except some fruity herbal tea.
After I got home I wasn't even that hungry where as I felt ravenous in the store. Just goes to show...

I hope it keeps up; it's been very difficult since I haven't been able to exercise. I'm hoping I can get back on the exercise bandwagon after a doctors appointment to get me all healed up. :D

Oh my gosh I have been working so hard. Doing battle with my TOM, migraines, 1 hour workouts each day and less calories and I FINALLY LOST ONE MORE POUND this week. I was actually gaining the week before this one. On the same plan. I wasnt sure if it was TOM or what but now I know. So hard but thanks to 3FC I did not get discouraged!

I'm down to 227.6 today which is awesome. I am worried though, that I will regain some of this sudden loss (like 5 lbs in a week or so) after I manage to get all healed up. I've been in so much pain I can't really sleep and I'm queasy all day.

If half stays off, I think I'll be happy! :D

Hi everyone! I mostly stick around the Atkins forums but I think it'd be nice to chat with people who are around the same weight as me. I plateaued around the 240s for a while and then in the high 230s and then all of a sudden starting blowing through the low 230s. Hopefully the 220s are this easy!

OMG it is hard. It is only 20 minutes but it is a lot of work with no breaks. 3 cycles with 3 min strength, 2 min cardio, and 1 min abs. I did it today without weights (I don't have any) but a friend of mine is dropping off her 10 lb weights so I will use those tomorrow (so it will be even worse!).

besides the video, what other equipment do you need? basic weights or anything else? Thanks!

Just a mat (I have wood floors) and basic weights, I'd say in the 5-10 lb range unless you're really strong and fit. I did it today without any weights and it was still a good workout.

I'm still hanging out at 239. No big surprise, considering the way I've been eating. I do perfectly until the kids go to bed and then I just want to eat, eat, eat! It's like an evening relaxation thing. I think I'm going to try to go for 3 days (to start) not eating after the kids are in bed (7:30) and see what that does.

I did play volleyball twice this week, and my hamstrings are feeling it. Woohoo, that means I was actually moving to get the ball! :D

We got over a foot of snow and wow did I get a workout shoveling it!! According to TheDailyPlate.com, I burnt over 1,000 calories.

I am doing pretty well this week. I am on track to be at an all-time low weight on Sunday which is super exciting!

Thats great, justsharing83....the workout that is, not the snow! I live near Chicago, we were hit with a blizzard a few days ago, got 20 inches of snow. Looks like i should have shoveled! ;)

Spooky, great job! Your muscles need water to repair themselves. So yes, you can retain water, but just know it will come off, keep drinking! :) I work out 5 nights a week at the gym, looking to start Shred. My daughter borrowed it, just waiting to get it back.

Hey ladies! I'm at 231.4 now...so close to the 220's. I caught some horrible bug though-102 fever and a sore throat from god knows where! I still have been managing to get at least 30 minutes of cardio and very little weights in, because normally this is when i would say "oh you are sick, its ok to cheat poor baby poor baby" and it would all go down from here, not this time! next time i talk to you all i will be in the 220's!!!!

livb528, congrats! Our bodies work in mysterious ways sometimes. Hopefully it doesn't have a late reaction. ;) Drink lots of water. Chinese food is VERY high in sodium. LOL Pre-pregnancy weight is a great motivator.

...I guess I'm struggling to believe that the 2-teens are in my near future as well. That's a whole new world, one I haven't been in since elementary school. Plus, I've been stuck in the 220's for almost a year. It just feels weird to even think about it.

Congrats to everyone on their recent losses!

I had maintained 227-229 for about a week but today I finally showed a loss on the scale since my surgery last Monday. I weighed in at 225.8 and I'll take it considering I still have a nasty incision in an uncomfortable place - makes exercise pretty much impossible unless you're into the whole pain thing.

Hoping more water today will help my downward trend. Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone! :D

Had a binge day yesterday so I skipped the weigh in today :( Really disappointed in myself. Should've planned my meals better and not gone shopping while hungry. Oh well, trying to just move on and keep focusing on my goals. What sucks is that I am going on vacation at the end of the month and I was hoping to be 220... That is not going to happen. Even if I could lose 2-3 lbs I would feel happier instead of being stuck at 228/229.

I went on a 3 day food bender last weekend, it was complete insanity and huge calories. On Monday I was up 5 lbs! But, I got back on plan and saw a new low of 237.8 this morning, woohoo!
I am throwing my DH a graduation party and my birthday party on the same day this coming weekend. I'm having pizza for my birthday dinner (mostly because I didn't want to cook for 30+ people) and I'm going to have cake. BUT, I will eat moderate portions of both, enjoying the company first and foremost. :)

Ugh. I was in bed with an explosive blood pressure headache and miserable for 2 weeks. Then I was ashamed for 1 week. I'm so glad that happened! I am now on my blood pressure medication again and I feel great. Been walking more per day with more energy and no headaches. I gained some during that time but lost it again and also lost an extra two putting me at 16 lbs lost. YAYYYY!!! Then when I finally got the courage to come on 3FC and confess my computer crapped out on me. Now I am borrowing someones laptop for 5 minutes to post this message because OMG life happened but I miss you 3FC!

I did ok at my parties this weekend, but not great. I ate pizza and cake in fairly sensible portions (probably 1 piece too many of pizza), but I didn't count on my dad breaking out the $200 tequila for my birthday. I LOVE tequila, and I don't drink very often, especially tequila of that caliber. But, 3 shots and a beer later... I had a good time and I'm back on plan today. :)

Can I join? I've been bouncing between 238 and 242 the last couple of weeks. The most annoying thing about it is that it's my own fault! I have not been able to make myself eat properly lately. I keep telling myself, "it's just one meal, it's fine." And it probably would be fine if it truly was only one meal; the problem is that I say it at almost every meal!

On the bright side I did weigh 237 this morning, although I didn't really deserve it. I want to be determined to keep that number, and right this minute I am determined, but come lunch time... and dinner time...

Any suggestions you have for my non-compliant inner psyche would be much appreciated.

On another note, it's wonderful to see so many of you with successes! I am sure this thread will be very inspiring to me. :)

It's so nice to find people in the same place. I feel like it's a plateau and then a few pounds loss, and back to plateau. The next 20-30 pounds are going to be tough, but so worth it!

This morning, the scale was 228.6. Hoping to hold on to that loss this time!

Lisa - My weight-loss dr. asked me (jokingly) to have sex with him the other day, and I said No!, and he asked me why it was so easy for me to say no to him, but not to other inappropriate choices..like at mealtime. Good point -- both are bad decisions, but obviously things like chips and chocolate are more tempting to me than sex..lol. Anyway, his advise boils down to recognizing bad choices and just saying no. To help me on my way he's put me back on strict rules, almost no carbs for 2 weeks, mostly lean protein and green veggies. Just thought I'd share that since I've also been stuck for a while, and this has got me moving again.

I had a tough week with a stressful and emotional situation and it kind of kept my mind occupied and off the forum, so that's why I haven't checked in lately.

I weighed in today at 218.3, down 2.2 - I did it!!

I just want to encourage everyone in the thread to not give up... I bounced from 226-232 for 9 months before getting back on track. Honestly, I don't know I ever really believed that I could get out of the 220's. Luckly, it is possible and, regardless of the cliche, believe me when I say if I can do it, anyone can.

This thread rocks, you gals are hard-working and so motivating! I can't wait until we're all in the teens to onederland thread together! Keep it up and congrats to everyone for their success so far! :)

I've been hanging out between 237 and 240 for a while. I'm not doing so well sticking within my calories these days, so I'm glad I'm maintaining. My two kiddos (2 years old and 5 months old) and I are all sick so we're hanging out, not doing much.

I've had a heck of a time losing any weight since my youngest turned about 3 months old. This is a phenomenon that I've heard is not uncommon in breastfeeding women, I just hope I can lose more before I'm done nursing.

Tuesday was a nightmare for me. We had a huge cake at work and it looked so yummy. Normally when we have anything like that out, I'll go back several times and enjoy my full share lol. I'm terrible like that. It doesn't matter how many good snacks I bring with me, I still want the darn cake!

This was no different. I salivated over the thing like crazy. I even ended up caving and having a really small piece, hoping that it would curb the craving. Uh no. It just made it worse. Geez. However, I managed to stay away and not go back and lick the icing like I wanted to. But I have to confess that I did obsess about it the entire day. I don't think I got a lot of work done because I was too busy fighting the cake demon in my head.

But - I WON! And today I was repaid for those efforts by seeing 226 on the scale for the first time in at least a year. So, I am psyched and almost out of the 220's!

Tomorrow is my offical weigh in day. *fingers crossed*

Keep going everyone. Your numbers are looking great!

This morning I weighed in at 223. I'm so excited to be just three pounds away from the 2teens. The lowest weight I can remember for myself was 219 after my first son was born - I got colitis and spend three weeks not being able to keep food in me. :mad: Not exactly a healthy weightloss for sure!

Hopefully the three pounds will come off quickly as I just joined a gym this week. I'm going for my first workout tonight. :carrot:

My official weigh in was yesterday. I wanted to cry. After a great week, the scale failed me on D-day. I was up to 228.4, with a total official weight loss of only .4 for the whole week. *sigh* I know a loss is a loss, but geez. I was 226 the day before.

I wanted to stuff my face so badly yesterday out of frustration, but I didn't. This morning it paid off, I was back down to 227.8.

I know I'm having some water weight issues. I woke up Friday morning and felt like a bloated whale so that's certainly playing a part, but it was still tough to see.

Today I was extra good. I don't want to let myself get off track!

I know if I can stick it out, the weight will come off and the numbers will show it, so I'll be ok. *wah*

My scale showed 221.6 this morning. I'm trying not to get too excited about it because I just started going to the gym Sunday. We'll see how much water my body will want to hang on to.

On the flip side, going to the gym makes me more reluctant to go off plan as it negates my hardwork. So, we'll see if I can get in the 2teens by end of this week or next.

Ok, so I'm sick of seeing 227. Seriously. I'm over it.

I've been bouncing back and forth to 227 and some change for 2 weeks now. I know that's not a long time but for me it's discouraging.

It doesn't help that I am a raging hormone right now and in full blown PMS and all I want to do is eat, and I'm not talking the good stuff. lol

I want pizza and cheeseburgers, and fries, and a lot of onion rings, and add a big fat shake to that. Then I'll wash it down with some KFC.

I was up almost three pounds this morning from last Monday: 236.6. It wasn't a surprise. My eating last week was plain stupid. I kept trying to convince myself of better options, but at every meal my inner voice said, "oh well," and gave up the ghost.

Takeaways for this week:

PLAN. I will convince myself to eat anything if I don't have a plan.
DO NOT LET MYSELF GET HUNGRY. I will really convince myself to eat anything when I am hungry.

I tried on the couple 14/16 tops I bought at Lane Bryant last month and they fit perfectly now! Can't wait to wear them later in the week! Woohooo!

You girls are doing great! Keep it up! Soooooooooooon we'll all be out of these darn 220's.

My official weigh-in was today - 223.4. Down .6 from last week, but I got a new scale this week too. On my old scale I was 222.8, but I know it lies. :devil:

So anyway, not a huge loss but a loss all the same.

I did have some non-scale victories this week though. Woo hoo! I started out a 22/24 and when I went to try on clothes this week, 20's were getting big, 18's fit and I even tried on one pair of 18's that was almost too big! That made me feel great.

I was also a 3x top, but I'm pretty much a 1x now. Some are still a little tight, but most fit great. I've been bumming around in clothes I haven't been able to squeeze into in a couple of years and looking pretty good. Everything feels smaller, my rings are impossible to keep on and someone took a picture of my face and I LOOKED HUMAN! Good bye alien face fat! :)

I'm hoping to be out of 220's for good by the end of March. Also, this week, I'm going to start exercising so I can get some actual tone. Yay? haha

I forgot to mention...

This week I've been thinking about how crazy perspective is.

I remember 15 years ago, when 222 was my highest weight ever and I felt so gross and disgusting. I felt horrible. I didn't want to look at myself.

Now here I am, with an all time high of almost 270 and I've been dreaming about 222 like it was ice cream drenched in chocolate syrup.

And now that I'm here?

Damned if I don't feel skinny. I feel hot. I feel sexy. I feel like people should turn their heads and look at me. RAWR!

When I was 222 before, I wore big baggy clothes - I even wore men's clothes sometimes because I wanted to hide my rolls.

Now I'm squeezing into the smallest clothes I can (without being poured in lol) and I'm strutting my stuff. I want the world too see my fat and I don't care, because I know where I've been and I know where I'm going and let me tell you, compared to what I looked like 6 months ago, I AM HOT WENCHES! :)

And you know what else? I'm sure when I was 222 before people looked at me cross eyed because they new I had no self-esteem. Now I know people look at me in a different way just because my head is held high.

I've been stuck around 226-227 the past few days but my TOM is any day now so I'm not worried about it. :)

Bit off-topic but tomorrow I have an appointment with my doctor to see about birth control. Anyone know if that might slow weight loss?

Creeping along here... February didn't have a lot of loss, due to not having a lot of motivation or effort, frankly!

However, I am losing, not gaining, so even if slowly, I am working my way through the 220s. Now at 223.2! Starting to get excited about putting the 220s behind me again and hopefully forever.

222.2 today. Tom is officially over and I bought some weights and stuff yesterday. I'm hoping to start exercising tonight.

Yesterday we went out to eat and I did pretty good. I went over my calories by a few hundred but I didn't do major disaster. I also had a decent chunk of sodium so I'm sure a bunch of my number is water weight. I feel pretty good about my choices yesterday. I think being able to be in control when I go out to eat is a major victory, especially considering it had one of those all you can eat buffets! lol

Riesz, don't give up. The weight will come off. It has to.

Well, TOM started today... finally. My weight fell a couple pounds just from that, which I'm relieved to see. TOM can't be bad enough on its own, has to make my weight jump around so much I nearly have a nervous breakdown too! Hahaha, only kidding. Just gotta get through this. :) It'll be over soon then I hope for a decent woosh!

I plan to start birth control next Sunday. Hopefully it won't slow down my weight loss. :) Anyone have any experience with losing weight while on bc?

I weighed in at 221.8 today. I should have been in the two teen's today. I gained some weight earlier in the week and now I'm trying to get back to 221.
I weighed 221 on 3/11. I have a wedding to go to tomorrow. So I know my food choices won't be the greatest. But I still would like to get out of the 220's this month. Good Luck, Everyone!

I've spent the last month in the high 220's. I can't seem to make any progress. Just ordered an exercise DVD and am trying to add more water to my daily routine. Hoping this will be the push I need to get out of the 220's and start making progress again. It's been a tough month with work and my husband has been home rehabbing from a knee surgery. He's lost 9 lbs this month, and I've only lost about 2 lbs. Ready to get back on top of the weight loss! Good luck everyone and congrats to those who are leaving us for the 210's.

Well, between a stomach bug a week ago and catching hubby's cold/flu/winter crud bug this weekend, I'm moving forward towards getting out of the 220s for sure!

221.2 this morning for a two pound loss from last week! I feel like some must be water, but I'm hoping I can keep this weight and move below it next week.

TOM is over! YAY! Scale showed 223.6 this morning too. Woohoo! Birth control pills are killing my appetite but I'm still forcing every meal down. Got lab results back from my doctor and my thyroid levels are really, really high. :( I have to go back for more tests today. I hope everything is OK.

I was looking for a 230s-only thread, but it looks like you all are nested in here for the most part, lol. It's going to make it feel like a longer decade, but I suppose that will just make me want to work harder, right? ;)

I weighed in at 222.6 today after hitting a brief plateau around 224 the past couple days. The BCPs have killed my appetite so I was eating a bit more salt than I should in what little I was eating so I guess that was holding up my scale.

Hope everyone has a fun weekend! I'm gonna try to get in the kitchen and make something healthy, like a soup or big salad. I won't have an excuse to nuke frozen dinners if I have something homemade in the fridge. :D I gotta watch that salt!!

222 even today.

Just got a call from my doctor with results from blood tests I had last week and my thyroid levels are still too high. I'm being referred to a specialist to have more testing done. Trying hard not to feel discouraged but it's hard when I'm putting so much effort into losing weight and getting healthy but I have so many health problems for being just 25. :( I know I'm overreacting but the thyroid problems scare me because my mom had thyroid cancer and I'm so worried I can't stop crying. I just want to be healthy and live a long, enjoyable life.

Also, woke up feeling queasy again, I guess because of the birth control. No appetite again today and the worry over testing and doctors doesn't help a bit. :(

Sorry to be a downer today. Hope everyone has a good one!

I still feel like some of this is dehydration, though I drank a LOT of water yesterday in hopes of getting better hydrated after the flu. Still feel dry though, even after a gallon and a half of fluids.

hi i would like to join this thread....i have been looking around the site and i think this is where i belong lol....i am currently at 234.6 i was 235.8 2 days ago so my weight loss journey has begun. i am doing this with my daughter who is nearly 12 but she is to young to join....so i thought i would keep her sprits up by passing on good vibes from some nice ladies. she is 5'4 and weighed 146 a few days ago....we will be doing our weigh ins on fridays. she is finding it a lot harder than me as she used to eat alot of junk but not anymore we r both doing well so far. my goal is to get to 182 and see where it goes from there, her goal is 126 for now. my name is sam and her name is marley....hoping to make some friends and support buddies :)
