WEEK NUMBER 5

OMYGOD where did the last month go?

OK CHALLENGETTES

We've got a Pre Thanksgiving week and a half for burning, churning and spurning those extra calories.

What can you do differently just this week?

I liked the idea put out there by a number of you to increase the exercise -- so I'm going to commit to pumping it up. I'm going to see if I can exercise every day this week at least 1/2 hr high intensity per day.

I also need to not beat myself up for "losing it" this past weekend and eating drinking as if there were no consequences. It was our 4th Anniversary and I celebrated big time. :o

WEEKEND BRAIN FREEZES are a major pattern for me.

So what would you like to work on JUST THIS WEEK?

Patch: I'm out of control, and am up another pound this week. My numbers:

M: 30 (0 activity)
T: 28 (0)
W:29 (4)
T: 30 (0)
F: 26 (0)
S: 30 (0)
S: ??? (can't begin to calculate - no exercise again)

It's not hard to see what I need to do - lower food points and increase activity. I can start by staying away from empty-calorie snacks which have been my downfall since Hallowe'en. Activity is a little more difficult since my knee has been bothering me. I may try a run tomorrow on the treadmill to see how if feels.

Is anyone else hurtin'?

Seasaw, you are not alone. I feel like I'm really losing it, and not talking about weight unfortunately. I dread my WI Wednesday. My only savings grace is exercise, but I'm afraid that won't be enough to save me.

Patch: I'm with you this week--focus on more exercise!

Susan: I'm struggling with high point days as well. Went out to eat more than once this past week and have over eaten things I didn't really even want! Ugh!

I'm not looking forward to my WI on Wednesday either. I'm hoping that I'll be okay but my inner voice is mocking me. Gotta get that devil off my shoulder.

Patch: There are some weigh ins where I don't question where the weight loss came from...congratulations!!! Good for you! I've been really struggling with snacking on stuff I don't normally eat...like chocolate covered raisins/peanuts, cookies. These are things that I don't normally eat or crave so I'm a little disgusted.

Myra: Good luck with your weigh in today; I have mine at noon as well and am not looking forward to it.

Here are my numbers for this past week:

Wed: 18.5
Thur: 22
Fri: 25 (2 AP)
Sat: 27
Sun: 24
Mon: 24 (3 AP)
Tue: 22

Today is supposed to the best day all the way around weather wise and I won't be able to take advantage of getting outside as much as I'd like. I'm thinking, though, that taking 2 15-minute breaks and going for short walks will at least get me moving a little more.

I'll post my updated weight after my meeting at noon...

Week 1: 137.2
Week 2: 137.6
Week 3: 137.0
Week 4: 137.0
Week 5:137.4

Thanks Melissa -

Your points for the week look great... but I know about having tasty chocolate morsels around. I can't seem to avoid them for long. Don't be too hard on yourself. The more I look at what I'm doing (like the lost weekend) - the clearer I become on what "honestly" works. At least you're keeping track and posting. Don't sweat that .4... remember you have another weighin BEFORE Thanksgiving!!!

And I've gotta tell ya - the holidays are tough. I've decided - if I can manage to just maintain and not gain - through the Thanksgiving weekend I'll be thrilled.

Myra how'd it go?

I wimped out. My home scale said I gained about 3 lbs. and I couldn't face an official WI so I went to the meeting without weighing in.

Here are my stats:
Wed 26
Thurs 24
Fri 29
Sat 26
Sun 28
Mon 26
Tue 28

And this doesn't include some late night snacking. I was eating more for my hypoglycemia. This week I'm trying to concentrate more on WW and see how bad the HG gets. It is so hard to balance these two out.

Hi everyone,

okay week so far for me. I'll post points and exercise.

Patch - way to go and myra - don't sweat it, you are doing great. Look at the long term.

Melissa- you are the poster child of maintenance. Have you thought of doing a ww success story?

Okay, gotta split.

Way to go ladies!

Myra - I'm there with ya... there are weeks when I don't weigh in. But what I do sometimes - is at the end of the meeting -sometimes even before - I find a scale cubicle where there's no official WW present and weigh myself. It gives me a gage without 'fessing up.

I actually did this before my official weighin this week - cause I thought I must have gained - big surprise to me that I lost. Sometimes the WW scales surprise ya.

Hang in there - it's gotta be tough with the HG challenge.
