Up one this morning from my current low. I'm not concerned - fluctuations are a normal part of my process. Also, I ate dinner at between 11 and midnight last night (out at a late seating for New Year's Eve) and included a couple of drinks, a sure recipe for holding a bit of fluid in the AM. So this one will pass.

Good morning, Everyone! Happy New Year.

It was a bit sobering to step on the scales this morning. I'm at my all time high of 274.4. Yikes! I knew audit season at work had been stressful and I was feeding the stress. But, I had no idea how much! Things are winding down a bit at work, so it's time to start walking every day again.

Have a great day.

Good Morning, Everyone!

We got back home yesterday. We ate dinner late since I was unpacking and cleaning. I am still washing clothes! This is the part of vacation that I don't like. Oh yeah, and the part where you come home and start the hot water heater back up and it's leaking. Oh well, crap happens, right? It could be worse.

I just want to say, that the coffee that I drank while on vacation was for wimps! I am having a REAL cup of coffee this morning and enjoying every damn drop of it! :coffee:

Calories for the day: vacation?

Weigh In: 170.6

Up: 1 pound (I think this is because we ate late)

Dec 31 - 218.1

1: 219.4 +1.3 TOM
2: 215.4 -4 TOM

FINALLY - a woosh. I needed a woosh - BAD! This TOM is kicking my butt this month. Add in with that a head cold/sinus issues and too much Christmas stocking candy and I've been in a world of hurt! I still feel constipated and bloated, so I'm hoping for another loss tomorrow if I really push the water today. We'll see!

Vixsin

I am up 2.8 to 222.2. Gotta love the fluctuations! TOM is still here, yesterday was a crazier, carby, and saltier day than I normally have. AND my legs are hurting from skating still and I was dancing around my kitchen yesterday. I'm not worried. I am looking forward to getting back into my normal routine. My body will settle down and get back on the losing track.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!

Diana: I HATE being subjected to sub-standard coffee on vacation. :coffee2:

Kristi: Congrats on the whoosh! Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Vixsin: Hang in there, fluctuations are so annoying! If you're still sore from exercise you are still retaining fluid from exercise too.

rmc: A loss on your first day is a spectacular start. Remember not to gauge this process by day-to-results - long term results are what matters. Welcome!

Welcome to everyone who is new to the thread this month, and even new to the board. Good luck, good strength!

My results - a bounce today, up 1 pound from my current low, to 207. Not too concerned, fluctuations happen and I've been reasonably on plan. ETA: Hah! When I went to look at my numbers, I found the fluctuation happened yesterday and today I held steady. Even better!

Welcome to 2011 everyone! Glad to see all the new members, and it's inspiring to see all those committed to the challenge!

I'm down .4 from yesterday to 187. Not bad considering my holidays were way off target, but still in the 180's which puts me in a great position to continue my journey to the end :)

Happy new year everyone!

I have been seriously off the wagon and I'm up 7lbs from my lowest. It's alarming how quickly little exceptions lead to bigger ones and then complete days of off-plan eating. I'm hoping to find my focus again now, with the new year.

I'll be challenged because my mother (who lives in our basement) is moving to an afternoon shift; that means I'll be solely responsible for getting dinner on the table. It's good because I can control what we eat, but the challenge will be to stick to a plan when I get home late and just don't feel like cooking. I think my answer to this is to get the bbq tank filled; I love cooking on the grill and it's pretty fast too.

I see some of you have been hard at work and still did a great job over the holidays! Congratulations...you've inspired me to keep going, two on-plan meals for today, and one more coming up.

Still without my wii fit, so won't post a weigh in. Don't trust the other scales I seem to be able to wobble on them and get any weight I want !!!!! :goodscale:
That's wh I stayed true to my wii fit because I haven't found a way to manipulate its results !!
Nice to see everyone again. Lets DO THIS !!

Bit of a late starter but I also need some accountability. What I have observed so far is that I tend to stick more firmly and with less ado to my plan when weighing in daily.

My goal for January will be to lose 10 lbs. :)

01: 255
02: 255
03: 253
04: 255.3
05: 252.8 (-2.5 lbs, -2.2 lbs total) - must chalk it up mostly to using a different scale
06: 250.2 (-2.6 lbs, -4.8 lbs total) - well, same scale as yesterday, could it be defective?
07: 250.2 (-0.0 lbs, -4.8 lbs total)
08: Not done - I simply forgot :o
09: 250.0 (-0.2 lbs, -5.0 lbs total)
10: 248.2 (-1.8 lbs, -6.8 lbs total)
11: Not done - I forgot again :o
12: 249.1 (+0.9 lbs, -5.9 lbs total)
13: 247.5 (-1.6 lbs, -7.5 lbs total)
14: 246.9 (-0.7 lbs, -8.1 lbs total)
15: 246.7 (-0.2 lbs, -8.3 lbs total)
16: 246.2 (-0.5 lbs, -8.8 lbs total)
17: Note done - due to traveling
18: Note done - due to traveling
19: Note done - due to traveling
20: 244.0 (-2.2 lbs, -11 lbs total) - I am so happy! :)
21: 246.9 (+2.9 lbs, -8.1 lbs total) - What happened now?
22: 244.5 (-2.4 lbs, -10.5 lbs total)

Good Morning Everyone!

I had a lower calorie day yesterday since I haven't counted calories since Christmas Eve. I am glad to get back to my normal routine. I feel like I have more control over things. (it may not be true, but I can feel that way. ;))

Calories for yesterday: 1215 + :coffee2:

Hey folks -

Be careful with those numerical goals, folks! I find it better to make behavioral goals (stay on plan every day in January! hit the gym 4 times a week! that sort of thing) than numerical goals like "lose 10 pounds in January!" The behaviors are entirely within your control. The results - well, sometimes your body can be stubborn. So make your goal what you do, and let what you lose flow naturally from that.

As for me, another bounce today, biggest bounce I've had in a while, all the way up to 208. :( That's one pound up from yesterday, 2 up from my current low. Ah well. Fluctuations happen. Like I said, I'm focused on my plan, the results will come.

Carter, I hear what you're saying about being a slave to numbers, but for me at least, it works. I accept that there are going to be fluctuations beyond my control - TOM, time of weigh-in, heck, even whether my scale is sitting in the EXACT same spot on the bathroom floor! But it gets me out of bed in the morning. After a good day, I want to see those numbers and have a sense of accomplishment. And after a not-so-good day, I need to see that bounce to inspire me to get right back on plan. And after a good day, when I still see a bounce, I make sure I'm stocked up on sanitary supplies and nudge my scale back to its original location. :D

Have a great day everyone.

I've been 85% on plan this weekend, the scale will settle down. I have today's food with me here at work and already have supper planned. I am good.

I am going to the gym today for some C25K!! I'll be doing my modified W6D1 which will be warm up for 5, run for 12, walk for 3, run for 10, cooldown for 5. I am so excited!

1: 192.6 - 1 mile
2: 192.0 - 1.5 miles
3: 196 - WTH??

I am holding on to some serious water weight! Like Vixsin I am SUPER BLOATED too! Arrgh...my rings are so tight and I feel so gross!

Well it was a nice little break! I enjoyed myself and I am ready to be focused on my weight loss goals again!

I liked CutieCourt's posting about 365 miles in 2011 so much that I decided that would be my resolution for this year. 1 mile each day, if not anything else. 1 mile is 12 to 15 minutes for me depending if I am running or walking. I KNOW I can squeeze 15 minutes in for a mile everyday.

On the first day I almost forgot and was up doing my run at 11 pm! LOL...then last night I almost forgot from all the last minute preparations to get everyone back to school/work. I was dyeing my hair at 11 pm and realized that I hadn't put in my mile! So I was running at 11:30 last night with my hair piled on top of my head trying to get it in before midnight! lol....That's pretty committed, right? :)

Anyway, it is so good to be back at work and I look forward to being in my normal routine. I tried to be careful while at home, but the lack of exercise really set me back and now I am having to start 7lbs heavier. Although I can bet that I am retaining a good 4 lbs of water!

Hopefully I will get some movement back on the scale in the next couple of days.

It is good to be back! I better get moving, lots to do on my first day back at work!

Just a quick shout out to Ona....YOU LOOK FANTASTIC! I am so very happy for you! YAY! :)

And FitKristi...what the heck are you doing that you are knocking down the pounds? I am so motivated by your recent losses! Please share, I am dying here! :)

Have a great OP day everyone!

Happy New Year!! After a pretty terrible month, I am baaaccckkkk!!! As predicted December was stressful, but I made it out alive ;) I did however make my "goal" for the month - I started the month at 258, and wanted to stay until 260. Well on December 31st I was 256!! So I technically lost 2 pounds in December! :D

I have missed SO much, I can't believe the progress you all have made! Congrats :)

Well said! I'm guilty of this for sure! I set a goal of 15 pounds, end up losing a dress size and 10 pounds and feel like a failure. How silly! I'm trying to re-teach myself how to lose weight (also trying to get rid of the word "diet") and the number- thing is one of my biggest problems.

That being said, I am going to throw a freaking party when my scale shows me 1** which should be verrrrrry soon. Come on, onederland, I'm ready for ya!

Leah: Im glad you like the challenge! I hope it helps keep us on track. 7 miles average per week is very do-able and who knows, we may make it over 365!

Carter: I like having numberical goals, they help keep me on track. Without them I do not stay as accountable. I like to look at what I'm moving towards. I am not hard on myself and don't freak out if I don't make it:) I just try next time. I also track workouts and food intake, the # is just another addition to it all.

Whatever works for everyone :) No judgment intended - I just wanted to offer a different perspective to folks who might be new, and accustomed to "lose 10 pounds by my birthday!" sort of thinking. It's been very empowering for me to let go of numerical goals and focus on achievements I actually have control over - but I'll try to control the impulse to be evangelical about it. ;)

Wow, Kristi--219 to 212 in 3 days!! That's awesome no matter how you slice it :) Must make you feel good!!!

Ona-- I love the pics!! You look very good, and your hard work is shining through!!

Aimee-- Congrats on losing 2 pounds in December!!! You lost more than me! I lost .4, haha!

carter-- well said!! I totally agree. The numbers matter, but measuring your success in multiple ways is what is key. I may have only lost .4 in December, but I kept my splurges to 5 days rather than starting in November and ending in February like years past. I also ran a few times, including Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. TOTALLY an accomplishment!

Blairsey-- you're doing awesome in 2011!!! Keep up the great work!

Sea-- down is down and you are down!!

Leah-- no worries about that bounce up, you ran so late and your muscles probably held onto that water since you went to bed soon after. The fact is, you realized you forgot and didnt let the time of day hinder you!! I would have just tacked it onto the next day but not you!! That's fantastic commitment!

Lizz-- You are well on your way to losing that 10 pounds! Nice work!!

Rita-- You are so right about the sense of accomplishment! When I know I worked hard and stayed on plan and my body feels lighter, I am practically running to the scale to see my progress!

Diana-- wheww! You are doing amazing!! I cannot wait to get myself down to those numbers. They are so close, yet every time I get 1 pound away from the 70's, I go and screw it up!! I'm finding it harder to break through to new decades mentally. It's like I'm scared to get closer to goal. Weird..

Vixsin-- TOM is never fun and I always have the same result you do. But as soon as it leaves, I have my whoosh :)

As for me..up .4 back to 187.4. Had some popcorn (no butter) at the movies last night so I assume that's where it came from. Frustrating though because I ran 2.2 miles yesterday and stayed OP otherwise. Oh well..I'm back to traveling this week, so I expect some nice results on Friday evening when I get home!

Boo! My husband, who is home from work today, decided to surprise me by making lunch. He made relatively healthy things (chicken, roasted potatoes, steamed broccoli), but because I didn't do the cooking, I don't know how much of what he used, so I'm not sure how to count the calories. Plus, I KNOW he used some butter in there! :dizzy:

It was better than what we would have eaten last week, so I am going to make some very liberal guestimates (meaning, I'm going to guess on the high side) and just be grateful he's going back to work tomorrow!

And, most importantly, I'm not going to let it derail me for the rest of the day!

Probably isn't the right place to do it, but I thought I'd post my before/during photos here, since this is where I post most often! I'm down 90lbs today, so it was time for another progress pic!

Before:

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b264/mom2maggie/Before-1.jpg

and 90lbs later:

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b264/mom2maggie/010611-90lbs1.jpg

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b264/mom2maggie/010311-90lbs2.jpg

Started out squeezing into a size 24 jeans, sometimes a 26, and now the jeans I'm wearing in this photo are my immediately pre-Maggie (my 5 year old) jeans (a 15/16). I was wearing a 22/24, 26/28 shirt, and now I wear XL or sometimes L. CRAZY! I have just 1lb to go until my next mini goal, where I'll get my new point & shoot camera that we bought on Black Friday, and then I have 36lbs to go until my goal weight...for now! I'll re-evaluate my goal weight once I reach it.

Hi everyone!

I'm down 2.2 today and hopefully will hold onto that for tomorrow. I had an unplanned dinner at a friends place -- she made spaghetti and meatballs -- so I tried to eat mostly meatballs, and little pasta, but hey, I did eat some. Lots of water and wishing today and hopefully I'll get away without a gain for tomorrow.

Good Morning!

I am down .8 today so that feels nice. TOM is gone now so hopefully he'll take some of this water with him!! I had a beautifully OP day yesterday and let me tell you it felt so good to be eating my own healthy cooking and doing my normal measuring and such. It felt good to be back in that routine. I will be OP today too. (take THAT, scale!)

Had a GREAT workout last night! C25K is really rocking my world! I did a modified Week 6. I warmed up for 5, ran for 12, walked for 3, ran for 10, and cooled down for 5. It was amazing!!! Friday is the big 25 min run. I am nervous but SO ready for the challenge! I am glad today is my off day, my left knee is a tad achy today.

finally down under 180 again to 179. Still off from my ticker, don't really know what's going on with me to be honest, stressed out to the point TOM is all irradic, but I'll deal with that as it goes.
LOTS of sore muscles though - Holy crap! Got the Bob Harper Inside Out Method DVD set . . . . you may think he's all nice and sweet, the man is the devil in carnet I swear. He will kick your *** more than Jillian. Love it, but MAN are my muscles sore . . . . still - but at least I know they are being worked :) :)

Ona - Check you out all sexy in your pics! Way to go lady!!

Vix - Missed you too! I love the "My scale does not scare me"

Aimee - Happy 2010 is over, you and me both. Congrats on the loss for december :)

Kristi - Congrats on hitting that 90 lb mark, you are amazing!!

Angie - 2.4 is fanastic! Way to go and keep going :) :) Can't wait to see the pics!

Leah - You're def going in the right direction, are you doing a running program at all or just running in general?

Good Morning Ladies!

1: 192.6 - 1 mile
2: 192.0 - 1.5 miles
3: 196 - WTH?? 1 mile Leslie Sansone in my office + 2 mile run @ 3.6 = 3 miles
4: 192 -

Woo hoo! I am down! Whoosh! :) I am still feeling bloated, but I feel a heck of a lot better than yesterday!

Vixsin - .8 gone! Yay! I am with Coondocks with loving your comment "I trust this process. I am making the right choices. My scale does not scare me." How powerful is that??? AWESOME ATTITUDE!! I might even have to print that out and put it where I can see it all day! :) I am rooting for you on your big day! I know you can do it! I always feel like I can't do it until I get to about 1/2 mile into my run...then I get a surge of energy and I am going strong- that is a great feeling! Update with how your run went!

Ona- Thanks for the support! You are such a sweetie! Have you been able to run lately? I know it was helping you a lot last month!

Diana- I am hanging in there! For sure those "blips" make me really crazy and impatient but like Vixsin said "I trust this process". Thats what I need to keep in mind all day long! Thanks for your encouragement!

Coondocks- I am glad to see you back here!! So you ready for this new year? I saw your post about taking a break, I took one too and I am so energized again! I am off from my ticker too, but heck no -I am NOT changing it! :) I am just gonna work my tushie off to get back to it! That dvd sounds really hard. I recently bought JM's 30 day shred and I did that two days last week and it was really tough, but like you said, I was sore the next day in places I hadn't been before, so I know I worked muscles that had been neglected before. I think I am gonna continue to use it as supplement to my running. I am not on any formal program. I have done the C25K and I completed it. Now I just sorta run however I want. But I made a resolution to run at least 1 mile a day for the whole year and so far so good! I was doing walk/jog/run intervals for 60 minutes and up, but they got really tedious and took too long. With five kids and a busy house, I was stressing too much to get it all in. I think 30 minutes is more manageable for now! Whew, I had a lot to say, huh? :p tee hee

Swimgirl- Aimee, YAY, you are back! It is good to see you again too! Now that the retail season craziness has ended somewhat, what are your plans for this month (meal and exercise)? I hope this is a good year for us!

Hmmm...we are missing Kukkie lately, I hope she can post and come back to play with us soon! Anyone hear from her lately?

Welcome to the new members! :welcome2:

Hope everyone has a OP day!

Hugs,
Leah

Hello folks! Just a quick visit for me today, hope everyone is doing well.

I'm back down to my current low of 206 - yesterday's bounce was just that. In fact the scale teased me this morning, pretending to settle on 205 before hopping up at the last second. So maybe a new low tomorrow ...

Well, despite eating some pasta, and CAKE, yesterday I lost another 3lbs overnight...must be the water loss with being back on plan. I may not deserve it, but I'll take it. :D

Kristi - Congratulations on your 2.4! Like you I don't understand my loss, but I'm really happy about it!

Diana - thanks! How have things been going with your allergies, did you narrow down the cause at all?

Starbrite - Hi!! Did you get any cool new clothes over the holidays?

Sea - Congrats your your .4!

Vixsin - Congrats on your .8 -- I agree it is a relief to be back to normal and routine. Love your affirmation! I trust this process. I am making the right choices. My scale does not scare me.

Ona -- Thanks! :sumo: :D

Rita - Thanks! Congrats on your exercise yesterday..that's one thing I have to get better at.

Coondocks -- Way to go on your workouts, that scale will get back to normal now that the holidays are over. Are you still doing steak salads for lunch? Yum!

Leah - Awesome whoosh, and well deserved...you're doing so great with your running!

Carter - Way to go on getting back to your low weight!

I actually have a steak salad today for lunch ha ha! Been a awhile since I've had one, or the time to prep everything for it. It's taunting me already, nice rare steak, field greans with some extra veg, nice mediteranian dressing . . . . . yumm

One of my goals was to get into that dress on Christmas Eve.I have kept it since 95' when i weighed 234.(cause it was so pretty and expensive)only wore it once, gained weight so fast, never had the chance to wear it again until now! and now, it's too big!!! :D:

Wow! We are getting busy here. It is so hard to keep up with everyone. Apologies if I miss someone. It's not intentional.

Vixsin Great job on the .8. I was glad to get back to my routine, too.

Ona I hear you, steady and focused.

Rita Sometimes we have those days. Keep at it.

Coon Congrats on your pound.

Lnoelparis Dang, 4 pounds! Great job! Are you sodium sensitive?

Carter You are getting so close to Onederland, now.

Angie Congrats on the 3 pounds! Yep, I narrowed it down. Unfortunately it appears I am allergic to shellfish. I'm not sure about fish yet. The last time I took regular glucosamine, I flared up within 30 minutes. I have since changed over to vegetarian glucosamine. We live on the coast and I love seafood. I used to eat it 3-4 times a week. :( I am still having small flare ups, though. Right before Christmas I went into a Japanese Steakhouse to purchase a gift card. They cook and serve grilled shrimp to everyone that eats there. It's cooked on tables in front of you. They also have a full (very large) sushi bar. I could smell the shrimp when I walked in. The lady also brought the gift card from the back. So, I don't know if it effected me from just walking in there, but I flared up from that. I also flared up when we were out of town. (that's probably why I haven't lost recently. my lips are a little flared up, too.) DH ordered some fried oysters on New Years Eve. He drank out of a water bottle when we left the restaurant and I finished off the water. I don't know if I had a reaction to the oysters being at the same table as me, me drinking after DH, or if there was a cross contamination in the kitchen. They also had a grilled lobster special. I had a grilled steak. This whole thing has been very frustrating. At least I am not flaring up as severe as it was. I would literally gain 3 pounds overnight and would have severe facial/lip swelling. I am trying my best to stay away from seafood, but it's difficult because it's all of our (Mom, DH, and my) favorite food.:(

Vix- week 6! Woohoo! Which day are you on? I did w6.d1 yesterday and it was so busy at the track! I had NEVER seen so many people out there. I have been running on a treadmill and thought I'd try outside to see what the difference was in my pace and such. That 8 min felt like eternity yesterday..but I didn't stop. I can't believe we start our long runs soon!!!!

Everyone should come join us in our 365 miles in 365 days challenge!

On the the weigh-in. The evil TOM monster should be hitting any day now. I'm retaining water like a camel!!! LOL! My humps my humps my lovely lady lumps. Bahahaha. (it's weird I gained gained exactly 1lb in water) I've been on point with my calories and exercise, so I know that's not it.n

Coondocks -- Thanks :) I had a salad with chicken today and thought of you, and wished it were steak. How about this...spinach leaves with rare steak, roasted veggies and a teensy tiny dab of goat cheese? OMG...I'm salivating.

Hi Matilda  welcome back!

Diana - Good that you know what it is. It sounds pretty frustrating, and a little scary that you've had reactions from seemingly small exposure. Will you carry an epi-pen now, just in case of accidental contamination? I'm sad for you that it's something you really enjoyed in the past!

Thanks Ona! I did well today in my choices, so I hope yesterday will still not catch up with me :)

Watched the new season of The Biggest Loser tonight, I love this show. BTW is anyone going to do the BL New Year challenge in the exercise thread this round? You have until Friday to sign up if you're interested.

so, last night i indulged in a king size kit kat :(
of course it showed on this morning weigh in.
but, I'm still super happy I'm out of the horrible 270's.
i was teatering on the edge of 280 so that jumpstarted my weight loss.

love those before and during pictures, can't wait to get some good during shots.

i checked my measurements and I've dropped 5 inches in a month!!!

Good Morning, Everyone!

Angie I don't have anaphylactic shock, I just swell. Is an epi-pen only for shock? I don't really know. The other frustrating thing is that I don't react immediately (with the glucosamine product I did). I can react up to 48 hours later, depending on the exposure. I am just starting month end/year end close out at work. I will see how it goes. I might go to a allergist when I finish up. I just hate going there and them telling me what I already know. :o

rmc9142 Yep, I just got back. I still exercised every day while I was away and "watched" what I ate. I didn't count calories, just tried to make decent decisions. It did make me aware of something. Although I did well, and didn't gain much, if I want to be successful at this lifestyle change, I will have to count calories and be proactive with this for the rest of my life. It does not come natural for me. I think scheduling your workouts are a great idea.

Aww Coon! We posted at the same time! :)

I run on a treadmill. If you can do incline walking at a quick speed on one, you can run. It is so great. I go at a slow pace. It's much more of a jog than a run. It definitely feels great. I'm really digging it.

I’m up one pound this morning, but I think it’s from my pasta/cake break on Monday night. I’ve been on track before & after that so I’m not too worried about it.

Question of the day for everyone -- Do you have any rewards or treats planned for yourself at certain milestones? Have you bought many new clothes, do you buy much for each size, where do you get them?

Diana -- Morning! Congrats on your 1.2  I think you’re right, the pen is just for anaphylactic shock, I was only thinking what if your reaction evolved to worse than swelling? I might be off-base, but I thought that sometimes happens. I don’t mean to worry you unnecessarily. I think the allergist is a good idea though, even if just so you can learn what other sources might be that are not obvious, or about the progression of allergies.

Kristi -- Great job! There are always plenty of tougher times for weight loss, so just enjoy this part, it’s not often we get those big whooshes days in a row.

Carter -- Congrats on your new low!

Ona -- Yippie!!! Way to go on your pound…how exciting to go places you’ve never gone before!

Coondocks - Congrats on your loss! Enjoy the salad 

Vixsin -- Sounds like you’re doing the right things, so don’t worry too much, it’s going to come off soon.

Matilda -- Great, I’ll hopefully see you over on TBL threads too then! It would be nice if we could end up on the same team.

I *hope* throughout this journey I can get in a habit of running at least 3 times a week...long term goal: run a marathon! It's on my bucket list..23 miles is alot though:)

Vix: that sounds great!! You did way more than 6.1 asked! You go girl!! I will do 6.2 today, since it is raining here I'm going to get it done on a treadmill. I don't have anaphylactic shock, I just swell. Is an epi-pen only for shock? )

The epi pen is to be used only for anaphylactic shock. But saying that, please remember that allergic reactions CAN get worse over time and exposure, plus there are many factors that happen in the body that can make even 1 time worse than another.

If you are having swelling from an allergen, you should talk to your doctor about possibly being prescribed an epi pen.

I carry one around because I experience the same symptoms as you with strawberries. I stay away from them now, but I'm leary of any other food in the Berry family.

Angie & Shylah You know, I was curious about the possibility of it getting worse. At least I have an idea of what it is now and can stay away from ingesting it. The problem seems to be cross contamination and/or someone around me consuming shell fish. I think it is a good idea to seek out an allergist. Thanks for the link and your posts.

Coon Thank you. Great job!

Vixsin It's just one of our daily challenges. Stay focused.

Matilda Thank you. You are back on track now. You can do this.

Angie I bought clothes every other size or every 2 sizes. I would buy 3 pairs of pants. My shirts are cheaper so I would buy as many as I wanted. My clothes in general are not expensive, so it wasn't bad financially to do it this way. I didn't really do rewards.

So life is crazy . . . I have once again taken myself off of my priority list. I'm not drinking enough water, I am eating too many carbs and not enough protein - back to whatever is easy, back to not exercising. I cancelled my gym membership because I just can't afford it and I'm not exercising at home either - it's too cold to go outside and my daughter and grandsons moved in with me so I'm spending my evenings playing with babies and trying to maneuver through all the toys and baby gear we've added to my little house (not complaining - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE having them here). I've got to put myself back on my priority list before I undo all the hard work I've done. I would say I've officially gained at least 5-7 lbs (some of that I'm sure is water weight).

Phew! You guys are hard to keep up with!

Diana - sorry to hear about your reactions, it's even worse when you love it! Josh has an allergy to certain seafood as well, we have to be careful at restaurants, and going to one of those places that cooks everything on the same grill is out of the option. On the plus side, 168! Wow!!

kristi - WOWSERS lady!! Bottle some of that water and share ;)

carter - congrats on your new low :)

Ona - Congrats to you too on the new low!! You are doing so amazing with this journey, you are a constant inspiration! And a runner now too! There is nothing stopping you!

Rita - you are doing pretty amazing - 2 pounds is a GREAT start to the year and month!!

Coondocks - Woohoo!!

Vixsin - I'm impressed with the running! I tried C25K and just couldn't manage to get past week 3!

Matilda - That's not too bad! Likely some of that is water weight and you'll be back to 222 in no time!!

Angie - I always think about rewards, but I never follow through. But I do own a lot of really nice clothes from when I was on my way up to this weight, so it'll be a reward to be able to wear them again! I think I stopped investing in clothes when I hit 245, so I have a ton of nice stuff to wear once I get back there, can't wait! What about you?

CutieCourt - how are you doing with the water? That is always my downfall, drinking enough water. Must make it a priority! Congrats on the C25K!!

Lnoel - great to see the little gain go away, and it took a friend with it! :)

Kris - it's so hard to make yourself a priority with so much going on, but you are here! So that's a great start! Maybe start with the food so that you can have baby time at night still? You know how to do this!

As for me? Got on the scale for the first time in a week and I'm down 1.3 to 254.9. I was shocked since I am feeling heavier, and even more so since I woke up with a migraine and I always seem to gain with those. Who knows! But I'm going with it!

Wow, it's really buzzing in here!

I've been on and off really sick over the past couple of weeks, so between that and all the holiday stuff I haven't been tracking my eating habits or exercising, although there was a couple of days of some intense all day walking/shopping trips on non-sick days. I'm now on day 10 of what I thought was just the flu, but I can't get in to see my doctor until tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed that it's not anything horrible. I'm anxious to get back into the groove of things, because I'm just so tired of being sick. I was however, pleasantly surprised to get on the scale this morning for the first time in 3 or 4 weeks and see that I didn't gain! I may not have lost anything, but I didn't gain. So 195.1 for me, which means still at my ticker weight! I'm not officially jumping back on track yet, just trying to focus on getting and staying healthy first. Just wanted to pop in and say hi to all of you ladies!

Leah thanks for thinking of me! and Ona your before and after is just fabulous, congratulations! to everyone else - so glad to see you ladies doing so well :)

SwimGirl: It's good to see you too! :) Thanks about the running. It has really re-introduced itself to me again. I love how it makes me feel.

Ona: I'm gonna take a lil bit of what you said to Kris too, ok? ;) I love that positive energy!

My calories are a little higher than usual coming in at around 1700. But it could be much worse. I was also thinking of re-checking my BMR because weighing in at 220 is much different than weighing in at 250. And I'm much more active now with doing C25K. I'll let you guys know what I find out.

I didnt get to run tonite. I did something minor to my knee. I was dancing around my kitchen as I am prone to do and I stepped wrong and now I've got some pain. I've had it before and I know that I need to rest my knee. So I broke out my set of Bob Harper's new DVD's. I did the Yoga one. He's got a 15 minute ab workout. HOLY COW!!! That is an intense 15 mins. I will definitely do that again! I still feel it in my abs.

So while I am resting my knee, I am going to get started in the Yoga/Pilates world. I always dread core work. No time like the present, right?

Aimee, Diana -- I've bought a few things in my new size...I have about 3 pairs of pants for work, 1 pair of jeans and 2 leggings. I buy stuff with lycra in it so that I can buy it kind of tight and it will last me longer, through 2 sizes or so. I haven't had to buy many new shirts as they seem to last through more sizes - at least they don't fall off when they get too big. I haven't done much for rewards yet. I don't want to do any food related rewards, and money is a little tight right now, so I'd like to think of small things that will bring me lots of joy for certain milestones. I'll have to come up with something good for when I get to Onederland :) -- I think I'll get a pedicure when I get to 50lbs, which will hopefully be next week!

Diana3271

Angie I did buy my clothes a little tighter than I would normally be comfortable with. I also did this so I could stay in them longer. I think a manicure/pedicure is a good idea. I agree about staying away from food rewards. Not a good thing. That's what got us in trouble in the first place. ;)

Haven't been here in a long time (again, *sigh*)! Doing okay here. Busy with work, kids, etc. My mom bought me a Wii Fit, and I've been having a lot of fun with it. Starting WW at work in a couple weeks! So excited that it is being offered there :)

Morning lovely chickies :dancer:
Down 2.9 to 192.7 ! Yay! My I survived my enforced non-weigh-in. Bit disconbobulated that it doesn't weigh in pounds, as I have to do a conversion. I really need the motivation that comes with seeing those small losses (and gains) that have really helped. Nintendo were most unhelpful ! Tough luck they said - you have to weigh in kilos (2.2lbs) or in stones (14) grrrrrrrrrrr
Anyhow looking forward to getting out of obese and into the 180's :D
You are doing so great people.
Diana- I'd be devastated to be allergic to shellfish! Please remember there is also shellfish in many products, check your labels carefully
Vixsin - you seem to be burning hot with your exercise recently :) What's the secret to that?
Ona - Really nice to see you moving on down- you and Kristi will be in Onederland before you know it :)
Angie- I did but a few clothes in Uk, three party dresses to be precise  Before I would not have worn a dress, now you can't keep me out of them !! I also bought a denim mini- my DH likes that one  Seriously though it's hard. I live in the land of extremely expensive clothing. A pair of Levis here cost around $ 150. The last pair I bought in Us cost me $10. Go figure ! I'm desperate for jeans.
MamaP- go back to the beginning, go back to where you felt right back then, remember YOU REALLY MATTER ! Sending you positive thoughts to get right back on track.

Down: 1 pound

Aimee Hi  Welcome Back! Great job on the new low!

Kukkie Hi

sakk Hi and Welcome to the thread!

Starbrite Great job on the 2.9 pounds! It has been a huge change for me and the family. We have always eaten a lot of seafood. We have had to make even more changes to our way of eating. Not fun. I hear you on the shellfish being in other products. Now, there is sea salt in everything. I read yesterday that there are microscopic shellfish in sea salt. I read that a lot of people have problems with sea salt. Who would have thought about that? :dunno:

Good morning folks! :coffee:

So many new folks in the thread this month, it's wonderful. I will try to say hello to you all today - apologies for anyone I miss.

OnaMi: big hugs and congratulations on that new low.

rmc: hang in there and trust your plan. I often go as much as a week without seeing a budge on the scale - or longer.

SparrowSings: welcome and good strength!

Coondocks: Awesome new low!

Vixsin: Sorry about the fluctuation. :( Keep at it!

Matilda: You can work off the holidays! Good strength.

Angie: great attitude! that pound will come back off soon.

Sea: congrats on the loss.

Lanee: hang in there and trust your plan, it will come off.

Cutie: You look like a runner to me. ;) :D

Lnoel: great job on the run and on the loss!

MamaP: you'll get back on it. Good strength!

Kukkie: welcome back, and I hope you feel better soon.

SwimGirl: those new lows are pretty cool aren't they? I cling to mine - I'm currently at my lowest since 2004, it's pretty groovy.

sakk: welcome and good strength!

Starbrite: SUPER loss today.

Diana: Great job on the loss. :coffee2:

phew! I think that's everyone who posted since I posted yesterday - again apologies if I missed anyone!

As for my report: I seem to be in the middle of a whoosh right now, yay! 204, another new low. I am delighted but a little wary - going back to the gym this week has made me hungry, and I've been nibbling a little more than I should in the evenings. I am hoping that in a week or two I'll get accustomed to the regular exercise and stop feeling the urge to do this.

I stayed within my calories yesterday, ate a good low-cal breakfast today (I usually skip that meal) and walked for 30 minutes on the treadmill.

1/05: 260.5
1/06: 259.5

Starbrite: You're knocking on the door to the 180's. I wonder if you will open it quietly or kick that sucker down....

Diana: Sea salt? Really? Holy Lobster bisque, Batman --- I never would have thought about that as a possible cause for an allergy attack. (Sorry you have a vested interest in knowing this stuff --- a sea food allergy would be really lousy.)

Carter: YAY on that whoosh, baby! Hard work pays off again! Thank you for being a good example for all us newbies.

FitKristi: Oh, my. You are standing at the threshold of ONEderland. And we all know that today's temporary gain is just a scheme to trick some pounds into complacency so you can dodge past them and zip into those great new numbers. GO, GO, GO!

Laneebm: I don't think 10 pounds in 4 weeks is all that slow! Tossing carbs and sugar to the curb is certainly working for you --- keep up the good work!

CutieCourt: That's a lot of water, kiddo! Do you slosh when you move? Do you have little fishies swimming in the whites of your eyes? If you tip your head to the side, does water come out of your ear? LOL --- I am still in the "maybe I should drink a SECOND glass of water" stage, so 88 ounces is hard to imagine. Good work, aquagirl!

OnaMi: Another day moving in the right direction. It's amazing how a day full of one good choice at a time can add up to a week of good numbers on the scale that can then add up to lovely new dress sizes and a sassy swing in your step. You are making it happen!

(Hello to anyone I missed and everyone have a good Thursday!)

When i started to exercise more,i had to up my calorie intake,it hasn't effected my losing but i got my eyes on it :)

This is where I am at too, I think. I looked up my BMR and I listed myself as moderately active (3-5 days a week). My calorie needs came out to be about 1700 on days I don't work out and 2400 on days that I do. Now I'm a little confused. Does that mean I should be eating at least 1700 per day now? Does anyone have a handle on this part of the numbers game? I need some clarification. It's really confusing me.

Anyway, I am down 1 lb today to 222. I've got a good food day planned and am going to try to get in some Pilates tonight after my son goes to bed. I'd like to get in at least 20 mins. I was on plan yesterday and I will be again today.

I'm up 1.8 today. What?? Okay, not panicking, things will go my way soon....tomorrow even!

It's my DS's bday today, but I will not have cake :) We are going out for dinner but to a place that makes it really easy for me to stay on plan. I'm not eating anything but lettuce and veggies until then.

Good morning everyone! Congratulations to all of todays losers, I hope to join you tomorrow :) :)

Starbrite - I love dresses too, but there are not that many cute ones in bigger sizes...I've been online shopping for future dresses lately. If you ever want me to pick you up some jeans and ship them to you just let me know, I'd be happy to do it. Woot, Woot! Another pound today! Thank goodness, I hope this is a trend that sticks all month. I need to get past this "bump" I have been stuck in for the past two months. I decided to take my measurements yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. My waist is 34 inches! YAY! down from about 40 inches in July!

Another two NSV's....I can wear my original wedding band! I almost cried yesterday from the joy that gave me! And I tried on a Liz Clairborne jacket/blazer that I loved to wear in college...we are talking 1990 here...and IT FITS ME, especially MY FREAKIN' ARMS! I couldn't even put my arm in it before because it squeezed like a vice or a blood pressure cuff! I need to take it to the cleaners and getting it ready to be worn! woo hoo! Seriously enjoying these small victories a lot today!

Carter - Excellent loss!

Ona- Yippee...another step closer, my friend! I am so happy to hear about your new low and that you are still plugging away at your running!

Vixsin - I hope your knee mends in time for your big run! :)

Court - Whoa, that is a lot of water! I have been pushing the water too this month. I think I do about about the same come to think of it. I have one of those 16 oz Starbucks tumblers that I drink at brekky, snack, lunch, and at 3:30. Then I have a huge 64 oz cup of ice water after running and another one of herbal tea before bed.

Sparrow - Welcome and great job on your 1 lb loss! I wish I had time to run on my treadmill in the morning, that would energize me alot! Too bad I love to sleep to the last minute! hehehehe

Laneebm- I would take 10 lbs in a month! Heck I would take 10 lbs in the last two months! (I lost nothing in Nov and Dec!) You are doing great! Keep it up!

Coondocks and Aimee- Awesome news on your new lows! Hurray! What a good feeling!

Matilda - Hey lady! Glad to see you didn't do so much damage after the holidays! Glad to see you and I know you will be back on track soon!

Diana- Congrats on your loss and I am sorry to hear about your allergy. I LOVE anything seafood, not being able to eat it would be so hard for me! :hugs:

Kris- I am glad to see you posting! I wondered how you were doing. Sounds like you are starting to get back in the game. Take it one day at a time. Making yourself a priority is what you need to do...I don't like to see you so down and conflicted, my friend! C'mon, I have an extra Leslie Sansone dvd I can mail you...its fun and it will get you moving...only takes 15 minutes! :) What ya say? :)

Thanks for the welcome back ladies. I still feell like crap, but now I know why. Went to the doctor this morning and it turns out whatever I had morphed into a viral infection and I'm now on antibiotics, so according to my doctor I should start feeling human again in 48-72 hours. I miss my workouts, which I haven't been able to do because I can't remember the last time I went 10 minutes without hacking up a lung.

I did however decide to step on the scale today, not because I thought any movement may have happened, but just to get back into the habit. I was pleasantly surprised to see 193.3 a drop of 1.8 lbs which I totally credit with not eating enough lately because of the swollen throat. I expect to see a bounce back tomorrow, but as soon as the meds kick in, I'm ready to kick *** again. I watched the BL premiere the other day and it really disturbed and inspired me.

Vixsin I'm happy to be back and missed you ladies as well. Guess what?! I stayed totally smoke-free during the holidays and am actually just 11 days shy of 4 months! Can you believe it?!

Morning lovelies!
Up 0.4 today - a bit surprised as I was an excellent chickie yesterday, and drank water for Europe! Perhaps I'm retaining some?
Ho hum. Had a real heart to heart with my DS yesterday who finally confessed he wanted to lose some weight. He's watched me from the sidelines, and sees how successful I've been. Anyhow the upshot was that I told both my kids about how much I used to weigh and my weight now. Rather liberating, as before no-one knew my weight. This journey just keeps changing!

Yesterday I was the same 177.2 and no WI for me this morning.
Had Christmas dinner (Ukrainian) last night, I made the best choices I could given what I had to work with, but basically the best choice was SMALL portions. Fried fish, starch, starch and a little more starch on the side.
I feel like CRAP today, didn't get in my AM workout, I opted for the extra 45 minutes of sleep, which didn't even help much.

Vix - is it odd that I'm happy to hear i'm not the only one that thinks Bob's DVD set is intense? Sweet and friendly my butt . . . he's evil :P

I am down .4 this morning to 221.6. Still really really sore from Bob Harper's ab workout the other day. It's ok. It feels kinda good. My knee also feels better. Today is another day of rest and if I feel up to it, I'm going to try my 25 min run on Sat. Endurance wise, I have no doubt that I can run that long. None.

Going to really try to get some structured Pilates or Yoga in today. I'm hoping for that today. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!

Coon: You are not kidding! That is the whole reason I got them. On the Yoga one, his little 15 ab workout is no joke! I made it through but only barely and I had to rest at times in between. I love him. I think this, combined with C25K, is going to be just the amp up that my workout needs. Which one have you started?

I've got the whole set, haven't tried the Yoga yet - but after hearing the 15 minute one is intense I think i'll throw that down tonight. I need some major core work I'm noticing.
I've made it through the 30 minutes of both cardio and strength. I made the mistake of trying the full hour Strength, made it 35 minutes threw.
WOW. The man is not kidding at all with his work outs. But what I love about them, is that he IS so motivating in it, its intense but still manages to keep it light hearted.
Have you read his book? I have to say - best book I've ever read. Completely changed my outlook on everything, love that the first third of it is focused on the mental aspect. Learning to love who you are NOW before you can succesfully change. I can on and on about it :p
Im having a serious love/hate relationship with him ha ha . . . . Shaun may get jealous ;)

OMG Coon!!! I totally bought his book and have read it 3 times. I re-read the whole first part about the mental and getting out of your head and stuff when I need a refresher. That man has changed my life. I am a devoted follower. I've got the whole set too. I'm going to try the hour Yoga tonite. I don't know if I'm going to make it but I'm sure going to try. I dont want to overdo it because I want to be ready for my run tomorrow.

I love how tough it is. It helps to keep my fire lit because it's really challenging me. We'll have to keep each other posted on how things go. I'm anxious to hear what you think about the 15 min abs. (mine are still sore. LOL) The only hint I'm giving is that I can't wait until we can knock out those plank interval things with the knee like they are NOTHING! :high:

Surprised... Weighed in this morning at 192.5 down 0.8 from yesterday. I'm convinced that I'm going to see a bounce back as soon as the antibiotics kick in and I'm feeling better. I feel semi-human today, so I think they're starting to work. I'm so glad that I'm able to work from home otherwise I'd be so damn behind, especially coming back from the holidays.

I'm going to echo Kris in saying that it's time to rejoin the ranks, so forgive me if I miss anyone.

Sea congrats on making it halfway to your goal. What an incredible accomplishment! :bravo:

starbrite I'm glad to hear you were able to talk about your before weight. It really puts things in perspective. Look at you being an inspiration to your kids, that's great.

Coondocks - I'm officially glad we aren't celebrating Ukrainian Christmas after reading about all the food! I had to get gas this morning, omg... sooooooo cold!!

Diana, Kristi, Ona - Keep fighting, don't let the little gain get you down, you are all doing AMAZING!

Vixsin - congrats on your .4! I used to do the Jillian workouts, but they got tooo hard on the days when I was tired, so I've gone back to WATP. Although I am sure I'm going to regret that when I hear how many inches you are losing!

Kris - you are inching in the right direction! :)

Sea - yahooo!!! Congrats!! :carrot:

Kukkie - I always seem to gain with antibiotics, but here's hoping you don't!! Glad you are feeling better! It's warmed up here a little, so -28! Still too cold!

No weigh in for me this morning, I woke up, made my lunch and was drinking TONS of water the entire time which would mean a gain on the scale.. so I avoided it.

Kukkie: We're talking about Bob Harper's book "Are you ready?" It's amazing. When I read it, I could hear Bob's voice in my head. He really knows what he's talking about. He puts it all in perspective. At least he did for me. Don't get me wrong, I still struggle, but it's getting easier to get back to the straight and narrow. To remember why and re-light that fire. That's how it is for me anyway. :)

Aimee: Thanks. I don't know about the inches yet. I just know I need to amp up my workouts and I knew Bob's workouts would do just that. My abs are seriously sore but I'll be right back at it once they are better. I will conquer that 15 minutes! LOL

Kukkie - I can not rave enough about his book, honestly, I haven't even read through the eating/exercise portion. Vix is right, it literally spoke to me and I could relate to what he was talking about. The part that sticks out most with me has been realizing that the anger or hurt I carry around because some one has said or done something hurtful - it needs to go. It is only holding me back, it's only hurting me and when you think about it, it's not about you - it's about what's lacking with them. Forgive and move on. Snow though . . . we really don't have that much at all in comparison to other years.
And yes, its effing cold in Winnipeg, I'm really not going to miss it. 76 days to go, just throwing that out there. :D :D

Vix - Im pumped for the yoga now :) I think we need to make a Bob's Brigade thread ha ha.

Aimee - I feel so blech from dinner last night. I know the tradition and importance behind every dish, but really . . . my body can not handle even the small portions I ate. Typical Grandma though, tried putting extra food on my plate :p

Star - I think you're doing an incredible thing for your child. That's so fantastic you two have that open honest communication. Kudos :)

Starbrite Great job on the .9. Just make the best choices you can while you are away. If you have to chose a bad option, just have less of it. Double up on the things that are in you plan. Try to get in some extra exercise. Skiing should blast some calories, for sure. Heck, if you watch it, you might come back weighing less! How about that? Think positive! You can do it.

I should theoretically lose weight as ski-ing is mighty active, and I also do lots of walking. I just don't know if I am ready to face the temptations :dizzy: I have been so focused and single minded in my approach to food over the last 9 months, I guess the control freak in me doesn't like putting my nutrition into the hands of a catering team who have to fill 250 hungry, ski-ing kids!! Morning friends!

I didn't record this mornings weigh in because I already drank a bunch of water. I'm all puffy and feeling kind of gross this morning...too much sodium yesterday.

I'd like to say I really have the hang of this whole thing by now, but I have to be honest with you and with myself, I really don't. I still am having trouble getting back on track, and I thought it would be easy post-holidays. I struggle with making the right decisions every day, and at every meal, right now. It was easy when I was focused and in the swing of things, but I just can't seem to get 'that feeling' back. I can remember every good reason I'm doing this, and remind myself how great it has felt to get here, but I still make crappy choices that don't move me closer to my goal.

That said, I'm not giving up. I'm still making great decisions sometimes, and that's a start. I'm on track for today, so I'll try to make this one whole 'clean' day.

Vixsin & Coondocks -- I have Bob's book on audio for my iPod, but I haven't listened to it in the year I've had it! I'll make that a priority...it sounds like it's pretty motivating and maybe it'll help me find my weightloss mojo again.

Have a great Saturday everyone!!

Eclipse Is the old BP med going to be ok for you? That stuff is frustrating. I know you feel better getting that 2 pounds of fluid off.

Yeah, it will be fine for blood pressure. I only switched because a different med was supposed to help with some PCOS symptoms as well as control blood pressure. But between the water I was retaining and the exhaustion, it just wasn't worth it.

I'm down another .6 lbs this morning - which brings me to 40% of my total weight lost! :carrot::carrot::carrot: My new mini-goal ticker? It's not for a mini-goal! It's for the goal weight I set when I started this back in September of 2009! I might revise that once I get to it - but it's pretty thrilling to be just a little more than 20 lbs from goal :)

Coon and Vixsin - you ladies have me pumped to read this book. I just went on my local library's website and they have it available so I'm going to try and get it in the next day or so. Who can't use a little extra motivation? Especially after being sick for almost a month!

Kukkie: That makes me super excited! Bob's book is so great. He really does know his stuff. He says all the right things and even some of the wrong ones that we already know he's right and just don't want to admit it! It always helps me with my motivation. You'll love it!

Oh . . . My . . . . God.
I wanted to throw my yoga mat at Bob after 3 minutes!!
Crazy intense but there's no doubt at all that he knows his stuff.
The plank interval knee things . . you better believe I'll be throwing myself a party when I can do those :D :P

Wow :dizzy:

OOOOHHHH Yeahh!!!! I told ya. I couldn't do it all either. I didn't make it to Bob's yoga class last night. I'm going to try the first little bit of it tonight before The Boy Toy comes over.

But seriously, isn't it awesome?!

Morning friends!

Wow Angie!! It's like you're talking about me right there too! I did great from Halloween to Turkey Leg right up to Christmas. It seems like New Years I kind of faltered a bit and am now having trouble getting into the swing again. I know exactly what you are talking about when you say "that feeling". I am wanting it back too. We'll both get there!

Oh and let me tell you, I would LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVEEEE to have Bob reading his book to me in my headphones! WOW!! :D

Hello friends, still sick yesterday, still eating too much bread and rice and noodle soup. :dizzy: And not moving AT ALL.

Had a little bounce today, up 1 to 205. Not too concerned, as long as I get the eating back under control as I start to feel better.

Good morning everyone. I've been AWOL these last few days after struggling with the start of this whole thing. In the past, I've never had a problem with the start of a diet, just sticking to it. That I was struggling so much really made me question if I could do this right now. So, I dialed it back for a few days, didn't obsess over it and I'm happy to say that I pretty much stuck to plan anyway. I'm doing great with the water, good with the eating, and better (but not yet good) with the exercise. And that's ok; it's certainly a step in the right direction.

I've read through these last pages and you ladies continue to inspire me. Congrats on all of your successes, especially the running accomplishments! I'm going to get Bob's book (and read it on the treadmill!). And Sea, I love your idea of rewarding yourself with a bike and think I'll set that as a goal.

Diana - you are nearing your next goal! Congrats :)

kristi - gotta have a little conversation with your scale, stop bouncing!! You are still having a REALLY fabulous month!! :D

carter - I wouldn't worry either, it's just a temporary gain from being sick. Hope you feel better soon!

Ona - down is down! Have you had to increase your calories a lot from your exercising? And wouldn't it be great if weight loss came with a "how-to" guide!

rmc - nice drop! :) You are not only doing this, you are succeeding at it! These ladies are a fabulous inspiration!

I got on the scale this morning, TOM supposed to be arriving in the next couple days so I'm impressed that I'm down .3! 254.6!

Hi all! Have been working like crazy over the past week and am traveling 6 days a week this month, so doubt I will be able to track my weigh ins as closely as I'd like. Right now I am hovering at 188 so not very good, but it's my fault. I need to make better choices. My exercise is also off track since I was diagnosed with costochondritis. Its chest wall pain where the cartilage between my rib and the sternum is inflammed. It's very painful and I've had it for over a week. I was so worried it was heart pain that I went to the ER last night. Glad it was not heart related.

Well half our country is snowed in, so hope everyone has a good week and stays warm! Hope to check in sometime if my workload allows.

Love you guys!

Eclipse Hi

Akelly I have heard of costochondritis before. Some people on an exercise forum that I frequent, have dealt with it. I have heard it's very painful. I hope the inflammation goes down and your pain improves. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this.

Hi folks. Apologies for skipping over the personal messages again. I'm not completely over this sickness yet, it's lodged firmly in my chest. I'll be working from home today - or alternating working with naps. :)

Anyway my report - back down to 204, my current low. I managed to wrassle myself back on plan yesterday after a few days going slightly over because feeling sick makes me want to do that. I'm home again today but I have lots of fresh chicken soup in the fridge and no bread or rice so I should manage okay.

Hi Girls!

OMG!!! Court! Week 7 here we come!!!!!!! I'm really excited!!!! :high: Bring it on!!

My scale is down .6 to 222.2 this morning which I like. Slow and steady losses make me happy. I was super on plan this weekend. I am really sore from my exercise this weekend. I tried Bob Harper's new Yoga DVD last night. HOLY COW! It was an hour long and I'm so super excited that I made it 25 minutes. I had sweat dripping off of me. I LOVED the workout! He is no joke. I am excited to start these. I KNOW that I will see the results I am looking for if I stick with Bob. I feel that he is going to be the perfect supplement to my running. If I get a mat, I'll do his ab workout tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to try his strength training. Yoga is scheduled for Wednesday.

With upping my workouts, I am expecting some craziness on the scale. I think I am going to use this time to re-read my goals, take notice of the changes I feel in my body, enjoy some good old fashioned soreness, and put in some good focus on my eating. That way, I can take full comfort in knowing that I am doing absolutely EVERYTHING within my power to achieve my goals. The number on the scale WILL fall...if I am doing everything within my power to make that happen, it has no choice but to.

Self High Five! :high:

I'm leaving for Saint John, New Brunswick today, coming home on Friday. I'm going to try to make a fresh start while I'm away -- eat clean, exercise. Wish me luck!

Happy belated birthday Kris  :happybirthday:

Busy day at work, I'll try back later for personals.

Didn't weigh in yesterday, but today I'm up 0.9 from Saturday to 192.2 - I'm okay with that. My brother and I went out for lunch yesterday. I had good portions and okay options, but don't think I had enough water to flush out the sodium. I had my last dose of the antibiotics this morning and I'm actually in the office today for the first time in 2011! I'm going to try and keep the momentum going by getting to the gym tonight :crossed:

Ona, I love your quote. Thatís really how I try to look at this journey. (And the fact that it comes from a famous cookie maker is delicious irony!)

CutieCourt, I am so impressed with your progress on c25k! I am planning to start that next week. (Itís been soooo long since Iíve done any regular exercise that I wanted to give myself a week on the treadmill before starting the challenge.) My avatar makes me laugh too!

Laneebm, great job on that one pound. Many more will follow!

Vixsin, you are doing so well and you are always so positive Ė very inspiring!

Angie , good luck on your trip and have fun! :crossed:

Kukkie84, glad you are feeling better! Sounds like you did a good job at lunch yesterday. I always find going out to be a little challenging.

MamaP, donít worry about the direction that youíre going in. Only worry about TODAY. I have a post-it on the wall in front of my desk that says, ďA year from now youíll be glad you started today.Ē Forget yesterday, just make the best choices you can today. Youíve already come so far, so I know you have it within you! Happy belated birthday . . . and you do NOT suck!

My husband and I went out for dinner last night. I didnít initially want to go because I was afraid of straying off plan, but we really needed some ďusĒ time, so I relented. Wound up doing pretty well, staying within my calorie limit and making good choices (tossed salad w/ grilled chicken). Of course, they give you enough food to last a week, so leftovers for lunch! :carrot:
