MrsD - I am pretty sure you can use them all week, but at the end of the week, just like allowance points, you use 'em or lose 'em!
Kay - looking forward to the hair pics...you did it yourself, right?
Me: well tomorrow is back to full force. I bought enough healthy food to make it through my work day and I get paid tomorrow so the plan is to go grocery shopping tomorrow night. I'm trying out the Beck Diet Solution again (can't remember when I tried it, but it was working, just got bogged down in school). For those of you that don't know what it is, basically it's a cognitive therapy plan to use in conjunction with any sensible diet. I'll also be working full time from now on, so my goal is to walk on my lunch breaks (weather permitting, of course). I can eat at my desk while working, so I figure a 45-60 min walk five days a week will be good for me. I'm trying not to make huge expectations of myself so I don't burn out. I also started a blog...it is kind of a work in progress at this point. But the boyfriend says he thinks I'd be a good writer, so I'm giving that a shot.
Happy New Year! I feel like this one is going to be good! :carrot:

I will be getting in on this thread effective tomorrow, as I am joining weight watchers! I have done it before, but got pregnant, and they 'kicked' me out, lol. I am excited to be active in this thread, and look forward to sharing victories with all of you. Will post my official weigh in weight tomorrow!

jaimie - welcome! I haven't weighed in at WW since November...so Thursday will be my "official" weigh day (I love the leader in that meeting, and she only does Monday and Thursday meetings...Monday is too soon after weekends for me lol). Hope your holidays went well!

OK feeling good! I just opted for an apple over ice cream and berries. Yay!! I also picked up some new workout pants that are a bit too snug. Now I can be reminded of just how much I have to work when I put them on! lol
Anyway here is the hair pic. Sorry it's a terrible picture (cell phone) I don't know where my cameras are at the moment. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h219/Kayangelz/downsized_0102011341a.jpg
So it doesn't show up much here but the crown of my head is lighter than the ends, which I kind of expected since I need a hair cut and I plan on getting a hair cut this week if I can, but when I try to compare the ends to the roots they look the same! weird. I picked up a shade darker tonight. We will see how long it takes before I redo it. :)

Hey ladies- hope you all enjoyed your holidays.
I was on vacation from Christmas Even until...today. Hard to get back to work today...that's for sure.
I took a break from Weight Watchers too. I needed some time to just not have to count and think and whatever. So I'm expecting a 2-3lb gain this week (there was no meeting in my area last week for me to even go to). But that's okay. I'm back at it full force today.

I got really really sick last week - it was 2010's last ditch effort to make my life miserable - so I didn't really eat on plan or count or exercise. I was back to the gym yesterday and today, and I have my meals prepared for the rest of the week (school starts so I have to plan) and I'm feeling good about it.
I'll weigh tomorrow or Wednesday (whenever I remember). I'm expecting to still be up because of last week and PMS, but that's okay, it will come off :)

Kay, I think the hair looks nice! But pictures make it hard to tell!
I weighed in this morning at home. 177.6...and WW is usually higher, so I'm really kicking it into gear. so far, so good. I've got lots of work to do, so I'll be in and out all day! Happy Monday!

I went over my points a little yesterday, I am officially -10WP. I hopped on the scale today and it says my weight has stayed the same but my official WW WI day is on Thursday so I still have time. I'm expecting to lose about .5 pound. The one thing I'm not looking forward to is the meeting being crowded, it was so crowded last Thursday and I'm praying that it wont be this Thurs but you never know.
ade903
01-04-2011, 02:49 AM
19-wish I could shoot some points your way ;) I had a pretty bad headache so I went to sleep after work for about six hours...and after eating dinner I still have 11 points. Thanks, free fruits!
I feel happy to be back in control. I know weigh-in on Thursday isn't going to be pretty. But I'm okay with that. I screwed up, I'm taking responsibility and moving on. I went to the grocery store (I was holding off with the intention of cooking, who am I kidding? frozen dinners and low-sodium soups for me this week) and actually wrote the points on everything I bought. Darn, those frozen dinners seem to have gone way up in points! I know, I know, my apple, and pear were free, so I have to pay for it somewhere...have a lovely evening (though I bet most of you are asleep!).

WOO HOO. 167.2 WITH PMS. Which means I really didn't gain any weight over Christmas.
So pumped. So so so so so pumped.
Also, I don't know what I'd do without activity points. Although if I didn't work out this much I probably wouldn't be as hungry as I am. I try not to eat all of them, but sometimes I just can't help it. I had to have 6/10 of them yesterday, but that was after running and swimming so I'm cool with it.
How do you all handle your activity points?
ade903
01-04-2011, 10:25 AM
stella - I am pretty lazy. So it isn't often that I earn them. I did walk yesterday on my lunch, so I probably earned 2 or so. When I do earn them (rarely, though my goal is to start walking) I try to ignore them. But obviously if I'm starving, I'll eat. Don't know if that was helpful at all, but that's what I do.
I have awful heartburn and hickups this morning. Ugh.
And I was UP to 178.4 this morning...I'm certain it has to do with my late night eating last night. Oh well. I'm still positive!!
KayNicole
01-04-2011, 11:23 AM
Congrats Stella!
Ade- I so know what you mean with the heart burn! I don't eat past like 8 anymore. I also discovered I can't eat pizza after like 3 in the afternoon if I want to avoid heartburn that night! lol pizza is my stomachs arch nemesis. But I have it pretty under control now that I know my triggers and time limits.

Ade - if I don't exercise, I go slightly insane. Actually, more than slightly. This training stuff is kind of an excuse to keep me in the gym/outside and out of my insanity. It also helps me keep more focused with stuff.
Some of these look good but boy am I glad we have better options in some cases!!
ade903
01-04-2011, 12:58 PM
Stella - I know if I start exercising consistently I go insane if I skip it. It's the getting to that point that is hard. And then usually getting really sick makes me lose it again...
kay - I'm not sure what the deal with heartburn is...though I did have a meatball lean pocket around 1 am...so perhaps that was it. Thanks for that link to the old recipes. I would not be able to make it on that diet lol. Much more happy with the points!

1st meeting was last night. The WW scale is MEAN! It said 184.0, my scale at home said 178.8 this am. Weighing in clothes and at night did not do me well. I found it odd that at my weight I start out with the minimum of 29 points. I would think at my size it would have been higher, but I still ended the day yesterday with 6 points left over. And I ate a lot! Trying to incorporate a little more snack in today, so we will see. My 10% goal is 18. Hope to see that by mid March. Going to kickboxing tonight, woot woot.
ade903
01-04-2011, 01:30 PM
It is mean. I've found that I is as much as six pounds higher. That being said, I weigh in at home naked, in the AM, after going to the bathroom, and before eating. At WW I am clothed, it is in the PM after having eaten and drank lots of water. Just remember to wear the same-ish thing each week. Consistency helps!

So yesterday my priority was more shopping than eating, and I accidentally under ate my points. I was still able to run this morning (yay) but I hate doing that. I always feel like I'm gypping my body.
It was just by the time I got back from the mall and got ready for the morning it was 9:45. I HATE eating that late (usually affects my sleeping) but I had like 6 points left and that was too many, so I made breakfast for dinner and called it a night.
I'll do better today :)

I am just so tired!!
I have been doing BL Challenge on the Kinect every other day (40 minutes) and on the "off" days (except for Sat and Sun) I am doing the only other game we have, Kinect Adventures. The BL Challenge can be frustrating because I don't have any "tight" or "tightish" workout clothes so sometimes the sensor mistakes a sleeve or a pant leg for my body, grrrrr. And, I am still getting used to seeing that lumpy silhouette of myself on TV. My friend and husband say I should just do the work outs in a sports bra and these lyrica capris I have, but I am afraid someone will come to the door and look in while I am working out! AH!
I have been back on plan and tracking since right after Christmas. I am excited for WI today. I actually have a doctors appointment and I don't know if she's planning on weighing me, but I am going to ask for it. Then, I WI after work.
Dairy is killing me. That is what my appointment is for today. I eat 1 Tbsp on shredded cheese and I am done for the day--sooo sick! I thought it was lactose intolerance because I was when I was little and I couldn't tolerate more than 4 oz of milk a day. But then the dairy aid (Lactaid) pills weren't helping at all. It's REALLY hard going from normal eating of yogurt and milk and cheese, etc. to NO dairy. Especially cooking without ANY dairy! UGHHH. Cross your fingers that the doc will be able to help me!!
ade903
01-05-2011, 11:24 AM
Stella - I always feel accomplished if I have one or two points leftover (bad, I know!), but I never have six left over! I have that mindset at the end of the day that if I have a lot leftover I eat and eat and eat. But eating late isn't good (hence my weight being up yesterday morning).
MrsD - Kinect sounds fun. I'll have to look into it. I'm not sure it would work at my boyfriend's house, though (he's the one with the Xbox). Good luck at the doc appt! *thinking happy thoughts*
Not much new on my end. Still feeling good. Planning on another walk today at lunch. Happy Wednesday!

I mean, in theory, your metabolism runs 24 hours a day, so eating late really isn't "bad." Yes, you're weight is "up" in the morning, but that's just because you have more food in your system than if you ate at 5pm (because you haven't, um....gotten rid of it). I just don't sleep well if I eat so late, or I have really wacky dreams. There's also the whole, ugh, its 10 pm, I don't wanna cook/clean up, but this is why I have a dishwasher and a microwave. Yay for living in 2011 and not 1945.
MrsD - Hopefully things go well!!

So I just got back from lunch. Day three of walking was quite a success. I used the "My Tracks" app. It was free. And basically you hit "start recording" when you start walking (or running, biking, hiking, etc.) and "Stop" when you are done. Then you can send it to your Google MyMaps account (which anyone with Gmail has by default). It gives you average speed, moving time, elevation, etc. Pretty awesome, considering it is free. I'm way too excited about that! I did 2.3 miles, averaging 3.2 miles an hour. Pretty cool, huh? I'd post the actual map it produces...but that would give you all my actual location, lol, and though I trust you, there are creepers out there!
Also, has anyone tried the healthy choice Fresh Mixers? Tried my first one five minutes ago. If you are craving pasta, it really hits the spot (and is so easy). 8 points though. Not too bad if you pair it with zero point fruits and veggies. :)
KayNicole
01-05-2011, 04:48 PM
Ade- I almost picked up a healthy choice fresh mixer last night at the store but I was worried it wouldn't be good (even though it said great taste). lol Glad to hear it because one of them looked really good.
Your app sounds pretty sweet. I wish I had a smart phone of some kind. I am just cheap and can't bring myself to pay for it... or it's service. lol

01-05-2011, 05:01 PM
I got the ziti and meat sauce one. I really like it. In my desk drawer I have Creamy Tomato Basil Penne and Steak Portobello. I'll let you know what I think of those as I try them. :)
I finally caved over the summer and got a smart phone. it was mostly because I wanted to weight-loss apps. Now I can't imagine NOT having it. But yeah, it is expensive (especially going from a $10 add-on to my parent's plan to my own plan...eek).
KayNicole
01-05-2011, 06:09 PM
That is exactly my issue. Apparently you can't have the smart phones on family plans (?) so it looks like we would both (husband and I) have to have individual plans and after 10 years of shared plans... yeah that bill just sounds way too painful. LOL Honestly though. These 30 extra lbs are more painful. :/
ade903
01-05-2011, 06:16 PM
You can have the smart phones on family plans, but the data usage is individual. So the minutes/texts would be the same and it would be like 30 bucks EACH to add on data. So yeah. It sucks.

Hi girls.....I'm actually starting WW tomorrow after school with the "WW At Work" program. I have never done WW before and I am really excited to start it up. I have heard really good things about the new program and I am ready to get back into the weight loss game full in.
I was doing really well until this past fall. I had lost close to 60 pounds counting calories and hitting up the gym, but I've been slacking some lately. I'm hoping that the new program is exactly what I need to boost my weight loss efforts back into the good side again!
But of course, TOM decided to show up tonight. So, tomorrow's weigh in will be "fun" ;)

Thanks for the info Ade! I will have to actually go into a store and talk to them. Online it keeps telling me I can't select the smartphones with the family plan.... OH! I bet it's just that I have a really good old plan that is no longer available and that is how they get people like me to get onto new plans. What buggers!

Hey there! I havn't posted in a while but I've been around and sticking with my online tracking, though I still havn't found a good scale and/or gone to a meeting to weigh in :/ at least I'm tracking, I say!
Ade- I love the sound of that app! I just went for a long walk the other day and it would have been great to know just how far I went. I am def going to check it out :)
Ade and Kay-also! If you guys havn't tried the house shirataki (sp??) noodles you really should--great traditional pasta alternative. I think a bag is two servings but I also think it's only a point per bag. You can find them in the cold section of whole foods wherever there is tofu.
Mrs.D- I hope your weigh in/ apptmnts were great and I'm sorry to hear about your dairy situation--that is tough because dairy is def in a lot of products/recipes. I'm pretty veg and chose to stop eating dairy about 4 years ago but still miss it and have found some pretty stellar alternatives: tofutti has a lot of good alternatives, including a tasty cream chs, sour cream, and American-like slices, daiya are great cheesey shreds, perfect for pizza, and so delicious has coconut milk yogurt and ice creams. Another weird but useful idea is picking up some nutritional yeast--it sounds unappealing but is what I use instead of parm and is a great substitue in lots of recipes. Let me know if any of that is useful :)
Stella- I saw your post about having points left over. I often have quite a few at the end of the day, in my mind a clever buffer for stuff I may have missed. Do you think it slows your progress? I'm wondering if my buffer may be backfiring...
Happy new year everyone!!

I've been on plan for three days now. And today is WI. It's not gonna be pretty. But I've been walking every day and feel good about it. It's so nice not having school to worry about. It is so much easier to plan meals and set aside time for me. I really don't have any excuses at this point. If I fail now, it's all on me (it was before, but now I can't say "Oh but finals blah blah blah"). Well, I'm still trying to catch up with work. Happy Thursday! We've almost made it to the weekend!

Doctor wants me to try probiotics from GNC to try to support the enzymes needed to digest lactose. I am going to look today when I am in town.
The doctor's scale says I've lost 12 pounds since starting WW in November. WI yesterday night at WW and their scales say 11.8 since starting. Either way, I have lost my first 5%! My next goal is the next 5% and then I will only be a little over 2 pounds away from under 200!!
My big goal right now is to be under 200 by February 19th, which is hubby's birthday. Which means I have 6 complete weeks plus a few days to lose just under 12 pounds. I lost just under 12 pounds from November 17th-January 5th, which was 7 weeks. AND Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years was thrown in there. I know I can do it!!
Ladies, I need ideas for rewards that are NOT food related! I saw this super cute dress that I'd like when I get to my ultimate goal, but then where do I go in that dress?! I immediately said to hubby (w/out thinking it out) I want that dress and to go out to eat somewhere special for reward for reaching lifetime. Seriously?! OUT TO EAT??!! For my 5% goal I got a few new pieces of clothing, 2 pairs of pants and 2 shirts but only $10 of that was my money, the rest was gift cards. I really want a new pair of shoes too...wondering if I should get it for my 5% goal or wait until I reach 10%? ETA: I just checked out the prices/deals. When I reach 10% I will get a pair of Danskos! I have been wanting them FOREVER!
I have other little rewards planned that aren't food related....I just don't know what to do for reaching lifetime....I guess I have time to think about it, right?!

Here's hoping nothing catches up with me next week. I need to get super strict on tracking
KayNicole
01-06-2011, 12:28 PM
Great job MrsD! I decided that my rewards would be either memorable experiences or something I have always wanted to do. I don't think it is terrible to go out to eat as a reward but it totally depends on how you see it. I would find a healthy place... although this might seem easier to me out here in CA with vegan, vegetarian and glucose free eating establishments! LOL Or at least find a place that has yummy low cal options and stick to those. But I know what you mean. It kind of seems like an alcoholic going out for a drink to celebrate being sober. LOL
KayNicole

congrats Mel! Everyone seems be off to a great start for 2011!
ade903
01-06-2011, 12:30 PM
MrsD - I know exactly what you mean. Part of what got me this way was eating out to celebrate (and mope, boredom, etc.). It's difficult to move away from our default celebrations. Perhaps you can get that dress and go see a show or something you can where that dress that doesn't involve food (I love musicals and plays, and I love dressing up!). Maybe brainstorm a list of things you want but wouldn't typically buy. Choose a couple of them that you know you won't let yourself get unless you earn them!
I know when I first started I planned to put away $20 for every pound I lost and then have over $600 at the end to blow on clothes. It seemed attainable, but now that I want to move out in the summer, it just isn't going to happen...
hmm...I need to remake my list of mini goals. And stick to them this time!

Well ladies, drum roll please...
Last WI was 171.0 (morning, no food yet, Nov 29th).
Today: 179.6. That's 8.6 lb gain. Oops. A little overboard? Yeah. Part of me feels like a fool because I joined on July 1st, and I'm only down 4.8 lbs.
But then the honest part of me knows that I have been 100% on track for a single week (when I was losing consistently, my weekdays were good but my weekends were not). And since December 1st I haven't even tried a little bit. And I went into this meeting knowing it, so it isn't like I'm heartbroken. Disappointed in myself? Definitely.
My leader shared her story tonight. It's the first time I heard the extended version. She lost 35 lbs in 2004 and has kept it off since. She talked about how she tried all of the fad diets and stuff. Completely someone I can relate to. And we have a new receptionist who lost 109 lbs in just about a year. And has kept it off for three years. It's pretty inspirational. And at the end of the meeting, my leader's "Final Thought" was a list of holidays for the year with how much you'd lose if you lost one pound a week. That was pretty cool to think that I can lose 20 lbs before my graduation ceremony just by losing one pound a week. That seems do-able.
Hope everyone's week is going well. Happy almost Friday!

I have to agree--love damnyouautocorrect! And I really like peopleofwalmart, or whatever it is! I think of that site every time I go into Wal-Mart and see something CRAZY!!
I have to commend the person who mentioned Better N Peanut Butter!! I did some research on it, searched and searched and searched for samples because I was put off a bit by the price. Then, I read that it was Hungry Girl approved and I was like, really, would she steer me wrong?! So I got some of the low sodium variety (blue label). It was on sale for 50 cents cheaper. I have some with celery last night and I LOVE it! I need to check the ingredients on the Chocolate one because I think I want to try that too!!
We ate dinner at friends and it was soooo nice to not have to cook and still have healthy food! I did have lemonade with dinner because I didn't want to be rude and ask for water instead, but then I checked points on lemonade when I got home and I was astonished! 3 pts per cup! AHCK!
Congrats to those who lost weight! Good luck this week, Ade! You can do it!!
KayNicole--totally wish we had more choices for restaurants. It's mostly chains around here! And when it's not, it's a diner, which is no good!
KayNicole

Ade- Congrats on noting going back to square one! While you may have had a set back and you may have expected to lose more by now... you have lost. You have maintained at least a 4lb loss since July! Come on girl, you are doing good. We all have our set backs. Like you said, you have been on plan for a week now and you are already doing what you need to be doing. Even with that said I am sure you still feel disappointed but that is one of the best motivators.
MrsD- now I will really have to find it. I know my co-op will have it. They have everything. I saw those vitatops some of you ladies mentioned awhile back for the first time the other day. I held back though since I knew I would probably eat at least 3 of them at once.
It's funny you mention the water thing. Since about age 5 I have been a water drinker. I rarely would have something else. Juices were too sugary and I NEVER had soda (or pop in my former tongue). I mean I could count the times I have had soda to drink, besides in mixed drinks. I have never felt rude asking for water over what everyone else was having. Now I wonder if people thought I was rude. LOL I think if anything they will just think you are weird for wanting plain old water over yummy beverages.

Ade - that's a great attitude to have! And you know what, even if you don't lose 1lb a week - say you lose 0.5 or you maintain - its STILL NOT A GAIN. I used to get discouraged when people were losing 3 lbs a week and I was going down 0.2, but then I realized I just can't compare myself to people. I lose weight slowly, and its frustrating, but I consider it a success that in ~2 years I've lost 57 lbs and I haven't gained any of it back. Just remember, as long as you're not gaining, you're winning :)
MrsD - see, I love my peanut butter. I bought a jar of the Better N Peanut butter and threw it out after tasting it once. It just was not for me. Granted, I can't keep real peanut butter in my house because I will eat it out of the jar, but its a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
No working out this morning - sleep was more important as TOM is still kicking my butt and I have a girls night tonight :) WOOO HOOOO. Since I got to work on time (kudos to me) I'm planning on running for an hour later and that will give me a nice buffer for some alcoholic fun later. Yaaaay vodka :)

I was really skeptical because I didn't want to pay almost $6 for a 16 oz jar and not like it. That would have SUCKED! It definitely isn't BETTER than PB, but it is nice. In my opinion, it's a good substitute! And, it's the lowest point PB I could find, no matter the price. 1 pts+ for 1 Tbsp!
Yaaaay vodka :)
My husband makes fun of me because I went from not being a drinker, to really being in Wine (about 2X a week, not HEAVY into wine) to not having anything, to being into light beer! At first, I just didn't want to try to have just 1 glass of wine while on WW. Then the pointsplus came out and 4 oz of wine is now 4 pts+! I can have 12 oz of Bud Light Lime, or 12 Oz of Corona Light for 2 pts+!!

See, the first time I did WW I focused so heavily on "lower point food" - this time I'm not so concerned with the points as the satisfaction value. I'd load up on low point foods and still be hungry or just not be happy with what I just ate. I love food, so enjoying it is a big part of eating.
Someone was talking about the Health Choice Fresh Mixers - they're 8 points so "high." But you know what, they're filling and they actually taste good! And pasta is great fuel if I'm going to work out at the end of the day. So I'm not so worried about the fact that peanut butter is high in points, because it fills me up, I enjoy it, and its a great recovery food after exercise.
I also try to shy away from heavily processed stuff (its why Hungry Girl and I don't get along) so I'd rather have a bit of the natural peanut butter every so often than the processed stuff more. But this is just what I've found works for me, and I think everyone's different.
I didn't drink until I was 21. I still hate beer, and wine is one of my favorite things ever (but I don't really consider it alcoholic - more of something that goes well with food) - but vodka, oh, how I love it.

Happy Friday!
stella - you have a great attitude about weight loss. Very similar to my mom's. She's been on WW for about three years and has lost about 45 lbs I think. She's done it before, but always gained it back. She's been at lifetime now for over a year (I think). She is very into the slow weight loss. I guess I need to just stop thinking too far into the future. I was thinking about that this morning regarding smoking. I was like "How am I gonna get through this weekend without a cigarette, and then next weekend how am I gonna get through a weekend in Vegas without a pack, etc." and then I just stopped myself and thought "Hey, I don't need to think about next weekend. I need to think about here and now. I need to drive to work without stopping to buy a pack." Small steps. Makes sense.
Thanks for the support, ladies.
Well, I've been completely on plan since Monday. Yay me. And the weekend is within reach. I think I need to plan some planned treats. Or it'll be another weekend where I just eat the world and then don't track. It's hard because my boyfriend and I typically play video games and munch all weekend. As much as I love apples and bananas and oranges and broccoli and tomatoes, I'm not at a point where that's what I crave when I feel the munchies come on. Oh well, it's a work in progress. I'm gonna hit the store and buy some "healthy" munchies and see what happens.
stellarosa27
01-07-2011, 11:31 AM
Ade - exactly. Small steps.
I hesitate to say "one meal at a time" because you have to plan (or I have to plan) but it really is just that. If you screw up at breakfast, fine, okay, then be better at lunch. Baby steps.
As far as healthy munchies go...soy crisps and pop chips are kind of awesome. They're salty enough to pass for chips...
Also, really, if you haven't gotten into it - hummus is so friggin amazing its hard for me to not curse as I discuss how much I love it. Its so rich and flavorful (my favorite is the roasted red pepper) and if you get chopped up veggies its so heavenly. I've found that if something has crunch and flavor, I don't miss the junk food aspect of it. Just be careful, because its high in fat - but good fat.

I LOVE hummus! Absolutely love it. I don't like it as much with veggies, I much prefer wheat thins, but my problem is I lack in self control. It might be on my list of "Can't keep in the house" foods. You know what's really good? Hummus as a spread. On anything. Veggie Burgers especially. YUM!
KayNicole

I second the soy crisps! Anybody tried yogi chips? Someone offered me a couple and they were pretty good but I don't really know much about them besides they are gluten free and pretty much yucca chips.
Anyway I am doing pretty well this week. I had a conversation with my husband about portion sizes that went pretty well. I told him that I went to a friends house for dinner and her portion sizes were tiny (she is also tiny). And before I even got there he says "it's probably closer to the actual portion size you should have". Exactly my point! The amount of food we used to buy is how much food we will be buying when we have kids to feed too! He agreed and we talked a little about the food habits we would like to instill in our children. What a great conversation, especially since my husband is one of those who shys away from any conversations about children! LOL

Anybody have any fun weekend plans? I will be continuing to unpack over the weekend and then I have to pack for my Disney trip. Lots to do before I leave. I wish I had given myself more time to settle in before this trip though. lol
ade903
01-07-2011, 06:30 PM
No plans here. Sleep. And play video games. Good news, though. I went to the grocery store during lunch (instead of my walk...oops) and got loads of fruit and some "fun" breakfasts for the weekend. I'm so over my oatmeal. I can deal with it at work because there isn't much choice at 7am, but over the weekend, I know if I'm not prepared with some I WANT, I'll eat crap. So I'm feeling positive about staying on plan. Also, the bf needs to lost 8 lbs by the end of the month, so he'll be eating his own stuff and won't go out to eat, so no (hopefully) temptations there.
Disneyland or World (or cruise, I guess)? I totally live 15 minutes from Disneyland.
KayNicole
01-07-2011, 06:41 PM
World. I have never been to Disneyland but I have been to Disney World a ton of times. I am not too worried about eating poorly though. My Disney experience is a little different than most. My parents work there and live like 15 minutes away so we usually go home to eat rather than the crazy restaurants.
ade903
01-07-2011, 06:46 PM
Oh, nice. I've never been to Disney World. That's how we do Disney, too. We usually bring snacks and go right when it opens. Then when it gets crowded, we head home and eat. And go back in the evening. I had a pass last year so we went all the time and usually only stayed for a few hours. Those passes are so popular, though and it is SO crowded all the time.
I hope you have fun!! How long will you be gone?
KayNicole
01-07-2011, 07:04 PM
It should be nice and dead at Disney World. It's the slow time now. That is one nice thing about how BIG it is, even though there are still thousands of people visiting... there are multiple parks and they are all pretty big. And since I have been there a ton of times I am pretty much heading straight for all the new stuff. I might hit up a few classics while I am there but I really just want to see the new stuff. Everyone tells me not to bother going to Disneyland. Since I know Disney World so well they tell me I will only be disappointed (because it is so small). I figure I will wait until I have kids. lol

OH JEEZ. Hey all, I had started a 20-somethings WW thread a few days ago because I couldn't find one ANYWHERE, so I'm glad I found one; and hopefully the ladies that participated on mine will bring themselves on over.
I'm 20, I started WW Online Monday, and so far I think it's going good. I have been drinking a lot more water than I usually do, and my skin looks fabulous.
My only concern is that I feel like I'm eating a LOT more than usual. Perhaps because I'm no longer eating sugary stuff that makes my blood sugar drop quickly after eating it.
My starting weight is 207.6, and I'm hoping to be somewhere around 160 by the summer. Six months? Is that a reasonable goal? Should I be trying to stay under my points every day or should I use them every day? I've gone over a bit into the weekly allowance pretty much every day so far, maybe because I'm just getting used to the program.
Not going over today, though <3
ade903
01-07-2011, 08:19 PM
Kay - that'll be fun! I'm sure you'd be disappointed. It is small. If they have it, make sure you hit the Toy Story Mania ride. It sounds dumb (or it did to me), but it is seriously my second favorite ride! (The DW commercial has it, so it can't just be at DL, or so I assume).
Kori - welcome! Any interest in the meetings? It's easy to eat a lot when you are choosing lower point stuff. Especially since fruit is free. *happy dance* That's a reasonable goal, but don't be discouraged if you don't hit it (wow, that sounds pretty negative). Make sure you set mini goals so if you aren't progressing quickly toward your big goal, you are celebrating the changes you are making now. I hear you are supposed to hit your target each day to make sure you are eating enough. Not eating enough slows your metabolism down and can result in a stall. So basically don't eat under (1 or 2 points shouldn't mess with that though). Some people add 7 of their weekly allowance points to each day, and others don't use them at all. And then others use them all at once. Just make sure you aren't depriving yourself or you'll go on a five week binge (like I just got off of...). Glad you are here! It is always fun to see a new face or two!

Welcome Kori- is your avatar you or Lauren Ambrose? Great pic if it's you and man do you look like Lauren Ambrose. lol Anyway I would suggest trying to use all your points. Some people kind of stall out when they don't use all the points and end up plateauing for awhile. Although if you are like me I sometimes aim under because I know I will likely have an unplanned treat at some point throughout the day. ;)
KayNicole

Hahaha Ade, I love that ride! I have only done it a couple of times but I will be sure to do it just for you. Maybe I can even snap a cell phone pic of the pic you are supposed to buy just for you too. LOL Now I just have to remember what park it's in. My Mom will know. Probably Magic Kingdom.

Did I mention that I'm going to Vegas on the 15th? I got my boyfriend tickets to see Styx for his birthday. I am really excited. The tickets are for his birthday and the trip itself is our Christmas present to each other. Kay, I was just thinking "Man, I am so jealous, I want to go somewhere" and then I remembered that I am! I haven't decided how I'm going to handle food. If we drive, I'll be bringing fruit, veggies, and low cal "easy" fixings (and cheaper alcohol lol), but we might fly. I'm torn if I should attempt to track and count points or if I should just go for it, but make better choices...minus the alcohol of course (Fat Tuesdays is amazing...best/cheapest frozen drinks ever). I think I'm just going to see how this weekend goes, then decide.
I really hate how my eTools works. I mean, I weigh in on Thursdays, so that's when it resets my allowance points. In reality, I'd rather it reset for Monday, so if I want to have an indulging weekend, I have to have a great week to save them...oh well. I guess I could just enter my weight in on Mondays, but I like clean, accurate records. ;)

Ade- that sounds like an awesome trip!! I have never been to vegas. We drove through one night on a road trip but my grumpy *** father in law wouldn't fricken stop! Can you believe that? Wouldn't even drive down the strip and jump right back on the highway. One day... OOOOOOO My birthday!!!! I have been trying to figure out what I want to do for my bday and it has to be big this year (30). Vegas would be SWEET! but I need people to go, it's more fun with more people.
You have to take pictures and report back on the concert. I am so jealous of you! you have a grown ups dream trip and I have a kids dream trip. LOL
ade903
01-07-2011, 10:17 PM
Wouldn't even stop?? That is nuts! Okay, I get not wanting to drive on the strip...it's so crowded, lots of pedestrians AND cars, but maybe stop at a hotel and walk around for 20 minutes? That would have been fun! lol. You should totally go for your birthday (August? or am I way off?). I've been going 2-5 times a year (usually 4 or 5 except the year I was in Canada, that was only twice) since I turned 18. It is a blast. Especially now that I can (legally) drink and have a boy to go with. You must go. You must. I just got a new camera, so I'm going to try my hardest to take pictures (do you think House of Blues allows pictures?). I am stoked. Kind of funny, you are right. I'm a grown up now! Last time BF's dad got us a free room at Caesar's Palace, but this time we were on our own, meaning I booked it and being a cheap-o we are staying at Excalibur. Which I think is neat. And for two nights it was $115. So. Freakin'. Excited. :)

I am new to this forum but I am ready to share my weight loss process as I begin it. I am ready to be fit for the summer and enjoy living in my body. A healthier and happier me is most important, losing weight isn't about what others think of me, but more of what I think of myself.
January 7, 2011 - Current weight is 183.6
April 01, 2011 - I hope to be in the 150's
May 17, 2011 - I hope to be in the 130's
Good Luck to all in their weight loss journey, I wish you all success!

Awesome, I think the 19th will be better. We obviously have tons of time. I will have to make some goal out of it. I have no idea where I will be at by then. Kind of scary to think about. lol I am really worried about tackling the 160's and 150's for some reason. But I can guarantee I will be looking some sort of hot for vegas! LOL Oh damn and it will probably be nice and freaking hot when we go too. Oh well, it's cool inside and I will mostly be out at night anyway. :D

Kay - WOOT! I'm so excited. The 19th is better for me, too. My sister and my best friend have birthdays the following weekend. Is your hubby going to be able to take time off work to go? You are gonna have to get a little black dress. It is required for Vegas! :)
Diamond - Welcome! Are you doing meetings or anything?
As for me, last night I ended up drinking Champagne...12 ounces of it...according to eTools it is only 10 points...doesn't that seem a little low? I may have to do research. Though they don't give us the option to add alcohol in calculations...oh whatever. Just checked the pocket guide and it is 3 points in there, too. I don't know why I feel like it should be more. Only ended up 6pts over. Meaning I still have 41 allowance points left for this weekend. Watch out world! I've been really wanting McDonalds (actually dreamed about it last night...but I never got to the part where I ate it), so I'm thinking of spending 13 points on a 4 piece nuggets, small fries, 2 BBQ sauces, and a diet dr. pepper. I figure if I wait much longer, I might just go WAY overboard. So it's looking like a pretty lazy weekend around these parts. Slept in until 11. And I really only see leaving if I get McDonalds. Nothing else. Have a great weekend, everyone!

ade- yeah I am going to try and get him to schedule the time off. I told him this morning I decided what we are doing for my bday. :D He didn't have any objections since he knows I am going big for his bday too. He is such a party pooper and couldn't come up with anything fun for his 30th so I am going to surprise him with a plane ride. I haven't decided if I am going to do the fighter jet or the bi-plane thing. Probably the fighter jet. I will be staying on the ground. Anyway I will definitely be getting a new little black dress, and probably a couple others.
ade903
01-08-2011, 03:17 PM
Oh that's a really great gift idea. I don't know what the bi-plane thing is, but any guy would love the fighter jet ride. When is his birthday? February is my bf's birthday, our one year, AND Valentine's day. And I suck at gifts. He got the Styx tickets for his bday, but I'm not really sure what I'm going to do for the others. Ideas? Last year on Valentine's day, he was so cute. Mind you, we had our first date on Feb 2, and then it became "official" on Feb 7, so it was a new relationship. He surprised me with a day on Catalina Island (basically an island off the coast of Cali). It was so fun. I joked with him and said "You know, if we last until next year, the standards are set REALLY high" so last week I kind of reminded him that he has to top last year. lol. we'll see.
I have a pretty cute little black dress. It was actually in the prom section of Macy's one year. I would never let my kid wear that type of dress to prom...lol. I also have a purple one. Hopefully by August I'll need new ones. The black one is pretty stretchy, so that'll probably still fit, but I don't think the purple one will if I lost my goal weight.

Ade- Cute dress! I have a really cute purple one too but it's low cut. I will have to find something to use it for soon! I hope to need new ones by Aug. too!.
Ok so biplanes, you know, the crop duster ones. They do all the flippy stuff in the air and all that. Technical terms here. ;) I am pretty sure they will do the barrel rolls and all that in both planes. That is what will keep me on the ground. I think I could handle the biplane tricks but I don't know about the fighter jet!
Love your bf by the way. How cute. I think that the best gifts are memorable things, memorable moments. I took him to a baseball game one year for his bday. I knew the announcer so he let us come up to the box and hang out for a bit. Pretty cool. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h219/Kayangelz/bball.jpg
I took him to see George Carlin one year. It's his kind of humor and he looks (or looked) just like his granddad. lol What other kind of stuff does he like? Think of day trips or a class/lesson you could take. Oh I also took him to one of those places where you can paint your own ceramic thing and they fire it for you. We still have the silly little things we made. Man that was the year we met. :)

Ashley- Thank you for the advice! I'll try to keep using all the points, it's fun to figure out new things I can combine to get all the points in. I'm not really into the whole meeting thing, only because I'm never in the same place every week. I'm always running around, so I wouldn't be able to get there consecutively.
Kay- The picture is of me, haha. Who is Lauren Ambrose? I recently colored my hair, so this is what I actually look like now. Except I took my septum ring out, too. So minus the piercing.
I already can see a difference in the shape of my face and it hasn't even been a week! I can thank the water for that!
I got a vanilla chai latte today without thinking, and it had 53 carbs in it!! Can you imagine?? Insane. It was 8 points! But I only drank half, thank goodness.
ade903
01-08-2011, 06:27 PM
Kay - Ah. Biplane. Got it. I wouldn't like the flippy things, either. That's neat about the baseball game and George Carlin. I agree moments and memories are the best. Especially since anything he wants he gets, and if he doesn't get it, it is too expensive for me lol. Unfortunately, he HATES sports. He's really into computers and video games. And he isn't the type who would need or want to take a class on computers. He's more of the teach yourself type. We'll see. I have about a month to figure it out. I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled and see if I can get any hints out of what he says. At least I got his birthday covered.
Kori - if you are ever interested in the extra support of the meetings, the monthly pass allows you to go to any meeting. I am sometimes near where i work and other times I'm 60 miles away at my mom's. But I've been to three different meeting locations. Just an FYI (not pushing you to go to meetings lol. maybe people don't know that with the monthly pass you can go anywhere and multiple meetings a week if you want). Crazy how many points those drinks are. I was craving Starbucks Hot Chocolate earlier in the week, but nonfat w/o whip small was like five points. I said never mind lol.

So I made a really good veggie stir fry last night. Broccoli, snap peas, some slaw thing (not quite sure what it is) stir fried in a tablespoon of peanut oil, 2 tbsp of teryaki sauce, 1 tbsp of rice vinegar, and a huge dash of thyme (that was pretty much what I had here). Yum. I figured it at 3 points for half...

hey everyone,
would love to join the thread here :)
i think i posted a couple of times last month, but life kinda got in the way.
i do ww online, and really liking it so far. i did enjoy going to meetings, but when i was working, there were no meetings that were near my home/office after work that were accessible (i don't have a car).
ade, i'm not sure if you live near a trader joe's, but they have a prepackaged stir fry veg mix that i use all the time- they usually have it where the bagged salads are. its super cheap, and i get at least 3-4 dinners out of it. i add some kind of protein and a mix similar to what you use. i really love it :)
soooo looking forward to the journey with you all, and i hope i can be of help along the way!

So I went to the first WW at Work meeting that we had last Thursday and left kind of disappointed. It was just a very general "I'm your leader...any questions?" meeting where they weighed us in for our starting point. But that was it. I guess I was expecting to leave there with my point allowance and whatnot. We'll be getting all of that information, plus our information to get onto E-Tools at the meeting this coming Thursday, but still.
I actually was able to download a points+ counter app on my itouch, so I've been trying to track my food as much as possible and just trying to get comfortable with the idea of using points instead of looking at just calories. I started going back to the gym faithfully and I am hoping that the UGLY number that was on the scale at the meeting last week will not be there next week ;) LOL
I am very jealous of everyone's trips that they have planned!!! I have not been to Disney World or Vegas since high school. I want to go back to Vegas especially very much. I think it would be fun to be there to see everything that's new and you know actually be able to enjoy Vegas for what it's known for! haha

and i did have room for it points wise. but i really feel it..lol
question for you all- do you use activity/points allowance a lot? just curious.
i would love to take a real vacation...since moving to west coast, any vacation time i had from work was spent visiting family (which was always fun). once i get a new job, i will reward myself with a real vacation. sun, beach, tan...or vegas. i've never been :)

Hi everyone.
Weight Watchers is my favourite eating plan and the only one I've every been successful on and felt comfortable at doing and not felt deprived of anything.
I don't attend meetings and I don't follow any of the modern/new plans. I don't really know much about them although I've read a little bit about the new PlusPoints system (especially when I discovered some of my favourite WW foods in the shops have had their values increased, though I've just recalculated it according to my system).
The system I use is over ten years old now and from when I attended WW when I was fifteen. Over the years I've always relied on that plan. I have my books, my calculation table etc and I love it. It's like an old friend if I want to get really corny.
So, I'm following the old plan and I'm permitted 20 points a week.
Today for breakfast I've eaten a WW bagel and some cream cheese and a yoghurt. And I'm gonna go for a run in a minute.

Hey Ladies!
I'm new to 3FC and joined looking for support and new recipes/food ideas. I'm doing WW now and am having some issues with it...for some reason no matter what I eat I still keep coming up new my p+ allowence! Am I doing something wrong!? I feel werid cuz I'm eating the same way and stuff I was before WW... In fact I think in eating more now. A few people I've talked to (my mother and my employer-she's a RN) think I need to get my thyroid checked because apparently "no one with your(my) eating habits should have a weight problem."
So i'm wondering if it's better to eat all the points even if not hungry or to just ignore it??? I currently get 42 p+ daily. It seems like A TON!

Ok that was suppose to say "coming up short" on the p+

Welcome WannaBaSkinnybride! I would definitely go see a dr. Better to know now if it's the thyroid. I am still on the old plan so I don't have a lot of suggestions on the points part. But I look forward to seeing you around here! :)

Good morning! (I guess it is afternoon, but I just got up an hour ago and am still in my Pjs, while enjoying coffee and a breakfast sandwich).
fillup - I definitely live near trader joe's. Yum. My problem is I go in there with the mindset "Oh it's at trader joe's, it must be healthy" and that is not always the case (one weekend I ate a while package of rocky road bars and dark chocolate peanut butter cups...not individual serving size packages, either). But they have great produce. I know if I get tomatoes or strawberries from another store I have to eat it in 2 days, but trader joe's lasts at least four or five. Cheap-ish, too. Oh, and welcome! This is my first week where I've been on track completely. And I've used a couple allowance points here and there. Usually, I would use them. But right now I'm trying to be "good" before my Vegas trip next week. And this week was the first week I earned activity points. So I haven't yet decided if I'll use those. Probably not.
Kori - it is definitely a draw to be able to go to different locations :)
Chele - Sorry your meeting was a disappointment. I guess it takes some time to organize. You seem positive and not turned off by it. Come to Vegas!!!
Beauty - Welcome! I'm glad you like WW! It just makes sense to me. Look forward to seeing you around.
skinnybride - definitely see a dr. have you been losing or is it too soon to tell? I don't think you should be stuffing yourself to reach your goal. That being said, they do recommend that you hit your points target. They say less than that and you might not be eating enough...could stall metabolism...Perhaps (if you go to meetings) bring it up with your leader. Oh, and welcome!
So many new faces! I love it!
Zan - if you are reading this, please come back to us. We love you and miss you........ :(
So last week at my meeting I bought the WW shakes, mini bars, and oatmeal. I totally love the shakes. I actually just put the packet into my coffee and then I don't need creamer or splenda. It's two points and counts as a power food. Woo.
And I discovered this morning that my DroidApp (WW Diary) is wrong. It told me 5 points for my breakfast sandwich. But my WW calculator and the book say 6. Sad-face.
I'm feeling really good, you guys. It's Sunday, and I know it's going to be a 100% on track week for me. That is history in the making for me. Not once in six months has that happened (hence the minimal weight loss LOL). I've tracked everything. Only used 10 allowance points. I feel good. Like I accomplished something. Heck, I've even had my multivitamin every single day. :)

i would for sure see a doc...i worked with a woman who also had a difficult time losing weight, throughout her whole life...after seeing a doctor, it actually had something to do with her potassium levels, along with another hormone disruption that was causing her to actually gain weight when she was on weight watchers, or an another eating program.
ade- yes, trader joe's def has some goodies- i'm a sucker for their cookies...and kind. and just cause they're small doesn't mean i can eat the whole thing...lol. thank you for the welcome :)
i've been pretty good about staying on track- i also occasionally use my allowance points, maybe a twice a week. i'm taking more control of exercising, which is a real first for me. i've outlined an actual schedule, and i'm dedicated to sticking to it. i've recently been laid off, so i have no excuse- i have all the time i need to workout!
kudos for tracking everything! its really the best tool for me. i struggle with binge eating- seeing it all on paper makes it scary...

Ade-Well I've been able to lose some weight in the past but only on a fasting diet and I'm pretty sure most of that was water weight cuz i gained back about 4lbs the next week. I am starting the fasting diet tomorrow its a 10day plan, which basically allows an unlimited amount of thematic Veggies and 8oz of lean chicken, plus you drink these shakes and take some pills that help clean ya out.
I'm going to be calling my dr tomorrow and explain my concerns and see if I can get a apt for some time this upcoming week.
Fallup-Yeah, on one hand I kinda hope my thyroid is the reason for all of these problems. I would explain a lot. On top of the weight gain and unable to lose, I have issues with staying warm esp in my fingers and toes!lol. The BF says they are like little ice daggers! I also lose hair like CRAZY! it falls out in clumps!
I'm so glad I found this site! Everyone is supportive which is great since I don't get a lot of support at home. Im so excited to be losing this weight for REAL this time!

even though my friends and family are supportive of my, they're all at healthy weights, or may be have 15-20lbs to lose. i don't always feel as though they can relate to being obese. this forum is a godsend.

Hi! I'm actually lifetime (happened when I was 15 or so) but gained my weight back plus some in college. I'm trying to get down to a healthy BMI.
Wanttobeskinny--sounds like thyroid problems to me! I got tested becuase it runs in my family, but I'm normal. This sounds weird, but I was kind of hoping it would be my thyroid so once I got treated i would lose weight. Alas, I can only credit my love of junk food for my weight gain. Not my thyroid.

That would most deff be a plus! I'm just a little skeptic that it would work for me becuase my moms been on snthyroid(sp?) for a few years now and not much has changed.
Does anyone here drink green tea? I've studies that say it helps with weight loss and was wondering if anyone had any expernce with that?..

bride - I drink lots of green tea (at least 2 cups on work days). I'm not sure if it helps, but I've read the same things. The only way I think it would hurt if you bogged it down with sugar. I like mine plain. Yum!

Hey all! I have been feeling some self sabotage coming on. TOM in on it's way and whenever I reach a mini goal I seem to hit a stall. I am really going to try and push through. I am leaving for vacation (visiting the parents and Disney) in 2 days and plan to keep up on my running and eating healthy. In fact I called my mom this weekend to remind them that I am eating healthy so my Dad (the chef) shouldn't plan on making anything super fattening. Her response was "Oh....... well do you have any suggestions?" Kind of like well if you are going to be so picky why don't you tell me what you want. I just said that I wont be picky but just no dishes made with lots of cream or butter or carbs. Oh well I am hoping they will take my shopping when I get there so I can get some things.
ade903
01-10-2011, 11:47 AM
Kay - I hope you have fun! My mom is the same way...except she's on WW so she's very supportive. But I apparently have become really picky this past year. I hate chicken. And my dad has some health issues so he really can only eat chicken. So my mom is always like "if you don't want chicken you have to come up with something." and I never can. So I'm usually on my own. Oh well. You are much better than I am. I pretty much decided I'm going all out in Vegas. As long as I stay on plan through Friday. I'll be bringing some fruits and veggies to snack on, though. :) So excited!

yeah I was happy to discover that it stopped tracking me after I got married. Turns out the county my marriage license was issued in does not have electronic records. But if I look up my maiden name it has all of my previous addresses AND it shows me living at my brother's current address. Which is super weird since he just mentioned to me this year that he gets mail for me there. Anyway, through this site I was able to find out that my ex bought a nice new house with his new wife and I have their address now. Not that I am a stalker or anything! really, I'm not! LOL

Katarina - I heard, weirdly enough, that you can tell if you have a thyroid problem if your eyebrows from mid-eye out towards your temple is thinning/gone. My grandma has a thyroid problem, and she actually confirmed it. Which is weird. But I don't know, check I guess?
I went wild today food-wise. I don't even want to admit how much I ate, but I had tons of points and had been doing great all week and I really just wanted a day to be bad and eat like the 20-year-old fatty pothead that I am. I didn't even bother tracking my points. Maybe I can have a day off every Monday and still lose weight? Has anyone ever tried it? Considering this is the first day of my second week, I'm not really worried about falling off the wagon. I've been doing great so far, and definitely enjoying it. It's the easiest. Definitely back on points tomorrow, however.
Today was supposed to be my weigh-in but I went straight from my boyfriend's to work, and he doesn't own a scale. :( I guess I'll just have to wait until tomorrow, and I'm sure my weight will be the same/unchanged because of my careless eating today. We'll see.
On another note, my gynecologist called Friday and said I should call her back, so I'm hoping something awful isn't going on with my body. I had my period this week, so I'm definitely not pregnant. I wonder what it is. The office opens at 9:15am tomorrow.
Hope everyone's doing fab

spokeo.com= creeptacular.
i just took myself off of it. i also played stalker for a little while.
kay-hmm dip...i like to make my own bean dip- canned beans, some shallot/green onion, cilantro, little bit of olive oil, salt and pepper, cumin...whatever else i have around to throw in. i blend it and put in a little water to help it along. i use it as a spread sometimes as well :)
mel- my friend uses zumba for wii- she says it's pretty intense at first, but she loves it. she hates working out, but says it keeps her entertained.
i'm pretty proud of myself today- exercised for about an hour- did 30DS and a brisk walk on the treadmill for 30 min. but i feel bloated for some reason.

how is everyone else?

And that Spokeo thing is super creepy. I guess I'm glad it still lists me at my parents house and not at school?

I am going to order Zumba for Kinect with my next pay check. I was going to wait because it is a little more than I was willing to pay, but then hubby went and bought himself ANOTHER Halo game, so I decided I need another game! I want EA 2 also (I can't think of the official name right off the top of my head).
I have biggest loser for kinect and it's pretty intense. I like Kinect Adventures though, it's fun and I get a pretty moderately intense workout.

I had an outrageous binge day yesterday. It was basically twelve hours of power eating. I had burger king AND mcdonalds. And a double cheeseburger and medium fries and a vanilla latte AFTER dinner which was baked stuffed scallops and a crapload of meatloaf and scalloped potatoes. I'm at a loss of words for the lack of control. And I'm paying for it today. I've been sick all morning with horrible stomach pains. I couldn't even go to work.
Last night, I weighed in at 212. More than I have ever weighed in my life. After being sick all morning, I'm back to the weight I was at the beginning of last week. A week wasted because of self-sabotage.
Does anyone have tips for when you find yourself in the middle of a huge binge? It was like an out-of-body experience. It's horrid. It's not happening ever again. I'm never letting myself ruin my progress again.
So, called the Gyno today for the news she wanted to tell me, and I have an infection, most likely stemming from a virus. THANK GOODNESS I'M NOT PREGNANT. Such a relief.
Hope everyone's doing fab todayyy

01-11-2011, 06:29 PM
Kori - remember most of that food is probably still in you. Once it leaves your system (drink LOTS of water), you'll most likely be down a bit more. How are you doing today? My problem with binging is that it leads to "Oh well, screwed the whole day up" then "screwed the whole week up" then "screwed the whole month up." And that's really where the problem is. So as long as you get back on track instead of following my way of thinking, don't be too hard on yourself. That's my biggest tip. In the middle of a binge, I can't really help you. Maybe try to remember how awful you felt? And WOOOO for not being preggo. Getting those "oh it's the gyno, I have something we need to discuss" call is NEVER fun. Happened when I was in Canada for a year. Man health care is slow there. Took six months to get a normal pap result. then another six weeks to get a follow up result. Six weeks is a long time when they say "Oh you could have HPV." Thank goodness it was nothing. :)
I had McDonald's today. This was my first food "out" since January 2nd. My tummy wasn't a fan. 33 points. And it was worth it (I say this now). I tried to hold out until Vegas, but I knew if I waited much longer, it would have easily been 60-100 points.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Ashley- Since I messed up so bad yesterday and was sick all morning, all I ate today was soup and a peanut butter and jelly. I'm still 20 points under my daily points for the day but I just don't feel like eating. I'm apathetic about the disaster that was yesterday. I think I'm just going to go to bed. Tomorrow I have planned out, CT is expecting 15inches of snow tonight, so I won't be going anywhere for a couple days. That means no threat of fast food haha. I have a serious problem.

Hi Ladies,
Wow, so much to catch up on! I've been a little MIA lately. I'm on my last week of break now, trying to prepare myself to reenter the real world. I'm still a pound and a half over my goal range, but I think tomorrow I'm just going to bite the bullet and go to a meeting. I'm still paying for it, and I could use the support.
I've been doing okay with food, but not great. It's just really hard when I'm home and there are so many delicious things to eat, combined with not cooking for myself, and going out a lot. I've been making good choices, but only relative to how I could be eating, not how I should be eating. And, the constant presence of Trader Joe's dark chocolate covered almonds is no help... I finally put them into my tracker, and 1 almond is 0 points, 3 almonds is 1 point, and I've been tracking every single one :(
But, a week after I get back from break is VetProm, and I'm wearing an itty-bitty dress, so I'm hoping that will keep me motivated?
Greetings to all the new people, I'm looking forward to getting to know you! And Ade, those wire bracelets are super pretty!

Ade ~ Those bracelets are so pretty....I love love love the purple one!!!
Kori ~ Binges are awful....but you just have to start brand new the next day and get right back on it. It's making sure that you don't continue down the binge path day in and day out that is the tough part.
Tomorrow's my first weigh in and the day that we will get all of our information. I won't know daily points and all that stuff until tomorrow, but this past week, I've been tracking my food and trying to figure out points values using an itouch app that I downloaded just to see where I am everyday points wise. Right now, I tend to be eating between 30-33 points a day. It will be interesting to see what my actual points allowance will be. I'm excited to get all the information after the disappointment of last week when we just weighed in and that was pretty much it.

Does anyone have tips for when you find yourself in the middle of a huge binge? It was like an out-of-body experience. It's horrid. It's not happening ever again. I'm never letting myself ruin my progress again.
Hope everyone's doing fab todayyy
i have a bingeing problem...it's totally an out of body experience, and it's something i can always feel coming on. it kinda fluctuates with me, but i find what's really helped me is my own awareness, calling friends, listening to what i'm really craving and the emotions behind it, and telling myself that i am in control.
for example, sometimes i'll crave something "bad" i.e., mcdonalds or something. i won't let myself have it. soooo....i'll eat double the amount of food (and calories probably) in other stuff. sometimes, it stems from anxiety, other times stress, you name it. but i've come a long way- if i feel a binge coming on, i will pull out a few tricks. most of the time, i will just leave my house (without money or credit cards) with my cell and just walk. get distracted. and if i am craving the one thing, i'll just have it. i'd rather just eat it.
i still occasionally binge, but we're all a work in progress. i try not to beat myself up too much after i do. it is what it is, and i know you must feel so crappy about it, but it's all a learning experience, and part of the process. just pick yourself up by the bra strap and do your thing tomorrow :)
you can do it girl!

Yesterday we had a HUGE snow storm. I kind of loved it because I earned a bunch of activity points from shoveling, etc. And, I worked out with the Kinect. Again, I have to say, I can't wait until I get Zumba for the Kinect!
But, what stunk was I couldn't make it to WW with the blizzard going on. So, I will weigh in tomorrow morning. I like being able to weigh in any day of the week that their open, makes it easier on me!
Is anyone doing the Pound for Pound challenge? Someone told me WW does it, but I am wondering if I need to register or what.

I'm bummed. This has been my best, most consistent 10 or so days, right? Tracked everything. Stayed on plan over the weekend. The works. Well, I weigh in at home daily, and then Thursdays around 5pm I go to my meeting. This morning's weigh in was the same weigh in I had last Thursday. Meaning I might not show any progress at my meeting tonight. I know, not the end of the world. But it is still a little discouraging. I'm not going to let it ruin me or my plans, but I just wish the scale showed off the hard work. I'm going to Vegas this weekend, and I think with the little progress I've seen since January 3rd, I'm going to go overboard. Maybe I'm overreacting, since I haven't even had my meeting yet. We'll see. Just feeling a bit down about it. I know that there are hits and misses, plateaus and rough weeks. I think I just assumed since this is my first week on plan completely since Thanksgiving, I was hoping to see a good drop. I really need to stop being lazy and actually cook. Could be those darn frozen dinners (though I've done several weeks before on them, and still lost a lot...).
Happy Thursday. Hope all is well.

Congrats to everyone on there weight lose.
I'm super stoked cuz I just relized I have already lost 10lbs in exactly a week!! Last Friday morning when I weighed in I was 258 now I'm 248! I know in the Gand scheme of things it's not that big of a deal but I'm so excited to be under 250! I never want to go over it again!
Now I'm only 120ish away from my GW!
Let's just hope I don't fall off the wagon this weekend! It's hard to lose weight when your living and cooking for someone who's desperate to GAIN(gasp!) weight!lol.
Good luck to everyone!

I gained .4. Not too bad, but really, after my near perfect week, it totally sucks. I pretty much have a horrible mindset for Vegas, and that's not going to change. I pretty much know what I need to do. I need to cook. And eat natural, non-processed foods. My body loves it. I just need to get creative.

I weighed after coming home from the gym around 4pm.....which definitely is not my normal time, but I was happy to see the afternoon weight was lower than the "first thing in the morning" weigh in form the other day. So, I'm hoping for a good number tomorrow morning :)

Hi all I' m kinda new. I was here before and now I' m back with even more to lose. I just started WW pro. I am trying to get the motivation to be active, feels like my body is falling apart lately. I' m also doing this so my husband and I can have a baby (worried being this over weight will hurt it) So hoping to be at a decent weight by April so we can start trying. Any one know about doing WW while preggers? Please let me know. Trying to find the me under me in many ways! Under the flab and to find me inside again!
WannaBaSkinnybride
01-14-2011, 09:34 PM
Rebecca-I know your not allowed to do WW with the company while pregnant. But if your doing it on your own its up to you....I do know its not good for a developing fetus to be deprived of the nutrients it desperately needs.
I know its not going to be a concern for awhile but if you breastfeed, you HAVE to keep your daily intake of calories up or you will lose your supply. Also, if you have rapid weight loss it releases toxins that can get into your milk.

Hey ladies! I am doing well on my vacation. In fact as I type I am smelling egg mcmuffins with egg, cheese and ham that my mom is making while I am eating yogurt granola and blueberries. :/ But at least I can say I am being good! :) Hope you all are well. I am off to Disney today. :D

I haven't weighed in yet at WW since our meeting was cancelled due to snow and we don't have any of our information yet since it's WW at Work and we just had an introductory meeting. Hi ladies! I am new to this group (a delayed migration from another 20s WW thread) and am looking forward to actively posting here for support/etc as I tend to just lurk on the WW board.
A bit about me, I joined WW in November after coming back from a trip (literally) around the world with exactly zero photos of myself because all the excess weight makes me hate getting my picture taken. I live in DC, which is allegedly the fittest city in the country (I question said claim), so I drive out to Maryland on Saturday mornings to attend meetings (really, only like 15 minutes). I really like the meetings and my leader, but sometimes feel a bit out of place as everyone is at least 10 years older than I am.
My goal is to lose a total of 80lbs by December 31, 2011, but I have a bunch of mini-goals along the way. Currently I am focusing on getting to 190.5 so my BMI will move from obese to overweight. Only 6.5lbs to go!

So this week will be my first missed meeting since I started WW in October. I'm giving blood...and then I have an event to go to after work...so I'm really not going to be feeling up to it...or have the time for it. It's going to drive me nuts not weighing in. But I don't like weighing myself on other scales...because the results are always different.
It's so cold here today. -7 this morning. Tomorrow we're supposed to get snow, sleet and freezing rain...gag.

Perk up, ladies, its a new week! :)
Mel - just think how much the scale will be down next week :)
Wanna - Just think, it didn't go up, right? I know its frustrating when it doesn't go down, but I always think, hm, well, I'm not GAINING so that's a win in itself.
So I've been a nervous wreck for a few days. Saturday was my "off" day - we went out for woodfired pizza and drinking and it was a good time. Back OP yesterday and today, and today I even ran after spin class. I don't know if I'm going to weigh in tomorrow or just do it on Thursday.

I'm HOME! Yay. Vacation was good and I ate well. I am 2 lbs down and I am pretty sure I am retaining water plus I ate late last night so I am thinking I probably had even more of a loss than is showing right now. :D I unfortunately came home with a souvenir cold (thanks Disney kids). ;) Which I hope goes away soon. Wish I had some cabbage soup all ready to go. But I am lazy so I will probably go buy some low sodium chicken noodle soup. I hate being sick.
How are you all doing?

Vegas was awesome. I had 3 or 4 32 oz frozen alcoholic drinks....about 10-15 jello shots....another shot....a sex on the beach....and that was just the alcoholic drinks. Woosh. I'm tired and full! But had fun. The concert was AMAZING.
Kay - way to go with the loss, definitely admire someone who can go on vacation and lose. Hope you feel better!!!
I think after last week and my gain I'm going to try eating clean again. It worked well before. And now I don't have the excuse of school.
Lots of work to get to, have a great day everyone!

Glad to hear everyone had fun on thier vacations! A vacation sounds great right now...to bad I can't get off work.
I'm pretty sure TOM might be happenig in the next few days so I'm worried about water weight. I have to stay on plan next weekend, I ate stuff like chips, mashed potatoes, and pizza(6p+ for one tiny piece!) which can NOT happen again. I do so well during the week then feel like I'm ruining it all over the weekend.
I'm going to go by the store on the way home tonight and pick up some WW progresso soups and frut/veg. Maybe that will help me to stop grazing all day.

I am not making great choices today but I left room for the pts so I guess I am ok but I can't help but feel guilty. I did great with TOM cravings but now that I am sick I apparently only want comfort foods. :/ Oh well, hopefully this cold will pass soon. I am going to wait one more day before I get back into the full workouts but no more than that. I need this cold to be over with. :)
ZAN!!!! WHERE ARE YOU. :) I think she got her new glasses and discovered her inner confidence and has been enjoying her new image. We aren't needed anymore. ;) I sure hope that is the case. That's a good idea. If I didn't have an American Idol party that's what I would have done at my meeting last night, but I didn't go, so I didn't have to worry about it. haha

I'm very excited because today is my first actual WW meeting where we actually get information ;) LOL Two weeks ago, the leader just introduced herself and we paid (I'm in a WW at Work program) and then last week was a snow day, so today we get our information and points values and everything. I've done enough research through here and a couple ipod apps, that I've spent the past two weeks tracking food the best I can and really getting my fruits and vegetables in.
I'm interested in weighing in too because my home scale showed a loss of 5 pounds in these two weeks or so, so I want to see what the WW scale says. Last night was not the best dinner (pizza), but I made sure to have lots of water to hopefully flush some of the sodium out. We shall see.

I'd really like to join you here. I am currently trying to maintain my weight or if possible lose about 5lbs. I've been a maintainer for a while now, but some pounds sneaked back on. At the moment I'm horribly stressed, I've exams coming up and I'm tired all the time. When I come home from school most of the time I'm too tired to cook so I eat sandwiches or cereals. Also, I'm just too tired to exercise. Well, that's an excuse. I love exercise, I'm just too lazy to get started.

Morning ladies. I am returning with my head hanging low. I had a terrible week plan wise. I think I had fast food almost every day. That cold kicked my butt and I did not feel like cooking AT ALL. Now that I am sure I am a good 5 lbs up (lets hope not) I am going grocery shopping after work today and cooking a meal! I am so excited. I think I might actually make a couple so I have meals for a few days. I have got to make this V-day goal!

Kay - I'm having a craptastic week or two...
So I'm not sure if you remember, but my grandfather's brother died in Oct/Nov. And he was a hoarder. So my family and I spent the whole weekend cleaning out his house. This was my first trip, but the third trip my grandpa has made. And they have taken over 7000 pounds of TRASH to the dump. Plus they are recycling anything that can be recycled (newspapers, magazines, etc.) and taking to good will anything that someone might want. So I'd guess maybe 5000 pounds of that stuff. It has been ridiculous. And I'm guess that we are only about 15% done with the crap he had....I'm pretty angry that he left all of that stuff. I mean, I have to keep reminding myself that it was a disorder, but it's really tough. He's got 2 40 foot storage containers that when you open them it's just a wall of crap. five cars that are full top to bottom with crap. His entire 725 sq ft house had a tiny pathway and the rest is floor to ceiling, wall to wall of crap. He literally never threw anything away. Half eaten pizzas. Candy wrappers. Newspapers. 1000s of books. 100s of tires (he stopped on the side of the road if he ever saw something). I'm so emotionally drained (and hungover from my recovery last night). So I think we'll be going and working on this once a month for the next year or two....it's really exhausting.
I'm still mopey. Not exactly caring about food and healthy choices....trying to calm down.

My husbands grandfather had the same thing going but only got really bad for about 10 years before the family moved him out of his house (which he was PISSED about). He was also super pissed that they started cleaning out the house before he died. So I do understand a little of what you are going through. Don't let it bring you too far down. I did a boot camp in high school five days a week, really early in the morning...and I'm thinking about doing it again. I feel like I need a kick in the arse, and I'm not doing it to myself. And I can't afford a personal trainer. Hmmm...we shall see. Monday is almost over, thank goodness! I have a date with my pillow lol. Can't wait to sleep!!!

Ade- we are so on the same wavelength lately. I have been thinking about my bed since 1:30. lol Which is horrible because I have to cook tonight. Oh well. Anyway bet your mom is right and I totally support the boot camp idea... or some sort of fitness class. They always give me a good boost.

jay: i am obsessive daily weigher (night and morning). at first i think it made me freak out, but now i have been writing it in my tracker daily, so going back and looking at the comparison from week to week has been really helpful.

So I'm really starting to suck at WW. I keep cheating and it makes me depressed but I have been so depressed and nervous lately i compulsively eat. I just found out the reason why my little(well 19yo) sister is moving back to florida...She's pregnant! The father is her 40yo boss/boyfriend who happens to still be married to his (ex)wife who just so happens to be my sisters teacher!!! Its enough to make me go insane! Now i'm the only person in my entire HUGE family over the age of 12 that's not a mommy and/or pregnant. To top it off my sister is still insisting shes a still a lesbian but that "he's different" and her girlfriend down here is gonna flip out because my sister didnt tell her see was seeing someone else.
WOW sorry for that I just need to vent! Its driving me crazy!lol.
I am promising myself I WILL stay on plan for the next week! If i do I am going to award myself with another Vera Bradley!

Wow bride! That's intense! It sounds like a lifetime movie!
I wish I had some "WW wisdom" but I'm not even thinking about healthy choices. Good luck! If it means simply maintaining (simple...or so they say) while getting your head on straight, that's cool, too.
Out of curiosity, who's the little bundle of joy in your pic? I always assumed she's yours! Awww I can't wait to have babies in my family! My brother is getting married in October and their plan is to get pregnant on the honeymoon lol. SO excited! :) (sorry, random).

Girls...hang in there.
I've been having some serious health issues...I just want to throw in the towel...crawl into bed...and eat some cheetos.
I wont...but I want to.
We can pull through this.

bride- wow, that all sounds so draining! I am sorry to hear about all the drama.
Well I am back on plan. I totally cooked last night, sent the husband a txt that there were pork chops and rice in the fridge for him... I found Carl's Jr garbage in the morning. :/ Oh well :) More cooking plans for tonight and then Wed. my vegetarian friend is coming over for dinner (we try to do dinner every week). I think I will be on plan for at least the next few days without any problems or temptations. :D Now if only the fog would go away so I can feel safer about going out for run.

wannab- jeez- sounds like a handful. take a breather, and keep that positive attitude going. sometimes we gotta keep that smile on when everything else is chaos.
i went downstairs to run a little while ago, and someone was using the treadmill. i wanted to kick myself in the butt for not going down earlier. i did have all day, and should not have waited till people would be home from work and be using the fitness room (no one ever uses it during the day). humbug. hopefully he'll be done soon!

Well, it's (almost) official. My sweet BF is loaning me the funds for boot camp (I get paid Monday, but have to pay this week, so it's a very short term loan). I'm going to stop by and pay tomorrow after work. I've got mixed feelings, of course. On one hand, I'm excited. I know I do well in that type of exercise environment. On the other hand, I'm terrified at: a) exercising. I have been sedentary for about three years now and b) the fact that on days I stay at BF's I have to get up at 4:30. And days I'm at home I have to get up at 5. and c) it's five days a week. But you know what? I'm going to kick @$$. It's going to be hard. And I'm going to be tired and sore, but it's going to be awesome.
I'm finishing up reading "Succeed" by some psychologist (I could get the book to give you her name, but the author isn't important at this point lol). She talks about goals, why we fail, why we succeed, how to succeed, and the different ways to approach different goals in order to succeed. Make sense? I'm trying to fish through all of the stuff she says. One chapter she is saying this, and then in the next she contradicts it. Basically her point is that different things work for different people. But she gives loads of tools. Long story short, I'm going to use those tools to look at both Weight Watchers and Bootcamp. So yay me! I'm feeling a bit better about life. And dieting. Thanks for all of your support.
mmel - hope everything is okay!
kay - want to come over and cook for me??? ;) (don't you just wish we lived close so we could have cooking parties or each make recipes and exchange them for the week or something?)
fil - did you get your time in on the treadmill?
Kori - Hi!!!!
So I'm pretty set on going to my meeting this week. But I'm not ready to face that number (I should have listened to you guys last week and gone and not weighed in...I didn't). I'm tired of having excuses. And I feel like a fraud. Oh well. Thanks again, ladies, for your support. We got this.
Again, Zan, are you out there??? :( Come back to us!!

I might have Fibromylasia...or some sort of A&A disorder.
I'm in a lot of pain pretty much all the time. It makes it hard to work out...play with the kids, etc. And it sounds like an excuse...but its not. I want to be active...but I'm so worn out and in pain...It's next to impossible. I was hoping the 20+ lbs I've lost would help a bit...but it hasn't. I go back to the Dr. next week and hopefully he'll get me a referal to a specialist to get this taken care of.

Ade- I so wish we were closer! I love getting together with friends and making dinners. It's a once a week thing, at least, in my house. I used to cook meals from scratch every night but I gave up on that since my husband works nights. :( I miss it. I can't wait to hear how your boot camp goes!
Mel- I am sorry to hear about the medical issues. I hope they are able to find some sort of relief for you.

mmel- so sorry about what you're going through. as hard as this is, push through and try your best to stay on plan. it'll give you a sense of control and empowerment. if you can't work out, you can't. don't hurt your body, you know. it's not an excuse. keep this in mind-
"A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water." Eleanor Roosevelt
ade- glad to hear you're feeling better about things! and yay to boot camp! :carrot: is it an am class? i'm terrible about working out early. i like to, to get it out the way, but i'm so slow in the morning.
i did get to the treadmill last night...i never thought i would like running, but i'm really starting to enjoy it :) i'm going to go down in a little bit again. i've had to forgo my strength training again this week for my tattoo- go it touched up and waiting for it to heal. so no mat work and such. i guess i could do some weights, but figured i'd use this week to focus on C25K.
i need to start piecing my life together a little more. i'm not sure if you all remember- i got laid off last month and i've been looking for work. a month before that, my bf left me in seattle. after licking my wounds, i kinda went kamakaze and have thrown myself into my plan and exercising and such. i feel as though i've put job searching on the back burner. i've been doing it, just not as diligently. i also have to consider whether or not i want to stay in seattle. i'm not from here (moved here last year with the bf), and there isn'y much holding me here. i don't want to move back to nyc...i really want to move to the bay area, because there are way more opportunities in my field than here. seattle is type small. arg. i need to figure my life out.
for now, 30 min on the treadmill it is. sorry, just needed to get that out for a sec...

Bleck...up 3lbs over the past 2 wks. I'm not sure if it's all "gained weight" or TOM...I started spotting today...
I think I'm going to try to do the short 10 min excercises they have on the Fit TV station on my digital cable. 10 min is better than nothing if I can do that every day it's 70 min a week.

fillupthesky- Good luck on C25K. That is how I got into running. Also the bay area is nice. How exciting to have so many possibilities or directions to choose from. Keep us posted.
Mel- you are right, 10 mins IS better than nothing. You can do it!

Ade- Yeah Its VERY dramatic!lol. The baby that was in my pic was my niece(well kinda, cuz's daughter) Hailey or Emma lol. They are twins and since i cant see the face i'm not even sure which it is.lol. Between my family/friends/work I am surrounded by babies. 7 now and 2 on the way! But I guess being a nanny has that effect, as well as a Extremely fertile family!lol
Kay-Thanks! I'm doing a bit better, but since my sisters going to be here on sunday I sure that wont last long.
Fill- Thank you for the kind words! It really does mean alot right now!

I'm finally losing again! I got down to 244.4 today! I was sooo excited to see I was finally off of 248. It encouraged me and I actually stayed on plan today! I'm starting to think about what my rewards are going to be every time i hit a goal, I know a MAJOR shopping spree/engagement when I hit my final goal. But im not sure what im going to do for the little ones..I still want to "treat" myself to stay motivated tho.

i'm really close to hitting my 10%, and i'm wondering what i should to to treat myself. money is really tight...i could really use a haircut. but it would be too expensive. arg. what to do, what to do.
how about a mani-pedi day for you, wannab? or a massage? i loveeee those :)
or maybe some new exercise clothes/sneakers/equipment?

Good morning! Still completely off plan. I think the big problem is I don't have any money. And that doesn't help my motivation.
fill - it is an am class. We'll see how that goes...
bride - my family is a little slow at starting the next generation. But my bother is getting married in October and they plan to try soon after. YAY!
I officially signed up for boot camp. So Monday at 5am I'll be awake. Joy. But I'm excited. It's been an awful work week, but I'm getting better at leaving it at the office at the end of the day. Woot!
Have a lovely weekend!

Ade- What all do you do at a boot camp? I could never imagine getting up early enough to work out before work!lol.

Oooooo haircuts haircuts! :hyper: And do something fun! I just got mine cut and I have been meaning to tell you guys but haven't gotten pictures yet. I still have to redye it.
Ade- I really haven't gotten back into the swing of things either. I try but by the end of the day my cravings give in. How did I do so well on vacation only to do so terrible once I got back!? Ugh.

Ugh I gave into my craving for a Red Velvet Cupcake. But I did have the points for it I guess since all I had dinner was a HUGE veggie salad! I still feel gulity tho...
I did get to a farmers market this morning and picked up a TON of yummy veggies for only $10! I got over a pound of super fresh zucchini for a $1 and two baskets of cherry tomatoes for $3! I will being pack every Saturday the deals were so unbelievable.
So is anyone doing something speacial for valentines days? My BF keeps asking what I want/what I want to-do and I'm still not entirely sure.I want to stay on plan but I know if you go to my fav resturant I won't be able to stay an plan(there pan seared duck breast is to die for!) but I also dint want to cook since it's a Monday and doubt I'll have energy to make my yummy WW Lobster Risottio...I did tell him that if he wants to get me chocolate to make it SF. I'm just waiting to see if he tops last year...a wonderful dinner, flowers, chocolate, a bear, and Kay's Diamond Journey Necklace. I haved dropped a few hints that the matching year earrings would be greaty loved!
So what are y'all doing/hoping to be doing??

01-30-2011, 12:50 AM
wannabskinnybride- good job on portioning out your points! i felt the same way today-- i was craving a rice krispies treat and made the room for it. i still felt a little guilty for indulging, but i realized that it's a part of the plan to be able to fulfill cravings without going overboard. in the past, i wouldve held back until i had a binge fest and ruined everything, but i like being able to live a balanced life...
it's goingg to be our first vday as a married couple. I actually don't know what i will be giving him and i'm not sure what he is doing.

i made a mini goal this morning! 25lbs lost as of today :)
kay- i might need to revamp my hair after all as a reward. its just really long and all the angles have grown out. what did you do to yours?
ade- have fun at boot camp tom! let us know how it is.
wannab- sounds like your man did a good job last year...let him plan on his own?? :)

Fill-Congrats!! I cant wait till i get to 25lbs lost! That's such a awesome accomplishment!
I wish I could just let him plan, but i'm WAYY to controlling and LOVE to plan. While he on the other hand waits until the last minute for everything! Yes, he did good last year but he did run out of the house at 6am on valentines day to get everything! I don't know how he does it, I would go crazy trying to do stuff last minute!
I'm kinda confused as to whats going on with my numbers...I hit 241.6 on saturday morning and this morning I was back up to 243.6! Its but Im not going to let it bother me, my goal is to get back to down to 240 by friday!

try not to let little fluctuations get to you. i know its discouraging, but keep doing what you're doing :)
i'm a last minute type person also...hmmm...is there anyplace you'd really like to go to that's not a restaurant? like an activity or a show you really want to see? something like that maybe? or even going to the nearest big city and spending the day or something.
jay- may your hubby would like something like that too? some sort of activity both of you could do that you guys haven't done before.
i used to always tell my boyfriend that i'd rather do something than actually have a present for occasions.

GOOD MORNING!!! Okay, sorry for the caps, but that's how I'm feeling this morning. I got up about 5am and had my first day of boot camp. There were only three other girls there. We started by jogging a bit, then stretched. Then we did 10 push ups, 10 wide-leg squats, 10 sit ups with weights (slow and controlled), 10 not-so-wide-leg squats with shoulder presses, 10 lunges (on each leg) while doing bicep curls, then jogged to a far fence, and sprinted (or attempted) back. She said "and we'll repeat that ten times." Luckily time ran out. I only think I got through about four rounds. My legs feel like jelly. And she advised that the newbies will feel like they got hit by a truck tomorrow morning. I feel good about this.
bride - they say you do something different every day. Except Friday. That's the hill run day. I hear it is brutal (from my grandpa who regularly runs 7 miles 3 times a week). Christine (trainer) says we'll be doing "booty camp" on Thursday. I'll continue to let you know what we're up to!
fill - congrats!!!!! Way to go!
Kay - I have no idea how you did so well on vacation. I have that mindset that "oh since this is not normal and won't hurt my routine, I'll do whatever I want on vacation." We'll get back into it.
This Wednesday is my 1 year with the bf. He thought it was tomorrow (oh silly boys) so he wasn't going to come over tonight "to prepare." I have no idea what that means. Well, I mean obviously he is planning something, but I don't know what. And I don't know what to expect. Do I get him a gift? Last week I mentioned that i hate that he is so difficult to shop for and he said "well, you already got me a birthday present, so you're in the clear for a while."
As for Vday, last year (after being together for about 12 days) he surprised me and took me to Catalina Island. It was wonderful. The running joke is he has to top that this year. So I'm excited :)
Hope all is well!

WannaB- I think I will be going off plan for V-day too. I want to go out to this riverboat dinner but it will be a splurge for sure!
fillupthesky- I added some layers, some bangs and now I just have to re-dye. I think I will do that tonight so I will post some pics soon.
Ade- Glad to hear you are so chipper this morning! your class sounds awesome. I am so excited that the fog has finally lifted and today is SUNNY! Yay! I am going to try and run tonight since I haven't worked out since vacation!!
Well I have been a bad girl and my weekend was filled with pasta and bread. :( I have GOT to get outside today and burn off some fat! :D
