I just had to share that I went to MacDonalds for breakfast with my besty & my DD's - and I got CEREAL...... and a black coffee... I missed my BLT bagel & hashbrown ;) but I also felt pretty good to be strong enough to say no, and to order what I knew was a healthier choice.

Grocery shopping is next... THAT will be interesting... send lots of healthy food purchases my way ;)

Gabrielle, if you can defeat the Evil McClown, then simple grocery store foods don't stand a chance. Your cart won't dare turn down any of those salty/sweet/uh-uh-no-way aisles and the produce will be fighting to be the ones to end up in your cart.

Huh? McDonald's has cereal? Really? I can't believe I haven't seen two million commercials for it, like when they announced the fruit smoothies.

Oh i just wanted to add I'm in New Zealand ;) so we probalby have different options than you.. but as part of their breakfast menu there are 3 different cereals & milk you can have...

The grocery shop went great! Didn't even look at the potato chips - and went in with a list & didn't get anything that wasn't on the list....

Next time you're faced with Mickey D's, you could opt for the Egg McMuffin if cereal doesn't hit the spot. They're 300 calories, but super-filling thanks to all the protein. I make my own version at home all the time, though I swap out the ham for a thick slice of tomato. 300 calories of pure yum. :)

Major congratulations on sticking to the grocery list, too!

I'm not a fan of eggs, BUT it is another option.. who knows, maybe i'd like eggs if I tried them again after all these years ;)

Good job! Fast food breakfasts are addictive, so saying no is a lot harder than even normal breakfast fare.

Very good job! Me and my husband have a little saying around our house...
20 minutes after you have eaten- you barely remember what you have ate- only that the emptiness is gone. Congratulations on making a very wise choice in a very tempting situation. :coffee:
I wanted to ask you a quick question... I love love coffee! Have you always drank your coffee black or did you break away from cream and sugar?
I drink coffee with both lowfat cream and sugar (I measure carefully and add the calories) If I could only give up the sugar and cream- those calories could be spent on something more hearty...like food! Thank you for your post :D

I usually have coffee with 2 sugars & milk, but have decided to go back to black with no sugars (like I used to have), i'm probably only eliminating a few little calories, but I figure they aren't calories I NEED, kwim?
